00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Friday, August 29th.
00:00:05.240 President Trump striking another blow against his 2024 presidential rival,
00:00:10.740 even as she considers another desperate bid for presidency.
00:00:14.400 President Trump has reportedly revoked Kamala Harris' Secret Service protection earlier this afternoon.
00:00:20.520 Harris previously received six months of protection after leaving office in accordance with federal law.
00:00:26.320 That period ended on July 21st.
00:00:28.740 Joe Biden, however, extended her protection by additional year for undisclosed reasons.
00:00:35.280 How unsurprising that the Biden administration and his handlers would make a mockery of the law once again.
00:00:42.020 Donald Trump says, no more, Kamala.
00:00:44.820 If you want security, get your own security and pay for it yourself.
00:00:48.720 The taxpayer dollars are not being spent to protect you, Kamala.
00:00:52.860 Sorry, you're not president of the United States.
00:00:55.740 The great state of Iowa will have a chance to upgrade its congressional delegation next year,
00:01:00.440 though the White House understandably wanted to play it safe.
00:01:03.580 It's being reported that Iowa Senator Joni Ernst will not seek re-election for that seat in the Senate.
00:01:10.420 Ernst has served in the Senate since 2015.
00:01:13.000 A source telling CBS that Ernst has told people close to her that she intends to only serve two terms
00:01:18.160 and will enter the private sector.
00:01:20.320 The news will come as a disappointment to the White House as President Trump has urged Ernst to run again for the Senate.
00:01:26.340 The reason for this is the incumbency is a powerful asset and there's no stomach for a nasty primary.
00:01:32.700 However, there is tremendous potential for true MAGA candidates to emerge.
00:01:36.240 This is necessary considering Ernst's deviations from the America First agenda.
00:01:42.320 And one of the hardest working men in D.C., of course second to President Trump,
00:01:46.480 Secretary of State Marco Rubio, an acting national security advisor,
00:01:50.560 announced on Friday that Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vogt
00:01:54.020 will oversee the final closeout of U.S. Agency for International Development,
00:01:58.680 often referred to as USAID,
00:02:00.740 marking the accumulation of months of cuts and restructuring under President Trump's administration.
00:02:06.680 In a tweet, Rubio said,
00:02:08.000 I joked with POTUS that I had four jobs.
00:02:11.500 He told me to give one to a friend, at Russ Vogt, so I did.
00:02:15.520 Since January, we saved the taxpayers tens of billions of dollars,
00:02:19.000 and with a small set core programs moved over to the State Department,
00:02:22.700 USAID is officially in closeout mode.
00:02:26.040 Russ is now at the helm to oversee the closeout of the agency that long ago went off the rails.
00:02:31.480 Congrats, Russ.
00:02:32.420 The coming close to USAID comes after DOGE, the famous Elon Musk project,
00:02:39.800 found billions and billions of dollars being wasted through this program.
00:02:44.100 President Trump said no more ending USAID,
00:02:47.180 and we should expect it to come to an end in the next few months once and for all.
00:02:51.400 Federal Reserve Chairman, hopefully not for much longer,
00:02:54.360 Jerome Powell, is continuing to allow Lisa Cook to have access to her office
00:02:58.740 and her electronics despite President Trump ordering her firing. 0.80
00:03:03.160 President Trump on Monday evening fired Biden-appointed Federal Reserve Governor,
00:03:06.900 Lisa Cook, as she fights her mortgage fraud allegations.
00:03:11.100 However, Lisa Cook filed a lawsuit to block President Trump from firing her. 0.95
00:03:16.260 Cook admitted that she had manufactured documents
00:03:18.340 and hinted at a clerical error that's behind her mortgage fraud allegations.
00:03:24.040 So she's been fired by President Trump for being unethical, 0.99
00:03:28.600 yet Jerome Powell allowing her to still access her office,
00:03:32.400 her electronics, and possibly classified information?
00:03:36.380 Make that make sense?
00:03:37.940 It seems there may be cause now for President Trump to look at firing Jerome Powell,
00:03:43.020 who's only got a few months left in office anyway,
00:03:45.520 but I think it goes without saying he deserves it for all the bad stuff he's been doing
00:03:50.340 to President Trump and this country, as a matter of fact,
00:03:54.580 over the last year or so with his interest rate gains,
00:03:57.940 although after mounting pressure and an interest rate cut,
00:04:00.700 which is expected to come this September, we shall see.
00:04:05.280 Border czar Tom Holman on Friday said that the Trump administration
00:04:08.000 has located nearly 30,000 of the 300,000 missing children
00:04:12.420 that the Biden administration lost track of at the border
00:04:15.340 and left with unvetted individuals to be exploited.
00:04:19.180 That's right, folks, human traffickers, human smugglers,
00:04:22.180 and children under the Biden administration.
00:04:25.340 Take a listen to Border czar Tom Holman.
00:04:27.380 Out of the 300,000 children, I looked at the numbers just yesterday,
00:04:32.140 we've located over 23,000 of them.
00:04:34.840 So 23,000 locations of the 300,000.
00:04:38.480 Well, President Trump's committed, we're not going to stop
00:04:41.040 until we find every one of them or at least run every lead down
00:04:44.440 on those 300,000 children.
00:04:46.260 That's a big plus for the administration
00:04:48.860 because the last administration wasn't even looking for them.
00:04:52.180 So as far as with Chicago, Chicago's coming along with every other sanctuary city.
00:04:57.020 President Trump is committed that we're going to focus
00:04:59.820 and prioritize sanctuary cities because that is where the problem is.
00:05:03.820 We know for a fact they're releasing public safety threats to the streets every day
00:05:09.180 rather than handing them over to ICE so we can deport them.
