00:01:22.140 Hello, everybody. I'm Lew Dobbs and welcome to The Great America Show.
00:01:26.220 Great to have you with us.
00:01:27.960 President Trump spent most of this week in a New York courtroom where he sat before Marxist-dim New York civil judge Arthur Engeron.
00:01:37.060 The president making history on just his second day in that courtroom, he became the first president ever to be gag ordered.
00:01:44.700 The Marxist judge didn't like President Trump's criticism of the judge and his clerk on Truth Social.
00:01:50.600 President Trump called out the clear and present Marxist-dim conspiracy led by the Department of Justice to get the Trump Organization.
00:01:58.740 Judge Engeron imposed the gag order on the president after he posted a photo of the judge's lead law clerk with Marxist-dim Senator Chuck Schumer.
00:02:09.680 Along with the gag order, the judge also barred the Trump family and Trump Organization from transferring assets without notifying the court-appointed monitor,
00:02:20.040 who just happens to be a Clinton-appointed former judge, Barbara Jones.
00:02:24.420 These Marxist left judicial operatives go to any length, it seems, to ruin President Trump and his companies that employ thousands of people in New York.
00:02:35.060 Marxist-dim district attorney Letitia James also stepping into the fray, saying she's seeking from the civil suit a $250 million fine against President Trump
00:02:47.040 to ban the Trumps from running New York businesses forever, banning Trump and the Trump Organization from buying commercial real estate in New York for five years.
00:02:57.260 And she intends to put forward a criminal referral to the Department of Justice.
00:03:03.080 There should be no problem in this corporate Marxist-dim regime.
00:03:07.560 She'll probably get medals for her effort.
00:03:10.020 These are sick, corrupt, and crooked people.
00:03:12.800 And I don't hear a word from anyone inside the Republican Party with a plan to stop these left-wing psycho-destroyers of both the country and our Constitution.
00:03:23.600 And the GOP leaders like Ronna McDaniel never acknowledge who the real leader of the Republican Party actually is.
00:03:31.740 Here she is.
00:03:32.980 I'm going to be a happy warrior like Kevin McCarthy, and I'm going to say, let's just get the business of the American people done.
00:03:38.840 Let's get this speaker vote done.
00:03:40.320 Let's make sure we don't have this motion to vacate so we don't have chaos again.
00:03:44.400 We can't do this next year.
00:03:46.280 We cannot do this and win.
00:03:48.200 If this happens again, we are jeopardizing a very small House majority.
00:03:52.540 What I will say to the individuals who did this yesterday who were fundraising through the whole process,
00:03:56.920 I really hope that every dollar they raise, they give to those 18 Republicans sitting in districts that Biden won.
00:04:04.420 Because those are the people who they put in jeopardy yesterday.
00:04:07.180 When we're not talking about Biden, we are not winning.
00:04:10.760 And we need to be talking about the failure of the Biden administration every single day
00:04:14.960 and what we're going to do to make the lives of the American people better.
00:04:18.240 Ronna Romney McDaniel should be embarrassed to not acknowledge that she's in her job because of one person and one person only,
00:04:26.980 and that is President Donald Trump.
00:04:28.660 She's pathetic.
00:04:30.980 And listen to the Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade insult a member of the Great Eight congressman
00:04:37.120 who led the way in removing RINO Kevin McCarthy as Speaker.
00:04:42.180 Are you happy following Matt Gaetz?
00:04:44.180 Is that your leader?
00:04:45.880 I'm not following Matt Gaetz.
00:04:47.280 I made my own decision.
00:04:48.560 I didn't ask Matt for his approval.
00:04:49.300 But if Matt Gaetz didn't challenge, you weren't going to challenge?
00:04:53.200 Do what?
00:04:53.880 If Matt Gaetz didn't stand up, you weren't going to challenge.
00:04:56.400 You know that.
00:04:56.840 I believe I would have.
00:04:58.460 Oh, come on.
00:05:00.340 Please, you were praying about it one minute.
00:05:02.820 The next minute you're going to lead an insurgency?
00:05:04.980 So you don't think that praying about it's important?
00:05:07.320 Is that what you're saying?
00:05:08.040 One minute you're praying about how you're going to vote with Matt Gaetz.
00:05:11.740 And the next minute you're going to lead an insurgency?
00:05:14.280 Listen, you've got a predetermined answer to everything.
00:05:17.180 I prayed about it.
00:05:18.440 No, I have an opinion about what's going on.
00:05:20.520 Do you have an opinion, too?
00:05:22.400 And Congressman Burchett handled that straightforwardly, like a gentleman.
00:05:26.840 Calling out Kilmeade at the same time for what Kilmeade is.
00:05:31.100 I want to bring in our guest today.
00:05:32.760 He's the gentleman you just heard in that interview.
00:05:35.240 Great American, Congressman Tim Burchett of Tennessee.
00:05:38.220 Sits on the House Oversight, Foreign Affairs, and Transportation Committees.
00:05:43.000 Congressman, great to have you back with us here on The Great America Show.
00:05:46.060 I want to begin first with what is the atmosphere now in the House that Kevin McCarthy is no more,
00:05:53.680 and what is to be is uncertain.
00:05:56.840 Yes, sir.
00:05:58.200 And thank you for having me on, Lou.
00:06:00.160 It's, you know, everybody's a little ticked off.
00:06:02.880 Tempers were hot in the room.
00:06:05.020 I mean, I've been in locker rooms before where you just got whipped or you just won or whatever.
00:06:12.480 And people are angry and they get up and yell.
00:06:15.460 And, you know, there's only about, I think, about three or four of us that were in the room at the time that actually voted against it.
00:06:24.140 So they couldn't even find us in the room.
00:06:26.880 And one of those was Eli Crane.
00:06:28.820 And he's a Navy SEAL sniper.
00:06:31.300 So I don't, I believe they had, if they had crossed the line, that he'd have, he'd have, he'd have put them back in their place.
00:06:37.860 But I think it's going to be okay.
00:06:39.940 You know, all these guys, they get all puffed up, you know.
00:06:44.280 And I always talk about how somebody throws a rock over the fence and then they run home and hide behind their mama's skirt.
00:06:51.880 And, but that's, you know, that's the name of the game.
00:06:55.300 It's, I had a, you know, I work for the people back here in Tennessee.
00:07:01.680 I don't work for the, I don't work for Washington.
00:07:04.840 And, and so, but yeah, you know, the thing is, I really honestly believe when we get to the floor with a speaker, it'll pass on the first ballot.
00:07:15.760 We're not going to do that 15 times.
00:07:19.100 And I've talked to many of the so-called gang of eight this morning and they all agree with me.
00:07:26.060 We're going to unify behind somebody and we're going to work together.
00:07:28.780 And we're going to hopefully put our fiscal ship back on calmer seas because you cannot keep taking in $5 trillion and spending $7 trillion.
00:07:39.240 You know, Lou, that doesn't work.
00:07:40.840 That new math still doesn't work for me.
00:07:43.860 And go ahead.
00:07:45.720 Well, no, I was going to, I'm just going to say it hasn't worked for a very long time.
00:07:48.840 But under this administration, it has been a, if you will, forgive the expression, a hypersonic charged deficit under Biden.
00:08:00.540 Everything that he's done has driven inflation, driven fiscal madness, the national debt at over $33 trillion.
00:08:09.280 I mean, people are living in some sort of la-la land on the left.
00:08:14.360 It's not a news break.
00:08:15.820 I realized to say that about the left.
00:08:17.600 But when it comes to the budget being just about, I mean, we're talking, this thing is approaching one and a half times the size of our economy.
00:08:26.580 And that, as they say, is unsustainable.
00:08:29.500 It's also nuts.
00:08:30.820 What do you think?
00:08:32.120 You're right.
00:08:32.640 It is a catastrophe of biblical proportion.
00:08:37.540 We cannot continue this path.
00:08:39.220 And, you know, we took the whole month of August off, two weeks into September.
00:08:45.100 September 30th was the end of our fiscal year.
00:08:48.480 As you know, September 30th comes around about this time every year.
00:08:52.760 And, you know, there was no urgency.
00:08:55.480 And then we passed this miserable continued resolution for 45 days.
00:09:00.840 And then, you know, what do we do when we get, we take the rest of the weekend off.
00:09:05.000 And then we come back on Monday.
00:09:06.600 And what do we do?
00:09:07.440 We rush to the floor late to name a post office.
00:09:12.080 All right.
00:09:12.200 So there just wasn't any urgency.
00:09:14.960 And this continued and going and pushing up against the holiday.
00:09:18.420 And then we're going to pass garbage.
00:09:20.320 And that's what happens.
00:09:21.500 Well, already, Jim Jordan, Steve Scalise, President Trump, apparently, are interested in the job.
00:09:30.560 I like what Jim Jordan has said so far.
00:09:33.000 We have yet to hear from Scalise about what his vision is.
00:09:37.200 We don't know what the, well, at least I don't know what the rest of the candidates, who they might be.
00:09:43.740 But I, do you have a, at this point, a favorite?
00:09:48.900 Jordan comes out of your caucus, the Freedom Caucus.
00:09:52.340 He speaks your language, I would think.
00:09:55.200 He speaks my language.
00:09:56.520 I'm not a member of the Freedom Caucus.
00:09:58.460 That's a, I told Jim Jordan one time, they get me for free.
00:10:02.300 And he said, what do you mean?
00:10:03.320 I said, I'm not a member of your club.
00:10:05.440 And you don't have to give me a chicken dinner or a decoder ring.
00:10:08.400 And I said, but I still vote more conservative than a lot of your members.
00:10:11.800 And he laughed and said, yeah, you do.
00:10:14.200 And so, I consider you, I consider you aligned.
00:10:18.100 How's that?
00:10:19.100 Yes, sir.
00:10:19.660 Yes, sir.
00:10:20.040 That'd be good.
00:10:21.880 But the honest truth is, is that you're right.
00:10:25.360 Jim Jordan is, is very conservative.
00:10:27.400 And he, he speaks the language.
00:10:29.480 And I told both him and Scalise, you know, that I'm, I'm not going to commit.
00:10:34.980 I want to hear what they all got to say.
00:10:36.740 There's several others that are out there talking about it.
00:10:39.440 And I want to give them a shot at it as well.
00:10:42.860 But it appears to me right now that Jim Jordan probably is the front runner and what I, some people I've talked to this morning.
00:10:53.180 Well, you know, I, I don't know of anybody in Congress who's more respected than he is, better regarded than he is, and are more experienced.
00:11:03.420 But that's not the case over at ABC News.
00:11:06.020 I just like to read you, oh, what, what they call a, a legal analyst.
00:11:12.140 And, you know, legal analysts know everything about Congress.
00:11:14.640 Oh, they do.
00:11:15.900 Yeah.
00:11:16.180 He, he said, on, she said, on ABC's The View, that Representative Jim Jordan is a political terrorist and a chaos agent.
00:11:26.280 Now, that passes for a, a expert opinion over at ABC News.
00:11:32.340 God help, ABC News.
00:11:34.840 Yeah, it's like these political scientists that I've never heard of telling us what just happened and, and analyzing it.
00:11:43.760 You know, if they were so great, they'd be, they'd be getting, they'd be up here on K Street getting seven figures a year, which they're not.
00:11:51.600 So, yeah, I, I don't, I can't tell you, I, I, I can't even spell ABC, Lou.
00:11:58.060 I can't tell you the last time I watched them.
00:12:00.660 Well, I, I couldn't tell you the last time I watched them.
00:12:03.540 I just read them today.
00:12:05.000 And that was plenty for me.
00:12:07.900 Let's, let's turn to the, to the issues here.
00:12:11.080 The, the, if you will, the atmospherics in the House right now, you got, you know, just about an even number, effectively, of Republicans and Democrats.
00:12:20.640 That's Marxists on one side and rhinos waiting to be something more to the left than they ought to be.
00:12:27.480 And I'm, and I'm just curious about how this goes down.
00:12:32.580 We, we see now that the establishment rhinos are attacking the Dickens out of Matt Gates.
00:12:39.480 They are going after him like nobody's business.
00:12:43.520 And now we just saw, as I read, ABC News going after Jim Jordan.
00:12:49.100 Anybody that sticks their head up over there better be ready for a lot of heat.
00:12:52.540 Well, you know, my daddy, a World War II Marine, these guns behind me actually took off the dead folks that he sent them to the promised land.
00:13:03.880 So he told me one time right before he died, he was laying up there in the veterans nursing home.
00:13:10.540 And I was mayor then, and I was always fighting the Chamber of Commerce crowd, wanting more taxes, wanting more government, and I'd always win.
00:13:19.480 But they were hitting me pretty hard this time.
00:13:22.300 Editorials, front page articles above the fold, trashing me pretty bad.
00:13:26.220 And I walked in, and I remember daddy, he'd had a massive stroke.
00:13:29.840 And, I mean, he was a combat engineer in the Second World War in Peleliu and Okinawa.
00:13:36.460 His colonel was Chesty Puller.
00:13:37.800 My dad was no wimp.
00:13:39.640 And he said, and he grunted out to me.
00:13:41.480 I could understand what he said, and mama could understand.
00:13:43.800 And that we were about it, because he'd had this, like I said, a massive stroke.
00:13:47.600 And he said, are they after you again?
00:13:49.940 And I said, yeah, daddy.
00:13:51.480 And I thought, you know, here he is.
00:13:54.580 He's going to meet Jesus here within just a few weeks.
00:13:57.260 And I knew it.
00:13:57.920 And he said, do you really want that bunch for you?
00:14:01.780 And I think that's what you've got to look at.
00:14:03.960 Do we really want the ABCs, the View, all this talking heads who, you know, who knows how they got to where they're at, but they've never seen them in a political arena.
00:14:15.140 And, you know, I don't want, that's my barometer.
00:14:19.220 If I turned around and saw these editorials praising me, I'd have to rethink what I was doing.
00:14:24.140 And that's the trouble with a lot of so-called conservatives.
00:14:28.260 They want praise and accolades from the left and from the intelligentsia and from the university crowd and all that.
00:14:35.980 But by doing that, you sell your soul.
00:14:38.260 And then they're never for you.
00:14:39.400 They'll gut you the first chance they get.
00:14:42.080 And so, you know, it's very shallow.
00:14:44.960 And what LBJ said, you want a friend in this town and get you a dog?
00:14:49.200 Well, I got three dogs right here in Tennessee, so I'm good.
00:14:53.460 Well, the Sioux have a wonderful war cry I refer to every once in a while about politics.
00:15:00.900 I've always admired their views on so many things and their philosophy.
00:15:06.820 But one of them was, before going into battle, they always said, may my enemy be worthy.
00:15:12.040 The sad part of it is, I don't believe your enemies are very worthy at this point.
00:15:18.280 And nonetheless, you've got a fight on your hands.
00:15:20.740 We're going to talk about that.
00:15:22.100 We're talking with Congressman Tim Burchett.
00:15:24.180 And we're going to be right back.
00:15:25.620 Please stay with us.
00:15:32.260 We're back with Congressman Tim Burchett.
00:15:34.460 And, Congressman, I would like to get a sense of what your constituents are saying right now,
00:15:39.040 the folks home in Tennessee, and what they're thinking of this spectacle.
00:15:46.040 I'll call it a spectacle right now.
00:15:48.340 We'll go into more what it is, this spectacle that they're watching in Washington, D.C.,
00:15:54.380 in the House of Representatives.
00:15:56.540 Well, as my wife pointed out to me very eloquently this morning, Lou, she said,
00:16:01.180 you know, baby, she said, you all are being criticized for following the exact rules
00:16:06.800 that you all voted on and passed.
00:16:08.620 And I thought, wow, baby, that's pretty good.
00:16:11.720 I'm going to use that today.
00:16:13.060 And so I'm using it, and I'm giving her full credit.
00:16:16.960 Not only is she smoking hot, she's a pretty smart lady, and she raised a beautiful little girl
00:16:21.640 before I came on the scene.
00:16:23.720 She was a single mom.
00:16:25.840 Her husband had passed away.
00:16:27.280 My wife's a widow.
00:16:28.340 Anyway, and I adopted a little girl, and I got the best two women in my life that she could have set.
00:16:33.440 Maybe my mama, but she's gone.
00:16:35.100 But I thought that was a pretty good gem, and I'm going to hang on to that one because she was right.
00:16:39.940 You know, we passed a rule, and we followed it.
00:16:42.920 Matt Gaetz is being, you know, they want to run him out of a party, which is pretty short-sighted,
00:16:47.180 if you think about it, because that gives the Democrats, that puts them very close to that edge.
00:16:53.160 And, you know, I think we're going to be fine, Lou.
00:16:59.120 I really do.
00:16:59.980 I think we're going to get a strong leader.
00:17:01.660 We're going to rally around them, and we're going to surprise a few folks.
00:17:07.560 Well, the 118th Congress has already surprised us plenty, and I want to see a lot more surprises
00:17:14.860 because what you all have done, and I want to say thank you to you and to the other seven members of the Great Eight
00:17:21.960 who made the difference in this moment in history.
00:17:26.540 You guys ought to be getting used to making history.
00:17:28.780 You made it at the beginning, and then in the negotiations for the speakership,
00:17:33.060 and then now in getting rid of the speaker.
00:17:37.200 And I think, by the way, I think you were right in both circumstances.
00:17:41.420 As we look at your constituents and we look at what's happening across the country,
00:17:47.100 the American people, I think, understand it pretty well because the 118th Congress have set a tone,
00:17:52.980 and I keep hoping you guys won't back away from it because you're wide open, you're talking straight,
00:17:59.500 you're out there in front of the American people, and then the little folks with, you know,
00:18:05.460 funny ties and things keep running around in the conference wanting silence and reverence.
00:18:10.580 And I say, tear it up.
00:18:13.840 I mean, I'd like to hear more yelling.
00:18:15.420 I'd like to see more point and screaming passion, and let's talk straight instead of all this crap
00:18:21.620 that the left is peddling every day.
00:18:25.300 That's what put us $33 trillion in debt, Lou, and that's why.
00:18:29.480 You know, we got marked down our credit rating for two reasons.
00:18:33.280 One, over the last 20 years, so it cuts both ways.
00:18:36.340 One was leadership, and the other was fiscal responsibility.
00:18:39.760 That's how we got to ride our ship.
00:18:42.540 We need leadership.
00:18:43.940 We don't need to take six weeks off before a big budget fight and gives us two weeks to do something.
00:18:50.920 And we don't need to keep this out of control, reckless spending like Ukraine.
00:18:56.020 Like, you know, it's just nonstop.
00:18:59.620 You know, we spend our money on these woke policies.
00:19:03.440 We're deporting basically Marxism to Central America through our State Department.
00:19:09.700 Millions and millions of dollars a year, billions, I guess, that we spend overseas on these programs.
00:19:14.460 You know, spend $114 billion on Ukraine, and yet our own people in Maui go without.
00:19:22.600 You know, they're giving a family $700.
00:19:25.880 And I'm not saying what we should do in Maui, but good gosh, $700 a family?
00:19:32.160 And then we're paying pensions in Ukraine?
00:19:36.200 Is this the America?
00:19:38.260 Is this what my dad bought and killed people for, and my mama's brother never came home from Europe over?
00:19:44.020 You know, it's just, to me, it's just lunacy.
00:19:47.820 And we keep going down this path, and we keep saying we're going to pass these little 30-day stopgaps.
00:19:58.320 And they tell us last time, let's pass this continued resolution, Birchett, so we don't have to pass another one.
00:20:04.460 And I say, well, that's like killing a crackhead.
00:20:06.140 I'm going to give you a rock or crack to get you off a crack.
00:20:09.420 It just doesn't work.
00:20:10.700 Yeah, it doesn't work.
00:20:12.460 It hasn't worked, and it hasn't worked for a very long time.
00:20:16.100 The idea that the regular order is not in place, it was moved in that direction, certainly.
00:20:23.000 And I'll give McCarthy some credit for keeping the initial part of that promise, but not for its full satisfaction of that promise.
00:20:31.040 And it's up to you, to everyone else in the Congress to make this happen, because we got here not just because of the Democrats, but also because of the Republicans.
00:20:42.660 And you all put up with people like Kevin McCarthy.
00:20:46.440 I'm sure he's a good man, but he's a weak man, and he is also a rhino.
00:20:50.980 And I don't get this feeling, and this is sort of interesting, I think, for probably the audience to think about.
00:20:58.840 I don't know what your religion says to you about it.
00:21:01.640 I do know what it says to me about it.
00:21:03.860 You fight evil wherever you find it.
00:21:06.260 And we've got a lot of other rules in Christianity that tell us to turn the other cheek, to be empathetic, sympathetic, and to take care of our fellow man.
00:21:16.440 But one way to do that is to make sure you fight evil, and you're confronting evil, in my opinion.
00:21:22.900 And I hope that every Republican in that house understands that.
00:21:26.580 It's demonic, actually.
00:21:28.200 And I go back to you quoting the Scripture, but Jesus didn't ask the money changers to leave the temple.
00:21:34.740 He threw them out.
00:21:35.900 He threw them out.
00:21:36.840 Physical force.
00:21:37.820 Turn the tables.
00:21:38.780 Turn the tables over.
00:21:39.940 He threw them out physically.
00:21:41.880 And so I think we kind of forget that.
00:21:44.180 And I agree with you.
00:21:48.640 This fight we have is, to me, a lot of times it's demonic.
00:21:55.260 I mean, we are the forces of evil.
00:21:57.960 You know, they talk about good being bad and bad being good.
00:22:02.560 That's really what we're at.
00:22:04.000 You know, it's military members, men wearing dresses, and our spokesmen or spokeswomen or whatever the heck they are.
00:22:14.180 Whatever they were born, it's not what they're dressing up as, you know.
00:22:17.120 And one of our economic, I mean, one of our nuclear regulatory officials, one of the top ones, you know, wears a dress.
00:22:27.660 And he's, you know, and they're, oh, this is celebration of life and all this stuff.
00:22:32.540 And then what does he do?
00:22:34.280 He gets caught stealing.
00:22:36.060 I mean, the guy is mentally not there.
00:22:38.380 We should have known.
00:22:40.060 He's mentally not there, you know.
00:22:42.100 And this is the guy we're putting out front of our nuclear secrets.
00:22:44.880 Well, Art, our putting in charge of public health in one instance as well.
00:22:50.960 But the reality is, you said it right.
00:22:54.680 I mean, these people are mentally ill.
00:22:56.740 And everybody knows that.
00:22:58.240 But there is a pretend barrier in this country.
00:23:01.400 Let's pretend that guys in skirts and wanting to outrace women in a swimming pool,
00:23:08.100 you can't even begin to say how crazy that is.
00:23:13.160 But nobody wants to say it's crazy.
00:23:15.900 And you're talking about the predicate for the end of times when you start talking about, you know,
00:23:20.840 evil is good and right is wrong.
00:23:23.880 And I mean, we're upside down in this country right now.
00:23:27.440 And we've got people who are honest to God, scared to death to speak the truth.
00:23:32.580 I agree.
00:23:33.520 You know, and COVID showed that, Lou.
00:23:35.540 COVID, in my opinion, showed just how far they, they being the government or whoever behind the scenes is pulling the strings,
00:23:43.480 can push this country.
00:23:45.060 You know, in COVID, they shut our businesses down.
00:23:47.540 There's a little cafeteria I go to.
00:23:49.180 It's like the Mecca on Middlebrook Pike called Wright's Cafeteria.
00:23:52.140 And David Wright is my dear friend.
00:23:53.960 His dad started it.
00:23:56.460 And he continued it.
00:23:57.980 Ended up losing his business during COVID.
00:24:00.280 And you multiply that all over the country.
00:24:02.660 But yet, but yet, they let the big boys stay open.
00:24:05.960 I go down here and I see a Walmart still open.
00:24:09.000 This is still, the big boys, the big corporate people are still open.
00:24:12.740 They closed, they closed a lot of, a lot of Christian churches down in the South.
00:24:19.020 And I noticed they went after the Hasidic Jews up in New York.
00:24:23.260 You know, and I just don't think that's by accident.
00:24:25.720 I do not, they showed how far they could push us.
00:24:29.140 And then, and then you see this rise and this surge and this transgender thing, which all of a sudden it's just, you think it's exploding everywhere.
00:24:37.880 It's still a very small percentage.
00:24:39.280 But the reason I feel like they got it, I don't know if it's the devil or who, but it's because these kids were shut in.
00:24:48.960 And the only way they had to get out was through that little computer or through this phone.
00:24:54.000 And, and, and they're very susceptible to suggestion.
00:24:57.800 And I had somebody in my office talking to me about, they said that I was voting against healthcare for transgenders.
00:25:04.760 And I said, no, no, if your, your child has cancer or whatever, you know, and she's, well, they said, you know, well, what is this about then?
00:25:12.820 I said, I'm voting against tax dollars for sex change operations, if that's what you mean.
00:25:17.420 And then I said, how did your child realize they were transgender?
00:25:21.100 And I said, well, you know, he was, he was like, I don't know, show tunes or she sang in the choir and all this stuff.
00:25:29.180 And she said, we, we kind of figured that he was, he was gay.
00:25:32.560 And I, you know, and it's East Tennessee.
00:25:35.260 Nobody cares.
00:25:36.280 Nobody cares.
00:25:37.260 We're freaking libertarians.
00:25:38.520 It's your business.
00:25:39.440 It's not my business.
00:25:40.660 And then she said, I said, well, how did he decide that he was a woman?
00:25:44.840 Well, he self-diagnosed over the computer and a website.
00:25:50.040 And I was like, power of suggestion, brother.
00:25:53.400 And I don't know who's, you know, you've got tick tock.
00:25:55.980 You've got the Chinese.
00:25:57.060 I don't know if they're, if they're behind it.
00:25:59.180 If they're, I mean, they're evil enough to do it.
00:26:01.580 Well, and we've been, we proved ourselves to be dumb enough to have it done.
00:26:05.760 Yes, sir.
00:26:06.200 And we allow it.
00:26:07.400 I want to talk to you about something that Congress isn't doing that you've just reminded me of.
00:26:14.100 We're not, we're not working.
00:26:15.720 Well, you're not functioning quite at an optimal level.
00:26:18.240 I'll agree with you there, sir.
00:26:19.500 Tim, thanks so much.
00:26:21.960 We're going to continue.
00:26:22.880 I really enjoy this conversation.
00:26:25.160 We're coming right back for more of it.
00:26:27.220 Stay with us.
00:26:33.660 We're back.
00:26:34.480 We're talking with Congressman Tim Burchett.
00:26:36.800 And Congress, I promised I'd call you Tim.
00:26:40.240 And so let me apologize for that.
00:26:42.600 Tim, let's start with this.
00:26:44.220 We're talking about these mentally ill people who are doing this to our children.
00:26:49.980 And I'm talking about the gender change and the genital mutilation, which is still just as barbaric as it was at any point in the Middle East where it was practiced for for a very long time.
00:27:01.960 Why haven't we had?
00:27:03.520 And you said this.
00:27:04.500 You said you don't know how big it is.
00:27:06.340 It's not as big as people suggest.
00:27:08.200 It's dominating media and politics on the left.
00:27:10.900 So my question is, why in the world hasn't the United States Congress held a hearing to find out who the doctors are that are mutilating these children?
00:27:20.280 Why haven't they held a conference to find out how teachers suddenly decided they were qualified psychiatrists and psychologists and were the appropriate social workers to deal with this issue and not tell parents and bring in parents to explain what they think and get to the science of what is transgenderism?
00:27:42.140 And is it a mental condition, a psychological condition?
00:27:45.480 Is it physiological?
00:27:46.720 I don't know.
00:27:47.440 But why doesn't Congress take it upon itself to educate the American people and themselves?
00:27:54.120 This would be, I think, one of the greatest national services right now that you could perform, is to hold hearings and produce those results.
00:28:03.120 Well, you have no place in Congress because you're speaking common sense.
00:28:07.840 I suspect a lot of it has to do with guts.
00:28:10.440 And that's the two things, no common sense and no guts.
00:28:18.280 And you're afraid to be labeled.
00:28:20.340 And, you know, I'm not afraid of it.
00:28:22.740 I have many friends that are gay, that happen to be gay.
00:28:26.900 They're not my gay friends.
00:28:28.060 They're just my friends that happen to be gay.
00:28:29.540 I don't, it's not my business.
00:28:31.460 But I talked to several of them that have confided in me, in fact, that they think that that is a mental illness, that gender mutilation is wrong.
00:28:41.740 But even they are shouted down by a very vocal minority.
00:28:47.060 They're afraid, you know, for whatever reason.
00:28:50.900 And to me, that is just, you know, it's a, it's just a bizarre, bizarre thing that's going on in our country.
00:29:01.080 And I.
00:29:01.640 How about Congress doing something about it?
00:29:04.020 How about holding those hearings?
00:29:05.360 What do you think?
00:29:06.340 I think it's a great idea.
00:29:07.440 I think it's, I think it's demonic myself, but I don't have the, you know, I don't have the bully pulpit, I guess you could say.
00:29:14.480 I'm, I'm sure I'll be ostracized for saying that, but I think it is demonic.
00:29:19.160 I don't think it's right that some child be allowed to mutilate himself or some doctor private, you know, Vanderbilt Hospital claimed that they weren't doing it.
00:29:27.600 And then low and bold, they brought out those tapes and showed them saying how profitable it was for them.
00:29:33.020 It's a, you know, agreed.
00:29:34.840 It's just a follow the dollar thing.
00:29:36.540 I think, I think they see another avenue to make money and they're going to do it.
00:29:40.260 Well, damn their hides to do that to children.
00:29:43.640 Absolutely.
00:29:44.420 And, you know, and I guess, damn our hides if we don't do something.
00:29:48.000 If we don't do something about it.
00:29:49.420 Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up.
00:29:51.880 Virginia Fox is the chair of our education committee.
00:29:55.080 I'll talk to Virginia.
00:29:56.280 She sits beside me in our little bipartisan prayer group.
00:29:59.640 I always make sure she has a chair with hand, with, with armrests on it so she can hang her purse over it.
00:30:05.100 It's a lot like my mama used to do.
00:30:07.220 And I'll, I'll bring that up with her.
00:30:08.680 She's a very tenacious person.
00:30:10.240 Well, I'm sure everybody's grateful to you for that and to the, to the Congress when it happens.
00:30:16.420 I want to, I want to turn to, to where we go right now.
00:30:22.220 We've got a, we've also got four committees, three committees, investigating committees and a subcommittee on weaponization.
00:30:30.920 I have heard that there is some hope that if Jim Jordan, for example, were to be a speaker of, and I'm not, well, I guess I am.
00:30:41.180 I'm proselytizing just a little bit, that if he were the speaker, that it would actually turbocharge those, those hearings, those investigations.
00:30:53.920 And we, you and I both know it needs to be turbocharged.
00:30:57.320 Time is running out very quickly.
00:30:59.460 Yeah, I agree.
00:31:00.460 You remember the Clinton, the Clinton impeachment trial, how they just went on and on and on.
00:31:07.880 And, you know, we drag out some information about every two weeks.
00:31:13.600 And I agree with you.
00:31:15.580 We should add Hunter Biden before us.
00:31:17.700 You know, they had Donald Trump Jr., I think, three times before a committee.
00:31:22.220 And I agree with you.
00:31:23.520 It's time.
00:31:24.040 And that's something that we, I feel like leadership just did not do.
00:31:29.080 You know, when I was, when I had my final discussion with our speaker over, one of the things I brought up was the term limits bill.
00:31:37.500 And another one, and he said, well, I didn't have anything to do with that.
00:31:40.240 It went to a committee.
00:31:41.020 And I said, well, what about the coming in in August?
00:31:44.160 And he said, well, I don't set the calendar.
00:31:46.540 And I thought, you know, would you have said that to Nancy Pelosi?
00:31:50.060 I mean, no.
00:31:51.800 I say, dare say, she would have, she know, she knew where everything was.
00:31:55.960 And that's, and I was like, well, you're the speaker.
00:31:58.640 I mean, you're supposed, well, you know, the rules are, and I'm like, you don't want to centralize.
00:32:03.240 And I was like, no, no, don't start down that.
00:32:05.600 I need a strong leader.
00:32:06.820 And that was the first part of that conversation, actually, is what solidified me.
00:32:12.240 And that just was icing on the cake.
00:32:15.100 But, yeah, leadership.
00:32:18.340 As we look at this effort to impeach, all you guys have to do is, I mean,
00:32:24.160 I love the fact that the left said that you didn't take a vote on it.
00:32:27.320 Well, neither did Nancy Pelosi.
00:32:29.380 Hey, no.
00:32:30.360 And then you have short memories, and so does the media.
00:32:32.680 That's ridiculous.
00:32:33.720 Well, and so do the rhinos.
00:32:34.940 The rhinos that are out talking about, we should have a vote.
00:32:38.320 And a number of people had to point out that, no, you don't.
00:32:41.880 The House is simply charging this president with what is obvious, his corruption, his bribery, and his, as you put it,
00:32:52.620 and I think absolutely correctly, his demonic corruption throughout the entire federal government.
00:32:59.620 The Marxist Dems and the federal deep state, they're in absolute charge of every agency of our federal government.
00:33:07.180 Every agency, Obama planted a lot of those people in, and, you know, 20 million so-called evangelical Christians
00:33:14.920 tried to stay home, decided to stay home.
00:33:18.960 And I dare say if they asked the Lord what they need to be doing on Election Day,
00:33:23.060 it wouldn't be sitting on their butts watching The View.
00:33:26.360 Can I give you a prediction I've got, Lou?
00:33:28.900 Absolutely.
00:33:29.560 I'm going to go out there on a limb here.
00:33:31.220 You spark something in my mind that I've been talking about or formulating.
00:33:38.160 So I don't believe Joe Biden will be the candidate for president.
00:33:42.960 I think that they will.
00:33:45.400 I've talked to too many Democrats that said, well, we've got to do something.
00:33:49.240 They're Democrats talking about running for president now, openly.
00:33:52.960 I'm in the gym with them, you know, and I see them and we're talking and, you know, and I get it.
00:33:58.020 And so where are they going to go?
00:34:00.600 And the only person that's got the name recognition that I see is this knucklehead California governor.
00:34:06.000 But you've got to ask yourself, how is he going to run?
00:34:09.400 How is he going to recreate his history?
00:34:11.680 Well, let me tell you how he's going to recreate his history.
00:34:14.800 It's over now.
00:34:15.740 But there was a little vote back when he was governor over these folks going on strike.
00:34:21.760 Was he going to let them get aid from the state?
00:34:28.240 You know, if you go on strike, it's voluntary.
00:34:30.020 If you lose your job, a lot of times it's not.
00:34:33.320 So who could recreate his history better than Hollywood?
00:34:38.720 Right.
00:34:39.340 And Hollywood actors and writers and all that.
00:34:41.980 So I submit to you, I know that sounds a little far fetched, but it's it's really not.
00:34:47.780 That's the bunch that writes the big checks, the dot com liberals and in the Hollywood elitist that want to recreate history and make us all look like fools.
00:34:57.060 And and put this filth and garbage out on these on the movie screens.
00:35:02.400 So, you know, go ahead.
00:35:04.460 I was just going to say, I don't think the Republicans need a lot of help looking like fools from time to time.
00:35:09.640 With if we didn't have Donald Trump and I don't care where the people like him, don't like him or conservative or liberal.
00:35:16.700 He's the only one in the Republican Party who's had an original idea in the last 10 years, maybe longer.
00:35:23.420 And without him there, there wouldn't be a prominent personality and anyone with a vision.
00:35:28.540 And he's already demonstrated he can deliver on what he thinks, what he says and what is good for America.
00:35:34.180 Can I give you one quick story that to me typifies Trump?
00:35:37.660 Well, he always gets my name right.
00:35:41.020 First of all, that's what I'm pleased to say, because he always says Birchit.
00:35:45.320 And he said, so I asked somebody, how do you do it?
00:35:47.180 And his front man said, well, I tell him it's not your name.
00:35:49.520 And he looked in the mirror and they said he goes, Birchit, Birchit, Birchit.
00:35:53.300 And he always gets it right.
00:35:54.620 So I love that.
00:35:56.300 But so and I was with him a few weeks ago and he was just as just as fun and wild as ever.
00:36:01.840 But but I heard this story and I'm going to verify it with him one day when I get it, when I get three minutes with him.
00:36:07.060 But he was eating with Xi Jinping, I think it was.
00:36:10.740 You know, he was down at Mar-a-Lago.
00:36:12.080 I don't know if you remember that when that happened.
00:36:14.260 That's when they lost all those missiles at Syria.
00:36:17.120 That's the story.
00:36:18.300 So there's President Trump eating the most delicious chocolate cake ever or something, whatever it was.
00:36:25.840 And and beautiful chocolate cake, the most beautiful chocolate cake ever that we had prepared, especially for me at Mar-a-Lago.
00:36:35.000 And so Trump's down there and somebody walks in and whispers in his ear.
00:36:40.400 And I've been in the room when somebody comes in and whispers in his ear.
00:36:43.120 And he he looks over at Xi Jinping and says, you know, we just lost we just launched 100 missiles at Syria.
00:36:53.160 Xi Jinping puts his fork down and says they shouldn't have been gassing kids and picks his fork back up and starts eating.
00:37:00.760 If you name me one president in my lifetime that would have, you know, you would have asked for the U.N.'s permission.
00:37:07.020 You would have held a hearing.
00:37:09.220 You would have told them you're getting ready to send those missiles.
00:37:11.680 You know, I just go down the line of Republicans and and, you know, maybe not Reagan, but everyone since then.
00:37:19.580 And, you know, and that was Trump.
00:37:21.880 And he he rolled the dice, but it was on the side of right.
00:37:25.400 And that's what America should be doing.
00:37:27.880 We don't we need to get caught.
00:37:29.360 You know, he got us out of wars and every the last three presidents have gotten us in wars.
00:37:35.320 They let Russia walk.
00:37:36.420 You know, Bush did, Clinton did, Obama did.
00:37:39.640 They let them, you know, those lines in the sand just were written with an eraser.
00:37:46.380 And by contrast, this this puppet impaired, compromised president and his band of fools are trying to get us into a conflict.
00:37:54.480 It seems very obviously.
00:37:55.700 Congressman, I have really enjoyed our conversation, and I hope you'll come back soon and wish you and all of the Republicans in that Congress the greatest of luck in finding a new speaker and finding a new way for this country to to move forward.
00:38:14.600 Thanks so much.
