The Great America Show - Mid-Day Update： August 28, 2025

00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Thursday, August 28th.

00:00:05.320 President Trump may have his eye on a new city that may need to be federalized.

00:00:10.500 President Trump this afternoon teasing plans to take over Chicago, Illinois,

00:00:14.160 amid his ongoing federal takeover of Washington, D.C.

00:00:17.940 President Trump and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker have been going back and forth over crime in Chicago

00:00:22.400 as President Trump is now threatening to send in the National Guard.

00:00:25.960 Pritzker has accused Donald Trump of attempting to, quote, occupy a U.S. city, punish its dissidents,

00:00:32.040 and score political points, calling the potential deployment unconstitutional and un-American

00:00:37.420 and a dangerous power grab.

00:00:40.120 President Trump says that's not the case.

00:00:41.860 He says residents are desperate for the need to stop crime, something the Democrats aren't capable of doing.

00:00:48.060 Quote, Governor Pritzker has six murders in Chicago this weekend.

00:00:51.500 20 people were shot.

00:00:53.000 Stay tuned, says President Trump.

00:00:55.960 Per CBS, six people were killed and 27 injured over the shootings over the weekend.

00:01:01.380 Victims aged from 5 to 48 years old.

00:01:05.700 President Trump making America great again, making America safe again.

00:01:10.560 In the wake of the horrific mass shooting at that Catholic church in Minneapolis,

00:01:14.660 where two young children were gunned down and 17 other wounded during that mass shooting,

00:01:19.140 CNN anchor Jake Tapper has sparked outrage by focusing on, quote,

00:01:24.060 the correct pronouns for the deranged transgender shooter. 0.94

00:01:28.840 The depraved male shooter, born Robert Paul Westman, but legally changed his name to Robin M. Westman in 2020, 0.87

00:01:37.000 began identifying as a female. 0.99

00:01:39.620 Of course, on Wednesday, this sick, sick man opened fire outside the church window, 0.99

00:01:44.440 targeting helpless children and parishioners inside. 1.00

00:01:47.300 The 23-year-old transgender later died from self-inflicted gunshot wound, like the coward he is. 1.00

00:01:54.040 Daugherty's recovered a manifesto in videos where the shooter expressed suicidal intentions, 0.96

00:01:58.720 obsession with past mass killings,

00:02:00.940 and inscribed gun magazines with vile messages like,

00:02:03.780 killed Donald Trump,

00:02:05.080 and messages like, quote,

00:02:06.400 where is your God?

00:02:07.900 Following the attack,

00:02:09.380 Tapper took his time on his broadcast to lecture viewers

00:02:12.080 on respecting the shooter's gender identity and his preferred name.

00:02:17.480 You can't make this stuff up, folks.

00:02:19.320 Another piece of the puzzle as to who the shooter was,

00:02:21.680 the Minneapolis Star Tribune says, according to court records,

00:02:24.540 because there's been some confusion about what the shooter's name was.

00:02:26.960 Yes.

00:02:27.880 Robin Westman's mother applied to change her child's name in 2019.

00:02:31.760 It was, at one point, Robert Paul Westman.

00:02:34.940 Correct.

00:02:35.320 But since she identifies as a female 0.75

00:02:38.160 and wants her name to reflect that identification,

00:02:40.420 was underage,

00:02:41.360 it's now Robin Westman.

00:02:43.220 Yeah, don't worry about the people who were killed or anything like that.

00:02:45.820 Just worry about what this tranny's name was 1.00

00:02:48.520 and what he or she or it identified as.

00:02:51.460 Imagine that, folks.

00:02:52.900 And California Governor Gavin Newsom

00:02:54.980 showed he is not ready for prime time

00:02:57.140 after stumbling through a simple question

00:02:59.240 and leaving a press conference in an embarrassment.

00:03:02.740 Newsom held a press conference this afternoon

00:03:04.340 to announce that he is now surging law enforcement

00:03:06.920 to address crime statewide

00:03:08.920 after staring down the possibility of President Trump

00:03:12.260 deploying more federal forces to cities in his state.

00:03:15.960 Newsom was seemingly caught off guard

00:03:17.640 that a reporter would ask some kind of question about crime.

00:03:21.520 Newsom's action meant that crime was a problem

00:03:23.780 in the Golden State.

00:03:25.420 Take a listen to Newsom stumbling and bumbling

00:03:28.320 before finally regaining his composure

00:03:30.320 about the crime in California.

00:03:34.460 The stumbling and bumbling,

00:03:35.540 it may just be a thing in the Democratic Party

00:03:37.520 between Kamala and Joe Biden,

00:03:39.220 now Gavin Newsom.

00:03:40.800 Take a listen to Newsom

00:03:42.060 before he abruptly ended his press conference.

00:03:45.620 Do you believe that crime is a problem in California or not?

00:03:48.500 Well, I'm sort of curious question.

00:03:54.120 I made the entire point that crime is an issue

00:03:57.000 and we want to tackle it

00:03:58.400 and we continue to do more in that space

00:04:01.140 and we announced and highlighted

00:04:02.500 some of the expansion.

00:04:04.020 What is not contradictory, respectfully,

00:04:07.120 is that we're doing it in partnership

00:04:08.520 with our local communities.

00:04:11.640 We did it in partnership

00:04:12.720 with the Biden administration prior.

00:04:14.940 We're not talking about the nationalization,

00:04:17.400 the militarization of the Guard

00:04:20.520 and militarizing United States cities.

00:04:23.200 So quite the contrary.

00:04:24.780 As I said, it must be a prerequisite

00:04:26.600 to become a Democrat

00:04:27.620 that you have to stumble and bumble through answers.

00:04:30.660 In battle, Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook 0.91

00:04:32.560 has admitted to manufacturing documents

00:04:34.940 and she says it may have been a clerical error

00:04:37.820 behind her mortgage occupancy fraud dispute.

00:04:40.640 Cook finally admitted to manufacturing documents

00:04:42.880 and said the clerical error is behind

00:04:44.460 the mortgage fraud dispute.

00:04:46.260 Lisa Cook filed a lawsuit 0.97

00:04:47.520 after President Trump fired her

00:04:49.160 as Federal Reserve Governor

00:04:50.240 and the lawsuit was assigned to,

00:04:52.440 you're never going to guess it,

00:04:53.540 a Biden-appointed judge.

00:04:55.620 Cook is suing President Trump,

00:04:56.720 the Federal Reserve Board of Governors,

00:04:58.240 and the Fed Chairman, Jerome Powell.

00:05:00.840 Abby Lowell, he's a famous name

00:05:02.720 that you may have heard,

00:05:03.400 former Hunter Biden attorney,

00:05:05.100 and deep state hack Norm Eisenhower

00:05:07.620 representing Lisa Cook.

00:05:09.380 Now, in the lawsuit,

00:05:10.400 Cook did not appear to refute

00:05:11.440 the allegations of mortgage fraud,

00:05:13.260 but she did argue that she is the first black woman

00:05:15.880 to sit on the Federal Reserve's board

00:05:17.600 in its history.

00:05:19.520 Quote,

00:05:19.880 even if the president had been more careful

00:05:21.960 in obscuring his real justification

00:05:24.180 for targeting Governor Cook,

00:05:25.780 the president's concocted basis for removal,

00:05:29.040 the unsubstantiated and unproven allegations

00:05:31.540 that Governor Cook,

00:05:32.680 quote,

00:05:32.900 potentially erred

00:05:34.080 in filing out a mortgage form

00:05:36.220 prior to her Senate confirmation,

00:05:38.600 does not amount to cause

00:05:40.340 within the meeting of the FRA

00:05:42.060 and is unsupported by case law,

00:05:45.200 according to the complaint

00:05:46.280 filed by Cook.

00:05:47.700 So, that means

00:05:48.740 if few folks have a mortgage,

00:05:50.220 you can go out

00:05:50.820 and fill out whatever you want,

00:05:52.180 just as long as it's an accident.

00:05:54.440 Wink.

00:05:55.600 Ha! 0.89

00:05:56.380 The times we're living in, folks,

00:05:57.720 you cannot make this stuff up

00:05:59.020 and you cannot make a movie.

00:06:00.780 It's truly remarkable.
