The Great America Show - Wednesday Update： May 14, 2025

00:00:00.000 Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show midday update for Wednesday,

00:00:04.340 May 14th. Happy Wednesday, folks. We get some big news coming out of the Middle East. President

00:00:09.020 Trump on his Middle East tour has now left Saudi Arabia. He's out now in Qatar. President Trump

00:00:15.040 has secured a historic $1.2 trillion economic commitment from the nation of Qatar. So if you're

00:00:21.680 listening to Mark Levin, if you're listening to the Larry Kudlow's of the world, if you're listening

00:00:25.460 to the Rhinos, the Marxist Dems, they'll tell you that President Trump is over in the Middle

00:00:29.800 East, bowing down to the Middle East, bowing down to Iran, but it's actually quite the opposite.

00:00:36.480 He's now secured trillions of dollars while being over in the Middle East. If that's not enough for

00:00:41.240 you, President Trump has now imposed more sanctions on Iran after a fourth round of nuclear talks. The

00:00:47.800 U.S. Treasury Department announced this week sweeping sanctions against a network of corporations accused

00:00:53.500 of helping Iran avoid sanctions on its oil industry by obscuring the true origin of the product and

00:00:59.780 in other words, they'll ship it through another nation through another nation to make it look

00:01:04.420 like it's not coming from the origin. President Trump not putting up with it. Turning now to some

00:01:10.020 news here at home. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson today says he will support a stock trading ban by

00:01:17.140 members of Congress. This comes as controversy about, we'll call it well-timed trades. We don't want to accuse

00:01:22.740 anybody Nancy Pelosi of Dan Crenshaw of, sorry about that, of insider trading. So we'll just call it

00:01:29.820 well-timed trades. Mike Johnson's saying he's in favor of it because he doesn't think we should have

00:01:35.520 any appearance in Congress of impropriety. He said that at a conference this afternoon. He added that

00:01:41.880 members' ability to trade has been abused in the past and he thinks that a few bad actors have

00:01:46.820 quote, discolored it for the rest of the people. Over on the Senate side, Marxist Dem Senator Chris

00:01:53.020 Murphy. He's an election denier. I don't know if I've told you folks this, but he's already casting

00:01:58.120 doubts on the legitimacy of the 2026 midterm elections. He says Trump is quote, destroying democracy.

00:02:08.600 Well, was Murphy around when President Trump was indicted like 700 times? Not literally, but

00:02:14.420 you know, faced over 700 years in jail. Was he around in 2016 when they spied on President Trump's

00:02:20.220 campaign? What does that do to democracy? Well, take a listen to this Marxist Dem, Chris Murphy,

00:02:26.840 and how he says the 2020 midterm elections might not be legitimate. Election denier.

00:02:34.620 Look at the pay-to-play going on. It's staggering and it's all out in the open. It's almost as if to

00:02:40.780 say, you know, when you're president, you can do it. Yeah, I mean, this is the conversation we're

00:02:49.600 having right now inside the Democratic Party. How urgent is the moment? You know what I believe,

00:02:53.840 Nicole. I believe that there's no guarantee that we are going to have a free and fair election in

00:02:58.080 2026. I think he's trying to rig our democracy, to destroy dissent, to cripple the political

00:03:04.500 opposition. So that even if his approval ratings are in the 30s, in the fall of next year, there

00:03:10.980 isn't the ability for his opposition to muster a real campaign. So I think we've got to act with

00:03:16.960 tremendous urgency. And we have to make the corruption and the destruction of democracy the

00:03:22.000 number one issue. So we've got this crypto regulation bill pending before Congress. The only way we should

00:03:29.240 pass that bill, the only way that we should move that bill forward is if it unwinds Trump's crypto

00:03:35.580 corruption. That would be an example of Democrats saying, you know what, we're not going to pretend

00:03:41.600 that this is business as usual. Unless you are helping us stop Trump's corruption and his attempt

00:03:47.440 to destroy democracy, then we're not moving legislation forward. That's the main thing. That's the problem

00:03:54.600 that we should be solving for. And that's a fight that we're going to continue to have, a discussion

00:03:59.180 we're going to continue to have. Never did I believe after January 6th, would any Marxist dem

00:04:04.760 still be an election denier, right? That undermines democracy. And the Marxists in New York having a

00:04:11.980 little bit of a tough time, Kathy Hochul and her friends. A judge has stripped New York City of its

00:04:16.620 control over Rikers Island, citing unprecedented violence and mismanagement. Federal judge stripping

00:04:23.160 the city of control over Rikers Island in a 77-page ruling earlier this week, U.S. Chief District Judge

00:04:31.320 Laura Taylor Swain officially stripped New York City and the Department of Corrections of full control

00:04:36.400 over Rikers, citing a decade-long failure to protect inmates from, quote, grave and immediate harm,

00:04:43.320 including unconstitutional levels of violence, abuse, and systemic mismanagement. Now, this decision

00:04:50.140 comes after Judge Swain previously found the city in civil contempt of 18 separate provisions of the

00:04:56.880 consent judgment and multiple court orders dating back to 2015. Now, this is not also to mention

00:05:02.740 about how many illegals are being housed at Rikers Island. I think it makes it a little bit easier now 0.80

00:05:08.780 for Tom Holman and the boys to go on in and get those folks the heck out of America. Smartmatic,

00:05:14.320 you've all heard of Smartmatic, right, is suffering a big setback in their Fox News case after a New

00:05:21.060 York judge has ordered the company to prove evidence of damages. Back in 2021, February of 2021,

00:05:27.480 Fox News moved to dismiss this $2.7 billion case, calling it a meritless nuisance. Fox News argued at

00:05:34.700 the time, if the First Amendment means anything, it means that Fox cannot be held liable for fairly

00:05:39.700 reporting and commenting on competing allegations in a hotly contested and actively litigated election.

00:05:47.480 Now, folks, if we had a fair legal system, you would think back in 2021, the judge would have

00:05:51.700 ruled on this, but I guess better late than never, as I said today, that judge in the New York court

00:05:57.240 ordering the company to prove it suffered actual damages following the Fox News reporting.

00:06:02.840 I think they're going to have a very, very tough time proving that because the election machines of

00:06:08.740 Smartmatic are still all in the states that they were before. So I'm not really sure how you prove

00:06:13.540 that. Folks, please be sure to join me today and each and every day for The Great America Show

00:06:17.580 and twice a day for The Great America Show midday updates. We'll see you tonight, 6 p.m. Eastern for
