The John-Henry Westen Show - Knights of Saint John Paul II Serve Queen Heaven And Her Army

00:00:00.000 He was in the Marine Corps. He said, have you ever heard of the 40 percenters? And I said, no. 1.00

00:00:04.320 What's that? He said, well, when you're injured bad or tired, whatever the situation is where

00:00:10.460 you're at the point that you want to give up, you are only at 40 percent of what you can deal with.

00:00:23.620 Hello, my friends. I think I've said it before. I'll say it again.

00:00:27.940 One of the most important things that you can do to take back your town, your families for Jesus and

00:00:35.460 Mary, is the work of a new group of knights called the Knights of John Paul II. What I love about it

00:00:43.780 is it's such an easy program. It's basically nothing but men getting together once a week to pray.

00:00:50.960 But importantly, the difference is they're not just sitting somewhere praying together. Nope.

00:00:57.640 They're actually walking around their town in twos, open carry, rosary out, and praying the Holy

00:01:07.380 Rosary to take back their towns for Jesus and Mary. It is so needed. We're going to get into that

00:01:14.800 with the founder of this movement, Daniel Potvin, on this episode of the John Hunter Weston Show.

00:01:19.780 Stay tuned.

00:01:49.780 When others were intimidated into silence, we spoke out boldly. Truth is what we live for. It's the air

00:01:57.380 we breathe. We are in the middle of our spring fundraising campaign, and I humbly ask that you

00:02:04.300 please consider including LifeSite News in your Lenten financial almsgiving. It is your support which

00:02:11.540 makes the continuation of LifeSite News' mission possible. May God bless you.

00:02:20.380 Daniel, so good to be with you again.

00:02:22.060 Good to be with you, John. I'm Henry.

00:02:23.980 Let's begin as we always do with the sign of the cross.

00:02:26.060 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

00:02:31.620 So, Daniel, this is a great movement that's sort of spreading all over the place.

00:02:34.900 We took it up here about some six months ago now, and we've had a faithful crew of guys

00:02:40.620 walking around our town, including in our extremely cold weather. We had negative 26

00:02:47.060 last week, and the guys were out in force. We had six guys. We walk in twos, so we do different

00:02:54.860 areas of our town, encircling them. I just want to say how I came to this. When you first came to me

00:03:00.960 about this, it was very providential, because you sent me this stuff in the mail, and honestly,

00:03:07.520 I get a lot of stuff in the mail. And I took a brief look at it, and I was thinking, oh, that's

00:03:13.860 a neat program, particularly in its simplicity, because it was so awesomely simple. Basically,

00:03:19.080 men getting together, a new order of knights, if you will, and they're walking around their towns

00:03:24.760 in twos, very biblical, praying the Holy Rosary, the most important activity you can probably do,

00:03:30.260 even that. I was like, wow, that's a good idea. But the commitment wasn't there. But when I realized

00:03:36.300 what was going on in our town anyway, we had two drag shows. We had the hospital closed down the 0.99

00:03:43.720 Catholic chapel. We had the town hall decide to fly the gay pride flag for June. We had people asking

00:03:52.960 to start a Muslim mosque. What in the world is going on? We obviously need to take back our town 1.00

00:03:59.580 for Jesus and Mary. And then everybody has problems with their families. And so the program was so

00:04:06.960 beautiful. I knew it was providential. It was very providential. It came to me right at that time.

00:04:12.240 And so thank you for sending it. We've been faithfully doing it. It's an awesome program, Daniel.

00:04:16.680 You guys down here are hearing about it. You guys are definitely tougher than us down here. The

00:04:21.800 weather's a bit more fridges up there. But maybe we can toughen up and stay up to speed with our

00:04:32.200 Canadian brothers. It's only one hour. So it's a one hour commitment once a week. And it's just guys.

00:04:39.620 And guys aren't big. I don't know if any of you ladies out there, when you get together, 1.00

00:04:42.920 you talk a lot. Guys get together. Talking is not such a big deal. We talk about sports and what's

00:04:53.020 going on that way. This is actually much more productive. We give each other high fives when

00:04:58.460 we show up. And we pray. The program's so simple. You pray outside the front of the church or one of

00:05:03.920 the local churches where you're at. You ask the heavenly army to come down and join you. And then

00:05:10.440 you walk for the rest of the hour. At our group, we say at least 15 decades of the Holy Rosary,

00:05:19.860 sometimes 20 if we can get there. Most of the time we can't because in that one hour time slot doesn't

00:05:25.060 work. Absolutely beautiful. And the camaraderie is there, even though we don't talk that much

00:05:29.700 other than the praying together. I think it's just incredible.

00:05:33.280 There's a lot of aspects that I didn't see when I first founded it, but reclaiming your town and

00:05:39.840 trusting your town to our king and queen, reclaiming it for Jesus and Mary. You're walking 1.00

00:05:45.380 through your town and you notice things you wouldn't notice sitting in your house watching

00:05:49.440 the ball game. A lot of us don't get out much anymore. You see the new shop set open up. This

00:05:56.100 opens up and it's like, what's this doing in my town? And I think that's important is taking ownership,

00:06:03.760 right? We name our town. Jesus is king of everything and Mary's queen of heaven and earth. So our towns

00:06:11.380 belong to Jesus and Mary automatically. And we're their sons and daughters. So that means we're princes and

00:06:23.600 princesses in a sense, right? And, and so that town is mine. It's my king's town. It's my town as well.

00:06:31.780 And, and that ownership I think is important. We, we think of it more on a, on a country basis.

00:06:37.080 You know, this is my country, but our towns have been overrun. I mean, unless you're in Medjugorje,

00:06:44.340 good chance your town has been overrun and somebody's got to, you know, I'll quote Father Hellman,

00:06:51.940 you know, somebody's got to step into the breach and, and start pushing back. And I'm not saying

00:06:58.780 this is the end all be all. There's other ways to fight, but this is a great way to fight against

00:07:04.120 the forces that are, are pushing up against us and taking over the place. Um, you might say it's a

00:07:11.660 beginning, right? Everything begins with prayer, that prayer and that ownership. And you know,

00:07:16.760 the rosary is the most powerful weapon we have. We all know that. Um, and yeah, we could meet and

00:07:23.200 we could even go in front of the blessed sacrament and I'm sure that would be powerful, but walking on

00:07:30.300 the street, that public, that public witness. And, uh, then of course, you, you know, calling the

00:07:37.080 heavenly army, that's just, you know, we, we've got a force behind us that it's a force to be reckoned

00:07:42.860 with. And, uh, I put a lot of hope and trust in that. Let's take a look at that. This was the

00:07:48.260 prayer that, uh, you composed over, over a long time, uh, and, uh, and with the help of spiritual

00:07:53.780 direction, of course, but it's an amazing little prayer. Uh, when we were in Rome, uh, we had the

00:07:59.400 occasion to, uh, pray that prayer together. Let's take a look at that.

00:08:02.920 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. We entrust Rome 0.99

00:08:10.560 to the sacred heart of Jesus and the immaculate heart of Mary. We claim this city for Jesus,

00:08:18.560 King of all nations, and our Queen, Our Lady of Guadalupe. We repent of all the ways which

00:08:25.880 we have allowed evil to infiltrate our city and our families. And we resolve to take our city

00:08:33.560 and our families back. So we join together today to drive out all the demons and evil from Rome.

00:08:43.060 Because we are small and weak, we call upon Our Lady of Guadalupe, the woman clothed with the sun,

00:08:51.180 who does battle with the dragon, to go before us and lead us. We call upon Saint Joseph,

00:08:59.060 terror of demons, to go beside us. We call upon Saint Michael, the archangel, to arise now,

00:09:07.120 come with your sword, and bring all the angels of heaven to join us and to drive all the demons

00:09:14.580 and evil out of our city. We call upon all the saints in heaven to join us now and to aid us in

00:09:23.260 battle. We also call upon all you souls in purgatory to join us now and be with us today in this battle.

00:09:32.720 And lastly, we call upon you, John Paul II, and company to be with us now and pray for us and help us

00:09:41.860 to drive the enemies of Christ out of our city.

00:09:47.460 And so now we would join in the Holy Rosary, praying as they do. The only differences in the Holy Rosary

00:09:55.920 are after each decade, you pray the Oh My Jesus Prayer, in addition to the Come Holy Spirit Prayer,

00:10:02.420 and the Saint Michael Prayer, and also before each mystery, ask for a particular grace in each decade.

00:10:11.400 Very simple, very beautiful.

00:10:14.940 The power that's there, the power of the Most Holy Rosary, is incredible.

00:10:18.980 The idea of walking around your town, of encircling where you are trying to protect,

00:10:30.120 is actually very historical, at least in the divine sense. We all know the story of Jericho and the

00:10:37.600 march around the Jericho walls that brought down the walls and really conquered the city for God's 0.99

00:10:45.140 people. That's sort of like what we're doing here. But also, there's another concept because

00:10:50.940 we don't want to destroy the walls of our town. We want to destroy the strongholds of Satan around

00:10:56.520 our town. But also, we have this beautiful story from France, Our Lady of the Ribbon, it's called,

00:11:03.240 where Our Lady basically encircles the town with a ribbon and in there protected them from the plague. 1.00

00:11:10.720 So, the idea of walking around, encircling your town with prayer is very powerful. We know that

00:11:20.800 guards who are guarding places do the rounds of the place. Sometimes they'll go in twos.

00:11:27.820 And we are called to be soldiers, soldiers for Christ. And that's why I think this movement for men,

00:11:34.460 this new movement of knights, it's incredible. Men being called together to defend their towns and

00:11:42.640 their families and to literally, rosary in hand, weapon in hand, to encircle the town in all of its

00:11:51.220 most important parts.

00:11:52.720 I'm always amazed. Almost every week, afterwards, I'll be like,

00:11:57.100 Lord, I don't deserve to be with this group of men. These guys are like all fighters, warriors,

00:12:04.460 it's humbling in a sense. You know, we're not a big group here. If everybody showed up,

00:12:11.080 we might have 8, 10, 12 guys. What's happened in our area is, you know, I may show up and I may have

00:12:19.000 problems, right? And this guy might have dealt with it two years ago. So, there's a lot of that

00:12:25.660 that happens also. You know, like, you could say, you know, counseling of each other, giving advice

00:12:35.340 and whatnot. And we all have days we're done. We all have, actually, our guys have been getting beat

00:12:43.060 up pretty good the last four years. And so, to have that support group, you know, that's kind of a fruit

00:12:50.960 that's come out of it that I didn't really anticipate. You know, I didn't think it would

00:12:55.060 spread like it is. In the back of my mind, I envisioned in the beginning, I'm like, well,

00:13:01.500 there should be at least two nights in every town across the globe. At least two men heading out with

00:13:06.600 the army, you know, praying for their town and their families and the officials and everything.

00:13:11.760 Um, but now it's actually taking off and, and, uh, it's very exciting.

00:13:18.160 In, in, in terms of it taking off, we have, there's a website, knightsofjohnpolasecond.org.

00:13:25.460 Please go there and sign up so that you can keep up to date on what's going on. Um, you'll be able

00:13:29.700 to find out who in your town is doing it. If there's nobody, you start it. All you need is one

00:13:34.420 other guy to at least start. Um, in our town, we typically, we have about, yeah, we have about the same

00:13:40.100 number. If everybody came, whoever came, we'd have about a 10 or so, but we have a number of routes

00:13:46.680 around town, which are very important. One encircles the high school, one, one of the grade

00:13:52.780 school goes to either end of the town, East to West. Um, the other, another route around the main

00:13:58.540 parish in the town, which encompasses the hospitals of, uh, excuse me, encompasses the, the town center

00:14:03.820 and so on. But we'd like to do another route, uh, to encircle the hospital as well. These things

00:14:09.380 provide spiritual protection. And it's a very real battle. And we don't think we're anything

00:14:17.100 special in doing it. We're emissaries, um, of our lady praying her most holy rosary. That's what's

00:14:24.260 going to do the power. Um, we like to be, um, like the, the proverbial donkey or, or a mule carrying our

00:14:34.120 lady to Elizabeth, the queen of the heavenly armies is the one who's going to act to take 0.98

00:14:39.940 back our town for Jesus and Mary. And we, by going around with her weapon, wielding it just by praying.

00:14:48.340 And yes, we have all the, you know, there's distractions when we pray, there's all sorts of

00:14:52.560 things, but we're trying to be faithful to it. And it is, Daniel, I think very true inspiration of the

00:14:59.720 Holy Spirit from you for the world. Beautiful thing. Um, because it's just so encouraging, um,

00:15:06.920 to know you're doing activism. You're doing real activism for your town in the most powerful way

00:15:13.840 possible. You might be led from there to run for town council, to go present to, to the school board,

00:15:19.740 to do whatever it is you're called to do, but it will stem from that inspiration. And from that

00:15:25.200 activity you're doing for Christ every week here, we do it at, um, 8 AM. Our mass is at 10 30. So

00:15:33.060 we're able to go to mass, get back from mass so we can get up our, uh, wives and children to help

00:15:39.140 them get ready to get to the 10 30 mass. So we want to do that, especially for the young fathers who

00:15:44.200 there's still a lot of little kids to, to shuffle off to mass. So that's a, it's an absolutely great

00:15:49.680 thing. Daniel, I wanted to ask you about your inspiration, uh, for this, especially that coming

00:15:58.740 from the 1972, uh, statements of the Holy Father of John Paul II. John Paul II, he did prophetic

00:16:07.060 words in Philadelphia. He wasn't a Pope. Yeah. He would, he was Carol Wattita, the Cardinal. Um,

00:16:13.080 and he prophesied that the world was entering into the final confrontation. This was not 1976,

00:16:23.300 almost 50 years ago, 48 years ago. And he said, final confrontation between the church and the

00:16:30.920 anti-church, between the gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the antichrist. Now, back in 1976,

00:16:41.060 that there were signs of all that, but today, if we can't see it today, it's on, and it's unrolling

00:16:49.080 fast right now. Even secular people with no faith can see something is up. The verse that hit me

00:16:55.640 while I was writing this in, in the late summer of 2019, it was the reading from Luke's gospel.

00:17:03.280 You know, the, the Lord had sent the 72 out and when they, in pairs of two, and when they came back, 0.75

00:17:10.800 they were all boasting, you know, we were driving out demons. We're healing people. We're all these

00:17:16.300 wonderful deeds in our Lord. Paraphrasing, you know, says that's nothing. Whoa. I have given you

00:17:23.600 the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions in the full force of the enemy and no harm will befall

00:17:31.340 you. So the following week while I was working and that drilled into my head during mass, I kept

00:17:38.900 going back to the missile, which I never do. And I kept rereading that. Then when I got outside the

00:17:44.160 church, I'm everybody, I saw him like, did you hear that? Did you hear that? We've been given that

00:17:49.200 power. And in everybody's looking at me, like I got like three heads, you know, this guy's nuts. 0.99

00:17:54.120 Um, but I reflected on it the following week at work. What's the full force of the enemy

00:17:59.980 in, in all of, you know, from Genesis to the end of revelation and, and what I came up with,

00:18:08.400 and I'm no theologian, but I came up with the, you know, the brain of the antichrist.

00:18:14.380 God's given us a power to tread on that, right? Because in another spot in scripture,

00:18:20.120 I think it's in revelation who can fight against the beast. And it's a question. Well, the reality

00:18:27.620 is I can, you can, any baptized Catholic confirmed Catholic in a state of grace has been given that

00:18:36.060 power to see that God chose to put me in this time, put you in this time, have us born here.

00:18:44.140 We get to fight against this because it is breathing down on us.

00:18:47.700 It is indeed. You know, it's so fascinating that you came up with this at the end of summer,

00:18:55.440 2019, right before we were to go into COVID lockdowns, the world economic forum, controlling

00:19:03.160 our lives forever and ever. It's stunning. It was like our Lord was preparing an army of his own

00:19:11.680 right before the forces of evil were to hit like never before. It's also fascinating what you brought

00:19:18.640 up about our Lord sending them out in twos. And here, this is the program. The program of the

00:19:25.960 Knights is to gather, yes, to, to call in the heavenly army to join us, but then to go out in twos,

00:19:32.420 to go out in twos with our weapon, the Most Holy Rosary, and to wield that weapon all over our

00:19:39.340 towns to take our towns back for Jesus and Mary. Absolutely fascinating. And you're totally right.

00:19:45.980 That battle between our Lord and the Christ and the Antichrist, 1976, I said 1972 by accident before,

00:19:56.360 but it's interesting because it's also repeated in the letter that Sister Lucia gave to Cardinal

00:20:03.900 Kefara. Sister Lucia, the seer of Fatima who survived beyond her cousins, the statement there

00:20:12.400 from Our Lady was that it's the final battle between our Lord and the reign of Satan would

00:20:20.380 be over marriage and the family. And so there's a direct correlation to that vision from Our Lady

00:20:28.680 and the message from John Paul or Carol Voitia while he was still Archbishop in 1976. And it's so

00:20:36.020 interesting that it, it works so well with the Knights of John Paul II, how it's also about taking back

00:20:43.360 our families for Christ. And I know that today it's impossible. It seems humanly impossible to raise

00:20:50.060 your children in such a way that they maintain the faith because they are fed everything. It was

00:20:54.340 bad enough 25 years ago when, when porn was, you know, ubiquitous, but you still had to go somewhere

00:21:01.380 to get it. Now it comes to you. Every child is exposed to it. It seems impossible, just like it seems

00:21:10.600 impossible to fight Antichrist because he'd have everything at his disposal. The brains, if you will,

00:21:17.300 of Satan, the, all of the tech, imagine fighting someone who has access to all of Google's data and

00:21:25.660 the data from your own phone. They know everything about you. The, the potential for taking you down

00:21:31.400 is, it seems like child's play for him. And yet, as you say, we're given the means to fight him

00:21:36.900 with our Lord, with the Holy Sacrifice, the Mass, Mass with the Holy Rosary. Just an incredible thing.

00:21:45.620 I was just on retreat last weekend for three days with the Maronite monks in Petersham, Massachusetts.

00:21:51.600 And there's one of the monks we always talk quite a bit. And he had never, the last time I was there

00:21:59.840 two, three months ago, he had never heard of how the saints of old long to live in these times.

00:22:08.880 They, they, they wish they could live in the times you and I are gifted to be in. He had never heard

00:22:16.160 of that. So I said, well, start with St. Louis de Montfort, look that up. And, and so this visit,

00:22:21.240 he, he was like all excited. And, and he's like, yeah, he's like the times are, he, he knows what's

00:22:28.600 going on in the world is almost as much as you do. Um, even though he's a monk, he's the kind of the

00:22:34.280 head person that meets all the guests and stuff. The graces afforded us in these times are huge

00:22:43.140 because of the times we're in. And, and, and Rofus St. Louis said, you know, the saints of the later

00:22:50.500 times would, would dwarf the cedars of Lebanon. As I've often said, the, the graces are there for 0.69

00:22:56.360 the asking. We have the scriptures that tell us where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more.

00:23:01.340 And we've got more sin. There's no argument there. More sin today than ever before in human history.

00:23:08.180 Anybody ever says, oh, it was much worse before we had blah, blah, blah. Tell them this.

00:23:12.220 Our lady said in Fatima, more souls go to hell because of sins of the flesh, sins of impurity

00:23:18.500 than for any other reason. Think about this. There are more people who today are addicted to

00:23:25.960 pornography that watch it regularly than there were people alive in 1917 when our lady said that. 0.91

00:23:33.320 It's incredible. You know, I think a lot of people are going to be interested because you were inspired

00:23:36.900 to, to, to, to start this movement. Also from Lord of the Rings. What was that?

00:23:43.580 My two sons, when they were five and seven, when the movie came out, they're like, yeah, dad, we got to

00:23:48.280 watch this, right? It's pretty violent movie, but my boys were, you know, already, you know, into all that

00:23:57.340 stuff. And, and I watched it the first time and then, and I ended up getting addicted to it. To be

00:24:03.440 honest with you, I ended up doing the whole six part Catholic course by Joseph Pierce on Lord of the

00:24:10.420 Rings. Peter Kreef spoke at the college, a couple of towns over and listened to his talk. The Catholic

00:24:18.280 faith is all in there, but the, the characters in it, they just want to fight against this evil.

00:24:24.360 And it, it inspired me. Now, okay. You could say the prayer to summon the army. Part of that comes

00:24:33.180 from the Lord of the Rings. When Aragon goes into the mountain and, and calls the souls of the dead

00:24:39.140 to join his army. It wasn't fully there when I was writing about the, you know, setting up the nights

00:24:45.360 and is, as time goes, I see that this fellowship in the movie, this, and they're all volunteers.

00:24:54.360 To fight against the greatest evil, right? Sauron's trying to, who represents the devil. He trying to

00:25:01.720 take over the world that here's where we are, but this fellowship, nine members, they're all volunteers.

00:25:10.940 And over time, I, I began to see our, our group going out every week. We've got our own fellowship

00:25:17.340 in our town. And so there's similarities. I also think Lord of the Rings, and I haven't heard

00:25:23.540 Peter Kreeft or Joseph Pierce talk about it, but I believe he may not have even intended it,

00:25:30.300 but it's very prophetic. Everything about that movie is happening right now. We are living real time.

00:25:37.340 The Lord of the Rings, darkness is enveloping the earth. Our little fellowship in my town,

00:25:42.960 your town, right? We're going out and we're like, Hey, you know, look at the hobbits are not even

00:25:49.040 trained to fight and they're dying to fight in this battle. And I consider myself one of the hobbits,

00:25:55.120 you know, or the little people, the, the lay people that was foremost on their mind. Is it?

00:26:00.920 I just want to fight. I want to fight against this evil. You know, what was Sam's line?

00:26:06.660 There's still some good in this world and it's worth fighting for. So yeah, I mean,

00:26:13.140 there's so many lines and quotes that inspire me from that movie.

00:26:17.760 It is very true too. The hobbits don't know how to fight

00:26:21.780 because the odds against them are so overwhelming. It's almost ridiculous, but that's our situation.

00:26:30.660 Our situation is that you can think about it any way you wish, monetarily, in terms of the leadership

00:26:40.800 that's there, in terms of the smarts that the, the men of evil have in terms of their connections,

00:26:47.820 in terms of their ability to manipulate even governments and the laws and the military and so

00:26:54.560 on. It seems an absolutely insurmountable force against us. And yet we're called like the hobbits

00:27:03.640 to do the little things. We're told and we trust that the Holy Rosary is our weapon. We know that the

00:27:11.780 Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the most important thing, the most powerful thing on earth. It's a beautiful,

00:27:17.040 beautiful comparison. Also, I noticed behind you there, you have St. Joan of Arc and I understand that

00:27:22.580 she was an inspiration for you as well. Yeah. So St. Joan is kind of creeping her way into,

00:27:28.220 into the Knights. For some reason, when I, when I started the Knights, I bought a banner of St. Joan

00:27:35.400 and me and two of the Knights, we ended up going down to the big Rosary rally in DC with the Eucharistic

00:27:42.580 Recession. And I had already known Sister Didi at that point. She was going to introduce me to

00:27:48.780 Father Heilman. And, and, uh, so we go down, we drive all night long. I had just buried my father

00:27:56.520 on my property the day before we left at 11 o'clock at night, um, drove all the way to DC.

00:28:05.380 And afterwards we went up to Sister Didi. We said, you know, we'd like a picture or yeah,

00:28:13.480 you hold, we'll hold the banner in front of you, St. Joan of Arc's banner. We take the picture and then,

00:28:19.840 you know, just this thought came into my mind. Well, give her the banner because she's got the 0.97

00:28:25.060 spirit of St. Joan of Arc, the warrior spirit. I gave it to her. I gave it to her. And, and then,

00:28:32.540 so we don't have the banner anymore. Well, last year I was down at the Divine Mercy Shrine

00:28:38.880 and one of the brothers, Brother John, he came up to me with a bag all wrapped up and he gave me

00:28:46.260 this. He said, don't open it until you get home. And, uh, there was a note in there and it said,

00:28:52.900 this is for the Knights of JP too. St. Joan will be your mascot. Okay. I don't know if I like the term

00:29:02.060 mascot. She's another one of our patrons, but this weekend, past weekend, when I was on retreat,

00:29:08.060 I finally started a book I've been looking at for like a year now, St. Joan of Arc by Mark Twain.

00:29:15.740 Okay. And in the introduction, Mark Twain spent 10 years researching before he wrote this.

00:29:22.060 And in his mind, it's his favorite book and it's his best book. He says, he didn't know our blessed

00:29:28.120 mother cause he wasn't Catholic, but he said nobody had the virtue of St. Joan. But in the intro,

00:29:34.480 one of the people involved in the, in the proceedings, he was quoted as saying that Joan of Arc would be more

00:29:43.660 influential in the later days than in her time in France.

00:29:50.860 So that was the first night I was on retreat and I'm pondering that. And I'm thinking, I'm like,

00:29:57.500 how could that be? I mean, she, she inspired a whole nation of men to go fight against some

00:30:06.240 overwhelming odds. Let's face it, the British army sister Didi, when, when I would text her and I'm

00:30:12.140 like something big's going on, you know, I got this interview with John Henry and I'm nervous,

00:30:16.440 you know, and she, she'd text me back and she'd say, you know, Dan, you were born for these times.

00:30:22.300 And I'm like, where does that come from? Well, that's a quote of Joan of Arc.

00:30:26.300 We're in Rome in November for your conference, the Rome Life Forum. Four of the speakers

00:30:32.540 mentioned that you were born for these times. And the truth is we're all born for these times

00:30:40.020 because God put us here, but she's popping up more and more in that sense. Just that quote is

00:30:46.380 spreading all over. I see it on podcasts all the time. Everybody's using it. And who's behind that

00:30:53.700 quote? St. Joan. I think she's very dear. I mean, I've, I've, I've been thinking about it the last few

00:30:59.660 days. It's like, we know this battle. Our general is a blessed mother, right? But God isn't like jealous of

00:31:08.060 saints. I think Joan has a, a very important role. She inspired men like nobody else.

00:31:15.800 She inspires me, you know? I mean, I grew up with, uh, two movies as a kid. Every year, my family,

00:31:24.960 we got seven, seven kids in my family. Um, we'd watch a sound of music and we'd watch Ingrid Bergman,

00:31:32.980 Jonah Berg. Oh, interesting. Two of my favorite movies. Well, I watched it.

00:31:37.840 I'll watch it every year or twice a year, you know, and St. Joan does inspire men.

00:31:46.420 Indeed. Let's ask that she inspires lots of men to, uh, join the Knights of John Paul II.

00:31:52.100 Uh, once again, if you, you haven't signed up yet for Knights of John Paul II, please go to the link

00:31:56.820 you'll see here in the video and in the description, uh, to sign up for the Knights and encourage people.

00:32:01.960 If there's no Knights chapter in your town yet, encourage your friends to join you, even at least

00:32:07.560 one to start. But, um, it's time to take back your towns, your families for Jesus and Mary. 0.89

00:32:14.460 Finally, um, I wanted to ask you, Daniel, about, uh, your logging accident, uh, in 2021. I think that

00:32:21.640 will also help to explain, uh, how you got to where you're at.

00:32:24.040 There's a couple important points to this. So I was two miles back in the woods,

00:32:29.120 uh, broke my leg, both bones in one leg. Um, took me three hours to get out of the woods.

00:32:36.200 Now the thing with both bones broken in your leg, it was late November. It was late in the day.

00:32:42.860 It was getting cold. Um, so after the accident, I knew my body was in shock. I've had other bad

00:32:49.540 accidents. I knew I was going hyperthermic. It took me forever. You know, I cut off the sleeves of my

00:32:56.620 jacket, tied them together. I made some kind of funny sling so I could crawl on the ground.

00:33:02.020 The pain isn't bad until the bones grind together. Okay. And when the bones grind together,

00:33:09.000 shoots up to about a nine on the, on the pain level scale. And, and what I found was it hurt so bad.

00:33:15.960 I, I, I put my head on the ground. I was crawling anyway. I'd straighten my leg out till the pain

00:33:22.580 subsided. And then I was tempted to just fall asleep. And that's what hypothermia. It's very

00:33:31.340 peaceful. You just fall asleep. This thought would come into my mind. I'm like, I could just fall

00:33:36.360 asleep. I'm pretty sure I'm in a state of grace. I've got a nice life insurance policy. My family

00:33:41.920 will be fine. This thought crept into my mind while I was laying there. And it said, if you die now,

00:33:48.980 you're going to miss the biggest battle the world's ever seen. And I'd pick my head up and I'd say,

00:33:55.620 St. Joseph, St. Michael helped me to keep going. And I keep crawling because my machine was about

00:34:00.120 a hundred yards from me up the hill. And I had to get to that. That probably happened 15, 20 times

00:34:05.960 where I was tempted to give up. I get home three days later from the hospital. You know, it wasn't

00:34:11.520 a, it was during COVID, no bitter visitors, anything. And I couldn't sleep. I'm up at four

00:34:17.400 o'clock in the morning, the first morning. And my future son-in-law, he was engaged to my daughter.

00:34:22.940 He was visiting from New Hampshire. He was in the Marine Corps and they were up early to make breakfast.

00:34:28.880 And this is the important point is I told them the story. He was in the Marine Corps. He said,

00:34:35.960 have you ever heard of the 40 percenters? And I said, no, what's that? He said, well,

00:34:40.900 they've studied for decades in the Marine Corps. And when you're injured bad or tired or

00:34:48.560 whatever the situation is where you're at the point that you want to give up,

00:34:53.760 and this is key, you are only at 40 percent of what you can deal with. I'm like, really? I said,

00:35:04.440 if I would have known that before the accident, I would have been like, you wimp. Let's just get 0.67

00:35:09.520 on with it. You're only at 40 percent. And I tell this to people a lot because I think the times we're

00:35:16.840 heading into, a lot of us are going to find ourselves, I'll probably find myself at that point

00:35:22.760 again. And to have knowledge that you're only at 40 percent and you can keep going. I think that's

00:35:29.940 an important point these days. And, you know, it could be psychological. It could be a number of

00:35:36.240 different things, areas that you're tagged at and you're just like, I'm at the end of my rope me and

00:35:40.940 I can't go. And the reality is you're only at 40 percent. It's an amazing thing what grace does.

00:35:48.260 We are called to be Marines. We're called to be Marines for our Lord and for our Lady. And we

00:35:54.820 all feel ill-equipped for this task. But it's neat that graces are there. You know, Lent is a really

00:36:04.080 neat time of grace. The day before Lent starts, you've been trying to, you know, do some regular

00:36:11.860 fasting or, you know, not eat too much chocolate or, or, or if you're into, you know, having a drink

00:36:18.260 or whatever, not doing so excessively and whatever. It's like so tough. It's almost impossible.

00:36:26.500 Lent comes and it's like, oh yeah, because psychologically you've got to do it. So now you

00:36:32.840 just do it. But what was that? I'm sure there's a grace that I'm absolutely, there's a grace there,

00:36:38.860 but it's also psychological that, you know, now's the time you just got to do it. And there's no,

00:36:43.740 there's no more excuse. You can't just do whatever anymore. So the grace is there. And as the Marine

00:36:52.060 said, you're only at 40%. You can do so much more. And there's so much more doesn't involve all the

00:36:59.820 time adding extra things. If, if you're already full, like my priest said, if, you know, these

00:37:05.860 young parents with tons of kids, you might feel like, you know, you're going absolutely crazy.

00:37:10.800 You don't have time for anything to blow your nose, let alone to, to do some more yet. You can still

00:37:16.320 work on that rosary. And the Knights of John Paul II, I think is such a beautiful movement that takes

00:37:24.440 so little time, but is so rewarding. One aspect before we close, I have to say this one other

00:37:31.260 thing. It really does make you brothers with your brothers who, who engage with you in the Knights.

00:37:40.520 The camaraderie, the aspect of being true brothers in faith, which is, which is actually thicker than

00:37:47.160 blood is real. Even though, as I said, there's not much talk. It's, you know, there is a little bit,

00:37:55.980 but not a whole lot. We're mostly just praying together, walking together. Absolutely beautiful.

00:38:02.360 Daniel Potvin, thank you so much for bringing the inspiration you received from heaven to the world

00:38:09.160 so that many, many of our brothers in faith from all over the world might join, might band together

00:38:17.920 in the Knights of John Paul II. God bless you. And thank you so much, Chuck.

00:38:22.000 And God bless all of you. And we'll see you next time.
