00:01:14.940
Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs. Welcome to The Great America Show. Thank you for being
00:01:22.260
with us. Here we are, the primary season underway, the first in the nation primary. Today, the
00:01:28.540
New Hampshire primary. It's Donald Trump versus tricky Nikki Haley. In a new poll released by
00:01:34.140
Insider Advantage this week, DeSantis dropped out of the race and President Trump is top 60%
00:01:40.700
in this primary. That's what you would call huge. It's not just in New Hampshire. You could go down
00:01:47.040
the board of the primary states. President Trump is dominating. President Trump says the optimism for
00:01:52.960
his return is in part because Joe Biden has been so bad for America. I think that right now we have
00:02:00.640
the highest level of enthusiasm that anybody's ever seen ever. And the reason, the reason is they are so
00:02:12.360
bad. They are destroying our country. We have the worst president in the history of our country and
00:02:19.500
he's destroying, he is destroying our country. So the Trump train is rolling. Disappointing news
00:02:26.300
though. Actually, it's outrageous news out of the Supreme Court this week. In a 5-4 decision,
00:02:32.200
the Supreme Court siding with the Biden regime allowing Border Patrol agents to remove razor wire
00:02:38.280
that last year was installed by the state government. And in a 5-4 decision, John Roberts and Amy Coney
00:02:45.680
Barrett voted with the liberal justices. Justices Coney Barrett and Roberts are massive disappointments,
00:02:52.280
of course. And I'm beginning to think both Barrett and Roberts are severely compromised. Whether
00:02:58.380
they're being blackmailed or have been intimidated into submission to the Marxist left, something is
00:03:04.160
going on in that court. It's worth noting that Roberts and Barrett each have two adopted foreign-born
00:03:10.820
children. Roberts' children born in Ireland, Barrett's two were born in Haiti. Perhaps it's as simple as
00:03:17.760
these two justices have a soft spot for the plight of foreign-born children. But the vast majority of
00:03:24.440
illegals coming into this country illegally are military-age males. Not children, not women, but
00:03:31.740
military-age men. And why is that? Well, there's no sense speculating, but we understand the potential.
00:03:39.740
Maybe Texas should do what the Biden regime does, just ignore the Supreme Court ruling like Biden did with
00:03:46.360
the court's affirmative action ruling. And they're ruling against Biden's student loan forgiveness
00:03:51.780
program. He just simply ignored them, defied the court. Maybe Texas should do that. What do you think?
00:03:58.960
And a new bombshell report out this week alleging that just days before the Republicans took back
00:04:04.120
control of the House in 2022, over 100 encrypted files relating to the January 6th sham committee
00:04:12.620
were mysteriously deleted. Deleted, mind you. A digital forensic team brought in by the House
00:04:20.280
Administration Subcommittee on Oversight discovered that the data deletion occurred on January 1st of
00:04:27.780
2023. Congressman Barry Loudermilk, who's in charge of the panel, says there were multiple transcribed
00:04:35.240
interviews that were not archived in the data that were related to former White House and DHS
00:04:41.100
officials. Now, I wonder why Liz Cheney and the gang would have hidden things like that.
00:04:47.760
Loudermilk has written to the White House Counsel's Office, the Department of Homeland Security,
00:04:52.420
demanding the unedited and unredacted transcripts of the testimony, demanding that both the White House
00:04:59.740
and Homeland Security comply with that demand by tomorrow. Our guest is author and Republican
00:05:07.180
strategist Roger Stone. He's also the host of the Roger Stone Show on WABC Radio and host of the
00:05:14.760
Stone's Zone on Frank's Speech. Roger, great to have you with us. This is a beautiful thing,
00:05:20.240
watching the president facing the third place finisher in the Iowa caucuses today in New Hampshire.
00:05:27.720
Well, first of all, Governor Ron DeSantis, I think, gave in to the inevitable. Despite squeezing out
00:05:35.080
a distant second place finish in Iowa, he had receded to less than 5 percent of the vote in New
00:05:41.840
Hampshire. Looking back at it retrospectively, his candidacy never had a rationale. It was always,
00:05:48.960
I'm standing by equipment. If Trump, as I think he hoped, is eliminated either for some legal reason or
00:05:56.580
for some health reason or some other reason, maybe this will all drop into my lap. And that's not a
00:06:02.860
good reason to run for president. Donald Trump is more vital than I've ever seen him. I mean,
00:06:08.720
he's energized. He's always been a guy who liked a good fight. He's a brawler by nature. He's his best
00:06:15.560
under pressure. He's lost some weight. He looks great. His schedule, you know, having to continue to
00:06:22.800
loop back to New York for these various harassment court proceedings, a 26-year-old would be exhausted.
00:06:30.020
But he's standing up to it extraordinarily well. And DeSantis, I thought he looked better in his
00:06:38.820
withdrawal than he looked in months. He looked like a man who was relieved, to tell you the truth.
00:06:45.000
His endorsement of Trump was somewhat grudging, but at least he did it. He's got a lot of repair work to
00:06:52.200
do in Florida. Lou, I must tell you, he's hurt his standing. His approval ratings, job approval
00:06:58.560
ratings now below 50%, which is extraordinary for a guy who only a year ago won a massive
00:07:05.300
re-election victory. But I think his votes, to the extent that they existed in New Hampshire,
00:07:13.160
and he was down to 5%, the polling shows they kind of split down the middle. President Trump gets
00:07:19.280
half of them. Nicky Haley gets half of them. That means half of his voters were convinced that he
00:07:24.300
was an America First Republican. The other half saw through him and thought perhaps he had too much
00:07:30.180
flirtation with the establishment rhino wing of the party. He ends up, I think, not really impacting the
00:07:38.240
race. But now we finally have what we needed, a race between the real America First candidate,
00:07:44.960
a non-interventionist, the peace candidate, in my opinion. One can bring an end to the two
00:07:52.560
global conflicts we have in the Middle East and between Russia and Ukraine. And the neocon
00:08:01.580
candidate, the candidate of the Bush-Cheney wing of the party, whose foreign policy really, sadly,
00:08:09.140
is indistinguishable from that of Joe Biden. So we're going to have a classic contest. The contrast
00:08:16.600
could not be more different. And I think President Trump is headed towards a massive victory,
00:08:24.380
a 60-plus victory in New Hampshire, you know, tomorrow.
00:08:29.620
And to support that, CNN is saying that the margin looks more like 10 percent than 60 percent. So I'll
00:08:41.680
Well, look, polling is always dynamic. It changes. But the most recent polling that I saw that I have
00:08:49.940
confidence in shows him finishing around 67 percent of O. That would put Nicky Haley in the 30s.
00:08:56.080
I don't want to set expectations too high. Anything over 50 percent is victory. I think he's going to
00:09:02.840
do better than that. And then presumably, assuming Nicky Haley stays in the race, we move to South
00:09:11.260
Carolina. I think it was very, very effective for the Trump campaign to get Governor Henry McMaster of
00:09:18.020
South Carolina, also that state's lieutenant governor, a number of the members of his cabinet,
00:09:23.180
a number of South Carolina state legislatures to come to New Hampshire, a tax-sensitive state,
00:09:31.520
and tell people the story of Nicky Haley and her role in raising gas taxes in South Carolina.
00:09:38.960
I think it was extremely effective, also very effective to have Senator Tim Scott, who represents
00:09:45.300
South Carolina, endorsed Donald Trump in a great revivalist-type style, was a great video,
00:09:54.240
was a great endorsement. So the people who know Nicky Haley best are supporting Donald Trump.
00:10:02.120
No doubt about it. Next up, as you say, South Carolina, the president has a 30-point lead in
00:10:09.720
the last polling I looked at. And the issue of the day seems to be, who will he choose as vice
00:10:18.080
president? I mean, to think we're having this conversation before February. February is a
00:10:25.480
little early. January is ridiculous. But there it is. Your thoughts about who he should, in your
00:10:32.420
judgment, choose as vice president? Well, Lou, former President Richard Nixon once told me
00:10:39.160
that in looking for a vice president, don't look for someone who can help you because there is no
00:10:45.160
one who can help you. Look for someone who does not hurt you, which is interesting because the two
00:10:51.980
choices he made in 1960 were roundly criticized. Henry Cabot Lodge, who I think gets a bum rap,
00:10:58.800
actually. Great new book called The Last Brahmin by Luke Nictor. Lodge's efforts on behalf of that
00:11:06.380
ticket were far more vigorous than he was blamed for. But then, of course, the choice of Spiro Agnew.
00:11:15.060
Agnew at the time bridged what was a divide in the party between party moderates and party
00:11:22.040
conservatives. Agnew had elected governor of Maryland as a moderate Republican, yet he was acceptable in a
00:11:28.760
very gold water and John Tower and Strom Thurmond and so on. So in making the selection, Trump has
00:11:36.380
the unenviable task of, first of all, selecting someone who's qualified to be president. So in the
00:11:44.000
event of disaster, God forbid, that President Trump were incapacitated and couldn't do the job,
00:11:50.560
that this person is fully capable and has the experience and judgment and temperament to do the
00:11:55.820
job. Then, and only then, do you have to look at the political ramifications. And I would hope that
00:12:03.400
he would try to seek somebody who doesn't just reinforce his support among the voters he already
00:12:11.660
has. Someone who the base is satisfied. His base finds trustworthy in terms of sticking to the
00:12:19.380
America first, non-globalist agenda. Someone with the courage to stand up to the Marxist Dems,
00:12:27.200
as a friend of mine likes to call them. And at the same time, reaches out potentially to a constituency
00:12:34.220
where the president needs to add some votes. Now that's a very, very tall order. There's a lot of
00:12:40.940
good people being mentioned. Let me stress from the beginning, anything I say here, these are just my
00:12:47.180
opinions. Yes, I talk to the president, as you do, from time to time. But first of all, I would never
00:12:53.480
disclose those conversations. And he has not indicated to me any preference one way or another
00:13:00.000
in any regard. A report yesterday by, I think it was Sebastian Gorka, he seems like a nice guy,
00:13:08.500
saying Lee Zeldin, the former congressman from New York, has already been selected. I don't believe
00:13:15.720
that that's accurate. I also, as much as I like Mr. Zeldin and think he made a valiant race for governor
00:13:23.460
of New York, I'm not sure what constituency he would bring you that you don't already have.
00:13:31.540
Ben Carson is a solid choice. I like Ben Carson. He spoke at my church recently, gave a very, very great
00:13:39.660
inspirational church. He's solid. He's steady. He's loyal. He is an African-American. I think that's
00:13:46.800
not insignificant. When I went to pick up my dry cleaning the other day, I was kind of surprised
00:13:53.640
that the young woman, the clerk who worked there, recognized my name. And she said, Mr. Stone, can I
00:13:59.740
ask you a question? I said, sure. And she said, we're going to get Trump back in there. And I said,
00:14:04.940
are you a Trump supporter? She said, well, I didn't vote last time. In fact, I've never voted before
00:14:10.780
because I didn't think it made any difference. And I kind of learned that from my parents. They
00:14:16.140
didn't vote either. But let me tell you, my whole family's now registered. We're all going to be
00:14:20.080
voting for Trump because of what's happening in this country. Now, I admit that's anecdotal,
00:14:25.260
but the poll numbers reflect that. Trump is making historic inroads among African-Americans,
00:14:31.200
where even incremental improvement can change the dynamics of the entire federal election.
00:14:38.360
And we're going to take that up in the latest polling on the demographics in this race right
00:14:45.380
now. We're talking with Roger Stone. We're coming right back. Please stay with us.
00:14:53.540
Lou Dobbs here. I'm delighted to let you all know that the program Lou Dobbs tonight has returned to the air.
00:15:01.200
That's right. Lou Dobbs tonight is back. We're live each and every weeknight at 7 p.m. Eastern and
00:15:08.980
6 p.m. Central on rumble.com slash Lou Dobbs. That's rumble.com slash Lou Dobbs. I hope you'll be
00:15:18.320
joining us for Lou Dobbs tonight as our fight to save this country has only begun.
00:15:24.460
We're back now with Roger Stone. And Roger, as you advise the president, as you have advised presidents
00:15:36.780
for some time, decades, in fact, the counsel that you suggested that Richard Nixon offered,
00:15:46.680
it makes perfect sense to me. First, find a candidate who none of them can help you, but I'm paraphrasing
00:15:53.460
you, but be sure you don't get one that hurts you. I see just a world of hurt with each one of the
00:16:00.700
candidates that I've heard mentioned prominently. What would you do? You have a favorite amongst the
00:16:07.340
candidates? Well, it's a difficult question. First of all, people do need to recognize it. Many people
00:16:14.100
don't, even though I've said it, not only on this show, but on others. Because of the rules of the
00:16:20.040
electoral college, while they do not specifically prohibit two people who are legal residents of the
00:16:27.020
same state to be nominated by a party for president and vice president, they do, in the event that they
00:16:33.540
carried that state, are required to forfeit the electoral votes of that state. So in a close race,
00:16:41.020
you could not afford to do that. That means you could not have Ron DeSantis, for example. Not that
00:16:46.980
he would be a contender, but I use him for example. Or Congressman Byron Donald, who I like very much.
00:16:54.160
Or General Michael Flynn, just for another example. So it cannot be a Floridian. I have been very
00:17:02.780
impressed by the feistiness and the fight of Elise Stefanik, the congresswoman from upstate New York,
00:17:10.920
in a business in which most politicians avoid conflict and try to go along to get along. She's been in the
00:17:18.180
forefront of the fight against anti-Semitism on the campuses. She played a huge role in forcing the
00:17:26.140
president of Harvard to resign. She's also not been afraid to file formal complaints regarding what she
00:17:36.240
viewed as judicial misconduct in some of the Trump cases. There are very few members of Congress who
00:17:44.180
have this kind of courage, this kind of fight. She's obviously a woman. She may have some appeal
00:17:51.020
to suburban women. I think that she'd be an excellent choice. I'm not saying that I've recommended that
00:18:00.860
because I've made no recommendation at this point, but I like her very much. If the president chose her,
00:18:06.500
I'd be very happy. Kristi Noem, while she's very attractive and while she has a solid record,
00:18:14.280
South Dakota is a small state. And if you're not carrying South Dakota, you know, your Tennessee's in
00:18:21.620
trouble. Again, I think she appeals to the base. We talked about Dr. Ben Carson. I admire him a lot.
00:18:29.600
He's a good man. He's a great Christian. He's solid. He's been through a presidential campaign. I think
00:18:34.440
that's significant. Would not be, in my opinion, a bad choice at all. Your old colleague, my friend,
00:18:42.940
Tucker Carlson, an intriguing idea. I get the impression that if the president asked him to do
00:18:49.540
it, he'd probably do it. I don't think he seeks it or wants it. Again, until Donald Trump, all of our
00:18:57.080
presidents were either senators or governors or congressmen or generals. Donald Trump broke the
00:19:03.980
mold being the first business person elected president. The last time we nominated a businessman
00:19:09.420
was in 1940. We nominated Wendell Wilkie. He ran the best race against Franklin Roosevelt of
00:19:16.160
Roosevelt's four challenges, but he did not become president. I think that Sarah Huckabee Sanders
00:19:24.320
is an interesting choice, but she's only in her second year of the governorship. A very bold
00:19:32.200
policy on her part blocking the Red Chinese or any Chinese entity fronting for the Communist Party
00:19:40.620
from purchasing any real estate, ranch land, farmland, toll plazas, highways, ports, no port here,
00:19:49.360
but airports and so on. That's a very bold position, something Ron DeSantis pledged to do,
00:19:55.340
but did not really do in Florida. I have taken some flack for putting forward the name of Tulsi
00:20:04.100
Gabbard. She's someone who intrigues me because, of course, she's a former Democrat. Ronald Reagan
00:20:11.180
was a Democrat. Donald Trump was a Democrat. I think you can evolve. She is certainly a critic of
00:20:19.760
the war machine. She really blasted Nikki Haley yesterday and pointed out that a vote for Nikki
00:20:27.040
Haley would be like voting for Hillary Clinton. She would have to become a Republican. She's, as you
00:20:35.140
know, not only an Iraq war veteran, I believe she's a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve,
00:20:42.600
championship surfer, former Democrat member of Congress, former vice chairman of the Democratic
00:20:49.060
Committee. I'm unaware of her position on social issues such as abortion. I haven't had a chance
00:20:54.660
to look at it. She'd have to become a Republican. At least 30 of the 50 states require that a person
00:21:02.900
nominated for federal office on the Republican ticket be registered in the vote. It's an outside
00:21:08.880
the box choice. No doubt a bunch of people criticized me for it, but no matter who you recommend,
00:21:15.700
you'll find some criticism. Look, only one man's going to make this choice, and that's Donald Trump.
00:21:22.700
If he has a short list, then it's in his mind. He did say on Fox that he's made this decision. Perhaps
00:21:30.240
he has, but since he doesn't have to announce it until July, he has every right to change his mind at
00:21:36.620
any time without telling us. I think he's got some good choices. I think he is wisely, very focused
00:21:45.840
on dispatching Nikki Haley in South Carolina and getting this contest for the nomination over before
00:21:53.340
he turns to this question. So he has not given me or anyone I know any particular hints. There are
00:22:01.040
probably other good people that we've failed to mention here. I think he's got time. He doesn't
00:22:09.780
have to make this decision today. This is a popular Washington parlor game, as you know.
00:22:16.960
It is, I think, a fair sport and an entertaining sport. I have to say,
00:22:23.100
Elise Stefanik, because of her performance, she was absolutely pivotal to changing the Harvard
00:22:31.780
Corporation and at least getting them moving toward resolving the anti-Semitic mess that they've made
00:22:40.020
of the institution. I really respect what she did there, and she was, I think, one of the most
00:22:46.520
powerful forces, if not the most powerful force, aside from Bill Ackman, to get this done, and Christopher
00:22:55.460
Rufo as well. She's just remarkable. We're talking with the remarkable, remarkable Roger Stone, and when
00:23:03.840
we come back, we're going to discuss just the major policy issues of the day and what happens,
00:23:11.080
in his judgment, in the course of the next election season that has already, of course, begun. We'll be
00:23:25.200
We're back now with Roger Stone, and Roger, I want to turn, if we could, to the issues that
00:23:32.040
we are all struggling against, whether it be a foreign policy that is sheer madness, an administration
00:23:38.560
that is nothing more than a pretense, a president who's nothing more than a puppet. We are watching
00:23:44.600
a party that has descended into hell itself, the Democrat Party. They are led by Marxist Dems and are
00:23:51.580
not even short of being demonic in the policies that they are pursuing. How difficult do you think it
00:23:59.480
will be for President Trump to beat Joe Biden in the midst of this chaos that has been created over
00:24:07.140
three years by what are, to me, nothing less than moronic individuals that people the Biden regime?
00:24:16.500
Well, based on history, of course, it's tough to be any incumbent because they control the levers of
00:24:22.900
power. And therefore, to a certain extent, they can control events, not all events, but some events. This
00:24:30.740
administration has demonstrated that they will unleash a tsunami of lawfare using all the levers of
00:24:38.580
judicial power against Donald Trump, who I honestly don't think has done anything wrong. We see the case
00:24:47.300
in Georgia falling apart on two bases. First of all, the epic corruption of the prosecutor there now being
00:24:55.380
exposed for all to see. And thanks to this federal case overseen by Judge Tottenberg, who's a Democratic
00:25:03.220
presidential nominee, but obviously an honest judge, really bringing into question legitimate questions
00:25:10.820
about the outcome and the system of voting in Georgia. And there are other litigations that threaten
00:25:18.420
to do the same thing. So that case appears to me ultimately in trouble, perhaps will ultimately even
00:25:25.220
be dismissed. But these folks are prepared to do whatever it takes. I mean, a declaration of war on
00:25:33.700
Russia? Is that outside the realm of possibility? Yet another pandemic? Is that a real possibility? The last
00:25:43.620
pandemic, as you know, was used as justification to loosen all these state voting laws to allow for
00:25:51.140
paper ballots and to mail in ballots being sent to every voter, whether that voter was alive or still
00:25:58.500
living in the state or not. It allowed for the expansion of early voting. It seems to have allowed
00:26:05.300
them to continue counting votes long past election day. So I think that you have an entrenched
00:26:13.620
uniparty that does not want to give up power. And I think that they are capable of virtually
00:26:21.060
everything. I have been very forthright about the fact that I pray for the safety of Donald Trump.
00:26:27.700
I wrote a book, The Man Who Killed Kennedy, The Case Against LBJ, about the tragic assassination of
00:26:36.180
John F. Kennedy. I think it's based on all of the declassified documents that have been made public that
00:26:45.380
that there was government involvement in his murder, that the Warren Commission story of Lee Harvey
00:26:52.500
Oswald acting alone has been pretty thoroughly debunked. Even the New York Times in recent weeks reported on the
00:27:01.060
comments of Paul Landis, an 88 year old former Secret Service agent, which really badly debunks the
00:27:08.420
Warren Commission conclusions. So I pray for President Trump's safety, the safety of his family and
00:27:16.500
everyone around him every day. If we have a free, fair, honest, transparent election and there's not a
00:27:26.580
manipulation of world events or domestic events such as, I don't know, a terrorist attack on American
00:27:35.380
interests on American soil, which given how many illegals we have let into the country without
00:27:42.100
knowing who they are or where they are, seems to me to be a very real possibility. All of these things
00:27:48.740
have the potential to royal the country and affect the results. So it's just too early to say. But those
00:27:58.260
who have power never want to power relinquish power of voluntarily. I've also, I've said it here,
00:28:06.500
I'm still not certain Joe Biden will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. I still think that's an open
00:28:12.740
question. Bill O'Reilly, another old colleague of yours with a column yesterday saying that he thinks
00:28:19.780
it's going to be Barack, pardon me, Michelle Obama. I can't imagine where he first heard that. So I think
00:28:26.340
anything's possible. I think anything is possible, as you can say. And I'm surprised at Bill with
00:28:33.700
derivative exposition coming up with that particular name. I would like to bring to everyone's attention
00:28:42.820
that Alex Soros, who has an account on Twitter, tweeted out a, well, exed out, posted out a little
00:28:52.580
note with a bullet hole through what appears to be a windshield and $47 in cash currency next to it.
00:29:05.220
A not so subtle suggestion and a threatening one. And you don't have to be an expert or a doctorate and
00:29:14.820
have a doctorate in some symbology to know what they were saying. That's a very disturbing
00:29:23.460
to me, at least, development. Your thoughts? Well, look, just the last week, a website called
00:29:30.100
Mediaite released an audio tape in which they alleged that I advocated the murder of two Democratic
00:29:37.540
members of Congress. I have sent this out for professional evaluation to two experts, and I've used
00:29:44.820
two of the leading software. I never said these words. This is the danger of AI.
00:29:50.580
AI is now seamless. They can, with a snippet of seven seconds of your voice,
00:29:57.060
Lou, they could have you endorsing Joe Biden. It's an absurdity, but it demonstrates the extent
00:30:05.700
to which people will go. In the case of Mr. Soros, he posted it on his own site. I'm now conferring
00:30:14.260
with lawyers as to whether I can win a defamation case. I'm a public figure. The barrier is very high,
00:30:22.580
but I never threatened anyone. This is nonsense. I have posted the refutation of this. Of course,
00:30:29.940
MSNBC and CNN, they report it as fact. They never contact you for comment. They never examine
00:30:40.100
the forensic evidence that shows that it's a fraud.
00:30:44.580
And this is a dangerous time. We all have to be keenly aware of that. When Alex Soros and
00:30:51.700
the Atlantic are peddling this sort of nonsense, very straightforwardly, there's not much nuance in
00:30:58.980
what they're doing. In your case, you simply were the victim of a fraud perpetrated by the deep, dark
00:31:08.420
forces of the Marxist Dems. Roger, great to have you with us. We thank you so much, as always. I
00:31:15.780
appreciate your time, your great insight, and good humor. Thank you, sir.
00:31:21.380
Well, Louie, several people on Twitter this morning were saying Lou Dobbs for vice president, but
00:31:27.620
when we were off air, you issued a Sherman-esque statement that you're not interested. Not the
00:31:32.500
worst idea I've ever heard, though. Yeah, well, I'll tell you what. You know, I'm open to it. No,
00:31:39.140
I was going to have a little fun with it, but I don't want to give anybody any ideas. The truth is that I
00:31:45.860
have just the lousiest nature possible to be a politician, guaranteed. And Roger Stone, you have
00:31:53.620
the greatest of talents for politics and social comprehension and criticism. We appreciate you
00:32:03.940
being here. Thank you for having me, and God bless you, and have a great day. Thanks, Roger, and thank
00:32:08.980
you, everybody, for being here today. Join us tomorrow for the Great America Podcast. Our guest will be
