00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs, and this is The Great America Show. Welcome, and it's great to have you with us.
00:00:06.740 This coming Tuesday, it is Election Day, and it is so close now we can taste it.
00:00:12.620 Election Day is upon us, and if the pollsters are right, it will be election a la mode, sweet and delicious.
00:00:20.220 The RCP projections right now calling for somewhere around 50 seats for the Republicans in the House,
00:00:26.900 a margin in the Senate of three to four seats. Taking control of both the Senate and the House
00:00:32.760 is almost scary to think about. Nah, I don't think so. It's something to celebrate, even if prematurely.
00:00:39.580 So here we go. I can't help myself. Hallelujah. Glory be the Marxist dims are in free fall.
00:00:46.620 It seems everywhere in the country, the Republican candidates are surging,
00:00:50.580 and that red tsunami is building, ready to crash down on Election Day.
00:00:56.400 And helping a lot of those Republican candidates with their campaigns across the country
00:01:00.960 has been Senator Ted Cruz, out on the trail with those candidates just back from Arizona,
00:01:06.500 most recently helping out Carrie Lake and Blake Masters, Abe Hamaday, and Mark Bencham.
00:01:12.480 And Ted has a terrific podcast called Verdict with Ted Cruz.
00:01:16.680 And Senator Cruz has a new book out as well called Justice Corrupted, How the Left
00:01:21.660 Has Weaponized Our Legal System, something we talk about on this program quite often.
00:01:27.340 Senator, it is great to have you back with us here on The Great America Show.
00:01:31.360 Congratulations on your new book.
00:01:34.300 Well, the book, which came out last week, Justice Corrupted, How the Left Has Weaponized Our Legal System,
00:01:40.680 focuses on how Barack Obama and now Joe Biden have politicized the Department of Justice, the FBI, the IRS, the CIA,
00:01:50.320 the alphabet soup of federal agencies, and weaponized them and turned them into weapons being used to attack their political enemies.
00:01:58.100 And we saw this with Obama when he used the IRS to go after Tea Party groups and conservative groups
00:02:05.520 and pro-Israel groups and pro-life groups.
00:02:07.880 We saw it with the Obama DOJ when they stonewalled Congress and covered up for the IRS targeting
00:02:13.960 and defied congressional subpoenas and refused to prosecute contempt of Congress.
00:02:18.660 And when Trump became president, hardcore partisans burrowed down into senior career positions in those agencies
00:02:28.780 and spent four years waging war on Donald Trump personally and trying to stop the Trump agenda.
00:02:35.920 And now, under Joe Biden, that corruption is fully metastasized, and this Department of Justice and FBI is openly political.
00:02:44.460 Merrick Garland is the most political attorney general we have ever seen, and it is a profound threat both to rule of law
00:02:51.680 and to our individual liberty.
00:02:54.100 Lawfare.
00:02:55.440 We are watching the private sector as well as the Department of Justice, the FBI, and as you say, other agencies, including the IRS.
00:03:03.780 But now, with 87,000 new agents contemplated in the funding of the Inflation Reduction Act, I mean, it just doesn't stop with these people.
00:03:19.760 We have seen that the block put up against the student loan, I would call it executive order, it's an edict.
00:03:31.100 But this man is operating like an emperor, not a U.S. president.
00:03:36.920 What can be done?
00:03:39.440 Well, a lot can be done.
00:03:41.180 The first big step is going to be next Tuesday on Election Day, I think we're going to see not just a red wave but a tidal wave.
00:03:48.520 I think Republicans are going to retake both the House and the Senate.
00:03:51.300 When we do that next year, we need to have serious oversight of the Department of Justice, of the FBI, of the IRS, of all the agencies that have been weaponized.
00:04:01.140 We need to have the attorney general and the director of the FBI testifying under oath.
00:04:05.420 We need to have subpoenas. 0.99
00:04:07.100 One of the very first things we ought to do with a new majority is defund the 87,000 new IRS agents.
00:04:13.100 After that, I believe that we should impeach Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of Homeland Security, for absolute abdication of duty and refusal to secure the southern border.
00:04:23.500 And then we should impeach Merrick Garland.
00:04:25.800 This attorney general has done more damage to the integrity of the Department of Justice than any attorney general in history.
00:04:32.520 And I include in that John Mitchell, Nixon's attorney general, who resigned and disgraced and was prosecuted and went to jail.
00:04:40.260 Merrick Garland sent in the FBI to raid Donald Trump's home, the first time a former president's home has been raided in the history of our country.
00:04:48.000 He's sending FBI agents to raid the homes of pro-life activists with machine guns drawn at dawn, arresting them in front of their crying children.
00:04:56.480 And has directed the FBI to target parents, moms and dads who exercise their First Amendment rights at school boards to speak up against horrific policies.
00:05:07.960 All of those I discuss in great detail in the book, Justice Corrupted.
00:05:12.160 I walk you through exactly what's going on, take you behind the scenes and explain how Obama and now Biden have twisted what is supposed to be an apolitical law enforcement apparatus into their own personal stormtroopers for the White House and the DNC.
00:05:29.860 And in introducing the book, starting here with Ted Cruz in this interview, I mentioned the book, but I didn't mention the fact that we recommend it to everyone in the audience highly.
00:05:43.440 It is a terrific, terrific and timely subject, the likes of which I don't think could be bettered.
00:05:49.640 I just, as I look at Congress right now and I look at the Senate and you talk about oversight, I think why in the world has a judiciary committee in the Senate and the House, even under Republican rule, it has, neither committee has ever exercised at least since 2016 true oversight and those were Republican bodies.
00:06:14.880 What in the world has happened here?
00:06:16.800 Well, unfortunately, under Democrats, they have zero interest in exercising oversight.
00:06:22.880 They've abandoned any pretense at principle.
00:06:25.520 They are purely partisan.
00:06:26.680 It is all politics all the time.
00:06:29.060 In the last two years, I'm on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
00:06:31.700 We have had zero hearings about illegal immigration while we're facing the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country. 1.00
00:06:38.640 And that is a deliberate decision from their party, the Democrat Party, to refuse to enforce the law, to release illegal aliens.
00:06:45.840 4.4 million illegal aliens have crossed into this country under Joe Biden.
00:06:50.360 And that was a political decision by him.
00:06:52.540 And every single Democratic senator supports it.
00:06:55.980 They are complicit in it.
00:06:57.520 It's actually quite funny, Lou.
00:06:58.800 A bunch of them are running now for re-election, and they claim to want to secure the border.
00:07:03.560 But 100 percent of the time, when it comes time to a vote, they vote with Joe Biden in favor of open borders.
00:07:09.940 And it's one of the big reasons why this election is going to be such a tidal wave, because between inflation, crime, and the chaos at our southern border, people are fed up and want to change the path we're on.
00:07:21.620 And, of course, certainly everyone is concerned about electoral integrity, that you talk about the red tsunami, which I surely hope that you're correct in your prognostication. 0.91
00:07:34.640 But I'm also very concerned about the left.
00:07:37.520 We saw what they did in 2020.
00:07:39.460 We saw what the establishment of both parties, in fact, have done.
00:07:44.060 Corrupt elections.
00:07:45.620 The GOP allowed it to happen.
00:07:47.620 And we haven't seen much of a response for 2022.
00:07:50.360 Give us your sense of the integrity of this election and how confident you are in it.
00:07:59.660 Well, voter fraud is a real problem.
00:08:02.340 Election integrity is incredibly important.
00:08:04.700 I have spent decades fighting to secure our elections and protect election integrity.
00:08:11.020 In fact, when I was the Solicitor General of Texas, I led a coalition of states in front of the U.S. Supreme Court defending photo ID requirements for voting.
00:08:19.900 We won 6-3, a landmark decision where the court said protecting the integrity of people's votes is how you protect against votes being stolen.
00:08:29.040 It enhances democracy.
00:08:31.040 I've led the fight in the Senate against S-1, the Democrats' attempt to federalize elections and strike down every reasonable protection against voter fraud because today's Democratic Party tragically embraces voter fraud.
00:08:45.440 The book, Justice Corrupted, walks through in detail the history of voter fraud in this country.
00:08:52.320 It walks through how the Democrats have shifted from there was a time where, for example, Jimmy Carter chaired the Carter-Baker Commission that concluded voter fraud was real, that recommended photo IDs, that recommended banning ballot harvesting, that recommended limiting mail-in ballots.
00:09:09.440 It's that age of Democrat is now gone.
00:09:13.080 All Democrats today support voter fraud affirmatively, and what the book, Justice Corrupted, does is it takes you inside.
00:09:20.720 This is the first inside story about January 6th from someone who was in the middle of what was happening that day and in the weeks and months preceding it.
00:09:29.320 I was standing on the Senate floor leading the objection in the Senate to the certification of the election, calling for the appointment of an election commission to examine the evidence of voter fraud.
00:09:41.060 I describe how President Trump called and personally asked me to argue the case before the U.S. Supreme Court if the court had taken it.
00:09:48.200 And so if you want to know what was happening, if you want to know what we can do to stop voter fraud, Justice Corrupted gives you that information.
00:09:55.940 Absolutely, and I reported on much of that, as I think you know.
00:10:02.980 Let's turn to one thing here.
00:10:05.860 Corrupt elections, the GOP has had a checkered past in getting it fixed.
00:10:14.740 You happen to have unique skills, both as an attorney and as a public servant, a leader in the Senate.
00:10:23.880 If it came to this, would you be at all open to the idea of a majority leader?
00:10:32.520 Look, I am happy to serve in whatever capacity enables us to deliver on our promises.
00:10:38.940 What my focus right now, Lou, is I've been barnstorming the country.
00:10:43.340 I've been on a month-long, 17-state national bus tour campaigning all over the country trying to elect strong, principled conservatives to the Senate and the House.
00:10:52.440 I'm not on the ballot this cycle, so I'm spending all my time helping other candidates.
00:10:57.140 When we get there, when we have the majority, we've got to follow through and use the majority, and I'm going to use every lever I can to press my colleagues, to encourage them.
00:11:06.720 Let's do what we promised we would do.
00:11:09.080 Let's actually stand up and follow through on our commitments.
00:11:13.380 A terrific answer, and I'm not going to press you on that.
00:11:17.620 I'm going to take that answer in the spirit you offered the answer.
00:11:21.520 Let's turn to the Supreme Court itself, if we may.
00:11:24.740 The Supreme Court just blocked the transfer of President Trump's tax records to the January 6th committee.
00:11:36.040 That thrilled me, perhaps because so little has been done by this court in regard to protecting both the executive and executive privilege.
00:11:45.880 Your thoughts?
00:11:46.360 Well, the decision was a decision from the chief justice to temporarily delay the matter, so they have not made a decision on the merits.
00:11:55.300 I don't know if the court will decide the issue on the merits and what it will do, but I'm glad they have delayed it.
00:12:00.780 It's clear what the House Democrats are engaged in.
00:12:03.900 It's a political fishing expedition.
00:12:05.720 They're not interested in actual legislation.
00:12:08.540 What they want to do is dig through Donald Trump's tax returns and try to find something salacious.
00:12:13.520 It's the same thing the January 6th committee has been doing from day one.
00:12:18.060 The January 6th committee is not a real congressional committee.
00:12:21.140 It's a kangaroo court.
00:12:22.460 It's a typical committee.
00:12:24.160 You have people from both sides, and so when a witness testifies, you have cross-examination.
00:12:29.360 You have the opposing party questioning them.
00:12:31.820 In this instance, Nancy Pelosi said, sorry, Republicans, you can't pick the Republicans you want.
00:12:37.440 You can't actually put real Republicans who support President Trump on the committee. 0.99
00:12:41.560 We want to do a campaign commercial for the DNC, and so she put together only Democrats and then two essentially Democrats today, Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, who have decided they hate Trump so much that they will be the useful idiots supporting Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats. 0.95
00:13:01.520 And so every hearing, you've had no cross-examination, no actual real balance. 0.96
00:13:07.380 You've just had a political commercial running.
00:13:11.440 That's what they want to do with Trump's tax returns is engage in a political fishing expedition. 0.92
00:13:16.600 So I hope the court does not allow them to play games.
00:13:19.640 And I'm just encouraged that the chief justice took the action, at least preliminarily and temporarily, in the stay that he handed down here.
00:13:31.300 I want to turn quickly, too, to McConnell.
00:13:34.420 Well, he's withdrawn money for the first time that I'm aware of.
00:13:39.760 A majority leader, a minority leader in this case, has pulled money.
00:13:43.920 His PAC has pulled money from three Republican candidates, which is the same thing as putting that money, millions in the pockets of the Democratic opposition.
00:13:52.540 Do you have any thoughts you want to share with us on that?
00:13:54.840 Well, listen, I think it is unfortunate that in some of the races we've seen there has not been resources devoted where they need to be.
00:14:04.060 I can tell you I've been on the road.
00:14:05.760 I've been campaigning with Blake Masters in Arizona.
00:14:08.460 I think Blake Masters has a real shot at winning, even though he's being massively outspent in Arizona.
00:14:13.320 I was also campaigning with Kerry Lake, who I think is going to win governor in Arizona.
00:14:17.660 I think General Bolduc in New Hampshire has a real shot at winning.
00:14:21.560 Again, he's had not nearly the money needed to compete.
00:14:25.100 I think that's an enormous mistake because I think Maggie Hassan is very beatable.
00:14:30.520 I believe Adam Laxald in Nevada is likely to win.
00:14:34.400 I think he's our best pickup opportunity.
00:14:36.280 I've campaigned with Adam repeatedly.
00:14:38.280 I believe Herschel Walker is our second best pickup opportunity.
00:14:41.820 I've campaigned with Herschel repeatedly.
00:14:43.780 Unfortunately, Washington leadership, if there's a candidate that they perceive is too close to President Trump, they're pretty quick to pull the money from him, even if that means allowing a Democrat to win.
00:14:56.880 I think that's really short-sighted, and our objective should be saving the country, not engaging in interpersonal and internecine political squabbles between congressional leadership and Donald J. Trump.
00:15:09.920 Yeah, and I appreciate you saying that, and I'll just say, from my perspective, Dan McConnell's high to hell.
00:15:18.560 I mean, he is a traitor to the party and an appalling excuse to be in leadership, and he should be no part of leadership, in my opinion.
00:15:29.380 I want to compliment you, if I may, going straightforwardly after the president of one of the largest teachers' unions, the second largest teachers' union in the country, who wanted amnesty over the pandemic, and you said, hell no.
00:15:48.860 I've just got to tell you, Senator, thank you.
00:15:51.500 What the left has done with this pandemic is grossly immoral.
00:15:59.920 The shutdowns were immoral.
00:16:01.420 They destroyed small businesses.
00:16:02.900 They destroyed jobs.
00:16:03.880 They destroyed people's livelihoods.
00:16:05.520 They shut down churches.
00:16:06.720 But the single most immoral thing they did was shutting down schools.
00:16:10.860 For tens of millions of kids, they shut down school for over a year.
00:16:15.520 We now have the national testing results, and kids, their math scores plummeted, their reading scores plummeted.
00:16:22.240 The racial gap, the gap between black kids and white kids, grew by the largest amount in the history of our country.
00:16:29.280 And the political hacks at the teachers' unions, and Randy Weingarten is hack number one.
00:16:35.660 They're the ones that demanded that Joe Biden and the Democrats do this.
00:16:39.040 And Joe Biden and the Democrats, along with his puppet Fauci and the CDC, all happily obeyed those political instructions.
00:16:47.200 It was obvious they were hurting children.
00:16:49.600 They were doing it deliberately.
00:16:51.140 And I'll tell you, I have forced vote after vote on the Senate floor to try to stop this. 0.99
00:16:56.620 And every damn Democrat has voted in favor of these school shutdowns. 0.97
00:17:01.020 Every Democrat, a couple of months ago, Lou, I voted to stop the D.C. public schools from imposing a COVID vaccine mandate that would have thrown out of school 40% of the black kids in D.C. 0.99
00:17:19.080 It is immoral.
00:17:20.180 It is wrong.
00:17:21.040 And now they're saying, ooh, ooh, give me an amnesty.
00:17:23.740 I didn't mean to hurt these kids over and over and over again.
00:17:26.760 Well, they need to be held to account.
00:17:28.320 We need hearings, and we need people to be held accountable.
00:17:32.180 Thank you, Senator, for putting America first, those young people first.
00:17:37.880 And it's appalling that Dems are so responsible for so much trauma, and it's just outrageous.
00:17:51.080 We do have an opportunity to begin fixing it.
00:17:53.400 That starts on November 8.
00:17:54.600 Senator, I just want to say thank you for all you do for this great republic, what you're doing in these elections.
00:18:01.440 Your leadership is always both necessary and, I assure you, appreciated.
00:18:07.400 Senator Ted Cruz, his new book is Justice Corrupted, How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System.
00:18:12.820 We recommend it to you highly.
00:18:14.960 Senator, thanks for being with us here.
00:18:16.420 Thank you, Lou.
00:18:18.000 Appreciate all you do.
00:18:19.080 And let me encourage folks, go buy Justice Corrupted. 0.76
00:18:21.540 You can buy it on Amazon, wherever you get your books.
00:18:23.660 It gives you the inside story.
00:18:25.580 It tells the real story of what's happening.
00:18:27.880 It's fun.
00:18:28.480 It's readable.
00:18:29.380 You'll enjoy it.
00:18:30.260 And you'll also learn something about the attack that is happening directed at your rights.
00:18:35.920 Senator, Senator Cruz, laser focused, as we would expect.
00:18:40.440 Appreciate it so much.
00:18:41.540 God bless you.
00:18:42.360 God bless.
00:18:42.860 Thanks, everybody, and I recommend the senator's book to you highly.
00:18:48.080 It is entitled Justice Corrupted, How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System.

00:18:59.860 4th District congressional seat.

00:19:03.900 And until then, God bless you.
00:19:06.740 And may God bless America.
