The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1073 - What We Can Learn From Kanye's Sad Meltdown

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Walsh Show, Kanye West has a psychotic episode on camera, and it's very sad to watch, actually.

00:00:05.980 Also, an official at Buckingham Palace is forced to resign because she asked a black woman where she's from. 0.96

00:00:11.580 It's the dumbest racism controversy all year, and that's really saying something. 0.93

00:00:15.400 Plus, a new hit piece accuses Ron DeSantis of not being fun, to which I say, well, good. 0.97

00:00:21.320 And a court case in France is a huge win for the world's most marginalized group, and by that I mean introverts. 0.70

00:00:27.160 We'll talk about all that and more today on the Matt Walsh Show.

00:01:23.960 That's Hallow.com slash Matt Walsh to reclaim your peace during this holiday season.

00:01:29.740 Well, I have not spent very much time talking about Kanye West on this show,

00:01:34.900 and that's partly because I figure you're getting quite enough Kanye content from every other podcast in the world.

00:01:40.180 It's also because a celebrity going around and saying outlandish things is not the kind of story that I find terribly interesting.

00:01:47.900 I think there are much more important things happening in the world, and I try to focus on those, but yesterday's events do, I think, call for some commentary.

00:01:56.760 Now that the man has fully completed the process of his own self-destruction, there are some things that I think we can learn, crucial takeaways,

00:02:04.700 and I would like to spend a little bit of time talking about them.

00:02:09.060 So as you've no doubt already heard, Kanye appeared on Alex Jones' show yesterday afternoon.

00:02:13.640 The interview is the capstone on a week that began with the rapper storming out of Tim Poole's podcast after Tim offered gentle pushback to Kanye's ideas.

00:02:24.000 He did not storm out on Alex Jones, however, though perhaps considering what he said, it would have been better for him if he had.

00:02:30.660 Again and again throughout the interview, West, wearing a ski mask completely covering his face for the entire conversation,

00:02:37.380 insisted on a point that he felt like it was very important to make.

00:02:41.360 He wanted to make it clear that he thinks Hitler and the Nazis get a bad rap, and here he is introducing that idea.

00:02:50.820 That's right, you're not Hitler, you're not a Nazi, you don't deserve to be called that and demonized.

00:02:56.180 Well, I see good things about Hitler also. 1.00

00:03:01.600 I love everyone, and Jewish people are not going to tell me, you can love us, and you can love what we're doing to you with the contracts, 0.73

00:03:13.760 and you can love what we're pushing with the pornography, but this guy that invented highways,

00:03:21.240 invented the very microphone that I use as a musician,

00:03:23.800 you can't say out loud that this person ever did anything good, and I'm done with that.

00:03:29.380 I'm done with the classifications.

00:03:31.620 Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler. 0.94

00:03:39.200 Especially Hitler. 0.85

00:03:40.160 And somehow that was not the craziest moment of the show.

00:03:45.100 Later, Kanye launched into some sort of puppet act, making fun of Benjamin Netanyahu,

00:03:49.440 and using a bottle of Yoohoo and a Net as puppets.

00:03:53.740 And it took me a while to figure that one out, because I'm not, you know,

00:03:56.160 usually I'm good with the puns, but Net and Yahoo, okay.

00:04:00.000 It's hard to make heads or tails out of this, but here it is.

00:04:03.240 I was tired of picking up the Yahoo and the Netting, so for now he's just Netting.

00:04:09.600 I know some people call him Bebe, know some of you call him Yahoo,

00:04:13.180 but we're going to call him Netting.

00:04:17.260 What you want, Netting? 0.97

00:04:18.620 Hey, yay, right after this, I'm going to say you're crazy. 0.99

00:04:21.440 I'm going to take your family away from you. 0.99

00:04:23.320 We're not done with you yet.

00:04:24.880 You cannot cause free thought.

00:04:26.840 We have to control the history books. 1.00

00:04:28.960 We have to control the banks, and we have to go and kill people. 0.99

00:04:31.980 So, and in a little while, hopefully you're going to take the mask off, 0.98

00:04:40.860 because is this actually yay here?

00:04:44.720 Right.

00:04:45.640 Okay, then.

00:04:46.500 And he also returned to his Hitler fanboy routine, like I said, several times,

00:04:51.180 but perhaps most notably with this.

00:04:55.560 I like Hitler. 1.00

00:04:57.080 I don't like Hitler.

00:04:58.480 And I know you're trying to be shocking with that.

00:04:59.960 I'm not trying to be shocking.

00:05:01.200 I like Hitler. 1.00

00:05:02.500 I do not.

00:05:03.480 The Holocaust is not what happened. 0.67

00:05:06.460 Let's look at the facts of that.

00:05:07.820 And Hitler has a lot of redeeming qualities. 0.98

00:05:09.860 So, he said those exact words, I like Hitler, multiple times. 0.90

00:05:15.460 At other points in the show, he also said that we need to stop dissing the Nazis.

00:05:19.120 He doesn't want to diss them.

00:05:20.400 He said he doesn't like describing Nazis as evil.

00:05:24.260 And then Kanye went home and hopped on Twitter, where he tweeted an image of a star of David combined with a swastika.

00:05:30.200 And he also tweeted multiple times in support of Balenciaga, claiming that God loves the company, and then saying this, quote,

00:05:38.200 I stand by Balenciaga and denounce all witch hunts, and I cancel cancel culture.

00:05:43.640 Jesus is king, ending trafficking, doesn't start or end with a fashion campaign for Christ's sake.

00:05:50.820 Well, no, Kanye.

00:05:51.860 We should absolutely cancel companies that put out BDSM ads featuring children.

00:05:56.980 They should be canceled, condemned, boycotted.

00:05:59.320 I'm against witch hunts, too, unless there's an actual witch to hunt. 0.84

00:06:03.940 But I suppose Kanye had already defended Hitler, so why not child pornographers while he's at it?

00:06:08.460 Eventually, Elon Musk suspended Kanye from Twitter, what appears to be, as far as I could tell, a temporary 12-hour suspension,

00:06:15.200 ostensibly because of the swastika image, which Elon said is an example of inciting violence, which is absurd, obviously.

00:06:24.080 You either believe in free speech or you don't.

00:06:25.780 Now, Elon is running the platform as a free speech platform, or he isn't.

00:06:30.460 You know, it's one or the other.

00:06:31.300 He said in the past that people are free to post what they want as long as they aren't directly calling for violence against another individual or group.

00:06:39.900 Well, Kanye did not directly call for violence.

00:06:42.800 What he posted and what he said to Alex Jones can certainly be described as objectionable, insane, outrageous, immoral, along with many other similar adjectives.

00:06:52.180 But free speech means you're free to say objectionable, insane, outrageous, immoral things.

00:06:57.020 Of course, now, there's an argument you could make, and I've seen some people make this argument, that maybe Elon suspended Kanye for his own good,

00:07:05.060 kind of like a mercy-killing approach on social media, just to get him to cool down, stop talking, put down the shovel that he was using to bury himself.

00:07:13.540 And since Elon owns the platform, he has every right to make that call if he wants to.

00:07:16.920 But if that's what Twitter is now, if Twitter is a kingdom and Elon is the king and he gets to make the rules as he goes along, arbitrary as they may be, then he should say that.

00:07:27.220 You know, again, he has every right to run it that way.

00:07:29.280 It is his platform.

00:07:29.960 He bought it fair and square.

00:07:31.200 But he should say so for the sake of honesty and transparency.

00:07:34.740 What he's actually said is that there will be free speech.

00:07:37.240 And if that's what he's claiming, he should follow through on that, even in these hard case situations.

00:07:44.120 Now, as for the rest of the story, first of all, it should go without saying.

00:07:50.640 I would certainly hope that it does. 0.98

00:07:52.620 But just to be clear about this, Hitler was a degenerate, mass-murdering lunatic. 0.93

00:07:57.420 So if you're going to put your own credibility on the line and your reputation and your name and your career and everything to defend someone or to point out their redeeming qualities, quote unquote, it shouldn't be for the sake of one of history's greatest monsters. 0.97

00:08:13.220 And not incidentally, Hitler was also a man who, by the way, would have thrown Kanye himself into the gas chamber without hesitation. 0.80

00:08:21.080 Kanye is rallying to the defense of a man and of a group that would have considered him subhuman because of his race. 0.54

00:08:28.440 So this is pure, self-loathing, self-immolating madness.

00:08:34.800 And on that point, second, it's hard not to laugh about some of this because it's so awkward and weird.

00:08:42.380 And that's just the natural response when you see something awkward and weird.

00:08:46.740 But in truth, you know, it's actually not funny.

00:08:49.460 This man is having a mental breakdown.

00:08:51.080 He's losing his mind. 1.00

00:08:52.360 He is sick. 0.50

00:08:53.200 He is not well.

00:08:54.760 He is in very bad shape.

00:08:57.400 Nothing could be more clear.

00:09:00.340 And yet he has no one in his life, apparently, who cares about him or loves him because there's no one talking any sense to him. 0.96

00:09:06.040 He surrounded himself with vultures and parasites who have leeched onto him and are feeding off of his notoriety and encouraging him to plunge even deeper into insanity for their own benefit. 0.98

00:09:18.640 It is a pitiful spectacle to behold. 0.96

00:09:23.800 Kanye West was truly once an artistic genius and an important cultural voice once.

00:09:29.040 But now he's eating himself alive on camera to the delight of the gawking crowd.

00:09:37.780 Kanye has built a bonfire and thrown himself into it.

00:09:41.140 If there was ever anyone in his life who was willing to pull him away from the flames, he's obviously cut them out at this point, leaving only the enablers and the coattail riders.

00:09:51.240 And now he is hopelessly and helplessly spiraling into the abyss.

00:09:55.660 And that's what we're watching.

00:09:58.280 This is not an excuse for Kanye.

00:10:00.280 It's simply an observation.

00:10:01.940 It's very clear.

00:10:03.180 The guy's just not well.

00:10:06.600 And the fact is that fame can drive anyone into madness.

00:10:10.120 I mean, once you reach a certain level of fame, you're living something that can barely be described as a human existence.

00:10:16.240 You become, especially these days, a product, a brand, an entity.

00:10:19.820 You're no longer viewed as a person, but you are viewed.

00:10:24.300 You're not viewed as a person, but you are viewed by everyone all the time.

00:10:30.320 You are on display all the time.

00:10:32.760 You have none of the anonymity that normal people take for granted.

00:10:35.840 No privacy, no ability to ever be just sort of a face in the crowd.

00:10:40.280 And when you're at Kanye's level, you're so famous that the people around you can become famous secondhand.

00:10:48.040 And so you find yourself surrounded by self-interested fame whores who continually push you into the spotlight so that they can have a piece of it for themselves. 1.00

00:10:56.320 And if you're already prone to eccentricity, as all artists are, this kind of life can quite easily destroy you, which is why, through history, we have seen...

00:11:05.900 Now, the self-destruction takes many forms.

00:11:08.340 This is a rather unique form, but certainly more common things like artists succumbing to drug abuse, alcoholism, suicide, those sorts of things.

00:11:20.000 Again, this is not an excuse for Kanye.

00:11:21.760 It's just an attempt at an explanation as to what we're seeing here.

00:11:25.380 Third point, perhaps most importantly, I would hope that Kanye West's psychotic break, which is what this is, would be enough to finally dissuade conservatives from falling madly in love with any celebrity who says one thing they agree with.

00:11:45.560 You know, Kanye West was talking about this thing or that thing kind of babbling over the years, and he's made one or two comments that conservatives liked, and suddenly he was a conservative hero. 0.87

00:11:57.360 So on the right, we've been desperate for celebrity approval and celebrity endorsement for so long, and it's like, it's pathetic.

00:12:06.440 And it's given rise to this unfortunate habit of launching in, latching onto any famous person who ever so mildly or tentatively affirms our position on any topic.

00:12:19.900 I would hope that this would be enough to break that celebrity fawning spell.

00:12:23.640 There's nothing wrong with agreeing with a celebrity or even congratulating them when they take a stand on an issue.

00:12:31.320 Like, you know, a month ago or a month and a half ago, which feels like a million years now, but when he came out and spoke up for the unborn, there was nothing wrong at the time, as I did, saying that's the correct view.

00:12:46.540 I'm glad he said that.

00:12:49.600 So there's that.

00:12:51.020 That's one thing.

00:12:51.720 But what we shouldn't be doing is making them into a standard bearer, a hero, a champion of the cause.

00:13:00.260 You know, we shouldn't be doing that automatically just because they're famous.

00:13:05.340 Especially, by the way, you know, one thing is like, somebody is famous, and then they come along out of nowhere, and they say one, quote, conservative thing, and then they become, you know, they get put on this pedestal.

00:13:19.280 And it's like, along with all the other reasons why that's a problem to respond that way, it's also, they haven't earned it.

00:13:24.640 You know, they haven't been in the cause fighting for this.

00:13:26.340 They haven't done anything for it.

00:13:28.340 They just happen to say one thing.

00:13:29.960 And in many cases, these are people who, up to that point, had been contributing to the cultural rot.

00:13:37.580 And then they say one thing, and it's just, it's an unearned position.

00:13:40.980 Which means that you also can't trust the person.

00:13:47.640 Like, they're going to disappoint you.

00:13:50.380 And if I was optimistic, I would say that maybe the right will be smarter about this kind of thing from now on.

00:13:56.360 But I'm not optimistic.

00:13:57.260 In fact, some on the right seem to have decided that they've boarded the Kanye ship and now have to go down with it, which is, which is really, which is also sad.

00:14:06.120 That's, that's the, you know, that's the word of the day here, sad.

00:14:09.680 Because you don't need to.

00:14:11.540 If you defended him in the past and you were on the Kanye thing, you know, and it's okay to say now, this guy's got problems, and then just move on with your life.

00:14:19.380 You can do that.

00:14:20.100 But, I've seen some defending him, even still, looking for excuses, coming up with all these outlandish copes and rationalizations.

00:14:29.000 Claiming, for example, that Kanye's pro-Hitler stuff was just him advocating for radical Christian love.

00:14:34.860 Love thy enemy, they say.

00:14:36.180 But that's not what Kanye said.

00:14:37.320 He made it clear explicitly, he likes Hitler.

00:14:39.740 He didn't even say love.

00:14:40.580 He said, I like him.

00:14:42.220 Like.

00:14:43.560 Okay, the Bible does not call us to like everyone, much less mass murdering lunatics.

00:14:50.100 He said, you think he has a lot of redeeming qualities.

00:14:55.840 A lot.

00:14:57.520 He said, we shouldn't diss the Nazis. 0.90

00:14:59.560 Now, that's not loving thy enemy. 0.79

00:15:01.560 That's just insane, is what that is.

00:15:05.540 It's also, we should note, a really big favor to the left.

00:15:10.500 Okay?

00:15:11.320 Who benefits from all this?

00:15:13.680 Well, they benefit from it.

00:15:16.180 In fact, if I was going to come up with some conspiracy theory to explain Kanye's pro-Hitler pivot, I would say that he's a leftist on a kamikaze mission to embarrass and discredit as many conservatives as possible.

00:15:27.440 Now, I don't think that.

00:15:29.300 Okay?

00:15:29.520 That's not the theory that I hold. 0.97

00:15:31.120 I think he's simply mentally ill, as I've already covered.

00:15:33.460 But that's the only conspiracy theory that even would begin to make sense if you're looking for one. 0.79

00:15:38.580 Because the left is the only beneficiary here.

00:15:40.720 That's why they're so gleeful about Kanye's plunge into madness.

00:15:43.700 They're not upset about it.

00:15:44.640 They don't think it's sad.

00:15:45.720 They can't get enough of it.

00:15:47.000 They love it.

00:15:49.240 They want him to be trending with all this crazy stuff.

00:15:52.040 They love every minute of it.

00:15:53.140 Why wouldn't they?

00:15:54.480 Why wouldn't they love it?

00:15:55.520 I mean, some of their ideological opponents hitched their wagon to Kanye, and then Kanye proceeded to drive right off a cliff with those people attached, which is a very fortunate turn of events for the left.

00:16:08.960 But not for anyone else.

00:16:10.140 And especially not for Kanye himself, who is a troubled man who needs help, not attention.

00:16:20.400 Which is why, now that I've said my piece, I will go back to what I was doing before and not give it to him.

00:16:28.700 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:16:40.140 T'was a show before Christmas, and through the studio, no other host was stirring, not even Shapiro.

00:16:53.900 All the merch was set on the shelves with care, in hopes that Sweet Daddy soon would be there.

00:17:02.760 The sweet babies were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of walruses danced in their heads.

00:17:10.140 Then over on Twitter, there arose such a clatter.

00:17:15.260 I was trending on the timeline for some erroneous matter. 0.94

00:17:20.060 But I ignored it like every other time, shrugging off the satanic, unhinged, blue hair slime. 1.00

00:17:28.200 Then my merch-making elves created a collectible new batch, adding to my coveted program, the Sweet Santa Baby Patch.

00:17:36.200 They'll sell out from my store, so don't wait, don't stop.

00:17:40.980 Just head on over to dailywire.com slash shop.

00:17:44.560 You know, I've revealed to you many times that I struggle with nausea, especially when I'm in the back of a car taking an Uber or something like that.

00:17:54.440 And the way they drive those cars certainly doesn't help my case at all.

00:17:57.580 But as you know, I've solved that problem with relief band.

00:18:24.480 That's why they call it relief band.

00:18:50.900 Use promo code Walsh for 20% off plus free shipping.

00:18:54.740 Well, here's a story that's gotten a lot of attention, especially over on the pond.

00:18:58.260 Over the pond, not on the pond, over the pond.

00:19:01.220 Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say.

00:19:02.860 Across the ocean.

00:19:03.380 Reading from the Daily Wire's report, this is what it says.

00:19:07.040 A Buckingham Palace official has resigned after she allegedly asked a black guest where she really came from.

00:19:14.580 The late Queen Elizabeth's lady-in-waiting, Susan Hussey, made the remarks during an event that took place at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday per the BBC.

00:19:23.860 The publication noted that she asked the background question of charity founder Ngozi Fulani.

00:19:29.680 Fulani said that she was totally stunned by Hussey's comments.

00:19:32.820 The 83-year-old former royal official is Prince William's godmother.

00:19:37.940 A spokesperson for Prince William said,

00:19:39.840 Racism has no place in our society and called the comments unacceptable,

00:19:44.540 saying that it is right that the individual has stepped aside with immediate effect.

00:19:49.980 Eyewitness Mandu Reid, who is leader of the Women's Equality Party, told BBC News

00:19:54.140 that she found the comments by Hussey to be offensive, racist, and unwelcoming.

00:19:58.420 She also recalled having a sense of incredulity upon hearing the question.

00:20:02.820 Quote, we take this incident extremely seriously and have investigated immediately to establish the full details.

00:20:10.100 That's the statement from the Buckingham Palace.

00:20:14.060 Statement continued.

00:20:15.040 In this instance, unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments have been made.

00:20:18.620 We have reached out to Ngozi Fulani on this matter and are inviting her to discuss all elements of her experience in person if she wishes.

00:20:25.880 In the meantime, the individual concerned would like to express her profound apologies for the hurt caused

00:20:30.180 and has stepped aside from her honorary role with immediate effect.

00:20:34.320 All members of the household are being reminded of the diversity and inclusivity policies which they are required to uphold at all times.

00:20:40.780 Okay, so this official, Susan Hussey, 83 years old, just immediately thrown under the bus by everybody around her.

00:20:51.160 Like everyone around her, throwing her under the bus.

00:20:55.040 83 years old.

00:20:56.820 Including people that, you know, have known her for decades.

00:21:01.560 Right out of the bus.

00:21:02.580 Because she asked a black woman where she's from. 0.94

00:21:09.140 And of course, this is being condemned across the board in the media, you know, by the media in the UK and here in the States.

00:21:14.460 And this all began with a Twitter post.

00:21:16.880 This is how this all got out here.

00:21:18.040 A Twitter post where Ngozi Fulani gives her version of the exchange.

00:21:22.420 And remember, this is her version.

00:21:24.380 So she tweeted this from her account, Sista Space.

00:21:28.940 It says, mixed feelings about yesterday's visit to Buckingham Palace.

00:21:32.620 Ten minutes after arriving, a member of staff, Lady SH, approached me, moved my hair to see my name badge. 1.00

00:21:39.340 The conversation below took place.

00:21:41.020 The rest of the event is a blur.

00:21:42.740 It's a blur because she was so traumatized.

00:21:44.680 So traumatized by it.

00:21:47.160 And then, well, here's the example.

00:21:48.660 Now, this again, this is her version of, this is this woman's version of this exchange.

00:21:55.300 So Lady SH says, where are you from?

00:21:59.880 Sista Space.

00:22:01.060 No, where do you come from?

00:22:02.600 We're based in Hackney.

00:22:04.180 No, what part of Africa are you from?

00:22:05.800 I don't know.

00:22:06.240 They didn't leave any records.

00:22:07.740 Well, you must know where you're from.

00:22:08.880 I spent time in France.

00:22:09.760 Where are you from?

00:22:10.380 Here, UK.

00:22:11.600 No, but what nationality are you?

00:22:13.300 I am born here.

00:22:14.000 I am British.

00:22:15.000 No, but where do you really come from?

00:22:16.500 Where do your people come from?

00:22:18.660 My people, Lady, what is this?

00:22:20.620 She says, oh, I can see I'm going to have a challenge getting you to say where you're from.

00:22:23.560 Now, where did you come?

00:22:24.760 When did you first come here?

00:22:26.380 Lady, I am a British national.

00:22:27.880 My parents came here in the 50s.

00:22:30.060 Oh, I knew we'd get there in the end.

00:22:32.360 You're Caribbean. 0.79

00:22:33.360 No, Lady, I am of African heritage, Caribbean descent, and British nationality.

00:22:37.520 Okay.

00:22:39.180 That's her, that's her, that is her transcripted, right, version of what happened.

00:22:44.340 There's absolutely no reason to trust that it's 100% accurate.

00:22:47.600 Even if it was an honest person, like if you're, if you're after the fact, writing out a lengthy

00:22:52.680 exchange like this, it's not going to be 100% accurate, even if you're honest, which by all

00:22:57.880 accounts, this woman is not. 0.55

00:22:59.620 And so that's, that's her version making Susan Hussey look as bad as possible. 1.00

00:23:06.600 And yet she still looks perfectly fine to me. 0.98

00:23:10.620 And even in Fulani's version, she, Fulani, comes off as petty and ridiculous. 1.00

00:23:15.840 You know what she's trying to ask you. 0.97

00:23:17.680 Okay.

00:23:18.180 Where are you, what's, where are you originally from?

00:23:22.980 What's your ancestry?

00:23:24.820 Like, that's what she's trying to get to. 0.83

00:23:27.000 You know that.

00:23:29.740 And yet she's being difficult about it.

00:23:31.740 Well, I don't know what you mean.

00:23:32.540 What do you mean?

00:23:32.920 I'm from here.

00:23:33.540 I'm from, what do you mean?

00:23:35.080 Most recently?

00:23:36.280 Oh, I just came from McDonald's.

00:23:37.680 What are you talking about?

00:23:41.300 And now, now, but she says she was, in fact, she's gone to the media, Fulani has, and said

00:23:45.540 that this was traumatic.

00:23:46.940 She is traumatized by it.

00:23:48.980 The whole rest of the event is a blur.

00:23:50.520 She barely even remembers it.

00:23:51.900 She's been walking around in a daze because of this.

00:23:55.340 Here she is on British media talking about it.

00:23:57.100 Let's watch a little bit of this clip.

00:23:58.960 Tell me how you feel about the palace saying, you know, they've, they've asked if you wish

00:24:02.480 to come and talk it through in person.

00:24:04.120 Nobody from the palace has spoken to me.

00:24:05.960 I don't know what, what anyone's talking about.

00:24:08.660 I have not been in communication, direct communication, unless they've spoken to somebody from sister

00:24:14.820 space, like a member of staff.

00:24:16.160 I personally have had no conversation with anybody from the palace.

00:24:20.940 I don't know about an invitation.

00:24:22.600 We have, well, let me read this out so people know.

00:24:25.040 We have, this is from the palace statement.

00:24:26.580 We have reached out to Ngozi Fulani on this matter and are inviting her to discuss all

00:24:31.160 elements of her experience in person if she wishes.

00:24:33.660 Right.

00:24:35.680 I mean, um, like I said, I'm about positive solution.

00:24:39.340 This is 16 days of activism and I am not going to contradict what we're about at sister

00:24:44.760 space.

00:24:45.240 Okay.

00:24:45.500 So of course I'd be happy to have a... 0.99

00:24:47.780 Shut up. 0.97

00:24:48.920 Uh, I'm, I'm, I want to find a solution. 0.99

00:24:53.420 A solution to what?

00:24:54.320 Did someone ask you where you're from?

00:24:55.460 What kind of solution?

00:24:56.140 What's the, what's the solution?

00:24:56.980 Well, and why would anyone reach, someone needs to reach out to me about this for what?

00:25:02.920 Apparently you can't be spoken to without collapsing into, uh, into a puddle of tears.

00:25:08.740 So maybe they shouldn't.

00:25:10.440 Maybe it's just better if they don't reach out to you.

00:25:13.360 We should mention, by the way, this woman, Ngozi is apparently originally named Marlene.

00:25:18.340 So the name was changed to Ngozi from Marlene and she's an activist, apparently funded by

00:25:25.640 BLM. 0.71

00:25:26.180 No surprise there.

00:25:27.780 And let's put this up again.

00:25:28.840 Here's, can we go back to the picture of her, of this woman?

00:25:32.820 No, the picture of her in the outfit.

00:25:35.380 There it is.

00:25:36.000 Okay.

00:25:36.360 That's what she wore to the event. 0.99

00:25:37.780 So she goes out of her way to appear as someone from another place, another culture.

00:25:43.820 And then if you ask her about it, you're racist.

00:25:47.280 So it's a trap.

00:25:48.440 It's a, it is a setup that that's all this is.

00:25:50.780 It's, it's, it's, it's very clear that she went into this waiting for someone to ask her

00:25:56.800 where she's from so that she could then accuse them of racism. 0.99

00:25:59.320 That's all it ever is with these race hustlers. 1.00

00:26:01.460 Everything's a trap.

00:26:02.340 Everything's a setup. 0.98

00:26:04.160 And it's all built around this ridiculous trope that somehow it's racist to ask a non-white

00:26:08.940 person where they're from, because we have to specify non-white person.

00:26:11.680 So obviously if you're a white person and someone asks you where you're from, you know,

00:26:15.560 you're not allowed to be offended by that.

00:26:16.920 If you're a white person and you go to a predominantly non-white country and people ask you where

00:26:21.600 you're from, it would, and you were offended by it.

00:26:24.400 Nobody would take your offense seriously.

00:26:26.420 Especially imagine if you're a white person in a predominantly non-white country and you're,

00:26:32.080 you go to an official event wearing some kind of traditional garb, like, like an Amish 0.98

00:26:36.400 beard with the, you know, the hat and the suspenders or a Scottish kilt or something, some

00:26:40.740 sort of cultural garb that is, you know, associated with, with a, with a predominantly white culture.

00:26:48.920 And imagine if you wore that and then you got offended when anyone asked you a question

00:26:53.340 about it.

00:26:55.340 Let's see, you're, you're some part of Africa wearing a Scottish kilt and someone comes up 1.00

00:26:59.960 to you and says, well, what's, what's that all about?

00:27:01.520 Where are you from?

00:27:02.460 Well, how dare you ask me that?

00:27:04.560 What?

00:27:04.960 Just because I'm wearing this, you would ask me?

00:27:07.320 How dare you?

00:27:08.000 It's none of your business.

00:27:10.320 Oh, please.

00:27:11.520 And of course, Hollywood has gotten in on the outrage action.

00:27:14.260 The actor Riz Ahmed posted some kind of slam poetry that he wrote about this subject.

00:27:19.720 And I don't know if he wrote this because of, you know, for this woman or if he had written

00:27:23.980 it before.

00:27:25.240 But anyway, this is what he posted in support of this poor traumatized woman.

00:27:29.720 Oh my gosh.

00:27:53.820 No, not anything you say is wrong.

00:27:54.800 Just say where you're from.

00:27:55.700 That's it. 1.00

00:27:56.100 Just answer the damn question. 1.00

00:28:00.760 Jeez. 1.00

00:28:02.240 You know, people ask where you're from because they're interested in you.

00:28:06.540 And these race hustlers, they're always claiming that they're being erased and they're being

00:28:10.760 marginalized.

00:28:11.180 I guarantee you this Ngozi fraud, if, if, if rather than asking her where, if nobody had 1.00

00:28:16.500 asked her where she's from, if no one had brought it up, then she would be saying, I'm

00:28:20.400 being erased.

00:28:21.240 I'm being otherized.

00:28:22.400 No one's interested in me.

00:28:26.060 So it's a game.

00:28:27.060 It's a setup.

00:28:27.620 As I said, these people, they just set up booby traps everywhere they go, everywhere they

00:28:33.020 go.

00:28:33.460 There's booby traps all over the place and they're just waiting for you to fall into it

00:28:37.060 because they're such disingenuous, scavenging little vultures.

00:28:41.400 And the appropriate response to someone like Ngozi Fulani, who's like, I'm traumatized. 0.99

00:28:47.660 My feelings are hurt.

00:28:48.660 Good.

00:28:49.020 I'm glad.

00:28:50.520 Oh, you're, oh, really?

00:28:51.600 It hurts you that bad?

00:28:52.700 Fantastic.

00:28:53.320 I don't care.

00:28:54.360 Your feelings are meaningless. 0.99

00:28:57.560 You manipulative little fraud. 0.96

00:29:01.340 And by the way, if it's not disingenuous, I'm almost like giving her the benefit of the 0.89

00:29:10.520 doubt, just assuming that this, that she's not actually this psychotically over emotional

00:29:18.220 and, and unstable.

00:29:20.320 And I'm assuming that this is just a disingenuous game that she's playing to set traps for someone.

00:29:24.360 But if it's not disingenuous and this is a sincere reaction to being asked where you're

00:29:30.560 from, well, then again, that's just psychotic and, and, and you have to get over it.

00:29:36.860 When someone talks to you and says something to you, their intentions are what matter.

00:29:44.600 Okay.

00:29:44.760 You take it in the spirit that it's intended.

00:29:47.060 That's, that's what adults do.

00:29:50.060 So if someone says something to you, and even if it's a, it's like a pet peeve or

00:29:54.300 whatever, something that we all have pet peeves.

00:29:55.780 We all have things that people might say or do that it's, it's unreasonable for us to

00:29:59.180 be annoyed.

00:29:59.640 And yet we are, it's what a pet peeve is.

00:30:01.220 So at best, this is a pet peeve.

00:30:02.760 Someone asks you where you're from and it makes you really upset.

00:30:04.700 It's a pet peeve.

00:30:06.020 Okay.

00:30:06.200 It's your pet.

00:30:06.720 That's your thing.

00:30:07.740 It's unreasonable.

00:30:08.580 It's not, it's not a reasonable response.

00:30:10.200 There's nothing wrong with someone asking it, but you get annoyed by it.

00:30:12.960 Fine.

00:30:13.800 That's your problem though.

00:30:15.360 That's not anyone else's problem.

00:30:17.060 You have to deal with that.

00:30:18.300 That's your issue.

00:30:18.900 And as a, as a, as a, a mature adult in a social situation, your job is to understand

00:30:27.960 the intent and to take it in the spirit that's intended.

00:30:34.740 But what they've set up on the left here is this game where, well, intention doesn't matter.

00:30:39.720 So when, when the speaker says something, their own reason for speaking doesn't matter.

00:30:45.300 All that matters are the feelings of the, of the, the, the listener.

00:30:52.320 But that's just, it's, you can't have human communication that way.

00:30:57.960 Human communication only works if, you know, you're interested in the intent behind what's

00:31:06.400 being said.

00:31:08.600 Of course, it's the same game that the alphabet club plays.

00:31:11.200 You know, the alphabet people, people address in these androgynous, confused way.

00:31:15.280 And, you know, the purple hair and the piercings and all that.

00:31:17.880 And they, they, they try to look as confused and confusing as possible.

00:31:21.760 And then if you quote misgender them, or if you ask about their pronouns in a way they

00:31:25.460 don't like, then they can get offended by it.

00:31:27.740 Their whole aura, their whole personality, their whole, everything about them is set up

00:31:33.160 to just be a manipulative trap for everyone around them.

00:31:37.800 Because the only thing they're looking to get out of any interaction at all is their

00:31:42.960 own victimization.

00:31:45.000 Because victimhood is power.

00:31:47.860 Only appropriate response is just to dismiss these people, utterly dismiss them with contempt.

00:31:55.380 All right.

00:31:57.560 Report in the Atlantic about the real Ron DeSantis.

00:32:00.840 A bunch of never Trump guys like Rick Wilson have contributed to this report, this hit piece.

00:32:06.140 Reading some of it, it says,

00:32:07.160 He was standoffish in general, the Virginia Republican Barbara Comstock, a former House

00:32:12.200 colleague of DeSantis, told me,

00:32:14.240 A strange no-eye-contact oddball, Rick Wilson, a Republican media consultant, wrote on Resolute

00:32:19.660 Square.

00:32:20.540 I'd rather have teeth pulled without anesthetic than be on a boat with Ron DeSantis, says

00:32:24.660 Max Stipanovich, a Tallahassee lobbyist who set sail from the GOP over his revulsion for

00:32:29.640 Trump and his knockoffs.

00:32:31.160 To sum up, DeSantis is not a fun, convivial dude.

00:32:34.120 He prefers to keep his earbuds in.

00:32:36.600 His step-away-from-the-vehicle vibes are strong.

00:32:39.000 I think he is going to run into some challenges.

00:32:40.840 Carlos Curbella, a former Republican congressman from Florida who served with DeSantis in the

00:32:45.700 House, told me,

00:32:46.800 It's that question that often comes up in politics.

00:32:48.540 The question of, would you want to have a beer with him?

00:32:50.820 This is a big-time cliche, of course, but it does feel pertinent.

00:32:53.860 Will he grow on voters like a catchy song or like mold?

00:32:57.280 DeSantis has his robotic quality that he has to shed, Curbella says.

00:33:01.120 Everything else checks the box.

00:33:02.300 He's smart and competent and committed to his ideology.

00:33:04.320 He just has to humanize himself.

00:33:05.820 So that's the whole Atlantic hit piece.

00:33:08.580 It all revolves around this idea that Ron DeSantis isn't fun.

00:33:12.740 He isn't a fun guy to be around.

00:33:15.320 And he isn't, you wouldn't want to have a beer with him or hang out with him on a boat.

00:33:19.200 And to that I say, good.

00:33:25.660 Okay, fantastic.

00:33:28.300 I don't need fun politicians.

00:33:32.620 Okay, I don't need that.

00:33:34.780 In fact, I've had quite enough of that.

00:33:36.580 Like, fun is not what we need.

00:33:38.500 I don't need to feel, if you're a politician and I'm deciding whether or not I support you,

00:33:43.460 I don't need to feel like I could be your friend.

00:33:47.280 I don't need you to be my friend.

00:33:49.220 And if you're running for president, I don't need you to be my friend.

00:33:52.280 I don't need to feel like I'm the friend of the president because I'm not.

00:33:55.320 And this whole thing, and they're right, it is a cliche.

00:33:58.860 This, I want you, would you sit down and have a beer with him?

00:34:00.600 Who gives a damn if you'd sit down and have a beer with him?

00:34:03.600 I wouldn't want to sit down and have a beer with any politician. 0.98

00:34:06.460 These are like the most boring people on the planet.

00:34:09.080 I mean, there are a few exceptions.

00:34:12.060 But for the most part, I don't have a beer with any of these people.

00:34:15.920 So what?

00:34:16.620 That's not what I need.

00:34:17.560 I just need you to be a leader.

00:34:18.900 I need you to know how to get things done.

00:34:21.880 That's all that matters.

00:34:22.680 And look, as we get into 2024, here are the things that I care about.

00:34:28.400 And this is it.

00:34:29.800 First thing I care about is, are you a winner?

00:34:32.040 Can you win?

00:34:33.300 That's the first thing.

00:34:34.080 Because we can't get past, nothing else matters if you can't win.

00:34:36.320 All the rest of it is irrelevant.

00:34:38.080 So the first thing, the first thing I'm thinking is, can you win?

00:34:42.360 Are you a winner?

00:34:43.500 And then if you are, the next thing that matters to me is, can you lead?

00:34:49.500 Can you govern?

00:34:50.540 Can you accomplish things?

00:34:51.780 Do you have the discipline and the competence to accomplish things and the follow through?

00:34:57.340 That's what I care about. 1.00

00:34:59.000 And you could be, in real life, the nastiest son of a bitch while you're doing that. 1.00

00:35:03.140 I don't care. 1.00

00:35:04.900 Nobody cares.

00:35:06.560 Doesn't matter.

00:35:09.320 I, you know, maybe to bring us back a little bit to the opening monologue, I would love to

00:35:12.400 get away from this, like cult of personality, all that, you know, latching on to people,

00:35:18.260 falling in love with them.

00:35:19.440 I don't need that.

00:35:24.160 Ron DeSantis, I don't have any personal, I don't, I don't, I don't see him as a friend.

00:35:27.920 I don't know him.

00:35:28.700 I don't need to see him that way.

00:35:30.700 Yeah, it's no secret that I support him right now, but he could lose my support in a heartbeat.

00:35:34.660 I support him based on what he's done.

00:35:36.600 That's all I care about.

00:35:38.460 I support him based on what he has done.

00:35:40.700 I look at what he's doing and I say, I like these things.

00:35:44.020 I'd like for more of that to happen.

00:35:47.240 But if he stopped accomplishing things, if he started doing things I didn't support,

00:35:53.480 I would drop him like a bad habit.

00:35:55.240 I would drop him immediately.

00:35:56.260 I wouldn't even have to think about it.

00:35:59.500 That's the relationship we should have with politicians.

00:36:02.220 It's like you work for us, okay?

00:36:04.360 That's what it's supposed to be.

00:36:05.560 This term public servant really doesn't, it feels very irrelevant when you look at how things actually work.

00:36:13.880 But in an ideal scenario, that's actually what it's supposed to be.

00:36:17.200 You serve us.

00:36:19.820 And so can you get the, here's the job that we need done.

00:36:22.640 Can you do it or not?

00:36:23.660 If you can't do it, get the hell out of the way.

00:36:26.280 Okay, you might be a nice guy.

00:36:27.380 I don't care.

00:36:28.220 Get out of the way. 0.53

00:36:32.140 All right.

00:36:33.880 Let's see.

00:36:34.300 We've got another video.

00:36:36.640 I want to play some of this.

00:36:37.500 Another video of a trans person detailing their regrets after transition.

00:36:48.220 And we won't play the whole video.

00:36:49.680 We'll play a little bit of this.

00:36:52.240 There are a couple things about it that, well, we'll just go ahead and play it and then we'll talk about it.

00:36:54.740 Go ahead.

00:36:54.920 So I just got diagnosed with vaginal stenosis.

00:37:00.260 If you're confused, hi, I'm Zaya.

00:37:03.260 I'm transgender.

00:37:04.260 And like eight months ago, I got bottom surgery or gender confirmation surgery. 0.99

00:37:08.780 So I had a PP and now I have a vagina. 1.00

00:37:11.760 And let me just preface this by saying I do not regret getting surgery. 0.98

00:37:15.720 I do not regret it.

00:37:17.360 So I don't want any of y'all conservative to twist my words.

00:37:22.020 I do not regret surgery.

00:37:24.220 However, I knew recovery was going to be hard, but nobody tells you that it could be this hard.

00:37:31.620 But yeah, I was diagnosed with vaginal stenosis.

00:37:35.060 And if you don't know what that is, it's basically when scar tissue gets built up inside of the vaginal canal to the point where it's like extremely tight and uncomfortable.

00:37:46.300 And the thing is, for the first year after getting bottom surgery, you have to dilate your vagina religiously because it's a brand new canal that needs to be kept open religiously for the first year. 0.99

00:37:59.340 And now that I have this stenosis, I physically cannot dilate.

00:38:04.660 My vagina still has depth, but it's so tight to the point that it could start to close and form pockets that could lead to infection, which means that I have to get another surgery. 1.00

00:38:18.700 I basically just have to get the surgery all over again and get my vagina replaced. 1.00

00:38:24.320 And like, it's just so f***ing annoying. 0.99

00:38:26.580 And it just sucks because my vagina has made me so happy, happier than I've ever been. 1.00

00:38:32.180 I finally feel comfortable in my body. 0.99

00:38:34.100 It's so pretty on the outside.

00:38:36.300 It's just the inside of it. 0.96

00:38:37.800 That's all f***ed up.

00:38:39.160 And now I have to get an emergency revision surgery.

00:38:41.840 So, a couple reasons that I think that's important to hear, as horrifying as it always is to hear these stories.

00:38:54.080 I mean, when you hear like what these surgeries, what they're actually doing to people.

00:38:59.700 And this is why I say, I mean, this person, I believe, is not a minor.

00:39:05.220 I think this is technically an adult.

00:39:06.900 Does that make this okay, though?

00:39:10.060 Does that make this okay?

00:39:12.220 Is it okay for doctors to do this to someone?

00:39:15.740 I don't care how old they are.

00:39:18.400 It is just not okay for a doctor to do that.

00:39:21.600 This grotesque Frankenstein horror film type stuff they're doing, 0.52

00:39:27.980 and doing it to mentally ill people. 0.99

00:39:32.140 Every person who goes to a doctor and wants to have their penis flipped inside out 1.00

00:39:39.220 and turned into some approximation of a vaginal canal. 1.00

00:39:42.320 Every person who wants that is mentally ill by definition. 0.99

00:39:49.640 And so to actually do it to them? 0.83

00:39:54.240 Of course that shouldn't, it shouldn't be allowed.

00:39:56.700 And yet, you know, I get pushed back on this from some conservatives.

00:40:00.180 They say, well, it's one thing to say that they shouldn't do it.

00:40:02.360 But no, adults can do what they want.

00:40:05.460 It's not about what this individual can do.

00:40:07.420 It's about what the doctors did to him.

00:40:12.220 Taking advantage of his mental illness, profiting off of it,

00:40:16.200 to just mutilate him in this way. 0.58

00:40:20.180 And the other thing, too, is that when you hear about regret, you know,

00:40:25.360 and whatever, there are no reliable numbers because no one is really looking into it.

00:40:32.320 And these doctors certainly aren't interested in cataloging this.

00:40:37.220 So there are no reliable numbers on exactly what percentage of people regret the surgery after the fact.

00:40:42.080 But also keep in mind that for people who don't regret it, this is what not regretting it often sounds like.

00:40:50.800 It sounds like he absolutely does regret it.

00:40:54.780 He's in tears about what's happened to him and talking about how terrible it is.

00:41:00.240 And yet he says he doesn't regret it because he's trying to rationalize,

00:41:05.760 because he realizes what he's done to his body or what's been done to his body that can never be fully reversed.

00:41:11.160 And so he feels like he just has to live with it.

00:41:13.260 Also, he doesn't want to contribute to what he considers transphobia or whatever.

00:41:18.280 And so many of the people say, I don't regret.

00:41:20.520 This is what that actually entails.

00:41:22.880 This is right.

00:41:24.280 And when they say, I'm happy with the surgery, that's what happy with the surgery sounds like.

00:41:31.620 And it sounds an awful lot like someone who wishes they could do nothing more,

00:41:36.400 that they could go back in time and stop themselves from going under the knife to begin with.

00:41:44.120 All right.

00:41:46.480 Is there something a little bit less?

00:41:49.080 I feel like this has been a relatively angry show, even by my standards.

00:41:54.940 But that's, you know, that's that's what it is.

00:41:58.340 I can't I can't invent what the stories are to talk about.

00:42:01.380 They are what they are.

00:42:02.420 This is a little bit less serious.

00:42:04.560 Daily Wire has this door dash announced on Wednesday that the food delivery company will become the latest technology firm

00:42:10.080 to dismiss a substantial number of employees in an effort to limit expenses.

00:42:14.060 OK, well, so it's mass layoffs.

00:42:15.480 It's not exactly a happy story either.

00:42:17.380 The only reason I mentioned this is it's always seemed inevitable to me that DoorDash and Uber Eats would collapse.

00:42:22.120 And in some ways, you know, it's almost sad that the company was able to survive this long or ever exist in the first place.

00:42:31.380 Not that I want to see DoorDash drivers lose their gig, but it's a sad statement about society

00:42:36.940 because DoorDash can only exist by by charging these insane delivery charges.

00:42:45.980 So anyone's ordered DoorDash or Uber Eats, you know how it goes.

00:42:48.200 It's like you order $40 of food and then you end up paying like $50 to $5 or $60 or something crazy like that.

00:42:54.400 These exorbitant fees and it's all for the sake of convenience.

00:42:58.120 It's just so that and I'm guilty of this.

00:43:01.700 I'm definitely guilty of this myself and I hate myself every time I do it.

00:43:06.080 Like I think every single person who uses DoorDash or Uber Eats, right, we hate ourselves when we're doing it.

00:43:10.660 You hit that final button to send the order through and you just hate yourself because you're like, why am I doing this?

00:43:16.820 I'm paying like a $25 fee and I could just get in the car and drive myself and be back in 13 minutes.

00:43:24.560 And instead I'm wasting all this money.

00:43:28.380 So it's this, for the sake of convenience, so you can free yourself up to have more time to sit on your phone at your house doing nothing.

00:43:36.740 You pay this ridiculous extreme premium.

00:43:39.560 So it's kind of a test that these services are running to see to what extent can you actually profit off of the laziness of Americans. 0.97

00:43:52.140 How lazy?

00:43:52.940 They're almost challenging us.

00:43:54.400 Like how lazy do you people actually want to be?

00:43:56.880 They keep upping the charges.

00:43:59.020 Okay, you know what?

00:43:59.680 We're going to charge you a 100% fee on everything you order.

00:44:02.100 Everything you order will be doubled. 0.99

00:44:03.180 But you can stay sitting on your ass and we'll bring the food to you. 1.00

00:44:10.380 And what they found is that our laziness knows almost no bounds. 1.00

00:44:15.120 We will pay almost anything just so that we can remain sitting on our butts.

00:44:20.800 All right, let's get to the comment section.

00:45:39.700 Okay, here's something positive.

00:45:42.300 I do have some good news.

00:45:43.320 Actually, some great news before we get to the comments.

00:45:46.060 And I need to tell you about it.

00:45:49.660 I'll try not to get emotional in process.

00:45:52.740 Finally, the saga is really and truly coming to an end.

00:45:56.580 The drama that has dragged on for months and months,

00:45:59.520 and which you probably got tired of hearing about like 15 seconds after I first raised the issue.

00:46:04.460 That is what is finally coming to an end.

00:46:06.180 The walrus is coming home.

00:46:09.760 He is coming home.

00:46:10.820 My sweet walrus, my dear sweet walrus, is coming home where he belongs.

00:46:15.720 My wife has finally caved to the pressure. 0.78

00:46:18.020 She's tired of hearing about it also.

00:46:20.240 And she just wants to be, she wants to be over and done with.

00:46:23.040 And so, and she has consented, therefore, to the giant stuffed walrus being delivered to our home,

00:46:28.600 to its home, I should say, to its rightful home.

00:46:31.360 And today, I'm told it will happen.

00:46:32.820 We cleared out a spot last night in the living room, because that is where this is going to go,

00:46:39.020 because there's nowhere else to put it.

00:46:40.600 It's going to go right in the living room so that everyone who visits our house can see it.

00:46:45.640 And we can have a walrus-centered life, okay, from henceforward.

00:46:53.700 I don't know, we'll all be together as a family.

00:46:55.860 And I take great comfort, and I try to explain this to my wife.

00:46:59.340 I take great comfort also in knowing that the walrus is coming home before the twins are born.

00:47:04.120 And what that means is that the twins will never know what it's like to live in a walrus-less house, okay?

00:47:11.140 They will always have the walrus in their lives and in their hearts.

00:47:16.240 And they will never suffer the kind of deprivations that I did.

00:47:19.000 And I take great joy in that as well.

00:47:20.840 So, it's a time of great joy for everyone but my wife, who is deeply, deeply annoyed.

00:47:29.040 And that's okay, because she'll come to love the walrus.

00:47:32.280 I believe that she will.

00:47:33.800 Either that, or she'll just resent it and me every time she looks at it.

00:47:38.720 Could go either way.

00:47:39.560 But that's a risk I'm willing to take.

00:47:43.640 All right.

00:47:44.540 The Legs of Rolk says,

00:47:47.020 With Matt continuing to dodge the agreement, I can now wholly relate to Jesse Pinkman when he said he can't keep getting away with it.

00:47:54.460 So, I'm sorry.

00:47:55.520 I just want to clarify.

00:47:56.520 Watching two animes is dodging the agreement.

00:47:59.820 I agreed to watch one, and I watched two, and I've dodged it.

00:48:03.960 I've done double what I was required to do, and that counts as dodging.

00:48:08.940 That doesn't compute.

00:48:11.880 Another comment says,

00:48:12.660 Walsh, you didn't dance, you didn't watch an anime.

00:48:14.660 I admire that.

00:48:16.580 S. Vin says,

00:48:17.380 Matt, I thought you should know that I'd be right in the middle of watching Ben's podcast,

00:48:23.060 and without hesitation, switch over to watch yours as soon as it starts.

00:48:27.020 Well, I'll take that.

00:48:28.160 At least that's one non-anime-related comment,

00:48:31.700 because as I'm going through this, every other comment has to do with anime.

00:48:34.280 Scooter Boy says,

00:48:35.280 Just watch Death Note, Matt.

00:48:36.540 It's an amazing anime, and I'd love to hear your opinions on the battle of morality that takes place.

00:48:43.060 Matt, I must unfortunately inform you that unless these animations you watch are produced in Japan,

00:48:47.860 they cannot be classified as anime, because anime is just Japanese animation.

00:48:52.420 Therefore, you will have to ask SBG members in Japan to produce an anime for you.

00:48:58.480 That's the technicality you're going to try to get me on.

00:49:00.080 And, yeah, every comment is about anime, because these are the conversations.

00:49:03.940 You know, I said at the top of the show, I like to focus on important subjects,

00:49:07.880 like anime and stuffed walruses.

00:49:13.000 Well, here's one.

00:49:13.720 Dirk Dykstra says,

00:49:14.840 I prefer Zachariah Sitchin's account of ancient history over Graham Hancock's.

00:49:19.280 It's even more fascinating.

00:49:20.440 You know, I had a couple people, we were talking about Graham Hancock on the show a few days ago,

00:49:25.160 and I was saying how much I love alternative, you know, sort of alternative history.

00:49:30.620 Even if it's outlandish and I don't really agree with most of it, I just, I'm interested in it.

00:49:34.220 I find it fascinating.

00:49:35.540 And I had a few people mention that I've never heard of this guy.

00:49:37.600 So I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it says,

00:49:43.380 Wikipedia, of course, we know is an absolutely trustworthy source.

00:49:46.760 It says,

00:49:47.040 Similar to earlier authors such as Immanuel Velofsky and Erich von Däniken,

00:49:52.480 Sitchin advocated a hypothesis in which extraterrestrial events

00:49:55.660 supposedly played a significant role in ancient human history.

00:49:59.620 According to Sitchin's interpretation of Mesopotamian iconography and symbolism

00:50:05.020 outlined in his 1976 book, The Twelfth Planet,

00:50:08.940 there is an undiscovered planet beyond Neptune

00:50:11.540 that follows a long elliptical orbit

00:50:14.160 reaching the solar system roughly every 3,600 years.

00:50:17.960 The planet is called Nibiru.

00:50:20.100 According, I think I, okay, I have heard this on Ancient Aliens before.

00:50:22.660 It's starting to ring a bell.

00:50:23.600 According to Sitchin, Nibiru collided catastrophically with Tiamat,

00:50:28.060 which he considers to be another planet,

00:50:30.160 one located between Mars and Jupiter.

00:50:32.040 So now we've got two planets, additional planets we didn't know about.

00:50:34.860 This collision supposedly formed the planet Earth.

00:50:37.880 Sitchin states that when struck by one of planet Nibiru's moons,

00:50:41.840 Tiamat split in two,

00:50:42.980 and then on a second pass, Nibiru itself struck the broken fragments

00:50:46.820 and one half of Tiamat became the asteroid belt.

00:50:50.600 Where is he getting any of this?

00:50:52.000 This is, it's, it's a complex,

00:50:54.600 in fact, he's going back billions of years

00:50:56.340 into the ancient history of the solar system.

00:50:58.780 And, and then there's this race of, of beings

00:51:01.400 and I guess they come to Earth 450,000 years ago

00:51:03.920 and they're mining it for gold.

00:51:06.320 And then, anyway, I'm sold.

00:51:09.040 I believe it.

00:51:10.480 I'm, I'm, that's all I need to read.

00:51:12.960 I think all the evidence is there.

00:51:15.620 And it's completely reshaped my understanding of human history.

00:51:18.700 Last Friday, you know, we launched the brand new biblical series

00:51:22.940 by Jordan B. Peterson.

00:51:24.660 This series is called Exodus.

00:51:26.080 And in it, Jordan Peterson sits down with other scholars

00:51:28.520 to read the book of Exodus and discuss what it means

00:51:31.140 and why it remains significant thousands of years after it was written.

00:51:34.340 Scholars at the table include Dennis Prager,

00:51:36.520 Jonathan Pegot, and many more.

00:51:38.460 Episodes one, two, and three are available to stream right now.

00:51:41.340 And there will be new episodes releasing weekly.

00:51:43.680 Trust me, you gotta check out the series.

00:51:46.120 Here's the trailer.

00:51:47.760 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

00:51:54.540 Turns out that a book is more durable than, than stone.

00:51:58.000 It's more durable than a castle.

00:51:59.400 It's more durable than an empire.

00:52:05.400 You don't get away with anything.

00:52:07.320 And so you might think you can bend the fabric of reality

00:52:09.840 and that you can treat people instrumentally

00:52:11.640 and that you can bow to the tyrant

00:52:13.200 and violate your conscience without cost.

00:52:15.200 You will pay the piper.

00:52:16.740 It's going to call you out of that slavery into freedom,

00:52:19.780 even if that pulls you into the desert.

00:52:25.160 God is ethic-centered, not ethnic-centered.

00:52:29.120 Well, do you want the pharaoh on your side

00:52:31.060 or do you want God on your side?

00:52:32.440 That's kind of the question.

00:52:36.640 There's a profound sense here

00:52:38.480 that what is going on with the Israelites

00:52:40.800 is the contrast to pharaoh, right?

00:52:43.260 Like, under no terms will you go.

00:52:45.200 And the Israelites have to say,

00:52:46.400 we will go under any terms.

00:52:48.700 And we're going to see that there's something else going on here

00:52:51.560 that is far more cosmic and deeper than what you can imagine.

00:52:55.500 The highest ethical spirit to which we're beholden

00:53:00.580 is presented precisely as that spirit

00:53:04.040 that allies itself with the cause of freedom against tyranny.

00:53:08.680 Yes, exactly.

00:53:09.780 I want villains to get punished.

00:53:11.300 But do you want the villains to learn

00:53:12.780 before they have to pay the ultimate price?

00:53:14.640 That's such a Christian question.

00:53:16.000 You have to be a member to watch.

00:53:20.380 So head to dailywire.com slash subscribe

00:53:22.180 to become a member and watch Exodus today.

00:53:25.120 Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:53:30.720 It is arguably one of the most important cases of our time,

00:53:34.700 and yet you probably haven't even heard about it.

00:53:36.640 Business Insider has the report

00:53:38.000 about a court decision in France

00:53:39.420 that though it may have no legal bearing

00:53:41.680 on the United States,

00:53:42.540 still represents a historic win

00:53:45.060 for the most persecuted group in the Western world.

00:53:48.220 And by that, I am, of course, referring to introverts.

00:53:51.180 Reading from Business Insider, it says,

00:53:52.900 a French court has ruled that companies

00:53:54.980 can't fire their workers

00:53:57.120 for failing to be sufficiently fun,

00:54:00.220 which is, I guess, good news for Ron DeSantis as well.

00:54:02.580 The ruling comes after a man referred to as Mr. T

00:54:05.160 was fired from the Paris consultancy firm

00:54:08.000 Cubic Partners in 2015

00:54:09.360 for refusing to participate in after-work drinks

00:54:11.780 and team-building activities.

00:54:12.980 According to the court documents,

00:54:14.640 Mr. T joined the firm in February of 2011

00:54:16.940 and was promoted in 2014,

00:54:18.420 but was fired a year later in March 2015

00:54:20.660 for professional incompetence,

00:54:22.700 specifically his refusal to adhere

00:54:25.000 to the company's fun values.

00:54:27.520 Cubic Partners also said Mr. T

00:54:28.980 was difficult to work with and a poor listener.

00:54:31.260 In a judgment issued on November 9th,

00:54:33.460 the court found that because Mr. T's lack of participation

00:54:35.900 in the company's fun values

00:54:37.900 and critical behavior were reasons cited for his dismissal,

00:54:40.600 he had been wrongfully fired by Cubic Partners.

00:54:43.460 The court ruled that Mr. T was exercising

00:54:45.260 his freedom of expression by refusing to participate

00:54:47.080 in the company's social activities

00:54:48.640 and that performing this fundamental freedom

00:54:51.240 could not be a reason for his dismissal.

00:54:54.740 Now, we're going to kind of look over the fact,

00:54:58.340 look past the unfortunate fact,

00:54:59.740 that this man is fighting for his God-given right

00:55:02.580 to not be fun,

00:55:04.240 fighting for his right to not party,

00:55:06.280 you might say,

00:55:07.620 and yet the court has given him the pseudonym Mr. T,

00:55:11.560 which is a very fun nickname.

00:55:13.340 So even while vindicating his right to not be fun,

00:55:16.260 they are still forcing funness on him

00:55:18.640 in a way that I find, frankly, disrespectful.

00:55:21.880 Be that as it may,

00:55:23.020 this man does not want to go to the company parties.

00:55:25.560 He does not want to do the after hours team building.

00:55:28.560 My God, can you imagine that?

00:55:30.560 Team building while you're on the clock is horrific.

00:55:33.720 When you're supposed to be home

00:55:35.620 and they're telling you to come team build,

00:55:38.380 he doesn't want to do that.

00:55:39.060 He doesn't want to socialize.

00:55:40.740 He doesn't want to be fun. 1.00

00:55:42.000 He wants to be boring, damn it. 0.99

00:55:43.920 He wants to go home and get away from all these people, 0.99

00:55:46.120 as is his natural human right

00:55:47.780 as enshrined by the Geneva Convention,

00:55:49.900 or as it should have been enshrined at any rate.

00:55:52.260 And I bring this up because it is a rare victory indeed

00:55:55.160 for introverts in Western culture.

00:55:57.200 This is a subject, introversion,

00:55:58.600 that's been on my mind over the last couple of days

00:56:00.540 after fielding a particularly disturbing email

00:56:02.880 from a listener during our members block segment,

00:56:05.260 which you have to be a member to watch,

00:56:06.760 by the way, if you're not.

00:56:07.800 And the message came from a woman

00:56:08.960 who was disappointed with her introverted husband 1.00

00:56:10.860 because he refused to dance with her.

00:56:12.580 Now, in truth, a reluctance to dance

00:56:15.160 has very little to do with introversion,

00:56:16.640 as I'll explain in a moment.

00:56:18.140 Even so, I support a man's right to not dance 1.00

00:56:21.460 as much as I support his right to not give in

00:56:23.300 to the social pressure to have fun with his coworkers.

00:56:26.660 And when it comes to dancing,

00:56:27.520 as I explained to the woman,

00:56:28.400 some of us are born with what I call the dancing instinct,

00:56:32.320 that is the innate desire to convulse our bodies

00:56:35.060 in strange and arbitrary ways

00:56:37.340 as a physical response to music.

00:56:39.500 And some of us are born without that maladaptive

00:56:42.040 and psychotic compulsion.

00:56:43.780 Those without it never feel comfortable dancing,

00:56:46.240 and there's no amount of social pressure

00:56:47.800 or guilt tripping that will change that.

00:56:50.480 But it's a subject of introversion that interests me today.

00:56:53.000 In fact, I talked about this once on the show

00:56:54.900 back in the early days when I was ranting alone in my car,

00:56:58.180 which, as it happens,

00:56:59.500 is in many ways the introvert's ideal format

00:57:02.320 for hosting a podcast.

00:57:03.980 And that show, recorded, I think, like four years ago,

00:57:06.200 went semi-viral on YouTube just a few months ago

00:57:08.360 for whatever reason.

00:57:09.760 And ever since then, I've been getting messages

00:57:11.120 from my fellow introverts thanking me

00:57:12.980 for speaking up in defense of our community,

00:57:16.480 if you can even call it a community

00:57:18.200 because we're all antisocial.

00:57:19.660 And I figure now's a good time to revisit the subject

00:57:21.680 and flesh out a few points,

00:57:22.660 especially in light of this court case.

00:57:25.640 And we should begin with the most basic point,

00:57:28.100 which is usually lost in these conversations,

00:57:30.000 which is to define what an introvert actually is.

00:57:33.540 And here's the important point.

00:57:34.640 An introvert is not a shy person.

00:57:36.840 Not necessarily, anyway.

00:57:38.540 A shy person is someone who is nervous

00:57:40.180 or timid in social situations.

00:57:42.960 Shy people have social anxiety. 0.99

00:57:45.480 Introverts can be shy, but they need not be.

00:57:47.640 In my case, I'm an introvert without question,

00:57:50.100 but I can get up and speak in front of big crowds of people

00:57:51.880 without any problem.

00:57:52.980 That's not something a shy person can easily do.

00:57:55.200 So I'm not shy, therefore, but I am introverted.

00:57:56.880 How is that possible?

00:57:57.680 Well, because, put simply, an introvert is someone

00:58:00.280 for whom socializing is maybe not terrifying,

00:58:04.720 but physically and mentally draining.

00:58:07.940 Okay, that's what we are trying to explain.

00:58:11.520 An introvert is most energized by spending time alone

00:58:15.100 or in much smaller groups, like maybe with their family.

00:58:18.040 An extrovert, on the other hand,

00:58:19.760 is energized by busier and louder

00:58:21.920 and more active social situations.

00:58:24.980 An introvert finds these kinds of social interactions exhausting

00:58:27.700 while an extrovert finds them invigorating somehow.

00:58:31.240 But here's the important point.

00:58:33.860 Although the extrovert's proclivities are mysterious to me,

00:58:37.700 I still recognize that it isn't wrong.

00:58:40.580 Okay, neither personality type is wrong.

00:58:42.980 There are benefits to both.

00:58:44.420 Introverts tend to be more observant, more thoughtful, 0.73

00:58:46.820 better prepared, more self-aware, more intuitive, 1.00

00:58:50.620 while extroverts tend to be babbling morons. 1.00

00:58:54.080 I'm just kidding, of course, sort of. 1.00

00:58:55.840 I mean, extroverts tend to be, they're friendlier,

00:58:57.560 they tend to be more enthusiastic,

00:58:58.940 they tend to be more bold, more assertive.

00:59:01.520 There's some crossover here, of course.

00:59:03.480 For example, I may not be an extrovert,

00:59:05.800 but I don't feel like I'm lacking in assertiveness.

00:59:08.120 Yet, as a general rule,

00:59:09.320 these are how the personality types shake out.

00:59:11.540 The problem is that our culture,

00:59:13.040 for all its talk about tolerance and diversity,

00:59:15.240 actually has very little tolerance

00:59:16.860 for a diversity of personality types.

00:59:20.540 We have very little tolerance for that.

00:59:23.160 And in many contexts,

00:59:24.520 particularly in the school system

00:59:25.620 or in professional environments, et cetera,

00:59:28.320 introverts are looked at with suspicion.

00:59:31.340 Like there's, again, especially in the school system,

00:59:33.140 there's one way to be.

00:59:36.820 Like there's one personality type they want you to have.

00:59:40.060 And if you don't have that, then it's suspicious.

00:59:44.080 And they might even put you on drugs to fix it.

00:59:46.600 Or at the very least,

00:59:47.580 they're gonna be constantly berated to open up,

00:59:49.560 come out of your shell, talk more.

00:59:51.020 The message is that this way of being,

00:59:53.760 this disposition is somehow incorrect.

00:59:57.080 And, but it rarely goes the other way.

00:59:59.020 Extroverts are not encouraged to be more introverted.

01:00:02.000 Talkative people are rarely asked

01:00:03.380 to shut their mouths for five seconds 0.92

01:00:05.020 so that the rest of us can hear something

01:00:06.860 other than their voices for a change.

01:00:09.560 Assumptions are made, though, about the introvert.

01:00:12.360 It isn't assumed that he's,

01:00:13.600 you know, it's assumed that he isn't talking

01:00:15.360 because he's snobbish, stuck up,

01:00:17.500 standoffish, anxious, whatever.

01:00:19.680 It's rarely considered

01:00:20.680 that he might not be talking

01:00:22.680 simply because there is nothing

01:00:24.360 he feels like saying at the moment.

01:00:26.980 That's it.

01:00:28.240 Just, someone says,

01:00:29.300 well, why aren't you talking?

01:00:30.020 I don't feel like saying anything right now.

01:00:31.860 That's it.

01:00:32.280 That's all.

01:00:33.800 I'm not imposing on you.

01:00:36.180 Some people are satisfied to think

01:00:38.640 without verbalizing what they're thinking.

01:00:42.760 There are people who actually enjoy that.

01:00:44.560 They enjoy thinking without having to immediately funnel

01:00:50.180 all of those thoughts out of their mouths

01:00:52.680 and into the world.

01:00:54.220 And these people are called introverts

01:00:55.440 and there's nothing wrong with them.

01:00:57.480 I think this discomfort with introverts

01:00:59.960 is largely driven by our general discomfort

01:01:03.620 with just quietness.

01:01:06.540 We live in a very loud culture

01:01:08.220 and every moment of every day

01:01:09.700 is filled with noise,

01:01:11.200 with activity,

01:01:12.320 with communication,

01:01:13.480 with just lights and sounds

01:01:14.860 and blaring screens

01:01:16.020 and hustle and bustle and everything.

01:01:18.040 There are people who walk around

01:01:19.100 with headphones or earbuds in all day

01:01:20.720 so they never have to endure

01:01:22.080 a single moment of silence.

01:01:25.000 Now, introverts, though,

01:01:25.840 don't have this fear of silence.

01:01:28.120 On the contrary, we crave it.

01:01:30.060 That's when we do our best work.

01:01:32.040 That's when we can think and create

01:01:33.460 and hatch our devious schemes

01:01:34.960 to take over the world.

01:01:36.120 We're not afraid of quiet,

01:01:37.680 but the culture is.

01:01:41.280 And so then it is afraid of us,

01:01:42.800 by extension.

01:01:44.780 And that is why

01:01:45.640 the French Mr. T's court victory

01:01:47.480 was so important.

01:01:48.700 And it's why he is not cancelled today,

01:01:51.420 but the extroverted oppressors

01:01:53.060 certainly are.

01:01:55.420 And that'll do it for this portion of the show

01:01:57.080 as we move over to the

01:01:58.120 aforementioned members block.

01:01:59.540 Hope to see you there.

01:02:00.220 If not, talk to you all Monday.

01:02:01.360 Godspeed.

01:02:07.680 Godspeed.

01:02:15.580 Godspeed.

01:02:16.580 Godspeed.

01:02:16.600 Godspeed.

01:02:16.920 Godspeed.

01:02:17.120 Godspeed.

01:02:17.160 Godspeed.

01:02:17.200 Godspeed.

01:02:18.020 Godspeed.

01:02:21.540 Godspeed.

01:02:22.000 Godspeed.

01:02:22.540 Godspeed.

01:02:22.880 Godspeed.

01:02:23.620 Godspeed.

01:02:24.080 Godspeed.

01:02:24.980 Godspeed.

01:02:25.720 Godspeed.

01:02:27.040 Godspeed.

01:02:35.880 Godspeed.

01:02:36.120 Godspeed.
