The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1045 - It's Time To Throw The Drag Queen Groomers In Prison

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, the drag queen grooming events are only getting more outrageous 0.78

00:00:04.500 and perverse as two recent incidents show. So what can be done to put a stop to this? We'll

00:00:08.900 discuss today. Also, George Floyd's family threatens to sue Kanye West for saying that

00:00:13.120 George Floyd died from an overdose. Somebody plastered the gender studies department at the

00:00:17.620 University of Wisconsin with posters advertising my upcoming event on campus. Students in the

00:00:22.300 department say that it's a hate crime. I say if it's a hate crime, it's a hilarious one.

00:00:25.500 Stacey Abrams has an idea for fixing the economy, kill more people, and late night host 1.00

00:00:29.940 James Corden is exposed as yet another pompous Hollywood jerk. No big surprise there. All 0.99

00:00:34.840 of that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.

00:02:07.540 Well, you know, it becomes quite wearying to hear about atrocities like this, but the worst thing we

00:02:12.680 could do is get bored of it and just stop paying attention. So we begin with footage of another

00:02:16.920 all-ages drag show, quote unquote, in Texas, attended and documented by Sarah Gonzalez of

00:02:22.460 The Blaze. She says that she has more footage on the way, but the 30-second clip that she posted

00:02:26.720 yesterday is shocking enough on its own. It shows a man in drag, lifting up his skirt and gyrating 0.96

00:02:34.300 around while people throw money at him. And in the background, you can see a child who can't be more

00:02:39.320 than, I don't know, six or seven years old, looking on confused and obviously completely disturbed.

00:02:46.100 Meanwhile, the music, which is blasting through the restaurant, is so vulgar and sexual that

00:02:53.040 I can't play the clip with sound and I can't even quote the lyrics to you. All I can say is that

00:02:59.260 it's a woman rapping in extremely graphic terms about her genitals and about the various sex acts 0.99

00:03:05.520 that she wants to perform. So there's at least one child in the building listening to that while 0.89

00:03:11.780 watching a cross-dressing man dance around with his skirt pulled up to reveal the women's underwear 0.93

00:03:18.000 underneath. And this is happening in Texas. I feel like we can't emphasize that enough.

00:03:23.480 That so many of these things, so much of this footage that we're getting is from Texas. It's

00:03:29.220 this bad in Texas. So we can be sure that it's even worse pretty much everywhere else in the country,

00:03:33.720 especially in a place like Oregon, where, as Andy Ngo reports for The Post Millennial,

00:03:37.920 a bar is planning a drag show this coming weekend featuring an 11-year-old performer.

00:03:45.120 And it gets worse. Reading from the article, it says, controversy has erupted after a pub in Eugene,

00:03:49.800 Oregon, announced it is hosting a drag queen event featuring an 11-year-old child.

00:03:55.020 An investigation by The Post Millennial has revealed that one of the child's drag moms, 1.00

00:03:59.320 quote unquote, was recently charged with child sex abuse offenses.

00:04:02.640 Quote, are you excited for drag queen story time brunch this Sunday morning? Old Nick's Pub asked

00:04:08.840 in a Facebook announcement. Vanellope is here to show you what an 11-year-old drag queen can do. 1.00

00:04:15.380 The Post featured several photos of Vanellope craving McPherson,

00:04:19.780 Vanellope craving McPherson DuPont. That's the stage name of the child, including one where she is

00:04:25.700 touching her chest and her mouth is open. The Post Millennial is not publishing the real name of

00:04:29.560 the child. Old Nick's Pub is known locally in the university town for being a leftist bar and it

00:04:34.600 frequently hosts drag shows as well as sexual fetish events. Vanellope has performed at different 1.00

00:04:40.260 events around the state of Oregon, sometimes with grown male performers in risque outfits since at

00:04:44.600 least 2018. The girl has cash app and Venmo accounts where adults often send her cash tips.

00:04:51.500 Photographs on her Facebook page also show her being showered on stage with dollar bills.

00:04:55.680 By the way, as you may note there, this article and others that I've read about this refer to the

00:05:03.260 child as her. But if this is a drag queen, then you would think that would mean the child is actually 1.00

00:05:07.780 a boy. Unless they've now started dressing little girls up like drag queens too, which maybe they have. 0.95

00:05:13.640 I'm not sure what's the case here, but either way, whether a girl or a boy, drag is an inherently 1.00

00:05:19.400 sexualized burlesque performance. And there is no universe in which it would be acceptable to

00:05:24.940 include children, either male or female, in such a spectacle in any capacity, whether as spectators

00:05:31.120 or especially as performers. Continuing on, it says, Vanellope's handler, Jennifer Hibbs, is also her

00:05:39.000 drag mom. She uses a stage name Sunshine Ray McPherson and is a longtime LGBTQ activist. Hibbs clarified she is

00:05:47.340 not the girl's parent or guardian, as previously reported, but is the handler for the child.

00:05:52.760 Quote, her actual mother does her choreography so that it's all appropriate, Hibbs said.

00:05:57.080 We wouldn't let her do anything suggestive. It's terrible that people assume that we would let her

00:06:02.640 do that. We're the terrible ones, you see. Not the adults who are sexualizing and taking advantage of

00:06:09.100 a child. We're the terrible ones. It's our assumptions that are terrible. But here's another important

00:06:14.980 detail from those reported. It says, on August 11th, Vanellope's other long-term drag mom, 0.77

00:06:20.300 Kelsey M. Boren, who uses the stage name Always Craving, was arrested in Lane County and charged with

00:06:26.880 12 felonies related to making and distributing child porn. Prosecutors found the 32-year-old such

00:06:32.520 a danger to the public that they successfully petitioned the judge to deny her bail. At the time

00:06:37.960 of her arrest, Boren was a teaching assistant for a special education student at Vanetta Elementary in

00:06:43.280 Vanetta, Oregon. She allegedly told detectives that her need for child porn was like a, quote,

00:06:49.520 uncontrollable itch that she couldn't stop. Now, a few things here are confusing. Well,

00:06:57.800 more than a few things, but focusing just on these for a moment. For one thing,

00:07:02.500 the pronoun situation is all over the map. Okay, it's not clear of the various people mentioned here

00:07:07.140 which are actually females, though they all use female pronouns. I mean, it doesn't really make a

00:07:12.160 difference, I suppose. The child is being exploited either way. The adults are creeps and degenerates

00:07:16.700 and worse either way. But that is a confusing aspect of this. Also, I was not previously familiar 0.96

00:07:22.780 with the term drag mom, though from context it seems that this is just another way of describing

00:07:27.840 a professional groomer. The, quote, drag child is handed over to the drag mom to be groomed and 0.99

00:07:35.380 conditioned. It seems to be essentially a sort of pedophilic, predatory farm system that the groomers

00:07:41.960 have set up. So, what can be done about this? That's really the question. We've established

00:07:49.200 that this is happening and it's only getting worse over time. Progressivism does what the name suggests,

00:07:55.540 what the label suggests. It's progressivism, so it progresses, except that it progresses in the same

00:08:00.840 sense that, say, cancer progresses. It keeps spreading and getting worse and eating away at our

00:08:06.740 civilization until it is stopped, or until it destroys its host. And just like cancer, stopping

00:08:14.240 it is not a gentle or a painless process. The farther along the cancer is, the more aggressive you have

00:08:22.140 to be in fighting it. Culturally, we are approaching, if we haven't already reached, a terminal state,

00:08:28.100 which means we have to be all the more aggressive, which calls for two things.

00:08:31.600 First, obviously, involving children in drag events in any capacity should be outright criminalized

00:08:41.820 everywhere. There is no other way. This doesn't stop until police are breaking down the doors at

00:08:47.060 these places and carting the adults away in handcuffs. Charge them all as pedophiles. Throw

00:08:52.720 them in prison. And whenever they get out, if they do get out, put them on the sex offender registry for 0.64

00:08:57.160 life. That man in the first clip, dancing around with his skirt up, should be treated legally as a

00:09:04.360 child predator. That's the level of protection that our children are owed, and the people sexualizing

00:09:10.580 and exploiting them are owed that level of punishment. This is something that needs to start in red states, 1.00

00:09:17.160 and if Republicans take over the White House, it should be handled on the federal level as well.

00:09:21.420 I know that Republicans in Congress have just put out a bill that calls for the defunding,

00:09:30.540 that forbids the federal government from funding or facilitating the sexualization of children in

00:09:37.680 any form. And that includes sexually explicit material being handed out in schools. That includes

00:09:43.480 drag queen story hours and all the rest of it.

00:09:48.320 And that's good, because certainly we should not be funding or in any way facilitating any of that.

00:09:55.700 But we've got to go far beyond that. This should all be criminalized.

00:10:01.420 Second, we don't have to wait for lawmakers to get their act together. We can act by heaping shame and

00:10:09.260 scorn on the adults responsible for this. Public shame is an indispensable tool. It's one necessary

00:10:15.080 for a civilized society to function. But it's one that we have historically become quite shy about

00:10:23.320 using. And when I say we, I don't mean the left, because the left, they're not shy about it. They'll

00:10:27.780 shame their enemies without hesitation. They'll destroy your life and your reputation if they can.

00:10:32.920 So public shame is their number one tool. It's their favorite tool to use. The difference is that

00:10:39.600 they are most often heaping shame on people who don't deserve it. And they're doing it as a means

00:10:44.760 of avoiding intellectual engagement. We, on the other hand, should be making social pariahs out of

00:10:51.560 people whose behavior warrants it. Because we have tolerated far too much. The very people who are the

00:10:59.400 quickest to wield shame as a weapon somehow convinced us that we shouldn't use it ever.

00:11:06.140 No, it's wrong to shame people. You can't shame people, they say, while they go around shaming

00:11:12.780 everyone. The effect is a culture where people can do the most shameful things without any shame at all.

00:11:20.480 Notice how all these places, they advertise their child drag queen shows, and they're all, quote,

00:11:28.200 all ages drag shows and all the rest of it. And it's the same story over and over again. They advertise

00:11:33.280 it. They put the flyers out. They put the stuff up on Facebook. They oftentimes will post their own

00:11:38.760 videos of these things. And then they start scrambling and panicking when the backlash comes.

00:11:46.700 Now, you might think, well, that's an act. They're pretending. But I don't think it is an act.

00:11:51.800 They sincerely did not expect any public outrage because they've been able to do whatever they want

00:11:58.900 for so long without anyone criticizing them for it. So they assume that that would continue.

00:12:04.000 They've gotten comfortable. Far, far too comfortable, I would say. And now it's up to us to make them

00:12:12.720 uncomfortable. Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:12:16.740 With election season upon us, big days are ahead. But I can't stop myself from thinking about the

00:12:28.520 good old days before the world went crazy, pre-pandemic, pre-BLM, pre-the alphabet movement.

00:12:33.940 I guess you could say I'm just missing the good old days, which is why I want to tell you about

00:12:38.160 Legacy Box. Legacy Box makes reclaiming, preserving your most cherished policies incredibly easy.

00:13:04.540 Thanksgiving holiday, something I've not been allowed to ever forget because it keeps popping up

00:13:09.020 an ad copy. And to make up for this slight against my dear sweet mother, sweet grandma Walsh, if you

00:13:14.420 will, I got her Legacy Box so that she doesn't have to keep her old VCR around. And more importantly,

00:13:34.620 slash Walsh. By the way, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention to you, and in fact, wish you a happy

00:13:42.660 pronoun day. This is actually International Pronoun Day. It's a day to celebrate pronouns. I don't know

00:13:51.840 if there is an adjective day or a preposition day. I'm not sure about that, a verb day, but there is a

00:13:58.540 pronoun day. And the LGBT Foundation, whatever that is, puts out this tweet. Happy International

00:14:04.580 Pronoun Day to you, whether you use Z-Zem, She-Her, Day-Dem. Oh, come on. Day-Dem. D-E-Y-D-E-M. 0.94

00:14:19.880 So for people with bad grammar, you know, if you've got really bad grammar, that's how you say they and

00:14:24.060 them, and now we're just turning that into its own problem. Because why not? You can identify as

00:14:27.800 day-dem. He, him, they, them, fey, fair. Pronouns or any others. This is just a short list of some

00:14:35.840 example pronouns people may use. You'll never know someone's pronouns until you ask. Which means that

00:14:42.860 I will just never know because I will never ask. And you know, I often hear people say,

00:14:48.580 well, I hear this a lot. They say, well, well, I'm not using these fake pronouns. You know,

00:14:54.560 fey, fair, Z-Zem, Day-Dem. I'm not using that. That's ridiculous. I'll call you she if you're a 1.00

00:15:00.260 man and that's how you identify. I'll say that, but I draw the line at the rest of this stuff. I'm not

00:15:06.560 going to do that. No, no, you don't really draw the line and you will start saying it. Okay. You'll be

00:15:14.420 saying Z-Zem in no time. You'll be walking around respecting those pronouns. Yes, you will. You'll 0.99

00:15:20.420 eat the bugs. You'll live in the pod. You'll say Z-Zem. You'll do all of that if you're willing to 1.00

00:15:27.920 call a man she. Okay. If you're willing to do that and you've demonstrated your willingness and 0.98

00:15:34.340 you're willing to go that far, then it's, it's only a matter of time. The only reason that you

00:15:41.080 haven't started saying fey, fair, and Z-Zem is that the social pressure hasn't yet been intense

00:15:46.920 enough, but when it gets a little bit more intense and they ratchet the, and then, you know, they,

00:15:52.080 they turn the heat up a little bit, trying to ram the rest of this stuff through, you'll go along

00:15:56.660 with it. If you're willing to go along to begin with by calling a man she, which like, just like

00:16:05.040 we talked about yesterday, that is actually more absurd anyways. Like to call a man she is more

00:16:10.960 ridiculous than calling them Z-Zem. Because at least Z-Zem is like, it doesn't, if you call someone 0.98

00:16:19.220 a Z or a Zem, we can't really say that that's untrue because it doesn't, it doesn't mean it. It's

00:16:25.000 just, it's just total nonsense. You're not really, you're not so much participating in a lie. You're

00:16:28.900 just babbling. You're babbling nonsensically on command, which is also not good. But if you call

00:16:37.700 a man she, you actually, you're actually participating in a deception, in a lie. You're

00:16:41.140 going along with it. You're saying something that is not true, which I would say arguably is even worse

00:16:47.280 than simply babbling incoherently. So if you're willing to do that, then you will do the rest of it.

00:16:53.820 All right. This is a report from the Daily Wire. It says, the mother of George Floyd's

00:16:57.740 daughter plans to sue Ye West, Kanye West. I just, I'm sorry. I can't go along with this.

00:17:05.700 His name is Kanye. I can't go along with the Ye thing. Anyway, plans to sue Kanye West for $250

00:17:14.080 million following the rap and fashion mogul's alleged claim that Floyd's death in 2020 was

00:17:19.120 caused by a fentanyl overdose, her lawyers announced on Tuesday. West made the claim after watching the

00:17:24.200 Daily Wire's new documentary on Black Lives Matter. Roxy Washington said she is suing on behalf of

00:17:29.880 herself and Gianna Floyd, the daughter she had with George Floyd. West, who recently changed his first

00:17:36.300 name from Kanye, implied in an interview that aired on Sunday that the 46-year-old Floyd died from an

00:17:41.300 overdose and not at the hands of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was later convicted of

00:17:45.620 murder. West said in the interview, I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out. 0.98

00:17:49.480 One of the things that his two roommates said was that they want a tall guy like me and the way that

00:17:53.840 he died. He said a prayer for eight minutes. They hit him with a fentanyl. West was referring to the

00:17:58.740 greatest lie ever sold documentary by Owens that explored Floyd's death, Chauvin's conviction,

00:18:02.420 the rise of Black Lives Matter. The lawsuit will accuse West of making the comments to promote his

00:18:07.120 brands and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners and associates.

00:18:11.380 Well, this is clearly just totally absurd. First of all, what Kanye West said is accurate.

00:18:21.540 And that is, that's the first, so there are a couple of easy defenses against a defamation claim.

00:18:29.120 And one of those is the truth. You know, the truth is an absolute automatic defense against

00:18:35.880 defamation. If what you're saying, if you can demonstrate that it's true, or, you know,

00:18:40.180 put it the other way, if you want to accuse someone of defamation, you need to be able

00:18:44.100 to prove that what they're saying is not true. So that, that lets Kanye West off the hook in this

00:18:50.300 case, right off the bat. And then the other thing too, there's another defense against defamation,

00:18:57.660 which is that if the person is dead, that's also a defense. So here we have Kanye West saying

00:19:03.140 something accurate about a dead guy and they think they can sue him for $250 million.

00:19:11.540 Go ahead and try, I suppose. I mean, you can, you can sue anyone for anything in, in the United

00:19:18.500 States of America. And there, there, as we've seen, there are many people who are, you know,

00:19:23.400 who are quite willing to test that test, sort of test that theory out that you can sue anyone for

00:19:28.160 anything. And you can, you can sue anyone for anything, but you certainly can't win any lawsuit

00:19:32.860 in this one. They cannot win. All right. Here's an article from the Badger Herald. It says,

00:19:39.460 as the University of Washington, of Wisconsin campus prepares to host Matt Walsh, a right-wing

00:19:43.960 political commentator, members of the LGBTQ and gender non-conforming communities on campus

00:19:50.060 have expressed feelings of hurt and concern. Recent targeted incidents towards the group

00:19:55.360 have exacerbated these emotions. So there have been targeted incidents. The University of

00:20:00.720 Wisconsin, I'll be speaking there. I remember the exact date. I'll be speaking there soon as we

00:20:04.460 continue the, our, what is a woman tour. And we'll be announcing some more dates, by the way,

00:20:09.320 and some more schools pretty soon. But apparently in the lead up to my, to my speech and screening the

00:20:15.820 film at University of Wisconsin, there have been, there have been, there have been targeted incidents

00:20:20.380 at, at, at vulnerable populations. Let's find out what those incidents are. Upon arriving at Sterling

00:20:26.560 Hall Monday, October 10th, um, people with the gender women's studies department, someone named

00:20:34.560 Jessica Leeper found the gender women's studies floor covered in posters for the Walsh event. That's 0.99

00:20:40.920 the, that's the targeted incident. So somebody went in at University of Wisconsin, uh, presumably,

00:20:46.380 you know, a supporter, maybe a member of the Sweet Baby Gang there at University of Wisconsin,

00:20:50.340 went into the, went to the gender women's studies department and just, and, and covered the place 1.00

00:20:56.780 in what is a woman posters. That is, uh, I cannot, I can, I don't know if I can officially endorse that 1.00

00:21:04.680 or not, but I will because that's fantastic. Um, when Leeper first arrived, she only saw a couple of

00:21:12.960 posters and shed said she was annoyed, but not surprised. Upon further investigation, she found

00:21:18.260 that every bulletin board and chalkboard in the hallway had been covered in the posters. I think

00:21:24.480 we have some pictures we'll put up for you too. Well, while Leeper did not count the exact number

00:21:28.460 of posters she took down, she estimated that it was at least 40. Leeper found only one or two event

00:21:33.100 posters in the other departments in Sterling. So this is, this is the incident that happened.

00:21:39.540 Uh, continuing along, according to Leeper, there's a lot of hurt, anger, and exhaustion among the TA

00:21:45.720 students in the department. Quote, any credibility the university had in an academic commitment to

00:21:51.520 providing speakers of diverse opinions is lost in the wake of Monday's targeted act of hate speech.

00:21:57.580 It's a targeted act of hate speech to just put up a poster for my event.

00:22:02.880 You know what? Go back. They took them all down. Go back and, uh, I'm calling on the Sweet Baby Gang. 0.99

00:22:06.960 Go, go back and put the posters back. Just keep putting them back up there.

00:22:11.260 Take them down, put them up. Hey, this is, this is fair play because the left constantly tears down

00:22:17.940 the posters. No matter what campus I go to, no matter where the posters are put up,

00:22:23.560 the leftists come along and tear them down. So this is the game you want to play. This is what we'll play.

00:22:27.320 She continued, YAF has now, with this action, made it abundantly clear that their goal with

00:22:34.260 bringing Walsh to campus is to intimidate and endanger the trans and gender non-conforming 0.90

00:22:39.540 community. Explain that to me, Jessica Leeper. I want you to explain, and maybe you can, you know,

00:22:47.140 maybe you can explain it, but explain in precise detail how you have been endangered

00:22:53.180 by seeing a poster, by seeing a small, like a piece of paper, a yellow piece of paper that

00:23:00.260 says, what is a woman on? How does that endanger you? Can you, can you, can you elaborate? I'd

00:23:05.080 like to hear you elaborate on that. If you can, if you can prove to me that simply, and I don't know

00:23:14.560 how this would work physically. Okay. I don't know what the physical mechanism is. I don't know the

00:23:18.840 science behind it, but maybe you can describe it. Maybe you can explain to me. If you can prove to

00:23:22.200 me that simply seeing the poster will lead directly to physical harm or death, if you can prove that

00:23:29.860 to me, then maybe I would call, I would, I would call off the sweet baby gang and say, stop putting

00:23:33.380 the posters up. I don't want to have, you know, I don't, I don't want there to be bodies all over

00:23:37.980 the place. People that are hurt and dying because they saw a poster. So if you can explain that,

00:23:42.260 then I'd love to hear it. Leeper filed a bias incident report to the Dean of Students. The report

00:23:47.720 asked the school to take the incident seriously as a targeted act of hate speech and revoke Yaf's

00:23:53.260 permission to use the Great Hall for their event. There has not been any follow-up to the report at

00:23:58.040 this time. Oh, and then we have more interviews with the gender studies professor department. This 0.98

00:24:05.020 is all great. A student in the gender women's studies department who wished to remain anonymous

00:24:08.220 due to privacy and safety concerns said that more than anything, they were concerned for the safety and

00:24:12.480 well-being of the trans, non-binary, and GNC community on campus. Quote, we were already upset

00:24:19.080 about Walsh with an explicitly anti-trans project coming to campus. And to me, the event organizers

00:24:25.060 bringing their hate directly to this space just furthers my concern over the whole event and the

00:24:31.040 university's ongoing lack of care for its marginalized students. You know, there is a, when you want to get

00:24:37.980 over a phobia, there's what I think what they call exposure therapy or something like that. But if

00:24:44.320 you're, if you're really afraid of something, and this is what they, this is what they tell you in

00:24:47.900 psychology, that the only way to get over the fear is to just, is to be exposed to it. Like if you want,

00:24:53.980 if you're, I have arachnophobia, I admit, I'm, you know, it's one of my least manly qualities.

00:24:59.360 I really don't like spiders. If I actually wanted to get over that, I would have to be exposed to a

00:25:03.520 spider, you know, maybe have a tarantula crawling on my hand or something like that. I feel like that

00:25:08.620 would traumatize me more, but I'm told that that's one way to get over the phobia. And so I guess my

00:25:13.320 point is that what I would say to the students at the gender studies department at the University

00:25:18.780 of Wisconsin, for whatever reason, you are afraid of these posters. You have a fear of posters.

00:25:25.980 And I think for your own sake, because I am concerned about you and I am worried about your

00:25:31.440 mental health deeply. And so I think the only way to get you over that fear is for more and more of

00:25:39.100 these posters to be put up in the gender studies department for your own sake. Okay. There were

00:25:44.720 40 posters before next, we've got to put a hundred up. How are you going to go through life having this

00:25:51.920 if, if seeing a poster can, can cause you to dissolve into a puddle? I don't know how you function in

00:25:59.700 life. So I want to help you get over that. You're welcome. Some updates now from the culture of

00:26:08.400 death. Eric Swalwell tweets this, MAGA Republicans want women arrested for having an abortion. This is

00:26:15.000 what that looks like. Okay. So he tweeted this, said MAGA Republicans want to arrest women.

00:26:21.200 And so what Eric Swalwell did was he, I don't know if he's a director or producer on this project,

00:26:26.220 there's no credits at the end, but he's put together this skit of what he imagines it will

00:26:33.040 look like for, you know, abortion to be illegal, what the implications will be. And let's watch this

00:26:38.960 get together. 0.96

00:26:39.780 You're weird. He is weird. But cute. Gross. 0.98

00:26:53.780 Mary Anderson? Yes. I have a warrant for your arrest. Arrest for what? Penal code 243 violation. Unlawful termination of a pregnancy. 0.97

00:27:05.780 Unlawful termination of a pregnancy. You got to be kidding me. That, that is my personal business.

00:27:11.600 That's for the courts to decide, ma'am. Your medical records have been subpoenaed and Dr. Landry's already in custody.

00:27:17.600 No, my, my god, you can't just... You will have to submit to a physical examination.

00:27:24.600 What? By who? No, no, no one touches. Sir, sir, sir, can't do that!

00:27:29.320 I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't!

00:27:31.740 Madam. Turn around! Put your hands behind your back! Now! 1.00

00:27:35.260 Why is this happening?

00:27:38.320 We're just enforcing the law here.

00:27:45.320 Elections have consequences.

00:27:48.320 Vote Democrat on November 8th.

00:27:50.320 Stop Republicans from criminalizing abortion everywhere.

00:27:54.320 Protect women's rights and freedom.

00:27:58.320 Please, don't do this. Please.

00:28:03.320 That's good comedy there. It's a great skit.

00:28:09.320 It's a great fun skit.

00:28:11.320 That's what it is. It's just total fantasy.

00:28:15.320 Here's the thing, if they had actual footage,

00:28:18.320 if this was actually happening somewhere,

00:28:21.320 and there was footage of it or anything,

00:28:23.320 they would just show you that, but it's not.

00:28:25.320 So instead, you have to put together this skit.

00:28:30.320 If you're listening to the audio podcast,

00:28:32.320 of course, and maybe you can follow at all the plot,

00:28:35.320 but the cops do end up pulling their guns.

00:28:39.320 They pull their guns out.

00:28:40.320 They bust in the house with their guns drawn.

00:28:43.320 Cart this woman away. 1.00

00:28:46.320 So that is Fantasyland, right?

00:28:50.320 That's this skit that they've put together.

00:28:54.320 Meanwhile, in reality, like back here in realityville,

00:28:59.320 things that are actually happening in that world,

00:29:02.320 like the universe that we live in, in the country we live in.

00:29:06.320 Okay, in that place, there are actually pro-life activists

00:29:13.320 that are being carted away in the middle of the night by armed federal agents.

00:29:17.320 So that's a thing that's actually happening right now in the United States of America.

00:29:24.320 That's a reality.

00:29:29.320 So if you'd be worried about something, I'd be worried more about the reality.

00:29:32.320 Also, you know, there's also the reality of abortion itself.

00:29:39.320 If you were to see footage of that or see a picture of the aftermath of an abortion,

00:29:47.320 there's that reality too, which is far more brutal and terrifying than anything you just saw in Eric Swalwell's skit.

00:29:57.320 And it's also, again, real.

00:30:04.320 Speaking of brutal and terrifying, Stacey Abrams has an idea for what we can do about inflation and the economy.

00:30:13.320 She knows how we can solve the problem.

00:30:15.320 Let's listen to her.

00:30:17.320 You're running for governor of Georgia.

00:30:19.320 I would assume, maybe incorrectly, but while abortion is an issue,

00:30:25.320 it nowhere reaches the level of interest of voters in terms of the cost of gas, food, bread, milk, things like that.

00:30:33.320 What can a governor, what could you do as governor to alleviate the concerns of Georgia voters

00:30:39.320 about those livability, daily, hourly issues that they're confronted with?

00:30:44.320 But let's be clear.

00:30:46.320 Having children is why you're worried about your price for gas.

00:30:50.320 It's why you're concerned about how much food costs.

00:30:52.320 For women, this is not a reductive issue. 1.00

00:30:55.320 You can't divorce being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy from the economic realities of having a child. 0.89

00:31:02.320 And so these are it's important for us to have both and conversations.

00:31:07.320 We don't have the luxury of reducing it or separating them out.

00:31:10.320 But we also have to talk about what a governor can do.

00:31:13.320 A governor can address housing prices.

00:31:15.320 A governor can address the cost of education.

00:31:18.320 A governor can put money into the pockets of everyday hardworking Georgians instead of giving tax cuts to the wealthy.

00:31:24.320 That's what I talk about on the trail.

00:31:26.320 And that's what's resonating.

00:31:28.320 But let's not pretend that women, half the population, especially those of childbearing age,

00:31:34.320 they understand that having a child is absolutely an economic issue.

00:31:38.320 It is only politicians who see it as simply another cultural conversation.

00:31:42.320 It is a real biological and economic imperative conversation that women need to have. 1.00

00:31:49.320 These people are so cartoonishly evil, like comic book villains at this point, not trying to hide it at all.

00:32:01.320 So she's being asked, what are you going to do about the economy?

00:32:05.320 How are you going to help people struggling in the economy? 1.00

00:32:07.320 Her answer is to kill more babies. 1.00

00:32:10.320 Not shocked by that. 1.00

00:32:11.320 Not surprised by it.

00:32:12.320 I know that's their answer.

00:32:14.320 These people are eugenicists.

00:32:15.320 That's always been their answer.

00:32:17.320 That's always been one of their primary arguments for abortion. 0.94

00:32:22.320 Is to get rid of the unwanted.

00:32:25.320 Because they're a burden.

00:32:27.320 They're a strain on society and on the economy. 1.00

00:32:30.320 So let's just kill them and throw their bodies away. 1.00

00:32:33.320 Like literal garbage. 1.00

00:32:35.320 So I've always known that. 0.98

00:32:38.320 But even so, it's startling to hear it said out loud by someone who wants to be governor of a state. 0.97

00:32:46.320 Her answer to the economy is to kill more babies so that they're not being a strain economically and financially to their mothers. 1.00

00:32:58.320 So there are two ways you can look at it, right? 0.96

00:33:01.320 When you've got a struggling economy, as we do, you can work to make the country more livable for people.

00:33:10.320 You know, you can work to make it easier for people to live.

00:33:14.320 You can do that.

00:33:17.320 Or you can just start getting rid of the people.

00:33:21.320 Two approaches.

00:33:25.320 Democrats take the latter.

00:33:27.320 Because they are really truly anti-life and anti-human.

00:33:33.320 That's not just a pejorative, you know, that we throw at them.

00:33:39.320 It is actually true.

00:33:40.320 They are, in principle, anti-human and anti-life.

00:33:44.320 They see it as a bad thing.

00:33:45.320 They see it as a negative thing.

00:33:46.320 They see it as a strain.

00:33:48.320 They see life as a problem that has to be solved.

00:33:53.320 And as far as they're concerned, it's a really easy way to solve it.

00:33:56.320 Just get rid of it.

00:33:59.320 I want to play this for you, too.

00:34:00.320 Stephen A. Smith, who really recently has been leaning into the race hustling thing.

00:34:05.320 I mean, not just recently, but especially recently.

00:34:08.320 He had some thoughts about a little sideline temper tantrum that Tom Brady threw on Sunday.

00:34:13.320 Tom Brady was upset about the way his team was playing.

00:34:16.320 Started yelling at his offensive line.

00:34:18.320 And not an uncommon occurrence in football.

00:34:20.320 People get heated.

00:34:21.320 It happens.

00:34:22.320 But Stephen A. Smith, he saw this, and he saw in it racial implications.

00:34:29.320 Let's see how he was managed to pull that out of the story.

00:34:33.320 Ladies and gentlemen, we need to be consistent.

00:34:39.320 Was Tom Brady passionate, or was he the angry white guy?

00:34:44.320 Because if that was somebody else doing what he was doing with his offensive line, 0.82

00:34:47.320 then we would have been talking about, if that was a black man, 0.87

00:34:50.320 we would have been talking about his temper. 0.63

00:34:52.320 We'd have been talking about the fact that he might not need to act like that with the cameras rolling.

00:34:56.320 I had no problem with it whatsoever.

00:34:58.320 If brothers ain't blocking for you, you 45 years old, you behind the center, 0.99

00:35:02.320 and you getting smacked around, you damn right, you should get in the face. 0.96

00:35:05.320 I have no issue with what Tom Brady did with them whatsoever. 0.99

00:35:08.320 All I'm trying to say is that when a black quarterback does that, 1.00

00:35:11.320 I don't want to hear nothing about it since nobody's saying anything about Tom Brady doing it.

00:35:15.320 And I also don't want to hear about stuff being overblown.

00:35:18.320 He went to Robert Kraft's wedding on a Friday night.

00:35:21.320 He missed the walkthrough, et cetera.

00:35:23.320 They clearly are not on the same page.

00:35:25.320 They don't seem to have everything in order.

00:35:27.320 If this was somebody, now in that regard, there is a Tom Brady category that's separate and apart from everybody else.

00:35:33.320 The anger part when he's getting on the offensive lineman, no, everybody should be lumped into there. 0.95

00:35:38.320 But in terms of him missing a walkthrough because he went to the wedding, damn it, that's Tom Brady. 0.93

00:35:45.320 Then I will forgive him for it. 0.94

00:35:47.320 It just makes up, it encourages Stephen A. Smith because he always has, he's babbling incoherently,

00:35:52.320 and he's always got someone else in the room with him that's the yes man.

00:35:56.320 And so he's saying things don't make any sense.

00:35:58.320 And there's someone in the background you always hear about, mm-hmm, yep, yep, right?

00:36:02.320 Nothing he says there makes any sense at all.

00:36:06.320 Well, why?

00:36:07.320 People aren't criticizing Tom Brady because he's a white guy.

00:36:10.320 What are you talking about?

00:36:11.320 Everyone's criticizing him before.

00:36:13.320 I heard about him.

00:36:14.320 I don't follow the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

00:36:16.320 What are you talking about?

00:36:19.320 This is the advantage you have if you're a leftist.

00:36:22.320 You can decide what elements of reality you want to acknowledge.

00:36:28.320 And you can take those little pieces and then create your own alternative universe, of course, which is what he's doing here.

00:36:34.320 And so he's created a universe where white athletes who have temper tantrums aren't criticized for it. 0.55

00:36:42.320 As though Tom Brady in general hasn't had plenty of critics through his career.

00:36:54.320 Creating this narrative where we are quicker to criticize a black man, especially a black athlete, for being angry than a white man.

00:37:06.320 Where, if anything, it's the reverse. 0.96

00:37:10.320 Because it's always going to be safer to criticize the white guy than the black guy. 0.88

00:37:17.320 And the reason for that is because people like Stephen A. Smith. 0.60

00:37:20.320 They're looking for a reason to racialize everything.

00:37:23.320 All right, one other story I wanted to mention.

00:37:29.320 This is from the Daily Wire a couple days ago.

00:37:31.320 James Corden has been banned from a top New York City restaurant by famed restaurateur Keith McNally,

00:37:37.320 who labeled the TV talk show host the most abusive customer ever and more.

00:37:41.320 McNally took to social media, blasting the host of The Late Late Show as a tiny cretin of a man who had said that he has been 86th as customer of his restaurant, according to the Daily Mail.

00:37:51.320 The term 86th has a number of possible origin stories.

00:37:55.320 Well, who cares about that?

00:37:56.320 Are you giving us the origin stories of the term 86th in the middle of this article?

00:38:00.320 The owner of the iconic New York Balthazar restaurant said that James Corden is a hugely gifted comedian,

00:38:06.320 but a tiny cretin of a man and the most abusive customer that my Balthazar servers have seen since the restaurant opened 25 years ago. 0.98

00:38:15.320 And then he goes on to stories about James Corden being abusive. 0.96

00:38:18.320 I think that apparently the restaurant owner has relented and reversed course.

00:38:22.320 And I think Corden apologized or something like that.

00:38:24.320 But this has kind of opened up the floodgates. 0.87

00:38:27.320 And now there are all these reports coming in, anecdotes about James Corden being a miserable a-hole, basically.

00:38:35.320 Same thing happened with Ellen DeGeneres. 1.00

00:38:37.320 So he's getting the DeGeneres treatment right now.

00:38:39.320 And same thing is happening right now actually with Bill Murray as well for slightly different reasons.

00:38:44.320 So you have these Hollywood types who have a brand of being nice and relatable and goofy and fun and whatever.

00:38:54.320 And that's particularly the case for James Corden, Ellen DeGeneres.

00:38:57.320 That was their whole brand.

00:38:58.320 And then you find out that it's just that.

00:39:00.320 It's a brand.

00:39:01.320 It's an invention.

00:39:02.320 It's a part that they're playing.

00:39:03.320 Which shouldn't be a revelation or a surprise, but somehow for so many people it is.

00:39:07.320 You know, nothing you see on the screen is necessarily real.

00:39:12.320 It might be.

00:39:13.320 It might be real, but it doesn't have to be.

00:39:15.320 And often it isn't.

00:39:16.320 Because it's pretty easy to fake being nice on camera for 60 minutes at a time.

00:39:23.320 Especially if you're paid millions of dollars.

00:39:25.320 But there's one other thing too when I see any story about James Corden.

00:39:28.320 And that is, who are the James Corden fans exactly?

00:39:33.320 Is anyone a James Corden fan?

00:39:36.320 Ellen DeGeneres actually had fans.

00:39:39.320 There were people that liked her.

00:39:40.320 Maybe some people still do.

00:39:41.320 Does James Corden know?

00:39:43.320 See, James Corden to me seems like the Stacey Abrams of Hollywood.

00:39:48.320 They even look similar.

00:39:50.320 They've got a similar look.

00:39:51.320 Similar physique.

00:39:52.320 And it's just, it's been decided by the media that this person is a thing now.

00:39:58.320 And then you start seeing them everywhere.

00:40:00.320 It's been decided that they're beloved and popular.

00:40:03.320 But nobody in the public consents to it.

00:40:05.320 The public didn't decide that the public loves James Corden and Stacey Abrams.

00:40:10.320 We're told that we do.

00:40:12.320 And then one day, sometimes we're told that we don't anymore.

00:40:16.320 So we were told that we love James Corden.

00:40:18.320 And now the media is saying, never mind.

00:40:20.320 You don't love him anymore.

00:40:21.320 He's actually bad.

00:40:23.320 Will the same thing ever happen with Stacey Abrams?

00:40:25.320 Seems unlikely, but we'll see.

00:40:28.320 Now let's get to the comment section.

00:40:30.320 Who makes a Twitter mob fly off the handle with rage?

00:42:04.320 Shell B says, Matt looks really handsome today. It's distracting.

00:42:08.320 Well, I apologize for that.

00:42:10.320 Although maybe the distraction is that you're not wearing your glasses.

00:42:13.320 So let me put those on.

00:42:15.320 Vincent Webb says, watching John Oliver's trans episode, I was waiting for him to mention Matt Walsh.

00:42:21.320 Think he missed his name on purpose, LOL, but got the heat anyway.

00:42:25.320 Yeah, it does seem like a relatively glaring omission.

00:42:32.320 You know, he spent 30 minutes talking about the trans issue and especially what conservatives are saying about it.

00:42:39.320 And what is a woman not mentioned? None of that is mentioned.

00:42:43.320 So it does seem like that's got to be an intentional sort of working around it.

00:42:49.320 But who knows?

00:42:52.320 Dr. Curious says, canned laughter is a clear indicator of a shit show. 1.00

00:42:59.320 Yeah, well, it's not just that. It's really it's the laziest thing imaginable when you've got the laughter. 0.99

00:43:07.320 You know, you've got the laugh track in front of a live studio audience and you have them there not only to laugh, but also to applaud.

00:43:13.320 And I'm not revealing anything you probably don't already know that it's like the audience is also they might pump in some of the some of these sounds to enhance a little bit.

00:43:22.320 But they do have an audience there.

00:43:23.320 But the audience is being directed is being told, you know, when they're supposed to react and encouraged to react.

00:43:29.320 And it's it becomes this crutch.

00:43:31.320 Now, if you're doing a comedy show, it makes sense to have a live audience.

00:43:36.320 So I get that if you're doing an actual late night comedy show, having a live audience makes sense.

00:43:42.320 It's weird. It's weird when you don't when they did these late night.

00:43:45.320 Not that I watched the late night shows hardly ever, but when they tried to do them without an audience during covid, it was just strange.

00:43:51.320 But that's where you really have to decide.

00:43:53.320 And this is what this is one of the things this is the John Oliver and John Stewart.

00:43:58.320 They get away with this where it's like they can't decide if they're if they want to be comedians.

00:44:04.320 Or if they want to be these kind of serious social commentators.

00:44:09.320 And that also allows them to kind of say whatever they want.

00:44:12.320 They can always hide behind being a comedian.

00:44:15.320 Now, I'm not saying that you can be a social commentator and make jokes and at least try to be funny.

00:44:21.320 I'm not saying you can't combine those two things, but it's the style of the show.

00:44:25.320 It's done in the style of a comedy show.

00:44:28.320 And then but then he launches into a 30 minute rant about trans rights.

00:44:38.320 And why do you want the live audience for that? 0.98

00:44:41.320 Well, it's just so that you have, you know, you can you you can throw in your dumb little punchlines and you have the candle after. 0.79

00:44:49.320 But then also, again, it's what they're really there for. 0.92

00:44:52.320 It's not the laughter because there are very few jokes.

00:44:54.320 They're really there for the applause.

00:44:57.320 So John Oliver is a he's a political pundit.

00:45:01.320 That's what he is.

00:45:02.320 And but he makes sure that he speaks in front of live audiences so that he has applause on hand.

00:45:09.320 He needs the applause there to support whatever he's saying.

00:45:12.320 And it's supposed to kind of trick the audience at home because he says something he gets to some some, you know, epic point that he wants to make or that he thinks is epic.

00:45:22.320 He wants us to see it that way.

00:45:24.320 And then you've got the applause of the background is supposed to trick the audience at home into thinking, wow, he really made it.

00:45:29.320 Oh, he really took that.

00:45:30.320 He really took that apart.

00:45:33.320 That's that's how we're supposed to interpret it.

00:45:35.320 Mallow says called it yesterday.

00:45:40.320 There'd be a daily cancellation of weebs knew the weebs couldn't tell Matt was obviously joking.

00:45:46.320 I myself am an anime enjoyer, and I knew immediately he was up to his usual trolling.

00:45:51.320 Y'all couldn't keep your mouth shut.

00:45:53.320 So I've seen this weebs term a few times in the last few days.

00:45:57.320 What is that?

00:45:58.320 You have to explain that to me.

00:45:59.320 Maybe I don't want to know.

00:46:01.320 Weeb, I assume from the context of weeb is someone who watches anime.

00:46:06.320 Where do you get weeb from?

00:46:08.320 I don't really care that much, but I have heard this term a lot.

00:46:11.320 I don't understand it.

00:46:12.320 Ray Mundo says, I would unironically watch Matt reacting to some good old anime.

00:46:19.320 DW already did something like this with Bret and Star Wars.

00:46:22.320 So it wouldn't be completely off the table, right?

00:46:25.320 No, it is.

00:46:26.320 It's off the table for me.

00:46:28.320 I'm not going to do that.

00:46:29.320 I'm not going to do that.

00:46:30.320 And there were many people suggesting that I be subjected to that because I know,

00:46:34.320 although you all claim to be in the Sweet Baby Gang, you still enjoy watching me suffer.

00:46:40.320 It's like one of your favorite things.

00:46:42.320 You're constantly suggesting ways that I could be made to suffer.

00:46:46.320 Let's force him to watch anime.

00:46:48.320 Let's tase him. 0.98

00:46:49.320 Let's throw him into a tank with sharks. 1.00

00:46:51.320 This is how you treat your cult leader?

00:46:54.320 And finally, 92 Jeep says, I'm so confused by John Leguizamo's comment because he hated that film so much.

00:47:06.320 He would show up to the set drunk almost every time because he thought the film would ruin his career.

00:47:11.320 And we're talking about his Mario film, I guess, in the 90s.

00:47:15.320 I didn't know that.

00:47:16.320 It doesn't surprise me.

00:47:17.320 But it did ruin his career.

00:47:19.320 Well, I guess it didn't ruin it because he never really had one exactly.

00:47:22.320 But to the extent that he had one, it ruined it and it should have.

00:47:26.320 As you all saw on the show yesterday, we witnessed the greatest thing ever said during a panel discussion in the history of self-serving echo chambers.

00:47:34.320 In spite of the leftist drivel spewed on stage at the event, a diamond perhaps created by the immense pressure of the panelists' cognitive dissonance was formed.

00:47:43.320 And it was this, the phrase, you can't stop the Matt Walsh.

00:47:47.320 Not you can't stop Matt Walsh.

00:47:48.320 It's you can't stop the Matt Walsh.

00:47:50.320 And you can't.

00:47:51.320 It's true.

00:47:52.320 I am inevitable.

00:47:53.320 And now, like all things I speak into existence, it's on a T-shirt.

00:47:56.320 I made that demand yesterday.

00:47:58.320 And just like that, the next day, it is on a T-shirt.

00:48:01.320 So you can go to dailywire.com slash Walsh to get your, you can't stop the Matt Walsh T-shirt today.

00:48:06.320 Also, the corporate media agenda means the news is presented in a biased way.

00:48:11.320 You know it.

00:48:12.320 I know it.

00:48:13.320 We all know it.

00:48:14.320 Thankfully, there's a way to get the most important news of the day without their narrative.

00:48:16.320 And that's by listening to one of the top news podcasts on Morning Wire.

00:48:19.320 These episodes are available every morning, seven days a week, and they cover stories other media outlets won't touch.

00:48:23.320 And every Sunday until the election, you can also tune in to Election Wire for in-depth coverage, candidate interviews, and much more.

00:48:30.320 It's the most important midterm election in recent history, so you're going to want to stay informed.

00:48:34.320 You'll find Morning Wire and Election Wire on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Daily Wire Plus, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

00:48:40.320 Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:48:42.320 Well, we have another crucially important conversation for the daily cancellation today, and it begins with an I told you so.

00:48:54.320 As I've been warning for years and as the news media is now reporting, the proliferation of emojis has caused a breakdown of communication.

00:49:01.320 Anguish, confusion, despair follow in its wake.

00:49:05.320 Here's the New York Post report, and there have actually been a lot of reports about this in the last few days.

00:49:09.320 I'm just choosing the New York Post, but a lot of reports on the emoji situation.

00:49:13.320 Here's what it says.

00:49:14.320 Gen Zers are calling out the popular thumbs up emoji for being rude and hostile, even saying they feel attacked whenever they see it used in the workplace.

00:49:24.320 After a Reddit poster confessed to being not adult enough to be comfortable with the thumbs up emoji reaction, others chimed in to agree and to call out other common emojis, such as the red heart.

00:49:36.320 Quote, for younger people, the thumbs up emoji is really passive aggressive.

00:49:40.320 A 24 year old Redditor wrote, it's super rude if someone just sends you a thumbs up, they added.

00:49:46.320 So I also had a weird time adjusting because my workplace is the same.

00:49:50.320 Older workers appeared flummoxed by the reaction, noting that they use the thumbs up in work related chats to signal I approve or I understood and I will obey.

00:50:00.320 Of course, you know, side note here is that none of these people are questioning why emojis of any kind are being used in the workplace to begin with.

00:50:07.320 But the New York Post continues on Reddit somewhere less offended by the thumbs up emoji, but felt the heart symbol was actually the most inappropriate.

00:50:15.320 Quote, to me, the heart is reserved for family and friends and has a more intimate meaning of love, while thumbs up is just simple agreeing, commented one person.

00:50:25.320 I actually find a heart emoji weird for work messages.

00:50:27.320 I use heart emojis for things like when someone says, I got a new kitten or Susie did a really great job, added another.

00:50:34.320 But the heart, to many, may be falling out of fashion.

00:50:37.320 A survey of 2,000 people conducted by Prospectus Global showed that a majority of people between the ages of 16 to 29 believe that you are officially old if you use a thumbs up or heart emoji.

00:50:47.320 Now, apparently, this list of outdated or passive-aggressive emojis also includes, according to this study, it includes the okay hand, the poop emoji, the cringing face emoji, and the one with a monkey covering its eyes.

00:51:02.320 All those are, you're not supposed to use anymore.

00:51:04.320 And I agree that all of these emojis should be canceled, but so should, of course, every other emoji, because if you're a literate adult, you should not be communicating with pictures.

00:51:16.320 You should be communicating with words.

00:51:18.320 Now, I realize that I am a lonely voice on this subject.

00:51:21.320 As a society, we have fallen deeply into the emoji's grasp.

00:51:25.320 Everyone uses them now.

00:51:26.320 And every day, it's like invasion of the body snatchers, because every day there's another person who I thought was anti-emoji, and I see them tweet something, and they put the emoji up.

00:51:34.320 And I think, E2?

00:51:36.320 Like, who's left?

00:51:38.320 The emoji finds its way into every text or tweet or email or Facebook post these days, especially every Facebook post, in fact, because nobody under the age of 60 uses that platform.

00:51:47.320 It is Boomer Central, and boomers love emojis perhaps more than anyone else. 0.80

00:51:52.320 And this, I confess, is honestly one of the great disappointments, and I feel, betrayals of my life.

00:51:59.320 Because when people started using emojis, you know, when it first became popular, and I began my campaign against them, I assumed that I'd be able to form an alliance with cranky boomers who I figured don't want any kids on their lawn or any little dumb pictures in their emails and text messages.

00:52:19.320 Like, that's what I figured would happen, but to my heart, boomers became addicted to the emoji, unable to resist its siren song.

00:52:26.320 And this is part of a now familiar, yet I think still little understood phenomenon, where the older generations, though intelligent and having grown up in a world where people did things like read books and write incomplete sentences, still older generations communicate in a bizarrely drunken and semi-coherent manner online.

00:52:45.320 Emojis, all caps, misspellings, weird abbreviations.

00:52:51.320 Most of all, they utilized the ellipsis with just reckless abandon.

00:52:55.320 They dropped the dot, dot, dot at the end of sentences for no reason, and sometimes even in the middle of sentences, giving otherwise normal statements a weirdly kind of ominous feel.

00:53:04.320 My parents do this all the time.

00:53:05.320 They'll say, like, they'll type out, can't wait to see you on Thanksgiving, dot, dot, dot.

00:53:12.420 It's just, I don't understand it.

00:53:14.580 The point is that I've been left alone to fight this battle.

00:53:18.520 The anti-emoji voices are almost nowhere to be found.

00:53:21.400 It's just me against the world.

00:53:22.900 This is my Alamo.

00:53:24.320 Even here at The Daily Wire, many of my colleagues are profligate emoji users.

00:53:28.240 My producer, Sean, sends me emojis as if to taunt me.

00:53:31.160 It goes without saying that Michael Knowles is an unapologetic emoji enthusiast.

00:53:35.120 The other hosts are nearly as bad, or else they've fallen shamefully silent on the issue altogether.

00:53:38.840 Ben Shapiro doesn't use emojis, yet he never rants against them like I do, almost as if he believes that there are more important things to talk about, which is obviously absurd.

00:53:48.620 So it's left to me to make the anti-emoji case again, as I have many times in the past. 0.83

00:53:53.440 And the case boils down to this.

00:53:54.560 It's very simple.

00:53:55.740 Emojis stifle and dumb down human expression.

00:53:58.340 By communicating in pictures, we are increasingly losing our ability to express ourselves through the written word.

00:54:04.240 This is not entirely something I'm just making up.

00:54:07.200 In fact, there has been actual research done which consistently shows that our vocabulary is shrinking.

00:54:12.840 We know and use fewer words than we used to.

00:54:15.500 We're less able to convey our thoughts and emotions through language.

00:54:19.660 And this is at least partly, it seems to me, because we use little cartoons as linguistic crutches.

00:54:24.780 We're devolving all the way back to caveman days, as emojis are essentially just high-tech cave paintings.

00:54:30.620 The written language of primitive man used to consist of pictures scrawled on the wall of a cave.

00:54:36.760 Now our written language consists of pretty much the same thing, though the medium has changed.

00:54:40.440 Now people often defend their emoji dependence by saying that they need, for example, the smiley face in order to communicate that they're happy or in a good mood.

00:54:52.100 But that's what words are for.

00:54:54.640 You should be able to convey that emotional state through the use of actual language.

00:54:58.860 The fact that adults struggle in this regard is troubling to me.

00:55:01.740 I mean, pick up a history book sometime, read examples of the sorts of letters and communications people used to write to each other back in the old days.

00:55:09.600 Even uneducated people, if they could write at all, were often able to express themselves with great depth, using metaphors and creative adjectives,

00:55:18.960 drawing a picture with language to communicate their feelings and hopes and aspirations and fears.

00:55:23.180 Compare that with the written communication of highly educated people today online,

00:55:27.800 and it's like, me happy, smiley face, flag emoji, LMAO.

00:55:32.720 I'm paraphrasing, but that's basically the idea.

00:55:35.220 Now the response to this objection is that an emoji is shorthand.

00:55:39.940 It's just a way of quickly making your emotions or your tone clear to somebody without having to write an essay.

00:55:46.080 But economy of words, being able to convey tone and emotion quickly and efficiently,

00:55:50.700 is also an important skill and one that the emoji prevents us from developing.

00:55:54.320 And besides, as the controversy documented in the post clearly shows, the emoji creates tonal confusion of its own.

00:56:03.360 Is it a passive-aggressive thumbs up or a sincere thumbs up?

00:56:06.800 Is it a sarcastic smiley face or a regular smiley face?

00:56:10.400 Does the okay hand sign emoji mean that everything is okay?

00:56:14.120 Or that the person using it is a white supremacist?

00:56:16.240 There is no way to know.

00:56:18.600 The emoji raises more questions than it answers, creates more problems than it solves.

00:56:25.460 It's our way of avoiding the burden of writing incomplete sentences, but we pay a steep price for our laziness.

00:56:32.180 The price is nothing less than the collapse of language and eventually of society itself.

00:56:38.040 Or if it's maybe not quite that serious, it is still at least annoying to me.

00:56:44.060 And that should be enough.

00:56:45.840 Which is why, not for the first time and likely not for the last, emojis and the people who use them are canceled.

00:56:52.760 And that'll do it for this portion of the show as we move over to the members block.

00:56:56.880 Thanks for watching.

00:56:57.880 Have a great day.

00:56:58.480 Godspeed.

00:56:58.780 Godspeed.
