00:00:00.000 I'm Lou Dobbs with this Great America Midday Update.
00:00:03.600 June jobs report misses targets.
00:00:06.440 The U.S. adding just 209,000 jobs for the month of June,
00:00:11.080 100,000 fewer than the previous month.
00:00:14.140 The lackluster numbers for June
00:00:15.940 mark the lowest monthly gain since December of 2020,
00:00:20.120 excluding the losses from the China virus pandemic.
00:00:23.600 E.J. Antony, fellow at the Heritage Foundation,
00:00:26.300 says 90% of all jobs added during the Biden administration
00:00:31.140 have been people regaining their pre-COVID jobs.
00:00:35.200 And Antony says 90% of the new jobs created last month
00:00:39.340 went to foreign-born workers.
00:00:42.040 Here he is.
00:00:43.120 0% of all the jobs added during the Biden administration
00:00:46.280 have simply been just regaining jobs that were lost from COVID.
00:00:50.800 You know, it's very difficult to say
00:00:52.360 that's a job gained, quote-unquote,
00:00:54.920 when we're talking about forcibly shutting down
00:00:58.620 a place of employment
00:00:59.620 and then later allowing someone to go back to work.
00:01:02.700 I don't see that as job creation,
00:01:05.020 and neither should the president, certainly.
00:01:07.000 So another key thing that we're looking at
00:01:09.060 has been the disparity between foreign-born workers
00:01:11.960 and native-born workers.
00:01:13.760 And in fact, again,
00:01:14.980 some 90% of the jobs we have right now
00:01:18.000 above pre-pandemic levels
00:01:19.680 have all gone to foreign-born workers,
00:01:22.060 which is very interesting that this is the first month
00:01:25.180 when native-born workers have finally gotten back 0.99
00:01:27.760 to pre-pandemic levels.
00:01:29.180 One of the reasons why that's so interesting
00:01:31.580 is because the BLS, the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
00:01:35.140 has to assign weights to both of these categories,
00:01:38.340 and they do that separately.
00:01:39.840 And what that does is it gives you an estimate
00:01:42.340 for how much each of those categories are increasing.
00:01:45.520 But if those weights are off,
00:01:47.420 then it means the total employment numbers are off.
00:01:49.920 The Secret Service plodding along in its probe
00:01:52.720 of the Biden White House cocaine caper.
00:01:55.780 The Secret Service looks like it's stonewalling 1.00
00:01:58.220 of what they've surely already found
00:02:00.180 on those White House videotapes.
00:02:02.820 Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer
00:02:04.800 is fed up with the Secret Service
00:02:06.300 and the Biden White House cocaine caper cover-up.
00:02:10.200 He's demanding the Secret Service
00:02:11.920 brief his committee within the week.
00:02:14.580 The Marxist Dems are ramping up their newest cheat
00:02:17.340 for the 2024 election.
00:02:18.960 The Marxist Dems pushing to allow illegal immigrants 0.99
00:02:22.460 to vote, of course.
00:02:23.820 And now they're starting their campaign
00:02:26.040 to give the vote to 16- and 17-year-olds.
00:02:29.480 And they won, of course, in Bernie Sanders, Vermont,
00:02:32.640 the town of Brattleboro,
00:02:34.120 voting to allow 16- and 17-year-olds to vote
00:02:37.220 in local elections and serve on the community select board.
00:02:41.340 Republican Governor Phil Scott vetoed
00:02:43.480 that change in the town charter.
00:02:45.120 The Marxist Dems-controlled state legislature
00:02:48.340 then overrode his veto.
00:02:50.720 Good luck, Vermont.
