00:02:32.120 I have to say, to begin with, right now there's a contest between your Speaker of the House of Representatives,

00:02:40.640 Mike Johnson and the forces of liberty, the heartbeat of the country, the American people.

00:02:49.600 He wants the FBI, the CIA, you name it, to spy on American citizens at will.

00:02:58.680 Your thoughts, I know, are on point and strongly opposed to that.

00:03:05.860 Give us your sense of this moment right now, if you would, Congressman.

00:03:09.280 Well, as so many times over the last few years that I've been in Congress and that I've had the opportunity to talk to you, Lou,

00:03:18.820 where once again, another inflection point, the surveillance state, which all Americans know exists.

00:03:28.920 If you're right or left in your political leanings, you have watched the surveillance state watch into people's lives and basically try to take control of them.

00:03:40.520 So what we have going on here is is the Speaker has, for whatever reason, acquiesced into the intelligence community who likes to be able to surveil U.S.

00:03:53.920 persons, people who are legally in this country, citizens, you know.

00:03:57.340 So when I think about it, what might we do?

00:04:02.480 Well, for one thing, you could have gotten rid of completely a FISA authority.

00:04:06.120 But then there's but there's other ways that they would get around it.

00:04:15.120 In just talking to one of my friends who is in the intelligence communities, on the intelligence committee here, he said, Andy, we should just take away all FISA authority away from the FBI.

00:04:30.660 Let's go ahead and do it.

00:04:31.940 But they won't do that.

00:04:34.180 Because when you think about it, that makes sense, because currently CIA, NSA, they have no legal authority to surveil American citizens.

00:04:42.740 And the FBI is using the FISA to abuse the FISA authorities to actually, you know, basically surveil Americans and search their records and stuff.

00:04:55.460 Why don't we, why don't we, why don't we, that would be one thing to do.

00:05:00.120 My bill, my underlying bill that the speaker basically killed, that would have had massive reforms in it.

00:05:09.440 And now what they do is they've got this kind of consensus bill.

00:05:12.900 And they told us, and we said, well, we'll acquiesce in some of those things because you've got punishment against people who abuse FISA, et cetera.

00:05:21.980 But here's the deal.

00:05:22.820 They told us we would get certain amendments would be brought to the floor.

00:05:27.660 So like a warrant amendment, my warrant amendment, that would say you cannot surveil us.

00:05:32.220 You can't query or investigate an American person without a warrant.

00:05:38.540 I mean, because that's just straightforward.

00:05:42.320 Well, they basically, then the speaker came out and basically scotched that.

00:06:32.100 He voted with me for a much broader warrant requirement that former rep Justin Amash brought.

00:06:41.980 He was with us on removing FISA authority.

00:06:44.920 He voted just last summer on the data broker exception bill to stop them from buying data so they could go forward.

00:06:53.320 But he voted with us on that and then became speaker and went this this other way.

00:06:57.760 And the other thing, too, is I blackmailed.

00:07:00.820 Is he being blackmailed?

00:07:01.940 Because there's I cannot find another rational explanation for his conversion and his now bending of the knee.

00:07:11.060 He is prostrate across the ground now begging for a surrender of American constitutional rights before the great IEC, the intelligence community and the deep state.

00:08:15.060 If it is being blackmailed, he would have there would have only been one area.

00:11:06.560 And let's turn to, if we may, right now, you say that Speaker Johnson is captured in fear.

00:11:15.720 Fear of the deep state, fear of the foreign enemies, fear of the donor class, the swamp.

00:11:25.960 What is he afraid of?

00:11:28.120 Well, I think it's the D.C. cartel.

00:11:30.580 So the D.C. cartel consists of the bureaucrats who come in and gaslight the American public and the gaslight members of Congress.

00:11:38.640 And they have no accountability because Congress refuses to rein them in on funding.

00:11:44.480 The D.C. cartel consists of the K Street lobbyists, which are the donors, the big donors who threaten people and say, oh, you know, you're not going to get any money.

00:11:54.180 Look, I mean, the PACs don't give me any money because they know that I can't be bought.

00:12:01.360 You know, I won't succumb to that.

00:12:02.780 But so so he feels this obligation that he needs to raise a bunch of money.

00:12:10.680 Then you get then you get some of these other bureaucrats like the intelligence community who come in and scare the bejeebies out of you.

00:13:01.360 And that's that's what I think captures not just Speaker Johnson, but I think it actually captures a lot of the members of Congress, both sides of the aisle.

00:13:09.260 Well, let's take up a couple of examples of what you're talking about when you start talking about the, if you will, the fear machine in the in the institution of the CIA.

00:13:22.580 Almost two weeks ago, they said that there would be within 48 hours an attack on Israel.

00:13:29.800 Bold face, straightforward, no qualification, no equivocation.

00:13:33.420 That's going to happen.

00:13:35.380 And here we are in the week following, obviously, some 10 days have transpired.

00:13:42.060 And suddenly we don't have any explanation.

00:13:45.560 The clandestine agency that has been so forward, public and outrageously wrong.

00:13:51.260 No one is holding them to account in that media, of course.

00:13:54.520 And certainly not enough people, in my opinion, in the Republican Party have pointed out that this is pure fear tactics, pure propaganda, disinformation, misinformation and for a political purpose, which is to achieve Biden's aim of getting Netanyahu to declare a unilateral ceasefire and let Hamas win.

00:14:15.680 Netanyahu isn't playing, but no one in the national media is pointing out how strong he has been, how absolute resolute Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government is in this moment when they're being attacked by the United Nations, almost every nation within it.

00:14:32.840 And, of course, by their strongest ally, the United States, in the form of the Biden regime.

00:14:38.580 It's outrageous.

00:14:46.020 So six weeks ago, we were ready to go to the floor on a Wednesday.

00:14:54.780 So we're going to go on the floor Wednesday.

00:14:56.400 We're going to put together this FISA bill.

00:14:59.160 But we had the votes for a warrant requirement, which is a massive change.

00:15:05.040 And it gets us back to the constitutional prescriptions.

00:15:08.000 We had another Warren Davidson's Fourth Amendment's not for sale act.

00:15:12.060 We were ready to go on that as an amendment.

00:15:13.700 We had another couple of amendments.

00:15:14.980 Well, what happened?

00:15:16.580 The Intelligence Committee chairman, Mike Turner, created an international incident.

00:15:23.500 He put out saying, we have new intelligence.

00:15:26.260 There's this massive threat.

00:15:27.980 And we need to do it.

00:15:29.400 Well, so they so the speaker gets worried and he pulls the bill.

00:15:34.880 And then we go get the classified briefing.

00:15:37.040 And I won't say who who pulls the bill.

00:15:40.040 The speaker in response to the misinformation and deflection of Mike Turner, who caused an international incident that, you know, thank goodness that the Democrat ranking members came out and said, this is a nothing burger.

00:15:55.560 We see this thing two or three times a month at least.

00:15:59.020 And by the way, I can't tell you what's in it because it was classified.

00:16:01.880 I had to go to the classified room to read it.

00:16:04.800 And we're sitting around the table.

00:16:08.020 And we're like, what what what is what what's the incident?

00:16:16.380 And then they let me be straightforward, if I may, because I think your rules of conduct and consideration will prove it, preempt you if you felt the way I do.

00:16:27.300 Mike Turner is a absolutely unprincipled tool of the intelligence community and the deep state.

00:16:36.120 And the man has no honor, no integrity whatsoever.

00:16:40.300 And he is he he is abhorrent in every manner one could imagine for a chairman of a committee so important as that of intelligence.

00:16:49.460 In point of fact, for any leadership position at all within actually any membership in the United States Congress, in my opinion.

00:16:59.300 I called for his removal as the committee chairman of Intel.

00:17:03.160 He shouldn't be sitting on that.

00:17:06.780 When you put out the information that he did based on what we saw, didn't you know that it was done for political leverage purpose?

00:17:21.840 You were trying to prevent legislation from passing that you believed was was not what in the best interest of the intelligence community.

00:17:34.360 And you and you basically forfeit your shot, in my opinion, to be the the chairman of the intelligence committee, which is, by the way, that's the only committee in Congress that you serve strictly at the privilege of the speaker of the House.

00:17:50.840 And Mike Johnson, and Mike Johnson could have, would have, I don't know if he would have, but he certainly should have removed him.

00:17:59.460 I mean, they get they get pissed off because we take down a rule and yet and force them to to actually negotiate and work in good faith and that type of thing.

00:20:18.320 They are existential issues that you all are dealing with right now.

00:20:52.560 Nineteen of us voted to take down the rule yesterday.

00:20:55.180 We're we're working now to see if if there's a way to get some meaning, something meaningful done on on FISA,

00:21:01.800 because otherwise I'm afraid they're going to just give us the clean reauthorization or the bill.

00:21:06.660 So the consensus bill that they have, Lou, just think about this.

00:21:10.260 It has some reforms in there.

00:21:11.620 More they tell you, oh, it's fifty six, fifty six reforms there.

00:21:16.500 That's that's the quantity.

00:21:18.000 There's just maybe two or three reforms worth of Tinker's Dam in that thing, because because that's that's that's just the way they operate.

00:21:25.600 But here's the way to think of it.

00:21:26.940 They put in a provision in there that in five years, when you come back to the reauthorization, by the way, they do that five years and it stretches beyond any the next administration.

00:21:37.020 So, no, you can't get a change.

00:21:38.400 But but in that five years, when that's over, all the ostensible reforms go away and you revert back to the FISA authorities that you have pre reforms that that's absurd.

00:21:51.360 And that's what we face.

00:21:52.840 And that's and that's that I mean, and nobody's talking about that.

00:21:56.960 The media doesn't get that.

00:21:58.080 They're not going to talk about that and say, well, or question the speaker.

00:22:01.400 Well, why is that there?

00:22:02.440 That's pretty weird because it is weird.

00:22:05.020 And and we're talking about performance.

00:22:13.380 You see it in this this notion of forming essentially a coalition government with the Democrats where where the Democrats are called in to to bail out the speaker every time.

00:22:33.120 That's that's a coalition government like Europe.

00:22:36.220 And that that's the type of thing where I find myself saying, don't get mad at me for wanting a process that's supposed to be Republican nature.

00:22:45.280 Don't tell me I'm not part of a team when the when my team is my constituents.

00:22:52.220 My team is my family.

00:22:53.820 My team is the American Constitution and the American people.

00:22:58.240 My team isn't a bunch of party folks who are coming in there and and getting mad at us and saying, oh, you're forcing us to do things we don't want to do.

00:23:10.520 We're going to do all we can to make sure we get good policy through and try to protect the republic.

00:23:15.940 Well, because of your opposition to so much of what is in that that legislation, the so-called reauthorization, the American people have a far better understanding of what the stakes are and how outrageous it is.

00:23:33.720 But I think at bedrock, this comes down to a couple of things.

00:23:37.120 One is, to me at least, I believe it means that the FBI and in no respect should ever be engaged in spying on U.S. citizens.

00:23:47.800 They should be no part of the national security apparatus.

00:23:52.520 The intelligence community take the national security division right out of the FBI, put them back into law enforcement and get them the hell away from politics. 0.59

00:24:00.960 And in every instance that they've had an opportunity to use those powers of surveillance, they've shredded the Constitution.

00:24:09.420 They've used it for political purposes and in support of the Marxist Dems.

00:24:15.060 But whether they were Marxists or whether they were conservatives, they're the wrong people to have in our political system trampling the Constitution.

00:24:23.720 Your thoughts?

00:24:24.360 Yeah, I look, I've said for a long time that the FBI needs to either be totally reformulated.

00:24:35.060 You need to take certain divisions out of the FBI that they don't need to have the broad authorities that they have.

00:24:42.900 We need to decriminalize a lot of stuff at the federal level, which belongs more aptly in state level prosecution and investigation.

00:24:50.760 And basically what happens is as we do that, then they say, well, you're anti-police.

00:24:58.160 No, I'm not anti-police.

00:24:59.320 I'm not anti-rule of law.

00:25:00.820 What I am is pro-Constitution, pro-freedom.

00:25:04.000 And let's go forward with that.

00:25:05.860 And you know what they did?

00:25:07.200 When I talk about this, I'm talking about a minority of my Republican colleagues together with the Democrats.

00:25:12.460 They just gave another $200 million for a new facility to the FBI.

00:25:18.420 That's what they did instead of actually holding the FBI accountable.

00:25:23.080 And my friend from the IC Intelligence Committee yesterday who said, Andy, we just need to take away any authority in this in this area from the FBI.
