00:01:15.040 Hello, everybody.
00:01:24.360 This is The Great America Show, and I'm Lou Dobbs.
00:01:27.420 Thank you for being with us.
00:01:29.020 If you watch any major news network over the weekend, you would have noticed the absence of three major politicians.
00:01:36.040 All Republicans.
00:01:36.920 House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith.
00:01:46.200 All three committees involved in the investigation of the Biden crime family.
00:01:51.020 There was, however, plenty of rhino House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
00:01:55.900 McCarthy made his weekly appearance on Fox News, though, where he was asked about Congressman Matt Gaetz's threat to remove McCarthy because he broke his promises to the Freedom Caucus.
00:02:07.720 The Speaker didn't deny that, but he did say Gaetz must want to work with nasty Adam Schiff and the Marxist Dems.
00:02:15.220 If you did a motion to vacate, you would have to, a handful of Republicans, work with Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, Ihan Omar to remove the Speaker.
00:02:24.800 And it would be exactly what the President wants because it would shut down.
00:02:29.660 How would we, you know all the way we went through in January, how would we ever select the Speaker?
00:02:34.080 I would stay and we'd go through it so there would be no investigation.
00:02:36.820 Notice McCarthy makes no mention of the 30-day spending delay deal he wants to make with the Marxist Dems in order to postpone a government shutdown.
00:02:47.120 McCarthy clearly terrified of the prospect of being publicly humiliated by a motion to vacate.
00:02:54.280 McCarthy did finally acknowledge, though, President Trump will be the 2024 nominee.
00:03:00.400 Rhino McCarthy stopped just short, though, of endorsing Donald Trump.
00:03:04.880 President Trump is stronger today than he was in 2016 or 2020, and there's a reason why.
00:03:10.180 They saw the policies of what he was able to do with America, putting America first, making our economy stronger.
00:03:17.180 We didn't have inflation.
00:03:18.820 We didn't have these battles around the world.
00:03:21.340 We didn't look weak around the world.
00:03:23.680 The big story in the Senate, the majority leader of the Marxist Dems again retreating to the lowest common denominator.
00:03:30.580 Pathetic Chuck Schumer waiving the dress code for members on the Senate floor.
00:03:36.280 The new rule change will allow John Fetterman to go on that Senate floor dressed like a slob in gym shorts and a hoodie.
00:03:45.000 The rule only applies, though, to Senate members, all Senate staff still required to maintain business attire while on the floor.
00:03:52.960 Turning now to the latest drama from the Biden family, Hunter Biden has filed a lawsuit against his father's government,
00:04:01.140 against his father's Marxist Dem regime, against the Internal Revenue Service,
00:04:06.720 alleging the two whistleblowers from the agency improperly disclosed Hunter's personal information to Congress.
00:04:13.960 The attorney for those whistleblowers say they had all the protections they need to come forward as whistleblowers.
00:04:21.180 He says Gary Shapley decided to blow the whistle when he realized U.S. Attorney David Weiss was protecting Hunter Biden.
00:04:30.320 Special Agent Shapley made disclosures that are protected by the whistleblower law throughout his time working on this case.
00:04:36.020 And interviews by Congress with his second-level supervisor, Michael Baddorf, confirmed that just in the last week.
00:04:42.520 They were aware of this.
00:04:43.440 There actually was not a lot of pushback within his agency.
00:04:46.680 The IRS supervision supervisors either supported him in what he was doing or those that didn't like it really backed away from the case and weren't involved.
00:04:55.100 It wasn't until he disclosed his concerns to U.S. Attorney David Weiss that there began to be problems for him.
00:05:01.000 And that's when Weiss began retaliating against him.
00:05:03.820 And that's what set him on this path of deciding to come forward, both the retaliation and the knowledge that, you know,
00:05:09.700 as Weiss disclosed, Biden-appointed U.S. attorneys were blocking charges from being brought against Hunter Biden.
00:05:15.640 There's some sort of psychotic break in the collective minds of the Biden regime.
00:05:20.080 This lawsuit is they attack, harass, and persecute President Trump, even for his taxes, for which there was no underlying crime at all.
00:05:28.700 Well, joining us now to take all of this up and much more is the founder of the Article 3 Project, Mike Davis.
00:05:35.380 Mike, great to have you back with us.
00:05:37.300 We appreciate it.
00:05:38.560 Let's start, if we may, with your recent remarks and an article talking about don't be fooled by Hunter Biden's indictment.
00:05:45.780 Most are cheering that indictment, Mike.
00:05:48.000 Finally, after five years, he gets indicted.
00:05:51.280 But you say, don't be fooled.
00:05:53.360 You're thinking.
00:05:54.460 Well, I'll tell you this, David Weiss, that people say he's the Trump U.S. attorney.
00:05:58.640 I was the chief counsel for nominations on the Senate Judiciary Committee when David Weiss's nomination went through.
00:06:05.680 And I'll tell you, he is handpicked by both Democrats, home state senators in Delaware.
00:06:13.860 That's how the bogus blue slip process has worked in the Senate for the last more than 100 years, where the home state senators get to hand select the U.S. attorney who could prosecute them for corruption,
00:06:29.080 the district court judge who would oversee their corruption trial, and the U.S. marshal who would escort these home state senators to prison.
00:06:37.800 David Weiss has proven that he is a Biden champion over the last several years.
00:06:45.060 He got evidence deemed credible by the Pittsburgh U.S. attorney that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden, the Biden family, were taking federal bribes, allegedly, and did nothing about this.
00:06:57.860 He has protected Hunter Biden for many months on these gun charges, tax evasion charges, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act charges, wire-fried charges.
00:07:13.240 The only charge—so he let the statute of limitations expire on Hunter Biden—on two years of Hunter Biden's tax evasion charges for millions of dollars.
00:07:23.060 He was trying to—he was trying to come up with a sweetheart deal with Hunter, where Hunter was going to plead guilty to this gun charge with a diversion agreement,
00:07:32.280 so the gun charge would go away, and he wouldn't have to spend a day in jail.
00:07:37.220 And this diversion agreement had this secret backdoor pardon for Hunter on every possible crime, it appears.
00:07:43.960 This Delaware district judge, to her great credit, smoked this out, and now David Weiss is protecting Hunter Biden again,
00:07:55.300 because if they—if the House Republicans would have known about this backdoor pardon,
00:08:01.840 Hunter Biden wouldn't be able to plead the Fifth Immunity against—or Fifth Amendment against—the right against self-incrimination,
00:08:08.780 and he could have been hauled before these House oversight committees to testify.
00:08:13.840 He could have—they could have made him produce his documents and made him produce his testimony.
00:08:18.860 But now, with this sweetheart deal out the way, now what Hunter Biden can say is,
00:08:25.040 I'm sorry, guys, I can't cooperate with the House right now because I have these pending charges against me and these pending allegations.
00:08:32.240 And what's going to happen is, after November 5th, 2024, Joe Biden is going to pardon Hunter,
00:08:40.980 and maybe even Joe Biden is going to pardon himself, and then David Weiss is either going to dismiss these federal charges with prejudice,
00:08:50.720 meaning they go away, or David Weiss is going to come to another sweetheart deal.
00:08:54.820 But all these charges—all these gun charges do is protect Hunter Biden, and more importantly,
00:09:01.600 they protect President Joe Biden, David Weiss's boss, during the election season, right?
00:09:09.160 So people need to understand that they should not be fooled about these charges.
00:09:14.120 And Hunter Biden has now filed suit against the Internal Revenue Service.
00:09:20.660 And in that lawsuit, he alleges that IRS agents illegally released his tax information from the laptop that he says isn't his.
00:09:31.340 Can you sort this out for us, Mike?
00:09:33.440 This is clearly a move by Hunter Biden and his high-priced, high-powered Democrat attorney, Abby Lowell.
00:09:46.020 They're trying to threaten and intimidate, retaliate against these IRS whistleblowers,
00:09:53.640 and they're trying to send a very stern message to other potential whistleblowers that if they come forward, they're going to pay a price.
00:10:02.800 And to me, this seems like obstruction of a congressional investigation to me.
00:10:07.560 This seems like obstruction of justice.
00:10:09.840 If you bring a frivolous lawsuit like this against the IRS because two of their IRS agents are doing their statutory duty,
00:10:19.980 federal statutory duty by blowing the whistle to Congress on this corruption and cover-up by the Biden IRS and the Biden Justice Department,
00:10:29.140 they should not face this kind of retaliation.
00:10:31.560 So let me ask you this, then.
00:10:35.600 Shouldn't the Ways and Means Committee, shouldn't the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee file every lawsuit,
00:10:43.620 every subpoena that they possibly can to knock down Abby Lowell and those fools who are going after the IRS in this thing
00:10:53.920 to intimidate whistleblowers?
00:10:57.140 As you say, it's obvious on its face what they're doing.
00:11:00.380 Yes. Remember, the attorney-client privilege does not cover illegal acts.
00:11:06.900 And so if Hunter Biden and his attorney, Abby Lowell, are conspiring to retaliate against whistleblowers
00:11:15.320 to intimidate witnesses or potential witnesses to obstruct justice, that is a crime.
00:11:21.660 That is not covered by the attorney-client privilege.
00:11:24.160 And so House Republicans should move forward immediately with subpoenas.
00:11:28.420 Take off the kid gloves, subpoena Hunter Biden immediately, make him come in for staff depositions,
00:11:35.000 make him bring in his documents, put him up for public hearings.
00:11:38.560 If he tries to claim the Fifth Amendment, I have said repeatedly that House Republicans should grant him use immunity.
00:11:47.980 That's because the House of Representatives has the power to do that.
00:11:51.580 And what that means is that he can't claim the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination because he's not going to face criminal jeopardy for his testimony.
00:12:00.740 Make him testify because I'm telling you what, we have a president of the United States who could be compromised by tens of millions of dollars,
00:12:10.200 $20 million and counting from China, from Russia, from Ukraine, from Romania, from other of these hellhole countries,
00:12:20.380 these trouble spots around the world.
00:12:21.720 So the president of the United States could be compromised.
00:12:23.780 It looks likely the president of the United States is compromised by these foreign bribes and other corruption.
00:12:30.280 And to the bottom of that, figuring out if our president is subject to blackmail, which it looks like he is because of these 17 audio recordings,
00:12:39.260 two with then-Vice President Joe Biden, 15 with Hunter, where they were shaking down a $10 million foreign bribe from Burisma.
00:12:47.120 And then then-Vice President Joe Biden threatened to cut off a billion dollars in USAID to the Burisma, to the Ukrainian's president,
00:12:56.900 Ukrainian aid saying that Ukrainian's president must fire the Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma and the Bidens.
00:13:03.560 And then Joe Biden went on TV and bragged about how he got this prosecutor fired.
00:13:07.800 He left off the part that he took a $10 million bribe allegedly to do it.
00:13:12.000 But regardless, the point is, is that getting to the bottom of whether the president of the United States is compromised
00:13:18.520 is a hell of a lot more important than sending a crackhead to jail for having a gun, a gun charge that the only charge that we went after Hunter on
00:13:29.260 is a gun charge that doesn't lead directly to Joe Biden.
00:13:33.940 And it's also the constitutionality of this gun charge is in doubt.
00:13:38.420 So even if Hunter is convicted, this charge could be thrown out by the courts.
00:13:43.320 It's going to be thrown out by a presidential pardon by Joe Biden.
00:13:47.520 It's going to be thrown out by a sweetheart plea deal or a motion to dismiss with prejudice by Weiss after the presidential election.
00:13:54.840 It's time for House Republicans to take off the kid gloves and start issuing subpoenas immediately.
00:14:01.200 And this may sound like a kid glove.
00:14:04.200 The Oversight Committee issuing a statement.
00:14:07.160 And interestingly, it wasn't a statement from the chair, James Comer, but rather the committee following Hunter Biden's announcement of that lawsuit against the IRS saying,
00:14:16.680 quote, witness intimidation is just another dirty tactic by the Hunter Biden legal team, end quote.
00:14:24.920 We're going to take that up right after this quick pause.
00:14:27.680 We stay with us as we talk with Mike Davis.
00:14:30.980 He is the head of the Article 3 project.
00:14:34.180 We'll be right back.
00:14:41.000 We're back.
00:14:41.840 We're talking with Mike Davis, the head of the Article 3 project.
00:14:45.500 And I want to say, Mike, first of all, I'd like to get your sense of why over the weekend, noticeably absent from the airwaves,
00:14:54.720 were Jim Jordan, chair of the Judiciary Committee, James Comer, the head of the Oversight Committee,
00:15:01.920 and Jason Smith, the head of the Ways and Means Committee, the three primary investigating committees,
00:15:07.860 along with the subcommittee and the Judiciary Weaponization of the Government Committee subcommittee,
00:15:13.600 headed also by Jim Jordan.
00:15:15.080 But front and center, one voice we heard, and that was Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy.
00:15:23.260 It's sort of strange to see him suddenly talking because he's been dodging the very idea of impeaching Joe Biden for months.
00:15:31.640 Your thoughts?
00:15:32.280 I would say it's better late than never, and House Republicans need to understand that we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
00:15:42.780 We can – the House of Representatives can do its constitutional duty, most solemn constitutional duty,
00:15:50.080 to open an impeachment inquiry and figure out if the President of the United States is compromised by tens of millions of dollars
00:15:58.000 in foreign bribes and other corruption and is subject to blackmail.
00:16:02.180 That is – I can't think of a more important job for the House Republicans right now than to get to the bottom of that.
00:16:08.660 That being compromised, taking foreign bribes and being compromised and having blackmail on you as the President of the United States leads to very dangerous consequences for the United States.
00:16:19.660 If you think about this, that $10 million burisma bribe with the Bidens, alleged bribe with the Bidens,
00:16:26.860 has led to a 10,000 times return for Ukraine, where we've spent $100 billion in U.S. taxpayer money sending it over to Ukraine
00:16:38.260 so these Ukrainian oligarchs can buy their yachts and, you know, putting America in a proxy war with a nuclear superpower that could lead to world annihilation over a, you know,
00:16:51.640 over a dispute between Ukraine and Russia over three Russian-speaking providences in eastern Ukraine.
00:17:00.120 It's a very dangerous situation we're in. Think about it this way.
00:17:03.620 Basically, President Obama put Vice President Biden in charge of Ukraine.
00:17:09.800 The Bidens went on the take, and then Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, took Crimea.
00:17:18.460 Yeah, it's – and it looks like we're getting just exactly that treatment, and Biden putting in charge for the Ukraine recovery.
00:17:29.280 One of the – well, she was the biggest donor for Barack Obama.
00:17:33.120 She is a powerhouse in the Marxist-Stimm party, Penny Pritzker.
00:17:39.620 What is your reaction to that appointment, and what does it portend?
00:17:43.700 Well, I mean, it just shows – the Ukraine problem is a Biden problem because of his weakness.
00:17:48.660 Putin smelled Biden's – then Vice President Biden's – corruption and weakness.
00:17:54.780 During the Obama administration, it took Crimea.
00:17:57.120 We had four years of peace and prosperity in Ukraine under Trump where Putin wouldn't even think about trying to get aggressive with Ukraine.
00:18:05.240 China wouldn't even think about being – getting aggressive with Taiwan under Trump.
00:18:09.720 And then the second Biden is back, Putin again wants to take Biden's lunch and take the rest of Ukraine.
00:18:18.620 It put us into a dangerous, very dangerous situation.
00:18:22.120 I would say to these Ukrainian flag wavers, they're – you know, they've gone from their BLM signs to their COVID signs to their global climate change signs.
00:18:32.980 Now they have their Ukraine signs.
00:18:34.560 I would say – I would ask them this.
00:18:36.280 How many of them are willing to sacrifice a loved one, let alone one paycheck, to go save Ukraine?
00:18:44.280 And I don't think any of them would be willing to do that.
00:18:46.440 They're willing to sacrifice other people's loved ones and other people's paychecks to do that, but they're not willing to sacrifice their own.
00:18:54.240 I would say that Putin's a monster.
00:18:55.780 It's terrible what he's doing in Ukraine.
00:18:57.660 He's causing a lot of carnage.
00:19:00.780 But America's interests are not aligned with Ukraine's interest.
00:19:04.780 Ukraine has everything to lose.
00:19:07.860 They have every incentive to drag America into World War III to save Ukraine, right?
00:19:14.700 America does not have everything to lose in Ukraine, not even close.
00:19:19.220 And so our interests are not aligned.
00:19:21.200 And this is insane that we're in this proxy war and spending $100 billion or more, and it's the uniparty behind this.
00:19:27.440 And guess what?
00:19:28.120 Now China smells Putin – or smells Biden's weakness after the disaster of Afghanistan withdrawal after seeing how incompetent Biden has been in Ukraine.
00:19:38.360 And we could have a situation where Russia is on the march in Ukraine and China is on the march in Taiwan.
00:19:45.620 And hell, we can't even find a fighter jet, a stealth fighter jet that's been flying around in the air after the pilot ejected.
00:19:54.280 How the hell are we going to win a two-front war with Russia and China?
00:19:58.540 A very good question.
00:19:59.940 And how the hell can we win any conflict with this impaired, compromised puppet president in the Oval Office?
00:20:09.300 I mean, the Marxist Dems have a lot to answer for and a lot to atone for in the utter act of contempt for this country to put two flawed and absolutely feeble personalities in the two most powerful jobs in the country.
00:20:28.160 Kamala Harris is vice president and Biden is president.
00:20:31.960 It's sickening to see what they've done, and they should be held accountable for that.
00:20:35.800 I hope they will.
00:20:36.720 But the way the Republicans work, probably not.
00:20:40.680 To see the Bidens as if they didn't have a care in the world right now, Mike, Biden wishing Republicans good luck in their impeachment efforts against him.
00:20:53.100 This is a strange attitude they've taken on.
00:20:56.400 I don't know if it's just a bluster putting a good face on it.
00:21:01.000 They seem awfully casual in their confidence.
00:21:03.520 Your thoughts?
00:21:05.060 Well, I mean, I think they know that the Republicans and the Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans are not going to remove President Biden from office.
00:21:15.000 But that's beside the point.
00:21:16.380 The impeachment process is a political process, and that's not just me saying that.
00:21:23.380 That's the founding fathers in Federalist No. 65 talking about impeachment being a political process.
00:21:29.580 And it is very important for the American people to see this evidence and understand that we have a corrupt, we have a compromised president of the United States.
00:21:40.420 And that leads to disastrous consequences for America around the world, as we're seeing in Ukraine with Russia, as we may see in Taiwan with China.
00:21:50.240 And the American people need to see this.
00:22:20.240 For the non-fraud of a businessman paying back sophisticated Wall Street banks in full with interest.
00:22:25.880 This is outright lawfare and election interference against President Trump for the 2024 presidential election.
00:22:34.320 And today's Democrats are Marxist.
00:22:36.600 As we've talked about many times, all they care about is power.
00:22:40.320 They are godless.
00:22:41.900 Their god is power on earth.
00:22:43.760 And that's all they care about.
00:22:45.020 And so what Republicans need to do is understand who we're dealing with here with the Marxist left.
00:22:51.120 These aren't liberals who love America.
00:22:52.700 These are Marxists who hate America.
00:22:55.160 They're not our parents' or grandparents' Democrat Party.
00:22:57.920 They don't believe in free speech.
00:22:59.320 They believe in censorship.
00:23:00.760 They don't believe in equality.
00:23:01.960 They believe in equity.
00:23:02.820 They don't believe in due process.
00:23:04.560 They believe in me too presumption of guilt and weaponized justice.
00:23:07.600 It's time for Republicans to take off the gloves, put on the brass knuckles, and break the Democrats' glass jaws legally and politically.
00:23:17.240 Didn't you get a kick out of Kevin McCarthy this weekend sounding so, so sweet and so soft-spoken and so even-handed talking about the corruption that is the Biden regime?
00:23:31.600 I mean, I had a physical reaction to that.
00:23:37.340 Stand up and speak as if you have some comprehension of the facts and understand the historical context in which we find ourselves and the necessity of doing precisely what you said.
00:23:50.180 This is not a time for weak-kneed, enfeebled, spineless, quote-unquote, leadership.
00:23:56.100 This is a time for direction and for result and consequence.
00:24:01.460 And I don't get the feeling that he has even a clue as to what I'm talking about.
00:24:06.620 Your thoughts?
00:24:07.700 I would say this about Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
00:24:10.780 I've been a critic of his for years on the big tech fight.
00:24:14.100 I defended him on the debt ceiling fight, and I took a lot of grief from you, Lou, and many other conservatives.
00:24:19.520 But the real test for Speaker Kevin McCarthy is the appropriations fight and the impeachment fight.
00:24:25.920 If he doesn't cut spending in the appropriations fight to pre-COVID levels and include key appropriations writers to put conservative policy waivers in the appropriations process,
00:24:37.600 if he doesn't move forward aggressively with this impeachment inquiry to figure out if our president of the United States is compromised,
00:24:44.340 I don't think Kevin McCarthy is going to have a job much longer.
00:24:47.320 We're talking with Mike Davis, the head of the Article III project.
00:24:51.260 Mike just brought up the spending bills.
00:24:55.060 The House has agreed, the conservatives, along with the rest of the House,
00:24:58.520 with a short-term bill to avoid the government shutdown that would have come on September 30th,
00:25:04.180 immediately following September 30th at midnight.
00:25:07.520 They have deferred it by one month, pushing it off to October 31st.
00:25:12.060 What has been the consequence, what is the likely consequence of what has been a tough-fought argument
00:25:19.640 and debate over what to do about runaway spending on the part of the Biden administration?
00:25:26.060 We're talking with Mike Davis.
00:25:27.200 We'll be right back.
00:25:27.940 Please stay with us.
00:25:34.660 We're back now with Mike Davis.
00:25:36.460 Mike, as we took a quick break there, this is another deferral by the Republicans,
00:25:44.300 letting Kevin McCarthy, in my opinion, off the hook,
00:25:47.540 but pushing off the deadline from September 30th, the end of the fiscal year,
00:25:52.740 to October 31st with a short-term spending bill.
00:25:55.680 Your reaction to it all?
00:25:57.940 So I published a Fox News opinion piece on this.
00:26:01.960 It was last week, I believe.
00:26:03.480 And what I laid out there is what I've been saying publicly for months.
00:26:08.860 I defended Kevin McCarthy on the debt ceiling fight because I don't think Americans were willing to let their 401ks crash to try to cut spending in an impossible debt ceiling fight.
00:26:21.720 But what I said in this piece was is that the real fight is the appropriations fight that's coming up here at the end of this month.
00:26:29.780 They have to fund government every year.
00:26:31.200 They have to fund government every year with the appropriations for discretionary spending.
00:26:34.700 What I said several months ago.
00:26:36.240 They're supposed to, but they haven't done that in years.
00:26:40.580 Yeah.
00:26:40.920 And that's the problem.
00:26:41.920 And as you know, Lou, this is how our federal deficit each year and our overall debt has ballooned to unsustainable levels,
00:26:50.700 where we're going to destroy our country, where interest rates are astronomical, where people can't afford to buy homes anymore, people can't afford to buy cars anymore.
00:27:00.960 The interest rates on student loans are unsustainable, where we have inflation at near historic highs, where people can't afford groceries, they can't afford gasoline.
00:27:13.340 This spending spree, this drunken spending spree by D.C. politicians, the Uniparty on both sides of the aisle is having very disastrous consequences for everyday Americans,
00:27:26.680 for real Americans and real America who actually have to live within their own budgets, who actually have to live from paycheck to paycheck.
00:27:34.920 And so what I said in this piece is people are willing to put people are not willing to tank their 401ks over a debt ceiling fight.
00:27:43.920 But people are certainly willing to put the federal government on a crash diet, including even shutting down the federal government if we do not get federal spending under control.
00:27:54.580 And that's where House Republicans need to be.
00:27:57.200 It's this.
00:27:58.300 Hey, President Biden.
00:27:59.740 Hey, Senate Democrats.
00:28:01.140 Hey, Uniparty Republicans.
00:28:02.360 We are going off of the cliff.
00:28:05.020 We cannot afford more deficit spending.
00:28:07.720 We cannot afford more debt.
00:28:09.240 We cannot afford more interest, higher interest rates.
00:28:11.780 We cannot afford higher inflation.
00:28:13.520 This is killing American families.
00:28:15.820 It's destroying America.
00:28:17.220 It's destroying our national security.
00:28:19.660 And so, therefore, we are going to cut federal spending back to pre-COVID levels where it's still too high, but at least back to pre-COVID levels.
00:28:29.220 And we are going to include these key appropriations writers in these House appropriations bills saying we're not going to spend federal funding on transgender surgeries for kids and prisoners.
00:28:41.060 We're not going to spend federal funding on this lawfare and election interference against President Trump before the presidential election.
00:28:48.700 We're not going to spend this federal funding on BLM and Antifa and these crazy left-wing policies.
00:28:57.360 Here is the budget we're going to give you.
00:28:59.540 Here is the diet we're going to give you, federal governments, with these ingredients to get you back on track.
00:29:05.640 And if Senate Democrats and President Biden don't like that diet, if they don't want to take 95% of what they want, if they want 105% of what they want, then too bad.
00:29:17.380 Shut down the damn government.
00:29:19.200 Shut down the government for several weeks.
00:29:21.500 It's going to have almost no impact on real Americans in the real world.
00:29:24.920 It would actually be a better thing if the federal government shuts down because it's such a destructive force right now.
00:29:30.480 Shut down the damn governments, and then when Senate Democrats and President Biden are ready to come back to the table and take their reduced spending back to pre-COVID levels with the Republican policy writers, then we can reopen the government.
00:29:47.040 Until then, keep the damn government shut down.
00:29:49.180 Well, as you know, and as you mentioned, I was absolutely opposed to the idea of the Republicans going after the debt ceiling and trying to exact their, you know, some discipline from the Democrats, which they've never succeeded at.
00:30:06.400 But I happen to agree with you at this point, it is worth it is worth the the energy, the political risks that are also certainly related to the shutdown of the government, because if we do not right now, are we are on our way to having 50% more national debt than we have GDP every year.
00:30:29.740 This is an unsustainable level of debt.
00:30:33.240 Everyone acknowledges it.
00:30:34.480 It is part of the reason that we have rates going market rates going higher.
00:30:38.800 The Federal Reserve is acting, in my opinion, to this point with constraint, which is unusual for this Jerome Powell led Fed.
00:30:46.380 I don't know what would happen if indeed he had to confront a fiscal policy conflict like you're describing.
00:30:55.540 But the truth is, we've got to stop it here and we've got to stop it now because you left something out of when you talked about the appropriations process.
00:31:04.480 The Republicans also have the ability to shut down the Department of Justice.
00:31:10.000 They have the ability to shut down the Department, the FBI and your mentor and the men for whom you work for many years, Senator Chuck Grassley coming out,
00:31:20.760 saying it's saying it's silly to defund the FBI because we need the FBI.
00:31:26.280 In my opinion, Senator Grassley couldn't be more wrong because what we're funding is pure evil and it's got to be stopped.
00:31:32.780 It's going to be unpleasant.
00:31:34.140 I understand his reticence.
00:31:35.540 I don't understand his failure to comprehend how important this moment in history is.
00:31:41.900 Do you agree?
00:31:43.760 Well, no, I mean, I'll tell you that Senator Chuck Grassley has been the fiercest critic of the FBI for decades,
00:31:50.640 going back to Ruby Ridge when Iowans got killed at Ruby Ridge.
00:31:54.560 And so what I think he wants to do is do this in a way where we can rip apart the political components of the FBI,
00:32:01.740 the FBI leadership and the Washington field office and these counter espionage and counterintelligence components of the FBI that are rogue and are terrible
00:32:10.700 and deal with the isolate those and deal with those separately from the other parts of the FBI,
00:32:17.800 the rank and file FBI agents around the country who are actually good Americans doing their jobs.
00:32:23.640 Right. And so, well, no, no, no, not right.
00:32:26.180 I mean, the last several times that they've gone out to arrest a person,
00:32:30.340 they've killed that person and they've killed them at six o'clock in the morning.
00:32:34.440 And a search warrant has become, in effect, a death warrant in the hands of the tactical squads of the FBI.
00:32:42.780 There is no sugarcoating this.
00:32:45.060 It is not just the Washington field office.
00:32:48.300 It is not just the leadership.
00:32:50.980 These corrupt values have been inculcated throughout the FBI,
00:32:56.080 not, by the way, just on the law enforcement arms that I'm talking about,
00:33:00.200 but also on the national defense directorate, if you will, of the FBI.
00:33:06.740 This is a FBI, Mike.
00:33:09.240 The problems are far more serious than you're intimating.
00:33:12.220 And they are pervasive and they are foundational.
00:33:16.140 And they have to be ripped apart because nothing else will indeed assure the American people of a return to integrity
00:33:24.500 on part of the most storied agency of the FBI.
00:33:28.300 It is criminal what they've done.
00:33:32.020 It's the fact that we have a couple of whistleblowers, perhaps a handful more from the FBI.
00:33:38.740 Out of that, the thousands of employees of the FBI is a testament to the corruption,
00:33:46.500 the pervasive corruption of that agency.
00:33:49.200 And I don't disagree that the FBI is corrupt.
00:33:54.500 It's structurally set up to be corrupt.
00:33:56.280 The problem with the FBI is you have one politically accountable leader of the FBI, the director.
00:34:02.040 Everyone else is a career employee.
00:34:04.120 And so they're protected from civil service laws.
00:34:06.240 They're protected from accountability.
00:34:08.120 They're protected from congressional oversight for the most part.
00:34:11.900 And that's the problem.
00:34:12.940 It is structurally set up to fail.
00:34:14.120 And this director has up to a 10-year term.
00:34:16.960 And so he thinks he's invincible.
00:34:19.160 And these, whether it's Comey or Chris Wray, these thugs get into these jobs.
00:34:24.220 These deep state thugs get into these jobs and they think that they're invincible.
00:34:27.460 And they largely are.
00:34:28.540 And I think that what needs to happen is I think the FBI needs to be wholly,
00:34:36.100 Vivek wants to take the FBI and Vivek Ramaswamy wants to take the FBI.
00:34:40.120 I don't care what, I've got to be honest with you, I don't care what Vivek Ramaswamy wants.
00:34:44.020 I really don't.
00:34:44.940 He's running for office.
00:34:46.100 That's fine.
00:34:47.180 I want to know what you think.
00:34:49.160 Because you have the knowledge, the experience, and the understanding of that place.
00:34:54.840 I want to hear your opinion on this.
00:34:56.580 Because you and I are disagreeing right now about something that I think
00:34:59.800 is critically important to the American people in this nation's future.
00:35:03.340 If the FBI stands as it is, and there's just the cosmetics of taking away top leadership
00:35:10.900 or a couple of field offices, I think that it will be the same thing all over again.
00:35:17.160 We have to deal not only with the National Security Division,
00:35:21.100 we also have to deal with the entire intelligence community.
00:35:24.500 They've been arranged and organized and arrayed against a sitting president.
00:35:28.860 They were part of an effort to frame a presidential candidate
00:35:34.280 and to intervene in the elections of 2020 and 22
00:35:39.040 because they refused to investigate known corruption in those two elections.
00:35:49.520 Yeah, I mean, I think the problem is that the FBI is structurally,
00:35:54.540 like I said, it's structurally set up to be too politically insulated
00:35:58.760 and is structurally set up to be weaponized.
00:36:01.260 I think we need to repeal a lot of what we did after 9-11.
00:36:04.880 I think we overreacted after 9-11 with the Patriot Act,
00:36:08.500 and we turned the FBI into a national security agency,
00:36:12.420 and then it became a domestic spying organization.
00:36:15.140 And that's the problem.
00:36:16.400 Then it's been politicized and weaponized.
00:36:18.780 So repeal a lot of the Patriot Act, refocus the FBI back to what its original mission was,
00:36:25.460 which is to take down crime and not to go after your political enemies
00:36:29.380 under the guise of national security.
00:36:31.620 We need to make the director, the deputy director, and the assistant director
00:36:36.880 presidentially appointed Senate-confirmed positions.
00:36:40.320 We need to make the senior leadership of the FBI Schedule A
00:36:43.840 so that they're a lot more easily fireable than they currently are.
00:36:48.740 We have FBI agents who are, you know, lying to Congress,
00:36:52.540 lying to investigators, get fired, and then they get reinstated with their back pay.
00:36:56.620 It's obscene what we're doing with the FBI.
00:36:59.500 And then go to work for MSNBC and CNN as contributors.
00:37:04.440 Well, it's good to see at least they contribute somewhere.
00:37:07.440 Unfortunately, they are contributing to the same line of ideological fervor as before.
00:37:12.180 Sure. Mike Davis, we thank you so much.
00:37:15.060 You get the final word here.
00:37:17.140 I want to thank you, Lou.
00:37:18.320 And I would say that if you look at this lawfare,
00:37:21.060 we've been talking about this for over a year, Lou,
00:37:24.140 and you and I have said this lawfare against President Trump
00:37:27.440 is going to backfire and backfire badly.
00:37:30.540 And guess what?
00:37:31.220 It has backfired and it has backfired badly.
00:37:33.560 We have President Trump, who has now taken the lead over Biden for November 5th, 2024.
00:37:40.240 It is critical that he gets a lead beyond the margin of fraud.
00:37:45.740 It's critical that the Republicans get their heads out of their behinds
00:37:50.360 and start getting election integrity in place with lawyers, with lawsuits, with injunctions.
00:37:57.980 And we need to start doing a better get out the vote operation.
00:38:01.300 Because if we lose this next election, our country is finished.
00:38:05.940 We're going to have Biden instead of Trump replacing Justice Clarence Thomas on the Supreme Court.
00:38:11.160 And then it's game over America.
00:38:13.740 There goes our God-given rights to speak, associate, to worship, to protect ourselves.
00:38:21.160 The politicized and weaponized justice systems will ramp up.
00:38:25.080 It won't just be Trump and his top aides anymore.
00:38:28.260 It will be all of us.
00:38:29.460 So it's time for Americans to wake up and understand how important this next election is.
00:38:34.900 Mike Davis, thanks so much for being with us.
00:38:37.220 Mike Davis, great American, director of the Article III Project,
