00:00:00.000 but the most beautiful thing of all the mystics said that that in some sense joseph's love for
00:00:06.720 god was so great that it almost took something like a miracle all his life for it not to just
00:00:12.960 consume him totally and make his spirit leave his body that god had preserved him that way
00:00:19.840 but now at the end the lord as a grace was withdrawing that so that what finally killed
00:00:25.120 him wasn't the illness it was his great love for god have you ever wondered about the inside story
00:00:32.740 of the saints what happened behind the scenes what about saint joseph he's the model of fatherhood
00:00:39.580 he's hardly ever mentioned in the scriptures yep we know about the encounter with the angel he's
00:00:44.860 told in a dream to take our lady as his wife and to flee to egypt but after that we don't hear about
00:00:49.900 him at all well he is mentioned when in the scriptures it says is this not jesus the son
00:00:55.060 of joseph whose father and mother we know well we certainly get a glimpse at the silent life of
00:01:02.860 jesus and mary in the passion of the christ but not saint joseph at least not directly there is a scene
00:01:08.260 that jesus builds a table and explains it to his mother so we can infer that he learned carpentry
00:01:13.480 skills from his father have a look
00:01:15.240 yeshua
00:01:37.880 yet the foster father of christ had an integral role
00:02:06.660 in the ex-gay man milo yiannopoulos's decision to leave his homosexual lifestyle behind and lead
00:02:12.720 a chaste lifestyle instead yiannopoulos came on my show and talked about how the consecration to
00:02:18.100 saint joseph was how he committed to a life of chastity check it out i felt as though as an entry
00:02:26.320 point into this way of living that saint joseph is kind of the perfect point of commonality with all
00:02:33.920 the things that have preoccupied me professionally and spiritually as you know the patriarch as the
00:02:40.580 spiritual father as you know the head of the holy family
00:02:43.740 what is it about saint joseph that is so moving to us as we look for a model of masculinity fatherhood
00:02:52.680 especially when it seems he's so absent in the scriptures and even in the adaptations of the life
00:02:58.960 of christ today our guest is dr paul thigman he will be speaking about his new book the life of
00:03:05.820 saint joseph has seen by the mystics where he goes into detail about the private relations that certain
00:03:11.520 mystics have had about the life of saint joseph but first a little background let's start from the
00:03:16.740 beginning god chose saint joseph to love serve and protect his family and entrusted jesus to his
00:03:23.600 fatherhood so even though god could have provided for the mother and child himself he placed his son
00:03:30.720 his only son in a family with a human father now this points to the essential role of fathers in the
00:03:37.700 physical emotional and spiritual development of their children but this role has come under attack
00:03:43.600 and now more than ever it is absolutely necessary for fathers to look to saint joseph as a model
00:03:50.180 father donald calloway wrote that great book about the consecration to saint joseph that milo
00:03:56.520 yannapolis was so affected by he wrote it to draw men closer to saint joseph in a profound journey of
00:04:02.060 spiritual renewal for men in his book consecration to saint joseph the wonders of our spiritual father
00:04:08.940 i've had him on the show as well in the past so check out the link in the description if you missed it
00:04:15.300 to learn more about the consecration saint joseph please visit consecration to saint joseph dot org
00:04:21.740 father seraphino lancetta a very close friend of life site a priest of saint mary's and saint
00:04:28.900 columbus catholic church in gosport uk wrote a reflection on saint joseph's feast day march 19th in
00:04:35.640 2020 he says that the mystery of the relationship between saint joseph and the blessed virgin mary
00:04:41.680 is the source of the whole mystery concerning saint joseph and the way he comes into play in the
00:04:48.180 new testament and in the church he writes and i quote through the espousal with mary joseph can
00:04:55.360 embrace jesus and hold him in his arms joseph is therefore the most perfect icon of mary and
00:05:02.060 consecration with him the ancient motto starts to jesus through mary we find this to be the case as
00:05:09.440 the gospel of matthew says in matthew 1 18 and 19 it introduces joseph first as the husband of mary
00:05:17.480 and then as a just man interestingly saint thomas aquinas discussed justice and its connection to all
00:05:26.220 the virtues in the summa theologica saint aquinas says there must be one supreme virtue essentially
00:05:33.440 distinct from every other virtue which directs all the virtues to the common good and this virtue
00:05:38.940 is legal justice in other words justice directs all of the virtues to the common good so if joseph
00:05:45.720 is a just man he is virtuous and righteous this adds to our model of saint joseph's masculinity and
00:05:53.060 fatherhood because in light of this deeper meaning of a just man we see that a father is called to be
00:05:59.580 strong in all virtues directing them through justice hello life site friends to celebrate the

00:07:29.480 so we can work to piece together a cleaner image of saint joseph but it certainly takes quite a bit of
00:07:39.420 digging dr paul thigpen in his the life of saint joseph as seen by the mystics compiles the private
00:07:47.600 revelations of five visionaries saint bridget of sweden servant of god marina de escobar venerable
00:07:55.100 mary of a greater venerable maria cecilia baggi and blessed anne catherine emmerich what an amazing
00:08:01.720 picture of this great saint develops these revelations shed light on why it is significant
00:08:07.780 to honor and love saint joseph why he is the patron saint of families why he's good with selling your home
00:08:15.680 and he's the patron of the dying it shows us his early life and the growth in virtue his connection
00:08:23.300 to the lineage of david and his meekness and love for handiwork that led him to become a carpenter
00:08:29.700 up next dr paul thigpen this is the john hinder weston show stay tuned
00:08:35.900 paul thigpen welcome to the program great to be here john every thanks for the invitation brother
00:08:47.420 let's begin as we always do at the sign of the cross in the name of the father and of the son
00:08:52.420 and of the holy ghost amen amen so paul thank you first of all for writing a book to give us deeper
00:09:00.920 insight into the foster father of our lord into saint joseph um first of all what inspired you to
00:09:06.700 write the book well first of all saint joseph and i are old friends i hope that doesn't sound too
00:09:11.660 familiar but i came into the church uh 93 so it'll be what 30 years coming soon and um chose him as my
00:09:20.920 my own you know foster father in a sense my patron saint and um gosh our our home here is his name
00:09:27.940 saint joseph refuge rep in the mountains dedicated to him he has helped me and my family through so
00:09:33.080 many situations and um and also with real estate situations what is saint joseph has to do with
00:09:39.100 real estate situations i i know but i think our listeners would really love to hear um because
00:09:45.380 maybe they've heard that before saint joseph something about selling has a right tell us well
00:09:50.080 because he's he's patron of of the home and of marriage and family life um and the home real estate
00:09:57.320 sales especially for for homes are of course that's an important part of a family life where
00:10:01.980 you're going to live and he's known as the patron saint of of uh realtors and real estate deals and
00:10:08.900 don't want to you know i don't know about commercial deals but certainly with homes and even the home
00:10:13.720 we're in now um if i if i can take you know take a minute to talk about this it's not the first time
00:10:18.220 this has happened we were looking for a place up in the mountains to retire and um found a place that
00:10:25.060 looked like it would be you know just right but it was during the code thing there have been lockdowns
00:10:30.000 so we we couldn't visit it at first but as we started to go we knew it had a couple of creeks
00:10:35.560 in the yard it said we're in a rainforest here and i said to our blessed mother you know i don't usually
00:10:41.180 ask for signs and and right now i'm not exactly asking for a sign but if you'd like to to give me
00:10:45.720 some kind of confirmation in addition to the creeks i would i would love to have a spring because the
00:10:51.060 spring is a sign of purity you gave saint bernadette a spring all those things and saint joseph you know
00:10:56.680 if if you'd like to give us a sign we'll we'll just follow our prudence but that the lord gives
00:11:01.520 us if you'd like to give us a sign uh please do and it can be anything just as long as i know it is
00:11:06.240 a sign from saint joe so we get here the house is looking great it's an older home you know it
00:11:11.540 takes some work we're out uh looking at the two creeks in the yard and i say blessed mother
00:11:17.180 you know if you're gonna gonna give us the springs to be a good time and i go walking across the yard
00:11:22.440 and sure enough i'll find a spring more than one i said okay saint joseph i uh i don't know you know
00:11:26.760 if you're gonna give a sign or not but that's okay and uh i went to the edge of the lot where there
00:11:32.240 was a mortared stone pillar that i thought was curious when we first drove up because it it looked
00:11:38.140 like a very fancy mailbox post very old but the mailboxes were were down the road so i went around
00:11:45.260 to look and i'm saying to saint joseph you know if you want to give me a sign be great but if not
00:11:49.000 i just need to know it's a sign from you and i walk around the post it's been the post has been
00:11:54.440 there probably 30 years mortared stones but right in the middle of the mortared stones there was a brick
00:11:59.320 and the brick had been turned sideways so you could see the imprint on the top of the brick
00:12:04.120 and it said in great bold letters saint joe and i said oh my goodness that brick's probably been
00:12:12.400 there 30 years but you had it here so i could see this i think i got the message and we love the
00:12:17.000 home we call it saint joseph's refuge it has a sign hanging on that post now that says saint
00:12:21.660 joseph's refuge your book basically weaves together a life of saint joseph based on uh revelations
00:12:30.200 private revelations from saints very famous saints why don't you explain they're all mystics they're
00:12:35.460 not all you know fully canonized saints but um kind of on on the way probably some of the best
00:12:41.040 known ones would be katherine emmerich of course i think most of our listeners would know her but
00:12:46.440 also um venerable mary of agreda probably most of her of her saint bridget of sweden we've all heard
00:12:53.200 of uh the venerable marina de escobar and venerable maria cecilia bayi they all lived across several
00:13:00.040 centuries uh but all of them um beautiful beautiful visions that you know the church certainly has not
00:13:06.120 condemned but has uh has left to our reading for devotion and there's some folks that like a well
00:13:12.880 you remember the the passion of the christ the movie that um mel gibson uh produced directed for us
00:13:19.600 there were scenes in there that were not from the gospel and everyone kind of knew when they were
00:13:25.560 watching it that uh okay he's he's drawing other things this isn't from the gospel so he's not claiming
00:13:30.840 that these are gospel things but if you knew the visions of these these women you know that in
00:13:36.220 particular mary of agreda and blessed and catherine emmerich uh scenes he drew from their their visions
00:13:42.620 were in that movie so for instance when um our blessed mother and mary magdalene are cleaning up
00:13:49.380 trying to get desperately the precious blood of our lord after the the flagellation off the stones
00:13:55.180 and another person comes in who's claudia punches pilot's wife according to tradition helps them
00:14:00.860 that's a scene from one of the mystics so what i'm saying is that um that kind of gives us a good
00:14:05.980 idea of the kind of thing we're talking about here that it's uh the church you know tells us we don't
00:14:10.940 take these things as gospel we don't take them even as history and we can't because uh they had
00:14:16.500 some of the some of the revelations of different women actually disagreed in certain important details
00:14:21.360 so you know you can't take them as history but what you can do is take them the way you would
00:14:25.880 take those scenes in mel gibson's uh movie is a very powerful sacred drama that brings us more
00:14:33.720 deeply into the gospel stories the same way the meditation methods of saint ignatius of loyola will
00:14:38.980 bring us to the gospel he would say imagine yourself there in the scene put yourself in that scene
00:14:44.820 and use your uh but in my old pentecostal days before my conversion used to call a sanctified
00:14:50.740 imagination use your imagination in a holy way historians might might actually question you
00:14:55.480 on that because um there's so many conflicting versions of history um that you might be able
00:15:00.420 to take them as history as well but nonetheless so tell us about um the the storyline that you've
00:15:10.200 got here where does it take us from with saint joseph are we where are we starting from where
00:15:14.820 are we ending with it's his entire life so starts with talking about his his childhood early
00:15:19.960 childhood um young adult life uh those are those are you know shorter sections but uh then through
00:15:27.100 to his his meeting mary and the betrothal and then all obviously all the events surrounding the nativity
00:15:34.520 that we we remember when we we pray the um mysteries of the rosary and uh and then the hidden
00:15:41.640 years so-called the nazareth where he's there with jesus and mary and then beautifully uh the later
00:15:47.700 years of his life and um and his death and then at the end i have drawn from some of them some of
00:15:54.540 what the regionaries had to say about the special graces that we have in a through devotion to saint
00:16:00.540 joseph is there anything that links all these visionaries together that uh that you've seen i mean
00:16:06.620 the obvious things you know great faith great devotion to our lady great devotion to saint joseph
00:16:11.160 beautiful spiritual insight into the the human person as well as into spiritual realities um
00:16:18.320 as i mentioned in the book they weren't necessarily doctors of science or theology or history but they
00:16:23.900 were definitely doctors of the soul they remind me in certain ways of the ancient monks of the desert
00:16:29.800 when you read their um their lives and their sayings it's not kind of abstract theology and stuff they
00:16:36.340 they have this incredible insight into how a soul works and what makes it this way and what you know
00:16:42.120 what the choices make and that kind of thing and so you get those kinds of insights and all and all of
00:16:46.640 these these visionaries into not just our lady and saint joseph and you know some of jesus but into the
00:16:53.860 people that they interacted with you learn more about you know judas so you learn more about
00:16:58.160 our lady's parents or more about the the people in egypt and what it would have been like to interact
00:17:03.980 with the pagan people there you also have a extremely visual uh imagination not in the sense of making
00:17:10.500 it up but of being able to picture in the mind uh what god was was showing them and saying to them
00:17:16.200 so that you have this uh some of the scenes are just remarkably detailed and um give you give you
00:17:23.480 everything that you would get in mel gibson's movie for instance of the not just the person but
00:17:28.280 everything around just a quick note before we return if you would like to stay up to date on

00:17:50.600 at give.life site news.com and now back to the video give us one of these stories that struck you
00:17:58.980 that that helped you in your devotion i mean this is what private revelation is for it's it's to help
00:18:03.880 us deepen our devotion what is one of these stories of saint joseph unknown largely unknown whatever
00:18:10.840 but that struck you and sort of inspired you to to take this on the way they described the dream
00:18:16.440 that he has where the angel tells him get up right now go and take the mother of the child and the
00:18:23.560 child into egypt because herod's out to kill him and all we know from scriptures he's basically said
00:18:28.600 yes sir to the lord and uh and took them and we don't have any details but what it begins to do is
00:18:35.080 unfold what kind of man would be able to do that what faith would it take what courage would it take what
00:18:40.680 what trust what just integrity that it would take for a man get up in the middle of the night and say
00:18:44.920 we've got to go uh i mean we start thinking about he probably hit the tools of his trade were probably
00:18:50.440 back in nazareth instead of bethlehem he almost certainly wouldn't have known the egyptian language
00:18:57.080 or known people in egypt uh he wouldn't have had a job waiting for him there uh just it's it's a pagan
00:19:03.320 culture they're not probably not real happy about jewish people coming in and just the the dangers of the
00:19:09.480 road and so it would describe the dangers of the road and uh when one of the we actually have an
00:19:14.920 ancient legend about how saint dismas the which is the legendary name or an ancient name given to this
00:19:20.360 thief on the cross who um asked the lord you know for his forgiveness at the end that it's a story that
00:19:29.320 he was actually a thief on the road while they were coming through and that he um he kept the other
00:19:38.200 thieves from harming them and then later on then what happened on the on the cross on the day of
00:19:43.960 the crucifixion was a kind of fitting reward for for his kindness to them now they take it a slightly
00:19:50.120 different direction but it's it's beautiful where um dismas is a boy whose family is among the the
00:19:58.680 thieves and his father is the one who tells the rest of them no don't hurt them because they're going to
00:20:04.520 catch him and sell him to slavery but the boy has leprosy and they have the holy family spend the
00:20:11.640 night with him and while they when they do the mother realizes something's very special about the
00:20:17.080 child and ask if if she could have the the child's bath water but you know jesus bath water to bathe the
00:20:25.960 boy and and mary says yes do and then but you need to preserve it because it's going to be special and
00:20:31.400 then and the boys healed of leprosy so he goes on and you know this account then eventually he
00:20:38.680 he is still a thief but it all comes back around where somehow you know that's because of what
00:20:45.400 happened his faith was already planted in him a long time ago by that miracle but then the rest of
00:20:50.360 the story in egypt is especially appealing to me there we have ancient stories about the you may have heard
00:20:55.320 of uh that when they get to egypt whenever they walk into a place that has the egyptian idols the
00:21:00.440 idols all fall down before jesus and so they have that going on but also the people say what do you
00:21:06.200 get out of here what are you doing you're destroying our temples and that kind of thing but the kind of
00:21:10.440 ill treatment they probably would have had there and yet um in the story jesus still makes friends
00:21:16.680 with little boys and um and begins to win people's hearts over so very touching uh but especially to
00:21:24.040 realize the sacrifices that joseph had to make then and during the silent years back in nazareth how
00:21:31.000 people would have treated them they showed some people saying to him this this boy you got here
00:21:35.560 he should be a rabbi he shouldn't be working in a you know shop like this what do you should be
00:21:40.120 sent him off to school and joseph can't say a word and so he just has to put up with it and uh
00:21:46.040 you're mistreating him by doing this but the after day joseph just he knows what's going on he can't talk
00:21:51.960 about what's what's going on but he's a very patient man now paul you were yourself not a catholic right
00:21:58.440 you were an evangelical yes and and pentecostal mm-hmm and pentecostal so how is it that someone
00:22:05.000 from that background comes to this because this is this is come to the faith and then go right into
00:22:11.720 the very heart of something that would be um very much disconnected from where you are before
00:22:17.240 word before uh tell us a little bit about your conversion story if you will let me say that uh
00:22:22.200 i actually gave a paper back when i was a college professor at the american academy of religion
00:22:27.080 meeting in san francisco about what i call the the pentecostal sacramental imagination and what i meant
00:22:33.000 by that was that in certain ways pentecostals more than other evangelicals have this kind of
00:22:39.720 understanding of the sacramental nature without even realizing what it is so that unlike at least in
00:22:45.720 the old days most other uh protestant christians they believed that body postures were important
00:22:51.880 in worship they would lay hands they would use anointing oil they would pray and expect miracles
00:22:58.520 they would do exorcisms or you know attempt exorcisms things that the rest of the protestant world had
00:23:03.880 rejected but because of their study of the scripture they had embraced that all pointed to the reality to
00:23:10.120 them for them for them that god uses the matter of our world as a vehicle for grace in certain ways
00:23:17.800 and so for folks like that it's not as large a leap into the catholic faith as it might be for some
00:23:25.240 even if they've been taught you know the catholic church is wrong for me um that that helps prepare
00:23:30.680 me of course but uh for me it was a matter of my doctoral program i got a master's in peace all
00:23:36.760 three of my degrees first ones at yale last two at emory um we're basically in historical theology
00:23:43.080 and so that took me back to the church fathers first of all to start studying and that's what
00:23:48.920 did it for me you know saint john henry newman of course has said before that famously that to be
00:23:55.000 deep in history is to cease to be protestant and that's what began to happen to me other things too
00:23:59.640 all kinds of things uh people around me who are catholic they were great witnesses but as i began
00:24:05.480 to read the early fathers especially i thought oh my goodness they're catholic what what can i you
00:24:12.520 know this is not what i thought it was and eventually the time came where it would have been against my
00:24:17.720 conscience not to become catholic it's a struggle nonetheless i would think because you you're sort of
00:24:23.880 life is formed you're an adult you're it's it's still a hard transition so even though you might
00:24:29.480 be convinced at one level that step is still difficult to do my wife wasn't on board at the
00:24:35.720 beginning my children weren't on board along with studying i was i was a writer for a number of
00:24:41.000 evangelical publications um at one time an editor for an evangelical magazine that uh they weren't very
00:24:48.520 happy when they heard that i was thinking about this so i knew you know i would lose things i was
00:24:53.000 ordained as a pastor actually so for a few years i was uh like an associate pastor at a church and i knew
00:24:58.920 i had to give up ordination all those things but it's like the pearl of great price john henry you know
00:25:04.280 once you realize what a what a treasure the church is then if you have to sell all you have to give it
00:25:11.560 to give it then do it you just have to do it and in the end the lord really came through to to
00:25:16.440 convince my wife and brought the children along so we did all come into the church together beautiful
00:25:21.400 beautiful how long ago was that in april it'll be 30 years so it was in 1993 saint joseph is known
00:25:28.360 throughout the catholic world as the patron of the dying um maybe you can tell us from the visions of
00:25:35.960 the saints why is that because we don't get much in the scriptures about that at all yet it's very
00:25:40.760 strong tradition in the church and he's the patron of dying how did it look like from the saints
00:25:45.160 perspective one of the most powerful passages in the book is where i wove together the uh the
00:25:50.840 visions about uh in in years of his life they saw him uh suffering a great deal from physical
00:25:57.560 ailments and um and jesus and mary ministering to him during that time drawing close to him during that
00:26:03.960 time and uh but of course suffering it all with great patience and and uh allowing it to to draw him
00:26:11.720 closer uh to his son and to god the father but what i i really loved at the end is that it shows jesus and
00:26:21.400 and joseph talking privately and uh it's so touching about you know it caused me to choke up it and
00:26:27.880 especially ministered to me because my father died a long time ago now it's it's been 47 years i guess
00:26:35.560 uh had an extended illness at the end of his life and he was a christian and you know neither of us were catholic
00:26:40.600 at the time but he he suffered a great deal but as i like to say he allowed the suffering to refine
00:26:46.520 him instead of define him and lived in in great faith and people would come to see him would tell
00:26:52.440 me i came to to cheer your father up and he cheered me up with his faith and i got the privilege of
00:26:57.640 moving back home my wife and i so that i could be with him during those months and it just brought
00:27:02.200 all that back to me as i was reading about jesus taking care of chosen but the most beautiful thing of
00:27:08.600 all i think was that the mystic said that that in some sense joseph's love for god was so great
00:27:16.520 that it almost took something like a miracle all his life for it not to just consume him totally and
00:27:22.360 and make his spirit leave his body that god had preserved him that way but now at the end the lord
00:27:29.560 as a grace was withdrawing that so that what finally killed him wasn't wasn't the illness it was his great
00:27:36.520 love for god and that it just consumed him until finally his his spirit burst the bonds of his body
00:27:43.320 lovely thing to think about to ponder what that would mean that's a such a strange question jesus
00:27:48.520 healed so many people it seemed like just run of the mill he could do it at whim and he didn't preserve
00:27:57.720 the life of his dad was there some understanding given in the book about that simply that god's plan
00:28:03.000 for joseph was was otherwise um it is interesting that um one of the visionaries uh seemed to to
00:28:10.680 see and to hear the joseph's love and tenderness toward his son was his foster son was so great
00:28:18.840 that it would have been just a horrible thing for him to have to watch his son crucified the way our
00:28:23.560 lady did that it was part of her role to do that she was chosen to do that but it was but he was spared
00:28:29.720 that and that that's one reason why god allowed him to to go into his reward before those years so
00:28:35.960 that's something to think about there's so many thoughts about saint joseph and his life there's
00:28:42.120 a popular song that gets played around christmas that's about mary did you know it's beautiful
00:28:49.320 beautiful song and uh it's actually some uh protestants actually contemplating our lady which
00:28:54.520 is kind of beautiful all by itself but funny enough i think compared to everybody else including us
00:29:04.600 today mary did know a heck of a lot more than we even know now but what's interesting to me as well
00:29:14.520 i've often thought about that saint joseph in that same sort of space and somewhat knowledge as well
00:29:20.680 how did he interact with our lord with our lady he knew he was dealing with god i just it's mind
00:29:32.360 blowing to contemplate um but any thoughts there well it's lovely to say another thing i really love
00:29:37.000 about the story the way that you know they presented it was um the great deference that mary and joseph
00:29:44.600 showed for each other which is such a wonderful role model for for married couples
00:29:49.880 and she's in her heart she's saying he's my husband i need to show him the proper deference
00:29:56.360 for that and he's saying she's the mother of god i've got to show the proper deference for that how
00:30:01.400 do i do that and they're deferring to each other all along there's a uh they they say that there was
00:30:06.520 in the story that you know in the visions that there have been a custom of the time among the
00:30:10.760 jewish people to um that a husband and wife at the beginning are supposed to spend some time studying
00:30:15.720 one another so they can learn better how to deal with each other in a proper righteous way and
00:30:20.760 and differentially and during that time they're kind of doing that and it's uh i mean in some ways
00:30:26.280 it's almost comical the way each one is deferring to the other um so you have things like they show
00:30:32.200 on the way to bethlehem mary's carrying the baby and close to delivery and and they have a donkey for
00:30:37.480 her to ride but she cares so much for joseph that she keeps insisting i let me walk and let you ride
00:30:44.920 for a while no beautiful but joseph just can't stand to do that so what he says is okay you can
00:30:52.760 get off and walk but i'm going to walk with you and the three of us you me and the donkey you're going
00:30:56.600 to walk together there's just he's just trying to figure out how to show proper deference so she's
00:31:01.160 trying to be you know kind and compassionate to him and it's a lovely thing it's a lovely thing to see
00:31:06.200 beautiful beautiful so tell us where can we get your book you can go online to tanbooks.com
00:31:12.920 the publisher is tan books or to your local catholic bookstore march 19th is known in the
00:31:19.000 church as the feast of saint joseph why is that you know to be honest i'm not sure how they settled on
00:31:24.200 that day that's a great question we know why they celebrate may 1st as the feast of saint joseph the
00:31:29.000 worker because it was you know the church's way of saying okay when the communists have celebrated may 1st
00:31:35.160 as though the great day for laborers and um taking trying to take minds and hearts in the wrong
00:31:41.400 direction the church said here's here's the the most wonderful laborer of all and he's the patron
00:31:46.520 of laborers workers so let's celebrate that that day any final thoughts on saint joseph for us on your
00:31:51.320 book give it a chance to soak into your heart if you read it make sure you read the intro talking about
00:31:56.600 who the visionaries were and again what we said before about the the spiritual value of them do like

00:32:13.000 i have given just kind of settle down to your spirit and um and see what you see and what and what you
00:32:19.400 hear and i think you'll come away with a much deeper love for saint joseph and because of that love
