Hello everybody, I'm John Fossey with this Great America Show midday update for Friday, April 4th.
00:00:04.740
Happy Friday, folks. I hope you are all ready for the weekend, as am I.
00:00:09.020
Job expectation numbers are out. 228,000 added for the month of March,
00:00:14.400
as the Trump economy defies its critics, folks.
00:00:18.380
Employers in the United States added those 228,000 jobs to their payrolls for the month of March,
00:00:22.480
according to the Department of Labor Statistics, and the employment rate inched up to 4.2%.
00:00:27.960
Now, the big picture in this, economists had been expecting just 140,000 jobs added in March.
00:00:34.920
The climb in the unemployment rate was expected.
00:00:37.660
The private sector hiring was much stronger than expected.
00:00:40.160
Economists had expected a forecast of 115,000 jobs.
00:00:46.380
Now, the workforce participation rate climbed from 62% to 63%.
00:00:51.440
The average work week lengthened, a sign of increased demand for labor.
00:00:55.620
Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% compared to February, and 3.8% increased compared to a year ago.
00:01:04.180
Now, folks, the strong job numbers is the latest economic data suggesting that the economy reigns on solid footing,
00:01:10.260
despite surveys showing gloomy consumer sentiment, rising policy uncertainty,
00:01:14.900
and businesses wary of future economic conditions, folks.
00:01:17.940
The tariff situation, the markets, oh, by the way, oil prices have hit a new low since 2021,
00:01:25.860
so we can expect gas prices to start falling pretty drastically, pretty rapidly over the next few days and the next few weeks,
00:01:36.080
As I was saying, these tariffs that are going into effect and the retaliatory tariffs that have taken effect already,
00:01:42.800
that President Trump put on these nations who, quite frankly, take advantage of America.
00:01:48.840
Those are going into effect, hitting the stock market a tiny bit.
00:01:53.040
This market correction, folks, this onshoring of jobs back to America,
00:02:01.460
And I think that's the thing that us as the American people have to understand.
00:02:07.940
Yes, we all do have IRAs and pension plans and all that good stuff that we're going to be needing when we retire
00:02:20.440
It's not something that we can look at right now and say,
00:02:23.000
well, in 20, 30 years from now, it's still going to be down.
00:02:27.740
This correction is about bringing jobs back to America.
00:02:38.220
So that's what us, I think, as American people have to sit back and realize.
00:02:42.940
It's about the blue-collar workers who have lost their jobs to outsourcing,
00:02:46.560
who have lost their jobs to cheap labor over in China.
00:02:52.880
Canada, one of the latest countries to be upset with the retaliatory tariffs.
00:02:57.300
But as we've told you the last few days here on The Great America Show,
00:03:01.200
they're guiltier than anybody with 200% tariffs on some goods into America.
00:03:17.760
Of course, the United States exceeding expectations for their March numbers,
00:03:24.660
The big picture is Canada thinks they're going to continue to get over on America,
00:03:28.240
but those days are long gone, at least for the next four years,
00:03:32.920
And a big shakeup happening at the economic, the World Economic Forum.
00:03:40.520
says he's going to be departing and starting the process of stepping down
00:03:43.680
as chairman of its board of trustees, the Geneva-based institution confirming this week.
00:03:51.820
which convenes in its annual gathering of world elites at the Swiss resort of Davos,
00:03:56.500
must recover its, quote, sense of mission after a period of turmoil.
00:04:02.000
The Financial Times first reported Schwab's departure,
00:04:07.240
confirming by two people with knowledge of the situation.
00:04:11.860
quote, I am deeply convinced that in today's special context,
00:04:16.220
the forum is more important and relevant than ever before.
00:04:22.180
thanks to the successful financial management since its beginning,
00:04:25.380
which is essentially now, after the turmoil of the last few months,
00:04:32.020
The 87-year-old signaled to the board of trustees
00:04:34.000
that he would resign as a non-executive chair of the board of trustees,
00:04:37.920
and it came as a surprise to the other members of the board,
00:04:40.860
given he only transitioned to the job in the past few months,
00:04:44.180
and had promised many to keep on working as mastering global control issues.
00:04:49.780
Folks, I think Schwab saw the writing on the wall.
00:04:59.220
but it's a waste of money, because nobody's subscribing to it.
00:05:04.220
You look over in France right now, and you look what they're doing to Marie Le Pen.
00:05:14.400
Well, we really got it from the banana republics who do it,
00:05:17.500
but we were the first world power to sit here on the economic and the world stage
00:05:23.240
and say, we're going to jail our political opponent.
00:05:29.360
So now, these other nations, Europe is loving it,
00:05:35.460
Their Marxist-run dictatorship cannot stand conservatives.
00:05:42.180
So they're absolutely loving it, but it's the same thing.
00:05:45.080
And this is all their plan for world economic and social demand and power.
00:05:52.600
The same thing that Klaus Schwab has been preaching for years, folks.
00:05:55.760
So we're glad to see Klaus Schwab stepping down.
00:06:00.700
President Trump has fired the NSA U.S. Cyber Command
00:06:04.160
and NSA's top boss, Timothy Haig, and his deputy director.
00:06:08.440
President Trump firing Air Force General Timothy Haig,
00:06:11.620
the director of the NSA, as I said, and the head of cyber, U.S. Cyber Command.
00:06:15.500
General Haig, a Biden holdover who assumed leadership of both agencies in 2024,
00:06:19.980
has been relieved of his duties effective immediately.
00:06:23.540
General Haig was informed by the White House that his tenure had concluded
00:06:26.980
his civilian deputy at the NSA, Wendy Noble, was also relieved of her duties.
00:06:32.300
Noble was reassigned within the Pentagon to the office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence.
00:06:38.260
Now, why would these folks still be there in the first place?
00:06:43.820
We had the whole signal gate where Mike Waltz was the troop text and this and that.
00:06:48.780
Yet we still, folks, we still have Biden holdovers.
00:06:54.920
Why do we have Biden holdovers still months after the administration had taken over?
00:07:03.100
The administration had months to prepare of who was working there and who had to go.
00:07:07.120
Because this is the same situation we're seeing from 2016, where there's people inside these
00:07:13.160
administrations who seek to undermine democracy, who seek to undermine a president, and seek
00:07:23.400
We should not be seeing now, months into the administration, people who hate President Trump,
00:07:28.380
people who were appointed by Marxist Joe Biden, still at our three-letter agencies.
00:07:38.200
We voted for an administration of change to get rid of the status quo and to get rid of
00:07:45.520
Yet they're still sitting there at their posts with their cushiony salary and their 401ks and
