00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fossett with this Great America Show midday update for Monday, June 30th.
00:00:05.020 Happy Monday, folks. It's almost July.
00:00:07.720 It didn't take long after Senator Tom Tillis of North Carolina, who happens to be a rhino, 0.55
00:00:13.240 announced his retirement from the Senate over the weekend for his mask to come off.
00:00:18.060 Just hours after revealing he won't seek re-election for the North Carolina Senatorship,
00:00:22.680 took to the Senate floor and unleashed a scathing tirade against President Trump's signature,
00:00:27.200 Big Beautiful Bill, also known as the BBB, which we all know is a sweeping America First legislative package
00:00:33.680 aimed at slashing wasteful spending and ending taxpayer-funded handouts to illegals. 0.57
00:00:40.300 One key provision of the bill? Defunding Medicaid for illegal aliens, refugees, and asylum seekers.
00:00:47.240 Why would Tom Tillis be against it? Why is it too much for him?
00:00:51.000 Tillis tried to justify his no vote by touting his past life in, quote,
00:00:55.040 management consulting, and his old speaker days in North Carolina.
00:00:59.660 Tillis cried and whined that the bill's Medicaid reforms would, quote,
00:01:02.620 hurt North Carolina by cutting billions in provider taxes.
00:01:07.080 His brazen claim that Trump would, quote, break his promise to Medicaid recipients,
00:01:11.340 comparing Trump's reforms to Obama's infamous lie,
00:01:14.480 if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.
00:01:17.080 Tillis has absolutely lost his mind, went on the Senate floor, and lied and lied and lied.
00:01:23.360 If this were the case, his counterparts in the Senate, all 50-plus of them,
00:01:29.180 would be vehemently against the bill.
00:01:31.640 Take a listen to part of Tillis's little tirade on the Senate floor.
00:01:36.020 On health care and betraying a promise,
00:01:39.200 it is inescapable that this bill in its current form will betray the very promise that Donald J. Trump made
00:01:49.020 in the Oval Office or in the Cabinet Room when I was there with finance,
00:01:53.480 where he said, we can go after waste, fraud, and abuse on any programs.
00:01:58.860 Now, those amateurs that are advising him, not Dr. Oz,
00:02:05.060 I'm talking about White House health care experts,
00:02:08.520 refuse to tell him that those instructions
00:02:11.540 that were to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse,
00:02:16.620 all of a sudden eliminates a government program that's called the provider tax.
00:02:21.480 We have morphed a legal construct that admittedly has been abused
00:02:26.840 and should be eliminated into waste, fraud, and abuse.
00:02:31.360 That's a man who's utterly defeated.
00:02:33.300 You remember him sinking the nomination of D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin.
00:02:37.760 We broke down on the show just how much money Tom Tillis has taken from Medicare companies
00:02:42.580 and all these big pharma companies.
00:02:45.440 He's taken in millions and millions of dollars.
00:02:48.120 I'm going to have to presume when Tom Tillis retires,
00:02:52.180 he's got a nice seven-figure job waiting for him,
00:02:55.660 maybe somewhere in the health care industry.
00:02:58.020 If I was a betting man, I think I would probably take a look at that.
00:03:02.400 Speaking of health care and big pharma and all that good stuff,
00:03:06.540 the Department of Justice this afternoon unveiling a record-shattering crackdown
00:03:10.500 on the corrupt underbelly of America's health care system.
00:03:14.000 A jaw-dropping 324 defendants, including 96 medical professionals,
00:03:20.360 have been charged in 50 federal districts, 12 states for orchestrating over $15 billion
00:03:26.080 in intended fraud, largely targeting Medicare, Medicaid, and federal health programs
00:03:32.340 meant to serve the elderly, disabled, and the poor.
00:03:36.040 The takedown was spearheaded by the DOJ's health care fraud unit
00:03:38.840 in coordination with HHS, OIG, the FBI, and the DEA
00:03:42.920 in over a dozen state attorney general's offices
00:03:45.700 marks the largest health care fraud bust in United States history, folks.
00:03:51.820 This is what the Trump administration is doing.
00:03:54.380 This is what Tom Tillis is against.
00:03:56.940 Speaking of investigations,
00:03:59.260 border czar Tom Homan announcing AOC is now under federal investigation
00:04:03.220 for employing illegal aliens on her staff and helping other illegals evade ICE.
00:04:09.180 Take a listen to Homan's exchange earlier this afternoon
00:04:11.480 with our good friend Benny Johnson.
00:04:13.540 Just one final question, Mr. Borgesar,
00:04:16.160 and it has to do with the region of New York
00:04:18.220 and somebody who's in the news a lot lately
00:04:19.680 because she's most likely planning on running for higher office. 1.00
00:04:24.280 It'd be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
00:04:25.880 AOC has come and what looks like to us crossed the line a number of times,
00:04:30.960 but two very curious stories out of her office.
00:04:33.780 One, as soon as you were able to regain your position as border czar,
00:04:39.800 AOC had a criminal alien who was working in her congressional staff flee the country.
00:04:46.360 Now, I can't quite square how that's possible.
00:04:49.660 How is somebody allowed to be a criminal alien in this country 1.00
00:04:52.380 and then go work in Congress where you have access to classified material
00:04:55.580 and you have access to a lot of important information?
00:04:58.100 Then AOC has gone on and obviously taught publicly illegal aliens how to avoid ICE.
00:05:04.820 She's done this with some of her colleagues in the squad.
00:05:08.360 Here's the article of the criminal alien staffer that AOC had on staff.
00:05:11.960 Maybe you could just start here as an explainer to me and to this audience.
00:05:18.240 How is this even possible?
00:05:20.960 It's not possible.
00:05:22.000 And I know that's being looked at.
00:05:24.720 I can't comment on past that.
00:05:26.340 I'm aware of it.
00:05:27.340 We've asked ICE to drill in on that case.
00:05:30.880 It's my information that they're actually – I can't really comment on.
00:05:37.040 We don't know if it was illegal status or not at this point.
00:05:39.540 It looks like it might have been temporary status,
00:05:41.300 but I can't comment on the case because it's under investigation.
00:05:43.660 As far as her educating people on how to evade ICE arrest, she's really educating them on how to be prosecuted
00:05:52.340 because there are statutes on the books, federal statute, when you knowingly hinder your removal.
00:05:58.360 That's a crime.
00:05:59.600 When you take steps to prevent your removal after being removed by a federal judge, it's a crime.
00:06:06.400 We have instructed ICE to start prosecuting these cases.
00:06:09.960 If you don't want to open the door and we have a final order of removal,
00:06:14.620 if you don't want to participate in getting travel documents for your home nation,
00:06:18.340 you take steps to hinder your own removal, that it's a crime, you'll be prosecuted.
00:06:23.280 So she can claim she's educating people on their constitutional rights. 1.00
00:06:27.200 I would argue she's educating many people on how to be prosecuted. 0.84
00:06:30.740 You're going to see that happening.
00:06:32.720 Doesn't sound like it's going to be that easy of a summer for AOC.
00:06:36.740 Folks, please be sure to join us tonight and each and every night at 6 p.m. Eastern time for The Great America Show.
00:06:41.600 We'll see you tonight.
00:06:42.500 Rumble, YouTube, Twitter, wherever you join us, 6 p.m. Eastern.
00:06:45.660 We'll see you there.
00:06:46.240 I'm John Fossett with this Midday Update.
00:06:47.960 Happy Monday, folks.
