Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Wednesday, November 5th.
00:00:05.400
The radical left's takeover of America's largest city is complete,
00:00:09.840
and it comes with open attacks on President Trump, capitalism, and even the foundations of Western civilization.
00:00:17.420
Zohan Mamdani, who's a self-described Democrat socialist and the first Muslim mayor,
00:00:22.160
elect to New York City, delivered a fiery Marxist-ing victory speech that sounded like a,
00:00:28.080
I don't even know what it would be, un-American as possible.
00:00:32.340
Mamdani not only quoted socialist Eugene Debs, but also invoked Janaro Nauru,
00:00:38.880
the Marxist founding father and socialist of India, who crushed Hindus and empowered the jihadists.
00:00:45.020
Take a listen to his victory speech last night, not one of unity to say the least.
00:00:51.040
Standing before you, I think of the words of Jawaharlal Nehru.
00:00:58.080
A moment comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new,
00:01:04.160
when an age ends and when the soul of a nation long suppressed finds utterance.
00:01:10.240
Tonight we have stepped out from the old into the new.
00:01:13.320
So let us speak now with clarity and conviction that cannot be misunderstood
00:01:21.560
about what this new age will deliver and for whom.
00:01:27.120
This will be an age where New Yorkers expect from their leaders a bold vision of what we will achieve,
00:01:33.540
rather than a list of excuses for what we are too timid to attempt.
00:01:37.640
As I said, folks, it doesn't sound like a man who wants to unite New York, rather divide it.
00:01:46.160
Here I'm quoting the Marxist founding father of socialism in India,
00:01:50.360
who turned India into a socialist prison, appeased the jihadists,
00:01:55.720
left Muslim law untouched but rewrote Hindu law to weaken traditional families,
00:02:00.560
banned Hindu national groups but excused jihadists in the name of secularism,
00:02:04.840
created the dynamic rule birthing Nehru Gandhi family empire that still poisons Indian politics,
00:02:11.720
and of course praised China until Mao invaded and humiliated India in 1962.
00:02:17.060
Well, folks, in New York, good luck, and that's what you got to look forward to.
00:02:22.200
Mondani last night also declared his intentions to freeze rent, make buses fast and free,
00:02:26.740
and bring universal child care to New York, an agenda right out of the socialist manifesto.
00:02:31.840
So, he's got the Marxist Dems even quivering, terrified.
00:02:36.680
Van Jones, who's a CNN commentator on last night,
00:02:40.560
says the Mondani we saw last night was not like the one we saw on the campaign trail,
00:02:45.300
and he was very surprised to see him angered and screaming and yelling.
00:02:51.680
Take a listen to Van Jones, terrified on CNN last night.
00:02:58.040
I think the Mondani that we saw on the campaign trail, who was a lot more calm,
00:03:04.380
who was a lot warmer, who was a lot more embracing, was not present in that speech.
00:03:10.180
And I think that Mondani is the one you need to hear from tonight.
00:03:14.000
There are a lot of people trying to figure out, can I get on this train with him or not?
00:03:20.420
Is he going to be more of a class warrior, even in office?
00:03:25.440
I think he missed a chance tonight to open up and bring more people into the tent.
00:03:33.980
I think he was using the microphone in a way that he was almost yelling.
00:03:38.200
And that's not the Mondani that we've seen on TikTok and the great interviews and stuff like that.
00:03:42.120
So I felt like there's a little bit of a character switch here,
00:03:45.640
where the warm, open, embracing guy that's close to working people was not on stage tonight.
00:03:56.380
And he just pulled off something that's very, very difficult.
00:03:59.080
And I wouldn't write him off, but I think he missed an opportunity to open himself up tonight.
00:04:04.480
And I think that that will probably cost him going forward.
00:04:08.780
Did they think that it was just going to end with transgenders and girls' bathrooms?
00:04:13.620
Did they think that's what the Democratic Party was going to stop at?
00:04:19.660
Over in Minneapolis, incumbent Jacob Frey defeated Somalian Muslim Omar Fatah
00:04:25.220
in the race for Minneapolis mayor of the far-left Minneapolis.
00:04:28.440
Mayor Jacob Frey won his third term against Omar Fatah and 13 others.
00:04:35.580
And before the Supreme Court today, they are hearing arguments today and this week on President Trump's emergency powers that he invoked on the Tariff Act.
00:04:45.600
Supreme Court justices appear a little skeptical.
00:04:48.120
We'll have to monitor and see what they ultimately think on this.
00:04:51.980
But some of the Supreme Court justices totally lost, including Joe Biden's DEI hire, Ketanji Brown-Jackson, making multiple gaffes for the ages, folks.
00:05:02.940
We'll talk about it tonight on The Great America Show, 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
