00:00:30.000 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs. Welcome to The Great America Show and delighted to have you with us.
00:00:35.500 It's a showdown now between Congress and the unelected bureaucrats of the FBI.
00:00:40.960 The FBI is supposed to be the top law enforcement agency in the United States.
00:00:46.840 Yet it's not following the law, it's breaking the law and not upholding the Constitution.
00:00:52.380 The arrogance of this corrupt FBI and DOJ seems to be without limit.
00:00:57.480 House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer today announcing he's moving ahead
00:01:02.500 with contempt of Congress charges against FBI Director Christopher Wray.
00:01:07.900 The contempt charges follow Wray's failure to comply with the Oversight Committee subpoena
00:01:12.760 to turn over an unclassified document that implicates Joe Biden in a $5 million bribery scheme.
00:01:20.520 We'll be taking that up momentarily with the founder and editor-in-chief of Just the News, John Solomon.
00:01:26.620 But first, these news developments.
00:01:29.500 Former Director of the FBI James Comey breaking tradition and endorsing a political candidate.
00:01:35.580 Comey joined Jen Psaki on MSNBC.
00:01:39.800 Comey warning about the return of President Trump.
00:01:43.300 The former FBI Director, who was part of the Marxist Dimm and Deep State plot to overthrow Trump,
00:01:49.180 seemed very nervous.
00:01:50.440 Take a listen to this exchange on why he's terrified of a return of Donald Trump to the White House.
00:01:58.760 You've said that Trump poses a near existential threat to the rule of law.
00:02:04.160 And this is something, similar language that I hear privately from national security officials,
00:02:09.820 some people you and I both know, who will say this privately about what a second term could mean.
00:02:15.620 But tell me a little bit about the specifics of what he could try to do.
00:02:19.720 What do you mean by that?
00:02:21.140 Well, think about what four years of a retribution presidency might look like.
00:02:27.300 He could order the investigation and prosecution of individuals who he sees as enemies.
00:02:34.520 I'm sure I'm on the enemies list.
00:02:35.900 Because the president, constitutionally, does oversee the executive branch entirely,
00:02:41.100 which includes the Department of Justice, prosecutors and investigators.
00:02:44.640 And so he could commission, direct that individuals be pursued.
00:02:49.260 He could also direct all kinds of other conduct that people would maybe take to court to try to stop.
00:02:56.580 But who enforces court orders?
00:02:59.140 Mostly the United States Marshals Service, which is part of the executive branch and reports to the president.
00:03:05.020 And so President Trump could say, I don't care what the Supreme Court says,
00:03:09.620 or these district judges say, I'm telling the Marshals Service, don't enforce the court order.
00:03:14.920 And so our constitution really does give a rogue president, which is what this would be,
00:03:20.560 tremendous power to destroy.
00:03:22.580 And so that's why I'm trying to warn people,
00:03:24.940 given the way he said he intends to operate if he's reelected,
00:03:28.320 this will be something we could never have imagined.
00:03:30.740 Again, it seems like science fiction in a way,
00:03:34.620 but it's what another four years of Donald Trump really promises,
00:03:38.460 which is why people criticize CNN for their town hall.
00:03:42.840 I want the American people to stare at the threat that we're facing
00:03:46.520 and understand that they cannot take the next election off.
00:03:50.540 Four years of retribution, says Comey.
00:03:53.180 When asked who Comey would be supporting in the 2024 election,
00:03:56.540 he didn't hesitate to boost the impaired puppet incumbent.
00:04:00.420 You were Republican most of your life, but voted for,
00:04:03.380 and you may still consider yourself one, but voted for Biden in 2020.
00:04:07.120 Do you intend to vote for him again?
00:04:08.800 Or is there anyone on the Republican side you might consider if it's not Trump?
00:04:13.260 It has to be Joe Biden.
00:04:16.120 And I'm glad he's willing to serve.
00:04:18.880 It has to be somebody committed to the rule of law,
00:04:22.280 committed to the values of this country.
00:04:23.660 And I'm not talking about policy.
00:04:25.520 People can disagree about policy.
00:04:26.960 There are things above those disagreements that all of us should think about the same way.
00:04:31.960 The president must be someone who abides the law and our Constitution.
00:04:36.860 And there's no one else but Joe Biden.
00:04:39.360 Can you believe he kept a straight face as he said hypocritically
00:04:42.440 that Joe Biden is, quote, committed to the rule of law?
00:04:46.240 End quote.
00:04:47.280 The Republican House Committee is truly committed,
00:04:50.060 moving ahead with their investigations of the corrupt Biden regime,
00:04:54.520 including, of course, the corrupt FBI and Justice Department.
00:04:58.820 For the last five months, Chairman Comer has been investigating Biden and his crime family.
00:05:03.920 And all the while, the Biden family has been protected by every government agency, it seems,
00:05:09.300 including the FBI and DOJ.
00:05:12.280 Yesterday, Congressman Comer had enough with the stonewalling
00:05:15.640 and the protection of the Biden family.
00:05:18.000 After more than a month of going back and forth with the FBI
00:05:21.920 over their failure to turn over a whistleblower document that implicates Joe Biden,
00:05:27.560 Comer started the process to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt.
00:05:32.160 Here's Comer following a meeting with ranking member Jamie Raskin and high-level FBI officials.
00:05:38.000 FBI officials confirmed that the unclassified FBI-generated record
00:05:42.480 has not been disproven and is currently being used in an ongoing investigation.
00:05:49.760 The confidential human source who provided information about then-Vice President Biden
00:05:54.320 being involved in a criminal bribery scheme
00:05:56.680 is a trusted, highly credible informant
00:06:00.020 who has been used by the FBI for over 10 years
00:06:04.040 and has been paid over six figures.
00:06:09.240 These are facts and no amount of spin and, frankly, lies from the White House
00:06:14.420 or congressional Democrats can change this information.
00:06:18.460 At the briefing, the FBI again refused to hand over the unclassified record
00:06:23.160 to the custody of the House Oversight Committee,
00:06:26.300 and we will now initiate contempt of Congress hearings this Thursday.
00:06:32.800 Given the severity and complexity of the allegations contained within this record,
00:06:38.380 Congress must investigate further.
00:06:41.400 Americans have lost trust in the FBI's ability to enforce the law impartially
00:06:45.420 and demand answers, transparency, and accountability.
00:06:50.980 The investigation is not dead.
00:06:54.520 This is only the beginning.
00:06:55.680 Joining us now is John Solomon, founder and editor-in-chief of Just the News.
00:07:01.280 John, it's great to have you back with us here on The Great America Show.
00:07:04.040 Let's start with the big news.
00:07:05.800 Chairman Comer going ahead with contempt of Congress charges against Director Wray.
00:07:11.760 Well, the FBI brought the document for Republicans to see.
00:07:15.600 Now, remember, the Republicans have already seen it.
00:07:17.200 Both Comer and Grassley read it from other sources,
00:07:19.440 meaning not from the FBI but from somewhere else.
00:07:22.680 He's not satisfied.
00:07:23.720 He wants this document in the possession of Congress so it can be made public
00:07:27.180 and be used to educate the public on what the FBI was doing and not doing to investigate
00:07:32.460 Biden corruption and specifically the possibility that our current president,
00:07:36.700 when he was vice president, engaged in a bribery scheme involving a foreign country.
00:07:40.600 So those are all really big, big moments.
00:07:44.600 And today, they thought there was going to get some cooperation.
00:07:48.060 They got a little bit.
00:07:49.420 But the fact that Congress can't take the document with them, can't make it public, not satisfied, is James Comer.
00:07:55.540 And so he's proceeding to a contempt vote, which could happen in the next few days.
00:07:59.940 Well, I would hope that if it is to come, it's done with great dispatch, as you suggest, because this has been I figure it.
00:08:08.580 First of all, Chairman Comer, just incredible props for moving ahead and threatening without compliance to that subpoena,
00:08:17.940 threatening contempt of Congress.
00:08:20.100 It is nice to see a man with backbone stand up straight and say this is the Constitution.
00:08:25.100 This is the Oversight Committee, and you will, by golly, turn it over.
00:08:30.480 Yeah.
00:08:30.940 And listen, we haven't seen this determination from prior congressional committees.
00:08:34.920 If you remember for a while, Paul Ryan didn't want to hold the FBI's feet to the fire and Russia collusion.
00:08:39.720 A lot of people felt like the investigation into Benghazi got cut short, that there was a place to go that now there isn't.
00:08:48.800 And so I think you look at the investigation now and you go, well, in the past, the Republicans lost their will and they stopped.
00:08:56.960 James Comer seems to have a lot of moxie.
00:08:58.940 He's determined to get to exercise the full authority of Congress and to get the American people the full truth.
00:09:04.160 Not part of the truth, not the truth that the FBI wants to manipulate.
00:09:08.060 He wants the full truth sitting out there in plain view.
00:09:10.660 And it appears he's on that course today.
00:09:12.940 And on that course, since really now we're reaching back to 2020 again, the election year of 2020 with so much going on, this looks like another effort.
00:09:26.840 I'm saying it looks like I can't say that it is, but it looks like another effort on the part of the FBI to hide evidence that would have been very difficult for President Biden,
00:09:39.460 then a candidate for President or Vice President, to explain.
00:09:45.520 We can't even get the FBI to let go of that thing.
00:09:50.080 The Secret Service, the FBI, each one of these agencies, the Internal Revenue Service, you name it, the Justice Department, the FBI,
00:09:57.760 they have built ramparts around Joe Biden, who is on his face, absolutely corrupt.
00:10:08.000 Yeah. Well, listen, you're 100 percent right that the protection racket, there's been a political protection racket inside the FBI.
00:10:16.260 That's a problem. There shouldn't be politics in the FBI.
00:10:18.700 The FBI should not look at the defendant.
00:10:20.820 They should look at the crime and treat each defendant the same way.
00:10:23.120 But that's not been the way that the Justice Department has worked since at least the summer of 2016,
00:10:28.960 when the Steele dossier and the other allegations of Russia collusion now long disproven came in.
00:10:34.520 And since that time, you see a very partisan FBI.
00:10:37.160 And over the weekend, you saw just how partisan it was.
00:10:39.880 It's former director.
00:10:41.440 No prior FBI director would make an endorsement of a presidential candidate.
00:10:45.260 But James Comey, he's out there touting Joe Biden for re-election in 2024.
00:10:51.540 That alone discredits the FBI.
00:10:53.720 All other prior FBI directors have been careful not to make endorsements,
00:10:57.600 to realize that whether you were there and when you retire, you still represent the FBI.
00:11:01.760 James Comey doesn't have any of that sort of discretion.
00:11:06.640 And I think you now understand how the FBI fundamentally changed on his watch.
00:11:10.820 It became a partisan agency that clears Hillary Clinton without authority, closes down Clinton Foundation investigations,
00:11:17.960 opens up unwarranted investigations on President Trump.
00:11:21.400 The James Comey era, as so many people like Kevin Bach, former intelligence chief, have said,
00:11:25.760 forever changed the course of the FBI and not for the better.
00:11:29.380 Not for the better.
00:11:31.000 And you can count me among those who think that the FBI should be absolutely abolished.
00:11:36.960 It is corrupt.
00:11:38.760 It is pervasively corrupt.
00:11:40.460 And I think irremediately corrupt.
00:11:42.460 And to have built up an organization.
00:11:47.920 This is a criminal organization, as far as I'm concerned.
00:11:51.300 The enterprise is no different than any organized crime enterprise.
00:11:56.640 It's just disgusting.
00:11:59.220 And let me read from just the news.
00:12:01.800 I want to quote your publication.
00:12:04.640 Quote, the president must be someone who abides the law and our Constitution.
00:12:11.000 And there's no one else but Joe Biden, Comey said.
00:12:14.840 That is stunning in its arrogance and its capacity for outrage.
00:12:22.440 Well, as the great legal mind, and I think he's done a great job at George Washington University,
00:12:29.600 Jonathan Turley has said, Comey's only voicing what seemed to be the virtual possibility of the FBI,
00:12:34.800 which is we want to defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden.
00:12:38.180 And it's now apparent that we have several, several really serious pieces of evidence that show the FBI tip the scales,
00:12:46.860 put its thumb on the scales of two consecutive elections.
00:12:49.840 And that's not what Americans expect.
00:12:52.820 That's what a banana republic expects to have happen.
00:12:54.980 And at this point now, I think most Americans have learned the FBI got involved in election politics where it doesn't belong.
00:13:02.960 When you go back to 2016 and preceding the election of 2016, even, when the FBI is trying to frame a candidate,
00:13:16.220 the FBI is trying to frame, and successfully so, the National Security Advisor,
00:13:21.800 when the FBI director is complicit in all of this, we're looking at, in my opinion, the FBI in 2016 and 2020 putting their heel in the throat of the American people
00:13:36.920 and denying them their right to know, as well as carrying out an effort to overthrow the president of the United States.
00:13:48.680 I mean, it's far more than just, to me, John, a thumb on the scale of justice.
00:13:53.300 That's right.
00:13:53.800 They threw the scale of justice up against a brick wall.
00:13:56.860 And it's just not what we've expected.
00:13:58.840 We've expected our intelligence community to stay on the sidelines.
00:14:01.780 They expected the FBI to stay on the sidelines of elections, to be apartisan, and to focus on facts and evidence,
00:14:08.040 and treat every American, regardless of their political stripe, with the same fervor of investigation and the same protection of civil liberties.
00:14:15.200 And that's not been the case in the last seven years.
00:14:18.320 And I've been covering the FBI for well over 35 years.
00:14:21.800 The last seven years have been its most devastating in terms of loss of public confidence, loss of public trust,
00:14:28.280 loss of the trust of members of Congress and the judiciary.
00:14:33.920 Just think about the FISA court and all the things the FISA court has exposed about FBI wrongdoing.
00:14:39.160 And the gap between the FISA court's recent ruling is recently, just a couple weeks ago,
00:14:44.120 and the rhetoric of Christopher Wray, who keeps saying everything's fine in Dodge when everybody knows it's not.
00:14:49.540 And I want to take something that I wrote this morning, because I think it's really emblematic of what the concern you're raising.
00:14:56.760 I wrote a story this morning from several documents that Chuck Grassley has made available over two years.
00:15:03.060 Put them all together, because they've come out piecemeal.
00:15:05.340 But when you sew them together, you get a very clear picture of what happened.
00:15:09.580 Now, we know that Russian disinformation was used to go after Donald Trump.
00:15:13.800 We know that Russian disinformation claims were used to stop the American public from understanding the Hunter Biden laptop
00:15:19.780 and all of its allegations of political corruption were true.
00:15:24.280 The 51 members of the intelligence community falsely misled us.
00:15:28.140 It turns out, according to these documents I reviewed this morning,
00:15:32.180 that the same Russian disinformation claim was circulated inside the FBI
00:15:36.940 and used to shut down and thwart certain avenues of inquiry into the Biden family corruption
00:15:42.700 right in the middle of the 2020 election.
00:15:45.360 And Chuck Grassley has put this evidence out in plain view for everyone.
00:15:49.060 Let's see, I pulled it together this morning.
00:15:50.920 So the Russian disinformation wasn't just a deception for the American people.
00:15:54.860 It became a false predicate for shutting down any investigation that dare look at the Biden family corruption
00:16:01.640 allegations, of which there are many.
00:16:04.840 And then you go forward to the IRS agent who testified to the Ways and Means Committee a couple weeks ago,
00:16:09.040 the whistleblower, and he says certain aspects of the Biden investigation on the tax side
00:16:14.440 were also thwarted by the same Justice Department, the same FBI.
00:16:18.500 We have so much evidence that the FBI was protecting Joe Biden
00:16:22.600 and also at the same time going after Donald Trump, maybe without the proper predicate,
00:16:28.560 that that's why Americans no longer trust this one-story criminal investigative agency.
00:16:33.720 We're talking with John Solomon, editor-in-chief of Just the News.
00:16:36.740 Please stay with us. We'll be right back after these quick words.
00:16:45.640 We're back now talking with John Solomon, and I want to start, pick up with where you had begun,
00:16:53.440 and that is effectively with the FBI, the Department of Justice, unelected bureaucrats, unelected officials,
00:16:59.440 deciding, deciding important political questions, including not just right up to, but including presidential elections.
00:17:09.720 This is outrageous, and there's been no consequence of any kind.
00:17:15.740 The efforts to overthrow a president, the efforts to intervene, the successful efforts to intervene in the 2020 election,
00:17:23.340 and the unsuccessful efforts in 2016.
00:17:26.460 Yeah, there is a cycle that, if it isn't stopped at this moment, is going to become the normalized cycle of politics,
00:17:33.620 which is the FBI, the intelligence community, the Justice Department, the IRS,
00:17:38.680 will be used every election cycle by the party in power to try to stop its opposition.
00:17:45.060 That's what banana Republicans do, but this is the cycle we're on.
00:17:47.960 And by the way, it predates 2016.
00:17:50.680 In fact, the very prosecutor that currently is investigating Donald Trump in the classified documents in January 6th,
00:17:57.400 Jack Smith, invented an idea a decade ago alongside Lois Lerner that they could maybe weaponize the tax code
00:18:04.680 to go after and silence conservative nonprofit groups.
00:18:07.960 So their blueprint has been out there for more than a decade now, and now it has had a few successes by Democratic standards, right?
00:18:16.300 They were able to dirty up Donald Trump on Russia and leave many people believing there was Russia collusion when none such existed.
00:18:23.140 They've been able to go out and scare people away from the Hunter Biden allegations, even though they were real.
00:18:27.940 And, of course, I played a big role in outing that.
00:18:30.340 And, of course, I was called a conspiracy theorist.
00:18:32.900 And otherwise, with those two or three successes, if they're not substantially reversed in the next several months
00:18:40.920 with the James Combers and the Jim Jordans of the world, the temptation and the practice of using law enforcement
00:18:46.680 to settle political scores will become the norm, not the exception.
00:18:50.480 We're in that phase of moving from exception to norm, and that's what is so much at stake.
00:18:55.900 The Democrats want to bowl over this one more time because they know one more time of this, and it becomes a normal practice.
00:19:02.660 That's what's at stake for America, whether we're going to have law and order or political disorder
00:19:07.360 at the heart of our FBI and intelligence community.
00:19:10.580 The stakes are extraordinarily high for the future of the country.
00:19:14.320 The Marxist Dems, the deep state, the unelected bureaucracy are all powerful right now.
00:19:19.960 They control the Department of Justice.
00:19:21.880 They control the FBI.
00:19:23.660 They are in full control of our intelligence community.
00:19:27.020 There are no exceptions other than perhaps dozens of whistleblowers who've stepped forward.
00:19:34.540 And God bless them because they are truly the difference maker here.
00:19:39.980 But I do not see a way forward if, indeed, the Biden regime decides to assert the power that it is in full control of.
00:19:52.620 Your thoughts?
00:19:55.260 Yeah, I can't argue with that, Lou.
00:19:59.060 I think that the understanding how much the Republicans ceded ground and how much the Democrats gain ground in the art of politics over the last decade
00:20:10.060 is going to be something that will be studied for decades.
00:20:12.240 Democrats weaponized every aspect of politics and governance from secretaries of states to ballot harvesting to FBI investigations.
00:20:24.620 It's Democrats that are feeding the dope to the FBI on Donald Trump.
00:20:28.600 Now, obviously, it's a willing, willingly received information because of James Comey's biases.
00:20:34.660 You see those on display this past weekend.
00:20:37.120 But they've weaponized every aspect of it.
00:20:39.700 And the Republicans have sat by there for the last six or seven or eight years.
00:20:43.780 Basically, well, we're outraged, but we're not really actually changing anything.
00:20:47.040 And this moment now, these next 15 months before, 16 months before the general election of 2024, will determine whether we become a one-party country or we still have a two-party system.
00:21:00.720 Republicans must muster a significant counteroffensive against these things.
00:21:05.800 It's not enough to be outraged.
00:21:07.280 It's not enough to go run on Fox News and lay out your latest complaint or your outrage or you think.
00:21:12.000 They have to change things.
00:21:13.500 They have to get deals in the budget.
00:21:14.960 They have to cut the budget of misbehaving agencies.
00:21:18.160 They need to create punishments for those who feel tempted or have already been tempted to weaponize government, to settle political scores, or to influence elections.
00:21:27.680 If they don't do it, they will have no one to look when they realize that Republicans are a minority party for perhaps decades to come.
00:21:35.500 Democrats are playing nuclear war in many times.
00:21:38.020 Not always, but many times, Republicans have been playing tiddlywinks.
00:21:41.500 It's an uneven game, and the country's suffering for them.
00:21:44.820 I do see signs now that Republicans are getting in the game.
00:21:48.140 I see big donors talking about ballot harvesting and early voting.
00:21:52.400 I see very determined Republicans talking about defunding pensions of people so that a future person has a thought,
00:22:00.180 oh, you know, I might lose my pension over this even if I don't get prosecuted.
00:22:04.080 If they follow through on that, it's great.
00:22:06.620 If they don't follow through on it, I think the Republicans are moving themselves to a permanent minority party,
00:22:12.100 much like we saw in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s in the Congress.
00:22:16.280 And it'll be harder and harder to win elections when Democrats keep exercising so much dominance on the world they are on the national stage.
00:22:24.480 I don't know that they have the power to unilaterally influence the budget and make it stick.
00:22:34.640 Your thoughts?
00:22:35.380 This is an interesting moment, and I have a theory what Kevin McCarthy's up to based on a lot of reporting,
00:22:41.660 but theory and what Kevin McCarthy actually would do, we'll have to see if they're the same.
00:22:45.360 I think Kevin McCarthy realized that Republicans historically have not fared well
00:22:50.200 when the full faith and credit of the United States was in a hostage-taking position, right?
00:22:55.120 When a gun's to the head of defaulting.
00:22:57.480 There are two dynamics at worst.
00:22:59.880 One, the Democrats have done a better job demagoguing on it.
00:23:02.740 And two, a lot of Republicans get weak-kneed because they don't want to ruin the great credit history of this country.
00:23:09.020 So I think his theory in getting this debt deal done, which I think a lot of his right side of his party ruse,
00:23:15.220 was to take that weapon out of the Democrats' hands.
00:23:19.520 Now, the argument is, well, then you gave the barn away to have one weapon taken away.
00:23:23.020 But the real question would be, does Kevin McCarthy and his team, can he sew together what will be a three-vote margin in the House, right?
00:23:33.200 Because we just lost Chris Stewart from Utah, so the Republican margin is even small.
00:23:36.820 It might even be smaller if Santos gets excommunicated from Congress.
00:23:43.700 But do they have the will to say, you know what?
00:23:46.520 We don't care anymore.
00:23:47.860 The full faith and credit of the United States is no longer at risk.
00:23:50.360 We will shut down the government until the following 15 things happen.
00:23:54.100 And you can pick the 15 most important priorities.
00:23:56.320 Everyone can.
00:23:57.460 Whatever those are, are they willing to go to the mat and say, we'll shut this down.
00:24:02.820 We don't care if Mitch McConnell teams back up with Schumer and Biden.
00:24:09.120 We stayed on the sidelines.
00:24:10.280 We don't care if government bureaucrats don't get their salary.
00:24:13.400 We'll make sure Social Security and Medicare go out, the main military stuff.
00:24:18.180 But everything else shuts down until we get something we want out of this, and it needs to be substantial.
00:24:23.360 If he does that, that will tell us that there's some courage that we haven't seen in the last few decades of Republicans.
00:24:29.260 The truth of the matter is Republicans have been among the greatest spending givers anywhere.
00:24:37.280 In the first two years of the Trump presidency, under the stewardship of Paul Ryan, the man who kept saying he was the deficit buster, the deficit nearly doubled from where Barack Obama left it.
00:24:51.400 Now, Barack Obama's no model, right?
00:24:52.820 He's no model.
00:24:53.620 But it doubled on Republicans' watch.
00:24:56.320 Absolutely.
00:24:56.660 What happened?
00:24:57.300 The American people put Democrats in charge because they didn't see a difference anymore.
00:25:00.920 That moment is here again, and Kevin McCarthy will either be a Paul Ryan or he will be someone far more like a Newt Gingrich.
00:25:08.240 We will know in August and September if they have the will to do this.
00:25:12.880 Are they willing to say, I'm going to cut the FBI budget by 30 percent?
00:25:16.520 I'm going to get rid of the FBI thing.
00:25:18.340 I'm going to get rid of the pensions of all the 51 people that signed that letter and others.
00:25:23.440 Do they have the will to do that?
00:25:24.860 I don't know.
00:25:25.360 We'll see.
00:25:25.680 But that's a possibility that's being discussed behind closed doors right now.
00:25:31.260 Well, that that is what I would expect from you, John.
00:25:35.600 The very latest in news and the most important news that is confronting the country.
00:25:41.220 We're going we're talking, obviously, with John Solomon.
00:25:44.040 He's the editor in chief of Just the News and one of the country's greatest journalists.
00:25:49.280 We're going to come right back with him right after these quick words.
00:25:52.160 Stay with us.
00:25:55.680 This is a warning, my fellow Americans.
00:25:59.200 The news just broke and it's grim.
00:26:01.480 The banking collapse of 2023 is now more devastating than the banking collapse of 2008.
00:26:08.980 First Republic, PacWest, Silicon Bank, just a few of the latest casualties in this banking crisis.
00:26:15.060 And don't wait for the email reading, quote, sorry, your account has been frozen, end quote.

00:27:09.080 Once again, call now.
00:27:11.140 866-387-2465.
00:27:15.160 We're back with John Solomon.
00:27:19.040 John, I want to get right back to what you're talking about, and that is the leverage that the Republican House does have.
00:27:25.220 And what would be the best possible use of their power controlling the House right now to bring this government to heel that is run now by the Marxist Dems and the deep state?
00:27:44.060 There is a lot of discussion going on behind closed doors.
00:27:50.140 There are some interesting dynamics.
00:27:52.260 The deal that Kevin McCarthy made has made him the most popular leader in Washington right now.
00:27:57.520 He's way more popular than even Donald Trump, certainly way more popular than Joe Biden or any of his Democratic colleagues.
00:28:03.420 That's unusual because he started at a very low popularity rating in January after the long, drawn-out speakership battle.
00:28:10.200 He has some political capital to spend, and I think the question is, will he spend it in a way that substantially changes the government, or does he play it safe, a la the John Boehner and Paul Ryan strategies of speakers past?
00:28:25.480 There is some fascinating discussions that I'm privy to, I've been able to report on, where there is a grand plan that Kevin McCarthy is talking to his lieutenant Saban.
00:28:37.060 In order to pull it off, he's got to go to the Freedom Caucus, who are very disaffected with him because of the deal he made, and say, listen, I'm real popular right now.
00:28:45.160 I'm willing to spend that popularity to get the sort of things you wanted in the debt deal, but I think they're best gotten in the appropriations process.
00:28:53.100 We are going to substantially reduce outlays and authorizations, the two tools that Congress has to control spending.
00:28:59.840 And if Democrats don't like it, I want you to sit with me in the trenches, and we'll shut down the government in the fall.
00:29:06.280 We'll pick a battle and say, this bill ain't coming through.
00:29:08.300 We're not doing a voice vote on it.
00:29:09.480 It's not happening.
00:29:10.840 And we'll lock down, and we'll show people that a lot of government isn't worth keeping because we'll close it down, and most people won't know it's not open.
00:29:19.200 And I think that that's an idea that he has.
00:29:21.340 And they've identified some in the early conversations.
00:29:25.100 Lou, I'll give you some things that they're talking about doing, right?
00:29:27.680 Defunding the FBI headquarters, beginning the dismantling of the Department of Education and returning the money to block grants.
00:29:33.520 It would get rid of a huge bureaucracy.
00:29:35.880 Defunding the overly zealous environmental regulators who keep getting shut down in the courts.
00:29:41.420 Stopping billions in wasteful spending on meaningless NIH studies.
00:29:44.520 Every year, you and I find a million in NIH studies.
00:29:46.900 Why are we spending money on that?
00:29:48.260 None of it helps public health, as we learned in the pandemic.
00:29:52.520 Stopping the Justice Department from redirecting court judgments that belong to the American taxpayers, but instead they're given to liberal advocacy groups as redirects.
00:30:00.180 Those are all things that he's currently talking to his top lieutenants about doing.
00:30:04.260 That could cut several scores of billions of dollars right away.
00:30:09.400 Maybe even the hundreds of billions of dollars very quickly.
00:30:13.040 And if he's willing to put that plan together, get his entire caucus on and whoring in one direction like he did on the early bills, you'll be cutting the government by a lot more than the 1% target of this deal.
00:30:24.300 You could cut it by 3%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, which would be historic, and it would send shockwaves.
00:30:30.420 I think the American people would applaud it, and the Democrats would fear it.
00:30:34.360 And I think that's what's going on behind the scenes.
00:30:35.880 I don't know if he can execute it, but that is what my reporting shows is going on behind the scenes.
00:30:40.180 Well, that is, I think, one of the most hopeful things I've heard in a very long time about what the Republicans can do, again, dependent upon their will.
00:30:51.100 There has to be within that caucus the ability to, if necessary, step up behind Speaker McCarthy to execute it,
00:31:02.260 but to especially restore this country to decency, to honesty, and forthrightness, transparency,
00:31:12.520 and to make certain that no longer are the American people afraid of their government,
00:31:16.740 but rather the bureaucracy is now afraid of the American people.
00:31:20.960 We're watching a movement here in this country that people have to understand,
00:31:24.960 and that is the left in this country has locked arms, whether it's in education,
00:31:32.180 whether it is in any number of areas, academia, public education.
00:31:38.160 They're destroying it, and with it, they don't mind a bit destroying the American family
00:31:43.380 and the hard-working middle class in this country.
00:31:46.340 They are the enemies of this Biden regime.
00:31:49.340 You saw this, just flatly stated by the White House press secretary last week when she said there are children,
00:31:55.800 meaning the government's children.
00:31:57.600 No prior generation of an American leadership or administration would ever have made such a bold claim that they have ownership,
00:32:04.500 and you see it in daily court battles and these battles with parents,
00:32:09.100 the education bureaucrats saying we know better than the parents.
00:32:12.120 That is how far the debate has devolved or evolved in America in the last several years,
00:32:19.780 and these are existential questions about America now.
00:32:23.040 Will parents really have the right to determine their children,
00:32:25.600 or will they be taken away from them like Washington and Oregon and other states are talking about when the transgender laws,
00:32:31.300 these are massive debates that really will determine the sort of country we're going to be for 30, 40, 50 years,
00:32:36.560 and it's going to require people of great courage and great fortitude and great stubbornness to hold the line,
00:32:44.940 or I think America will be fundamentally changed by the Democrats.
00:32:48.420 They'll prevail.
00:32:49.540 They're on the prevailing side right now, but it's not past the point of reversing it.
00:32:55.520 I think everyone listening to you and me, John, I think they have to understand this is the third term of Barack Obama.
00:33:03.800 He promised profound transformation of America.
00:33:09.220 He hated America.
00:33:10.540 I think he hates Americans.
00:33:12.780 But the reality is we have to stand up for what is ours, and if, as you say,
00:33:19.140 if our children do not belong to us but rather the state, there's no more discussion is required.
00:33:26.400 And for people, I see such hesitancy and, frankly, I think some considerable cowardice and people not being able to say we're going to be tolerant,
00:33:41.040 but we're not going to be dominated by these crazy groups, whatever they may be.
00:33:46.880 But in the issue of transgender, there's its mental illness on its, again, it's obvious, but no one wants to talk about that reality,
00:33:56.740 and they instead want to make it a community standard.
00:34:00.480 Your reaction to what has become a movement from what is a fraction, a tiny fraction of this country's citizens.
00:34:11.980 Yeah, well, the reaction is, as a reporter, I've seen some of the most fast, impactful counter-reactions that I've ever seen in my life.
00:34:22.480 What happened to Bud Light in a short few days, or Target, which is now $10 billion less valuable than it was a week or two ago,
00:34:29.820 tells you that the American people have had their final button pushed.
00:34:33.780 And so you're seeing very optimistic, if you believe in the country that we've had for the first 245, 46 years,
00:34:42.320 you're seeing some things that are optimistic, right?
00:34:44.880 There are some wins in the courts.
00:34:46.480 Some of the censors are beginning to lose, right?
00:34:48.480 The Global Disinformation Index shut down after censoring our free speech for a long period of time.
00:34:53.900 There are hopeful signs of what went on in the parents' movements in these school boards,
00:34:57.340 which, by the way, are accelerating.
00:34:58.640 More school boards are being transformed by parent interaction.
00:35:02.340 There are a lot of hopeful signs that the silent majority of Americans that Ronald Reagan made famous four or five decades ago
00:35:11.160 aren't so silent anymore, as that woman in Philadelphia who stopped me a few weeks ago said,
00:35:15.760 silence is no longer an option because it's complicity in the destruction of America.
00:35:20.400 If that groundswell continues, it won't matter whether Ronald McDaniel is the RNC chair,
00:35:25.440 it won't matter who the presidential candidate.
00:35:27.700 It will be the people themselves are taking their government back and they're not going to stop until they win.
00:35:34.060 And that, I think, is a helpful sign for those who believe in the republic as it was established
00:35:38.680 and not in the republic that Joe Biden and Barack Obama have tried to rejigger and remake
00:35:45.400 into their own sort of European socialist model.
00:35:47.980 And when you mentioned that Biden being the third term, I don't think Barack Obama would have had the moxie
00:35:53.500 to do some of the things that Joe Biden has pulled off in this thing.
00:35:58.400 Barack Obama had a little bit more moderation than Joe Biden has shown.
00:36:02.240 And that's saying something because Barack Obama was not a moderate.
00:36:05.540 But Joe Biden has taken this debate further than I think even Barack Obama would have been willing to go if he had a third term.
00:36:11.480 And maybe that's to the advantage of those who want to preserve the country,
00:36:15.740 because it has hit a very hard nerve in American consciousness.
00:36:19.280 And it seems to be to have created a very powerful counter wave.
00:36:23.580 Just ask Target, Disney and Bud Light what their what their reaction is.
00:36:28.620 With that question and a terrific point and one that gives us, again,
00:36:33.060 all of us some hope that we can know that we can redeem this country's destiny and restore our values
00:36:41.800 and remove those who would like to take this, destroy this republic and all the rest of us.
00:36:50.080 Your last words here.
00:36:51.520 We always give our guests the last words, John, your concluding thoughts, if you will.
00:36:55.340 There is going to be a two week period where much larger pieces of evidence about the Biden family corruption scandal are going to come out.
00:37:02.580 We're going to learn more about what was in this document shown today.
00:37:05.140 We're going to learn more about what the IRS agent said.
00:37:07.880 We're going to learn more about the Russian disinformation ruse that was used to shut down Hunter Biden things.
00:37:13.540 This is a seminal moment for Republicans to, for the first time,
00:37:17.540 reverse the fake stories of the Biden family corruption and impose the true ones so that heading into the 2020 election,
00:37:25.560 whether Hunter Biden's indicted or not,
00:37:27.740 Americans can make a better informed decision than they were allowed to make in 2020.
00:37:31.180 I think the next three weeks are going to be interesting.
00:37:33.100 And the counteroffensive is also going to come.
00:37:34.860 I think it's highly probable that President Trump will be indicted once or twice in the next month.
00:37:40.260 And so the Democratic machinery of taking their political opponents down through the law enforcement realm
00:37:45.600 is going to accelerate, not decelerate.
00:37:48.160 Even in all of this oversight that's going on now,
00:37:51.300 Democrats don't seem in the slightest to lose any of their momentum towards weaponizing government further.
00:37:57.720 John Solomon, Just the News.
00:38:00.420 We appreciate it so much, John.
00:38:01.800 Thanks so much.
00:38:02.720 God bless you.
00:38:03.320 You as well, Lou.
00:38:04.280 Thank you.
00:38:05.120 That's it for us today.
00:38:06.400 Thanks, everybody, for listening.
00:38:07.760 Our guest here tomorrow will be Congressman Jim Jordan,
00:38:10.660 the hard-charging chairman of the House Commerce Committee.
00:38:13.920 We hope you'll join us for that and more.
00:38:15.840 And until then, thank you, God bless you, and may God bless America.
00:38:20.240 We'll be right back.
