President Trump announces plans to personally inspect the U.S. Gold reserves at Fort Knox. Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife attend a meeting with the Republican Governors of Florida and New York City Mayor Kathy Hochul.

00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fossett with this Great America show midday update for Friday,

00:00:04.000 February 21st. Happy Friday, folks. We all made it through another week. And President Donald

00:00:09.400 Trump officially in office a month and one day and a hell of a job he's doing. Cash Patel finally

00:00:14.620 voted on by the Senate as our next director of the FBI. Godspeed to him by a vote of 51 to 49.

00:00:20.820 Two rhinos, Lisa Murkowski from the great state of Alaska and Susan Collins from the great state

00:00:25.720 of Maine. Both need to get their heads together or get out of the Senate or go caucus with the

00:00:32.040 Democrats. Enough's enough. This is the MAGA party. We don't need you. Get lost. President Trump

00:00:37.900 announcing plans this week with his intentions to personally inspect, folks, personally inspect

00:00:43.720 the United States gold reserves housed at Fort Knox. Now, the interesting part of it all is Fort

00:00:49.140 Knox hasn't been audited or, as far as we're concerned, reviewed in nearly 50 years, folks.

00:00:55.080 So if, as I've been saying, if Senator Bob Menendez has been down there, there's probably

00:00:59.480 no gold left in the safe. The demand comes as concerns growing over whether the 4,500 tons

00:01:06.860 of U.S. gold supposedly stored in Fort Knox still exists or if bureaucrats in the Federal

00:01:11.980 Reserve have been engaging in a financial slay of, you know, hand and fist and closed door

00:01:17.180 behaviors. The call for transparency gained momentum when conservative news outlet Zerohead sparked

00:01:22.720 debate on X saying it would be great if Elon Musk can take a look into Fort Knox. Elon Musk responding

00:01:28.960 with, he's all in favor of doing a live stream, folks, a live stream from Fort Knox to show the

00:01:37.680 American people live if there's gold in the den or if there's absolutely nothing there. So we're looking 0.98

00:01:44.060 forward to it. Elon Musk always making a great deal and a great show, making it fun for the

00:01:51.380 American people. I think we're all grateful to have him in the administration. And Congress finally

00:01:58.840 getting a decent job approval since, well, I guess MAGA's taken over. According to a recent Gallup

00:02:06.160 poll, folks, conducted February 3rd to the 16th, legislators thanked President Trump with a 70%

00:02:13.320 increase in their approval ratings since January 17th, three days before President Trump's inauguration.

00:02:19.700 Of course, one need not break out the champagne flutes yet. After all, the approval rating could

00:02:24.220 hardly have fallen any worse than it was. On January 17th, the Gallup poll showed that Congress had just a

00:02:30.040 17% approval rating. In the latest poll, that number's at 29%. So I often say on this show, I'm

00:02:36.760 not sure who has a higher approval rating, Congress or the FBI. The FBI may be past Congress at that 29%,

00:02:43.800 but they're making great strides. Now, it is possible for the Republicans to make greater gains there.

00:02:50.180 President Obama carried Congress from a 20% approval rating in December of 2008 to a high of almost 40%

00:02:56.040 in March of 2009. So just about a year and some days later. So the same phenomenon occurred during

00:03:02.440 Trump's first administration again under Biden. So we're possibly looking at some better approval

00:03:07.460 ratings in Congress, especially if these folks do the right thing and they go America first.

00:03:13.180 Now, I'd said Susan Collins, who's not exactly America first, she hails from the great state of

00:03:17.860 Maine, who's having a little issue abiding by the transgender and men and women's sports.

00:03:24.500 President Trump's announced this week that Maine will lose federal funding if it keeps defying his

00:03:28.980 executive order, which allows men to play a women's sport. The president issuing his message

00:03:33.940 before a packed room of Republican governors last night in Washington, D.C., saying, quote,

00:03:38.240 we're not going to give them any federal funding, none whatsoever, until they clean that up.

00:03:43.580 Meaning, get men the hell out of women's sports. I think it's only right. Just before that meeting 1.00

00:03:49.600 yesterday, President Trump had with the Republican governors in D.C., Governor Ron DeSantis and his

00:03:54.880 wife were invited up for the meeting. Now, it was reported and said that DeSantis brought his wife

00:04:01.760 so that she can see Trump and maybe seek out an endorsement from him for a potential governor run, 0.82

00:04:09.020 a gubernatorial run for the great state of Florida. But in very Trump-like fashion,

00:04:13.340 Trump doesn't like to be bullied or any of that stuff. President Trump put out a statement before

00:04:18.880 even seeing DeSantis and his wife saying that he wholeheartedly backs Congressman Byron Donalds

00:04:27.380 for a gubernatorial run for Florida in 2026. So President Trump not endorsing Casey DeSantis,

00:04:33.280 and now Byron Donalds has yet to declare his candidacy, but President Trump throwing his support

00:04:38.960 behind Byron Donalds as his bull in the fight. And Marxist New York Governor Kathy Hochul says she

00:04:45.640 will not remove New York Mayor Eric Adams, quote, at this time, but will instead try and limit his

00:04:50.700 authority, saying, quote, after careful consideration, I've determined that I will not commence removal

00:04:55.760 proceedings at this time. My strong belief is that the will of the voters in the supremacy and

00:05:00.540 sanctuary of the democratic elections preclude me from any other actions. I cannot deny the people of

00:05:07.420 this great city the power to make the decision for themselves. Nonetheless, Kathy Hochul said she

00:05:12.220 would be implementing a range of measures intended to limit his executive authority. Her proposals 0.95

00:05:17.800 include appointing a, quote, special inspector general to oversee the mayor's office and making

00:05:22.540 it easier for the city controller and New York City Council to sue the federal governments.

00:05:27.940 Kathy Hochul having a severe case of, I guess, Eric Adams syndrome now, and of course,

00:05:33.160 Trump derangement syndrome. Folks, please be sure to join us for today's episode of The Great

00:05:36.800 America Show. We're joined by our great friend and often guest of The Great America Show,

00:05:41.460 Russ Tice, former senior NSA intel analyst and whistleblower. We take up the Doge Committee

00:05:46.960 and how the federal government can finally cut some spending from these bloated governments,

00:05:52.240 these three-letter agencies, and how we're going to finally reform them with Cash Patel and Tulsi

00:05:56.560 Gabbard behind the reins. So, folks, please be sure to join us for that today and each and every day

00:06:03.400 for The Great America Show. I'm Jon Fossil with this midday update. Happy Friday once again, folks.
