00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Monday, November 25th.
00:00:06.160 Special Counsel Junkyard Jackal Jack Smith has filed a motion to drop all federal charges against President-elect Donald Trump
00:00:14.160 regarding his, quote, mishandling of classified documents and his, quote, efforts to overturn his 2020 presidential election,
00:00:23.020 of course, in the lead up to the events of January 6th, we'll call them.
00:00:27.340 We don't call it an insurrection here on the show. We just call it January 6th.
00:00:31.400 Trump, of course, was first indicted back in June of 2023 in a federal court in Miami on 37 felony counts related to mishandling classified documents
00:00:39.980 and that he took from the White House to his Florida home.
00:00:43.380 They included willful retention of national defense information, making false statements and conspiring to obstruct justice.
00:00:50.520 Of course, Judge Eileen Cannon down in Florida dismissed that case, but Smith's office, of course, filed an appeal.
00:00:57.920 Trump was separately indicted on four felonies in August of 23 for his attempt to, quote,
00:01:02.900 reverse the 2020 election results, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding,
00:01:10.100 obstruction and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
00:01:14.960 This case was, of course, put on hold for months as Trump's team argued that the case should be thrown out for multiple reasons,
00:01:21.260 including that a former president cannot be prosecuted for his actions as office.
00:01:25.840 Now, that was President Trump challenging the 2020 election.
00:01:28.440 I'm not entirely sure why he would have been tried for that or brought any charges in the first place.
00:01:35.900 And Vice President Kamala Harris, at least for another month or so, despite her humiliating a feat against Donald Trump,
00:01:42.600 is reportedly determined to remain in the political fray.
00:01:46.440 The outgoing vice president, who has been licking her wounds on holiday with her family in Hawaii,
00:01:50.820 is currently weighing her options on what her political future may hold.
00:01:54.560 According to Politico Playbook, Harris has arrived at the conclusion that there are two possible paths ahead, the report explains.
00:02:02.300 Her tropical interlude has been anything but rest and relax.
00:02:05.360 Harris has spent a lot of time on the phone since her loss to Trump just three weeks ago.
00:02:09.280 Harris has reportedly told all of her allies and close friends, quote,
00:02:13.040 I am staying in the fight.
00:02:14.660 The question is, is what capacity does Harris think she's going to be in to stay in that fight?
00:02:19.780 Right as of right now, it looks like Harris has two options.
00:02:23.120 The position herself is the 2028 presidential frontrunner, which we saw what happened to her just two weeks ago.
00:02:29.600 Not entirely sure she's the right person for that job.
00:02:34.640 But we'll see what Harris has in mind.
00:02:37.080 The other path is to pursue a run for governor in 2026.
00:02:40.340 I'm sure she'll need the blessing from her good friend, Gavin Newsom.
00:02:44.080 But I'm sure there's a deal to be made there.
00:02:46.460 Nonetheless, Harris says she's not going away.
00:02:48.920 President Trump out with some news over the weekend.
00:02:51.920 President Trump says he will remove transgender service members from the military by executive order on day one of his presidency.
00:02:59.900 According to the New York Times, the order could come on the first day back in the White House.
00:03:03.720 There are believed to be about 15,000 active service personnel who are trannies.
00:03:08.300 They would be medically discharged, which would determine that they are unfit to serve.
00:03:12.060 The ban wouldn't just be for existing members.
00:03:14.380 It would ban anybody from joining the military in general who decided they want to become transgender.
00:03:22.420 And as more details of President-elect Donald Trump's mass deportation plan are revealed, including a vow by BordersR Tom Homan to go after all undocumented migrants, voters appear to still be supportive of the move.
00:03:33.780 A new poll out from CBS News and YouGov show 57% of those asked support the plan to remove at least 11 million people who have been living in the United States illegally, with 43% saying they didn't.
00:03:46.300 While Trump has floated the idea of using U.S. military as part of the effort to detain the migrants, most of those said they didn't want to see that be the case.
00:03:53.720 Just 40% of those said the military should be involved, compared to 82% who felt it's the job of the immigration and border control agencies.
00:04:02.760 Federal law enforcement agencies came in at 64%.
00:04:06.100 Folks, that's a strong poll for Americans who want to see laws be followed in this country.

00:04:25.700 We're now just under 60 days until President Trump is set to head back to the White House.
00:04:30.860 So much left to do, so much to do once he gets there.
