00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Thursday, April 23rd.
00:00:04.600 Happy Thursday, folks. I hope you're all having a great day.
00:00:07.000 And the weekend is almost here, but before that, let's get to some news of the day.
00:00:11.180 President Trump has ordered the U.S. military to shoot and kill any small Iranian boats that are deploying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
00:00:18.880 President Trump releasing the message this afternoon, a day after Iran again displayed its ability to thwart traffic through the channel.
00:00:25.600 President Trump's post on Truth Social came shortly after the U.S. military seized yet again another tanker associated with smuggling Iranian oil, ratcheting up his standoff with Tehran over the strait, which over 20% of all crude oil and natural gas trade has passed.
00:00:41.320 President Trump's message on Truth Social reads as follows,
00:00:43.880 Quote, I've ordered the U.S. Navy to shoot and kill any boats, small boats, 0.85
00:00:48.160 though they may be, that is putting mines in the water of the Strait of Hormuz. 0.95
00:00:52.720 President Trump adding that the U.S. minesweepers are clearing the strait right now,
00:00:57.520 and he is hereby ordering the activity to continue, but to be tripled up at level.
00:01:02.600 Meanwhile, it's unclear when, if any time, the two sides would meet again in Pakistan,
00:01:07.880 when mediators are trying to bring the countries together to reach our diplomatic deal.
00:01:11.740 President Trump in the Oval Office just moments ago says they've already hit 78% of targets.
00:01:18.660 If Iran doesn't come to the table, he's just going to finish the job. 0.60
00:01:22.580 I took the country out militarily in the first four weeks. 0.99
00:01:29.740 I took it out militarily.
00:01:31.800 Now what we're doing is sitting back and seeing what deal.
00:01:34.960 And if they don't want to make a deal, then I'll finish it up militarily with the other 25% of the targets.
00:01:40.480 We've hit 78 percent of the targets that we've wanted to hit. We've knocked out their manufacturing.
00:01:46.320 We've knocked out their missile production. We've knocked out their drone production.
00:01:49.980 We've knocked out everything. In some cases, when I say knocked it out 70, 80, 90 percent, it's amazing what we've done.
00:01:59.000 So I've done that within that period of time that I mentioned.
00:02:01.720 But I don't want to rush myself, you know, because every source, oh, Trump is under time pressure.
00:02:06.240 No, no. You know who's under time pressure? They are. Because if they don't get their oil moving, their whole oil infrastructure is going to explode. You know what that means? Because they have no place to store it. And because they have no place to store it, if they have to stop it, something happens that only Len can explain.
00:02:24.400 something happens underground that essentially renders it in very poor shape and you never
00:02:31.340 recover fully you can recover 50 60 percent but you can never have it like it is right now and
00:02:37.200 they have a matter of days before that event takes place so i'm not under any pressure whatsoever
00:02:43.640 we've never had so much ammunition our ships are loaded i call them locked and loaded they're
00:02:49.320 locked and loaded. They're ready to go. We have much higher quality equipment than we did when
00:02:55.220 we first started the war and or the military operation, whatever you want to call it.
00:03:01.060 And they're coming to us. The problem they have is they are very disorganized right now. Well,
00:03:07.100 now yesterday, and I was very pleased with this, eight young women were going to be
00:03:12.720 executed yesterday afternoon at six o'clock and i i asked them call it a favor i call it just a
00:03:21.140 moral request that they not be executed and they came back with an answer that they won't be
00:03:26.300 executed they're going to release it was protesting uh eight beautiful young women very young women
00:03:32.560 and they were the pictures in the paper and it's been a story for a little while and i saw that
00:03:37.640 And I said, let's see if we can save them.
00:03:40.840 And it was very nice what happened.
00:03:43.540 So they're not going to be, what they're doing is, as you know,
00:03:46.520 they're releasing four of them very shortly,
00:03:48.720 and they're going to keep four of them in jail for a period of one month
00:03:52.060 and release them, so they won't be executed yet.
00:03:54.400 Now, the Marxist Dems and the mainstream media, of course, in coordination,
00:03:58.940 have been putting out some fake stories over the course of the last few weeks
00:04:02.620 that President Trump reportedly asked for the nuclear codes.
00:04:06.960 President Trump was asked in the Oval Office just moments ago as well,
00:04:10.340 would he consider nuking Iran?
00:04:12.580 Take a listen.
00:04:13.540 Would you use a nuclear weapon against Iran?
00:04:15.600 You posted on social a few weeks ago.
00:04:18.000 No, we don't need it.
00:04:18.640 Why do I need it? 1.00
00:04:19.720 Why would a stupid question like that be asked? 1.00
00:04:22.060 Why would I use a nuclear weapon? 1.00
00:04:25.300 We've totally, in a very conventional way, decimated them without it.
00:04:29.800 No, I wouldn't use it.
00:04:31.260 A nuclear weapon should never be allowed to be used by anybody.
00:04:34.100 By the way, folks, that question was asked by none other than Jim Acosta's girlfriend, so should tell you what you need to know.
00:04:41.960 House Republicans this afternoon unveiled its latest proposal to extend the key spy powers authority that does not contain many of the demands listed by conservatives to reform the Section 702 of the FISA.
00:04:54.500 Mike Johnson releasing the text of the three-year extension of the 702 of the FISA as lawmakers try to extend the law ahead of the April 30th deadline.
00:05:03.220 Section 702 is that surveillance authority that is meant to be used to spy on foreign adversaries.
00:05:08.220 However, Americans' private communications somehow, coincidentally, incidentally got surveilled without warrant,
00:05:15.660 contrary to the Fourth Amendment protections against warrantless surveillance.
00:05:19.740 So now they want us to just go ahead and renew the thing, right?
00:05:23.460 Because that's what you're supposed to do.
00:05:25.880 I don't think so.
00:05:26.760 Conservatives need to fight and to fight strong and hard to ensure this thing is not renewed.
