00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Tuesday, June 9th.
00:00:04.940 Some real good news today out of a Texas courthouse.
00:00:08.700 The jury in the Carmelo Anthony murder case reaching a swift verdict after deliberating for more than just two hours this afternoon.
00:00:15.960 Jury has found Carmelo Anthony guilty of murder. He faces life in prison.
00:00:19.880 Carmelo Anthony's mother sobbed in court after the judge read the guilty verdict, which was a rather short one.
00:00:26.260 16 year old at the time track and football star austin metcalf was brutally stabbed to death
00:00:31.360 by carmelo anthony in april of 2025 during a championship track meet in frisco texas
00:00:37.420 metcalf died in his twin brother hunter's arms over the weekend as the trial played out numerous
00:00:43.020 eyewitnesses who testified on the witness stand said that anthony instigated the fight and stabbed
00:00:47.660 metcalf in an unprovoked attack current former students who witnessed the brutal stabbing
00:00:52.600 testified under oath that Carmelo Anthony was looking to start a fight. The state, as I said,
00:00:57.180 rested its case on Saturday, calling just 21 witnesses to the stand. And then, of course,
00:01:02.960 this afternoon, the jury decided between murder and manslaughter or the acquittal, which we thank
00:01:09.720 those jurors for doing the right thing. Folks, it's election day in some states, and there's
00:01:15.580 some states that we've got to keep an eye on. Election day is happening right now in Maine as
00:01:20.920 we sit here and speak uh south carolina uh among the two who are holding their primaries this
00:01:26.800 afternoon uh over in maine the marxist dams have their senate candidate who uh i guess you could
00:01:33.280 say a self-proclaimed nazi had a nazi tattoo tattooed on his chest uh hasn't really had to
00:01:40.020 answer any questions about that or why he had it uh but he's their leading candidate down in south
00:01:44.780 carolina gubernatorial primaries for both the republicans and the democrats so some big races
00:01:50.060 to keep an eye on down there. 0.78
00:01:52.760 Vice President J.D. Vance this afternoon
00:01:55.200 announcing that he's referring Democrat Governor,
00:01:57.820 Marxist Dem Governor, I should say,
00:01:59.120 Tim Waltz and the Attorney General there
00:02:01.160 to the Department of Justice's anti-fraud division
00:02:03.580 for a criminal investigation after allegations
00:02:06.420 they allowed billions of dollars of fraud
00:02:08.960 to go on in their state.
00:02:11.000 Now, this is no news.
00:02:13.000 The Oversight Committee's report
00:02:14.340 to which J.D. Vance is using to refer them
00:02:16.420 lays out that senior officials in Waltz's office
00:02:19.280 and also in Ellison's office, were aware of credible systemic fraud in DHS programs
00:02:24.620 as early as 2019 in the Department of Education's child nutrition programs by 2020 of April.
00:02:31.500 In the Feeding Our Future case, the MDE officials had had to find serious deficiencies
00:02:35.540 yet voluntary continued payments for another eight months until the FBI finally raided their offices.
00:02:42.280 This was not required by any court order.
00:02:45.140 State agencies also had clear authority to suspend and stop payments.
00:02:48.240 to suspend the fraudsters without warning for courts,
00:02:52.460 FBI direction, or federal orders.
00:02:54.600 But of course, they refused to use it.
00:02:56.780 And lastly, officials repeatedly cited litigation threats
00:02:59.220 and fear of racial accusations
00:03:02.080 as the reason that they kept cutting the checks,
00:03:04.980 not the law, not regulation,
00:03:07.600 just politics as usual for the Marxist Democrats.
00:03:11.700 Now, we had mentioned some good news
00:03:12.940 out of that courthouse in Texas,
00:03:14.600 some bad news out of another courthouse.
00:03:16.720 The man accused of killing a woman
00:03:17.920 on a north carolina light rail has been deemed incompetent to stand trial in a federal case
00:03:23.540 following a mental evaluation to carlos brown jr 34 year old is charged with the fatal stabbing
00:03:29.520 of the ukrainian woman irena zartusko who was 23 years old while aboard a light rail
00:03:34.020 in the lynx blue line in charlotte of august of 2025 he's expected to be committed to a
00:03:40.880 special facility under the direction of the u.s attorney general for treatment aimed at restoring
00:03:45.640 incompetency. If he's later
00:03:47.740 found competent, the federal case could resume
00:03:49.960 but I guess it's
00:03:51.740 not exactly hopeful
00:03:53.640 when somebody walks free like
00:03:55.760 that. Not the best news
00:03:57.300 over there. First U.S.
00:03:59.700 Assistant Attorney for the Central District of California
00:04:02.120 has dropped a major bombshell
00:04:03.980 announcement this afternoon
00:04:05.820 confirming that federal elections
00:04:07.940 fraud charges could be coming
00:04:09.800 against individuals in California.
00:04:12.220 The U.S. Attorney there telling
00:04:13.580 Glenn Beck that his office expects to bring charges
00:04:15.800 in the next one to two months
00:04:17.840 once key election official results
00:04:19.860 are certified so that prosecutors
00:04:21.980 can prove the allegations in court.
00:04:24.600 Yesterday we were told by
00:04:25.820 Gavin Newsom and
00:04:27.500 many other people across the state of California
00:04:30.180 that there's nothing to worry
00:04:32.040 about. We were actually even told
00:04:33.480 by Steve Hilton, the gubernatorial
00:04:36.440 candidate out in California
00:04:37.640 that there's no fraud taking place, but
00:04:39.880 there must be something going on because
00:04:42.020 it's now been a week to the day
00:04:43.400 we still don't know who's won the elections there just about 70 to 80 percent of the vote
00:04:48.380 has been counted still no clear winner the only person who has been gaining in the race is the
00:04:54.520 number two candidate for the la mayoral race which is of course screwed uh spencer pratt out of that
00:05:00.580 so clear amounts of fraud which continue to go by the wayside please be sure to join us tonight
00:05:06.200 folks each and every night 6 p.m eastern time for the great america show we'll see you there
00:05:09.880 I'm John Fawcett with This Great America Show Midday Update.
