00:00:00.000 It's very easy to have thought that Our Lady was referring to heterodox cardinals like
00:00:05.140 Cupich or Gregory or McElroy or Tobin or Daniels or Hollerich, those who already rejected the
00:00:12.860 perennial teachings of Christ. We must separate ourselves from those who refuse to adhere to the
00:00:18.440 faith as St. Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 5, 12, and 13.
00:00:28.620 My friends, I have been thinking about a matter for quite some time, and it's quite disturbing.
00:00:36.100 It revolves around the prophecy of Our Lady of Akita, where she speaks about a time, and I'll
00:00:43.380 quote it for you. It says,
00:00:44.200 The work of the devil will infiltrate, even into the church, in such a way that one will
00:00:49.340 see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be
00:00:54.560 scorned and opposed by their confreres, end quote. I used to think we're there now. It's all about,
00:01:02.380 you know, good cardinals fighting bad cardinals and good bishops fighting the bad bishops because
00:01:08.040 there's so many bad bishops and bad cardinals. But then I came to the horrific understanding
00:01:17.300 that, no, she was likely referring to good cardinals fighting good cardinals and good bishops fighting
00:01:25.740 good bishops. That's what we're having today, and I'm going to unpack that for you on this episode
00:01:33.420 of the John Henry Weston Show. I hope you stay tuned. Even though it is a kind of very disturbing
00:01:42.700 reality, we got to remember Christ's in charge of his church. So we should praise him, even in the
00:01:50.640 midst of the very grave difficulties we find ourselves in right now. We got to praise him.
00:01:56.200 We got to thank him. We got to love him. We got to know he's in charge. He's called us to live in
00:02:01.000 these times. So we've got to grapple with what's before us, praising and thanking God anyway for
00:02:07.680 all the challenges. This is John Henry Weston Show. Stay tuned. Hey, my friends, now is the time to stand
00:02:15.160 up and fight. We are just about to have the Synod on Synodality, and everything that you've seen
00:02:22.500 indicates that it's going to be an absolute disaster. We have Father James Martin as a personal
00:02:28.840 appointee of the Pope speaking at it. We've got Cardinal Cupich, Cardinal Tobin. These picks of
00:02:36.060 the Pope to engage in this Synod are indicative of where we're going. We're going into heresy.
00:02:43.920 And at these times of great crisis, the church, especially those called in the laity to work for
00:02:51.580 the glory of Christ and his church, are called to gather and strategize. Back in 2014, LifeSite
00:02:58.920 launched something called Rome Life Forum. It was a gathering at that point of some 75 life and
00:03:05.560 family leaders from all around the world to strategize as to what we could do. And when we
00:03:10.240 gathered, the majority of people were most concerned about what? About Pope Francis, about what was going
00:03:16.660 on in Rome. But this was 2014, but the life and family leaders saw it first. Now, a decade on,
00:03:26.940 we are confronted with some of the most severe challenges the church has ever faced. And so,
00:03:32.620 our tradition at LifeSite is to continue with Rome Life Forum, which has continued every year
00:03:36.820 until we had to take a break over COVID because we weren't permitted. But we're starting it up again.
00:03:42.520 Please come, if you feel so called, to Rome, October 31st and November 1st, the very end of the Synod on
00:03:52.420 Synodality. And we'll be there to strategize with his eminence, with his excellency, and with many
00:03:59.740 life and family leaders from around the world. For LifeSite News, this is John Henry Weston.
00:04:04.880 And may God bless you.
00:04:05.600 Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
00:04:12.820 and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
00:04:16.600 So, since I've been working with several cardinals and bishops over the last number of years,
00:04:23.240 I've come to this very disturbing realization about that prophecy of Akita, about cardinals
00:04:29.860 against cardinals and bishops against bishops, that, as I said, I used to think it was about
00:04:35.280 good cardinals fighting the bad ones, and good bishops fighting the bad ones. But
00:04:39.100 it seems to be today to be more about good cardinals fighting good cardinals, good bishops
00:04:47.480 against good bishops. It's very easy to have thought that Our Lady was referring to heterodox
00:04:53.480 cardinals like Cupich, or Gregory, or McElroy, or Tobin, or Daniels, or Hollerich. Those who
00:05:00.600 already rejected the perennial teachings of Christ. And therefore, it would only be natural
00:05:06.660 for them to be opposed by faithful cardinals and bishops. In fact, it would seem to me,
00:05:12.160 anyway, as a father of eight children, that cardinals and bishops are duty-bound to denounce
00:05:17.860 the heresies of their fellow cardinals and bishops, because there's severe scandal that
00:05:23.720 results when such high-ranking churchmen spout heresy, as we're seeing from, you know, many of
00:05:31.620 those who I just mentioned with regard to the homosexual take, the blessing of homosexual unions.
00:05:39.000 Because the faithful can be misled into sin and into, therefore, eternal misery. So when cardinals,
00:05:47.200 Marx and Hollerich and de Kessel and others speak of blessing homosexual unions, it's a duty of
00:05:53.580 cardinals and bishops to denounce it, just like Bishop Joseph Strickland did, when in response to
00:05:59.620 Germany's Cardinal Reinhard Marx, who admitted that he blessed a homosexual union and went against the
00:06:05.380 church's teaching on the issue, Bishop Strickland tweeted out, and I'll quote for you, he said,
00:06:09.980 Cardinal Marx has left the Catholic faith. He needs to be honest and officially resign, end quote.
00:06:15.980 And that is what good bishops, good cardinals, need to do when their brother bishops and brother
00:06:23.180 cardinals go outside the faith, just like Cardinal Marx did there. But sadly, today,
00:06:32.340 we don't see very much of that correction going on at all. But what we do see is actually good bishops
00:06:39.800 and good cardinals opposing one another and even refusing to work with one another and lay groups,
00:06:46.600 even though they share the same faith, the faith of our fathers. And sadder still, some of the
00:06:54.120 decision-making seems to be somewhat political since these bishops and cardinals will still work
00:06:59.580 in certain capacities with other bishops and cardinals who have opposite views on much more
00:07:05.600 fundamental issues to the faith, where there is clearly no possibility of differing opinions.
00:07:11.780 So, let me give you some of the specifics. There are issues in the faith that are non-negotiable.
00:07:18.740 You can't be Catholic if you don't hold to those beliefs. They are expressed in the creed,
00:07:24.480 the dogmas of the church. Here are some of the areas where there is vehement disagreement
00:07:31.700 from very good cardinals and bishops. Issues which cause them to cancel one another in various
00:07:38.180 capacities, but yet are not dogmas of the faith, not essentials of the faith. And they're really
00:07:47.100 tough issues for sure. But listen to this. It's a very short list. One is the legitimacy of the SSPX.
00:07:55.380 This is Society of Pius X. The question is about the moral possibility of the faithful to attend the
00:08:02.800 masses of the society, to get their confessions heard by the society priests, have their marriages
00:08:07.440 at the society churches. Even though Pope Francis has given explicit permission for this, there are some
00:08:15.380 who remain steadfast in the belief that the SSPX is in schism and that it's a sin for the faithful to
00:08:22.100 attend their masses. But these are from very good cardinals and bishops. But there's cardinals and
00:08:27.660 bishops on either side. And they're opposed to one another over that, which again, is not an essential.
00:08:34.400 Then there's another issue that's also very contentious. It's the impossibility of taking
00:08:40.640 abortion-tainted COVID jabs. While some have suggested that taking the abortion-tainted COVID jabs
00:08:46.800 should be avoided at all costs, including resistance to the point of bloodshed and death,
00:08:52.280 others have said that for grave reason, they may be taken. And that was the official line of the
00:08:57.280 Vatican. Pope Francis, though, tried to suggest the other way, that they must be taken, but nonetheless.
00:09:03.300 But the third and perhaps most contentious issue is over the validity of the election of Pope Francis
00:09:09.340 or his papacy. Whereas some believe that the resignation of Benedict or the election of Francis
00:09:14.940 may have been invalid, others believe that Francis has abandoned his office due to heresy, and still
00:09:20.640 others believe that any such option is impossible. You know that here on LifeSite, we love to tell
00:09:28.620 amazing stories. There are a few so heroic and amazing as the story we're about to tell you that's
00:09:35.740 coming soon. You've got to watch this.
00:09:40.440 When I was in seminary, I was reading a book by Henry Nowen. He talked about a nuclear man,
00:09:46.560 you know, and people who grew up in the 1980s were kind of formed by that immediate and constant
00:09:52.600 threat of nuclear annihilation. My generation has grown up, you know, under the specter of priestly
00:10:01.640 sexual abuse. I think that for many of us, that has also been all-encompassing. You know, I mean, I
00:10:12.720 entered the seminary in January of 2004, and it's basically been there for me from in the beginning.
00:10:19.460 One priest's sacrifice for many priestly sins. The story of Father John Halliwell. Coming soon from
00:10:33.900 LifeSite News.
00:10:36.340 We have good, faithful cardinals and bishops and priests cancelling one another over matters like
00:10:42.840 these that are far less serious than the dogmas. Far less serious, in fact, than the heresies that
00:10:50.660 Pope Francis himself has issued. I know those matters that I mentioned are very, very serious. I know
00:10:57.000 that we're dealing with very, very confusing times. So, with Pope Francis being, at least for many people,
00:11:06.860 in obvious heresy. It is, as our Lord quoted in the prophecy of Zechariah, our Lord quoted Zechariah,
00:11:15.960 where it says, I will strike the shepherd and the flock will be scattered. It's like we're living back
00:11:21.080 in those times when St. Paul said in Corinthians, he wrote saying there were divisions in the church,
00:11:27.700 and he was saying some people say, oh, I'm a disciple of Paul, and others say I'm of Paulo,
00:11:32.340 and others say I'm of Cephas. Well, today we might hear similar things, like I am of Burke,
00:11:39.540 I am of Schneider, I am of Vigano, I am of Sarah. We're struggling to find a sure rock,
00:11:46.880 because it seems that the rock has been somehow shattered. It's the St. Peter was the rock on
00:11:52.400 which Christ built his church, and it seems that with Francis, the rock is like all mush and no rock
00:11:58.100 at all. The Pope is supposed to confirm the bishops and the faithful in the faith. He's to
00:12:04.960 be the symbol of unity for the faith, and yet Francis is undermining the faith and unity at nearly
00:12:12.000 every turn. So, if we look at that last issue, and maybe the most controversial one of the ones I
00:12:20.100 presented about the validity of the papacy of Pope Francis, or Jorge Mario Bergoglio, as some refer to him,
00:12:26.540 I think most people may know very little about the actual arguments that are, you know, available
00:12:34.900 here, but it's not actually easy. It's not easy to dismiss the arguments or to make them. The first of
00:12:42.180 the three main arguments suggesting that Pope Francis is not Pope is that the resignation of Benedict was
00:12:48.420 invalid. They say this because, you know, some say it's because pressure or whatever, but one of the
00:12:54.000 main ones is because the official text, the official Latin text of his resignation, which he read out on
00:13:01.120 the day of his resignation, he resigns the administrative duties of the papacy, but not the office of the
00:13:07.800 papal office itself. And that's tough. Who knows what to make of that? A lot of people have different
00:13:13.620 opinions on both sides. The second argument about the papacy of Francis is that the election of Pope
00:13:21.160 Francis was invalid because the rules of the papal election set out by John Paul II in Universi Dominici
00:13:27.220 Gregis, the constitution written by Pope John Paul on the election of the Pope were violated. There's
00:13:34.080 many reasons for that. There was election problems and so on. But one of the most serious charges
00:13:39.200 is about the scheming and conspiracy of the group of cardinals who dubbed themselves the St.
00:13:47.160 Gallon Mafia. And when the rules are not followed, Pope John Paul II's constitution on papal election
00:13:53.380 says this at paragraph 76, and I quote, should the election take place in a way other than that
00:13:59.160 prescribed in the present constitution, or should the condition laid down here not be observed,
00:14:03.580 the election is for this very reason null and void without any need for declaration on the matter.
00:14:08.240 Consequently, it confers no right on the one elected, end quote. And if those two aren't bad enough,
00:14:13.820 there is the possibility that Pope Francis has abandoned the papacy by his heresies.
00:14:19.400 And on this question, St. Robert Bellarmine and St. Alphonsus suggest that the popes abandon
00:14:27.580 the papacy when they commit heresy. And while there are other churchmen in the church who have said that,
00:14:34.600 there's others who've argued the other way. There was actually no firm teaching of the
00:14:38.780 Magisterium on the question. So it's sort of like left open. And so what do you do?
00:14:46.140 Times are really tough. Do you know there's even historical precedent for two canonized saints
00:14:52.140 being on opposite sides of saying who the real Pope is? It was back in the 14th century,
00:15:00.340 St. Vincent Ferre, a priest and miracle worker, backed two successive antipopes. That means claimants
00:15:08.360 to the throne of the papacy who weren't actually Pope, while St. Catherine of Siena, a lay woman,
00:15:14.180 backed the real Pope. What are we to do in these times when we have such strong opinions on either
00:15:20.620 side of such contentious issues by really, really good people, good cardinals, good bishops, good
00:15:27.340 priests? Issues where the church has not clearly pronounced the correct path, but you have these two
00:15:33.240 very different but very strong opinions. You know that the church has actually answered that question
00:15:39.960 for us. And guess what? It's not about cancelling or refusing to work with one another. Pope Benedict
00:15:48.560 XV wrote in an appeal to the bishops for peace. He said, and I quote,
00:15:55.780 As regards matters in which, without harm to faith or discipline, in the absence of any authoritative
00:16:02.900 intervention of the apostolic see, there is room for divergent opinions. It is clearly the right of
00:16:10.820 everyone to express and defend his own opinion, but in such discussions no expressions should be used
00:16:17.980 which might constitute serious breaches of charity. Let each one freely defend his own opinion,
00:16:23.520 but let it be done with due moderation, so that no one should consider himself entitled to a fix on
00:16:29.920 those who merely do not agree with his ideas, the stigma of disloyalty to faith or to discipline.
00:16:36.720 End quote. So obviously, when it comes to the non-negotiables of our faith, we must separate
00:16:43.560 ourselves from those who refuse to adhere to the faith as Saint Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 5,
00:16:49.640 12 and 13. But in this time of confusion, where it seems that the bark of Peter is sinking,
00:16:56.480 not so much from the waves from outside, but from treachery from within, let's not separate from those
00:17:03.160 with whom we have different opinions, but let us strive together to fight for the church that we all
00:17:08.880 love. Let's work together to save our children from confusion and scandal. Let's pray together that
00:17:14.540 this scourge of confusion around the papacy may come to an end, that the glory of Christ's mystical
00:17:20.520 body, the church may once again shine on earth and attract many to the saving grace of Christ's fold.
00:17:28.260 And most of all, let's continue to praise, to praise and give glory to God in heaven.
00:17:34.520 Remember, Christ's in charge. It is His church. He has told us, He's warned us Himself. If you go to
00:17:43.660 the Catechism number 675, you will see that we're going to come to a religious deception. And, you know,
00:17:53.220 ultimately that will be with Antichrist, but we're going to get to that. But even still, in the end,
00:17:59.660 Christ will triumph. He said that His Holy Mother's heart will triumph. In the end, the Immaculate
00:18:07.020 heart will triumph as well. And we're still waiting for that. So there's good, there's great yet to
00:18:11.920 come. And in fact, as bad as it gets, the worse it gets, the better it'll be on the other end.
00:18:17.480 Christ showed that. The worst possible thing happened. He came and had the crucifixion, but it
00:18:22.060 brought about the greatest glory of the resurrection and of our eternal salvation. So all this confusion,
00:18:29.140 scandal, and seemingly hell we're experiencing right now, it will redound to His glory, and it'll be
00:18:35.540 awesome. So take heart, have faith, and let's work together. Not condemning those with whom we disagree,
00:18:43.120 but working, striving together to reach the truth. For LifeSite News, this is John Henry Weston. May God bless you.
