Brave Priest Exposes Heretical "Shadow Church," Ready to Die

Summary

There are all sorts of priests who see the scandals happening in the church and in the world, and yet they say nothing or next to nothing. Sure, there are some very real reasons why they keep silent. But speaking up can have real consequences for priests. The newly formed Society for Canceled Priests actually shows us that the growing trend of priests being suppressed, suspended, or even excommunicated is no longer a rare phenomenon.

00:00:00.000 But stillborns are useless for this kind of experimentation.
00:00:04.000 They need live babies.
00:00:05.280 And many of them admit the babies are live, as you said.
00:00:08.620 And you said vivisection.
00:00:10.180 They're harvested alive.
00:00:11.400 And they can't be given anesthetic because it spoils the cells and the tissues.
00:00:16.400 And they want it unspoiled.
00:00:17.980 And we have depositions from doctors who have done these kinds of vivisections telling us what they did.
00:00:24.500 It's horrific stuff.
00:00:25.560 Believe it or not, there are all sorts of priests who actually see the scandals happening in the church and in the world.
00:00:33.280 And yet they say nothing or next to nothing.
00:00:36.900 But you know, there's some very real reasons why they keep silent.
00:00:41.660 Sure, that silent harms the faithful.
00:00:44.100 But speaking up can have real consequences for priests.
00:00:47.380 The newly formed Society for Canceled Priests actually shows us that the growing trend of priests being suppressed or suspended or even excommunicated is no longer a rare phenomenon.
00:01:01.480 More and more priests are suspended, some for celebrating the traditional Latin Mass, some for the Novus Ordo Mass in Latin, doing Orthodox things, others for refusing the COVID jab, still others for standing against abortion, homosexuality, and contraception.
00:01:18.060 We are seeing this all over the world.
00:01:20.480 So back in November of 2021, Archbishop Mark Coleridge of the Archdiocese of Brisbane in Australia, he announced that any clergy in the Archdiocese of Brisbane who would not take the abortion-tated COVID jab would be removed from pastoral duties and suffer suspension of faculties.
00:01:39.600 So he also made a point of saying that any conscience-based objections to receiving the jab would not be considered valid, nor would they receive exemptions based on those concerns.
00:01:52.360 Just a month later, in December of 2021, Fr. Tony del Ciancio, a priest in the Diocese of London, Ontario, was suspended, and his parishioners learned about it in the Weekly Parish Bulletin at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Windsor, Ontario.
00:02:08.740 Fr. John Comiskey, the Diocese's moderator for the Curia, wrote, and I quote,
00:02:13.560 Fr. Tony has been given a leave of absence for failure to produce proof of vaccination, as outlined in the Diocesan COVID-19 vaccination policy.
00:02:23.320 So this policy was mandated in October by Bishop Ronald Fabro of the Diocese of London and Ontario.
00:02:30.120 So for the crime of keeping his medical information private, Fr. Tony del Ciancio was suspended.
00:02:36.760 The same thing happened in January of 2022, when Fr. Peter Williams, long-time pastor of Holy Family Parish in the Diocese of Burlington, Vermont, spoke out in a video because his bishop, Bishop Christopher Coyne, was trying to do the same thing to him.
00:02:53.360 Take a look.
00:02:53.960 And being one who is in support of freedom and personal rights, I balk at any incursion into my rights as a human being, certainly a U.S. citizen.
00:03:13.260 And that was my objection when the bishop started directing matters of my health.
00:03:22.960 In his original message, he said, and I quote,
00:03:25.860 I'm just saying that before we rush to accept all of these things, we should be asking ourselves individually, are they moral?
00:03:33.020 And do they pass the test for me individually?
00:03:35.700 He also added, and I quote again,
00:03:38.880 And so that when I stand before God, that I haven't violated my conscience, that I have been informed about what went into the production, the testing, the development, all that kind of thing.
00:03:51.060 Fr. Williams took a stand against the vaccine mandate and against the abortions that made these jabs possible, on his parishioner's behalf even, to stand up for them.
00:04:02.040 Fr. Williams went so far as to battle the Diocese of Burlington on the legal front.
00:04:08.320 He hired a canon lawyer in the U.S. to mediate his interactions with Bishop Coyne.
00:04:13.240 Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, retweeted Fr. Williams' video with these words of encouragement.
00:04:19.520 I quote from Bishop Strickland,
00:04:20.680 Unfortunately, Fr. Williams was removed from his parish despite his valiant effort.
00:04:42.220 He posted a video update in June of 2022.
00:04:46.260 Have a look.
00:04:46.700 Good morning.
00:04:50.400 This is Fr. Peter Williams, coming to you from near Roanoke, Virginia, on the second day of my three-day travels to Naples, Florida.
00:05:02.340 I'm driving a 25-foot U-Haul truck with all of my possessions behind me because I've been asked to leave Springfield, Vermont.
00:05:22.600 And the truck was packed and provided for by my wonderful parishioners at Holy Family Carriage.

00:07:03.760 And it's not just about the vaccine.
00:07:08.140 Several priests have been suspended for celebrating the Mass in Latin, even if they're only Novus Ordo Masses.
00:07:14.560 It was in August of 2021, Fr. Sixto Eduardo Varela Santa Maria, a priest in the Diocese of Alahuela, Costa Rica,
00:07:25.140 was suspended by the Bishop of the Diocese, Bishop Bartolome Buíges Oler,
00:07:30.520 for offering the Novus Ordo Mass in traditional, and by the way, still official, the tongue of the Church, Latin, and facing the Tabernacle.
00:07:40.380 Fr. Luis Hernández Solis, the Diocesan Communications Director, wrote a letter that explained that Varela had already been warned by the Bishop
00:07:48.800 against celebrating the Novus Ordo Mass in Latin, and that the priest had previously celebrated the traditional Latin Mass,
00:07:57.060 and Bishop Buíges asked him not to.
00:08:00.640 But he continued to celebrate the traditional Latin Mass after the publication of the Pope's Moda Proprio Traditionis Custodis.
00:08:10.200 It was explained that the punishments on the priest, such as being removed from his parish, get this,
00:08:15.180 so it's not only removed from the parish, it's also enrolled in a psychological treatment center.
00:08:20.520 And they say, those are expected to be measures that will restore the ecclesial communion and the priest's well-being.
00:08:30.880 Yeah, so you've got to be insane and sent off to an asylum to not do what the Church says you should do.
00:08:39.820 It's kind of mind-blowing.
00:08:41.160 But anyway, the priest, obviously, Fr. Varela, has been treated unjustly.
00:08:46.960 It's even in canon law. Canon 928 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law states the Eucharistic celebration is to be carried out in the Latin language
00:08:56.000 or in another language, provided that the liturgical texts have been legitimately approved.
00:09:01.380 In other words, Fr. Varela was acting within the bounds of the law when celebrating the Novus Ordo Mass in Latin.
00:09:08.860 Later, in July of 2022, Fr. Jesus Mary Missigbeto, and that's a pen name for Abbe Jean-Vier Benu,
00:09:17.840 he was canceled from Opus Dei, and he's from the Ivory Coast in Africa.
00:09:22.580 He wrote four open letters to Pope Francis, after which the Pope confirmed the sanctions imposed on him by Opus Dei.
00:09:29.980 Because he called out the Pope with love and charity, but he called out the Pope.
00:09:34.260 He said in his letter,
00:09:35.140 Indeed, before being Pope and Bishop, you are a priest, and according to the Code of Canon Law,
00:09:51.900 in leading their lives, clerics are bound in a special way to pursue holiness,
00:09:57.000 since, having been consecrated to God by a new title in the reception of orders,
00:10:01.960 they are dispensers of the mysteries of God in the service of his people.
00:10:07.060 When Fr. Jesus Mary joined me on my show, he was very clear about why he did this.
00:10:13.260 Have a listen for yourself.
00:10:14.100 The Vatican has to speak clearly and follow the traditional path of the church,
00:10:25.280 not go out, because the tradition is the preservation of the truth,
00:10:32.020 and it's the way, the most sure way to go to heaven.
00:10:38.360 So, this is my motivation, to help Pope Francis understand that it's better to follow the path of
00:10:48.940 Saint John Paul II and Pope Benedict, and all the Saint Pops we have.
00:10:56.840 There are many, there are so many.
00:10:58.320 So, Pope Francis has to follow the path of these Holy Pops.
00:11:05.200 So, Fr. Jesus Mary was suspended, not only because he celebrated the Latin Mass,
00:11:12.100 but also because he stood against the Pope's support of gay marriage, or gay unions, or whatever.
00:11:18.700 He said,
00:11:19.180 So, this reminds me of another priest, 85-year-old Fr. Donat Gionet, for speaking out against homosexuality and abortion.
00:11:47.640 It happened in the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst, New Brunswick.
00:11:52.200 The Vicar General of the Diocese actually told Radio Canada at the time that Fr. Gionet's comments were consistent with church teaching,
00:12:00.480 but lacked the proper pastoral sensitivity.
00:12:03.860 Fr. Gionet had been accused by parishioners of homophobia,
00:12:07.680 and in the media, after he criticized a homosexual parade in Moncton.
00:12:14.740 And it was from a homily he did in the summertime.
00:12:17.940 So, the mayor of St. Leolin, Joseph Lantin was his name.
00:12:23.580 He was an open homosexual, and he was a member of the parish council.
00:12:27.140 Surprise, surprise.
00:12:28.060 He demanded that the priest be suspended.
00:12:30.100 And then, in an open letter, Fr. Gionet said that the diocese didn't give him an opportunity to explain himself before suspending him.
00:12:38.900 He wrote, and I quote,
00:12:40.340 To you, the diocesan authorities, did you ask me what I said exactly during the homily in question?
00:12:46.680 They did not.
00:12:47.920 But only listen to people who are frustrated.
00:12:51.600 End quote.
00:12:52.160 That was back in 2011.
00:12:54.300 It has now become so much worse.
00:12:56.740 Our very own Fr. James Altman from Faith and Reason, a priest formerly at the parish of St. James the Less,
00:13:04.280 experienced this same thing in July of 2021.
00:13:07.640 Here's a clip of his first reaction to his bishop, Bishop William Patrick Callahan from the Diocese of La Crosse,
00:13:14.840 removing his faculties by way of a FedEx letter.
00:13:18.400 Have a listen.
00:13:20.800 There was a letter after Mass this morning.
00:13:22.900 I didn't know this.
00:13:25.240 Somebody was sitting in back and saw that there was a newspaper reporter there.
00:13:28.760 And I've since come to find out that this was discussed last night, the final conclusions, which were reached but were not presented to me.
00:13:35.980 Obviously, this has been prepared for months by several different people whose input is in the document.
00:13:41.780 You can see it.
00:13:43.680 And so, but it came as a surprise to me.
00:13:46.800 I thought if they were going to do something, it would be probably the end of the latter part of June, because the normal day for changing pastors is July 1st.
00:13:56.260 And yet it came today, as I said, by FedEx.
00:13:59.540 And on it, it says effective immediately.
00:14:02.740 So upon receipt, I guess.
00:14:04.360 Well, thank God I was here to even look at it.
00:14:06.440 You know, it came after Mass today.
00:14:09.500 And then all of a sudden, the news spread very, very quickly, as you know.
00:14:12.900 So, Father Altman said a FedEx in the mail is pretty minor, but that he does have a real concern.
00:14:21.900 Listen to this.
00:14:24.700 You know what concerns me?
00:14:25.800 I don't care what they do to me.
00:14:27.060 Honestly, I don't care.
00:14:28.740 You know, if I get martyred in the end, well, so be it.
00:14:31.060 Like I always joke, it might be the only way I get to heaven.
00:14:33.120 What troubles me is the interference with the feeding of God's children, which is through word and through the sacrament, both of which were denied to people over the past 15 months.
00:14:49.000 And as I said, they haven't come forward yet and apologized for denying.
00:14:53.080 They have one job to do.
00:14:54.200 You've heard me say this.
00:14:55.120 This is not rocket science.
00:14:57.520 They have one job to do, which is to feed the people and take care of their eternal souls, not worry about whether you or me, you or I get a cough and something that 99.95% or something of people under the age of 70 recover very nicely.
00:15:12.260 Father John Lovell, who is the co-founder of the Coalition for Cancelled Priests, talked about why priests are removed from their positions.
00:15:20.060 And he says it's because they are, quote, too conservative.
00:15:25.300 He talks about his own suppression on another episode of my show.
00:15:30.340 Have a look.
00:15:32.460 At about six weeks after he was made bishop, he removed me from ministry.
00:15:37.920 He tried to suspend me.
00:15:40.040 Rome overturned that immediately.
00:15:42.160 And then he basically withdrew his original decree.
00:15:45.340 And the very next day issued a new decree restricting my ministry in a non-penal, non-judicial way.
00:15:52.680 And when you discover what that means, John Henry, let my canon lawyers know.
00:15:56.900 And so for the last 10 years, we've been fighting both on the local level but also in Rome to restore my good name.
00:16:03.360 Because as you well know, diocesan priests especially are very public figures.
00:16:07.720 And so when we get removed, a lot of times people think, well, there must have been a reason for that.
00:16:12.780 And I can tell you right now in the Diocese of Rockford, Bishop Malloy has removed over 12 priests that have no accusation, no allegation against us.
00:16:22.380 And he just simply removed us because we're not yes men or we're too orthodox or too conservative.
00:16:30.060 So clearly this has been going on for quite some time.
00:16:34.380 And what do we do about it?
00:16:36.500 We can't roll over and give up on Catholic doctrine.
00:16:39.300 Well, today, our guest on the show is a priest who speaks the truth in season and out of season.
00:16:47.240 He gained attention in October with a homily that went viral.
00:16:51.620 Father Leon Pereira is a Dominican from England and chaplain to the English-speaking pilgrims in Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
00:16:58.460 He has made a point of clearly calling out the evil infiltrating the church and the faithful, but in a tactful and even humorous way.
00:17:07.440 Take a look at this clip.
00:17:09.300 Heresy does not breed a new generation because heresy is contraceptive and sterilized.
00:17:18.420 Therefore, it seeks to propagate itself by commandeering and imposing itself on others, like a virus.
00:17:26.860 We see much of this in the pre-Synodal reports of certain countries.
00:17:31.540 They clamor for changes to doctrines and morals.
00:17:35.880 They claim holiness is an ideal rather than a goal.
00:17:40.200 They seek to accompany, by which they mean keeping people exactly where they are.
00:17:46.240 What is sinful is no longer called sin.
00:17:48.920 We are reassured that hell is not eternal or that it is empty.
00:17:53.640 Holiness is not sought.
00:17:54.860 We are told we are fine as we are, so the truth comes out.
00:17:59.040 We keep being told all are welcome, except, of course, when you're not.
00:18:03.720 We are told the church must listen, but we don't want to listen to you.
00:18:08.020 And we all see how true this is, especially over the past few years.
00:18:15.760 Father Pereira makes an excellent point about heresy today.
00:18:19.880 Have a listen.
00:18:20.420 You see, the heretics of old at least had some courage.
00:18:26.300 They were open about what they were denying.
00:18:29.120 The modern heretics are more subtle.
00:18:31.940 They will say, oh, yes, we agree with St. John Paul II.
00:18:34.720 We reaffirm church teaching.
00:18:36.960 And then in the next instant, they proceed to deny it in their actions.
00:18:41.960 And they blame the Holy Spirit for all their errors.
00:18:45.700 We are a listening church, and we must keep walking forwards.
00:18:49.140 Yes, listening to whom?
00:18:51.920 And where are you walking to?
00:18:55.720 Why would Father Pereira dare to speak the truth,
00:18:59.840 even in the face of cancel culture running rampant in the church?
00:19:04.420 Well, because he's ready for martyrdom.
00:19:07.800 In another homily he gave in November, Father talked about martyrdom.
00:19:11.600 Have a listen.
00:19:12.460 Martyrdom is not about dying.
00:19:14.760 Martyrdom is about being faithful to Christ, no matter what.
00:19:17.880 There it is.
00:19:19.140 There is our answer for moving forward as we discern what to say and when to say it in this cancel culture
00:19:26.340 that is really starving for truth, but is also ready to persecute those who do tell the truth.
00:19:34.260 Up next, Father Leon Pereira himself.
00:19:37.140 This is The John Henry Weston Show.
00:19:38.640 Stay tuned.
00:19:39.040 Father Leon Pereira, thank you for joining us.
00:19:48.480 Thank you, John Henry.
00:19:49.480 It's good to be here.
00:19:50.720 Father, we always begin with the sign of the cross, if you wouldn't mind leading it for us.
00:19:54.080 Of course.
00:19:55.040 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:19:58.160 Amen.
00:19:58.480 Amen.
00:19:58.960 Amen.
00:20:00.000 Well, I think, Father, many, many hundreds of thousands of people watched your homily there
00:20:06.580 from Medjugorje, from the church there, and were just so delighted.
00:20:12.620 Finally, someone is saying what's on our hearts.
00:20:15.460 Someone is saying out loud.
00:20:16.840 Because I think often Catholics in the pews think, we're going crazy.
00:20:22.560 We're seeing this stuff.
00:20:24.780 Nobody else is seeing it.
00:20:26.700 And the priests aren't saying it from the pulpit.
00:20:29.900 So are we losing our minds?
00:20:31.780 So when someone speaks the truth, as you did, it's consoling in a way.
00:20:38.960 It's enlivening.
00:20:40.800 Enlivening, of course.
00:20:41.760 We're all, you know, blessed by it.
00:20:43.500 But it's also consoling in that we're not crazy.
00:20:46.980 We haven't lost our minds.
00:20:48.980 What gave you the courage to do that?
00:20:50.660 I know there's a lot of priests who probably see it, believe it, want to say it, are too
00:20:55.740 scared to do it.
00:20:56.560 First of all, I'd have to say Our Lady.
00:20:58.040 But secondly, and maybe this is my own naivety, I didn't really see anything extraordinary
00:21:02.740 in that homily.
00:21:04.540 I couldn't understand why people made a fuss over it.
00:21:08.120 I thought, I'm just saying what's what.
00:21:09.560 But the sort of background behind all this is about a year ago, just over a year ago,
00:21:15.700 my father passed away and I went back to Singapore to his funeral.
00:21:21.700 And the restrictions in Singapore meant I was locked up in a hotel for 10 days in a room
00:21:28.060 with no windows.
00:21:29.920 And so I celebrate a mass every day and, you know, I said my prayers.
00:21:36.080 I made sure I didn't watch TV because I thought if I go down that route, it would end in a
00:21:41.300 disaster.
00:21:42.560 But one thing I did allow myself was to play a word game, Wordle.
00:21:47.060 I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but I thought I'd allow myself one game a day.
00:21:51.440 And what happened is that I became obsessed with my score and I started to cheat at Wordle.
00:21:59.600 OK, there are different ways of cheating, just so that I'd always solve it every day
00:22:06.320 and not have a negative score, not break my duck, as we'd say in England.
00:22:10.380 And it was after a while, I just thought, hang on, this is no fun anymore if I'm cheating.
00:22:15.900 OK, and I was thinking about how these days everyone has to win, you know, sports day in
00:22:23.420 schools, everyone is given an award or a sticker.
00:22:28.180 Now, kids are not dumb.
00:22:30.500 They know that if everyone is a winner, it also means everyone is a loser, you know, and
00:22:34.740 that all of this is meaningless.
00:22:37.380 It reminds me of the early 90s when I was at university and our prime minister, John Major,
00:22:42.720 went around declaring all sorts of institutions to be universities.
00:22:46.880 And this was made fun of, you know, if everything becomes equalized, made easy like this, it
00:22:54.960 means it's not really of any value at all.
00:22:58.100 So that's where the idea came from.
00:23:00.240 So I was thinking about the prodigal son, you know, in his, in the pigsty, looking at
00:23:05.820 the acorns or whatever it is, hungering after the husks that the pigs were eating.
00:23:11.100 And I thought, how would he feel if someone came in and told him, hang on, this is great.
00:23:17.740 Those aren't husks.
00:23:19.240 You know, that's like, I don't know, pate, foie gras or something and steak, you know,
00:23:24.780 and that's not swill water, you know, it's red wine.
00:23:28.460 And this is not a pigsty.
00:23:29.940 It's a beautiful palace.
00:23:31.340 You don't have to go anywhere.
00:23:33.360 Stay here.
00:23:34.140 And I thought, this is actually what's going on.
00:23:35.960 So when we start telling people that they're okay in their sins, then we're telling them,
00:23:44.600 you don't have to go back to the father's house.
00:23:46.980 We pretend that they are already in the father's house.
00:23:49.900 And, but deep down, they know this is a joke.
00:23:52.280 They know it's a lie and, and they feel it.
00:23:56.320 There was some program made by, I'm not sure if I should mention names, but a certain priest
00:24:03.520 of a certain society who is trying in his way to love people in the LGBTQ community.
00:24:11.580 We're fully okay with mentioning Father Martin, but you go ahead, Father.
00:24:14.920 Okay.
00:24:15.540 Oh, well, I didn't want to embarrass him.
00:24:16.920 Okay.
00:24:17.120 Well, Father Martin, Father James Martin.
00:24:18.860 I watched most of that video and the whole thing seemed to be like showing everyone how
00:24:24.500 kind and wonderful Father Martin is.
00:24:26.120 And I'm sure he is.
00:24:26.920 And there was a young man there who said, who had his doubts, not about Father Martin.
00:24:33.680 He just said, I feel welcome and loved, but I forget his exact words, but he said, I wonder
00:24:40.120 if it's just Jim, as he called Father Martin, you know, Jim, you know, whether he actually
00:24:45.400 belonged to the Catholic church or to the church of Jim.
00:24:48.540 And there, I think that young man had an inkling of what was really going on.
00:24:52.760 You know, when we, if we water down the truth, if we tell people their sins, actually their
00:24:56.800 virtues and all that, what church do they belong to?
00:25:00.440 Do they belong to Jesus Christ or do they belong to the church of me?
00:25:04.380 And I think in the end, yeah, they belong to the church of me.
00:25:06.920 And that's, that's kind of pointless.
00:25:08.820 I didn't shed my blood for anyone.
00:25:10.600 I can't save anyone.
00:25:11.900 I didn't rise again from the dead for anyone.
00:25:14.940 I'm not a savior.
00:25:15.800 So it's, it would be useless if they felt they belong to Jesus somehow through me in
00:25:24.760 this ridiculous way, through a way, which is actually a lie rather than the truth.
00:25:30.020 So that was the inspiration behind the homily.
00:25:33.600 I don't mean Father Martin, but just Wordle, me cheating at Wordle was the inspiration.
00:25:39.560 Well, on behalf of a lot of people, Father, thank you for that, because it was, it was
00:25:45.060 a breath of fresh air amid so much stifle, stifling air.
00:25:50.320 It was ridiculous.
00:25:51.480 So that was a very good day.
00:25:53.620 I remember watching that homily, just stunned.
00:25:56.160 I honestly think every priest should be able to say that every priest there's, I don't think
00:26:00.980 there's anything extraordinary in what I said.
00:26:03.380 And if it's extraordinary, it means something terrible has come over us all.
00:26:07.320 And that, that is where we are.
00:26:10.080 The, the cancel culture coming for priests is very real.
00:26:14.520 We're, we're actually scared to lose our pastors as well.
00:26:20.300 And it's always the pastors who are faithful to the traditional teaching of the church.
00:26:25.820 And I'm not, you know, talking about Latin mass.
00:26:28.760 Everybody thinks, oh, that's only Latin mass.
00:26:30.340 No, it's not.
00:26:31.480 It's every pastor who preaches the truth, the truths of Jesus Christ, which are so
00:26:37.080 hounded today, even from the inside of the church.
00:26:40.160 And that's, what's probably the worst thing about all of this.
00:26:44.940 But Father, you've had a history in this also with regard to a letter you wrote to an
00:26:52.360 archbishop.
00:26:52.760 And what I find so beautiful about it is also that it gives solutions, because a lot of
00:26:58.880 us see the problems.
00:27:00.520 What do we have for solutions?
00:27:02.080 If you wouldn't mind telling us a little bit about that.

00:27:28.760 And now, back to the video.
00:27:32.280 This goes back to the beginning of 2020, so three years ago.
00:27:37.800 I had a message from a certain bishop just asking me, you know, the COVID was spreading
00:27:44.760 all over the world.
00:27:46.880 And I'd come back from Singapore, seeing my parents.
00:27:50.660 And, you know, there were planes, plane loads of people coming from Wuhan into Singapore.
00:27:58.960 And I got out just in time before the whole place was locked down.
00:28:04.460 And there was kind of panic.
00:28:06.160 It was like a zombie apocalypse or something.
00:28:08.600 It's, you know, people were afraid because they'd been through something similar many years
00:28:13.420 before in Southeast Asia with MERS or something.
00:28:17.000 I can't remember which one.
00:28:18.380 And people had died.
00:28:21.080 So there's this panic.
00:28:23.300 And this bishop asked me for advice on what to do.
00:28:28.160 So I was in Trinidad at the time on a mission, on a Medjugorje mission.
00:28:32.620 And so I just wrote down something quickly and sent it to him.
00:28:35.760 This contagion is a test of faith.
00:28:38.280 And churchmen respond with fear and human solutions.
00:28:41.600 Of course, prudence is always called for.
00:28:43.620 We should minimize the risk of exposure, but we should also rely on God.
00:28:46.940 I think this is a huge thing for me.
00:28:48.900 I think, you know, we can't just, and I'm a medical doctor.
00:28:51.960 I have that background.
00:28:53.160 You have to be prudent.
00:28:54.280 You have to take all the necessary precautions.
00:28:56.740 But at the same time, we're also people of faith.
00:28:59.620 There's certain other things that we need to do.
00:29:01.600 St.
00:29:01.800 Charles Borromeo would be ashamed of the churches throughout the world.
00:29:04.760 Many have shut from February onwards and remain shut.
00:29:07.640 And basically speaking about Asia, I think, here, because it hadn't reached the West yet.
00:29:11.540 Masses are suspended.
00:29:13.560 Holy water has been removed from churches.
00:29:15.740 Even if these bishops did shut their churches, they might have proclaimed the fast, done processions, made acts of reparation.
00:29:22.240 Instead, the perpetual sacrifice is suspended.
00:29:25.700 For how long?
00:29:26.580 Only the devil laughs when Holy Mass is taken away from the people of God.
00:29:30.460 This is not a major chastisement.
00:29:33.480 It is a forewarning.
00:29:35.040 It is a mini version of what could happen.
00:29:37.520 What is truly scary is the lack of faith shown by the clergy.
00:29:42.340 They're scared of looking foolish or medieval, in quotation marks, and so conform to modern expectations.
00:29:48.380 Remove sacred things, holy water, mass, etc., and not have explicit recourse to divine remedies.
00:29:54.960 Now, he actually asked me for my own proposal, so I went right ahead.
00:29:59.060 But instead, the practical things they should do are, number one, suspend all extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion,
00:30:06.820 because you want to minimize the risk of exposure.
00:30:10.780 Number two, restrict communion to the host only and not give out the chalice.
00:30:14.660 Makes sense.
00:30:15.820 Number three, let the priests and deacons sterilize their hands before entering the sanctuary and before communion.
00:30:20.280 I think many of them did that.
00:30:22.200 Four, restrict communion to the tongue directly only.
00:30:24.940 Hands are filled with germs, and communion in the hand risks contact.
00:30:29.160 Communion on the tongue is safer if it is done properly.
00:30:31.620 Now, this is true, actually.
00:30:32.780 I mean, it's not just me.
00:30:33.900 Most Catholic doctors said the same thing.
00:30:36.860 I think the Catholic Medical Association of Italy, Germany, Austria, and also some of the Catholic doctors in the States said this at that time,
00:30:46.340 that communion on the tongue is safer.
00:30:47.780 It's kind of stating the obvious, but I think I do understand that non-medical people don't quite see it.
00:30:55.340 They don't understand the danger of, you know, the thing, you know, when in practice, when you give communion on the hand,
00:31:00.580 people automatically raise their hands and brush against your fingers.
00:31:04.920 There's contact, there's contamination.
00:31:06.200 It's much, much safer on the tongue.
00:31:10.020 Make taking holy water optional.
00:31:13.280 Encourage the sick to participate at home with the spiritual communion.
00:31:16.860 Okay, so I was kind of ahead of my time, I guess.
00:31:19.460 And then more importantly, I said, the spiritual acts they should do, which they are frightened of promoting.
00:31:25.600 From the bishop to the youngest altar boy, proclaim a fast.
00:31:29.740 Let the clergy fast totally, a black fast on one day.
00:31:33.700 Then everyone fast in Lent.
00:31:35.400 It was, Lent was just coming up at that time, 2020.
00:31:39.100 Only one meal a day, a frugal meal taken in the evening or at noon for the whole of Lent.
00:31:44.320 Let all the sick and the weak be exempt, obviously.
00:31:48.020 But to do acts of penance and reparation.
00:31:50.980 Let every family commit to praying five decades of the rosary daily, every evening, maybe.
00:31:57.220 Let every head of the house burn exorcised incense in the home every evening and bless the children.
00:32:03.500 Allow the smoke to penetrate the home, especially the main entrances.
00:32:06.860 Use holy water and salt.
00:32:09.260 Anoint the main entrances with exorcised oil.
00:32:11.660 Let the children be taught to call on their guardian angels every day before leaving the house and before bedtime.
00:32:18.040 I guess I envisage that children would still go to school.
00:32:20.460 Because COVID doesn't really affect children.
00:32:23.100 Let the parish, led by their pastors, process around their church every day and around the parish once a week.
00:32:30.740 And let the churches sound their bells at sunrise and sunset.
00:32:33.940 If the bells have not been blessed by the bishop, let him see to it immediately.
00:32:37.820 And finally, let the bishop lead a public consecration of himself and his flock to the sacred hearts of Jesus and Mary.
00:32:44.700 So that was basically what I said.
00:32:47.320 And I still stand by all of that.
00:32:50.780 I do.
00:32:51.540 I don't understand why more bishops and priests didn't do this.
00:32:55.600 When we shut our churches, I understand the panic because they're afraid, I don't want to be responsible for spreading this disease and people might die.
00:33:03.460 But like the excessive steps taken, it kind of shows the lack of faith in the clergy, within the clergy.
00:33:12.920 You know, they're saying the sacraments, well, we don't really believe in them.
00:33:17.800 They're not that important.
00:33:19.260 You know, stay at home.
00:33:20.060 That's it.
00:33:20.520 You know, the only important thing is this disease.
00:33:22.880 That's it.
00:33:23.340 That's what we're saying when we act like that.
00:33:26.560 Two stunning things, Father, that go right along with that.
00:33:30.660 One, sad but humorous.
00:33:34.800 I mean, from a faith perspective, they closed Lourdes.
00:33:40.580 The place of healing closed during a time of the greatest need of the place of healing.
00:33:46.440 Or supposedly, if it was a pandemic, that was so bad.
00:33:49.120 But that was one thing.
00:33:52.100 But a much more sad thing and much more severe thing that I think shocked a lot of Catholics to their core was some bishops telling their priests they could not go and give the last rites to the dying.
00:34:09.760 My father died without the sacraments, you know, having been a faithful Catholic all his life.
00:34:15.280 He had dementia, so I don't know how much of it he knew what was going on.
00:34:19.540 But no, he was not seen.
00:34:23.180 He was, I don't know, he was given communion by a layperson who would come around.
00:34:27.580 One of his old neighbors would come now and then.
00:34:31.000 But he died without anointing.
00:34:33.140 Yeah, my mom was in a similar situation.
00:34:35.920 I was even unable to go to her for her funeral and so on.
00:34:39.960 So in the old days in the litany, we would say from a sudden and unprovided death, deliver us, O Lord.
00:34:47.600 You know, the unprovided meant not getting the last three sacraments, confession, communion, anointing.
00:34:54.900 Not necessarily in that order, but, you know, we want.
00:34:59.160 Because it is a viaticum, you know, the thing you take with you on the journey from life to the eternal life.
00:35:07.540 I find it very disappointing because I don't know if disappointing is the word.
00:35:12.100 I wasn't sitting around looking at other priests and judging them.
00:35:14.380 I was more thinking, what's going on?
00:35:18.160 Do they not believe?
00:35:20.260 And I think maybe that's also at the heart of what I preached in that homily.
00:35:23.960 You know, if people are playing, want to play fast and loose with the church's teachings, or the teachings of Jesus, in fact.
00:35:33.140 If they want to pretend that they're wiser than Jesus, that they're more merciful than Jesus, then they're saying something extraordinary.
00:35:40.180 They're saying, first of all, to John the Baptist, they're saying, John the Baptist, you are a cretin because you opposed Herod taking his brother's wife.
00:35:50.140 When you should have just accompanied them and not be condemning them.
00:35:54.220 This language is terrible.
00:35:55.560 No, no, you're not including them.
00:35:57.660 And then say to King Herod the Great, when he slaughters all the infants under two years old, no, King Herod, you're a good Catholic, carry on receiving communion.
00:36:05.140 This is what we're saying.
00:36:06.980 And if we're doing that, and I can't help being a doctor, I'm going to diagnose.
00:36:13.320 I think if a bishop or priest genuinely, sincerely believes that and says something like that, then I don't think he prays.
00:36:23.900 I don't think it's compatible to be a man of prayer and to come up with that kind of stuff.
00:36:30.080 I don't think that bishop or priest is praying their rosary every day.
00:36:34.200 I don't think they're making their holy hour.
00:36:36.140 However, I'm not judging them, but fathers, if you're listening, ask yourselves, are you actually doing this?
00:36:43.920 Is Jesus still number one in your life?
00:36:46.620 Have you forgotten why you fell in love with him and wanted to follow him in this vocation?
00:36:52.920 Because if you have, it's not too late to rediscover him.
00:36:56.480 But there's nothing as tragic as a cleric losing his faith.
00:37:01.840 That would be awful.
00:37:02.920 One of the things that was very controversial about this whole rollout was the truth of the way these so-called vaccines were manufactured.
00:37:17.560 The truth of the abortion-tainted nature of the vaccines.
00:37:22.940 I had an interview with Pamela Acker.
00:37:27.400 To my mind, probably the greatest researcher on vaccines the world has ever seen.
00:37:31.540 And she, yes, as she's been criticized for, doesn't have a PhD.
00:37:36.500 But that's because she was at Catholic University of America doing her PhD and realized that they were working with abortion-tainted cell lines.
00:37:46.820 And she said she couldn't do it.
00:37:48.860 And that cost her her PhD.
00:37:52.300 So she gladly left it.
00:37:53.600 Now, she had a disability, so she kept reading on the topic for the rest of her life.
00:37:57.080 And that's why I say probably of all people on Earth, she's probably the best read on the subject.
00:38:02.920 In an interview with me, she exposed how these cell lines were made from which we derived the COVID-19 so-called vaccines.
00:38:12.460 And it's horrific.
00:38:14.920 It's much more than just, oh, it's just a little bit of this and that.
00:38:18.240 No.
00:38:19.760 She described it as akin to vivisection.
00:38:23.520 Because, as she proved later, the hearts were still beating in these children when they extract the organs.
00:38:31.240 Remember, it's HEK293 is the cell line.
00:38:34.200 Human embryonic kidney.
00:38:35.320 Now, you know this very well as a doctor, but for most people, that flew over heads.
00:38:41.220 And what was most stunning to me, people who should have known better, very high-profile Catholic philosophers, PhDs, researchers, whatnot,
00:38:51.880 they claimed she was false and what she was saying was false.
00:38:55.040 They didn't have the evidence, perhaps, but they just said, you know, how they cut her up for not having a PhD.
00:39:03.380 And, yeah, unreal.
00:39:05.900 But, Father, I'd love to hear your take.
00:39:07.520 My interest in all this goes back a long way because I told you I'm a doctor.
00:39:11.040 And in the order, as a Dominican, I trained as a moral theologian.
00:39:15.300 And, honestly, when all of this began, I thought, great, you know, we'll get a whole bunch of really good moral theologians teaching the truth.
00:39:24.260 And it'll all be clear.
00:39:25.820 And it'll be marvelous.
00:39:27.380 And then I waited.
00:39:28.580 And nothing happened.
00:39:29.580 And then I saw a certain document, excuse me, written by, signed by some of my former colleagues where they said that the use of cell lines from aborted fetuses was not only morally permissible, but a scientific advance to be welcomed.
00:39:50.500 And when I saw that, I thought, this is it.
00:39:53.000 Something has to happen.
00:39:54.480 So I prayed and prayed and prayed over this for a long time.
00:39:57.720 I agonized, I read, I made notes, something like close to 100 pages of notes on all these things.
00:40:04.980 I read what bishops' conferences had to say about this from all over the world, but also especially the science behind it.
00:40:12.600 Actually, what happened was I had a mystical experience.
00:40:15.920 It's not exactly the kind of thing you want to say on the Internet, but I will.
00:40:20.420 I had a mystical experience here in our chapel.
00:40:22.260 I was praying before the Blessed Sacrament, just totally paralyzed by fear.
00:40:27.720 And something happened to me.
00:40:30.520 It's something to do with the Holy Family.
00:40:32.020 I'll just leave it at that.
00:40:33.420 But the Holy Family made their presence known to me and gave me courage.
00:40:38.920 So I wrote about this stuff.
00:40:42.920 And one of my heroes in all this is Mrs. Deborah Vintage.
00:40:47.160 I think she's in Texas.
00:40:48.980 Children of God for Life.
00:40:50.620 Debbie Vintage.
00:40:51.220 Yeah, because she, years ago, before anyone else realized, she seemed to have tweaked what was going on.
00:40:58.800 And she pushed and she got the CDF to act on this and the Pontifical Academy for Life.
00:41:05.020 And they did.
00:41:06.320 And they came up with a couple of wonderful documents, giving people guidance on all this.
00:41:10.880 And also, shortly after, there was also a doctor from Singapore.
00:41:15.260 I forget his name.
00:41:17.080 He's an Opus Dei.
00:41:18.440 And he wrote an article on HEK 293 on how that baby was sourced.
00:41:26.960 Because it's often obscured and said, oh, she was stillborn.
00:41:32.140 But stillborns are useless for this kind of experimentation.
00:41:37.000 They need live babies.
00:41:38.300 And many of them admit the babies are live, as you said.
00:41:41.580 And you said vivisection.
00:41:43.180 They're harvested alive.
00:41:44.620 And they can't be given anesthetic because it spoils the cells and the tissues.
00:41:49.300 And they want it unspoiled.
00:41:51.880 And we have depositions from doctors who have done these kinds of vivisections telling us what they did.
00:41:58.720 It's horrific stuff.
00:42:00.000 Really horrific.
00:42:00.700 I won't go into any details because it's very, very disturbing.
00:42:04.860 My own involvement in this as a doctor, as a medical student, to work in the hospital.
00:42:10.860 So this is in the mid-90s, back in England.
00:42:14.500 I was vaccinated against hepatitis B with a vaccine called Haverix.
00:42:22.440 Now, I didn't know until a couple of years ago that Haverix contains cells.
00:42:30.700 From a little baby boy, aborted in 1965.
00:42:35.660 He's known as MRC5, Medical Research Council, fetus number five.
00:42:40.760 I think had I known, I certainly would have refused the vaccine and asked for an alternative that didn't use any babies.
00:42:48.840 Now, I think people are often horrified by the idea that they might be injected with cells from an aborted fetus.
00:42:54.200 It is horrifying, but it's horrifying because the child was killed, unjustly killed.
00:43:02.260 It's not horrifying to have someone else's cells injected into you.
00:43:06.740 You know, I could donate my kidney to you.
00:43:09.000 You might have my cells in you.
00:43:10.920 That's not horrific in itself.
00:43:13.200 But the horror comes from the abortion.
00:43:15.620 With all these kinds of cell lines, like the American Bishops Conference,
00:43:20.080 they tried to make a distinction between those therapies, shall we say,
00:43:25.580 experimental therapies that were designed using cells from aborted babies and those that contained those cells.
00:43:32.740 Now, I don't think that distinction is too important.
00:43:34.900 Morally, they're equally bad.
00:43:37.340 The church's teaching on this is clear.
00:43:40.980 Yes, you can use such medicines if there's a great enough need for a limited period, etc.
00:43:50.420 But that you also have, there are certain things that you have to do.
00:43:53.200 May I read to you from, please?
00:43:55.240 This is the Pontifical Academy for Life, from their moral reflections on vaccines prepared from cells derived from aborted human fetuses.
00:44:04.720 Okay, this is what it says.
00:44:06.700 The faithful and citizens of upright conscience have a duty to take recourse to alternative vaccines if they exist,
00:44:14.660 putting pressure on the political authorities and health systems so that other vaccines without moral problems become available.
00:44:21.200 They should take recourse, if necessary, to the use of conscientious objection with regard to the use of vaccines produced by means of cell lines of aborted fetal, human fetal origin.
00:44:32.440 Equally, they should oppose by all means in writing through the various associations, mass media,
00:44:38.800 the vaccines which do not yet have morally acceptable alternatives,
00:44:43.080 creating pressure so that alternative vaccines are prepared, which are not connected with the abortion of a human fetus,
00:44:50.560 and requesting rigorous legal control of the pharmaceutical industry producers.
00:44:57.800 Okay, so that is the Pontifical Academy for Life opening.
00:45:01.940 And it's absolutely spot on, but we didn't really hear too much of that when the vaccines were being promoted.
00:45:07.640 We were just told, okay, your cooperation in it is remote and passive, therefore it's okay.
00:45:15.260 Yes, we're not personally responsible, but if we don't protest, they're never going to change the system.
00:45:24.180 They're going to carry on aborting babies and using them.
00:45:29.240 And then we're told all sorts of things.
00:45:30.880 Oh, these abortions happened a long time ago.
00:45:33.180 Well, yes and no.
00:45:35.560 Some of them have happened more recently.
00:45:37.260 They're still trying to produce new cell lines all the time.
00:45:40.460 I decided to write something about this, and I wrote a short article about six pages.
00:45:45.720 And it was published on an Italian website, La Bustola Quotidiana, the Daily Compass.
00:45:56.160 And I think also a Croatian website.
00:45:58.140 I can't remember what it was called now, but they published it.
00:46:00.660 And what happened was when I finished writing it, I was again paralyzed by fear.
00:46:07.620 And I thought, I can't do this because I thought it felt weird to be the only one saying this or to feel like you're the only one.
00:46:15.120 Maybe there are other people out there, but we weren't really connecting with each other.
00:46:19.280 What came to me in prayer was talk about the children.
00:46:24.160 Don't talk about cell lines.
00:46:25.540 Talk about the children.
00:46:27.000 So I did.
00:46:27.660 So I picked 12 of the most commonly used cell lines, and I gave their numbers.
00:46:33.360 They all have these alphanumeric designations, you know, WI26 and MIMR90 and that kind of thing.
00:46:39.900 You know, but I put in brackets boy or girl.
00:46:45.160 Okay.
00:46:45.800 And then I remember like someone did a French translation of the article.
00:46:50.360 And instead of boy or girl, they put fetus of the male sex, so fetus of the feminine sex.
00:46:57.020 And I thought, no, no, no, emphasize their humanity.
00:47:00.600 I mean, boy or girl.
00:47:02.040 And I went a step further because there's an association in the UK, the Center for Bioethical Reform.
00:47:11.880 I think it's run by evangelicals, and they do a great job.
00:47:17.100 And they named H-E-K-293, the little girl, the little Dutch girl that killed in 1972, 73, who's behind most of the COVID vaccines.
00:47:28.100 And they named her Johanna.
00:47:31.820 And I thought, this is what I need to do.
00:47:34.360 I need to name these children.
00:47:36.560 So I did.
00:47:38.700 And it was fairly straightforward.
00:47:41.300 You know, if it was a Swedish baby killed in 1963, I looked up most popular Swedish names in 1963.
00:47:48.620 I prayed about it and picked a name.
00:47:50.280 The last one on the list was a baby killed in China in, I think, 2009.
00:47:57.720 That's probably around the time she was killed.
00:48:00.440 They were all selected.
00:48:02.580 They were allowed to mature so they'd be big enough before they could be harvested.
00:48:07.980 And then she was delivered through this novel technique called a water bag abortion, basically to deliver the entire baby and the amniotic sac intact.
00:48:18.320 So she'd be alive when they cut into her and took whatever they wanted.
00:48:24.200 So she, I called her Anna because it was on the feast of St. Anne and Joakim.
00:48:29.920 And her Chinese name, I got my best friend in Singapore, who's Chinese, and who's Chinese is really good.
00:48:36.580 I said, can you give me a girl's name in Chinese, something pretty?
00:48:40.480 And so he did.
00:48:41.360 So that's how I came up with this.
00:48:43.060 And what I did is I gave all this to some pro-life friends who are very interested in all this.
00:48:49.120 And they put it up.
00:48:50.300 They made a website called motheroftheunborn.com.
00:48:54.660 I think they handed it over to the friars of the renewal who are heavily into promoting pro-life things.
00:49:01.740 So they're promoting it.
00:49:03.880 And these children are all named.
00:49:05.420 Yeah, beautiful, beautiful cards, if I might say, Father, go to motheroftheunborn.com and check them out because they're really, really beautiful.
00:49:13.800 And they give away the PDFs so that you can print it out yourself and hand them out.
00:49:17.660 Just beautiful stuff.
00:49:18.800 On the website, you can download the cards and print them off yourself and just distribute it wherever.
00:49:24.840 So they're being given out all over the world, I think.
00:49:26.600 I heard reports from Australia and the States and Ireland.
00:49:31.780 People are giving out cards.
00:49:33.100 And lots of people are looking up the website and saying that what I did is I wrote down everything I could about those 12 children, everything I could find out about them.
00:49:40.760 And I gave links to Children of God for Life and some other good organizations who are pro-life so people could find out more information from them.
00:49:50.800 I wonder if you ever thought that as a priest who doesn't get to get married, it's us fathers who get to take part in naming children.
00:50:02.780 But here you were given the privilege of naming a dozen or so children when you're a priest and that doesn't normally fall to you.
00:50:10.760 Yeah, that's true.
00:50:11.460 I don't ordinarily.
00:50:13.620 Usually when people ask me for a suggestion, I always tell them Leon, but no one ever pays attention to me.
00:50:20.800 I felt a connection with these children because actually I forgot to tell you, I had a second mystical experience before I published the article, which was the whole while I was praying again, I was paralyzed with fear and I thought I can't do this.
00:50:33.380 And the whole area around the tabernacle lit up and I heard these little voices and small children came out with their hands linked.
00:50:45.500 It sounds like a modern mass actually, children linking their arms around the altar.
00:50:48.940 But they came out and they were calling me and they told me, they gave me a reason why I should not have to fear anything, which is basically that they were coming for me soon enough that I would never have to fear anything.
00:51:06.040 So when I saw that, I thought, yes, I have to do it for the children.
00:51:09.280 I need to do this for the children.
00:51:10.520 That's what it's about.
00:51:11.180 I don't care about anything else.
00:51:15.000 I mean, we can't carry on allowing our fellow human beings to slaughter babies so that we can benefit from this.
00:51:24.100 This is just not right.
00:51:25.800 If we say nothing, if we don't register our conscientious objection, it will carry on.
00:51:30.820 You know, the father of modern vaccines, Dr. Stanley Plotkin, he actually said, the Catholic Church teaches that Catholics can take these vaccines and it's not a sin.
00:51:42.040 He's right.
00:51:43.760 But that I am going to hell, which I'm happy to do.
00:51:48.500 Now, when we do that, basically, we're saying we don't love Dr. Stanley Plotkin enough or researchers enough.
00:51:54.100 Why don't we love them enough?
00:51:55.240 Why are we happy for those researchers to go to hell?
00:51:58.740 Because their cooperation in this is direct, immediate, and they are culpable.
00:52:05.520 You know, when we only say things like, oh, well, you know, we can take the vaccines, we're okay.
00:52:10.060 That's a little bit selfish.
00:52:11.720 Father, what are your closing thoughts?
00:52:14.180 I think a lot of people often do wonder, what can we do?
00:52:18.780 We feel kind of helpless against the shutdowns and the vaccines and the pressures that are all there.
00:52:24.680 Or what's your suggestion for the laity?
00:52:27.400 Consecrate yourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to St. Joseph, to his most chaste heart.
00:52:34.680 Don't be afraid.
00:52:36.820 We, as far as civil authorities go, the state only exists to help us, to support us.
00:52:43.860 They're not in charge.
00:52:45.100 Okay.
00:52:45.760 And if they exceed their authority and their bounds, well, that's not right.
00:52:51.920 But the authority belongs to us.
00:52:54.680 And with the church, well, you are the domestic church.
00:52:57.960 Every family is a domestic church.
00:53:00.520 Don't be afraid.
00:53:01.540 You have your Bible.
00:53:02.320 You know your prayers.
00:53:04.880 Frequent the sacraments so long as they're still available to you.
00:53:09.040 But above all, do not be afraid of anything or anyone.
00:53:13.420 Be faithful to Jesus.
00:53:15.020 Father Leon Pereira, thank you so much for being with us.
00:53:18.240 You're welcome.
