The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1142 - Every Day Is 'Trans Day Of Visibility'

00:00:00.120 Today on the Matt Wall Show, the Trans Day of Visibility was another opportunity for every 1.00

00:00:03.760 institution in the country to fall prostrate to the ground and worship at the feet of trans people. 0.97

00:00:07.920 So it was just like every other day, in other words. Speaking of which, Bud Light has announced

00:00:11.240 a new partnership with Dylan Mulvaney. Mulvaney is racking up endorsement deals like a professional

00:00:15.360 athlete. What does that tell us? Also, leftists claim that it would cost too much money to put

00:00:20.160 armed security in every school in America. I have an idea about how we might be able to free up some

00:00:24.620 of those funds. The Prime Minister of New Zealand is asked to define the word woman, and hilarity

00:00:29.180 ensues. It never gets old. And our daily cancellation, the Rage Mob is after me again,

00:00:32.720 this time for, they say, justifying slavery. Did I justify it, or are they a bunch of semi-literate

00:00:38.860 hysterical morons? We'll talk about that, try to figure it out today on the Matt Wall Show. 1.00

00:00:51.020 Robert Kiyosaki, the author of the best-selling book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, has just cautioned that

00:00:55.520 the world economy is on the verge of collapse. Warning of bank runs, frozen savings, bail-ins.

00:01:01.240 He suggests that you buy real gold and silver coins right now. The recent surge in gold prices

00:01:06.860 is directly tied to an extremely volatile market. That's why gold has historically been a great hedge

00:01:11.380 against the stock market and against inflation. The only company, then, that I trust to help you

00:01:15.920 diversify into gold is Birch Gold Group. Diversification has never been more important.

00:01:19.600 Listen, precious metals will always have inherent value. Gold is a tangible and finite resource

00:01:24.260 uncontrolled by any single government or financial institution. As such, they cannot simply be printed

00:01:28.960 on a government's whim like paper currency can. Birch Gold can also help you convert an existing

00:01:33.880 IRA or 401k into a tax-sheltered IRA in physical precious metals. Text Walsh to 989898 to get a free

00:01:53.700 On Friday, our nation once again celebrated one of its highest and most sacred holy days,

00:01:59.160 the Trans Day of Visibility. It's very important that we have this special occasion

00:02:03.560 dedicated to making trans people feel visible. You know, there's an urgent need here because

00:02:08.680 other than the fact that trans people are relentlessly celebrated and promoted and elevated and worshipped by

00:02:14.200 every major corporation and by every governmental institution and by most of the most

00:02:19.300 prominent and powerful people in our country, other than all that, trans people are practically 1.00

00:02:24.540 invisible. Trans people are indeed horribly marginalized. That is, if you don't take into

00:02:29.600 account the trans pride flags hanging all over the place and the trans propaganda shoved in front of

00:02:34.520 our faces everywhere we go and the well-funded and coordinated campaign to promote transgenderism and

00:02:40.280 recruit our children into it. Putting all that aside, trans people are really getting the cold 1.00

00:02:46.440 shoulder from society. I mean, if you somehow didn't notice that all of our most powerful

00:02:52.200 institutions are lying prostrate on the ground, groveling at the feet of this tiny minority, 0.97

00:02:58.760 then Trans Day of Visibility was likely a very educational day.

00:03:03.380 What I'm saying is that if you happen to have been walking through life blindfolded with earplugs for the past

00:03:09.660 decade or so, then this sort of awareness campaign was made just for you. Okay, then you probably were

00:03:16.260 walking around on Friday like, trans people, what's that? I had never heard of this before.

00:03:20.480 But if you have been even vaguely conscious and aware prior to Friday, then Trans Day of Visibility may have

00:03:27.340 seemed a bit redundant. You know, Trans Day of Visibility, that's just another way of saying it's a day.

00:03:32.300 And it's just a day on the calendar. And nevertheless, the day was dutifully commemorated.

00:03:38.520 Corporations and brands paid homage. Government agencies displayed their fealty. Even the National

00:03:44.700 Weather Service put out a Trans Day of Visibility statement because no government agency, no institution

00:03:51.180 is allowed to just be what it is and focus on, you know, fulfilling the tasks that it was made to

00:03:59.200 fulfill. No, because the primary duty now of every institution is to show their support and loyalty

00:04:09.260 to the LGBT alphabet soup and especially trans people. Of course, Joe Biden issued a presidential

00:04:14.380 proclamation, which somehow manages to be even more ingratiating and groveling than you would expect.

00:04:20.240 The statement is lengthy, goes on for paragraphs and paragraphs. But here's a piece of it. He says,

00:04:24.160 Transgender Day of Visibility celebrates the joy, strength, and absolute courage of some of the

00:04:30.700 bravest people I know. People who have too often had to put their jobs, relationships, and lives on

00:04:35.480 the line just to be their true selves. Today, we show millions of transgender and non-binary Americans

00:04:41.020 that we see them. They belong, and they should be treated with dignity and respect. Their courage has

00:04:46.740 given countless others strength, but no one should have to be brave just to be themselves. Every American

00:04:52.320 deserves that freedom. Transgender Americans shape our nation's soul, proudly serving in the military,

00:04:59.200 curing deadly diseases, holding elected office, running thriving businesses, fighting for justice,

00:05:04.900 raising families, and much more. As kids, they deserve what every child deserves, the chance to learn in

00:05:09.940 safe and supportive schools, to develop meaningful friendships, and to openly, to live openly and

00:05:14.960 honestly. As adults, they deserve the same rights enjoyed by every American, including equal access to

00:05:19.760 health care, housing, and jobs, and the chance to age with grace as senior citizens. But today,

00:05:24.860 too many transgender Americans are still denied those rights and freedoms. Now, all of that is

00:05:30.980 completely bogus. They're not denied any of that at all, period. But he is right that trans people 1.00

00:05:39.540 shape our nation's soul. In a way, not the way he intends, he's correct. Our nation's soul has been

00:05:47.860 shaped, or misshaped, deformed, if you will, by its acceptance and promotion of and acquiescence to

00:05:55.640 gender ideology. It shapes our soul. It defines us as a nation. In fact, as far as the history books are

00:06:02.500 concerned, quote-unquote transgenderism will be one of the only relevant facts about our era.

00:06:08.360 You know, every era in world history is going to inevitably be defined, and it's going to inevitably

00:06:15.740 boil down to just a couple of things. And this is one of our things. It will be the thing that our

00:06:24.080 descendants look back upon with astonishment and confusion. So Biden is closer to the mark here than

00:06:31.240 he intended to be. But as we've established, every day is trans day of visibility. So it continued on 0.92

00:06:36.380 Saturday in Vancouver, where anti-gender ideology activist Chris Elston, who goes by Billboard Chris

00:06:41.660 on Twitter, and he's been doing great work on this topic, and he's been in this fight for years now,

00:06:49.020 he showed up, as he often does, to peacefully counter-protest a pro-trans rally. And for him,

00:06:54.180 counter-protesting just means that he wears a billboard. And in this case, I think the sign said,

00:06:59.300 children cannot consent to puberty blockers. And he wears a billboard, and he goes around,

00:07:04.020 and he talks to people. And that's what he did at this rally. But while Vancouver police watched,

00:07:10.260 and for one of the cops anyway, smiled, Elston was accosted and then physically assaulted by a

00:07:16.160 trans-identified person who knows that he, the trans-identified person, has implicit permission

00:07:20.980 to act out as violently as he wants. And he decided, as we could see here, to take full advantage of that

00:07:27.880 privilege. Watch. Why do you think they're getting that kind of representation? I mean,

00:07:33.500 it clearly was aggressive, violent assault. 1.00

00:07:36.080 You suck. You suck. You. You're not wanted. You. You're a f***ing idiot. You're a f***ing idiot. 1.00

00:07:43.080 I don't know what to say. These police officers are mostly indoctrinated as well. 1.00

00:07:46.900 They're afraid of the mob. They're afraid that if they do anything to the law and order,

00:07:55.680 that they'll be on the end of this abuse. So it's cowardice for everybody all around.

00:08:04.040 You. You. You. You. You. 0.97

00:08:08.520 What's that? How do you keep your closure?

00:08:11.040 You. You. You. You. You. You. You.

00:08:16.520 So that's about as straightforward as assault can get.

00:08:37.660 And we had to bleep it out there.

00:08:38.580 Well, it's probably not that confusing, but the whole crowd was screaming F you at Elston.

00:08:43.600 And then the man with the long hair and lipstick in particular was right up in Elston's face, like six inches from his face, screaming F you while he's trying to do an interview with this media outlet.

00:08:56.220 And then Elston puts his hand up.

00:08:58.360 And this is what the trans activists on social media are using to try to claim that this was not assault at all.

00:09:05.540 He puts his hands on him first.

00:09:07.060 No, Elston puts his hand up to establish personal boundaries, which, by the way, you have every right to do.

00:09:12.900 Nobody has the right to go up right in your face and scream at you.

00:09:17.600 You have every right to establish your personal boundaries.

00:09:21.260 And that's what he does.

00:09:21.860 He puts his hand up. 0.99

00:09:22.940 The trans dude responds by smacking him in the head and throwing him to the ground. 1.00

00:09:27.520 He feels entitled to his violent rage. 1.00

00:09:29.880 The trans person does.

00:09:30.760 And for good reason, because the police think that he's entitled to it, too, which is why they did not arrest the assailant and even later justified the attack by telling Elston, this is on camera, that it was a mutual fight.

00:09:42.680 So if you are accosted by this drooling rage mob screaming F you in your face and then smacking you in the face, that is a mutual fight as far as the cops are concerned.

00:09:56.120 But this is how we make trans people visible, I suppose, by giving them carte blanche to do whatever they want all the time. 0.99

00:10:04.760 And they got some more visibility the following day when Dylan Mulvaney added to his long list of corporate sponsorships with a new one from Bud Light.

00:10:15.120 Mulvaney announced the partnership on Sunday.

00:10:17.220 Hi, impressive carrying skills, right?

00:10:21.480 I got some Bud Lights for us.

00:10:23.520 So I kept hearing about this thing called March Madness, and I thought we were all just having a hectic month.

00:10:29.560 But it turns out it has something to do with sports.

00:10:32.780 And I'm not sure exactly which sport, but either way, it's a cause to celebrate.

00:10:37.800 This month, I celebrated my day 365 of womanhood, and Bud Light sent me possibly the best gift ever, a can with my face on it.

00:10:48.440 Check out my Instagram story to see how you can enjoy March Madness with Bud Light and maybe win some money, too.

00:10:54.960 Love ya!

00:10:56.420 Cheers!

00:10:57.580 Go team!

00:10:58.560 Whatever team you love, I love, too.

00:11:01.780 Okay.

00:11:03.560 Love ya.

00:11:04.440 Okay. 0.97

00:11:04.940 Break a leg. 0.89

00:11:06.080 Woo! 0.99

00:11:07.800 This is how persecuted these people are.

00:11:10.560 I mean, all a man needs to do is announce that he's a woman, and he'll be immediately showered with more endorsement deals than an NFL quarterback gets. 0.99

00:11:18.820 Okay.

00:11:19.140 In fact, one of the only quarterbacks who rivals Mulvaney's sponsorship tally is Colin Kaepernick, and he's not even a quarterback.

00:11:26.700 The only good news that I can see here is that it should be very easy to boycott Bud Light,

00:11:32.080 given that their beer tastes like rainwater siphoned out of a tin bucket that's been sitting in your backyard for three weeks.

00:11:38.840 I mean, Bud Light tastes very much like malaria and rust.

00:11:42.260 And it also tastes like nothing at the same time.

00:11:44.300 So it's kind of an impressive concoction in that way, but not one that I would actually want to consume on purpose.

00:11:49.800 The only people who do want to consume it are frat boys or 55-year-old bikers.

00:11:54.400 And nobody in between those two extremes, literally nobody else has ever had Bud Light, at least not in the last 20 years.

00:12:01.780 Which makes you wonder who this is meant to appeal to.

00:12:05.980 Okay.

00:12:06.240 Who in either of those target demos would be more likely to purchase and drink Bud Light now that a man in a dress is adorning its cans? 0.84

00:12:14.940 I mean, how does this make good business sense?

00:12:17.180 The answer, of course, is that it isn't being done in order to sell more products.

00:12:22.120 It's being done as a signal, as a symbol, as a sign of allegiance to the trans agenda.

00:12:29.060 And the way to signal this allegiance is to constantly make trans people visible,

00:12:34.820 even if they're already as visible as any minuscule minority can possibly be or has ever been in history.

00:12:40.240 But it's still not enough.

00:12:41.960 It's never enough.

00:12:43.100 It can never be enough.

00:12:44.900 And that's partly because progressivism can do nothing but march forward, can do nothing but progress, progressivism.

00:12:53.480 It progresses like bone cancer, eating away at its host until there's nothing left to consume.

00:12:59.320 But also partly because trans ideology in particular is so flimsy, it's so frail, that it's always on the verge of collapse.

00:13:07.480 It's perched precariously on this edge, and it must be aggressively propped up all the time, every second of the day.

00:13:15.180 The trans person individually barely believes the claims he makes about himself and his own identity. 0.89

00:13:21.980 His self-perception is this superficial, you know, ephemeral thing.

00:13:25.760 It's a lie that he whispers constantly to himself, and he shouts it at the world that demands that it be shouted back to him.

00:13:32.460 No other group needs this kind of support, because no other group is in a constant state of trying to convince itself that it exists.

00:13:43.380 Now, there are many other groups in modern America who demand special rights and special privileges and entitlements.

00:13:49.420 But the one thing they don't need is to be constantly persuaded of their own existence.

00:13:55.080 And that's the real difference here.

00:13:59.260 Now, let's get to our five headlines.

00:14:06.380 If you have a family like I do, you already have plenty of things to worry about, to say the least.

00:14:11.600 In a worst-case scenario, you wouldn't want them to have to worry about money on top of everything else.

00:14:15.980 We all hope that we'll never need life insurance, but mortgage companies, child care, and other expenses, they don't disappear when you're gone.

00:14:21.840 Life moves on, and so do all of the expenses.

00:14:24.300 A good life insurance plan can give you peace of mind that if something happens to you, your family will have a safety net so they can get back on their feet and focus on what's most important in life.

00:14:33.480 PolicyGenius makes it easy to compare life insurance quotes from top companies and find your lowest price.

00:14:38.280 If you already have coverage through work, employer-sponsored life insurance may not offer enough protection for your family's needs, and is also not going to follow you if you leave your job.

00:14:47.040 PolicyGenius was built to modernize the life insurance industry.

00:14:49.480 Their technology makes it easy to compare life insurance quotes from top companies and find your lowest price.

00:14:54.860 With PolicyGenius, you can find life insurance policies that start at just $25 per month for a million dollars of coverage.

00:15:00.960 Some options offer coverage in as little as a week, and they avoid unnecessary medical exams as well.

00:15:05.460 PolicyGenius says the licensed agents can help you find coverage options in as little as a week.

00:15:09.480 They work for you, not the insurance companies.

00:15:11.880 There are no added fees, and your personal info is private.

00:15:14.640 Your loved ones deserve a financial safety net.

00:15:17.040 You deserve a smarter way to find it and buy it.

00:15:19.420 Head to PolicyGenius.com, click the link in the description to get your free life insurance quotes, and see how much you can save.

00:15:24.400 That's PolicyGenius.com today.

00:15:27.020 I want to begin with something that still has not gotten old for me.

00:15:30.720 I mean, I made the movie, and I literally wrote the book on it, and yet I still laugh every time I see this.

00:15:37.700 Every time someone, especially some high-ranking person, gets stumped by the question, the big question, the question that my six-year-old could answer with ease and that your six-year-old or your children could answer if you're raising them right.

00:15:49.320 Anyway, this time it's the prime minister of New Zealand who has given us the chance to offer a definition of womanhood.

00:15:58.720 This happened at a press conference just recently, and here's what happens.

00:16:03.680 How do you, and how does this government define a woman? 1.00

00:16:12.840 To be honest, Sean, that question's come slightly out of left field for me.

00:16:18.880 The, well, biology, sex, gender, people define themselves, people define their own genders. 0.82

00:16:31.620 Keir Star has said that he believes 99.9% of women do not have penises, and I know it's a strange thing for him to say, but given recent events in New Zealand, I'd ask again, how do you define what a woman is?

00:16:48.400 Well, I think as I've just indicated, I wasn't expecting that question, so it's not something that I've, you know, formulated, pre-formulated an answer on. 0.90

00:16:56.880 But in terms of gender identity, I think people define their gender identity for themselves.

00:17:01.840 There was a little bit of honesty there that I can appreciate, because he says, well, I don't have a pre-formulated answer on this.

00:17:10.200 So it's not very often that you hear politicians actually admit that.

00:17:13.200 Listen, I can't talk about this because I don't have a pre-formulated answer.

00:17:16.040 You can only ask me questions that I have pre-formulated an answer on.

00:17:19.660 And, you know, you get a little bit of that honesty sometimes from Joe Biden, who will look at a sheet of paper while he's up, supposedly answering questions and look, well, they don't want me to talk about this.

00:17:31.360 Next, I'm supposed to call on this person here.

00:17:33.160 I'm being instructed.

00:17:34.540 So a little bit of honesty there, although you shouldn't need a pre-formulated.

00:17:38.940 This is like if someone said, prime minister, do you know what two plus two equals?

00:17:46.160 Well, I, well, this is a little bit out of left field.

00:17:48.500 I wasn't expecting to be asked this.

00:17:49.960 I mean, two plus two, it's, well, there's math, there's numbers, there's math and numbers.

00:17:56.260 And, you know, people all would answer it differently.

00:17:59.460 Even if you weren't, I can understand if you weren't expecting to be asked that question.

00:18:04.840 But you should still be able to answer it just like that, because that's how easy of a question is.

00:18:11.360 And, but obviously we should be, I think, precise here in what we say about this, because it's not that he, it's, he knows the answer.

00:18:22.860 It's not that he doesn't know it.

00:18:24.140 Obviously he knows the answer.

00:18:25.560 But what he can't figure out on the spot, what he can't figure out how to do is how do you, you can't say that answer because then the trans and LGBT mafia comes after him. 0.86

00:18:37.800 So he can't say that.

00:18:38.720 So how do you, I mean, he's trying to figure out how do I say something about this without actually giving the answer?

00:18:46.640 And the amazing thing to me is that these people still haven't even figured that out yet.

00:18:57.320 It's well established that they, that their ideology will not allow them to actually give the right answer.

00:19:03.180 So we know that.

00:19:04.440 And they've been given many opportunities to come up with some other kind of answer, but there isn't any other answer.

00:19:09.040 It doesn't exist.

00:19:09.900 So that's established.

00:19:10.680 You would think at least at this point, they'd have come up with some kind of just like standard workaround.

00:19:19.000 Let me give a, he says he doesn't have a pre-formulated answer.

00:19:21.540 Well, maybe at this point, if you're on the left, you should have some kind of stump speech ready for this.

00:19:26.980 They haven't even figured that out yet.

00:19:29.320 Like at this point, how are you surprised by the question?

00:19:35.540 Never gets old though.

00:19:36.500 I, you know, I feel like we, I could make another, what is a woman film, just the exact same movie with different people this time.

00:19:46.940 And it would be almost as entertaining.

00:19:51.740 All right.

00:19:52.940 This is from the New York Post.

00:19:54.500 It says, Tennessee's governor plans to increase funding for school safety, posting armed guards at school in the wake of this week's, or last week now, shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville that killed three young students and three staffers.

00:20:05.500 Republican Governor Bill Lee made the promise as the state reels from one of the most violent school shootings in its history.

00:20:11.180 And as more details emerge about the obsessive and stalkerish quote unquote behavior of shooter Audrey Hale.

00:20:17.860 Lee told the Tennessee on Friday, I think we all understand when people are fearful, when people are angry and when people lash out, have those same emotions myself.

00:20:25.360 We have an obligation.

00:20:26.180 I have an obligation to do what I can.

00:20:27.840 I work together with leaders across this community to address people's concerns and to protect our kids in whatever way we can.

00:20:32.640 So the school safety plan is to place armed guards, known as school resource officers, at every public school in the state and provide funding for private schools to take similar actions.

00:20:43.540 Covenant, of course, is a private school.

00:20:44.760 So the goal is to get armed security at every single school, public and private, in the state, which absolutely makes sense.

00:20:54.100 I mean, it more than makes sense.

00:20:55.740 It's a moral necessity.

00:20:57.740 It's the most logical thing to do.

00:21:00.060 It's also, again, it's a moral requirement that if you're going to send, if we're going to send our kids off, like tens of millions of kids every single day are shipped off to schools, whether it's public or private.

00:21:10.740 And if we're going to do that as a society, then there is a moral requirement to take really basic steps to make sure that they're safe.

00:21:21.660 Dan Crenshaw was on CNN over the weekend, and he proposed something similar countrywide, nationwide.

00:21:26.760 He suggested two armed security at every school in the country.

00:21:30.200 I want you to listen to the anchor's response on this, though.

00:21:32.540 The truth of the matter is, if we had a minimum of two armed guards or police officers at every single school in America, you'd probably prevent these from here on out.

00:21:42.080 Well, you said that's the truth.

00:21:43.540 You said that they're random.

00:21:44.860 The one true line in these deaths is that they are shootings, therefore they are done by guns.

00:21:50.900 And guns are the leading cause of death for children and teens in the U.S.

00:21:55.280 So shouldn't helping save the lives of children be a top priority for you as a member of the House majority?

00:22:06.400 No, it absolutely should be, which is why I say I would look to the thing that would absolutely stop this, which is putting armed police officers at every school.

00:22:13.780 I visit a lot of schools.

00:22:15.140 I do talks at various schools.

00:22:16.540 It's very rare that I go into a school, especially the newer ones, and they don't have some kind of armed police presence there at all times.

00:22:23.480 So that's a preventive measure.

00:22:25.200 That I know will stop this.

00:22:27.200 And there was nothing like that in these last few mass shootings.

00:22:30.220 There's no armed guards there.

00:22:32.420 So if I'm just looking for actual solutions, that would be it.

00:22:35.940 So the answer is more guns?

00:22:37.280 No, the answer is armed guards.

00:22:39.360 The answer is armed guards, right?

00:22:41.260 Armed guards, yes, more guns.

00:22:42.600 The kind of guns that protect the president, that protect you all at CNN.

00:22:46.460 Is it easy to get into your headquarters at CNN?

00:22:49.040 Absolutely not.

00:22:49.800 There's armed guards there.

00:22:50.800 There's single points of entry.

00:22:52.080 I think we should look at our schools as a place that is precious and have the same kind of security that your corporate offices do, that we do in Congress.

00:23:01.660 You know, if we consider a place to be important where our children go to learn every day, it should have the same level of security as every other place, whether it's a shopping mall or a corporate office that's hard to get into.

00:23:13.420 You're not going to get rid of guns.

00:23:14.940 So my only criticism here, it's not really criticism, but Crenshaw is obviously right about this.

00:23:21.720 I wish he had given his point, his rejoinder there about CNN's offices.

00:23:25.920 I wish he'd given that a little more time to breathe, make her respond to that.

00:23:28.920 There's no response she can give, but because that's very important to observe.

00:23:34.780 She's saying, well, more guns are not going to make us more safe.

00:23:38.340 Well, yeah, but you claim that.

00:23:41.460 But as Crenshaw points out, the CNN offices where you currently are, those offices are guarded by armed guards.

00:23:48.880 Every cable news, you go to Fox, you go to any of these places, they're going to be guarded by armed guards.

00:23:53.540 Does that make you more safe or less safe?

00:23:59.360 And if you're saying that it makes you less safe because there are more guns, right?

00:24:02.460 You add armed security on campus at CNN headquarters.

00:24:07.080 You're adding more guns.

00:24:08.540 You're adding guns into the situation.

00:24:10.400 You're saying that makes you less safe.

00:24:12.680 It would make our kids less safe.

00:24:14.480 And so have you, I mean, why don't you start with what's closest to you and what you have more control over?

00:24:20.240 So why aren't all the people at CNN coming together and saying, get rid of these armed security guards?

00:24:25.420 We don't want them.

00:24:26.380 This is making us less safe, okay?

00:24:28.460 Guns don't make you safe. 0.99

00:24:29.680 Get rid of the armed security.

00:24:30.680 None of them are saying that.

00:24:32.740 Just like, of course, all the Democrat politicians who talk about guns aren't going to make us safer,

00:24:37.880 they go to work in buildings that are guarded by armed guards.

00:24:42.580 They are surrounded by armed guards, you know, everywhere they go, many of them.

00:24:47.500 Joe Biden, guns aren't going to make us more safe.

00:24:52.520 Well, the, you know, Secret Service, does he, are they, what are they carrying around?

00:25:00.560 Are they carrying around sternly worded letters to anyone that might make an attempt on the president's life?

00:25:07.100 No, what they would say would, I'm sure what people at CNN would say is, well, we need the armed security. 0.50

00:25:10.940 You can't get rid of the armed security because there's all these crazy right-wingers out there that would try to come to CNN offices and kill us.

00:25:19.000 You know, which is, of course, almost certainly not going to happen.

00:25:22.280 Like, if you, if you, if CNN were to have no armed security at all, they could continue on indefinitely,

00:25:28.220 and there would almost definitely, almost certainly nothing would happen.

00:25:32.000 Because there just aren't that many people out there that would even want to do anything like that.

00:25:37.560 And yet there's a chance.

00:25:39.700 There's always a chance that some crazy person could come, and based on that chance, let's have the security.

00:25:46.160 But we know there's certainly a chance that a crazy person will show up at any school where kids are,

00:25:51.120 and so why wouldn't we have armed security?

00:25:54.200 But once again, it's this argument, well, more guns make us less safe.

00:25:56.840 As if there's no distinction, right, between a gun used by armed security and a gun used by a school shooter.

00:26:02.660 They both have guns.

00:26:04.100 If one person with a gun is dangerous, then two people are double as dangerous.

00:26:09.600 This is the kind of logic.

00:26:10.720 It's exactly the same logic.

00:26:12.980 You know, it's exactly the same thing as arguing that because prescription drug overdoses are a leading cause of death in America,

00:26:20.280 that means all prescription drugs are bad, and prescription drugs have no place in society at all and should be banned.

00:26:31.340 It's exactly the same kind of logic.

00:26:34.000 The other rebuttal is that this would be too expensive.

00:26:37.180 So Peter Strzok tweeted this in response to the Crenshaw clip.

00:26:40.360 There are 130,000-plus schools in the U.S.

00:26:44.380 Where are you going to find 260,000 armed guards?

00:26:48.120 How much are you going to pay them?

00:26:49.740 How much are you going to pay for ongoing firearms and tactical training?

00:26:53.460 A $40,000-a-year salary, lowball, but hey, it's just our kids, alone costs $10.4 billion.

00:27:01.800 $10.4 billion is too much, he says.

00:27:04.200 Too much.

00:27:04.820 Wait a second, $10 billion?

00:27:08.800 That's it?

00:27:10.660 Since when do we pinch pennies like this?

00:27:14.340 Okay, when it comes to the federal government, since when is $10 billion considered a lot?

00:27:20.200 That's it?

00:27:21.000 Only $10 billion?

00:27:22.920 We gave Ukraine 10 times that. 0.94

00:27:26.100 And I agree, a $40,000-a-year salary for armed guards that are being paid to protect our kids is way too low.

00:27:36.180 Double that, make it $80,000 a year.

00:27:38.320 Okay, let's make it $20 billion.

00:27:40.920 That's still five times less than we gave to Ukraine.

00:27:47.360 We give, you know, it fluctuates a little bit.

00:27:50.060 We give about $50 billion a year, every year, not counting Ukraine.

00:27:54.980 We give $50 billion a year, every year, as foreign aid, which are just welfare payments paid out to foreign governments.

00:28:04.560 So we give $50 billion a year to foreign governments so that they can ostensibly protect themselves and do whatever else they need to do.

00:28:12.700 Even though there's really no oversight, we have no idea how this money is spent.

00:28:16.780 Taxation without representation, you know, that describes to a T giving our tax money to foreign governments.

00:28:24.160 That's taxation, they're getting our tax money, we are not represented at all.

00:28:28.340 So, but, be that as it may.

00:28:31.880 So we give $50 billion a year to foreign governments in foreign aid.

00:28:37.060 Again, that's aside from the $100 billion we gave to Ukraine.

00:28:39.480 Here, even if we paid the $80,000 a year salary to two armed guards in every school,

00:28:46.900 that would still be half what we give to foreign governments every year.

00:28:53.760 If you're really, therefore, concerned about the money,

00:28:58.080 and I think for a lot of these people on the left,

00:29:00.980 it's like the first time in their lives that they've worried about government spending on something.

00:29:04.940 Well, I just don't have the money, it's too much.

00:29:06.180 Okay, well then, how about this?

00:29:10.740 We don't need to spend any extra money, let's just redirect, okay?

00:29:14.460 All that money that we're giving in foreign aid,

00:29:17.840 redirect that money to protecting American kids for a change.

00:29:20.700 How's that for an idea?

00:29:22.420 I'd like to see all of it.

00:29:24.140 I'd like to see, that's what I would like to see,

00:29:25.920 all foreign aid cut, every penny of it,

00:29:28.820 to every country,

00:29:29.920 take all of that money and use it to protect our own children.

00:29:36.200 There's a radical idea.

00:29:40.220 Daily Wire has this report.

00:29:41.760 Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office dropped an attempted murder charge

00:29:45.540 on a garage security worker who disarmed and shot an alleged thief

00:29:49.800 after the suspect fired two bullets at the worker when confronted for peering into parked vehicles.

00:29:54.860 The incident occurred around 5.30 a.m. on Saturday morning

00:29:58.660 when authorities said overnight security guard Musa Diara, 57 years old,

00:30:03.260 approached a man peering into cars on the second floor of the West 31st Street garage

00:30:06.820 and requested to look inside his bag on suspicion of theft.

00:30:11.220 The suspect, who police identified as Charles Rohde,

00:30:14.520 allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Diara twice.

00:30:17.520 One bullet struck him in his stomach, the other grazed his ear

00:30:20.080 as the two men wrestled for control of the firearm.

00:30:23.180 Sources told the Post that Diara allegedly gained possession of the firearm

00:30:26.540 and shot Rohde in the chest.

00:30:28.660 Both members transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition

00:30:31.320 were placed in custody pending an ongoing investigation.

00:30:35.160 Diara, the victim here, the guy that was shot in the stomach,

00:30:37.700 he was handcuffed to his hospital bed

00:30:39.580 because he was a suspect in a crime.

00:30:42.660 Before Bragg's office dropped Diara's attempted murder charge,

00:30:45.180 authorities also initially hit the security guard

00:30:47.120 with charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

00:30:50.860 Criminal possession of a weapon because he took the weapon

00:30:55.240 that was being used in an attempt to kill him.

00:30:58.980 He took that weapon away and then he possessed it

00:31:01.360 and now it's criminal possession of a weapon.

00:31:05.660 However, following an uproar of news reports about the altercation,

00:31:08.380 a spokesperson for Bragg's office told local media prosecutors

00:31:10.760 would back off of Diara in the bloody Saturday morning clash.

00:31:14.840 Pending further investigation,

00:31:16.100 aiding prosecutors are still pursuing charges against Rohde.

00:31:18.740 So this was the story, you know, and it went viral over the weekend.

00:31:26.100 And initially the story was they're going to charge this guy

00:31:29.720 with multiple felonies because he defended himself.

00:31:33.200 First, he did his job as a security guard,

00:31:35.780 which is what he's there for.

00:31:37.960 Sees someone attempting to break into cars,

00:31:40.640 confronts that person, is shot in the stomach,

00:31:43.860 manages to get the gun away from the guy,

00:31:48.400 shoots him because now it's a struggle for,

00:31:50.220 it's a fight to the death basically,

00:31:52.180 it's a struggle for your life.

00:31:54.860 And the first reaction of Alvin Bragg's office

00:31:58.020 is to charge the security guard.

00:32:02.260 And somehow the criminal possession of a weapon charge is even,

00:32:06.360 that doesn't carry,

00:32:07.060 that wouldn't carry the same sentence as the attempted murder,

00:32:08.940 so that's like the worst charge.

00:32:10.520 But that to me is even more gratuitous.

00:32:14.100 That's the most gratuitous thing of this whole entire story.

00:32:19.560 Because you know what that represents?

00:32:21.640 That doesn't just represent,

00:32:23.280 you know, 1.00

00:32:26.040 a stupid, thoughtless, like, overreaction or not. 1.00

00:32:30.220 That is, 1.00

00:32:32.600 you're looking at the situation

00:32:34.160 and trying to find every charge you can find to throw at this guy.

00:32:40.360 You are sifting through this

00:32:42.200 to find every possible charge to throw at him.

00:32:48.040 And they only dropped the charge.

00:32:50.200 This isn't,

00:32:50.700 this doesn't become a non-story now

00:32:54.420 just because they dropped the charge.

00:32:56.040 They only dropped the charge,

00:32:58.140 obviously,

00:32:58.840 because of the backlash.

00:32:59.620 If it wasn't for the backlash,

00:33:01.780 this guy's probably going to prison.

00:33:05.660 We live under a regime

00:33:07.700 that will punish the innocent harsher than the guilty.

00:33:13.300 That's the world we live in now.

00:33:16.580 Where they have more interest

00:33:18.920 in going after the innocent than the guilty.

00:33:23.220 And in this case, you know, especially. 0.92

00:33:25.840 Because you've got this thief

00:33:28.240 kind of common criminal

00:33:30.460 turned attempted murderer.

00:33:34.720 The regime,

00:33:35.740 they don't see that as a threat to them.

00:33:38.560 They don't really care about that.

00:33:39.860 That's not a threat to them.

00:33:41.900 Just to have some thug out on the street 0.99

00:33:43.580 shooting people and stealing from cars 0.92

00:33:45.400 and all the rest of it.

00:33:46.120 What do they care?

00:33:46.960 But if they perceive you to be a threat to them,

00:33:50.920 that's when they put the hammer down.

00:33:54.580 And yeah, this security guard,

00:33:55.780 we don't know anything about his politics,

00:33:57.240 but that doesn't matter in this case.

00:34:00.120 Because the fact that he

00:34:01.960 defended himself,

00:34:05.580 you know,

00:34:05.760 the fact that he was

00:34:06.740 stopping a crime in process,

00:34:09.780 all of these things

00:34:10.980 make him

00:34:11.540 an enemy of the regime,

00:34:13.500 essentially.

00:34:13.760 And that's why they wanted

00:34:16.280 to take him down.

00:34:16.920 And they would have,

00:34:17.820 if not for the fact that people

00:34:18.900 noticed

00:34:19.500 and spoke out against it.

00:34:23.520 All right.

00:34:24.100 Bill Maher was applauded

00:34:25.180 over the weekend

00:34:25.660 for this proposal.

00:34:27.320 I'll play you the clip.

00:34:27.980 He says that there should be

00:34:28.980 a total media blackout

00:34:30.880 of mass shootings.

00:34:31.800 He wants a complete blackout.

00:34:32.980 Don't talk about him anymore.

00:34:34.540 Let's watch the clip.

00:34:36.240 The other thing I'd like to say

00:34:37.520 about this is

00:34:38.140 we're

00:34:38.460 the media anxiously

00:34:39.860 waiting on all this information

00:34:41.400 about the shooter.

00:34:42.200 How about we have a blackout

00:34:44.640 on the shooters

00:34:45.300 and what they did?

00:34:47.360 You know,

00:34:47.920 this is...

00:34:48.680 Because they feed off

00:34:52.140 of each other.

00:34:52.880 Yesterday was the opening

00:34:54.080 of the baseball season.

00:34:55.280 Now, in baseball,

00:34:56.320 when somebody runs

00:34:57.040 on the field,

00:34:57.920 the camera doesn't show it.

00:34:59.280 They don't give that person

00:35:00.460 any publicity.

00:35:01.640 Why can't we at least

00:35:02.800 do that in this country?

00:35:04.360 I don't want to hear

00:35:05.220 anything about it.

00:35:06.380 We know it happened.

00:35:07.620 I don't want to know about...

00:35:08.640 I don't want to know

00:35:09.280 what orientation

00:35:11.120 this person is,

00:35:12.360 how old they are,

00:35:13.560 what their manifesto said. 1.00

00:35:15.000 I don't give a shit 0.99

00:35:15.580 about any of it 0.98

00:35:16.220 because it's just going

00:35:16.840 to inspire the next one

00:35:18.020 because they all feed

00:35:18.940 on each other.

00:35:19.380 That's true.

00:35:19.820 It's the least

00:35:20.240 the media could do.

00:35:22.240 Yeah, except that,

00:35:23.620 I think the horror of it,

00:35:25.880 you know,

00:35:26.240 that there were

00:35:27.280 three children involved

00:35:28.840 and then, of course,

00:35:30.160 the adults

00:35:30.760 and that lives

00:35:31.780 were just taken

00:35:32.640 just like that

00:35:33.560 without any purpose

00:35:35.160 behind it,

00:35:35.920 without...

00:35:36.560 There was no warning.

00:35:37.800 There's a shock

00:35:38.720 to your system.

00:35:39.960 That's the idea

00:35:40.640 and it's a popular idea.

00:35:42.740 Total media blackout.

00:35:43.560 Let's not talk about it.

00:35:44.400 Let's not talk about manifestos.

00:35:45.880 I have to say

00:35:46.260 I disagree with it completely.

00:35:47.540 Maybe an unpopular view.

00:35:49.020 I have those sometimes.

00:35:51.540 And I'll tell you why.

00:35:53.980 For one thing,

00:35:54.740 objectively,

00:35:56.040 somebody walking

00:35:56.840 into a school 0.79

00:35:57.520 and slaughtering people, 0.99

00:35:59.600 it's important news. 0.99

00:36:00.960 Like, it's big news.

00:36:01.940 And it should be treated

00:36:03.120 that way.

00:36:03.500 Which isn't to say

00:36:04.680 that we sensationalize it,

00:36:06.040 but certainly

00:36:06.660 it needs to be reported on.

00:36:08.420 I mean,

00:36:08.580 what were the bigger stories

00:36:10.280 last week

00:36:11.140 that we should have

00:36:12.620 been focused on instead?

00:36:15.080 And part of the story

00:36:16.280 is the question of

00:36:17.280 who did it

00:36:18.040 and why.

00:36:19.180 I mean,

00:36:19.420 these are important questions.

00:36:21.080 It doesn't change

00:36:21.860 what happened

00:36:22.480 or anything like that,

00:36:24.340 but it's part of the story

00:36:26.840 and we should know that.

00:36:28.940 And to prove my point,

00:36:30.520 okay,

00:36:31.280 you know,

00:36:31.500 I don't like the idea.

00:36:33.820 It would never happen anyway,

00:36:35.120 but let's just say

00:36:36.040 in Bill Maher's ideal world,

00:36:38.180 a lot of people,

00:36:39.060 this is their ideal scenario

00:36:41.000 where something like this happens

00:36:42.900 and then the media,

00:36:45.220 they tell you that it happened,

00:36:46.540 they give you the facts

00:36:47.540 of what actually happened,

00:36:48.920 they tell you about the victims,

00:36:50.480 but nothing is said

00:36:51.920 about the shooter.

00:36:53.000 And the shooter remains,

00:36:54.340 you know,

00:36:55.180 a non-entity basically.

00:36:58.060 And that's supposed to be,

00:36:59.800 you know,

00:37:00.080 preferable to what we currently have.

00:37:02.100 I don't think it is.

00:37:03.280 And I'll give you one example

00:37:04.200 to prove my point

00:37:04.840 or to illustrate it anyway,

00:37:06.740 the Las Vegas shooting.

00:37:08.600 Okay.

00:37:09.540 That one was handled

00:37:11.140 exactly as Maher

00:37:12.940 and others apparently want.

00:37:14.340 We heard hardly anything

00:37:16.600 about the shooter.

00:37:18.260 We were never told the motive.

00:37:20.760 We were told very little

00:37:21.560 about his life.

00:37:23.340 Most people don't even

00:37:23.900 remember his name.

00:37:25.300 Like most people,

00:37:26.220 there are certain names

00:37:27.160 of shooters

00:37:27.540 that people remember.

00:37:28.280 you know,

00:37:29.380 Dylan Roof.

00:37:32.160 That's a name

00:37:32.700 everyone remembers.

00:37:34.140 Adam Lanza.

00:37:35.420 But the name

00:37:36.420 of the Las Vegas shooter

00:37:38.480 actually takes me a second.

00:37:39.380 Steven Paddock was his name,

00:37:40.360 so I remember it.

00:37:41.040 But I think

00:37:42.580 if you went to the

00:37:42.980 average person on the street,

00:37:43.540 they wouldn't even be able

00:37:43.980 to tell you his name.

00:37:46.120 And,

00:37:46.560 well,

00:37:47.180 that's ideal, right?

00:37:48.140 That's what we want.

00:37:49.040 That's what we want.

00:37:49.540 Like nobody remembers him.

00:37:50.520 He's an enigma.

00:37:52.340 But is that actually

00:37:55.300 a good thing?

00:37:56.880 I mean,

00:37:57.120 does anyone

00:37:57.640 actually feel good

00:38:00.220 about the fact

00:38:00.980 that 60 people

00:38:02.140 were slaughtered

00:38:02.780 and we were never told why?

00:38:05.960 Because if you want to know

00:38:06.880 what that would be like,

00:38:07.700 what would it be like

00:38:08.620 in a world

00:38:09.460 where

00:38:09.900 these shootings happen

00:38:11.620 and,

00:38:12.940 but the shooter

00:38:13.640 is not turned into

00:38:14.680 any kind of

00:38:15.480 posthumous public figure

00:38:17.160 after the case

00:38:17.920 and we don't care

00:38:19.180 about the motive,

00:38:19.980 we were never told

00:38:20.440 the motive.

00:38:21.440 Do you want to know

00:38:21.780 what that looks like?

00:38:22.440 Well,

00:38:22.580 it looks like the

00:38:23.180 Las Vegas shooting

00:38:23.960 and to me

00:38:25.180 that is not good.

00:38:27.100 You know,

00:38:27.600 I do not feel good

00:38:28.280 about the fact

00:38:28.860 that 60 people died,

00:38:30.660 60 people were massacred

00:38:31.760 and we were,

00:38:32.560 no one ever said why.

00:38:35.700 I don't think

00:38:36.460 that's a good thing.

00:38:39.420 And incidentally,

00:38:40.660 you know,

00:38:41.080 there's a bit

00:38:42.020 of an update here.

00:38:42.880 I should say

00:38:43.500 that we were never

00:38:44.700 given a motive

00:38:45.360 for six years.

00:38:47.180 It's happened back

00:38:47.540 in 2017.

00:38:48.200 So for six years,

00:38:49.440 we were never told

00:38:50.920 why it happened.

00:38:53.220 That is until

00:38:54.100 this past Friday.

00:38:55.860 So as it happens,

00:38:57.160 three days ago,

00:38:58.420 the FBI dumped

00:38:59.500 a bunch of documents

00:39:00.400 indicating that,

00:39:01.900 and these are

00:39:02.260 the headlines now,

00:39:03.020 if you go and Google

00:39:04.480 the Las Vegas shooting,

00:39:05.480 all these headlines

00:39:05.980 will pop up

00:39:06.560 that are three

00:39:07.980 or four days old

00:39:08.600 telling us that

00:39:09.780 a bunch of these

00:39:10.460 documents came out

00:39:11.160 and it indicates

00:39:11.760 that maybe

00:39:13.040 the reason he did it

00:39:14.280 was that

00:39:15.100 he was angry

00:39:16.240 that the casinos

00:39:17.860 in Vegas

00:39:18.440 didn't give enough

00:39:19.240 perks to VIP customers.

00:39:22.340 That's what

00:39:22.860 they're telling us now.

00:39:24.480 That he was

00:39:25.260 essentially a

00:39:26.540 disgruntled

00:39:27.460 customer

00:39:30.060 who wasn't

00:39:31.800 giving enough perks

00:39:32.560 as an obsessive

00:39:34.340 compulsive gambler

00:39:35.400 and as a VIP gambler.

00:39:37.580 He wasn't giving enough perks

00:39:38.260 and he was upset

00:39:38.680 about that

00:39:39.140 and that's why

00:39:40.520 he somehow

00:39:41.780 got all of that

00:39:43.500 weaponry,

00:39:44.200 that whole arsenal

00:39:44.900 up into his hotel room 0.68

00:39:47.800 and then slaughtered 0.91

00:39:48.660 60 people

00:39:49.180 at a music festival.

00:39:51.900 Right?

00:39:53.060 Well,

00:39:53.320 case closed,

00:39:53.800 I guess.

00:39:54.360 Yeah,

00:39:54.500 that was why.

00:39:55.400 Six years,

00:39:55.860 nothing,

00:39:56.660 and then six years later

00:39:57.720 they say,

00:39:58.360 oh,

00:39:58.620 it was because,

00:39:58.960 yeah,

00:39:59.040 he was upset

00:39:59.400 about not getting,

00:40:00.260 you know,

00:40:00.500 he didn't get enough

00:40:02.080 free drinks or something.

00:40:04.720 He didn't like

00:40:05.480 the sweets that he gave

00:40:06.700 him in the hotel

00:40:07.260 were not big enough.

00:40:07.920 Okay,

00:40:09.480 no one buys that,

00:40:10.320 obviously.

00:40:10.860 It's absurd

00:40:12.580 is what it is

00:40:15.180 and it only goes to show

00:40:16.760 that it's not a good thing

00:40:18.700 when we're not told

00:40:19.440 why this happens.

00:40:20.200 It's also,

00:40:20.660 this also means

00:40:21.960 that the authorities,

00:40:23.280 you know,

00:40:23.420 the powers that be

00:40:24.200 can,

00:40:24.640 they can,

00:40:25.440 it's like it gives them

00:40:26.180 the ability to hide things,

00:40:27.500 to hide details

00:40:28.580 that are inconvenient

00:40:29.380 to them

00:40:30.000 and I think everybody

00:40:31.720 certainly has

00:40:32.520 a sense

00:40:33.420 that when it comes

00:40:33.920 to the Las Vegas shooting,

00:40:35.540 there are a lot of details

00:40:36.700 that for whatever reason,

00:40:37.820 we can only speculate

00:40:38.700 because all we're left

00:40:39.360 with is speculation

00:40:39.940 but there are many details

00:40:41.760 of that shooting

00:40:42.380 that the authorities decided

00:40:44.400 they didn't want us to know.

00:40:46.660 Why didn't they want us

00:40:47.560 to know it?

00:40:48.700 What's the truth

00:40:49.480 of what actually happened?

00:40:51.020 We'll never know.

00:40:53.240 But that's what it looks like

00:40:54.840 when

00:40:55.880 these mass shooters

00:40:59.300 are actually made

00:41:00.440 into nameless,

00:41:01.540 obscure people.

00:41:02.620 I don't think

00:41:06.320 it's preferable.

00:41:07.860 Let's get to

00:41:08.500 the comment section.

00:41:10.200 Daily cancellations

00:41:10.880 are the law

00:41:11.600 and order of the day.

00:41:14.980 We're the sweet baby gang.

00:41:19.180 You know,

00:41:19.680 it's really hard

00:41:20.080 to trust anything

00:41:20.800 or anyone these days.

00:41:21.800 If you've been paying attention

00:41:22.980 to current events

00:41:23.760 at all these past few years,

00:41:25.160 you know that you need

00:41:25.940 to be prepared

00:41:26.480 for anything.

00:41:27.960 There is no better place

00:41:28.920 to start

00:41:52.360 a wide variety

00:41:53.220 of breakfast,

00:41:54.520 lunch,

00:41:55.360 drinks,

00:41:55.780 snacks.

00:41:56.200 Best of all,

00:41:57.100 it's actually delicious.

00:41:58.520 Don't put off

00:41:59.000 your preparedness

00:41:59.420 any longer.

00:42:00.380 Tomorrow,

00:42:08.940 right now.

00:42:09.600 That's preparewithwalsh.com.

00:42:12.380 Before we get to the comments,

00:42:13.200 I just want to show you

00:42:13.720 this very quickly.

00:42:14.480 We'll have to put this

00:42:14.960 up on the screen.

00:42:15.680 This is some more

00:42:17.020 of what I deal with

00:42:17.660 at home,

00:42:18.080 more public shaming

00:42:19.440 from my wife.

00:42:21.560 But I have no shame.

00:42:23.320 I'm not ashamed.

00:42:24.640 So I'll show it to you.

00:42:25.440 She came out

00:42:25.820 on the patio yesterday

00:42:26.760 to take this picture

00:42:28.140 of me,

00:42:28.840 which she tweeted.

00:42:29.460 with a mocking caption.

00:42:35.240 And because we don't have,

00:42:36.000 we're ordering patio furniture,

00:42:37.180 all this stuff in the patio.

00:42:37.740 We don't have it right now.

00:42:38.920 And as you can see,

00:42:40.020 I'm smoking my cigar.

00:42:41.640 I'm doing some work,

00:42:43.060 huddled under an umbrella

00:42:44.440 to block the sun.

00:42:46.140 And I've got my slippers

00:42:48.160 and my purple socks.

00:42:49.180 And that's the scene.

00:42:51.900 And listen,

00:42:52.820 lots of people

00:42:53.400 are making fun of me

00:42:53.920 for this,

00:42:54.900 being mocked

00:42:55.700 pretty ruthlessly.

00:42:58.100 You may not like it,

00:42:59.500 but this is what

00:43:00.160 a real man looks like,

00:43:01.140 okay?

00:43:01.480 This is high performance

00:43:02.960 masculinity.

00:43:04.080 This is a man

00:43:04.940 at his peak

00:43:06.460 in his purple socks

00:43:07.800 and sandals

00:43:08.420 or slippers,

00:43:09.960 slouching under

00:43:11.100 a small umbrella

00:43:11.860 so that he can smoke

00:43:12.740 a cigar without

00:43:13.240 getting sunburned.

00:43:14.020 That's manliness.

00:43:18.420 You may not like it again,

00:43:19.700 but you might not look,

00:43:20.640 you don't always like

00:43:21.360 what it looks like,

00:43:21.920 but that's what it looks like.

00:43:23.660 It's also my wife's fault 0.99

00:43:24.560 because if I could just

00:43:25.460 smoke cigars

00:43:26.140 in the living room,

00:43:27.520 then we wouldn't

00:43:27.940 have this problem.

00:43:29.600 The socks also,

00:43:30.420 by the way,

00:43:30.780 are purple for the record.

00:43:32.940 They're not pink.

00:43:34.040 But I would wear pink socks.

00:43:35.480 These socks are

00:43:36.540 from my

00:43:37.940 sock subscription service

00:43:39.040 and I'm very proud of them.

00:43:41.820 Now this is from

00:43:42.760 the Dalai Lama says,

00:43:45.520 I assume not the one

00:43:46.540 and only,

00:43:47.660 there's about five decades

00:43:48.640 of politicians

00:43:49.240 I'd need to see

00:43:49.980 held accountable

00:43:50.640 and hundreds of crimes

00:43:51.640 I'd need to see prosecuted

00:43:52.700 before I'd consider

00:43:53.420 charging Trump

00:43:54.320 for anything

00:43:55.240 he's been accused of.

00:43:57.560 That's basically

00:43:58.280 where I fall

00:43:58.780 on this Dalai Lama.

00:44:00.760 You know,

00:44:01.080 if we actually lived

00:44:03.100 in some alternate universe

00:44:04.520 where politicians

00:44:07.020 are held to

00:44:07.840 such a high standard

00:44:09.220 of conduct

00:44:09.780 that they're even

00:44:11.040 being prosecuted

00:44:11.900 for things like this,

00:44:14.800 then that would change

00:44:15.840 the calculation

00:44:16.880 for me entirely.

00:44:17.640 But that would mean

00:44:18.140 that Trump was,

00:44:19.680 like you point out,

00:44:20.740 he would be in a line

00:44:22.000 of hundreds of people

00:44:23.140 before him,

00:44:23.660 hundreds of politicians

00:44:24.240 before him

00:44:24.640 who got prosecuted

00:44:25.580 for similar things

00:44:26.500 and worse things.

00:44:28.660 So this is like,

00:44:29.860 again,

00:44:30.760 an alternate universe

00:44:32.140 where when you're

00:44:34.280 a politician,

00:44:34.820 you don't get away

00:44:36.060 with anything

00:44:37.160 at all.

00:44:38.520 okay,

00:44:40.080 and if you do

00:44:40.820 have any overdue

00:44:41.700 library books

00:44:42.300 from 1995,

00:44:44.200 we're going to get you

00:44:45.060 for that.

00:44:45.600 We're going to try

00:44:45.880 to put you in jail

00:44:46.480 for that.

00:44:47.260 If that's the universe

00:44:48.280 we lived in,

00:44:49.500 then it would change

00:44:51.000 the reaction

00:44:51.520 to this.

00:44:52.680 Because then the whole

00:44:53.300 argument that Trump's

00:44:53.880 being singled out,

00:44:55.000 that would be gone.

00:44:56.100 But that's not

00:44:58.920 the universe we live in.

00:45:01.020 Which means that

00:45:01.900 Trump is being

00:45:02.420 singled out.

00:45:03.620 They're not suddenly

00:45:04.480 becoming sticklers.

00:45:06.800 And also,

00:45:07.420 in this alternate

00:45:08.340 fairytale universe

00:45:09.160 we're talking about,

00:45:11.600 for this to make sense,

00:45:13.760 not only would

00:45:14.760 all these politicians

00:45:16.040 be constantly

00:45:16.660 getting prosecuted

00:45:17.300 for things,

00:45:18.240 but also

00:45:18.760 the DA

00:45:21.340 who brings these charges

00:45:22.400 would still,

00:45:23.960 first and foremost,

00:45:24.800 be pursuing actual

00:45:26.140 violent criminals.

00:45:27.540 Like he's just

00:45:28.000 charging everything.

00:45:28.700 Anyone who steps

00:45:29.560 over the line

00:45:29.900 is getting charged.

00:45:32.220 But that's not the case.

00:45:33.880 Which tells us

00:45:34.820 that this is

00:45:35.440 politically motivated.

00:45:37.140 Whatever else

00:45:37.860 you think about it,

00:45:38.900 politically motivated,

00:45:39.920 there's just

00:45:40.280 no doubt about it.

00:45:42.020 The people who support this,

00:45:44.160 most of them

00:45:45.120 can barely bring themselves

00:45:46.820 to disagree

00:45:48.140 with that idea.

00:45:49.580 It's like there's

00:45:50.400 this implicit agreement

00:45:51.420 among everybody

00:45:52.180 on both sides of this

00:45:53.840 that this is primarily

00:45:55.340 politically motivated.

00:45:57.340 Which makes it

00:45:58.240 totally outrageous.

00:46:01.740 Dan says,

00:46:02.560 I'm a psychiatric

00:46:03.300 nurse practitioner.

00:46:04.320 I believe that the reason

00:46:05.100 the suicide rate

00:46:05.780 is so high

00:46:06.520 among youth

00:46:07.260 and especially people

00:46:08.100 who identify as transgender

00:46:09.220 is because

00:46:10.300 they're being taught

00:46:11.080 that two things

00:46:11.780 can be true

00:46:12.280 at the same time,

00:46:13.080 which is irrational.

00:46:14.980 Which splits their mind

00:46:16.180 into an impossible position.

00:46:18.320 Irrationality

00:46:18.780 and contradiction,

00:46:19.540 especially in terms

00:46:20.620 of a person's

00:46:21.160 personal identity,

00:46:21.780 are the causes

00:46:23.140 of this problem.

00:46:24.600 I think there's

00:46:24.880 a lot of truth to that.

00:46:26.300 I think that

00:46:27.140 what it does primarily

00:46:29.060 is it creates anxiety.

00:46:32.300 You know,

00:46:32.540 when your mind,

00:46:33.500 as you say,

00:46:33.860 is split into this

00:46:34.940 and you have this

00:46:36.520 internal self-contradiction

00:46:38.100 going on,

00:46:39.180 it creates confusion.

00:46:42.840 And when you have confusion,

00:46:44.360 you have the unknown.

00:46:45.920 It's a lack of understanding.

00:46:48.020 And that's

00:46:49.000 the source of anxiety.

00:46:50.220 Anxiety comes from

00:46:51.380 the unknown.

00:46:53.980 And so as I've said before,

00:46:55.060 gender ideology

00:46:55.780 is like an anxiety machine. 0.98

00:46:57.940 It's an anxiety factory

00:47:01.060 just churning it out.

00:47:03.980 Wendy says,

00:47:04.540 it's funny how we can tell

00:47:05.400 sex by bones

00:47:06.400 even with non-human primates,

00:47:08.740 but now when it comes to humans,

00:47:10.560 they're trying to act

00:47:11.200 like it's impossible.

00:47:13.100 Well, that's true.

00:47:14.680 And we can also determine

00:47:16.840 the sex of all animals.

00:47:21.200 Right?

00:47:21.380 There's still,

00:47:22.800 we still have not quite

00:47:23.980 gotten to the point

00:47:24.760 where,

00:47:26.680 I'm sure we'll get there,

00:47:28.680 but even most of the

00:47:31.460 craziest proponents 0.79

00:47:33.140 of gender ideology

00:47:34.100 will,

00:47:34.880 you know,

00:47:35.060 they're not going to take

00:47:35.880 any issue

00:47:36.400 if you identify

00:47:37.680 the sex of a dog

00:47:39.660 or a cat

00:47:40.240 or an elephant,

00:47:41.120 you know,

00:47:41.440 or a fish.

00:47:42.600 So there's agreement there

00:47:45.740 that sex is determined

00:47:46.700 biologically.

00:47:48.880 Now, I say that,

00:47:49.940 but, you know,

00:47:50.420 infamously in What is Woman, 0.97

00:47:52.260 I posed this question

00:47:53.920 about chickens

00:47:54.720 to one of the doctors

00:47:59.220 who does this stuff

00:48:00.120 and she said that,

00:48:01.320 well, we don't know

00:48:01.960 the chicken's gender identity.

00:48:03.960 But for the most part,

00:48:05.200 that's not the position

00:48:06.000 they're taking right now.

00:48:07.120 So they'll admit

00:48:08.160 that when it comes to animals,

00:48:10.480 yeah, we can tell the sex.

00:48:13.680 But then these people

00:48:14.220 would also tell you

00:48:15.240 that almost every single

00:48:17.220 one of them would tell you

00:48:17.740 that we're nothing

00:48:18.360 but animals ourselves.

00:48:19.540 In fact, there's like

00:48:20.020 almost no difference

00:48:20.660 between us and any other.

00:48:22.040 We're not even better

00:48:23.280 than,

00:48:25.940 we're not superior

00:48:26.620 to a dog or a cat.

00:48:28.540 Maybe we're worse, actually,

00:48:29.720 a lot of them would tell us.

00:48:32.120 And yet we belong

00:48:33.060 in this special category

00:48:34.100 when it comes to sex.

00:48:35.160 So for every other animal,

00:48:36.700 we're just like an animal,

00:48:37.420 we're no different,

00:48:38.240 you say.

00:48:38.600 And for all the rest of them,

00:48:42.000 we want to know their sex, 0.95

00:48:43.160 we just look biologically

00:48:44.040 and we can tell.

00:48:45.380 But we belong

00:48:46.240 in this special category?

00:48:47.680 How does that work?

00:48:50.480 Like, are we part of nature or not?

00:48:54.260 Or are we these like

00:48:55.480 deified beings

00:48:58.660 that hover over it

00:48:59.960 and belong to this

00:49:01.980 special category of existence?

00:49:05.220 And finally,

00:49:06.040 Aaron Johnson says,

00:49:06.920 Matt, you're exactly correct

00:49:08.060 regarding reparations.

00:49:09.280 Truthfully,

00:49:09.700 American descendants

00:49:10.280 of African slaves

00:49:11.040 may not even exist

00:49:12.040 had their ancestors

00:49:13.120 been left to survive

00:49:14.140 in Africa.

00:49:15.080 Well, it's funny

00:49:15.800 you should bring that up

00:49:16.780 because we did talk

00:49:17.660 about this on Friday

00:49:19.100 and it's going to shock you

00:49:20.980 to learn

00:49:21.460 that some people

00:49:22.700 were a little bit upset

00:49:23.600 by our conversation

00:49:24.480 and that is the topic

00:49:25.620 of our daily cancellation.

00:49:27.480 I want to talk to you

00:49:28.140 about something

00:49:28.740 I don't usually talk about,

00:49:29.960 hair.

00:49:30.420 Not mine.

00:49:31.000 My hair is handsome

00:49:31.720 and brilliant

00:49:32.120 just like the rest of me

00:49:33.400 because I use

00:49:34.160 Jeremy's Razor

00:49:35.140 shampoo and conditioner.

00:49:36.580 I'm talking about yours

00:49:38.060 because if you're not

00:49:39.240 also using Jeremy's

00:49:40.500 restorative tea tree

00:49:41.600 and argon oil blend

00:49:42.820 to wash your mane,

00:49:44.260 you're doing it wrong

00:49:45.120 and you are asking

00:49:45.980 to be canceled.

00:49:47.400 Jeremy's Razors

00:49:47.900 is more than a razor company.

00:49:49.140 It's a men's grooming brand 0.99

00:49:50.300 that doesn't hate men. 0.98

00:49:51.660 Their shampoo and conditioner

00:49:52.540 along with their

00:49:53.220 exfoliating charcoal body wash

00:49:54.800 are all made

00:49:55.740 from high quality

00:49:56.500 natural ingredients

00:49:57.300 right here in the USA.

00:49:58.420 They're sulfate free

00:49:59.640 and even though

00:50:00.560 I still don't know

00:50:01.060 what a paraben is,

00:50:03.300 they don't have those either.

00:50:04.220 No sulfates,

00:50:05.400 no parabens,

00:50:06.500 but most important of all,

00:50:07.720 Jeremy's Razor's

00:50:08.280 hair and body bundles

00:50:09.080 are woke free as well.

00:50:11.120 Stop giving your money

00:50:11.900 to woke companies

00:50:12.540 who hate you.

00:50:13.080 Head over to

00:50:13.520 jeremysrazors.com

00:50:14.680 and check out

00:50:15.240 their shampoo,

00:50:16.040 conditioner,

00:50:16.400 and body wash bundles today.

00:50:18.360 Now let's get to

00:50:18.900 our daily cancellation.

00:50:23.920 If you listened

00:50:24.660 to the daily cancellation

00:50:25.580 on Friday,

00:50:26.200 then you already knew

00:50:26.940 that this daily cancellation

00:50:28.080 was coming.

00:50:28.820 On Friday,

00:50:29.320 we discussed

00:50:29.860 the idea of reparations,

00:50:31.980 in particular,

00:50:32.540 the plan proposed

00:50:33.320 in California

00:50:33.860 that would dole out

00:50:34.660 $5 million apiece

00:50:35.840 to black residents

00:50:36.620 as repayment 0.99

00:50:37.440 for the enslavement 0.55

00:50:38.420 that they never experienced

00:50:40.020 and that nobody

00:50:40.660 they've ever known

00:50:42.040 or spoken to

00:50:42.680 has experienced.

00:50:43.920 During that segment,

00:50:44.980 I expanded on

00:50:45.680 a counterpoint,

00:50:47.460 a counterpoint to reparations

00:50:48.660 that had been made

00:50:49.380 by a black college professor

00:50:50.600 named Wilford Riley,

00:50:52.320 which was a restatement

00:50:53.600 of an argument

00:50:54.140 made by others

00:50:54.880 through the years,

00:50:55.400 including Dinesh D'Souza,

00:50:56.980 which says that

00:50:58.020 reparation proposals

00:50:59.240 are incoherent

00:51:00.640 because they rest

00:51:01.460 on the speculative notion

00:51:02.760 that descendants

00:51:04.220 of slaves

00:51:05.120 are in a worse place

00:51:06.300 today than they

00:51:06.840 otherwise would have been

00:51:07.820 if their ancestors

00:51:08.560 were never enslaved.

00:51:10.140 Now, if this speculation

00:51:11.100 is not accurate,

00:51:12.480 if they are not

00:51:13.580 in a worse spot,

00:51:14.920 then there's nothing

00:51:15.460 to repair.

00:51:16.640 Nothing to repair

00:51:17.420 for them anyway.

00:51:18.660 Certainly, we know

00:51:19.160 that the slaves

00:51:19.780 suffered greatly,

00:51:20.600 but the slaves 0.55

00:51:21.060 are all dead,

00:51:22.240 so the reparations

00:51:22.940 don't go to them,

00:51:24.080 but rather go to people

00:51:25.120 who, again,

00:51:25.600 never experienced slavery.

00:51:26.800 And so we must ask

00:51:27.620 what exactly

00:51:28.840 we are repairing

00:51:29.800 as far as they

00:51:31.000 are concerned.

00:51:32.440 According to this argument,

00:51:33.380 which I find compelling

00:51:34.460 and interesting,

00:51:35.760 the more plausible

00:51:36.600 speculation is that,

00:51:37.800 in fact,

00:51:38.140 the ancestors of slaves

00:51:39.020 are in a better spot today,

00:51:40.360 not worse,

00:51:40.940 because of slavery.

00:51:41.880 This doesn't justify slavery

00:51:43.180 or make it okay,

00:51:44.220 obviously.

00:51:44.940 It simply calls into question

00:51:46.280 the basic logic

00:51:47.240 behind allowing a group

00:51:48.260 to literally cash in

00:51:49.640 on historical atrocities.

00:51:52.120 That's the point.

00:51:53.980 And in an incredibly

00:51:55.540 surprising turn of events,

00:51:56.680 people aren't happy

00:51:58.200 with this point.

00:52:00.420 And this came

00:52:01.020 as a great shock

00:52:01.660 to me personally

00:52:02.260 as I'm a people pleaser

00:52:03.280 who always tries

00:52:04.080 to avoid controversy

00:52:05.040 and conflict

00:52:05.580 whenever I can.

00:52:06.940 But it found me this time,

00:52:08.360 maybe for the first time,

00:52:09.600 starting as always

00:52:10.700 with the requisite

00:52:11.580 media matters clip.

00:52:12.880 Our PR reps pulled

00:52:13.900 a two-minute slice

00:52:14.740 of the 10-minute monologue,

00:52:16.440 did not provide any context,

00:52:18.440 didn't even clarify

00:52:19.340 that this was a conversation

00:52:20.580 about reparations specifically,

00:52:22.780 and they posted a clip

00:52:23.940 which then went viral.

00:52:25.500 Now, for reference,

00:52:26.180 we'll play the actual video

00:52:27.720 they posted

00:52:28.260 so that you understand

00:52:29.820 where we are,

00:52:30.580 what we're talking about

00:52:31.160 for the rest of the conversation,

00:52:32.540 which again is just

00:52:33.280 one small sliver

00:52:34.980 of a much longer monologue

00:52:36.600 where I flesh out

00:52:37.440 all these points

00:52:38.140 and also explain

00:52:38.940 why I'm making the points

00:52:40.600 and what the overall point is.

00:52:42.860 But media matters

00:52:43.440 never bothers

00:52:44.100 with silly things

00:52:45.000 like context, 0.80

00:52:45.600 and they also know

00:52:46.060 that the drooling hordes

00:52:47.260 who get worked up

00:52:48.000 by out-of-context clips

00:52:49.180 also aren't going to stop

00:52:50.880 to wonder about the context.

00:52:53.360 So with that in mind,

00:52:54.420 here's what they posted.

00:52:56.180 In fact,

00:52:57.140 it seems rather clear 0.84

00:52:58.100 that black Americans

00:52:59.060 are doing better here today

00:53:00.640 than they would be

00:53:01.720 had their ancestors

00:53:02.940 generations ago

00:53:03.900 never been brought

00:53:04.660 to these shores.

00:53:05.580 We can prove this point

00:53:06.560 by simply asking

00:53:07.260 which African country

00:53:08.260 anyone asking for reparations

00:53:09.480 would prefer to live in.

00:53:11.100 The answer,

00:53:11.620 of course,

00:53:11.880 is none of them.

00:53:13.020 Now,

00:53:13.480 you might offer the rebuttal

00:53:14.740 that if slavery never existed,

00:53:16.160 if we're reimagining history

00:53:17.300 without that institution at all,

00:53:19.180 then Africa itself

00:53:20.600 would be in a better shape,

00:53:21.740 better place,

00:53:22.400 and better shape,

00:53:23.020 and maybe indeed

00:53:24.180 black Americans 0.98

00:53:24.800 would be better off there. 0.98

00:53:26.220 But this seems highly unlikely

00:53:27.820 and it also ignores the fact

00:53:29.140 that Africans participated

00:53:30.400 in slavery

00:53:30.960 and the slave trade

00:53:32.300 as much as they were

00:53:32.960 victims of it.

00:53:33.700 Not to mention,

00:53:34.820 if we're reimagining the world

00:53:36.480 without African slavery,

00:53:38.420 then we have to also imagine it

00:53:39.940 without all other forms

00:53:41.260 of global slavery

00:53:42.060 since African slavery

00:53:42.980 was merely one variety,

00:53:44.360 one offshoot

00:53:45.140 of this global institution.

00:53:48.280 And now we have totally

00:53:50.540 in that point

00:53:51.360 rewritten the history

00:53:52.620 of the world

00:53:53.100 in a way so dramatic

00:53:54.480 that it's absolutely

00:53:55.820 impossible to say

00:53:56.960 which individuals today

00:53:58.760 would end up worse

00:53:59.740 or better

00:54:00.320 in this alternate universe.

00:54:01.860 I mean,

00:54:02.140 if you go back in time

00:54:03.400 and get rid of slavery

00:54:04.760 from the entire world,

00:54:07.200 you have just,

00:54:08.280 it's impossible to say

00:54:09.800 what the world looks like

00:54:10.480 right now.

00:54:12.200 Actually,

00:54:12.820 what we can say

00:54:13.760 is that we'd all end up worse.

00:54:16.060 All of us today

00:54:16.740 would be in a worse spot.

00:54:19.260 If slavery never existed

00:54:21.960 at all across the entire globe.

00:54:24.200 Because a change

00:54:25.600 that significant

00:54:26.360 would likely

00:54:27.000 shift the course of events

00:54:28.560 in a way that would mean

00:54:29.340 none of us would even exist.

00:54:30.620 It would be a world

00:54:31.240 full of other people

00:54:32.340 who are not us.

00:54:34.720 So I know that I benefit today

00:54:36.400 from virtually everything

00:54:37.600 my ancestors did

00:54:38.700 and everything did to them

00:54:40.060 because if any of that

00:54:40.900 had not happened,

00:54:41.780 there's a very good chance

00:54:42.540 that I never would have

00:54:43.300 come into being.

00:54:44.300 And as I see it,

00:54:45.020 I benefit from being

00:54:46.200 if the other option

00:54:47.020 is not being.

00:54:49.140 Well,

00:54:49.540 you can already

00:54:50.020 imagine the reaction

00:54:52.120 so we don't need to read

00:54:52.960 through very many of these.

00:54:53.960 But here are a few people

00:54:55.000 of the thousands

00:54:55.800 who expressed their outrage

00:54:56.760 at a point that

00:54:57.420 it goes without saying

00:54:58.120 none of them even

00:54:59.140 attempted to refute.

00:55:00.180 Heath Mayo,

00:55:00.880 a man who calls himself

00:55:01.780 a Christian conservative

00:55:02.680 and who also happens

00:55:03.500 to look exactly like his name

00:55:04.960 for the record,

00:55:05.960 tweeted,

00:55:06.160 This is Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire

00:55:07.980 and increasingly, 0.91

00:55:08.760 you're just a bad person

00:55:10.260 if you support this 0.99

00:55:11.260 know-nothing filth

00:55:12.880 with your subscription dollars.

00:55:14.860 Bernice King,

00:55:15.580 the daughter of

00:55:16.100 Martin Luther King Jr.,

00:55:17.020 responded,

00:55:17.900 And here it is,

00:55:18.420 one of the reasons

00:55:18.960 why some don't want

00:55:20.140 the horrors of slavery

00:55:20.960 taught in schools

00:55:21.780 because they don't see it,

00:55:23.100 or Jim Crow,

00:55:24.140 as an atrocity,

00:55:25.500 but a grotesque statement,

00:55:26.860 an egregious insult

00:55:27.760 to the countless Africans

00:55:28.780 who perished in the Atlantic

00:55:30.040 or were enslaved here.

00:55:31.800 Of course,

00:55:32.340 race-hustling shill

00:55:33.180 Roland Martin

00:55:33.840 got his two cents in.

00:55:35.580 This analysis by Matt Walsh 1.00

00:55:36.840 is the dumbest 1.00

00:55:37.740 you'll ever see. 1.00

00:55:38.980 This idiot wants to opine 1.00

00:55:40.220 about the condition of Africa, 1.00

00:55:41.340 yet makes no mention

00:55:42.260 of racist white colonialism. 0.99

00:55:44.160 Hell, 1.00

00:55:44.480 racist whites 1.00

00:55:45.060 redrew the boundaries 0.99

00:55:46.360 of Africa

00:55:46.840 at the 1885 Berlin Conference.

00:55:48.960 What an a**.

00:55:50.280 Wajahat Ali 0.58

00:55:51.060 kept it simple,

00:55:51.980 pro-slavery, eh?

00:55:53.160 Hell of a plot twist.

00:55:54.460 A guy named Ryan McMakin

00:55:55.700 posted,

00:55:56.420 Walsh has been good 0.98

00:55:57.200 on exposing the dumbness 0.98

00:55:58.280 of the whole

00:55:58.680 men-can-be-women thing,

00:55:59.760 but there are not words

00:56:00.680 sufficient to describe 1.00

00:56:01.460 how stupid 1.00

00:56:02.060 this statement about slavery 1.00

00:56:03.000 is.

00:56:03.860 The argument is the sort of

00:56:04.800 arcane, trivial, 0.99

00:56:05.940 mental masturbation 0.99

00:56:06.960 I would expect 1.00

00:56:07.520 from a college freshman

00:56:08.440 philosophy major.

00:56:09.720 And given that his apparent

00:56:10.600 point here is to basically say,

00:56:12.300 stop saying slavery

00:56:13.280 was so bad,

00:56:14.520 it's a totally bizarre

00:56:15.620 hill to die on.

00:56:16.940 And there was also

00:56:17.440 a lot of stuff like this.

00:56:18.860 When Matt Walsh

00:56:19.360 eventually dies,

00:56:20.220 a hopefully incredibly

00:56:21.140 horrific, painful death,

00:56:22.700 it'll be very cool

00:56:23.440 watching people celebrate.

00:56:25.760 Now,

00:56:26.220 I actually agree

00:56:26.960 with that last one.

00:56:28.780 Not the bit about

00:56:29.560 hoping I die painfully.

00:56:30.760 I'd, you know, 0.73

00:56:31.060 I'd prefer not to die painfully,

00:56:32.260 but the second part,

00:56:33.760 I know that many people

00:56:34.900 will celebrate my death

00:56:35.940 and I take great pride in that.

00:56:37.100 If I spent my life

00:56:38.700 fighting against

00:56:40.260 the left's cultural agenda

00:56:41.340 and then I died

00:56:42.200 and they didn't

00:56:43.140 cheer over my death

00:56:44.300 and mock me

00:56:45.060 as I lay buried

00:56:45.980 in the ground,

00:56:46.940 that would be a strong

00:56:48.200 indication that I was

00:56:49.180 incredibly ineffective.

00:56:51.100 The left will 1.00

00:56:51.920 celebrate your death 0.99

00:56:53.180 if they perceive you 0.97

00:56:54.140 as a serious threat.

00:56:55.780 And I certainly wish

00:56:56.840 to be a serious threat.

00:56:57.760 But that aside,

00:57:00.280 let me offer

00:57:02.220 a few thoughts

00:57:03.540 in response to

00:57:04.400 the responses.

00:57:05.500 Two thoughts

00:57:05.900 to be precise.

00:57:07.300 First,

00:57:07.840 predictably,

00:57:09.040 everybody in the

00:57:09.640 outrage mob

00:57:10.180 accuses me of arguing

00:57:11.220 that slavery wasn't bad 1.00

00:57:12.620 or that it wasn't

00:57:13.220 an atrocity

00:57:13.860 or that it was

00:57:14.780 actually good.

00:57:16.200 I didn't say

00:57:17.040 any of those things,

00:57:18.460 nor did I imply

00:57:19.340 or suggest them.

00:57:20.780 In fact,

00:57:21.080 I refer to slavery 0.98

00:57:22.300 as an atrocity

00:57:23.420 in the very segment

00:57:24.200 where Bernice King

00:57:25.900 says I argue

00:57:26.560 that it wasn't

00:57:27.140 an atrocity.

00:57:28.560 Obviously,

00:57:29.140 I believe it was

00:57:29.660 an atrocity.

00:57:30.300 Everyone believes that.

00:57:31.340 It's a point

00:57:31.820 so self-evident

00:57:32.980 and clear

00:57:33.680 that it doesn't

00:57:34.760 even need to be said.

00:57:37.020 Okay?

00:57:37.260 It's actually,

00:57:37.740 it is a pointless

00:57:39.540 thing to even say

00:57:41.040 because everyone

00:57:41.840 knows it.

00:57:43.780 There is not

00:57:44.820 a pro-slavery

00:57:45.920 faction

00:57:46.540 in the modern

00:57:47.280 United States.

00:57:48.580 So there's no need

00:57:49.500 to continually

00:57:50.060 assure each other

00:57:51.060 that slavery was bad.

00:57:52.160 Hey, did you know

00:57:52.420 slavery was bad?

00:57:53.300 Yeah, it was bad.

00:57:53.980 It's really bad.

00:57:54.480 Very, very bad.

00:57:55.080 It's all bad.

00:57:55.600 It's really bad.

00:57:56.560 We know that.

00:57:57.580 It's one of the few

00:57:58.380 things that we all

00:57:59.300 still know.

00:58:01.220 So when the

00:58:01.900 Pitchfork mob

00:58:02.560 accuses me of

00:58:03.300 holding the view

00:58:03.820 that slavery

00:58:04.380 wasn't bad,

00:58:06.060 what they mean

00:58:06.940 is that all

00:58:07.820 I'm allowed to

00:58:08.620 say about slavery

00:58:09.740 is that it was bad.

00:58:11.760 Okay?

00:58:12.440 They want us

00:58:13.180 to talk about slavery.

00:58:14.620 They definitely

00:58:15.220 want us to talk about it.

00:58:15.880 They want us to harp on it.

00:58:16.760 They want us to go

00:58:17.340 on and on about it

00:58:18.160 just like they do.

00:58:19.800 But the only thing

00:58:20.940 we're ever allowed

00:58:21.580 to say is

00:58:22.740 some variation

00:58:23.740 of it was bad

00:58:25.200 over and over

00:58:26.840 and over again.

00:58:28.800 If you try to move on

00:58:30.260 to the next sentence,

00:58:32.140 it was bad,

00:58:33.400 end of sentence,

00:58:34.200 and then continue

00:58:35.080 and say something else

00:58:35.840 about it,

00:58:36.600 if you try to articulate

00:58:37.680 some other thought,

00:58:39.480 if you try to say

00:58:40.400 anything else about it,

00:58:41.900 you are automatically

00:58:42.920 guilty of thinking

00:58:43.700 that it's not bad.

00:58:44.820 In other words,

00:58:48.080 if it was bad

00:58:49.380 isn't your only thought

00:58:50.840 about slavery,

00:58:51.680 then you don't have

00:58:53.620 that thought about it

00:58:54.660 at all.

00:58:55.760 So,

00:58:56.380 either the only thing

00:58:58.480 you think about slavery

00:58:59.240 is that it was bad

00:59:00.040 or you think it was good.

00:59:02.880 You're not allowed

00:59:03.560 to have,

00:59:04.000 you know,

00:59:04.460 you're only allowed

00:59:05.260 to have one thought

00:59:06.180 per topic.

00:59:07.340 And this is how

00:59:08.040 they treat slavery, 0.51

00:59:08.900 it's how they treat

00:59:09.380 every other subject.

00:59:11.020 They have,

00:59:11.820 for every subject,

00:59:13.020 here's the thought

00:59:13.840 you can have on that.

00:59:15.820 And if you're going

00:59:16.640 to talk about it,

00:59:17.340 yeah,

00:59:17.520 go ahead and talk about it,

00:59:18.380 but only just say that.

00:59:19.960 Continue saying that

00:59:21.000 over and over

00:59:21.640 and over again.

00:59:23.380 And this is what makes

00:59:24.020 debate and dialogue

00:59:24.840 on the national level

00:59:25.780 totally impossible,

00:59:26.780 not to mention

00:59:27.240 incredibly boring,

00:59:29.080 when we're all just

00:59:30.160 repeating back to each other

00:59:31.400 the stuff we already know

00:59:32.620 and has long

00:59:33.640 been established.

00:59:35.980 How can we have a dialogue

00:59:37.080 when you aren't allowed

00:59:37.800 to develop your thoughts

00:59:39.040 beyond,

00:59:39.680 this was bad,

00:59:40.280 very bad,

00:59:40.740 it was so bad,

00:59:41.320 it was so, so bad,

00:59:42.140 it was the bad thing,

00:59:43.040 it was a really bad thing,

00:59:43.840 you know,

00:59:45.800 it wasn't always this day,

00:59:46.820 as I meant,

00:59:47.280 this way,

00:59:47.960 as I mentioned,

00:59:48.500 Dinesh D'Souza

00:59:49.180 has been making

00:59:49.960 a similar argument

00:59:50.680 for years.

00:59:51.140 In fact,

00:59:51.880 here he is on NPR,

00:59:53.360 NPR of all places,

00:59:54.480 because this is the kind

00:59:55.140 of thing that you

00:59:55.780 used to be able to say

00:59:56.740 on NPR

00:59:57.740 22 years ago.

01:00:00.900 Listen to what he says.

01:00:02.760 As a native of India,

01:00:04.400 a country colonized

01:00:05.660 by the British

01:00:06.260 for centuries,

01:00:07.480 and as a person of color

01:00:08.900 living in the United States,

01:00:10.780 I cannot agree

01:00:11.860 with the idea

01:00:12.700 of reparations.

01:00:14.380 The concept of reparations

01:00:15.980 is based on the premise

01:00:17.260 that the descendants

01:00:18.560 of slavery and colonialism

01:00:20.200 are worse off

01:00:21.600 as a result

01:00:22.580 of those historical crimes.

01:00:24.880 In reality,

01:00:26.500 these descendants

01:00:27.280 are vastly better off

01:00:28.940 than they would have been

01:00:30.240 had slavery and colonialism

01:00:32.040 never occurred.

01:00:33.780 Let me explain.

01:00:35.400 When I was a young boy

01:00:36.600 growing up in Bombay,

01:00:38.000 I noticed that my grandfather,

01:00:39.600 who had grown up

01:00:40.840 under British colonialism,

01:00:42.520 had developed a strong hostility

01:00:44.420 to the white man.

01:00:46.120 I realized that he had 0.51

01:00:47.460 an anti-white animus

01:00:48.940 that I didn't share.

01:00:50.980 This puzzled me.

01:00:52.380 Why did he and I

01:00:53.580 feel so differently?

01:00:55.480 Finally,

01:00:56.180 I figured it out.

01:00:57.580 The reason for our

01:00:58.680 difference of perception

01:00:59.660 was that colonialism

01:01:01.220 had been pretty bad

01:01:02.680 for him

01:01:03.380 and pretty good

01:01:05.040 for me.

01:01:06.280 Another way to put it

01:01:07.560 is that colonialism

01:01:08.680 had injured those

01:01:09.900 who lived under it,

01:01:11.480 but paradoxically

01:01:12.680 it proved beneficial

01:01:14.080 to their descendants.

01:01:16.540 Virtually everything

01:01:17.540 that I do

01:01:18.240 and cherish

01:01:18.960 has been shaped

01:01:20.160 by a worldview

01:01:21.060 that was brought to India

01:01:22.780 by colonialism.

01:01:24.260 I write in English.

01:01:25.880 I work on a computer.

01:01:27.500 I believe in individual dignity,

01:01:29.200 in human rights,

01:01:30.160 in democratic government,

01:01:31.720 in equality before the law,

01:01:33.480 in the concept of

01:01:34.420 innocent until proven guilty.

01:01:36.020 All these things

01:01:37.680 are the product

01:01:38.560 of Western civilization.

01:01:41.280 Now, again,

01:01:43.320 NPR,

01:01:44.620 you could say that

01:01:45.340 22 years ago.

01:01:46.800 Now, it's the sort of thing

01:01:47.960 that you'll only ever hear

01:01:49.300 uttered on conservative media

01:01:51.060 and even there,

01:01:52.180 most of the time, not.

01:01:53.260 And if you do hear it,

01:01:54.220 it's shocking.

01:01:55.920 It's utterly shocking.

01:01:57.120 Now, leftists, of course,

01:01:58.260 disagreed,

01:01:58.920 I would imagine,

01:01:59.580 many of them did,

01:02:00.800 with that at the time.

01:02:02.340 But there wasn't any

01:02:03.420 nuclear explosion

01:02:04.840 of mindless outrage

01:02:06.360 with a bunch of 1.00

01:02:06.820 slobbering dummies 0.99

01:02:07.980 screaming, 1.00

01:02:08.560 you support slavery!

01:02:09.560 You think slavery is good!

01:02:11.880 People understood the point

01:02:13.180 that he was making

01:02:14.100 because it is,

01:02:15.100 at a minimum,

01:02:15.720 valid and logical

01:02:16.900 and thoughtful.

01:02:18.300 It also happens to be

01:02:19.360 self-evidently true.

01:02:21.940 But these days,

01:02:22.620 thanks to social media,

01:02:23.640 thanks to the increasing

01:02:24.440 derangement of the left,

01:02:25.480 thanks to plummeting

01:02:26.220 IQ scores

01:02:26.880 and all the rest of it,

01:02:28.400 you cannot make

01:02:29.920 valid and logical arguments

01:02:30.960 because a valid

01:02:31.640 and logical argument

01:02:32.300 requires you to develop

01:02:33.220 a thought

01:02:33.900 beyond the one

01:02:35.120 simple, shallow slogan

01:02:36.780 that the left demands

01:02:38.120 we all consign ourselves to.

01:02:40.220 Second,

01:02:41.240 you can somewhat understand

01:02:42.400 the left's confusion here,

01:02:43.420 I suppose.

01:02:43.920 They firmly believe

01:02:44.720 that the ends justify the means.

01:02:46.620 That's one of the core beliefs

01:02:47.840 of their ideology,

01:02:48.720 the ends justify the means.

01:02:49.580 So,

01:02:50.260 when they hear this discussion,

01:02:52.660 they assume

01:02:53.240 that I'm making

01:02:54.340 an ends justify the means argument

01:02:56.300 because if they were

01:02:58.420 making the argument,

01:02:59.000 that's what they would be doing.

01:02:59.860 If I'm saying

01:03:01.760 that people today

01:03:02.360 have benefited

01:03:03.060 from historical atrocities,

01:03:04.280 I must be saying

01:03:05.280 that the atrocities

01:03:05.900 were actually good

01:03:06.820 and justified

01:03:07.480 because that's how they think.

01:03:09.660 But that's not how I think.

01:03:11.560 Okay,

01:03:11.820 I think that there are

01:03:12.720 no results

01:03:13.820 that could ever

01:03:14.600 retroactively justify

01:03:16.180 an evil act.

01:03:17.980 Let me give you an example. 1.00

01:03:19.800 If I were to shoot you 1.00

01:03:21.080 and send you to the hospital 1.00

01:03:22.880 and you don't die

01:03:24.780 and while you're at the hospital,

01:03:26.260 they, you know,

01:03:26.700 because they're doing

01:03:27.100 all these tests and everything,

01:03:27.740 they happen to discover,

01:03:28.600 incidentally,

01:03:29.300 that you have

01:03:29.800 an aggressive form of cancer.

01:03:31.460 And so,

01:03:31.900 they treat the cancer

01:03:32.740 and you survive.

01:03:34.720 My attempted murder

01:03:35.840 does not retroactively

01:03:37.000 become a form

01:03:37.700 of medical treatment.

01:03:39.180 Okay,

01:03:39.620 it does not become good.

01:03:41.240 Now,

01:03:41.880 it's true 0.98

01:03:42.900 that if I hadn't shot you, 0.85

01:03:45.060 you never would have 1.00

01:03:45.720 discovered your cancer,

01:03:46.940 perhaps,

01:03:47.580 and then,

01:03:48.360 or maybe you would

01:03:49.000 discover it too late.

01:03:50.700 So,

01:03:51.520 paradoxically, 0.99

01:03:52.300 me shooting you 0.99

01:03:53.280 resulted in saving your life. 0.96

01:03:54.920 But it was still

01:03:56.960 an act of objective 0.99

01:03:57.920 evil to shoot you. 1.00

01:04:00.520 Okay? 0.99

01:04:01.080 So,

01:04:01.620 that's the way that works.

01:04:03.340 Now,

01:04:04.560 here's the thing.

01:04:06.840 If,

01:04:07.300 expanding the analogy,

01:04:09.560 if,

01:04:10.440 after having your cancer

01:04:11.380 treated,

01:04:12.120 you go on to have children,

01:04:14.080 and then your children

01:04:14.840 have children,

01:04:15.800 and your children's

01:04:16.640 children have children,

01:04:17.460 and many years

01:04:18.800 down the line,

01:04:19.620 your descendants

01:04:20.200 try to sue

01:04:21.200 my descendants

01:04:22.320 for the generational trauma

01:04:24.100 caused by my assault

01:04:25.460 against you.

01:04:26.600 Well,

01:04:27.100 if that were to happen,

01:04:28.760 then,

01:04:29.240 in that case,

01:04:30.380 it would suddenly become

01:04:31.300 relevant to point out

01:04:32.400 that these people

01:04:33.820 claiming damages,

01:04:35.640 decades and decades

01:04:36.560 removed from the incident,

01:04:37.760 probably wouldn't exist.

01:04:39.560 Their entire family tree

01:04:41.320 would be erased

01:04:42.360 if not for the evil act

01:04:44.320 that they are now

01:04:44.880 trying to cash in on.

01:04:46.980 That's the crux of it.

01:04:49.800 Okay?

01:04:50.280 The point that you have

01:04:51.020 most likely benefited

01:04:52.140 from historical evils

01:04:53.240 becomes relevant

01:04:54.100 when you attempt

01:04:55.580 to quantify

01:04:56.480 and monetize

01:04:57.980 the trickle-down harm

01:04:59.760 that you claim

01:05:00.460 the historical evil

01:05:01.300 has done to you.

01:05:03.280 It's at that juncture

01:05:04.820 that someone needs

01:05:05.620 to make the obvious point.

01:05:08.180 This thing that happened

01:05:09.260 long ago

01:05:09.700 was very, very bad.

01:05:10.980 It was very bad

01:05:11.600 for your ancestors.

01:05:13.020 It is not,

01:05:13.640 however,

01:05:13.960 very bad for you.

01:05:15.480 Yet you are the one

01:05:17.120 claiming quantifiable

01:05:18.440 and financial harm.

01:05:21.020 The reparations demands

01:05:22.300 are what makes this point

01:05:23.320 especially relevant,

01:05:24.180 but even without reparations.

01:05:25.980 There's still value

01:05:26.860 in acknowledging

01:05:27.580 what we're talking about here

01:05:29.280 and thinking about it.

01:05:31.120 Yes, it is true

01:05:31.860 that you likely

01:05:32.640 would not be here today

01:05:34.080 if history had not unfolded

01:05:36.100 exactly as it did.

01:05:37.440 Right?

01:05:37.640 The butterfly effect.

01:05:39.020 The good, the bad,

01:05:39.880 the ugly, the atrocious,

01:05:40.760 all of it led to you

01:05:42.640 and to me.

01:05:44.900 Rewrite history

01:05:45.820 and you will have written us

01:05:47.540 out of the book completely.

01:05:50.260 Aside from disqualifying

01:05:51.700 any reparations demand,

01:05:52.900 which I think it does

01:05:53.820 completely,

01:05:55.120 what else does that mean for you?

01:05:56.820 Well, it simply means

01:05:57.960 that we shouldn't live our lives

01:05:59.780 obsessed with wrongs

01:06:00.980 committed long ago,

01:06:02.300 consumed by resentment

01:06:03.360 over ancient sins.

01:06:05.320 It doesn't mean those sins

01:06:06.820 were not sins.

01:06:08.060 Okay?

01:06:08.180 It doesn't mean that the wrongs

01:06:09.440 were actually right.

01:06:11.020 It just means that we should

01:06:12.040 stop trying to make ourselves

01:06:13.380 the victims

01:06:14.060 of the very events

01:06:15.580 that resulted in our existence.

01:06:17.880 Our existence

01:06:18.580 in the most prosperous

01:06:19.540 and comfortable civilization

01:06:20.680 in history,

01:06:21.580 I might add.

01:06:23.560 We should, in a word,

01:06:24.860 move on with our lives.

01:06:26.700 The lives that we are blessed

01:06:28.100 to be living.

01:06:30.140 Because what else

01:06:31.160 is there to do

01:06:31.920 but just keep living

01:06:34.420 in the moment,

01:06:35.880 in today,

01:06:36.680 that's the point.

01:06:39.600 And that's also why

01:06:40.340 the outrage mob

01:06:41.140 is today,

01:06:42.260 once again,

01:06:43.320 canceled.

01:06:44.360 And that'll do it

01:06:44.760 for this portion of the show

01:06:45.400 as we move over to

01:06:45.840 Members Block.

01:06:46.460 Hope to see you there.

01:06:47.100 If not, talk to you

01:06:47.940 on tomorrow.

01:06:49.860 Godspeed.

01:06:50.180 on tomorrow.

01:07:02.860 That'll do it

01:07:16.040 on tomorrow.
