00:11:07.360terrific to have you back here on the show. I want to get to some of your numbers. I was going over
00:11:12.960your polling. You put out your M&A every single month. But this month, I found it particularly
00:11:18.700alarming. 55% of the American people believe this country is on the wrong track. Talk to me.
00:11:28.180Well, actually, you know, it's a lot better than when Biden was president, where it was much higher.
00:11:34.500And the difference is when you look at the direction in the country right now,
00:11:38.040if you're a Republican, you say right direction, 70 to 20. So you got Democrats saying wrong track,
00:11:43.36079-17. Independence, that's the key. 69-22. And the ones who are undecided for the House,
00:11:49.54055-12. But also in the lower right-hand corner of this slide that you've got on the screen,
00:11:56.020if they're in four or ten people that get right-of-center news,
00:11:59.600pardon me, Fox News, Newsmax, listen to your podcast, I would say it's fair. You say right
00:12:08.980direction, 6826. They hear that the economy is growing, inflation is being reduced, the border
00:12:14.160is secure. They're hearing that strong things, positive things about America. If they're in
00:12:21.940left of center news, which is CNN, they consume CNN, MSNBC, et cetera, they say we're on track
00:12:29.4607325 because there's nothing that Donald Trump can do right that they agree with. If they don't
00:12:35.220watch cable or they don't get news regular news sources and that's about three and ten voters
00:12:40.100because there's a little overlap between left and right that they go to different different news
00:12:46.060sources but if they don't watch cable regularly and they just really an entertainment kind of
00:12:52.440sports and you know whatever entertainment you like to watch yes no but they say the
00:13:00.540countries on the road track 7221 so where they get information really matters because there's a
00:13:08.080there was a question that i had last month in the june survey at mclaughlin online we put it up
00:13:13.260we're 51 and what we asked was from what you've read or heard read or seen do you uh uh you know
00:13:21.020support or oppose the ceasefire agreement that president trump uh got with iran and only 5134
00:13:28.560they supported it. And what it was, was if they went to left of center news, they disapproved the
00:13:35.840ceasefire. And so here you are, the left of center news people who oppose, you know, stopping Iran0.54
00:13:41.740from getting nuclear weapons. At the same time, they're opposing a ceasefire. And you know what
00:13:46.720it's all about? Donald Trump. America is totally polarized. In this survey, he has a 49 approval
00:13:52.180rating. He's got a 47 disapproved. And everything is polarized in America, whether you like Donald
00:13:57.980trump or whether you're not whether you don't like him and that's the way the mainstream media
00:14:03.720the legacy media views them and that's what we were up against in the campaign and uh you know
00:14:08.940now we're back into those into those modes so so you mentioned the midterms which are
00:14:14.720those are people who don't work in elections and ever worked in elections and really
00:14:18.980and i've been saying this john there's really like maybe a month to the midterm elections right
00:14:23.900because we're we're in August pretty much now. People don't pay attention to what goes on in
00:14:28.260August. And then the first two weeks of September are pretty much lost because kids are going back
00:14:31.680to school and whatnot. So you've really got about a month and change till the midterm elections.
00:14:37.120And you've got the general ballot at this is as tight as I've seen any pollster have it. So I
00:14:42.160want to get your sense on this at forty four, forty four, forty six in a slight favor for the
00:14:48.520Democrats. There's been pollsters who are saying it's at 11 to 15 points, which I don't believe
00:14:55.020at a two point spread right here. I think it's probably in the margin of error favoring the
00:14:59.680Republicans right now. Well, it's it's a thousand. Our poll is done of a thousand likely voters
00:15:05.060nationwide. We do it every month consistently. We model it after after national turnout. So it
00:15:11.420matches up with ironically, it'll match up with the CNN exit polls from 2024. It's the one poll
00:15:17.640they can't get wrong. But the big difference is these other media polls, you got to read the
00:15:25.400fine print. When they say adults, that means they're not even registered voters. They could
00:15:29.500be illegal immigrants. Adults, and then you have registered voters. Well, not every voter votes,0.89
00:15:37.180particularly in midterms, because you had 155 million people go to the polls in 2024.
00:15:42.600in 2018 uh trump's midterm during his first term 118 million people voted in 2022 only 112 million
00:15:52.700people voted which was up from you know previous midterms but that's you know that's a significant
00:16:00.400uh downturn and turnout you know because you look at the president trump's not on the ballot
00:16:05.860and trump has a 49 approval on this and the republicans are only getting 44 so there's a
00:16:11.480five-point gap and what you're also seeing is the republicans aren't getting it done in a lot of
00:16:16.980ways where where they don't have a message but trump's bringing them together for a midterm
00:16:21.840convention in dallas the beginning of september and what you're talking about where you know when
00:16:28.020you say oh you really got a month well you're right because in september and october a lot of
00:16:33.980states start voting early and and guess what the united states senate hasn't gotten around to
00:16:40.340passing the Save America Act, even though in this current poll, 84 percent of all voters support
00:16:47.300proof of citizenship to vote and 77 percent support photo ID in order to vote. So, you know,
00:16:55.640you've got people are going to start voting, you know, in September and October in different states,
00:17:00.800whatever their rules are, respectively. And by the time Election Day rolls around on November 3rd,
00:17:07.760A lot of votes are going to be cast, just like they were in the presidential race.
00:17:11.580Let's talk about the Save America Act, because you did some polling on that as well.
00:17:16.160And we'll have it up here on the screen.
00:17:18.200Fifty six percent of the people that you polled say which of the following statement do more closely align with.
00:17:25.840The United States Senate should continue to work to pass the bill before this year's election or the United States Senate should give up on passing this bill.
00:17:32.920Fifty six percent say they should work.
00:17:35.020So there's a problem. And I think the problem is, is John, not me, not you, but John Thune.
00:17:41.720And he's sort of got this FU attitude about him when it comes to President Trump.
00:17:46.580It seems to me he has no respect for President Trump or the office of presidency, going back and forth with Caroline Levitt, telling them they're the ones who are supposed to be lobbying.
00:17:54.860I mean, John, you've been in this business for a really long time.
00:17:57.740His job is essentially to be the greatest lobbyist of all time and the second greatest fundraiser of all time to Mike Johnson.
00:18:05.400That's why you're the majority leader. He's out here saying, well, you want the votes, you go get them.
00:18:10.160Why is President Trump putting up with him?
00:18:13.040Well, well, John, by the way, I've known John, but in 1996, John ran for Congress and we were losing the primary two to one.
00:18:20.360And we ended up winning it two to one because he stood against tax hikes.
00:18:58.520But but but to your point, that question is really important because the majority of Americans want them to continue to work to pass the Save America Act.
00:19:06.940And here you got 78 percent, 56 percent strongly agree that voters should be required to show photo ID when they cast a ballot.
00:19:18.080And it's a big number. It's not a little number. It's a big number.
00:19:22.060And last, well, back in May, we asked, should they pass the Save America Act or should they work to protect the filibuster?
00:19:34.580only 28 percent of all voters said protect the filibuster 56 percent said pass the save america
00:19:40.680act because they want fair elections you want election integrity americans know this there's
00:19:46.000there's things going on that enable fraud and it's it's basically you want to say it's legalized
00:19:52.500corruption but it's not really legalized it's allowed so in new york state when you when i go
00:19:57.800to vote if you bring out your voter id they'll tell you put it back and you don't have to show
00:20:02.740and you just have to sign on some electronic thing.
00:20:05.700Do you ever sign those credit card things electronically with an electronic pen?
00:22:34.960So that's changed, because no one was pushing before.
00:22:37.380Every state was allowed to do their own thing.
00:22:39.240And when Democrats took over a state, they basically would have quietly abolished voter
00:22:44.080ID, and they would change the laws to allow same-day registration, ballot harvesting.
00:22:50.940And, you know, I mean, Steve Hilton appears to be a great guy running for governor, but
00:22:56.700with that ballot harvesting law and same-day registration, I mean, they just, Spencer Pratt
00:23:02.280obviously had made the runoff to run against Karen Bass, who's extremely unpopular.
00:23:09.240But we had done some polling the week before for the California Post and Spencer, among Democrats, which are two thirds of L.A., Karen Bass was leading only 40 to 32 against Rahman.
00:23:22.440But every but the batches of ballots that came in after Election Day that were counted after Election Day in L.A., Rahman was leading Bass so that she could play second.
00:23:34.720They did not they did not want Spencer Pratt against Bass one on one because they were afraid they were afraid she could lose because she had a two thirds disapproval rating.
00:23:44.040And they so, you know, and the Republicans, they don't do an audit.
00:23:49.120It's really easy. All you got to do is you got to get some got to get some, you know, forensic analysts, maybe some private investigators do an audit of the ballots.
00:23:58.780Just a sample of the ballots who voted for Rahman that came in after election day.
00:24:04.080You get the copies of those, you know, get the ballots that came in.
00:24:08.000You won't know who voted for who, but you'll know, you know, I would know that if John Fawcett voted, his ballot was counted after Election Day.
00:24:17.160I won't know who you voted for, but I would know that you voted.
00:24:21.200So I could go back and check that you voted.
00:24:23.680So what governor, what mayor, what legislator, what judge, John, is going to allow that to happen in California?
00:26:25.260And in states like, you know, remember Georgia in 2022, they changed the election law.
00:26:32.840My client, the late David Ralston, who was the speaker at the time, pushed a bill through so that you have to have voter ID when you vote early by mail, when you vote early in person, when you vote on election day, or if you vote via Dropbox.
00:26:47.060And the drop boxes he put inside government buildings and spread around around the state so that they were not exposed to.
00:26:54.520And you can only cast a ballot for one person, just yourself, a ballot artist.
00:26:58.940So so the Zuckerberg drop boxes were eliminated and everybody had voter I.
00:27:04.500So in 2022, when Brian Kemp got reelected and the statewide ticket of Republicans got elected, except for Herschel Walker, he lost the Senate race.
00:27:16.720He lost a close Senate race. But nobody complained. It was an honest election because and people and Georgians had confidence in the electorate, even though Joe Biden had attacked them for being racist, supposedly Jim Crow laws or whatever.
00:27:30.280and he took away the major league baseball all-star game they forced it out on them and which hurt a
00:27:36.940lot of african-american businesses in atlanta uh because they would have been the beneficiary of
00:27:42.060that small businesses and uh uh we took it away but uh the great revenge was they they passed the
00:27:48.900law and it's still the law today and donald trump got elected again in georgia and that year the
00:27:54.340atlanta braves won the world series so so it was i think trump was there too he went to one of the
00:28:00.800games and uh yeah yeah he got a great reception yes yeah as he usually does with the exception of
00:28:07.220new york john before we wrap i know you're tight on time i want to get to two uh final things here
00:28:17.640i ran you did a great poll on it there's been a lot of disconnect on iran where do we go but
00:28:22.380But before we get to that, 44 percent of the people in your latest poll say the economy is the number one issue, followed by 29 percent at social issues of health care, Medicaid, followed by 16 percent of security, border security, national security.
00:28:38.200The Iran war only three or four percent said that's a top priority of them.
00:28:42.760So it seems the economy is still a big issue.
00:28:44.980what's the pitch? What's the elevator pitch to the voters who, you know, maybe say that President
00:28:52.560Trump and the Republicans came up a little bit short in the midterms? Well, the when you go back
00:28:57.920to how we worded that question, and we've been consistent with it for years, what's personally
00:29:02.880most important to you? And most Americans are still concerned about inflation and cost of living,
00:29:08.400etc and the economy large and jobs which is you know quite a i mean it's we're digging out of the
00:29:16.820hole from from joe biden but on the other hand they can pay attention to to to various issues
00:29:23.240in stereo so last month when we asked that question about you know if they supported trump's
00:29:29.340memorandum of understanding with the ceasefire with iran and and they did 51 34 but then the
00:29:37.140iranians didn't abide by it in the same poll we asked them parts about the memorandum of
00:29:42.160understanding did you did you approve or disapprove of stopping iran from getting nuclear weapons
00:29:47.980they absolutely approve 76 it's on the website and 75 uh approves of stopping iran from uh using
00:29:56.200terrorism to attack our allies and so that's really the goals and president trump has been
00:30:02.960consistent with that and he because he that's what he ran on in 2016 to stop iran from getting
00:30:08.120nuclear weapons that's what he did as president during his first term and when joe biden you know
00:30:14.080kind of let it slide again and iran was building nuclear weapons again last year when they were
00:30:20.560weeks away from having 11 nuclear weapons what you know they they uh he bombed the sites but then
00:30:27.720they started again so you you got you got we got a problem with these guys are chanting death to
00:30:33.460america every day for 47 years and god bless you know your point about that question is god bless
00:30:42.600our men and women in the military we have this all volunteer military and there's people out there
00:30:47.540been out there on ships for months some of them probably on these aircraft carriers not touch land
00:30:52.680for like a year or whatever um and i've got friends and family in the in the theater over
00:30:58.260there it's their choice that's what they decided to do and god bless them for doing that because

00:31:12.440june poll 61 said they would use it against the united states so the so no american likes to go

00:31:32.220has in a way contained china and and uh russia yeah um you know and trump did uh uh stop that

00:31:48.480weapons they'd use it and uh and and uh so so right now americans you know the most most americans
00:31:57.080are inconvenienced by a hike in gasoline crisis but in that same survey you're talking about0.98

00:32:12.460so it's not like we wanted to go where we wanted to do this but this country's been at war with

00:32:25.320who's running for congress in wisconsin seven uh kevin hermaning and kevin was a marine 20 year
00:32:30.860old marine embassy guard and he's held hostage for 444 days and if you personally talk to him
00:32:37.040for what they did who these people are um you know they they i i feel sorry for the president
00:32:44.260I talked to her and I said, you want to negotiate with them and you've got two types of people you're dealing with, the terrorists who are lying to you today and the ones who are going to lie to you in the future.
00:32:53.340They just don't – they don't have any track record of keeping any agreements with the United States.
00:32:59.040And the only thing they understand, unfortunately, is brute force.
00:33:02.940And, you know, I agree with most Americans that the sooner we finish the job, the better off we'll be.

00:34:33.000Now, you I want to ask this as a final question, because, you know, Donald Trump for a very long time, you know, Benjamin Netanyahu for a very long time.
00:34:38.640And the premise you hear and if you stay off of Twitter, you're a lot smarter person than the average person.
00:34:45.260But if you're on Twitter, the the the the consensus is, John, is Donald Trump ruined his legacy for the Jews.0.60

00:36:59.400Trump's base, when you look at if you could if you scroll up to that question about that, we've got to finish the job and the support, you know, opening up the Strait of Hormuz.

00:37:17.760like thomas massey who i did 11 polls in that race for the super PAC thomas massey was ahead
00:37:24.980in the first poll but he wouldn't vote for us on tax cuts he wouldn't vote for us on spending
00:37:29.200didn't vote for us on the wall he just got the president really upset because he was never with
00:37:34.240And then he comes out and he says it's because of whatever he voted for in Israel.
00:37:41.220But but it's like the base, the base is rock solid for Trump.
00:37:45.240The problem is we have to win the middle. We have to do better among independents.
00:37:50.020We have to do better among those one in 10 voters who are undecided for Congress.
00:37:53.880So just like the campaign, except the difference is Trump's not on the ballot.
00:37:58.460You've got all these Republicans who won't pass the Save America Act, who are done cutting taxes,
00:38:03.380who don't have a real good message other than the other guys are big government socialists.
00:38:08.460And by the way, when we frame the generic ballot question and we say you're more likely to vote for a Republican
00:38:14.920who favors free market capitalism or a Democrat who favors big government socialism, 49-36.
00:38:21.840So that two-point deficit becomes a 13-point edge.
00:38:26.660so it's really we've got to get back on offense go after the democrats because i mean the democrat
00:38:34.840socialist america want to change the constitution abolish the senate they really want to take away
