00:00:22.980 Thank you and God bless you.
00:00:25.960 Hello, friends.
00:00:26.760 Do you know how we're always told by the left, oh, those pro-lifers, they are just concerned
00:00:34.220 about the fetus in the womb.
00:00:37.560 And once that baby is born, they don't give it whatever.
00:00:40.900 Well, actually, that's completely untrue.
00:00:43.940 And to prove that, we're going to go to Princess Gloria, who we've been with this past little
00:00:49.680 while, who's been so gracious, who shared with us a beautiful Christmas in Bavaria, the
00:00:54.920 tradition of the faith in Bavaria, right in the face of all the bishops who seem to be
00:00:59.720 going crazy.
00:01:01.100 But also, she proves in a rather unique way that this notion of the pro-lifers, all they
00:01:07.660 care about is the fetus in the womb, is completely wrong.
00:01:12.280 This is the John Henry Weston Show.
00:01:14.040 Stay tuned.
00:01:14.500 Hey, everyone.
00:01:22.140 I have a time-sensitive announcement to share with you.
00:01:24.520 Earlier this month, LifeSite was hit with another online censorship attack, this time
00:01:29.240 on TikTok, after publishing the truth about the corrupt administration in the United States.
00:01:34.180 In fact, LifeSite is still permanently banned on Facebook, and our main YouTube channel was
00:01:38.860 wiped out, which is why we're only on the John Henry Weston Show YouTube channel.
00:01:42.620 So, this is because the prince of this world hates the truth, and we at LifeSite are committed
00:01:48.680 to bringing you the fullness of the truth, even if the globalists and atheists don't
00:01:54.100 want you to hear it.
00:01:55.260 To help us push forward with our truth-telling mission, I urge you to join us during this
00:02:00.320 special Advent and Christmas season with your prayers and almsgiving.
00:02:04.500 Help us at LifeSite build a culture of life for you, your children, your grandchildren, in
00:02:09.240 the face of massive opposition.
00:02:11.220 By uniting your prayers and your giving with us at LifeSite, you promote our pro-life and
00:02:17.540 pro-family mission of building a culture of life around the world.
00:02:20.900 In fact, when you support LifeSite, I urge you to write a prayer in our comment box.
00:02:25.860 It's a perfect way to infuse your prayer and almsgiving with a charity-like LifeSite
00:02:30.440 that you can trust, knowing that we will personally read and pray over all your intentions.
00:02:35.700 We need your prayers and almsgiving now more than ever.
00:02:38.560 We at LifeSite must reach our end-of-the-year fundraising goal, and we have no corporate
00:02:43.680 sponsor, which makes LifeSite's grassroots support from people like you miraculous.
00:02:49.040 So please, as you listen to today's interview, click in the donation link at the top in the
00:02:54.860 description of this video and offer your almsgiving and prayer to LifeSite News.
00:02:58.880 This is the moment we need all of our viewers, even first-time viewers.
00:03:03.680 Join the mission for life, faith, family, and freedom with LifeSite.
00:03:07.540 Join us now with a financial gift of any amount by clicking the first link in the description
00:03:12.560 below and be a force for good in the world.
00:03:15.060 Also, don't forget to pray with your financial gift.
00:03:17.960 Every little bit helps.
00:03:19.600 So thank you and may God bless you.
00:03:21.460 One of the things that the left loves to accuse pro-lifers, and especially pro-life Catholics
00:03:30.700 of, is, oh, you care only about unborn babies.
00:03:34.500 You don't care what happens after they're born.
00:03:36.940 You don't care about poverty.
00:03:38.800 You don't care about the homeless.
00:03:40.480 You don't care about people starving in the streets.
00:03:43.640 And it's always been such a lie.
00:03:46.040 It's nonsense that the people I know who love the poor the most are those who are faithful,
00:03:52.600 who are also pro-life, but they're pro, you know, poverty and everything else.
00:03:56.520 But when I learned about you and got to meet you many years ago now, I learned about what
00:04:05.280 your family tradition has been doing for the poor for, is it a hundred years now?
00:04:12.160 A hundred years, yes.
00:04:13.300 So if you can just explain that, I think it's so beautiful, but it also serves, especially
00:04:19.260 nowadays, to show how false it is, this accusation against pro-lifers, against faithful Catholics,
00:04:26.920 that they don't care about the poor.
00:04:28.040 And it's ridiculous because if you go to the poor countries, the only ones who will really
00:04:33.200 feed the poor and give them health care and schooling and food is the Catholic Church.
00:04:40.520 And of course, we have to say also some evangelicals do very good charity work in the poor countries,
00:04:47.360 India, Africa, South America.
00:04:50.680 But I don't see the George Soros people feeding children and giving money to Christian kindergartens.
00:04:57.600 So they only learn how to play with sex toys.
00:05:00.760 That's what their education is all about.
00:05:03.220 So that's a ridiculous lie.
00:05:05.240 But we know that the prince of the world lies.
00:05:07.660 Now, after the First World War, we had a very, very terrible time because all the men were
00:05:17.420 dead and a lot of widows with small children and very, very harsh winters because also the
00:05:26.100 economy was very bad.
00:05:27.560 And that's when Prince Albert, the great-grandfather of my son Albert, started the soup kitchen for
00:05:36.400 the poor.
00:05:37.320 And it became a huge success.
00:05:40.560 And unfortunately, there are still enough poor people today that we could never close
00:05:47.100 the kitchen for the past hundred years.
00:05:50.360 So last year or two years ago, two years more, no, in 2018, we celebrated a hundred years of
00:06:00.120 soup kitchen for the poor.
00:06:02.240 And the food is very good and it is cooked right there.
00:06:20.800 There is a kitchen there and the room where they eat is the most beautiful and the most precious
00:06:27.260 room of the whole palace.
00:06:29.520 Why?
00:06:30.300 Because it is the baroque dining room, refectory, you call it, for the monks because St.
00:06:39.560 Emaram, this place, was a monastery before, before Napoleon came and expropriated the church.
00:06:47.700 And through this anti-Catholic action, a lot of priests lost their belongings.
00:06:54.060 They were expropriated and sent to the streets.
00:06:56.920 And the government remained with all this church property.
00:07:02.420 And when the Tonotaxis family got expropriated, they had the business, which was the postal service
00:07:11.180 throughout the Holy Roman Empire.
00:07:13.920 And it was in Germany, they basically covered all the states and there were many states.
00:07:21.840 And all the new kings formed by Napoleon, he gave them the title king because he needed
00:07:31.820 soldiers to go and fight the Russians.
00:07:34.500 So he basically said to Bavaria and to Württemberg and to Saxony, if you give me your men to fight
00:07:44.100 Russia, I will make you a king of your realm.
00:07:48.500 And so princes, sovereign princes like my family or other families got expropriated by Napoleon.
00:07:56.480 And then we got forced into a union that nobody wanted.
00:08:06.400 I mean, from today, you could say maybe the union was good.
00:08:09.300 But in those days, an expropriation is never nice.
00:08:12.540 So because we lost the property and the church lost the property, when Tonotaxis lost the business
00:08:21.960 of the postal service, the government just said, OK, we will give you this because it
00:08:29.880 was sitting around with no occupants.
00:08:36.020 They gave the Tonotaxis to pay a remuneration for the postal service.
00:08:42.360 They gave him Regensburg and also the forestry that comes with it.
00:08:46.780 So that's how they ended up being landowners, where before they were entrepreneurs,
00:08:52.620 they were running an operative business, postal service.
00:08:56.480 And what is for you the motivation in terms of, well, you know that they're poor and you want
00:09:03.360 to do it out of the goodness of your heart as well.
00:09:06.060 But is there a spiritual motivation in it for you as well?
00:09:08.640 Well, you have the seven Gaben der Barmherzigkeit.
00:09:12.860 How do you say that in English?
00:09:15.300 The evangelical counsel.
00:09:16.820 Yeah, the evangelical counsel, where you feed the poor, you go and visit the sick,
00:09:24.800 you bury the dead, you counsel the ones that have need counseling.
00:09:32.540 You forgive.
00:09:34.040 These are very, very strict rules.
00:09:36.240 You visit the ones in prison, you help them to get free, which can also mean a religious
00:09:43.080 teaching because some people are in the prison of their own wrong thoughts.
00:09:49.060 So to free somebody can also mean it's not necessarily helping break out of jail, but help him break
00:09:57.780 out of his own jail sometimes.
00:09:59.960 That last aspect of...
00:10:03.960 And feeding the poor.
00:10:05.680 Yeah.
00:10:06.320 But that last aspect you were talking about, about freeing them from their own inner jail,
00:10:11.340 bringing them to the faith and so on.
00:10:14.700 Have you seen that as part of your service to the poor?
00:10:19.660 Have you ever seen people come to faith or appreciation because of they recognizing what you're doing,
00:10:26.400 the faith in it?
00:10:28.080 Have you seen any conversions that way?
00:10:30.780 That is very, very difficult to say because there is always multiple factors.
00:10:36.320 For my personal input, I have two friends that have actually converted to Catholicism.
00:10:43.480 But was that my influence or was it because I introduced them to very good priests and they came to the conclusion
00:10:53.060 it's nicer to be Catholic?
00:10:55.480 That I couldn't say.
00:10:57.080 But of course, the aim is to, through your own life and through your example, that other people get attracted by Christianism.
00:11:07.480 And we are more and more in the times, like in the Roman times, where paganism is around.
00:11:14.040 And so, but some people, even in the Roman times, they admired the Christians because they said they are nice people.
00:11:20.380 They are genuinely nice people.
00:11:22.360 And they're not so selfish.
00:11:24.460 And they are, they are, they're kind.
00:11:26.820 And that is one of the, the things with, with you particularly, you don't hide your Christianity.
00:11:35.120 You don't hide your Catholicism, even though that can make it particularly awkward.
00:11:41.940 One of the, for instance, you're, you're friends with Hillary Clinton.
00:11:45.720 And so that must be kind of awkward.
00:11:50.260 Are you, I don't know if you're able to share any of that, but what has it been like in those kinds of circles?
00:11:56.820 Where you're still Catholic?
00:11:58.620 Will you still make the sign of the cross or will you, you know?
00:12:01.080 Well, first of all, you have to say that, especially Hillary Clinton and also her daughter and her family,
00:12:08.020 they view themselves as good Christians.
00:12:11.100 Okay.
00:12:12.140 They, they, they, they don't, they are not aware that they are, they favor something that is absolutely no go zone for a Christian.
00:12:23.680 They, they don't see that.
00:12:25.060 And I think that's a problem of, of today.
00:12:28.220 But you see, 95% of our lifetime, we spend with people that don't share the same religious views as we do,
00:12:40.020 because we are in a, surrounded in a pagan and a very secular world.
00:12:46.580 And so you also don't want to be too obnoxious and you don't want to be too pushy.
00:12:54.500 I mean, I will always answer questions if I'm asked.
00:12:58.000 And if the conversation evolves, I will use my arguments to persuade people why I believe
00:13:05.580 and why I think it's the best religion there is.
00:13:08.840 When you're dealing with people in other faiths or no faith at all, no faith is also a faith.
00:13:15.440 If you don't believe in anything, you still believe in nothing.
00:13:19.380 And nothing, you believe in nothing, but you believe in nothing.
00:13:23.780 It's also a belief.
00:13:25.680 Yeah.
00:13:25.840 Sometimes it takes more faith to believe in nothing than it does to believe in the truth.
00:13:30.880 Absolutely.
00:13:31.980 Absolutely.
00:13:33.100 And so finally, just a last word with regard to poverty and helping out the poor.
00:13:38.180 Mother Teresa said when she came from India to America, she said, you know, in India, we are very poor.
00:13:47.960 But here there's a greater poverty in that they are lacking faith in Jesus Christ.
00:13:54.260 What do you think when you heard her say that?
00:13:56.960 She's absolutely right.
00:13:58.300 If you look at the small villages in the German-speaking world now, we have a lot of priests that come from Africa and India.
00:14:07.000 They are sent to us to missionarize us.
00:14:09.760 And that's really amazing because, of course, we have been aborting our own children since 60 years.
00:14:19.120 Of course, we don't have enough offspring to create priests.
00:14:23.840 That's why we have to bring them in from the other countries.
00:14:27.540 But that's a good thing because it shows them that the first world is in need.
00:14:33.660 It has been so awesome to be with Princess Gloria, to be in Bavaria for that little stint while we were there.
00:14:43.720 We wanted to bring you hopefully what we did, joyful and holy celebration of Christmas that you could enjoy and watch it being played out in a traditional fashion.
00:14:54.360 And also to resurrect the image of Germany, which has been so tainted by the unfaithfulness of so many of their bishops.
00:15:06.220 As you could see, there are still faithful and holy Catholics in Germany fighting for the faith.
00:15:13.720 It's been our great pleasure, privilege to bring that to you.
00:15:18.060 And we couldn't have done that without your support.
00:15:20.040 May God bless you all, and I hope you continue to have a happy and holy Christmas, which just, by the way, started yesterday.
00:15:29.180 This is John Henry Weston for LifeSite News.
