Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Thursday, November 13th.
00:00:06.320
Well, the longest government shutdown in the history of this country is finally over.
00:00:11.800
President Trump announcing last night from the Oval Office,
00:00:13.940
well, he signed that bill to reopen the government just past 10 o'clock Eastern time.
00:00:18.980
President Trump calling out the Marxist Dems for trying to extort the American people
00:00:23.260
for one and a half trillion dollars to fund the illegal aliens.
00:00:28.180
The United States in an attempt to extort American taxpayers for hundreds of billions of dollars for illegal aliens
00:00:35.640
and people that came into our country illegally from gangs, from prisons, from mental institutions.
00:00:42.800
They wanted to pay them one point five trillion dollars, which would have really hurt our health care businesses
00:00:50.020
and our recipients at levels never seen before.
00:00:53.860
Today, we're sending a clear message that we will never give in to extortion, because that's what it was.
00:01:00.460
They tried to extort. The Democrats tried to extort our country.
00:01:04.560
In just a moment, I'll sign a bill exactly like we asked Democrats to send us.
00:01:09.640
All along, many days ago, this cost the country one point five trillion dollars,
00:01:17.960
To call it an excursion, I think, is to put it nicely.
00:01:20.580
What the Democrats did was just a disgrace and disjustice to America and all of our government workers
00:01:26.460
who make this country run every single day and make this country great and make this country safe.
00:01:33.900
They cared about playing politics and they cared about stopping Donald Trump at any cost.
00:01:40.340
It didn't matter who was responsible at any cost.
00:01:43.060
It was all about stopping the big, bad orange man.
00:01:47.340
And folks, as I've said all along, the Marxist Dems once again lost,
00:01:51.660
and they're going to lose when it comes time for the midterm elections,
00:01:54.400
when the voters go to the polls to vote, and they remember what they did to them.
00:01:58.980
Now, President Trump last night, in his address out of the Oval Office,
00:02:02.140
doubling down, demanding the filibuster be ended by the Senate,
00:02:05.700
because the Marxist Dems are going to do it anyway.
00:02:12.320
You also want to call for a termination to the filibuster so that this can never happen again.
00:02:19.420
If we had the filibuster terminated, this would never happen again.
00:02:23.280
And don't forget, we have another date coming up in the not-too-distant future.
00:02:29.280
And we should be able to pass great, really great legislation.
00:02:33.220
So I say terminate the filibuster because, by the way,
00:02:36.860
the Democrats will do it immediately if they ever assumed office,
00:02:42.620
And that's the message President Trump has been pushing ever since he called for the end of the filibuster.
00:02:47.720
The Marxist Dems are going to do it as soon as they seize power anyway,
00:02:50.780
so the Republicans might as well do it, get a head start, and push through the agenda.
00:02:54.580
But it's going to take John Thune and the rest of his rhinos in the Senate to go ahead and get the votes for that.
00:03:06.340
He's a big tough guy these days, so we'll have to see what happens.
00:03:10.000
Speaking of the Senate, Democrat Senator John Fetterman,
00:03:12.760
who's sort of been the voice of reason through this whole government shutdown,
00:03:15.740
hospitalized earlier this morning after a fall near his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania.
00:03:20.760
Fetterman was transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh out of abundance of caution.
00:03:25.040
According to Fetterman's office, the senator had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up
00:03:31.220
We pray for Senator Fetterman that he heals and is back to work ASAP.
00:03:36.640
And with Congress now open, while the Republicans have been working throughout the whole process,
00:03:41.080
the Democrats are the ones who haven't really been working,
00:03:42.940
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Geordi today announcing a blistering new inquiry
00:03:47.640
into the Justice Department's Inspector General's office,
00:03:50.500
demanding answers about the watchdog's office' direct involvement
00:03:53.440
in the Biden DOJ's highly controversial Arctic Frost investigation.
00:03:58.540
You know, the investigation where Jack Smith ran totally rogue,
00:04:01.660
the junkyard jackal subpoenaing everyone's phones, taking everyone's phones.
00:04:05.700
By the way, we found out today Kevin McCarthy, former House Speaker,
00:04:09.000
was another one who fell victim to Jack Smith's Arctic Frost and the cell phone seizure.
00:04:15.700
Jim Jordan now wants answers, and I think the American people want answers
00:04:19.740
to everything that's gone on during that investigation.
