00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Monday, July 13th.

00:00:04.760 Happy Monday, folks. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

00:00:07.400 Well, over the weekend, some unexpected news I'm sure you've all heard about now.

00:00:11.100 Republican Senator Lindsey Graham passing away Saturday night at the age of 71 years old.

00:00:16.660 Audio of the 911 call revealed Lindsey Graham had chest pains before going into cardiac arrest at his home.

00:00:22.940 The preliminary results and the examination findings show that Lindsay suffered from something called aortic dissection due to something called arteriosclerotic of the heart.

00:00:37.620 The death certificate will be pending until the toxicology and microscopic testings are finalized at the point the death certificate will be updated to reflect the cause of death and appropriately classify the manner of death.

00:00:49.860 The FBI is assisting with local authorities, however. Fox News is reporting that foul play is not suspected in the deck. President Trump called Lindsey Graham one of the greatest people and senators he's ever known. President Trump visibly and vocally disrupted and dismayed by the news as he's done multiple interviews over the weekend.

00:01:12.120 President Trump today announcing who he would like to see succeed, President Trump posting on True Social to South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, that he would like to see Lindsey Graham's wonderful sister Darlene serve as interim senator from the great state of South Carolina, saying that this would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly.

00:01:34.260 We'll have to wait and see what Governor McMaster decides on that.

00:01:37.620 In other news happening on Capitol Hill this weekend, former Senate Majority Leader and Trump hater Mitch McConnell, who's 84 years old, has not appeared in the Senate for three weeks after being hospitalized mid-June for an undisclosed medical condition.

00:01:50.360 He has not appeared in public since he landed in the hospital on June 14th, and he was found unconscious.

00:01:55.840 His office has declined to reveal any details of the illness or provide a timetable for his return.

00:02:00.160 and a leaked emergency dispatch audio from a June 14th call

00:02:04.220 indicated McConnell was reportedly found unconscious at his Kentucky home

00:02:07.740 and may have suffered a heart attack.

00:02:10.100 Meanwhile, McConnell's wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao,

00:02:13.840 has traveled to Beijing following the hospitalization

00:02:15.940 where she met with the Chinese Vice President, Han Zheng.

00:02:19.580 Her office said McConnell's condition did not warrant an immediate return to the United States.

00:02:24.260 Now, there's been much speculation about his well-being since he landed in the hospital,

00:02:27.900 but on Sunday McConnell released a statement and a photo of himself with his wife on Facebook

00:02:32.740 sitting in a hospital bed. The statement though creates a little bit more questions than answers

00:02:37.700 because McConnell says he did not have a stroke or a heart attack and says he had a fall. He said

00:02:44.280 he had a mild case of pneumonia but says he didn't suffer any concussion, any hemorrhages, no tumors.

00:02:52.400 Says he was briefly unconscious and taken to the hospital and with signs of continued progress he's

00:02:57.140 able to move from hospital care to a rehab center where he says he'll keep regaining his strength.

00:03:02.720 People on social media not so sold on the story that's being told, so we'll have to monitor that

00:03:09.160 and see where that goes. Now President Trump in his interviews this afternoon was asked about Iran

00:03:15.080 as the deals continue to come in, but the deals as fast as they come in, they go out. President

00:03:20.660 Trump says it was a done deal and then they broke it. He says they always break it. They have 10

00:03:24.300 deals with these people and after they leave the room they go on and break the deal take a listen

00:03:29.520 to what president trump says his next steps are regarding iran but we had a deal what nobody knows

00:03:35.200 we had a deal it was a done deal and then they broke it they always break it we've had 10 deals

00:03:40.760 with these people and so we're just going to hit them very hard and we're going to we're going to

00:03:45.360 keep the uh straight and we'll probably run it we'll become the guardian of the straight maybe

00:03:50.200 people call it the guardian angel of the straight and we should be reimbursed for that when we do

00:03:55.000 that we're going to be reimbursed because the other nations are very wealthy they're on our

00:03:58.640 side and we can't be expected to do that for nothing unlike we had for many years you know

00:04:03.380 we we guarded the straight for 50 years more and we never got paid for it they made all the money

00:04:10.760 in the united states was just you know not they wouldn't it's amazing it's uh we we never made

00:04:17.560 We guarded it for nothing, and now we're going to guard it,

00:04:20.800 and we're going to get paid for guarding it, a lot of money.

00:04:23.540 But we just want to be reimbursed for doing all of this,

00:04:27.080 for putting our people in danger.

00:04:28.860 But we're really not putting people, we're really saving people.

00:04:32.360 Remember this, they killed 52,000 protesters so far.

00:04:35.660 As of this moment, the number is 52,000.

00:04:38.900 So who's going to protest?

00:04:40.540 And a lot of people are surprised about the protesting, you know, that they haven't.

00:04:44.440 But nobody's going to protest when they get shot.

00:04:46.520 They have AK-47s, they have machine guns aimed at people's heads.

00:04:51.520 If you move one foot further, you get shot, and then they'll shoot ten of them, and everybody flees.

00:04:57.280 Who's not going to flee? They don't have guns.

00:04:59.600 So they're a bad group of people. Let me just tell you that.

00:05:03.340 I don't say that often, and I have to live with that statement.

00:05:05.880 They're a bad group of people. 1.00

00:05:07.800 They've been this way for a long time, and right now they're getting their ass kicked. 1.00

00:05:12.920 You heard the man, and now we wait and continue to wait and see what happens. 0.99

00:05:16.520 with this deal in Iran, or if there is ever to be a deal made.
