00:00:00.000 In pro-life news this week, the Supreme Court decision allowing the Texas heartbeat law
00:00:05.180 to stand is creating a stir with some companies like Uber and Lyft, the popular taxi alternatives
00:00:11.660 trying to undermine the law, and even a bomb threat against the Texas pro-life group.
00:00:18.180 But the law is estimated to have already saved the lives of over a thousand babies, and it
00:00:24.120 has led to the courts approving other pro-life laws in other states.
00:00:27.980 Meanwhile, there are pro-life victories in England and India too.
00:00:32.300 This is the John Henry Weston Show.
00:00:34.140 Stay tuned.
00:00:53.760 Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross.
00:00:55.740 In the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
00:01:00.420 Amen.
00:01:01.900 The Texas heartbeat abortion law, which basically bans abortion after six weeks' gestation,
00:01:07.460 was able to go into effect September 2nd after the Supreme Court of the United States ruled
00:01:13.160 5-4 to reject an emergency request to block the law by abortion activists.
00:01:19.160 Instead of having the state prosecute violators, it exclusively empowers private citizens to
00:01:25.880 bring civil suits against abortionists or those who aid or abet abortions, punishable by a minimum
00:01:32.340 of $10,000 in statutory relief per abortion.
00:01:37.220 Texas Right to Life set up a website called Pro-Life Whistleblower, where concerned Texans can
00:01:43.480 anonymously report abortionists who commit abortions after finding a heartbeat or without testing
00:01:49.220 for a heartbeat, as well as anyone who would aid or abet such an abortion.
00:01:55.500 Now, the web hosting giant GoDaddy, which is of course famous for originally advertising
00:02:01.700 with scantily clad women, kicked Texas Right to Life off their platform, off their servers.
00:02:08.380 And if you want to make your views about that known to GoDaddy, you can call GoDaddy at their
00:02:13.560 24-7 support line, 480-463-8390, and tell them what you think.
00:02:21.540 Responding to GoDaddy's nastiness, Seth Dillon, the CEO of the popular Christian satire site,
00:02:27.300 the Babylon Bee, said he will be donating $20,000 to Texas Right to Life.
00:02:33.700 You know, indeed, abortion activists are not very happy with the heartbeat law.
00:02:40.260 So much so that one of them sent in a bomb threat to Texas Right to Life.
00:02:44.460 Texas Right to Life was forced to evacuate its Houston headquarters late on Friday over an emailed
00:02:50.260 bomb threat. Police were called around 10.15 a.m. September 10th after receiving the bomb threat,
00:02:56.140 and while the police were on the scene, a postal worker delivered a suspicious package.
00:03:02.000 Officers immediately evacuated the building and called in the Houston Police Department's
00:03:06.560 bomb squad. The bomb squad evaluated the package with an x-ray and determined the contents were
00:03:12.200 not harmful. Meanwhile, the popular taxi alternatives Uber and Lyft have shown themselves to be
00:03:21.080 abortion activists. Both companies have promised to pay the legal fees for drivers who are sued under
00:03:29.500 Texas's new law, the new heartbeat law. Lyft CEO Logan Green also said that he'd donate a million
00:03:38.820 dollars to Planned Parenthood. Uber CEO Dara Kazawali echoed Green's commitment to paying the fines of
00:03:48.340 those Uber and Lyft drivers who aid and abet criminal abortions, by the way, driving people to their
00:03:55.180 illegal abortions. Uber has also canceled a driver for refusing to drive a woman to an abortion facility.
00:04:03.660 So if you ever wanted a motivation to get back to regular taxi service, you've got it now.
00:04:08.740 The CEO and co-owner of a video game development company called Tripwire Interactive has also been
00:04:17.060 forced out of his job after he made comments on Twitter in support of the Texas law. John Gibson wrote
00:04:23.780 on September 4th on Twitter, quote, proud of U.S. Supreme Court affirming the Texas law banning abortion
00:04:30.280 for babies with a heartbeat, end quote. He added that, as an entertainer, I don't get political
00:04:36.700 often, yet with so many vocal peers on the other side of the issue, I felt it was important to go on
00:04:42.960 the record as a pro-life game developer. Gibson stepped down as CEO of Tripwire Interactive as of
00:04:50.860 September 6th, two days after the tweet, according to the company, and he co-founded the Georgia-based
00:04:57.320 corporation in January 2005. Not surprisingly, the Biden administration has launched a federal lawsuit
00:05:06.140 Thursday against Texas over the law, claiming it violates both federal law and long-standing
00:05:13.120 judicial president. I guess he thinks he knows better than the Supreme Court. Well, in a press scrum,
00:05:18.360 Biden lambasted the Texas law, suggesting it is un-American. Have a look.
00:05:24.540 The most pernicious thing about the Texas law, it sort of creates a vigilante system
00:05:32.840 where people get rewards to go out to, anyway. And it just seems, I know this sounds ridiculous,
00:05:42.240 almost un-American, what we're talking about. But the heartbeat legislation in Texas has also had
00:05:50.900 positive feedback around the nation, as several states have already signed similar legislation.
00:05:57.640 On Thursday, Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma celebrated nine new pro-life laws, including a
00:06:04.640 heartbeat bill, with a ceremonial bill signing. Governor Stitt was unapologetic about the pro-life
00:06:11.380 direction of his state, saying, and I quote,
00:06:13.820 quote, I promised Oklahomans that I would sign every piece of pro-life legislation that came across
00:06:19.860 my desk, and I am proud to keep that promise. Governor Stitt added, and I quote again,
00:06:26.520 as a father of six, it is an honor to be the most pro-life governor in the country,
00:06:31.200 and I will always step up to protect the lives of unborn children, end quote.
00:06:36.960 And the Supreme Court win has already led to wins in other courts as well. The Seventh Circuit Court
00:06:45.260 of Appeals on September 8th ruled in favor of Indiana's bid to enforce several pro-life laws,
00:06:52.580 including a prohibition on chemical abortion, that's chemical abortion drugs being dispensed
00:06:58.480 through telemedicine, as well as establishing health and safety standards for abortion facilities.
00:07:04.460 Two of the three federal judges on the panel ruled that Indiana would likely succeed in its legal
00:07:11.860 battles and overturned a stay or pause on the enforcement of laws, some of which have been
00:07:18.180 on the books for years. But rulings from the courts have not all been positive. On Tuesday,
00:07:26.960 outside the United States, in Mexico, the Mexican Supreme Court struck down several articles that
00:07:33.500 protected unborn life in the penal code of the Mexican state of Coahuila, potentially opening
00:07:40.740 the door to legal abortion throughout Mexico. Currently, elective abortion is legal in Mexico City
00:07:46.860 and in the states of Oaxa, Hidalgo, and Veracruz until the unborn child is 12 weeks of old. Since 2019,
00:07:55.280 abortions for reasons of rape have been permissible throughout the country,
00:07:58.500 though elective abortion has remained illegal. Coahuila is the most recent state to change its
00:08:06.540 tune on the legality of abortion, although decriminalized does not make the procedure
00:08:11.820 legal per se. Coahuila shares a border with the American state of Texas, by the way.
00:08:19.580 So Mexico, of course, is home to the famous apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe,
00:08:23.860 who appeared almost 500 years ago to St. Juan Diego, in what is now Mexico City. Our Lady of Guadalupe
00:08:31.640 is the patroness of the unborn, and historically, Mexico, a devout Catholic nation. The abortion
00:08:39.960 debate, however, is very contentious in Mexico, even among Mexicans who do not practice the faith.
00:08:46.140 Almost immediately after the pro-abortion decision, a major earthquake struck near the port of Acapulco.
00:08:53.860 And the quake was measured at a 7.1 magnitude on the Richter scale, and aftershocks of it were felt
00:09:00.780 as far inland as Mexico City. Over a million people were left without power for a time,
00:09:07.320 and so far, at least one person has been killed as a result. Meanwhile, in India, the High Court of
00:09:14.780 the Indian state of Kerala dismissed a mother's request to abort her 31-week-old baby, stating that,
00:09:21.920 quote, right to life of an unborn cannot be treated differently from a born child. And this is
00:09:28.980 quoting directly from the ruling of the Indian court, in the absence of any threat to the life
00:09:34.300 or health of the mother, the reproductive choice of the mother, which is a facet of the fundamental
00:09:40.680 right guaranteed to her under Article 21 of the Constitution, will have to give way to the right
00:09:46.520 of the unborn to be born. Article 21 of the Indian Constitution secures two rights, the right to
00:09:53.420 life and the right to personal liberty. The ruling says, quote, the unborn has life from the stage it
00:09:59.920 transforms into a fetus. If the unborn has life, though it is not a natural person, it can certainly
00:10:07.340 be considered as a person within the meaning of Article 21 of the Constitution, for there is absolutely
00:10:13.120 no reason to treat an unborn child differently from a born child. End quote. And speaking of good pro-life
00:10:20.900 news internationally, the UK held its annual March for Life on Saturday, gathering around 4,000 pro-life
00:10:28.300 activists who marched through the streets of London with the slogan, Life from Conception, No Exception.
00:10:35.360 The march ended in prayer with a blessing from Bishop Swabek of the Diocese of Lancaster,
00:10:43.520 and I'll sign off on this happy note for Wednesday, September 15th. May God bless you.
00:10:51.040 The river is full of little drops of rain, and each one of you, each contribution,
00:10:56.080 is a little drop that's making that river great. So whoever you are, wherever you're from,
00:11:01.760 whatever your faith, whatever holds your life together, whatever experiences you've been
00:11:06.440 through, and whatever awaits us along the road, let's value this moment.
00:11:15.980 Abortion's the number one issue for today because the right to life is the most fundamental human
00:11:20.240 right of all. So if you're not going to argue for the right to life for everyone, then all
00:11:24.640 other human rights are extinct. In a society where unborn babies are not valued, how can you
00:11:31.740 really value anything else?
00:11:34.760 As we abolished the death penalty for the guilty, why do we still have it for the innocent?
00:11:43.240 Today I have come to support March for Life. I have been there, I've been through it,
00:12:02.920 and I know how difficult it is. Sometimes you need somebody to let you know that you can do it,
00:12:07.780 no matter how difficult it is. Abortion is not giving an opportunity for another life to live.
00:12:14.020 You don't know what that child is going to be. No reason is good enough to have the abortion.
00:12:18.840 Every reason is good enough to give it a life.
00:12:21.560 I'm here today knowing that it's a pregnant woman walking down the street, sees the March,
00:12:27.740 and she's considered an abortion. She might hear us, she might see us, she might see one particular
00:12:33.780 banner, the banner I saw, and she might cancel her abortion.
00:12:37.660 In years to come, when people look back with clarity at this number one issue,
00:12:52.400 the greatest human rights violation of all time, and they ask, how could there be so many
00:13:03.380 bystanders? Let no one be able to say, that among those bystanders was you or me?
00:13:20.520 Hi, this is John Henry Weston, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of LifeSite News.
00:13:25.040 I'm coming to you today because we want to be sure that we're communicating clearly with you,
00:13:31.300 our loyal followers. Things are really heating up, as I'm sure you can see. Christians,
00:13:37.180 conservative truth-tellers are being targeted, are being banned from social media platforms like
00:13:43.120 Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram at an alarmingly fast rate. They are attempting to
00:13:49.760 suppress any narrative that does not fit that of the mainstream media. We knew this day would come.
00:13:56.280 We have been warning everyone who would listen and attempting to build up alternative platforms
00:14:02.160 to continue to reach you. We have established ourselves on all sorts of platforms I'm going
00:14:07.980 to explain in a minute, but the most important thing to do is come direct to LifeSiteNews.com,
00:14:13.660 because there we will always be. But we've also established ourselves on platforms like Parler
00:14:19.680 and MeWe, and our videos can be found on Rumble as well. We would love to see each of you on those
00:14:26.400 platforms too, as they are not censoring or suppressing the truth that we are sharing every
00:14:31.500 single day. More than these alternative social media platforms, we highly encourage you to subscribe
00:14:37.960 to our email newsletter. We have really built up a large list of loyal readers on our email marketing
00:14:44.280 platform. And we have prepared several backup plans for, well, I want to say if, but it's really when
00:14:51.460 we are removed from our current platform as well. Additionally, I really encourage you, as I said
00:14:58.140 before, to make it a regular habit to go directly to LifeSiteNews.com. Make it your homepage. While all of
00:15:06.080 these different platforms are an excellent way to curate your news, going directly to our website means
00:15:12.060 that you will never encounter any censorship or sudden loss of LifeSiteNews reporting. Here's the
00:15:18.040 thing. We will never stop sharing the truth. We founded this organization with the mission to be
00:15:25.080 the life, family, and culture source for men and women who seek to know the truth. We have established
00:15:31.960 a track record of honest reports, and this will never stop, even with censorship happening around the
00:15:39.340 globe. Again, I'm encouraging you to join us on Parler, MeWe, Rumble, and on our email list. You can find
00:15:47.400 all the direct links in the description of this video. May God bless you and keep you, and we are so
00:15:53.980 thankful that you've chosen to follow and support LifeSite News. I'm John Henry Weston, co-founder and
00:16:00.180 editor-in-chief of LifeSite News.
