The John-Henry Westen Show - America’s top 10 homosexuality-promoting Catholic bishops

00:00:00.660 It seems every day things just get crazier, even though just yesterday you said to yourself,

00:00:06.420 it can't get any more crazy than this.

00:00:08.900 We've just learned that the Pope is going to address one of the most radical pro-LGBT

00:00:13.600 leftist so-called Catholic conferences on the planet.

00:00:17.200 Joe Biden in a new interview is once again boasting of his Catholicism and believe it

00:00:21.980 or not, never missing a mass.

00:00:23.960 In happier news, at least one bishop has told off his government for daring to lock down

00:00:29.280 churches while leaving shopping centers and restaurants opened.

00:00:31.920 And finally, the leftist swing in the church has caused a number of usually closeted homosexuality 0.85

00:00:37.860 promoting bishops to out themselves publicly, and we have that list for you.

00:00:42.780 You're going to want to stay tuned.

00:00:59.280 Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross.

00:01:05.920 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

00:01:10.560 We've just learned that Pope Francis is to deliver an address at the opening ceremony

00:01:14.920 of one of the most scandalous yearly so-called Catholic events in the United States, 0.91

00:01:19.900 the LA Religious Education Congress.

00:01:21.780 This is the same event in Los Angeles faithful Catholics have been picketing for decades since

00:01:27.680 it scandalously promotes homosexuality and strange liturgical practices. 0.84

00:01:32.580 It's always headlined by the most dissenting priests and religious, and this year is no

00:01:38.140 exception.

00:01:39.040 The virtual four-day event, virtual of course because of coronavirus, which runs from February

00:01:44.800 18th to 21st, will include presentations from religious leaders such as Bishop Robert McElroy,

00:01:51.100 who we featured Wednesday, insisting that Joe Biden be given communion, remember?

00:01:56.400 Furthermore, many bishops are proposing that the conference take steps to publicly deprive

00:02:02.240 President Biden of his ability to receive the Eucharist.

00:02:06.440 In contrast to the direction advocated by this flock of bishops, we have a Pope who has placed

00:02:12.260 encounter, dialogue, honesty, and collaboration at the heart of his approach to public conversation,

00:02:18.500 and who is unlikely to endorse the deprivation of the Eucharist from the president.

00:02:24.800 And this conference, where Pope Francis will speak, is also featuring fellow Jesuit,

00:02:30.580 Father Gregory Boyle, who openly promotes homosexual marriage and women priests. 0.82

00:02:37.220 Watch for yourself.

00:02:38.040 Does God feel like that same-sex marriage could happen? 0.75

00:02:44.880 I don't think anybody who has a connection to God and God's understanding and depth of

00:02:50.200 compassion who's going to say no.

00:02:53.220 And this, you know, again, this is, you know, contrary to the party line, but again, this has

00:03:00.860 always happened in my experience, even with poor folks, uneducated folks, monolingual

00:03:05.200 folks, and you ask them, what's the church say?

00:03:08.680 And they're clear.

00:03:10.080 And what would God say?

00:03:12.160 And then they're equally clear, and it's the opposite thing.

00:03:14.540 Punto y aparte.

00:03:15.200 Yeah, and you just go, you know, God says I can't go to communion because I'm not married

00:03:20.100 in the church.

00:03:20.720 I mean, the church says that.

00:03:22.300 But what would God want?

00:03:23.560 Right.

00:03:23.860 Oh, God thinks I should go to communion.

00:03:25.560 Hello, what are we doing?

00:03:26.760 Come on.

00:03:27.080 You know, the Vatican just said that the ordination of women is a grave sin. 0.96

00:03:32.500 Have you ever met anybody who would think, who would agree with that?

00:03:35.440 I mean, my 85-year-old mother doesn't think that's true.

00:03:38.560 And a 15-year-old knucklehead gang member in my office is not going to think that's true.

00:03:43.580 And it's shameful to kind of say stuff like that because it's not honest.

00:03:47.920 Instead of saying, I'm frightened for the church to say, I'm frightened that women will be ordained. 0.99

00:03:53.480 That's honest.

00:03:54.200 Say that.

00:03:54.780 But don't say it's a grave sin because that's nonsense.

00:03:58.580 It is so sad that Pope Francis will be speaking at this virtual conference and thus giving

00:04:03.820 this heresy-promoting conference his blessing.

00:04:06.780 With all these things, we must continue to pray for Pope Francis' conversion.

00:04:12.420 If that's not bad enough, Pope Francis just appointed homosexuality-promoting Newark Cardinal 0.57

00:04:19.320 Joseph Tobin to oversee a very troubling situation where a Catholic bishop was undermined by the

00:04:26.760 Vatican under Pope Francis for standing up for Catholic values.

00:04:30.520 In June 2019, Indianapolis Bishop Charles Thompson cut ties with Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School

00:04:39.360 after administrators at the school refused to follow his directive not to renew the contract

00:04:44.840 of a male educator in a same-sex marriage.

00:04:48.040 When the school refused to follow the policy, the archbishop decreed that the school, and I

00:04:55.480 quote, can no longer use the name Catholic and will no longer be identified or recognized

00:05:00.860 as a Catholic institution by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

00:05:04.720 The Archdiocese, of course, which he heads.

00:05:06.620 But when the Jesuit school appealed to the Vatican, the Jesuit Pope, in what should have sent shockwaves

00:05:14.480 around the Catholic world, backed the school against the faithful archbishop.

00:05:19.800 Now, the school still identifies itself as a Catholic school.

00:05:25.820 Now, Pope Francis has called on Cardinal Tobin to arbitrate.

00:05:30.640 Remember Cardinal Tobin.

00:05:32.140 He was made Cardinal by Pope Francis in 2017 while serving then as Archbishop of Indianapolis.

00:05:38.540 Now, Tobin has a long history of backing the normalization of homosexuality within the Catholic Church.

00:05:45.000 So which way do you think Tobin is going to rule on this case?

00:05:49.760 Let me just say, if you are tired of the confusion and cowardice and craziness coming from leaders

00:05:56.160 in the Church, you don't want to miss LifeSite's latest interview with Father James Altman,

00:06:00.300 whose words of clarity are so desperately needed right now.

00:06:04.620 He sat down with LifeSite's Danielle Zuccaro recently to give his take on a number of controversial

00:06:09.480 topics, including whether the Church should permit Joe Biden to receive Holy Communion.

00:06:14.940 Have a quick peek at this, and be sure to check out the full interview at LifeSiteNews.com.

00:06:20.020 I hear in the news that certain shepherds think it's perfectly okay to commit sacrilege and give

00:06:28.440 that guy Holy Communion at sacrilege.

00:06:32.640 So if they're out there listening, don't even try to challenge me on it.

00:06:37.300 By the way, over 40 people have signed onto a LifeSite petition urging the U.S. bishops

00:06:44.000 to refuse Holy Communion to pro-abortion Biden.

00:06:46.680 Be sure to sign on yourself and share it too.

00:06:49.820 You'll find it at LifePetitions.com.

00:06:52.280 Beyond that, give your own bishop a call or letter or email, or better yet, meet with him

00:06:57.520 personally to ask him to take action on this scandal in the Church.

00:07:03.420 Biden's so-called Catholicism seems to be in the news every day.

00:07:07.960 The president, in his first White House interview, along with his wife, told People Magazine when

00:07:13.620 asked if prayer helps him in leadership, and I quote,

00:07:17.160 I don't want to proselytize.

00:07:18.640 My religion for me is a safe place.

00:07:21.560 I never miss Mass because I can be alone, he added.

00:07:25.760 So he also said, for me, prayer gives me hope and it centers me.

00:07:31.200 At least some U.S. bishops are not taking this ultimate confusion lying down.

00:07:36.500 Kansas City Archbishop Joseph Nauman told LifeSite News in an exclusive interview that the bishops

00:07:42.360 of the United States have an obligation to act when it comes to the country's president

00:07:47.800 identifying himself as a devout Catholic while working to expand abortion.

00:07:51.860 He said this, and I quote,

00:07:53.500 The fact that President Biden identifies himself as a devout Catholic while working to preserve

00:07:59.040 and expand legalized abortion, even using tax dollars to fund abortion, presents a unique

00:08:04.040 challenge to the bishops of the United States.

00:08:06.920 Nauman, by the way, who also acts as the chairman of the U.S. bishops conference,

00:08:11.260 Committee on Pro-Life Activities, he called on the bishops and the laity across the country

00:08:18.680 to pray and fast for Biden so that he will, that's Biden will, cease attempting to confuse

00:08:25.800 people about Catholic teaching by trampling on the sanctity of human life while presenting

00:08:30.760 himself as a devout Catholic.

00:08:32.920 That's a quote from Nauman.

00:08:34.520 So, when asked about how he deals with the problem of pro-abortion politicians who claim

00:08:40.720 to be Catholic presenting themselves for Holy Communion, Archbishop Nauman said when dialoguing

00:08:46.040 with them produces no fruit, he requests that they not present themselves to receive communion.

00:08:51.800 And I quote,

00:08:52.600 And there are other bishops, other courageous bishops willing to speak the truth to power.

00:09:15.640 Just this week, Peruvian Archbishop Javier del Rio Alba slammed his government for forcing

00:09:22.800 churches to shut down while shopping malls are allowed to stay open.

00:09:26.960 He said, and I quote,

00:09:28.340 They have ordered the total closure of temples and centers of worship in almost all of Peru,

00:09:33.720 while in the same places, banks, shopping centers, and even restaurants are allowed to operate

00:09:38.880 with a capacity that can reach up to 50 percent, end quote.

00:09:42.020 The Archbishop reiterated the importance of in-person attendance at the sacraments, saying

00:09:47.280 it is, quote,

00:09:48.720 Highly worrying that our leaders do not recognize this vital need of the majority of Peruvians

00:09:54.020 and even give it less importance than merely recreational encounters.

00:09:59.220 Remember, it is a universal principle that government cannot dictate religious practice.

00:10:04.480 Remember, too, that there was an open letter published in May 2020.

00:10:07.680 Catholic clergy, led by former Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano,

00:10:13.100 and three cardinals, Gerhard Müller, Joseph Zen, and Giannis Pouzatz,

00:10:17.300 reminded politicians around the world that, and I quote,

00:10:20.320 The state has no right to interfere for any reason whatsoever in the sovereignty of the church.

00:10:25.780 They added, and I quote again,

00:10:27.400 And finally, let me get to our tier list of anti-family bishops.

00:10:50.460 One of the best things about the papacy of Pope Francis has been the rediscovered honesty,

00:10:56.240 you might say, of some of the dissident bishops in the church.

00:10:59.560 Under the papacies of John Paul II or Benedict XVI, many prelates hid their heterodox views,

00:11:05.640 but under Pope Francis, they feel free to show their true colors, or one might say, come out of the closet.

00:11:11.480 This is a list of U.S. bishops only.

00:11:15.840 It's like a top 10 list, a tiered top 10 list, if you will, of the most anti-family bishops in America.

00:11:23.500 First off, Cardinal Blaise Cupich.

00:11:26.560 Cardinal Blaise Cupich has praised the pro-LGBT Father James Martin

00:11:30.820 and has removed a priest in his diocese from a parish in apparent retaliation

00:11:36.520 for his decision to burn a rainbow pride flag.

00:11:40.180 Previously, the pride flag, by the way, was previously used by the parish to promote the homosexual agenda.

00:11:49.700 When still an archbishop, I asked now Cardinal Cupich in a press scrum

00:11:55.680 if he believed that homosexual couples could receive Holy Communion,

00:11:59.020 and he replied in the affirmative.

00:12:01.740 There's also Cardinal Wilton Gregory, he of D.C.

00:12:07.180 Now, Cardinal Wilton Gregory has permitted the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception,

00:12:13.000 when he was back in Atlanta, to act as a center for LGBT events,

00:12:17.160 including LGBT potluck socials and participating in the city's pride parade.

00:12:22.060 He personally invited pro-gay Father James Martin to give a talk in his archdiocese

00:12:28.560 and has designated a pro-gay priest who heads a homosexual-affirming parish 0.96

00:12:33.360 as the spiritual director for victims of sexual abuse for the Atlanta archdiocese.

00:12:41.160 Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark is the third bishop on our list.

00:12:47.240 He has endorsed pro-LGBT celebrity priest, Fr. James Martin,

00:12:51.600 has called the church's teachings on homosexuality unfortunate and hurtful

00:12:57.480 and welcomed homosexuals to the Cathedral Basilica in Newark

00:13:01.560 as a part of an LGBT pilgrimage where Catholics married to same-sex spouses

00:13:08.120 were invited to participate in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

00:13:12.200 Unbelievable.

00:13:13.600 The next bishop on our list is Archbishop John C. Wester

00:13:17.100 of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

00:13:19.740 Archbishop Wester last year spoke at a conference on Catholic LGBT pastoral ministry,

00:13:27.360 which included dissident nun, Sister Janine Gramick, of New Ways Ministry,

00:13:33.440 a pro-LGBT group, by the way, that is condemned by the Vatican

00:13:36.600 and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

00:13:39.360 And the archbishop also expressed his appreciation for people in the LGBTQ ministry.

00:13:45.720 The next bishop on our list, Auxiliary Bishop John P. Dolan of the Diocese of San Diego, California.

00:13:53.580 Bishop Dolan, who has been a pastor of an extremely pro-LGBT Catholic parish

00:13:58.780 and has in the past, along with married homosexual partners,

00:14:03.640 celebrated a special mass for families of the LGBT community.

00:14:08.840 The next bishop is Bishop Robert McElroy of the Diocese of San Diego, California.

00:14:17.140 Bishop McElroy has declared that labeling homosexual acts as intrinsically disordered,

00:14:21.740 as the Catechism does, is, and I quote,

00:14:24.420 very destructive language that I think we should not use pastorally.

00:14:28.780 Bishop McElroy also was praising a parish that advertises masses with the LGBT rainbow flag

00:14:35.080 and has a young adult ministry led by an openly gay man.

00:14:39.780 The next bishop on our list, Bishop John Stowe of the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky.

00:14:45.080 Bishop John Stowe has promoted homosexuality in the church

00:14:48.080 and last year spoke at a conference on Catholic LGBTQ pastoral ministry

00:14:53.280 and previously at a radical pro-LGBT conference stating that

00:14:57.060 morality is about dignity, not rules,

00:14:59.900 even though the group organizing the conference has been condemned by the Vatican and U.S. bishops.

00:15:05.600 The next bishop on our list is Bishop Stephen Beigler of the Archdiocese of Cheyenne.

00:15:11.200 Bishop Beigler has, alongside a cardinal and 10 bishops,

00:15:15.260 teamed up with a pro-homosexual advocacy group to release their statement affirming youths

00:15:20.100 who identify as LGBT, stating,

00:15:22.980 God is on your side.

00:15:24.060 Moreover, he downplayed the fact that the majority of victims of clerical sexual crimes

00:15:29.580 against minors in the Catholic Church have been teenage boys.

00:15:33.560 The next bishop on our list is Bishop Edward Weisenberger of the Diocese of Tucson, Arizona.

00:15:40.360 Bishop Weisenberger has just signed a statement in partnership with that pro-homosexual advocacy group

00:15:49.880 in support of young people who identify as LGBT, telling them, again, as the last bishop did,

00:15:55.800 that God is on your side.

00:15:58.400 The next bishop on our list is Bishop Joseph Kopaz of the Diocese of Jackson, Mississippi.

00:16:05.140 Bishop Kopaz has, alongside the cardinal and many bishops,

00:16:10.300 signed on to that same statement affirming LGBT youth.

00:16:15.980 Also, he's suspected of covering up for fraudulent priests

00:16:20.320 and for punishing whistleblower priests.

00:16:25.640 The next bishop on our list is actually an honorable mention.

00:16:30.640 This would be a number 11, but it's Cardinal Kevin Farrell.

00:16:35.160 Cardinal Farrell, who was a U.S. bishop for 30 years,

00:16:37.860 he deserves an honorary mention on our list

00:16:40.040 because even though he was moved to the Vatican in 2016 by Pope Francis

00:16:44.660 and made a cardinal, he was one of the few high-ranking prelates

00:16:48.800 who publicly praised Fr. James Martin's book.

00:16:53.340 So, knowing this list is actually good news.

00:16:57.340 We can avoid these bishops.

00:16:58.740 We can guard our children and our family and friends from their false teaching.

00:17:02.200 But most importantly, we can pray for their conversion.

00:17:05.620 Remember, these men are very much like Joe Biden

00:17:09.180 and perhaps some of your own friends and family.

00:17:11.080 They're all very probably nice, likable people.

00:17:14.440 They all believe they're practicing Catholics.

00:17:16.960 They just believe something very different

00:17:19.080 from what the Church has always taught about homosexuality. 0.95

00:17:23.380 Homosexuality is an intrinsically disordered sexual drive. 1.00

00:17:27.000 Just like the temptation to any sin, 0.96

00:17:29.180 these drives are to be fought against

00:17:31.120 and giving into them brings us to sin.

00:17:33.960 The inclination or temptation is not a sin in itself.

00:17:36.780 When we give in to the temptation, which is when we sin,

00:17:42.760 it can deprive us of eternal life.

00:17:45.540 Just like it is a sin for a married man to give in to temptations, 0.99

00:17:48.920 to be intimate with a woman who is not his wife,

00:17:50.860 or even as our Lord himself said,

00:17:52.600 to look at another woman with lust,

00:17:54.920 so too these men and women

00:17:56.740 who give in to the temptations of lustful desires

00:17:59.920 towards people of the same sex 0.93

00:18:01.280 are harming themselves and those they involve in these behaviors.

00:18:06.740 The Church's stance on this issue is one of love.

00:18:10.300 Love for God first and love for neighbor and self.

00:18:13.320 It's not love to offend God,

00:18:15.080 nor to harm your neighbor or yourself.

00:18:17.780 Same-sex sexual behavior harms the body, mind, and soul. 1.00

00:18:21.260 To really show love,

00:18:22.540 to really care for those with same-sex attractions

00:18:25.300 is to tell them with kindness and honesty

00:18:28.320 that giving in to such temptations are deadly,

00:18:31.360 and with God's grace,

00:18:32.780 those temptations can be overcome.

00:18:35.100 It is a struggle, for sure,

00:18:36.800 just like it's a struggle to remain pure in this world

00:18:39.100 steeped in sexual temptation.

00:18:41.120 Remember, Our Lady warned in 1917

00:18:43.020 that more souls go to hell for sins of the flesh

00:18:45.700 than for any other reason.

00:18:47.340 She also gave us the remedy.

00:18:49.380 So let us pray for these bishops.

00:18:51.160 Let us offer up our prayers, sacrifices, and sufferings

00:18:54.260 in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass

00:18:56.200 for their conversion

00:18:56.980 and for our own purity of heart, mind, and soul.

00:18:59.740 Let us remember to make the first five Saturdays devotion

00:19:02.900 as Our Lady asked us to do.

00:19:04.900 And by promoting true devotion to Our Lady in this world,

00:19:08.420 her immaculate heart will triumph

00:19:09.960 as she brings once again Jesus Christ

00:19:12.520 to a fallen world and into the stables of our hearts.

00:19:16.580 For LifeSite News, this is John Henry Weston.

00:19:18.980 And may God bless you.

00:19:21.440 Hi, this is John Henry Weston,

00:19:22.920 the co-founder and editor-in-chief of LifeSite News.

00:19:25.900 I'm coming to you today because we want to be sure

00:19:29.500 that we are communicating clearly with you,

00:19:32.200 our loyal followers.

00:19:33.620 Things are really heating up, as I'm sure you can see.

00:19:37.340 Christians, conservative truth-tellers are being targeted, 0.94

00:19:41.440 are being banned from social media platforms

00:19:43.620 like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram

00:19:46.300 at an alarmingly fast rate.

00:19:49.600 They are attempting to suppress any narrative

00:19:52.060 that does not fit that of the mainstream media.

00:19:55.040 We knew this day would come.

00:19:57.540 We have been warning everyone who would listen

00:19:59.940 and attempting to build up alternative platforms

00:20:02.920 to continue to reach you.

00:20:05.540 We have established ourselves on all sorts of platforms

00:20:08.380 I'm going to explain in a minute,

00:20:09.540 but the most important thing to do is come direct

00:20:12.120 to LifeSiteNews.com

00:20:14.300 because there we will always be.

00:20:17.180 But we've also established ourselves on platforms

00:20:24.600 We would love to see each of you on those platforms too,

00:20:28.140 as they are not censoring or suppressing the truth

00:20:30.880 that we are sharing every single day.

00:20:33.060 More than these alternative social media platforms,

00:20:36.700 we highly encourage you to subscribe to our email newsletter.

00:20:40.580 We have really built up a large list of loyal readers

00:20:44.020 on our email marketing platform,

00:20:52.620 we are removed from our current platform as well.

00:20:55.320 Additionally, I really encourage you,

00:20:58.500 as I said before, to make it a regular habit

00:21:00.960 to go directly to LifeSiteNews.com.

00:21:05.780 While all of these different platforms

00:21:07.800 are an excellent way to curate your news,

00:21:10.800 going directly to our website means

00:21:12.840 that you will never encounter any censorship

00:21:15.200 or sudden loss of LifeSite News reporting.

00:21:18.240 Here's the thing.

00:21:19.660 We will never stop sharing the truth.

00:21:23.060 We founded this organization

00:21:24.500 with the mission to be the life, family, and culture source

00:21:28.220 for men and women who seek to know the truth.

00:21:31.680 We have established a track record of honest reports,

00:21:35.200 and this will never stop,

00:21:37.040 even with censorship happening around the globe.

00:21:41.060 Again, I'm encouraging you to join us

00:21:44.000 on Parler, MeWe, Rumble, and on our email list.
