Summary

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in 1973, abortion has become a hot topic, sometimes as a means of avoiding the more fundamental issue of the right to life for every innocent unborn child. Pro-lifers are being persecuted and jailed for speaking the truth outside abortion centers all across Canada, and in the U.K., even silent prayer is illegal in some places. But what really is at stake here? This isn t just a legal battle, it s about defending the inherent dignity of every human being from conception to natural death.

00:00:00.000 One really devious way in which abortion providers try to hide the truth from you
00:00:05.300 is by manipulating the very language that we speak.
00:00:08.840 Have you ever noticed that these abortion providers describe what they do as
00:00:13.280 removing the pregnancy?
00:00:16.100 What you're removing is your baby.
00:00:18.480 Hey my friends, the abortion debate in America has reached a boiling point
00:00:31.000 and it's only going to become more after Donald Trump is inaugurated.
00:00:35.480 Ever since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022,
00:00:39.280 the different worldviews simmering beneath the surface have overflown into two starkly different realities.
00:00:48.900 Since that time, some states have enacted strict bans on abortion,
00:00:52.900 on killing children in the womb, standing up for the sanctity of life.
00:00:56.360 But others have doubled down on expanding abortion access, as they call it,
00:01:01.420 turning their policies into open season on children in the womb.
00:01:05.820 Late-term abortion has become the hot topic,
00:01:10.920 sometimes as a means of avoiding the more fundamental issue of the right to life for every innocent unborn child.
00:01:17.840 You might even say that the conservative position, the acceptable version of being pro-life,
00:01:23.380 has been redefined as being against late-term abortion.
00:01:27.840 The USA narrowly avoided electing the most radically pro-abortion candidate in history.
00:01:34.640 And we will have to see and to pray about what President Trump will actually do.
00:01:39.980 The DC-9 are in prison.
00:01:41.780 They are the ones who followed their convictions for peacefully protesting at late-term abortion clinic in Washington, D.C.
00:01:50.080 They're in jail.
00:01:51.280 These brave men and women wanted to save the lives of babies and provide help to their mothers.
00:01:57.460 And now they're in jail.
00:01:59.400 But President Trump has vowed to set them free.
00:02:02.040 But this isn't just happening in America.
00:02:03.980 Pro-lifers are being persecuted and jailed for speaking the truth outside abortion centers all across Canada.
00:02:10.720 And in the U.K., even silent prayer is illegal in some places.
00:02:15.880 But what really is at stake here?
00:02:18.160 This isn't just a legal battle.
00:02:20.620 It's about defending the inherent dignity of every human being from conception to natural death.
00:02:26.660 There are hundreds, in fact thousands, tens of thousands, who have never heard the full case for why abortion is wrong under all circumstances.
00:02:36.460 And that's why we need to break it down.
00:02:38.780 We need to break down the arguments for them.
00:02:41.460 And one outstanding place that this has done is in a book called Abortion Matters, published by Philos Educational Publications,
00:02:49.020 which has been really helpful in putting together this presentation for you.
00:02:52.300 Let's start with the main arguments given in defense of the right to kill unborn children.
00:02:58.180 It's helpful to lay out the opposing arguments clearly so that we can better see how flawed they are and how to refute them.
00:03:07.160 Abortion advocates say abortion should be legal because a fetus supposedly isn't a human being.
00:03:14.880 A woman has a right to autonomy over her body.
00:03:18.140 A woman can't be forced to carry a baby against her will.
00:03:23.120 Some family situations are unsuitable for children.
00:03:27.260 Abortion is necessary for workplace equality between men and women.
00:03:32.280 If abortion isn't legal, then women will seek dangerous backstreet abortions.
00:03:38.660 So first of all, let's start at the beginning, conception.
00:03:42.200 What is it that a woman is carrying within her when she is pregnant?
00:03:46.140 A real human being or a clump of cells?
00:03:51.220 Well, when a sperm reaches an ovum, it breaks up and its genetic contents are released into the ovum.
00:03:57.580 At that moment, a new human being comes into existence, separate to his mother and his own existence and trajectory of development.
00:04:06.980 This is the view of modern science.
00:04:10.060 For U.S. residents, creating a will has never been easier.

00:04:38.400 Thank you for your support, and may God bless you.
00:04:41.720 Once upon a time, there were different ideas based on a misunderstanding of intercourse and conception.
00:04:46.960 But today, the science, which we're all supposed to follow, by the way, is completely clear.
00:04:53.840 Embryologists tell us that the embryo has its own genetic code, different to that of the mother.
00:05:01.740 Life begins at conception, at fertilization.
00:05:04.520 That's the science.
00:05:06.200 Abortion advocates draw upon Nazi rhetoric to say that an unborn baby is not yet a person,
00:05:12.500 based on the fact that the child isn't yet able to think or feel.
00:05:17.220 As such, mom's rights over her body trumped the baby's right even to life itself.
00:05:23.760 You know what?
00:05:24.520 We've heard all that before.
00:05:25.720 Nazi propaganda described Jews, Eastern Europeans, the disabled, and political dissidents as untermenschen, subhuman.
00:05:35.440 Their euthanasia program talked about life unworthy of life.
00:05:40.420 They wanted you dead.
00:05:41.380 Not for crimes, but for your lack of intrinsic worth.
00:05:46.340 And the same goes for Africans in the slave trade.
00:05:49.260 They were seen as not really human, but the slavery abolitionists were on the right side of history.
00:05:55.200 And so are the abortion abolitionists.
00:05:58.880 Why do scientists and embryologists say life begins at conception?
00:06:04.180 Fertilization and conception are the moment in which cells from mom and dad stop being cells from mom and dad and start being the cells of another third thing.
00:06:15.980 And this third thing is a new, living, and complete life in itself.
00:06:21.240 It's a baby.
00:06:22.440 It just doesn't look like one yet.
00:06:25.240 Actually, you know how we know that?
00:06:27.540 Because if no one interferes with that tiny being, it develops in a clear, linear, predictable way.
00:06:35.080 The cells all behave as parts of a whole.
00:06:38.460 And a fertilized oven certainly doesn't behave as part of the mother.
00:06:43.500 It's a complex organism whose parts work together in an organized, coordinated way, ordered toward its own development and not the development of the mother.
00:06:52.660 It's an individual.
00:06:53.380 An unborn baby is complete, even if he is dependent on mom for pretty much everything.
00:06:59.920 He needs to stay alive.
00:07:01.980 Ah, the abortion lobby will say, that proves he isn't complete.
00:07:06.460 Oh, come on.
00:07:07.780 Once a baby is born, he's going to be dependent on mom then too.
00:07:12.540 He's complete, even though he's far from having achieved all the potential qualities he has.
00:07:18.020 The way in which he is complete is that he is not a part of something else, the way your cells are part of you.
00:07:26.840 And that's why there's no point that we can say, now we're going to kill this unborn child.
00:07:35.000 It's a lie to say that an unborn baby is just a clump of cells.
00:07:39.900 Imagine all the bricks, wood, and whatever else you need to build a house lying on the ground in a pile.
00:07:45.720 All the parts of the house are there, but it isn't a house.
00:07:49.040 It doesn't look like a house.
00:07:50.940 But now, imagine all these parts in their proper place.
00:07:54.560 The bricks aren't just strewn over the ground.
00:07:56.720 They're ordered toward the whole house, of which they are now a part.
00:08:01.160 And obviously, being a part of a whole house is completely different from being a part of a random pile.
00:08:08.580 The baby is not a random collection of parts, and he is not a part of something else either.
00:08:14.640 He's a complete individual.
00:08:17.100 Even IVF, in vitro fertilization, proves that life begins at conception.
00:08:22.080 Scientists fertilizing an ovum can see that this causes new life to come into being.
00:08:28.220 If they put it in mom's womb, it would develop into a baby.
00:08:33.020 But put some random skin cells, for instance, into mom's womb.
00:08:37.680 It's not going to develop into a baby.
00:08:39.480 There is no point where we can say, well, now this non-baby has started to be a baby.
00:08:47.800 Nothing fundamentally changes before and after birth except breathing and drinking milk.
00:08:53.260 The people we see around us today were the same people they were on the day of their birth,
00:08:58.560 and they were the same people on the day of their conception, too.
00:09:02.280 And that's why there's no point where we can say, now we can no longer kill this unborn child.
00:09:07.640 It's always impossible.
00:09:11.440 Abortion advocates admit that abortion is the killing of a child.
00:09:15.920 Did you know that even leading pro-abortion advocates agree that the human life begins at the moment of conception
00:09:24.020 and that abortion ends a human life?
00:09:26.100 The infanticide-promoting philosopher Peter Singer said, and I quote,
00:09:31.920 There is no doubt that from the first moments of its existence,
00:09:36.240 an embryo conceived from human sperm and eggs is a human being, end quote.
00:09:42.320 Naomi Wolf, a feminist author and abortion advocate, called denials of this,
00:09:48.240 and I quote,
00:09:49.160 A series of self-delusions, fibs, and evasions, end quote.
00:09:52.700 She said that abortion can only be defended, and I quote,
00:09:56.100 within a moral framework that admits that the death of a fetus is a real death, end quote.
00:10:02.240 This is why the abortion industry is terrified of ultrasounds being offered
00:10:08.480 because their potential customers, and especially of mandatory ultrasounds,
00:10:14.700 would show their customers that this is not right.
00:10:18.940 They're actually afraid moms will learn the truth,
00:10:23.260 and it'll threaten their bottom line, their dollars.
00:10:26.100 One really devious way in which abortion providers try to hide the truth from you
00:10:32.920 is by manipulating the very language that we speak.
00:10:37.280 Have you ever noticed that these abortion providers describe what they do as
00:10:41.740 removing the pregnancy?
00:10:45.080 One pro-abortion group describes the disgusting method of vacuum aspiration like this.
00:10:50.400 They say, and I quote,
00:10:51.260 The pregnancy is removed by suction, end quote.
00:10:56.060 This way of speaking is, well, it's common in the industry, but it makes no sense.
00:11:00.680 The pregnancy is a condition.
00:11:02.240 It's a period of time.
00:11:03.820 That's what the dictionary says.
00:11:05.340 You can't remove a condition or a period of time.
00:11:08.740 You end it.
00:11:10.220 What you're removing is your baby.
00:11:12.780 The abortion empire uses word wizardry to avoid having to acknowledge what they're doing and to hide it from you.
00:11:23.160 Abortion advocates love word wizardry.
00:11:26.340 Infamous late-term abortionist Warren Hearn calls what's left of the baby after he's done his horrible work
00:11:33.600 The products of conception.
00:11:36.400 But you know what?
00:11:37.460 We are all products of conception.
00:11:41.020 Potential life is another one of the most anti-science expressions you'll ever hear.
00:11:46.680 Science is completely clear that we're dealing with an actual life when we're talking about the products of conception.
00:11:54.440 Once the sperm has fertilized the ovum, it's not potential anymore.
00:11:58.380 It's an actual living, unique, and unrepeatable human being.
00:12:01.580 That's why many pro-lifers say that an unborn baby isn't a potential human being, but a human being with potential.
00:12:08.820 There's a big difference.
00:12:10.720 But reproductive rights, that term, reproductive rights, that's like the best of all.
00:12:16.140 There's nothing about the right to reproduction in abortion.
00:12:20.540 It's the right to kill a baby.
00:12:24.620 Some might say, but a fetus doesn't look like a human being.
00:12:29.300 But you know what?
00:12:29.780 Even that's bogus.
00:12:30.660 First of all, a fetus looks like a small baby from a very early stage.
00:12:35.000 But think about this.
00:12:36.040 If you looked at a born baby and said, it doesn't look like a human being, everyone would think you're nuts.
00:12:43.160 But if you clarified and said, well, human beings all walk and talk and have teeth and hair,
00:12:49.800 well, they'd say, well, that's what a human being looks like at a later stage of development.
00:12:55.780 This baby is what a human being looks like at this stage of development.
00:13:00.800 Well, guess what?
00:13:01.940 There you go.
00:13:02.800 It's the same thing.
00:13:03.960 A blastocyst, a zygote, an embryo.
00:13:07.060 Do they look like human beings?
00:13:09.320 They actually do.
00:13:10.460 That's what a human being looks like at those stages of development.
00:13:15.280 There is no other point except conception where we can say, now it's a baby.
00:13:22.340 And that's why there's no period of time before when we can say, now we're going to kill this unborn child.
00:13:29.080 Let me tell you some incredible things about the development of the baby in the womb.
00:13:33.360 After the ovum has been fertilized, the result is a single cell.
00:13:37.900 The single cell has 46 distinct human chromosomes, distinct from the 23 that the sperm and the ovum had.
00:13:46.020 And the sperm and ovum are gone.
00:13:48.420 They are replaced with this new little organism.
00:13:52.200 The new fertilized cell then splits into two, then four, and so on.
00:13:56.960 Over the next couple of days, this rapidly growing organism, called a blastocyst, moves its way along the fallopian tube until it reaches the womb,
00:14:07.120 which has already started to get itself ready for the embryo.
00:14:11.160 Once it's implanted itself on the wall of the uterus, normally between 6 to 12 days,
00:14:18.040 the embryo sends out a message through mom's hormones, which will stop the next period from happening.
00:14:24.360 The whole body knows a new independent life is already here.
00:14:30.220 By about 3 to 4 weeks, a human embryonic child has a heart which beats.
00:14:36.120 A head and body appear and arms and then legs start to form.
00:14:41.480 A central nervous system appears, as do the digestive and respiratory tracts.
00:14:47.260 The skin starts to form, as do the early forms of the muscles and bones.
00:14:50.820 And all this in the first 4 weeks or so.
00:14:54.640 Cancer cells don't start developing into a human body, nor do any other cells.
00:14:59.460 It's never been the case that random sets of cells start forming themselves into humans of their own accord,
00:15:06.460 or from any other natural cause.
00:15:09.500 Those clumps of cells aren't a human organism.
00:15:12.420 The blastocyst, or embryo, is a human organism.
00:15:15.640 And if you choose to call a blastocyst a clump of cells, remember, that's what you are too.
00:15:22.880 Did you know that the embryo's brain starts to develop at 4 weeks or so?
00:15:29.020 Scientists have detected actual brain raves around 6 weeks.
00:15:33.160 Cartilage, about 5 or 6 weeks.
00:15:35.280 It starts to move itself in reaction to stimuli.
00:15:38.600 Cute little fingers and toes appear.
00:15:41.120 And at 7 weeks, it has its own individual fingerprints.
00:15:45.020 Those are fingerprints which will never, ever be repeated again in another human being.
00:15:51.600 There are ears at 7 weeks.
00:15:54.160 And what he will need to be able to hear and balance is already in place there at that time.
00:16:00.140 By about 8 weeks, the embryo will have grown about 4 centimeters and will have eyelids and eyes, lens, retina, and all that.
00:16:09.560 By the end of 8 weeks, all the organs except the lungs are now actually working.
00:16:15.220 We start to call an embryo fetus about 8 weeks.
00:16:18.740 Even though we typically talk about a baby, and embryo and fetus have come to be associated with politically with those who want to justify abortion,
00:16:28.500 embryo and fetus aren't bad words any more than senior is a bad word.
00:16:33.080 The word fetus itself means offspring.
00:16:36.520 And it just points to a stage in the person's life.
00:16:38.980 By the end of the third month, or about 12 weeks as we normally put it, baby is now about 9 centimeters,
00:16:45.020 making facial expressions, including smiling, sucking his thumb, moving about, and napping.
00:16:50.180 Can you believe that?
00:16:50.880 Napping at certain intervals.
00:16:53.660 Responding to touch even more.
00:16:56.700 I could tell you many more things about what comes later.
00:17:00.020 Like how babies can hear and respond to sounds from 4 or 5 months from conception.
00:17:04.960 Or how baby can survive outside the womb from around 22 weeks or so.
00:17:10.800 And that's actually 20 weeks from conception, by the way.
00:17:15.080 But I want to stay focused on 12 weeks right now because it's at that time when baby is showing all these typical signs of life
00:17:24.020 and is very clearly its own independent little being that most abortions take place.
00:17:29.300 Pope Pius XI said men must look for the peace of Christ in the kingdom of Christ.
00:17:36.860 And he urged that the faithful give public honor to Christ the King so that individuals and states would submit once more to the rule of their Savior.
00:17:45.220 And that is why LifeSite News is raising up the image of Christ the King across the United States.

00:18:02.540 Most abortions take place in the first trimester.
00:18:06.220 93% of abortions take place in the first 12 weeks or 3 months of pregnancy.
00:18:12.220 Not so early before that, but around that time.
00:18:15.700 Why?
00:18:15.900 Because earlier on you often don't even know that you're pregnant.
00:18:18.880 At that time, because when you made your appointment, that's when you get there.
00:18:23.080 Abortion stats are hard to pin down accurately.
00:18:26.140 But that's what the Pew Research Center concluded from 40 states and in New York City in 2021.
00:18:33.320 Only 6% happen in the next three months.
00:18:36.940 Only 1% take place after that.
00:18:39.880 And this is similar elsewhere in the world.
00:18:43.100 Early abortion sounds like it's supposed to be better than later abortions.
00:18:47.400 Moms are sometimes told that their baby is just a clump of cells.
00:18:51.820 This is emphatically not the case at 12 weeks.
00:18:55.660 Baby is a beating heart.
00:18:56.880 Working organs is in no more a clump of cells than you or me are a clump of cells.
00:19:03.620 Not that that actually matters, of course, because it's a human being from the moment of conception.
00:19:09.260 So can a baby in the womb feel pain?
00:19:13.600 Neurobiologists have said that they have the capacity for feeling pain from at least 8 weeks.
00:19:19.420 And they actually, the baby in the womb will recoil from pain stimuli.
00:19:23.440 When we experience pain, our bloodstream is flooded with cortisol, endorphins, and norepinephrine.
00:19:32.280 Science shows that at 16 weeks, the same thing happens to babies in the womb in response to painful stimuli.
00:19:40.640 So they do feel pain.
00:19:42.940 Now, this doesn't have a bearing, by the way, on the moral question of abortion.
00:19:46.660 But when you're not sure, surely you err on the side of caution.
00:19:52.480 Get this.
00:19:53.340 Pain relief is important for pre-birth surgery when the parents want the baby.
00:19:59.640 The fact that nobody cares at all about the fact that abortion, maybe they should have pain relief.
00:20:07.960 That actually shows you that it's a lie, this myth of caring, compassionate, moral abortion lobby.
00:20:14.000 Nonsense.
00:20:16.660 So while the whole idea of late-term abortion is absolutely sick, focusing on that is kind of like a cheap political trick.
00:20:25.720 With only 1% of abortions happening in the last trimester and 6% in the second trimester,
00:20:31.820 restricting abortion to 12 weeks will do almost nothing about the real problem.
00:20:37.340 The same goes for reducing limits from 26 weeks to 24 weeks or whatever.
00:20:42.820 It's a distraction and a compromise on the main issue.
00:20:46.040 It leaves the abortion industrial complex's finances completely intact and might reduce the amount of bloodshed.
00:20:54.800 We need to be opposed to abortion from day one.
00:20:57.960 And that's because it's an independent human life from day one.
00:21:00.940 What about these heartbeat bills?
00:21:05.040 While we need to be against abortion from day one, there is something to be said for those heartbeat bills.
00:21:10.100 Those bans can have a real impact on the number of abortions and you can see it from the way the abortion lobby freaks out when you have these heartbeat abortion bill bans.
00:21:21.720 But we can't negotiate with human lives.
00:21:25.740 There's an argument that says we shouldn't be accepting abortions in some cases as a price for outlawing them in others.
00:21:32.880 Would we be happy to see heartbeat bills?
00:21:35.420 Sure.
00:21:36.360 The banning of late-term abortion?
00:21:38.320 Well, I mean, of course, although it won't really reduce the number of abortions if 91% are in the first trimester.
00:21:44.680 But what we want is for abortion to be completely abolished, not reduced.
00:21:50.860 That's our goal.
00:21:52.080 Science and common sense say abortion involves two people, mom and her baby.
00:21:57.200 Advocating for women is great, but not at the expense of children.
00:22:01.980 When rights conflict, the solution isn't for one person's rights to steamroll another person's rights,
00:22:07.260 especially when it involves violating an inalienable right through an intrinsically evil act.
00:22:14.680 Hard cases like ectopic pregnancies can be resolved morally in ways that sadly may indirectly lead to the baby's death.
00:22:22.960 But no woman has the right to directly kill her child.
00:22:27.420 And these cases are rare.
00:22:29.700 UK abortion data from 2021 showed that only 111 out of 210,000 abortions,
00:22:36.180 just 0.05%, were performed to save the mother's life or prevent grave permanent harm.
00:22:43.020 Abortion isn't about hard cases.
00:22:46.080 It's about denying the most basic human right.
00:22:50.280 Being forced to give birth violates that in the same way as forced organ donation.
00:22:56.120 That's why some abortion advocates say based on a woman's supposedly absolute bodily autonomy.
00:23:02.420 So they say she has the right to stop being pregnant, even if this means the death of the child.
00:23:09.240 This is false.
00:23:10.760 No one's forcing women to be pregnant or give birth.
00:23:14.200 We're observing that they don't have the right to kill the child.
00:23:18.580 There's also a difference between the violent removal of an organ and preventing women using murder
00:23:25.800 to enduring natural processes through the killing of a third party.
00:23:31.420 Also, we're forced to do all sorts of things in society, including parental responsibilities.
00:23:38.060 If a man consistently doesn't fulfill his parental responsibility,
00:23:42.840 the state will violate his bodily autonomy by putting him in prison.
00:23:47.500 Contrary to what you've heard and been told,
00:23:50.040 abortion is one of the gravest risks to a woman's welfare in the world.
00:23:55.560 Global stats show girls are more likely to be aborted than boys,
00:23:59.920 especially in India, China, and even Western countries.
00:24:03.260 Legal abortion, especially with pills by post, by the mail, is an abuser's character.
00:24:11.500 Abusive parents, partners, and employers can force abortions through soft pressure,
00:24:17.000 hard pressure, or no pressure at all,
00:24:19.120 secretly ordering pills and slipping them into mom's food or drink.
00:24:24.220 Abortion has long-lasting physical and mental health implications.
00:24:28.740 One landmark study found that suicide is six times higher after abortion than after birth,
00:24:37.180 and that women are more likely to die from any cause after abortion.
00:24:44.360 Abortion advocates aren't champions of women at all.
00:24:48.300 They defend exploitation and violence.
00:24:51.820 You might have heard,
00:24:52.900 you want to send us back to the backstreet abortions.
00:24:55.760 Well, that's why pro-abortion protests feature the ever-present coathanger.
00:25:02.820 So if abortion isn't legal,
00:25:05.340 women will risk their lives in backstreet abortions to end their baby's lives?
00:25:10.380 Is it society's duty to ensure that those who harm others can do so safely and easily?
00:25:17.500 Law powerfully shapes morality, as does convenience.
00:25:20.820 If abortion were illegal and harder to access, fewer women would have abortion.
00:25:26.360 But we actually already have backstreet abortion.
00:25:29.780 Pills sent in the mail.
00:25:31.540 Women taking them unsupervised and without medical help when things go wrong.
00:25:36.200 And things do go wrong.
00:25:38.060 Hemorrhages and much more.
00:25:40.380 It's hard to take the fears of illegal backstreet abortion seriously
00:25:44.180 when we are already doing illegalized backstreet abortion.
00:25:48.820 But while it's important to understand arguments as to why abortion is contrary to the natural law,
00:25:56.020 we have to realize that abortion is part of Satan's great campaign to mock Almighty God
00:26:02.160 and to destroy the creatures for whom Jesus died.
00:26:05.580 Abortion advocates say,
00:26:06.700 This is my body.
00:26:08.080 It's my choice.
00:26:09.080 Our Lord Jesus Christ said before he suffered,
00:26:11.360 This is my body given for you.
00:26:15.160 The prophet Isaiah said of him,
00:26:17.420 He was offered because it was his own will.
00:26:22.320 Christ chose to obey his Father and give up his body in the Passion and in the Holy Eucharist
00:26:28.080 to give us life.
00:26:30.020 Abortion does the opposite by taking innocent life in the name of self-will.
00:26:35.600 Abortion takes his life-giving words and twists them into a rejection of life.
00:26:43.440 That's why so many priests have called abortion the sacrament of Satan.
00:26:49.440 Every child is a gift from God created in his image.
00:26:53.180 Let's honor Christ's example by protecting life and choosing self-sacrificing love over self-serving choice.
00:27:01.040 Holy Scripture tells us in Genesis that every person is made in the image of God.
00:27:07.940 And that includes the unborn child from the very moment of conception.
00:27:12.960 Abortion destroys a life that bears God's image.
00:27:16.180 Proverbs 6-7 tells us that God hates the hands that shed innocent blood.
00:27:22.220 And there's nothing more innocent than a baby.
00:27:24.700 People often say,
00:27:27.100 My body, my choice.
00:27:28.080 But St. Paul reminds us that our bodies belong to God, not us.
00:27:32.760 And that they are to be the temples of the Holy Spirit.
00:27:36.800 That's why abortion isn't just wrong.
00:27:39.560 It's joining Satan in his rebellion against God's design.
00:27:43.200 It's a moral imperative to choose life,
00:27:45.420 to defend life,
00:27:46.520 to uphold God's truth,
00:27:48.260 and to share God's love by protecting every innocent life,
00:27:52.380 born and unborn.
00:27:53.800 The Bible also proclaims to God in the Psalms,
00:27:56.980 You knit me together in my mother's womb.
00:27:59.140 Some translations also say in the same place,
00:28:01.760 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
00:28:05.620 Jeremiah said something similar on God's behalf.
00:28:09.180 And I quote,
00:28:09.860 Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
00:28:13.300 God knows every child, even before birth.
00:28:17.380 These aren't just poetic metaphors.
00:28:19.520 They're God's divine revelation.
00:28:21.200 Taking a life made in the image of God,
00:28:24.980 no matter how small or vulnerable,
00:28:26.960 is taking something sacred.
00:28:28.980 Abortion isn't a medical choice or political debate.
00:28:32.160 It's a moral abomination.
00:28:34.400 It ends the life that God himself created.
00:28:37.480 The Bible is clear that abortion is contrary to God's law.
00:28:42.480 The fifth commandment, maybe the sixth in some Bibles,
00:28:45.460 is thou shalt not kill.
00:28:47.980 Life is a gift from God,
00:28:49.400 and every person has a natural right
00:28:51.260 not to be deprived of life without just cause.
00:28:54.580 We're all called to protect life.
00:28:58.140 St. Luke tells us that St. John the Baptist
00:29:00.300 leaped for joy in the womb.
00:29:01.940 I've never seen a clump of cells or mere tissue jump for joy.
00:29:06.660 God recognizes unborn children as unique individuals with purpose.
00:29:11.620 As Christians, we must reject abortion
00:29:13.640 and affirm the dignity of every human being,
00:29:16.680 pray, speak up, and act to protect the voiceless.
00:29:20.740 Being pro-life is a stand against Satan
00:29:23.420 because abortion imitates the ancient sacrifice of children
00:29:27.500 to the devil god, Moloch.
00:29:29.700 These sacrifices were gruesome.
00:29:32.740 Moms and dads would put their babies
00:29:34.520 inside a burning bronze idol
00:29:36.800 while drums drowned out their little screams.
00:29:40.320 Why did they do it?
00:29:41.640 The same reason that many have abortions today.
00:29:44.700 Prosperity, worldly security.
00:29:47.180 Abortion often sacrifices the innocent
00:29:49.200 on the altar of convenience, career, and choice.
00:29:53.400 This is why abortion is called the sacrament of Satan.
00:29:56.300 But there is no prosperity or security in sin.
00:30:00.060 The Bible tells us children are a heritage from the Lord.
00:30:03.060 The fruit of the womb is a reward.
00:30:05.600 Every unborn child belongs to God, not to us.
00:30:11.020 Sacrificing to Moloch, whether with fire or with abortion,
00:30:14.900 is a terrible, mortal sin.
00:30:18.780 It's a sin that cries out to heaven for vengeance.
00:30:23.040 Abortion isn't just a grave sin.
00:30:24.640 It's one of the four sins which the Bible tells us cry out to heaven for vengeance.
00:30:29.640 Genesis tells us that when Cain murdered Abel,
00:30:33.260 God said,
00:30:34.420 The voice of your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground.
00:30:39.580 Every aborted child is another innocent life whose blood cries out to God.
00:30:45.380 When God asked Cain about what had happened to Abel,
00:30:48.460 Cain said,
00:30:49.240 Am I my brother's keeper?
00:30:50.380 However, the Catechism teaches that murder, especially of the innocent,
00:30:55.660 is a sin so grievous it demands God's justice.
00:30:58.940 Each abortion offends his infinite justice and mercy.
00:31:03.160 Given that our societies are practically built on all four sins that cry to heaven for vengeance,
00:31:08.960 we are surely heading for a horrible chastisement.
00:31:12.260 We have to pray and do penance.
00:31:15.900 But let's end with some hope.
00:31:18.220 You know, mercy is available.
00:31:20.440 Do any man or woman who's been involved with an abortion know this?
00:31:25.480 Christ's infinite mercy is available to you.
00:31:29.140 The Bible tells us the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
00:31:34.840 If you are carrying the weight of this pain of abortion,
00:31:38.440 Jesus Christ wants to lift it from you.
00:31:41.880 On the cross, he made atonement for every sin, including abortion,
00:31:45.680 to open up mercy for those who turn to him.
00:31:49.200 No sin is too great for Jesus.
00:31:52.760 He loved to be with sinners, inviting them to repentance.
00:31:57.280 Turn to him today in prayer.
00:32:00.020 Pray for the grace of real supernatural sorrow for your sins.
00:32:03.880 Tell him you are sorry for love of him because he is so good.
00:32:09.400 His sacred heart is waiting to give you peace and strength to move forward.
00:32:15.180 God's mercy is offered to those who have been involved in abortion through the Catholic Church.
00:32:20.160 Through the Church's sacraments, Christ offers total forgiveness and healing,
00:32:25.300 even for the darkest sins.
00:32:27.820 In baptism, sin is washed away and a soul is made new in Christ.
00:32:31.780 Your old self dies and a new self is born, as white as snow.
00:32:37.660 For those already baptized, after begging God for his mercy and prayer, go to confession.
00:32:42.860 In confession, his mercy flows through his priests, cleansing the soul and restoring grace.
00:32:49.120 No matter how heavy the burden, no matter how horrible or frequent the sins,
00:32:54.220 God's forgiveness is complete for those who truly repent.
00:32:57.660 Don't be afraid or carry the guilt alone.
00:33:01.360 Come to the sacraments where Christ waits.
00:33:04.600 In fact, he begs to forgive and heal, giving peace to every soul who seeks Jesus.
00:33:12.000 If you've been involved in abortion, know that help is available.
00:33:16.020 The Church not only proclaims the truth about life,
00:33:18.820 but also offers compassion and healing for men and women in pain.
00:33:22.200 There are counseling services specifically for people like you.
00:33:26.660 Rachel's Vineyard looks to support men and women dealing with grief and guilt after abortion.
00:33:32.580 The priests you meet will have supported men and women in your position before.
00:33:38.380 You can't shock any of them in confession, by the way.
00:33:41.660 You don't have to carry the burden alone.
00:33:44.000 Reach out to these ministries and services that help people in your position.
00:33:48.320 They will help you find peace and rediscover your dignity as beloved children of God.
00:33:55.740 Jesus said,
00:33:57.180 There shall be more joy in heaven at one sinner that repents than at 99 of those who don't need repentance.
00:34:04.760 With the sacraments, prayer, counseling, and God's love, healing is possible.
00:34:09.500 You are not forgotten.
00:34:10.760 You are very much loved.
00:34:13.820 For LifeSite News, this is John Henry Weston.
00:34:16.480 And may God bless you.
00:34:18.320 And may God bless you.
