00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Friday, May 30th.
00:00:04.740 We've got some great economic numbers out, folks. The economy is humming under this Trump
00:00:09.960 administration. Now, it's funny because just about a month ago, the Marxist Dems, the mainstream
00:00:14.340 media all came out and told us the thing was imploding. It was exploding. Donald Trump was
00:00:19.040 steering us into trade wars. Donald Trump was getting us into all types of problems.
00:00:23.380 It turns out the new economic numbers out today, it paints quite a different picture,
00:00:27.520 especially when it comes to trade. The U.S. trade deficit in goods contracted far more than
00:00:33.480 expected in April, falling from March's record high of $162.3 billion to $87.6 billion,
00:00:41.180 according to the Commerce Department's initial estimates released this afternoon.
00:00:45.500 Now, economists had forecasted a $143 billion estimate. Imports of goods from April were $276
00:00:52.860 billion, $68 billion less than March imports. Goods exports rose $6.3 billion to $188.5 billion.
00:01:01.180 And that's not the only good news, as the great Billy Mays from OxyClean used to say.
00:01:06.120 But wait, there's more. Core inflation has fallen to the lowest rate in four years. Prices barely
00:01:13.460 climbed in April, pulling the annual rate of inflation down towards the Federal Reserve's 2%
00:01:18.900 target, even while personal income climbed at a rapid rate. Personal consumption price index
00:01:25.260 climbed 0.1% in April, the second month in a row which consumers got relief from inflation
00:01:29.800 that has plagued the economy throughout the entire Biden administration. Back in March,
00:01:34.580 the index showed prices were flat. Now, compared with a year ago, prices are up just 2.1%.
00:01:39.620 That's one-tenth above the 2% rate of inflation that the Fed looks to target. Not bad, right?
00:01:46.100 Not bad. But they told us President Trump was going to sink the economy. He was very bad for it.
00:01:51.900 Turned out to be nothing more than just a bunch of nonsense. Now, just north of the border of America
00:01:58.720 sits Canada. Canada is not doing as well as America. Canada is, in fact, entering a recession
00:02:05.440 and could soon lose an additional 100,000 jobs. T.D. Bank's chief economist recently warning of this
00:02:12.680 issue. Now, we're not cheering for a recession in Canada, but they did just elect a socialist
00:02:18.120 president, right? They've got a socialist running their country. So, with socialism comes things like
00:02:23.980 this. Also, Donald Trump decided back in January he was not going to allow Canada to continue to rip
00:02:31.020 off America. I guess the old saying of F around and find out is really starting to pay off when it
00:02:37.560 comes to Canada. Maybe they shouldn't have to round and they wouldn't have found out. Taking
00:02:41.160 advantage of America, it's not exactly the smart thing to do when Donald Trump is the president of
00:02:47.220 the United States. Speaking of the United States, the U.S. Appeals Court has reinstated President
00:02:52.580 Trump's tariffs. Just this week, you had an unelected, of course, Marxist rogue judge who said
00:02:59.160 Donald Trump is unable, as President of the United States, to use any sort of Emergency Powers Act
00:03:03.860 to impose tariffs. Well, while we wait for a higher ruling, the U.S. Appeals Court has said,
00:03:09.700 no, he's allowed to do that. So, we're sorry, Marxist Dems. You guys have lost once again.
00:03:16.000 Kash Patel over at the FBI. It seems the FBI may finally be getting the steamrolling in the Bureau.
00:03:21.760 This week, FBI Director Kash Patel sat down with Brett Baer and said that information is coming
00:03:27.600 out on FBI agents and partners who were working on grounds of the January 6th insurrection outside
00:03:36.540 and inside the Capitol. Take a listen to Director Patel. But more importantly, people have had
00:03:43.060 questions about January 6th and whether or not there were FBI sources, not agents, sources on the ground
00:03:49.180 during January 6th. And I told you I would get you the definitive answer to that. And we have. And
00:03:54.840 we are in the process, again, of working with our partners to divulge that information. And it is
00:03:59.320 coming. And I will tell you this. The answer to that question will surprise and shock people because
00:04:06.060 of what past FBI leaders have said about it. Former FBI Director Chris Wray eventually admitted to
00:04:11.020 Congress, there were 26 FBI confidential human sources in around the Capitol, January 6th, but not actual
00:04:17.780 agents. Can you say that's true? Are there more than that? What you're learning from that?
00:04:25.660 I can say that that is definitely a piece of the truth. Why it took
00:04:30.420 a ton of time for and questioning in Congress for the director to get that point is what I'm trying
00:04:39.180 to eliminate from the FBI. If Congress asks you a question under oath, whether or not there were
00:04:43.720 sources in around January 6th at the Capitol, you as the director of the FBI need to know that
00:04:48.880 and not deflect and give a D.C. answer. You have to be prepared for that. And that's the answer
00:04:54.320 we're giving. That's the answer Chris Wray should have given. And eventually everybody's going to
00:04:57.920 know the whole picture. Yeah, because the American people deserve that. And look, no one's more
00:05:03.660 frustrated than me. Remember, I was chief of staff of the Department of Defense on January 6th. We said
00:05:08.340 that we were ready and the president had previously authorized the National Guard to be there days in
00:05:14.540 advance. I spent two years, a small fortune, grand juries to testify to the truth. And what happens now
00:05:21.920 years later, we were right. Bowser and Pelosi rejected that offer. And instead of figuring out
00:05:28.420 how to prevent security lapses like that ever again, the American public spent tens of millions
00:05:33.660 of dollars and countless hours on TV listening to conspiracy theories because those in positions
00:05:39.580 of leadership fail to tell the American public the truth. The truth is all we want to know, Mr. Patel.
00:05:45.000 That's all we've been asking for for the last few months. Just let us know and we'll make our decisions
00:05:49.980 from here on out and there on out. You can start with the Epstein tapes that we've all been waiting
00:05:55.520 for. They're taking just a little bit too long. Poetic justice, folks. Jake Tapper's CNN show
00:06:01.200 is seeing slight ratings collapse despite his Biden book buzz and his media tour. Jake Tapper is
00:06:08.040 everywhere these days doing an interview to push his new book about Biden's mental health decline,
00:06:11.980 but it's not helping the ratings on his CNN show. Jake Tapper had the lowest rated month in nearly
00:06:18.720 a decade in May despite his whirlwind of publicity. Folks, nobody wants to listen to fake news.
00:06:26.320 Nobody wants to hear it. And that's why they're tuning out. Jake Tapper. Please be sure to join us
00:06:30.760 each and every day, twice a day for The Great America Show and The Great America Show midday
00:06:34.260 update. I'm John Fawcett with this midday update. Happy Friday, folks.
