The most incredible thing we have here on earth is the presence of Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist. We don't often hear it, but we just had an incredible retreat from a bishop in Canada, his name is Bishop Scott McKaig. He is the Bishop for the Military in Canada. And what he did was he quoted some of the greatest saints on the Eucharistic. And it was such an education.

00:00:00.000 As they rounded a corner east of Bellevue, they all saw the host suspended in midair beside the
00:00:07.600 highway. Beautiful rays of colored light shone from them. Even before the car had stopped,
00:00:14.440 Father leaped out from the car and ran towards this astonishing sight. Sergeant Parsons of the
00:00:21.080 RCMP was right behind them. Father fell to his knees in adoration, overcome with joy and wonder.
00:00:28.380 Sergeant Parsons did likewise and landed in a pool of mud.
00:00:39.600 The most incredible thing we have here on earth is the presence of Jesus Christ in the Most Holy
00:00:47.160 Eucharist. We don't often hear it, but we just had an incredible retreat from a bishop in Canada. His
00:00:53.540 name is Bishop Scott McKaig. He is the bishop for the military in Canada. I remember Bishop Scott
00:01:00.100 McKaig when he was just Father Scott McKaig. He would give these homilies. I always described them
00:01:04.620 as a punch in the gut. You left going, oh my goodness, I want to be holy. And he hasn't changed
00:01:11.040 after many, many years. And he came and he gave a three-day mission on the Eucharist, on attaining
00:01:20.380 Eucharistic amazement. And what he did, really what he did was he quoted some of the greatest saints
00:01:28.680 on the Eucharist. And it was such an education. It was so fantastic. But we've been playing short clips
00:01:36.960 of it at LifeSite. You might have seen some of them already. I wanted to bring them all together
00:01:41.180 here because what it is, in addition to the great quotes from these saints, Bishop Scott's own love
00:01:51.000 for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament comes out. And you can see that so well. And I know most of us are
00:01:57.020 too busy to listen to all three talks comprising over three hours plus the homilies and so on. So I
00:02:03.000 wanted to give you my highlights. This is The John Henry Weston Show. Stay tuned.
00:02:09.260 As you know, LifeSite News has been at the forefront of exposing the Great Reset and the
00:02:13.960 globalist forces that seek to subvert our world, from the Vatican to the highest halls of government
00:02:19.240 to the local Planned Parenthood. And that's why LifeSite News is sponsoring the 2023 Crusader Night
00:02:26.480 Congress to fight back against the anti-life cabal that seeks to control all of our lives.
00:02:33.000 This event has a theme that the world desperately needs. The theme is for altar, culture, and trade.
00:02:40.860 And what does that mean? Well, it means making the social kingship of Christ the center of family
00:02:47.260 and individual life to restore Christendom. It means making deeper connections between Catholic
00:02:54.080 families. It means restoring and rebuilding Christendom in all sectors of society. It means reclaiming
00:03:02.760 North America for the culture of life. The 2023 Crusader Night Congress is being held
00:03:09.420 by American patriot and faithful Catholic Mike Church. The dates are May 5th, 6th, and 7th in the heart
00:03:18.040 of Louisiana's Cajun country. To learn all the details and register to attend, head on over to

00:03:35.520 LifeSite News is proud to sponsor this event, and I sincerely hope you can attend.
00:03:41.740 Let me first start off with what he talked about around Canada, because of course, that's where I am.
00:03:48.120 And many people don't know it, but there's a great saint in Canada by the name of Dina Belanger,
00:03:56.060 and she was actually called by her Lord a Canadian Little Therese, which is just amazing for all those
00:04:04.720 of you who love Little Therese. And she had this beautiful saying about the Blessed Sacrament,
00:04:13.320 and if people recognized where the truth that Jesus was truly present there, they would have to build
00:04:20.080 ramparts to defend the Blessed Sacrament, because people would be coming night and day. Watch for
00:04:25.860 yourself. One of our own Canadian saints, Blessed Dina Belanger, from the 1920s, Jesus called her
00:04:36.880 my Canadian Little Therese, a mystic of the First Order, just a beautiful, beautiful soul. If you ever
00:04:45.580 get the chance to visit her tomb outside of Quebec City, I encourage you to go. It's very precious,
00:04:51.780 very special. This is something she wrote. If souls ununderstood the treasure they possess in the Divine
00:05:00.960 Eucharist, it would be necessary to encircle the tabernacles with the strongest ramparts. For in the
00:05:09.960 delirium of a devouring and holy hunger, they would press forward themselves to feed on the bread of angels.
00:05:19.660 The churches. The churches would overflow with adorers, consumed with love for the Divine Prisoner, no less by night than by day.
00:05:34.660 Beautiful, isn't it? She grasped the reality. Jesus had impressed upon her heart the truth of His presence.
00:05:47.660 Another incredible concept that He brought out was that Jesus has told the saints in locutions
00:05:56.660 and visions that He waits there in the Blessed Sacrament for us day and night, and He feels so abandoned
00:06:04.660 because we so often don't go. Have a listen.
00:06:10.660 Our Lord's words to Blessed Alexandrina DaCosta. She is a mystic beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2004. She divulged, or Jesus divulged to her, how profoundly people's forgetfulness of His presence in the Blessed Sacrament, how much that pierces His heart. He told her this.
00:06:35.660 I remain in the tabernacle day and night, waiting to give my life and my grace to all who would visit me. But so few come. I am so abandoned. So lonely. So offended.
00:07:04.660 But even beyond that, there is this understanding of Jesus, the Lord Himself, can be consoled by us.
00:07:17.660 So when we go to see Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, when we go to pay our respects to Him, when we go just to sit in His presence and love Him, even if we don't know what words to say, He is consoled by our presence. That sounds incredible. Listen.
00:07:35.480 But what really took me by surprise is how often He tells the saints that when we come before Him, He is consoled by us.
00:07:46.480 That we bring healing and consolation to His heart by our love. That Jesus wounded in so many ways, so pierced by the loss of souls, by the turning of people and nations away from Him, by blasphemies.
00:08:14.480 And sacrilege. And so many graves, sins that are wounding these people that He loves so much, that when we come to Him before the Blessed Sacrament, His heart is consoled.
00:08:32.480 That He is also here because He wants to love so much, that He is also here because He wants to be loved by us.
00:08:38.480 And then He gives a quote from Mother Teresa. And I love this one because this one is for all of you economists out there.
00:08:45.920 All of you who are so good at calculating things. I've often talked about people who are good at calculating things.
00:08:52.300 You know, they're willing to risk something now or have that delayed gratification to get a better prize later.
00:08:59.620 Those are the people who make investments and work really hard so that they can have a great time later on and they know they're working toward that goal.
00:09:07.760 I always say of those people, wow, your only investment that you need to make here on earth then is the eternal investment.
00:09:13.660 Because compared to all eternity, you know, life on earth is but a blip.
00:09:18.080 And so you're working for that blip to see where you can get in heaven.
00:09:21.720 And if you're aiming just to get in the door, you're not doing that good because there's all sorts of levels up there that you can work for.
00:09:27.140 But Mother Teresa gave a comment like this about the Blessed Sacrament.
00:09:32.680 It was about how you invest just a little and you get your reward for all eternity gets increased.
00:09:41.580 Listen for yourself.
00:09:46.180 But Mother Teresa kind of basically said, every single moment you spend before the Blessed Sacrament in love increases the glory you will have in heaven forever.
00:09:57.140 But it changes you.
00:10:02.700 And Jesus is the divine lover and he will never be outdone in generosity.
00:10:07.640 You give him 10 minutes, he will give you an increase in glory forever.
00:10:13.380 And next, let me take you to this clip.
00:10:19.140 And I know it's a little bit longer, but you've got to listen to it.
00:10:21.260 This is beautiful.
00:10:22.140 This is a miracle, a Eucharistic miracle that happened in Canada.
00:10:26.160 You know, I've lived here all my life, obviously, and I haven't heard of it.
00:10:30.080 It's in a tiny place called Cowley in Alberta.
00:10:34.260 And this story is so fantastic, you've got to hear it for yourself.
00:10:37.560 And I'm sure this place is hard to find.
00:10:39.980 It's Canada, after all.
00:10:41.200 And it's a vast land.
00:10:42.880 But in Alberta, in this tiny town, was a tiny church.
00:10:47.420 You know what?
00:10:48.320 Let Bishop Scott tell you this story.
00:10:49.920 You've got to hear this one.
00:10:50.680 And then one morning, a couple years later, he came to the church in the morning for Mass
00:10:58.120 on the Feast of Corpus Christi, and he noticed that the front door was hanging off its hinges.
00:11:03.600 He hurried in and gazed at a scene of great destruction.
00:11:06.320 The walls were in shambles, the statues destroyed, and then he noticed the tabernacle had been split open
00:11:12.220 and the consecrated hosts were scattered down the main aisle.
00:11:16.520 One by one, he gathered them up, counting each one.
00:11:19.860 They were all there, except the large benediction host, which he could find nowhere.
00:11:27.320 Eventually, they contacted the local RCMP, and they started to help him.
00:11:34.340 The names of all the people are here in this article.
00:11:37.340 The name of the priest was Father Harrington.
00:11:40.940 They drove the highways looking.
00:11:43.400 They were trying to figure out.
00:11:44.680 Eventually, they figured they knew who committed this crime, who vandalized the church.
00:11:49.860 It was two young men, and they were breaking into the tabernacle looking because they thought there would be gold there.
00:11:56.280 Anyway, they drove down the highway, and because they didn't want anything that would get them in trouble,
00:12:03.080 they just took the large benediction host and tossed it out the window.
00:12:06.580 And it had been raining heavily, and so the chance of finding them host again was almost nothing, and it had probably been dissolved and disappeared into the soil.
00:12:19.000 But these two young men, when they realized what they had done, they had been told, they were non-Catholics, that this was something precious and sacred.
00:12:28.140 They finally, their conscience got to them, they fessed up, and they got into the police car with the officer and the priest, and they went looking for it.
00:12:36.060 And I'll take this up, I'll read just this part.
00:12:40.320 Touched by his explanation, they began to show remorse and offered to help find it.
00:12:46.360 One admitted to having discarded it through the truck window just before the police took them in custody.
00:12:52.460 He didn't know where it was, but he knew it was incriminating evidence.
00:12:55.680 The rain had hardly stopped when they all piled into the police cruiser, the two suspects still handcuffed.
00:13:04.260 Father calculated that if the host had been dropped, as these two men had said, the search parties would surely have found it if the rain had not dissolved it.
00:13:13.220 It was about six o'clock that evening when they arrived at the spot.
00:13:16.980 The sky was clearing, and there was a bit of blue in the west.
00:13:19.940 As they rounded a corner east of Bellevue, they all saw the host suspended in mid-air beside the highway.
00:13:30.080 Beautiful rays of colored light shone from them.
00:13:33.460 Even before the car had stopped, Father leaped out from the car and ran towards this astonishing sight.
00:13:40.960 Sergeant Parsons of the RCMP was right behind them.
00:13:44.500 Father fell to his knees in adoration, overcome with joy and wonder.
00:13:49.940 Sergeant Parsons did likewise and landed in a pool of mud.
00:13:55.200 Father stood up and reached for the host.
00:13:58.280 It looked as white and as fresh as the day he had consecrated.
00:14:01.880 As he touched it, they heard,
00:14:05.240 Father Gino, please take me back to Cowley.
00:14:10.460 And then the story goes on.
00:14:12.760 This RCMP officer and the officer that was with him were quite obviously converted.
00:14:20.440 And the little church started to overflow with parishioners.
00:14:25.100 Just a quick note before we return.

00:14:49.320 And now, back to the video.
00:14:52.860 Now, here's something really cool.
00:14:54.940 I know many of you know J.R. Tolkien.
00:14:58.820 Now, you know him for Lord of the Rings.
00:15:01.720 Some of you may know him for more of his works,
00:15:03.720 but everybody knows him for Lord of the Rings.
00:15:06.840 But did you know he was a Catholic?
00:15:08.700 And even if you did know he was a Catholic,
00:15:11.360 did you know how devoted he was to the Blessed Sacrament?
00:15:15.300 Got to listen to this.
00:15:16.240 This was J.R.R. Tolkien's advice to his own son.
00:15:21.780 I'd just like to leave you with these words from J.R.R. Tolkien.
00:15:27.520 And if you know, he is the author of the Lord of the Rings trilogy
00:15:31.000 and is a very devout and faithful Catholic.
00:15:33.840 These are the last words I want to leave you in the mission.
00:15:36.840 And I pray with all of my heart that you take them deep into your own heart.
00:15:42.540 He wrote to his son, Christopher Tolkien, these words.
00:15:45.300 Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated,
00:15:52.220 I put before you the one great thing to love on earth,
00:15:58.260 the Blessed Sacrament.
00:16:01.240 There you will find romance, glory, honor, fidelity,
00:16:09.440 and the true way of all loves upon earth.
00:16:14.340 There's a lot of debate around transubstantiation.
00:16:19.980 Is it real?
00:16:20.460 Even though, as I've said in one of my former videos,
00:16:24.280 you know, it seems so evidently clear from what Jesus said
00:16:27.920 at the end of John 6, for instance,
00:16:30.060 and then repeated throughout the scriptures at the Last Supper narrative.
00:16:33.740 Then Paul repeats it in Corinthians and so on.
00:16:36.460 But nonetheless, do you understand that transubstantiation was believed by the early church?
00:16:43.460 In fact, how early, you might ask?
00:16:45.520 Well, Bishop Scott points out that Ignatius of Antioch
00:16:50.200 was very, very clear about the truth of Jesus' real presence and the Blessed Sacrament.
00:16:55.280 Ignatius of Antioch, who was ordained by St. Peter the First Pope, the Apostle, Peter,
00:17:01.940 and was a disciple of St. John the Evangelist.
00:17:05.500 Oh, that Ignatius of Antioch, right from the beginning.
00:17:08.640 Yep, that one.
00:17:09.820 Have a listen.
00:17:12.120 What do they say?
00:17:14.080 Well, here's Ignatius of Antioch,
00:17:16.560 a contemporary and disciple of John the Apostle.
00:17:20.760 We believe, there's good reason we believe he was ordained a bishop by St. Peter in Antioch.
00:17:26.500 He says,
00:17:27.760 I have no taste for corruptible food,
00:17:30.880 nor for the pleasures of this life.
00:17:33.400 I desire the bread of God,
00:17:35.340 which is the flesh of Jesus Christ,
00:17:39.180 who was of the seed of David,
00:17:40.640 and for drink I desire his blood,
00:17:43.200 which is love incorruptible.
00:17:46.140 Then he goes on.
00:17:47.340 Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions
00:17:51.200 on the grace of Jesus Christ,
00:17:53.680 which has come to us,
00:17:54.980 and see how contrary their opinions are
00:17:57.720 to the mind of God.
00:18:00.060 They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer
00:18:03.160 because they do not confess that the Eucharist
00:18:06.340 is the flesh of our Savior, Jesus Christ,
00:18:10.040 flesh which suffered for our sins
00:18:12.540 and which the Father in his goodness raised up again.
00:18:15.480 And here's a really cool concept
00:18:19.180 from the great St. Augustine,
00:18:21.560 whom everybody knows and loves.
00:18:24.020 He talked about
00:18:25.200 Jesus being all-powerful,
00:18:28.700 all-wise,
00:18:30.340 and all-rich,
00:18:31.640 because he's God.
00:18:33.480 But what does that mean
00:18:35.220 in terms of the Blessed Sacrament?
00:18:37.040 Listen to this.
00:18:39.480 St. Augustine put it this way.
00:18:42.420 I love this quote.
00:18:43.700 This is what he said about the Eucharist.
00:18:48.600 Although God is all-powerful,
00:18:52.320 he is unable to give more.
00:18:56.280 Though supremely wise,
00:18:59.560 he knows not how to give more.
00:19:05.680 Though vastly rich,
00:19:08.580 he hasn't anything more to give.
00:19:11.200 Wow.
00:19:13.620 Although God is all-powerful,
00:19:15.640 he is unable to give more.
00:19:17.980 Though supremely wise,
00:19:20.240 he doesn't know how to give more.
00:19:22.960 Though vastly rich,
00:19:24.880 he doesn't have anything more to give.
00:19:28.620 Finally,
00:19:30.300 my favorite thing
00:19:32.880 that was said
00:19:33.840 in the whole retreat
00:19:35.440 was
00:19:37.300 what was said
00:19:38.440 about
00:19:39.120 St. Catherine of Siena.
00:19:42.500 It's an incredible thing.
00:19:44.980 She was
00:19:45.540 recorded by
00:19:47.040 the
00:19:47.960 sisters who were with her
00:19:49.520 as she was in ecstasy
00:19:50.940 in front of Jesus.
00:19:51.760 She saw her Lord in visions.
00:19:53.440 And she had her arms
00:19:54.640 outstretched,
00:19:55.680 cruciform.
00:19:57.800 And
00:19:58.240 she described her Lord.
00:19:59.920 She said,
00:20:00.480 That's my paraphrase
00:20:10.900 because
00:20:11.380 it's stuck in my head
00:20:13.440 and it's helped me
00:20:14.740 in meditation
00:20:15.460 to think
00:20:16.900 about how much love
00:20:18.340 Jesus has for me.
00:20:19.580 It's funny, you know,
00:20:20.520 right before this retreat,
00:20:22.340 about two months before,
00:20:24.300 I was thinking,
00:20:25.540 yep,
00:20:25.900 I love Jesus so much.
00:20:27.320 And I heard a homily
00:20:28.820 that talked about
00:20:29.880 how some saints
00:20:31.480 performed all their miracles
00:20:32.860 because they were so convinced
00:20:34.140 of Jesus' love
00:20:36.060 for them.
00:20:37.440 And I was like,
00:20:38.420 wow.
00:20:39.780 I wish I could
00:20:40.900 have more of a sense
00:20:42.120 of Jesus' love
00:20:43.920 for me.
00:20:46.040 And then this retreat came
00:20:47.740 and St. Catherine of Siena's
00:20:50.260 quote came
00:20:50.840 and it's been for me
00:20:52.160 a meditation ever since.
00:20:54.160 Listen to it
00:20:54.820 in its original
00:20:55.480 from Bishop Scott.
00:20:57.320 St. Catherine of Siena,
00:21:00.880 great doctor of the church,
00:21:02.440 would often
00:21:02.880 fall into ecstasy
00:21:04.580 and the sisters
00:21:06.040 and the other women 0.99
00:21:06.700 around him
00:21:07.320 would write down
00:21:08.160 her prayers,
00:21:09.980 write down
00:21:10.620 what she's saying
00:21:11.460 to Jesus,
00:21:12.480 even though they could
00:21:13.140 only hear one side
00:21:14.320 of the conversation.
00:21:15.920 And at one point
00:21:16.840 with her head back,
00:21:18.220 her arms cruciform,
00:21:19.780 she cried out,
00:21:20.740 Lord,
00:21:22.760 you're like an inebriated lover. 0.54
00:21:26.060 You have no need 0.96
00:21:28.180 of me whatsoever,
00:21:30.200 but you treat me
00:21:31.340 like you can't live
00:21:33.000 without me.
00:21:36.300 You treat me
00:21:37.980 like you can't live
