The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1176 - Pride Month Isn't Going How The Left Planned

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, it was a historic weekend at the Daily Wire as our film What Is

00:00:04.140 a Woman racked up a truly mind-boggling number of views. Would this inspire the corporate media 1.00

00:00:08.540 to finally engage honestly with the film and the issues it raises? No, of course not. They just

00:00:13.100 doubled down on the lies. Also, a judge says it's unconstitutional for Tennessee to outlaw

00:00:17.200 drag shows for kids. We'll discuss this absurd ruling. And an argument between a fifth grade

00:00:21.860 teacher and a trans activist on Dr. Phil goes viral. Plus, Biden's next CDC director is on

00:00:26.980 video explaining how they really made decisions during the COVID lockdowns. Her comments are both

00:00:30.940 infuriating and revealing. In our Daily Cancellation, Lizzo is saying she might retire from the music

00:00:35.960 industry because of all the mean comments about her weight. Is this supposed to be a threat or 0.98

00:00:39.620 a promise? We'll talk about all that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.

00:00:50.420 The one-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade being overturned is coming up. And since then,

00:00:54.800 the left has lost their minds, of course. Pro-life efforts, which are more important now than ever,

00:00:59.080 are booming. You heard that right. Despite the narrative, pro-lifers didn't go away. They

00:01:03.220 increased in number. 40 Days for Life is changing hearts and minds in the most blue pro-abortion

00:01:07.340 states. They've had a record number of locations since Roe was overturned. They grew in both volunteers

00:01:11.740 and locations with about 1 million volunteers in 1,500 cities. They hold peaceful vigils outside

00:01:16.920 abortion facilities. This success has come with new unwanted attention from the federal government

00:01:21.080 and the DOJ in regards to free speech. As one of the largest pro-life organizations in the world,

00:01:25.020 no one is in a better position than 40 Days for Life to end abortion in each state in a post-Roe 0.92

00:01:29.600 America. You can help them fight the ongoing legal battles of protecting free speech for their

00:01:33.640 volunteers, including Mark, the 40 Days for Life volunteer who had his house raided by the FBI.

00:01:39.260 Help them defend free speech by giving a tax-deductible gift of any amount

00:01:43.220 at 40daysforlife.com. That's 40daysforlife.com.

00:01:48.000 If you've been looking for a sign that we may be nearing an end to the national fever dream that

00:01:52.840 began sometime in the past decade and that soon will once again live in a country where you can

00:01:57.100 at least talk about basic facts of life without losing your job or getting dogpiled

00:02:01.640 on social media, then what happened last week wasn't just encouraging. It was proof that we're well

00:02:07.100 on our way to that destination. That may be hard to believe, but it's true and there's no denying it.

00:02:12.400 Now, last week for the first time in a very long time, it wasn't the people who understand human

00:02:17.580 biology and the differences between men and women who lost their jobs. It wasn't the people who value

00:02:22.480 freedom of speech who are publicly humiliated. It wasn't the civilized and respectful people who

00:02:28.060 had to lock down their accounts in shame. Instead, for once, all those things happen to the censors and

00:02:33.460 the activists who have for so long foisted their own mental problems on everyone else. The thugs who 0.65

00:02:39.380 can't win an argument without threats and coercion were the ones backed into a corner for a change.

00:02:44.860 The premiere of What is a Woman on Twitter proved to be a disastrous moment for these very petty 1.00

00:02:49.440 and aggressively stupid authoritarians. As we've told you, after the Daily Wire signed a deal with 1.00

00:02:54.160 Twitter to stream the film for free to kick off Pride Month, a faction of dedicated censors within

00:02:59.300 Twitter, many of them holdovers from the pre-Musk era, we can assume, decided to revolt. They went back

00:03:04.380 on the agreement. They told us the film was hate speech because for the very simple reason that it

00:03:08.480 contained speech they hated. And whatever it took, these activists inside Twitter decided the last

00:03:12.980 possible minute that you wouldn't be allowed to see any of it. And you know that whole story by now.

00:03:18.700 Now, I say activists, but these people are more like zealots. The ideology is what matters to them,

00:03:23.920 nothing else. And that's why several of these rogue Twitter employees decided to throw away their jobs

00:03:29.020 in order to shut down What is a Woman. That's how dedicated they are to the cult of gender ideology. 1.00

00:03:34.360 Even after Elon Musk publicly told Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boring that the film would run without

00:03:39.400 any censorship, these activists went ahead and throttled it anyway the moment it went live on

00:03:43.300 Twitter on the night of June 1st. And as you know, no one could like or retweet it. It had a label

00:03:47.800 saying it contained hateful conduct. It looked for a while as if somehow this pro-censorship faction

00:03:54.220 within Twitter had staged some kind of coup. They had defied Twitter's owner. And incredibly,

00:04:00.240 at first, it seemed they had gotten what they wanted. But then Elon Musk stepped in, heads rolled,

00:04:05.720 various firings and resignations were reported, and the film was freed from the censorship shackles.

00:04:12.160 But once the rest of America, the sane ones anyway, had the opportunity to see the film without any

00:04:18.500 intervention from a small number of gender studies majors in Silicon Valley, it became obvious why the 0.99

00:04:24.160 censors were so desperate to shut us down to begin with. They were right in a certain way. Not right

00:04:29.800 to do what they did. Not right about the things they believe, but right to be afraid of the film

00:04:34.680 and the effect it would have on their agenda. Because what happened next was truly historic.

00:04:40.640 It turns out a lot of people wanted to watch the film. In fact, more people wanted to watch

00:04:45.540 What is a Woman than any other documentary in the last several years. When we tweeted out the film,

00:04:50.380 it got more than 170 million views. Now, for perspective, more people watched What is a Woman 1.00

00:04:57.880 than saw Anderson Cooper all week on CNN or watched the Oscars or Joe Biden's State of the Union address

00:05:04.540 in 2023 combined. The film trended worldwide all weekend with hundreds of thousands of people talking

00:05:10.320 about it at all hours. For the second Pride Month in a row, this is our second one in a row,

00:05:15.440 What is a Woman was the number one documentary on Rotten Tomatoes. And in fact, right now is the

00:05:20.740 number one streaming film on the entire site. So just to restate, this is a documentary that came

00:05:25.800 out a year ago and it instantly went to number one. Again, whatever you think of the film, based on the

00:05:32.620 data, there's no question it's one of the most watched documentaries of the past decade. It's also

00:05:37.220 one of the most impactful because it's led directly to laws that have been passed all over the country,

00:05:40.860 outlawing child mutilation, other crimes against humanity. In fact, it's clear that now we can say

00:05:47.400 What is a Woman is one of the most widely viewed and influential documentaries, not just of the past

00:05:51.700 several years or of the decade, but of all time. And I'm biased in that assessment, of course, but

00:05:56.600 all of the available metrics back it up. What an unmitigated disaster for the forces of censorship

00:06:03.220 and of evil. The news organizations and big tech oligarchs who for years could have censored this

00:06:10.360 film, you know, and would have censored it in this case as well, were instead forced to watch on the

00:06:15.980 sidelines as all this unfolded, watching helplessly. Millions of Americans could see the extent to which

00:06:22.340 they're being lied to. The experts in medicine and academia that the media throws in our faces who

00:06:28.020 tell us that gender ideology is settled science actually have no idea what they're talking about. 1.00

00:06:32.920 They're clowns and liars and frauds. Small children could make better arguments than they do. 1.00

00:06:38.960 And they've all been exposed as liars and not about some trivial topic either.

00:06:43.400 They've been covering for an ideology that condones the forcible castration and mutilation of children. 0.78

00:06:48.880 And there's no hiding that now. But of course, they're going to try to hide it anyway.

00:06:53.320 Despite its popularity, right now the film still has not been reviewed by a single corporate media outlet.

00:06:58.460 Instead, they spent the weekend and the past week lying about it. Here's how CNN

00:07:02.660 covered everything that's happened. Listen to this.

00:07:07.420 Meantime, Twitter's head of trust and safety telling Reuters that she has resigned from the

00:07:12.760 social media company. Ella Irwin, who was in charge of content moderation,

00:07:17.160 stepped down the same day that Twitter blocked and then unblocked access to an anti-trans documentary.

00:07:23.700 Billionaire Elon Musk has faced criticism for lax protections against potentially harmful content

00:07:29.020 since he took over back in October.

00:07:32.140 Now, notice a couple of things about that clip. The first is that like Voldemort,

00:07:35.800 you can't actually say the name of the movie. I think that's correct. I don't usually use Harry

00:07:41.080 Potter references. But anyway, so instead of what is a woman, it's an anti-trans documentary

00:07:45.920 that shall not be named under any circumstance. Merely saying the words what is a woman is violence. 0.99

00:07:51.700 And what's amusing about calling the film an anti-trans documentary is that, again, 0.54

00:07:55.600 the whole documentary is about giving trans activists the floor, letting them speak. We

00:07:59.480 didn't interrupt them or edit anything out of context. So if what is a woman is an anti-trans

00:08:03.100 documentary, as CNN says, all that means is that gender ideology is so incoherent and so corrupt

00:08:09.040 that anyone who spends any time listening to pro-trans activists will inevitably come away with

00:08:14.920 anti-trans sentiments. That seems to be what CNN is saying. Now, CNN doesn't realize they're saying

00:08:20.540 that, of course, because none of them have watched the film or know what they're talking

00:08:24.160 about. But that's the big takeaway from that segment. Spend 10 minutes with a doctor who

00:08:29.220 performs gender-affirming surgeries, quote unquote gender-affirming surgeries, or a college

00:08:34.060 professor who lectures on gender, and you'll come away anti-trans, apparently. That's what CNN

00:08:40.380 is saying. And that might not be a bad assessment from CNN, actually. The other thing to notice about

00:08:44.840 that clip is the implication that the film contains potentially harmful content. Now, nowhere in that

00:08:50.400 segment did CNN explain what's potentially harmful about letting trans activists box themselves into

00:08:56.180 a corner and then run away screaming when asked a simple question. Maybe what CNN means is that the

00:09:02.040 content of the film is harmful to gender ideology, which it certainly is. If that's the case, then again, 0.98

00:09:09.980 we thank CNN for the endorsement. Now, to be clear, I'm not just picking on CNN here. That would be a waste

00:09:15.600 of time because, as Elon Musk pointed out in response to that segment, nobody watches them

00:09:19.360 anyway. So you should know that the rest of the media did the same thing. They attacked the film

00:09:24.000 without even mentioning the title of it or what it's about. NBC News, for example, ran this headline,

00:09:29.980 quote, Musk's response to an anti-trans video sparks 24 hours of chaos at Twitter. A conservative

00:09:36.340 pressure movement built against Twitter's CEO resulted in high-level departures from the company.

00:09:41.460 Now, you couldn't write a less factually accurate summary of what happened over the past week if

00:09:46.840 you tried. They can't even bring themselves to call it a film. Instead, one of the most widely

00:09:52.080 viewed documentaries ever is just a video, an anti-trans video. What's remarkable about this is that

00:10:00.000 millions of people are seeing the fake narrative machine spin up in real time. What happened on

00:10:05.520 Twitter with What is a Woman was not a secret. Everyone could see it happen. And yet the media is lying

00:10:10.440 about it as if this is Russiagate all over again. They're acting like they have some kind of insider

00:10:15.500 knowledge and they can fool people, but they can't. Again, they're panicking. And more importantly,

00:10:21.280 it's obvious. This is how these people start to lose power because they lose their grip,

00:10:26.820 their influence, the monopoly they have over people's minds. The closest the NBC News article

00:10:33.620 comes to engaging with the content of the film is to say that it misgenders trans people. Quoting

00:10:37.700 for NBC, it says, quote, misgendering trans people had been restricted on the platform since 2018,

00:10:42.460 but under Musk, the company quietly repealed that rule. Misgendering trans people using pronouns other

00:10:47.400 than what someone prefers is a common way to bully trans people. What NBC doesn't mention is that the

00:10:53.240 alleged misgendering they're talking about, again, is a father saying that his 14-year-old girl is his

00:10:58.220 daughter. They're saying that this father was bullying his own 14-year-old daughter, bullying her because

00:11:05.680 he objected when doctors injected her with cross-sex hormones that sterilized her.

00:11:11.040 And then when the Canadian government arrested this father and fined him $30,000, and when the

00:11:15.740 Canadian media destroyed his life, according to NBC, he wasn't being bullied. Instead, his daughter

00:11:21.500 was being bullied. That's what they're saying. Now, they can't write that explicitly because it's just

00:11:25.960 so awful and insane. So they lie about it. Now, the one redeeming quality of the NBC article is that it

00:11:31.920 contains this line, which belongs in some kind of museum or something. Quote,

00:11:36.040 Musk's views on trans rights put him out of sync with many other Silicon Valley billionaires.

00:11:42.720 This is how shameless corporate media propaganda is now. They come right out and condemn you

00:11:47.520 if you disagree with many other Silicon Valley billionaires, as if that's obviously a bad thing

00:11:53.500 to do. Now, I'm old enough to remember when the left used to pretend to be critics of the evil

00:11:59.340 billionaire class. Now, they use that group as a moral measuring stick for the rest of us.

00:12:05.120 It used to be billionaires are evil. Now, it's agree with all the billionaires or you're evil.

00:12:11.540 Everywhere you look this weekend, there was an article like this, clearly written by someone who

00:12:14.900 hadn't seen the film but was told to write about it. Take Business Insider, for example. Unlike NBC

00:12:20.540 or CNN, Business Insider actually did use the name of the film, so at least there's that. But they

00:12:25.580 obviously haven't seen it either. They wrote that the film, quote, urges intolerance of trans people.

00:12:31.340 Of course, they don't provide a single quote in which anyone in the documentary urges intolerance

00:12:35.640 of trans people. That's because it didn't happen. Now everyone knows that because everyone could 0.98

00:12:40.600 see it for themselves. The New Republic ran a similarly embarrassing piece, except to try and

00:12:45.360 differentiate themselves a bit. They opted to attack Elon Musk personally. They reported that he was,

00:12:50.220 quote, disowned by his trans daughter. And the article went on to lament that Musk had decided to,

00:12:55.120 quote, punch down against transgender people. Is anyone convinced by this anymore? I mean, 0.97

00:13:01.600 it's hard to believe at this point. The activists who are urging intolerance are on the other side.

00:13:06.340 They're doing it right out in the open. They aren't dog whistling or whatever. They're coming out and

00:13:11.380 saying it. And for them, when they call for intolerance against their enemies, they don't mean just like

00:13:17.480 say mean things about them. They mean kill them. For the latest example, as journalist Chris Brunet reported 0.99

00:13:23.800 on his substack this weekend, a Brown University PhD student calling himself Sarah Celeste Griffith

00:13:29.640 has for apparently many months been publicly urging people to come to my home and kill me.

00:13:37.020 Why? Well, presumably because Sarah Celeste Griffith is a man who claims to be a woman and he is so 0.95

00:13:42.540 desperate to maintain this delusion that he wants anyone who tells the truth to be killed.

00:13:46.680 Now, I've been saying this for a long time because it's true. Trans activists would happily murder 1.00

00:13:52.520 you and your whole family for the sake of feeling more affirmed. Or at a minimum, they'll happily 0.99

00:13:58.300 encourage someone else to go do it. Brown University is aware that this person has been threatening me,

00:14:04.860 but they haven't done anything about it, as we expect. And by the way, if you'd like to reach out to

00:14:12.160 the president of the university to ask why they're allowing this kind of behavior, why one of their

00:14:16.560 PhD students is publicly calling for the execution of someone they disagree with on social media,

00:14:22.940 and you want to know why they would allow this at Brown University, well, you can contact the

00:14:26.020 president of the university, Christina Paxson, at 401-863-2234, or you can email president at

00:14:33.620 brown.edu. If you want to give your feedback, then that's the way that you do it. I'm sure that she,

00:14:39.240 I mean, as always, I'm sure she'd be very happy to hear it. Now, when you contact, you might want

00:14:45.680 to ask her why they're protecting Sarah Celeste Griffith and ignoring these terroristic threats.

00:14:50.740 Though, I mean, we already know the answer. They're doing it for the same reason Joe Biden

00:14:54.420 and Kamala Harris ignore every instance of trans terrorism, including the murder of children.

00:14:59.200 They're ignoring us for the same reason there are pride flags all over Rockefeller Center right now.

00:15:03.760 The reason they think they can ignore us is that criticizing the cult of gender ideology

00:15:09.820 is not, in fact, punching down, and they know that. It is standing up to the most powerful forces in

00:15:17.300 our country, which insist that you lie about the most fundamental facts of life. They want you to

00:15:23.320 believe men can get pregnant, and if you disagree, they try to crush you. They think they have all the 1.00

00:15:29.560 power, but they don't have all of it. I mean, they have a lot of it, but they don't have all of it,

00:15:35.520 not anymore. So they have to resort to propaganda that's getting increasingly desperate.

00:15:40.140 Here's another example. The Huffington Post cut right to the chase in their article about what

00:15:43.260 is a woman and the Twitter controversy, and their headline was, Elon Musk is a transphobe.

00:15:50.080 What's their evidence for that? Here it is, quote, gender-affirming health care takes place in a

00:15:53.640 professional environment. That's what they say. And therefore, according to the Huffington Post,

00:15:58.080 don't you dare ask questions about hospitals that castrate children. It's happening in a nice 1.00

00:16:02.700 and professional environment. And if you do ask questions about it, you're afraid of trans people.

00:16:08.900 The reality is that these media outlets, for once, are the ones who are afraid. They're flailing around

00:16:14.580 trying to attack a film they clearly haven't seen and certainly don't want you to see. And they're

00:16:19.520 doing that because they know they're losing ground. The revolt against trans ideology is gaining steam

00:16:26.000 more and more each day. Texas just became the largest state to criminalize child mutilation or

00:16:31.140 gender-affirming care, as the media puts it. That happened just last week. 18 other states have

00:16:36.920 signed similar legislation, many of them in just the past year. Meanwhile, corporations are starting

00:16:42.360 to run scared from Pride Month. There are a bunch that didn't even switch their Twitter logos over to

00:16:47.760 the little rainbow colors this year, like they have in years past. As Newsweek just reported,

00:16:52.740 the North Face, Lego, and Miller Lite carried supportive messages on June 1st, 2022, but did

00:16:59.360 not do so this year. Other brands such as Target, Bud Light, and Adidas have yet to post despite doing

00:17:05.000 so later in June last year. The account for Xbox briefly had a Pride logo that they put up on their

00:17:11.200 Twitter account before getting rid of it a few days into Pride Month. The Navy did the same thing.

00:17:15.420 They made their background image on Twitter and Instagram, a fighter jet streaking across the sky

00:17:20.080 with pride colors in its wake. Then they got dogpiled because the job of the military is to

00:17:24.260 defend us from foreign enemies, not to promote fetishes and the sexual mutilation of children.

00:17:29.640 And the people, you know, people are comfortable saying that out loud now. So very quickly,

00:17:34.740 the Navy changed their background image back. Now, these might seem like small victories,

00:17:40.760 but they are manifestations of a larger and more significant trend. The media knows this,

00:17:46.460 the left knows this, which is why they're panicking. A lot of people thought that the left

00:17:52.100 had won the cultural argument when it comes to trans and LGBT stuff. That was the assumption many

00:17:59.460 people made, that this is lost, they won, there's no one doing it. But the victory was an illusion,

00:18:07.200 like a mirage in the desert. When you get closer and you get a closer look, you see it for the fraud

00:18:13.000 that it is. They win, quote unquote, by preventing people from looking at these issues honestly or

00:18:20.260 thinking about them clearly or talking about them at all. This is also one of the reasons why Libs of 0.56

00:18:27.020 TikTok became one of their most hated enemies. She just gave people an honest look at their agenda, 1.00

00:18:32.640 which is what they fear most. Once people start to see this for what it is and they feel empowered

00:18:40.300 to talk about it, things start to change rapidly. And right now they are. Now let's get to our five

00:18:49.440 headlines.

00:18:55.300 You know, it takes a special kind of company to want to partner with my show. I say a lot of things

00:18:58.980 that make a lot of people angry, and this tends to scare off advertisers. That's why I'm so grateful

00:19:03.160 to partners like Pure Talk, who stand behind me and my show, no matter the consequences they might face.

00:19:07.920 Pure Talk shares my values, which is why we've made them the official cell phone wireless partner

00:19:12.520 of The Daily Wire. But that's not the only reason. Pure Talk offers the most dependable 5G network in

00:19:17.480 the U.S. I use it myself. Their plans are top tier, but at a fraction of the cost of AT&T, Verizon,

00:19:22.540 or T-Mobile. You get unlimited talk, text, and unlimited data with a mobile hotspot for just $55

00:19:28.240 a month. You vote with how you spend your money. So stop supporting woke wireless companies that don't 0.65

00:19:46.460 Americans by Americans. You know, by the way, I said that the left avoids the film, won't answer

00:19:51.480 the question, but obviously that's not always the case. Sometimes they do try to answer the question,

00:19:55.620 and then that's when things get very funny, as it does in the film. But here's Nina Turner,

00:19:59.240 who's some kind of leftist activist, and she tweeted on Saturday in response to the what is a woman

00:20:03.760 question. She said, if someone says they're a woman, they're a woman. Not a tough concept. 0.99

00:20:09.740 Now, you're right, Nina. It's not a tough concept because it's not a concept at all. It's just

00:20:14.180 babble. It's gibberish. And first of all, if someone says they're a woman, they're a woman is 0.99

00:20:18.640 not a definition of the term. It's an assertion related to the term. An incoherent assertion,

00:20:24.040 but that's not even the point. I mean, leaving aside the incoherence of it for a second,

00:20:27.620 the point is that it's not a definition. It doesn't tell us anything about the word you're

00:20:32.560 supposed to be defining. If an alien landed from outer space and went up to you and asked what is

00:20:36.780 a woman, and you said, if someone says they're a woman, they're a woman, that alien would be just 1.00

00:20:42.580 as confused after hearing your answer as he was before he asked it. More confused, actually.

00:20:49.760 You haven't told him anything about the word, and now he's going to incinerate planet Earth because

00:20:54.840 of it, which is probably for the best. Also, of course, if someone is a woman because they say 0.99

00:21:02.640 they are, then that means that anyone is anything because they say they are. And it also means that

00:21:07.900 someone is black because they say they are. At a minimum, it means that. 0.99

00:21:14.500 If we are restricting that kind of statement, well, if someone says this, then it's true.

00:21:20.020 If that's true, then what you're saying is that anything someone says is true because

00:21:24.740 they said it, which leads to all kinds of absurdity. But if you wanted to arbitrarily

00:21:29.720 limit that principle to personal identity only, it still dissolves into total insanity instantly,

00:21:39.540 which, of course, is obvious to everyone. And I think it's obvious to the people that make these

00:21:44.420 claims, too. All right. Good stuff. A lot of victories. But it hasn't all been good. And there

00:21:51.460 have been some setbacks. And here's one. Daily Wire reports a federal judge has ruled Friday that

00:21:56.120 a Tennessee law intended to shield children from sexually explicit performances is unconstitutional.

00:22:01.180 U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker said a law that blocked children from being exposed to adult cabaret

00:22:06.020 performances, including sexually explicit drag shows, was unconstitutionally vague and substantially

00:22:11.700 overbroad. Quote, there's no question that obscenity is not protected by the First Amendment,

00:22:16.700 but there is a difference between material that is obscene in the vernacular and material that is

00:22:21.260 obscene under the law, Parker wrote. Simply put, no majority of the Supreme Court has held that

00:22:25.740 sexually explicit but not obscene speech receives less protection than political, artistic, or scientific

00:22:31.240 speech. Parker, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, said that the law would

00:22:36.400 also allow discriminatory enforcement. Parker said, quote, whether some of us may like it or not,

00:22:42.580 the Supreme Court has interpreted the First Amendment as protecting speech that is indecent but not

00:22:46.320 obscene. According to a summary of the law, which was signed by Governor Bill Lee, it, quote,

00:22:52.600 creates an offense for a person who engages in an adult cabaret performance on public property or in

00:22:56.560 a location where the adult cabaret performance could be viewed by a person who is not an adult.

00:23:01.720 The definition of adult cabaret performance in a law includes male or female impersonators.

00:23:05.980 And of course, the people responsible for the law, Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson,

00:23:11.940 said he's disappointed in the ruling. He hopes that Tennessee Attorney General would appeal the

00:23:15.440 decision and the Attorney General better appeal it. This is a ridiculous ruling. It's absolutely 0.94

00:23:22.080 absurd. And this needs to go all the way to the Supreme Court. You know, first, it's like we're once

00:23:28.740 again acting like we don't understand what the word obscene means or like there's some sort of

00:23:35.600 ambiguity here. There really isn't. And in this case, you know, it's pretty specific.

00:23:46.040 It bans sexually explicit performances in front of children. It mentions adult cabaret performances.

00:23:53.900 Like that's, that's pretty specific. Okay. And it's intended to outlaw a certain kind of performance

00:24:04.620 in front of kids. And in 99.9% of cases, we all know exactly what that is. So we always get hung up

00:24:14.060 in the gray area. Well, if this law is put into effect, then what about all these other unrelated

00:24:19.360 things that might get caught up in it? There's not much of that. The gray area here is very,

00:24:27.060 very small. There's always going to be a gray area in any law. Okay. There are always going to

00:24:33.160 be cases where, uh, where the enforcement is, is a bit ambiguous. That happens with any law at all.

00:24:41.420 But with this one, um, that's extremely limited.

00:24:44.580 And anything else that gets caught up in it, it's probably for the best anyway.

00:24:52.560 Like if, if we're looking at a certain type of performance and we're asking ourselves,

00:24:57.880 is this too sexually explicit for children? You know, would this also be barred under this law?

00:25:05.160 Well, if we have to ask that question to begin with, then probably, yeah, we should, it should be

00:25:10.020 included. Second, this is not a law restricting speech. It doesn't say that you can't engage in

00:25:18.880 these kinds of performances. That's not the law. It just says you can't do it in front of kids.

00:25:26.900 And so this judge says, well, there's a distinction between sexually explicit and obscene,

00:25:31.400 which I think is an absurd distinction to begin with and incoherent.

00:25:35.660 But when we're talking about speech that can be simply banned outright, like maybe that distinction

00:25:45.020 is relevant, but here we're talking about speech that can be, uh, that, that, that can be performed

00:25:51.160 because really these are performances. We're talking about performances in front of kids

00:25:57.120 and everyone agrees in principle anyway, that sexually explicit performances shouldn't be in

00:26:05.720 front of kids, shouldn't be done in front of kids. Or everyone did agree with that until about 15

00:26:09.860 seconds ago. Does it, does it have to, it doesn't have to qualify as obscene and sexually explicit?

00:26:17.420 Why would it? Again, we're not talking about banning this outright,

00:26:22.620 which personally wouldn't bother me if they did, but that's not what the law says.

00:26:29.920 The law is saying, okay, you want to, you want to do that. You want to have your adult cabaret

00:26:33.700 performance. You can do that. You just, it can't be in front of kids is all go do it somewhere where

00:26:38.700 kids can't see it. Is that so difficult? Is that so hard? No, it's the activists it's and, and, and the,

00:26:45.700 the actual, uh, you know, the people who support these performances who are saying, well,

00:26:50.600 we can't do it in front of kids. There's no point. You know, if you tell us we can't do it in front

00:26:54.600 of kids, you're basically banning us because we don't even want to do it at all. If we can't do

00:26:59.260 it in front of kids, the whole point is to be in front of kids. That's apparently what they're

00:27:03.460 saying, which is all the more reason why, uh, why this law is, is necessary.

00:27:12.100 All right. Vivek Ramaswamy was, uh, asked at a town hall over the weekend, whether he would

00:27:18.480 reinstate the ban on trans people in the military. Here's what he said.

00:27:24.100 Would you reinstate the ban on transgender members of the military?

00:27:28.100 I would not reinstate a ban on transgender members. I would, however, be very clear that for kids,

00:27:35.200 that's where my policies are very focused. We should not be foisting this ideology onto children.

00:27:40.340 But you would not ban transgender members of the military. I would not.

00:27:45.460 Yeah. I like Vivek. I think he's a, I think he's a powerful speaker. I think he's right about a lot of

00:27:49.600 things. Um, but not, but not this, he's not right about this. He's wrong about this. Uh, and he's also

00:27:55.920 wrong that our sole focus policy wise should just be kids. Yeah. That should be the first focus.

00:28:05.040 That's the way I would put it. It's the first focus when it comes to gender ideology and the trans

00:28:09.480 industry. Our first focus is protecting the kids. Let's get that done. But once that's done, it's not

00:28:15.480 over. Um, and it shouldn't be over. And he's wrong about this because, uh, you know, why would we ban

00:28:23.340 trans people from the military? Well, because, you know, in theory in the military, at least again, 0.98

00:28:29.720 the way that it used to be is that, um, you want the people who are in the best mental and physical

00:28:35.400 shape. Okay. You, you, you, you want mental and physical fitness for the military because this is

00:28:42.400 a very, uh, physically and mentally taxing job to say the least. Um, and if you're sending people

00:28:51.840 into the military who already have deep psychological problems who are in fact confused about the basic

00:28:59.900 realities of the world and about themselves, that's a bad combination. So it's, it's obvious.

00:29:07.200 It's just another way of saying if someone is openly mentally ill, um, they shouldn't be in the

00:29:12.540 military. Obviously. Here's another clip related to the, uh, the trans issue. This is a debate on

00:29:20.400 the Dr. Phil show that's been going viral over the last few days. And, uh, I just want you to watch

00:29:25.040 this. Check it out. Transgender boys who might not have their own money to go buy tampons. If 1.00

00:29:30.740 they're provided free in the bathroom, it's, it's a huge plus. Men do not menstruate. Only women 1.00

00:29:37.380 menstruate. Now you can call yourself whatever you want. Cis men don't menstruate, but trans men do 1.00

00:29:42.420 menstruate. No, they don't. Non-binary people. Only women. Menstruating is not exclusive to cis women. Yes, it is. 0.99

00:29:47.340 So explain to me as to why my body menstruated at some point. If your chromosomes are XX and you're 0.99

00:29:54.040 young, you menstruate. If you're XY, you don't. Correct. But what about trans men and non-binary people? 0.99

00:29:58.880 They're not men. We're excluding a whole group of people. They're women dressed as men. You are not 0.95

00:30:03.100 a man. People pretend to be a man and that's okay. That's perfectly fine. Live your life. Tell me what 0.81

00:30:09.380 a man is. Well, what's a man to you? You define a man for me. You have chromosomes that are X and Y.

00:30:14.540 Right. That's what a man is. So why are we just looking at the, the, the, the science of this as

00:30:19.320 an example. The science. When, when we've learned sex and gender identity are two very, they're

00:30:24.820 completely different things. They're not completely different things. They are completely different.

00:30:28.000 Completely different words. And sex is what you're born with. The sexual reproductive organs 0.70

00:30:33.180 you have. Gender is what you identify with. They're completely different things. Well, I don't 1.00

00:30:36.380 accept that distinction. You have to argue for it. You're just giving a conclusion. You're, you're

00:30:40.820 just making it up. People, the people who hate the truth, people who hate the truth are because

00:30:47.420 they see, they see the truth as hateful. If, if you want to identify in any way you can,

00:30:52.240 you're free to do so. But that does not mean that the rest of us have to join that illusion.

00:30:59.740 You disagree. I disagree with you. And so you call it hate, but there's no hate in my heart

00:31:05.260 at all. So that's, you are being hateful when you tell somebody that identifies as a man,

00:31:09.560 that they're not a man. That's a fact. Well done by that guy. What was that guy's name?

00:31:16.900 I think it coming up on the screen. I missed it. Uh, but brilliant, brilliant, brilliantly done.

00:31:21.200 And especially pay attention to, uh, I mean the whole, the whole thing, he argued the case quite

00:31:26.700 well. Uh, and, and I know, you know, you watch that and you think, well, it's easy to argue the

00:31:31.780 case because it's so, it's just basic common sense. And you're talking to crazy people, uh, who have,

00:31:37.820 uh, I mean, and, and the argument that they're defending on the other side, there's nothing about

00:31:43.360 it that's remotely defensible. So it should be easy to win these arguments. And you would think that,

00:31:48.040 but, um, the fact that it's so basic, I think trips people up sometimes when they're trying to

00:31:55.200 defend it because it's such a basic concept and you've got, and on the other side, you're dealing

00:31:59.800 with people who have no concern for the truth at all. And they'll switch, they will switch lanes

00:32:06.120 so quick in the middle of an argument that doesn't work. We'll go over here, then back to here,

00:32:10.920 the back to it. And you're, and you're constantly, it's like whack-a-mole. You're just following them

00:32:14.000 around. And, uh, what they try to confuse you and overwhelm you with so many, all their arguments are

00:32:19.000 bad, but they throw so many at you and they're not beholden. So for you, you're, you, you have a

00:32:25.080 certain position that's rooted in objective truth that you're defending, but they're not,

00:32:29.600 they're not really defending any one particular position. They're defending like nothing. It's

00:32:33.740 all in the ether floating. And so they can, they'll, they twist and turn and spin all around,

00:32:40.140 um, and try to confuse you and change the subject. And that's where people on the true side can get

00:32:47.500 tripped up, which is why you got to really pay attention to what he did when they, when they,

00:32:51.360 when they said, uh, well, sex and gender are two different things. He said, I don't accept that

00:32:57.020 distinction. You, you have to, you have to argue for that distinction. I'm not just going to accept

00:33:00.720 it. Yeah. You say there's two different things. You say that. I don't accept that.

00:33:08.880 Uh, the mistake that a lot of people would make in that same situation is by having that argument,

00:33:15.180 right? By, by getting into the fine distinctions between sex and gender. Instead,

00:33:19.940 he said, no, no, you, you, you have to defend that. I'm not going to, that's irrelevant.

00:33:23.780 It's got nothing to do with this. Okay. That's just some, that's some nonsense you made up.

00:33:29.980 I don't accept it. And they did that because remember I said, they'll switch lanes on a dime.

00:33:36.060 So I thought it was fantastic because she says, um, she says she throws the, what is a woman 0.99

00:33:42.660 question back at him thinking that it'll trip him up because it trips her up. She says, it's a man.

00:33:48.300 In this case, she's talking about what is a man. So what do you, what do you say a man is?

00:33:53.240 He says, well, X, Y chromosomes, what a man is. Well, why does the science matter?

00:34:00.580 She, she went right from, well, you can't define this term anyway. Well, yes, I can. Here you go.

00:34:05.460 Well, the science doesn't even matter then. What does the science matter? And then tries to,

00:34:10.420 uh, kind of lose him in the weeds with the sex and gender thing. And he steers it back and says,

00:34:15.440 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We're not doing that. That's exactly how these things should be

00:34:21.080 handled. But it is interesting to hear, um, the advocates of gender ideology say, well,

00:34:26.440 it's not about science. Well, the science doesn't matter because in so many other contexts, they're,

00:34:32.200 they're, they're constantly telling us to trust the science, follow the science. The science is all

00:34:36.120 that matters. Of course, that's exactly what they did with COVID. Um, and speaking of which

00:34:42.060 president Biden is expected to pick a new CDC director, Mandy Cohen is her name. And she was

00:34:49.440 the health director, um, in North Carolina during the, uh, during COVID and during all the lockdowns

00:34:54.980 and everything. Here's a clip of her. That's getting a lot of attention where she talks about

00:34:59.020 how she handled COVID. And they, they said, follow the science, trust the science. What did that

00:35:04.860 actually mean? Okay. When she was, uh, in charge of the COVID response in North Carolina, and she was

00:35:11.160 following the science, what did following the science really mean? Well, she explains what it

00:35:16.780 really meant in this interview. Listen, I would call probably the person I called most was the

00:35:22.400 secretary of health and human services in Massachusetts. She worked for a Republican

00:35:26.040 governor just to, um, but you know, when, when she was like, are you, are you going to let them have

00:35:31.080 professional, um, uh, football? And I was like, nope. And she's like, okay, neither are we,

00:35:36.080 neither are we. Uh, um, so, uh, you know, it was like conversations like that. So, or, or I'd be

00:35:43.880 like, so when are you going to think about lightening up a mess or like, so you're like next

00:35:48.160 Monday. I'm like, okay, next Monday. Wow. I mean, that is, that's a tremendous clip. There really

00:35:55.420 is. Uh, we're not gonna say it's surprising. We're not surprised to learn that it worked that

00:35:59.580 way, but still very revealing for two reasons. First, the flippancy of it, you know, uh, this,

00:36:06.940 this casual petty, uh, authoritarianism, you know, someone on Twitter said, this is the banality of

00:36:14.920 evil personified, right? And it really is because she's talking about things that destroyed people's

00:36:20.440 lives and livelihoods. And there were suicides and people were, you know, lost everything and

00:36:25.740 they're locked in their homes and they're, you know, plunging into despair and depression,

00:36:29.820 uh, and, and people's parents, grandparents dying alone in nursing homes, not allowed to be around

00:36:36.320 their families and in their final moments. And she's laughing about it and talks about having

00:36:42.400 conversations. We said, are you going to let them have football? Are you going to let them have

00:36:46.720 football? Let them, who's them, just the people in your state, all of them. Are you going to let them?

00:36:54.240 And meanwhile, these are bureaucrats. You're the health director. How the hell can you determine,

00:37:01.360 why is it up to you to determine what people are allowed to have?

00:37:06.460 But this was the power that was granted to them. That was the whole point. All the lockdowns,

00:37:13.360 the entire COVID response, as we know, it was all structured. It, it, it all had the intention

00:37:19.940 of transfer. It was a great power transfer from the people to the elites, to the government,

00:37:26.440 to the bureaucracies, to the bureaucrats, to people like this scumbag, which is really what she is. 1.00

00:37:31.500 It's a really evil person. Uh, but then also she admits that she made these determinations 0.99

00:37:39.480 based on what other bureaucrats were doing. It's like arbitrary.

00:37:46.200 So are you going to let them do this again? Uh, yeah. Starting next Monday. Okay. I'll do the same.

00:37:51.960 It was like this, it was, it was a unofficial majority vote. It was an unofficial casual majority

00:37:58.740 vote among, uh, bureaucrats. And they were all just covering their asses. And so they figured, 0.99

00:38:06.720 well, if you're doing this and you are putting these lockdowns and restrictions in place,

00:38:11.460 then I can do the same thing and I'm covered. Oh, but if you're getting rid of them,

00:38:14.820 then I also am going to get rid of them because I don't want to get in trouble.

00:38:19.200 And so they're all chasing each other's tails around in a circle while lives are being destroyed.

00:38:25.720 Again, not, not a surprise, not news that that's how the COVID lockdowns work, but, uh,

00:38:30.520 it is interesting to hear them admitted anyway. And now she's going to be in charge of the CDC.

00:38:33.940 One other clip I wanted to play Tim Scott, uh, who just announced his presidential campaign

00:38:40.580 a few days ago is expected to appear on the view on Monday, uh, today actually. And here's what he

00:38:47.100 said about that upcoming appearance. Listen, my socks said hogwash on them. When I think about hogwash,

00:38:56.220 it just makes me think about the view. Anybody watch the view on TV? Good, good. I am in

00:39:03.920 the right place. I'm going on the view on Monday because I think it's time for a conservative

00:39:13.520 with a backbone to look those ladies in the eyes and say, you do not have to be an exception 0.76

00:39:20.100 to succeed in America. You can be the rule and succeed in America.

00:39:25.060 You see, I scare the Dickens out of the radical left and Joe Biden.

00:39:38.840 So, uh, nothing against Tim Scott, as I've said before, I have nothing personally against

00:39:46.220 him. Seems like a nice guy. Uh, I think his presidential campaign is ridiculous. He has

00:39:50.780 no chance of winning. Um, and he's not the kind of Republican that we, if this was the

00:39:55.500 year 2004 or 1992 or something, uh, he'd be a very formidable candidate and right in step

00:40:01.480 with where the Republican party and the conservative movement generally was back, uh, back, you know,

00:40:06.380 uh, back then, uh, but that's not the case anymore. So there's no room for him. There's no need for

00:40:11.660 him. And it's an absurd campaign in a lot of ways. However, I think he's on the view right now. I'm

00:40:17.840 sure he'll do well enough. Maybe we'll play some of the clips tomorrow, but I do want to point out

00:40:22.580 that what he said there is absolutely not true. I scare the Dickens out of the radical left and

00:40:29.020 Joe Biden. No, you don't, you don't, you don't, you don't scare anybody and you don't scare the

00:40:33.900 left. They're, they're not afraid of you. Um, because you, you represent like the safest form

00:40:40.440 of conservatism. Now, yeah, I mean, they'd prefer if you didn't exist just like the rest of us.

00:40:47.280 Um, so they, it's not that they like you, but you are the safest version of this.

00:40:56.820 And we know that based on the fact that you're going on the view. So they're not afraid of you.

00:41:02.540 If they're going to put you on the view, if you're allowed to go on the view, it means they're not

00:41:07.080 afraid of you. I mean, still, if you get invited, I would love to go on the view. I've already said

00:41:12.540 that. Uh, and what, what, when, what does the woman first came out? We, we did pitch them. We said, 0.98

00:41:17.220 Hey, so it's a question. You guys, you guys are all women. Allegedly we made a movie, you know, 0.98

00:41:22.860 it's a perfect match made in heaven. Come on. And, uh, shockingly, they wanted nothing to do with it

00:41:28.180 whatsoever. That's because they only are going to give you a platform and amplify you. If they're

00:41:35.360 not afraid of you, if they're afraid of you, they're not going to do that. The way they deal

00:41:41.400 with people they're afraid of is mostly by ignoring them as much as possible. De-platforming

00:41:48.180 and ignoring as much as possible. Do everything they can to not acknowledge. And then if they do

00:41:55.260 acknowledge you, it's, it's going to be to condemn you as a, as a bigot and all the rest

00:41:59.860 of it. That's what they do when they're afraid. If they're not afraid and they think that you're

00:42:05.600 the safest version of, uh, alleged conservatism, then yeah, they're going to put you, they'll put

00:42:10.440 you on the view. They'll put you on, they'll bring you on CNN or bring an MSNBC, uh, because

00:42:16.960 they figure that you are a version of conservatism that they can embarrass, that they can straw man,

00:42:21.740 that they can, you know, they can use as a punching bag. I don't think it'll work in

00:42:27.720 their favor on the view just because the women on the view are so incredibly stupid. Um, but 1.00

00:42:33.400 that is the plan clearly. All right, let's get to the comment section.

00:42:36.980 Wendy says, Matt, I really hope that you read my tweet. I cried so hard at the last scene of your

00:42:50.920 beautiful telling documentary. It's also simple. That last scene. So poignant. Thank you for

00:42:55.080 protecting our precious future love and blessings. Uh, a lot of people have said they love the ending,

00:42:59.300 which, uh, and I tweeted something a couple of days ago. So what was your favorite part? And a lot

00:43:02.980 of people said the ending, which I, which I, I love to hear because it took us so long to come up

00:43:07.520 with that ending. I mean, it seems so simple and it is, and that's the point, but we went through

00:43:12.040 many different ideas. Like how, how do you know, what do we, how do we get to, how do we end this?

00:43:15.580 We had, we had the entire film and we had it all done and, uh, we couldn't figure out how exactly to

00:43:21.700 end it. And this was like, we were, I don't know, we were weeks from it releasing and we still hadn't

00:43:27.340 actually figured out what the end is until we came up with this idea. And then you see it. It's like,

00:43:32.120 how did that take you? How did that take you months to figure that out? Well, it did somehow.

00:43:35.900 Uh, and because it occurred to me that, uh, Jordan Peterson set up the ending for us perfectly,

00:43:42.100 which he, and we, we had filmed that months before that interview with Jordan Peterson.

00:43:46.200 Um, and he said, I asked him, what is a woman? He said, marry one and find out. 1.00

00:43:51.040 And I said, well, I should go home and ask my wife. It didn't occur to me until months later that,

00:43:54.360 oh, well, that's the end. We should, I, we should, I should go home and ask my wife.

00:43:57.020 So I'm glad that, uh, that in the end, we made the right decision there, I guess.

00:44:03.440 Uh, Lisa says, Matt, I love the whole film, but nothing can beat the Africa segment.

00:44:08.240 Uh, I agree. That's my favorite part. Favorite, favorite to watch, you know,

00:44:13.360 favorite to also film as well. There's a, there's a whole separate documentary that we could make

00:44:17.200 just about going to Africa for that week. It's a, it's a very different world in a lot of ways.

00:44:21.280 And, um, I think I've told this story before, but people always ask me where we stayed when we were

00:44:28.820 in Africa, because we're down talking to the Maasai tribe, you know, out in the, in the African bush,

00:44:33.880 like, where do you stay? Did we stay with the tribe or was there a holiday in nearby?

00:44:38.380 And the answer is none of the above. We stayed in tents, uh, about 20 minutes away and they were

00:44:43.660 nice tents. I mean, they were like, they were big tents. So they were nice and they were big,

00:44:46.940 but they were tense. Uh, they were shelters made of canvas, which was, which is disconcerting

00:44:52.600 because we're out and there's a safari park right there. And it's not like, uh, you know,

00:44:56.440 it's the safari park when I say park, it's not like it's all fenced in. So you just, it's the

00:45:00.700 wilderness and there are every dangerous animal you can imagine. They're all just like there.

00:45:05.780 They just, they could be in the woods at any time. And, uh, and you know, you could hear the,

00:45:11.200 the, uh, hyenas at night, you know, while you're sleeping in your tent with that little canvas 0.58

00:45:16.740 wall. And it was thin enough that enraged baboons could rip through it and tear our

00:45:22.380 stuff apart, which is what happened to our director. And I think one of the person in

00:45:25.420 the film, when they were not in the tents, baboon got in, ripped it apart. Uh, so that's

00:45:32.120 what, but at least, you know, there were, there were, uh, where we were staying this, this with

00:45:36.080 the tents that they called it a resort. And I was told that we were staying in a resort in

00:45:40.240 Africa. So I had certain notions in mind that was not a tent, but, uh, they had to work

00:45:45.760 employees there. And, um, at night they would bring you out to your tent because it's dark,

00:45:51.240 you know, there could be animals, but at least they had, they'd carry giant sticks. There was

00:45:54.780 no guns, but they had giant sticks to defend you in case you were attacked by a lion or something.

00:45:59.500 Um, another one says watched was a woman from Peterson's Lincoln. Absolutely loved every moment

00:46:04.180 of it. The ending scene with Matt's wife was a spectacular mix of corny, but funny. Wish I had

00:46:08.220 paid the money and supported when it was released, but I knew the free day would come. Uh, yeah,

00:46:13.060 the free day did come, but we, we still do need your money actually, because, uh, the,

00:46:17.980 the only way that, and we say this all the time, but it's very much true. The only way

00:46:23.580 the documentary exists is through our subscribers without our subscribers. It just wouldn't,

00:46:27.780 it wouldn't exist. We wouldn't be able to do it. We won't be able to, to make films like

00:46:31.180 this. And, um, we have a lot of big plans for the future and a lot coming up. And in order

00:46:37.500 for any of that to happen and to be successful, we need, uh, we need your support as well. So

00:46:42.860 please consider becoming a subscriber. Uh, finally looking at it, we can end on a sales pitch.

00:46:50.820 Another one. Anyway, Matt, thank you for your strong advocacy. Where, where can I purchase a

00:46:54.500 copy of your children's book? It deserves a place in my home. You can purchase it on, uh, Amazon and

00:46:59.800 I do encourage Amazon. There are other ways you can get it. You can go to the dailywire.com. You can buy

00:47:04.500 it there. Uh, there are other places you can buy it, but I encourage Amazon because every time you

00:47:10.640 buy Johnny, the walrus from Amazon and Amazon employee cries every single time. Uh, and, and

00:47:16.960 you know, we know that that's not an exaggeration. We have video. We have, we have a leaked video of

00:47:22.640 them in tears because people are buying Johnny, the walrus from them. So I would very much encourage

00:47:27.080 you to buy it there. Well, as you heard us talk about on the show today and over the last couple of

00:47:30.880 days, we, uh, we've been having the fight of our, of our lives over free speech and, uh, and we won

00:47:36.420 that fight. And you know about the amazing success of what is woman, uh, ever since it released on

00:47:41.820 Twitter and really, uh, for the entire year before that. But the thing is, there's still a lot of work

00:47:46.200 to be done. We have to keep pushing back against the left. We have to be the light in the darkness.

00:47:50.780 You see what we're up against. It's not easy, but with your support, we can continue to gain new

00:47:54.940 ground. So as we just talked about, if you aren't yet a daily wire plus subscriber, now is the time

00:48:00.220 because if you sign up today, you'll get 25% off your membership when you use code woman at checkout.

00:48:04.740 So go to dailywire.com slash subscribe today. Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:48:13.880 The pop singer Lizzo has made several appearances in the daily cancellation. She's one of the all

00:48:18.360 stars of this segment. If there's ever a daily cancellation pro bowl, she'll be, uh, she'll be

00:48:22.740 one of the first people invited. And usually when we have, we've talked about her on this show,

00:48:27.460 um, the conversation has revolved around her weight, which is substantial. Lizzo is obviously

00:48:32.320 morbidly obese. This is a fact that comes up so often because she brings it up herself. So often

00:48:37.540 she highlights it. She's built an entire career about, uh, around calling attention to her body 1.00

00:48:42.620 and her fatness and promoting both as beautiful. In spite of that, she now says she doesn't want anyone 1.00

00:48:48.960 talking about the thing that she always talks about. She's sick of it. She says, and she's on the

00:48:53.600 verge of retiring from public life entirely because of all the comments. The daily mail

00:48:57.800 reports, quote, Lizzo has threatened to quit her singing career after she was cruelly fat shamed 1.00

00:49:02.560 online. The juice hit maker 35 was left incensed after seeing a mean comment online from author

00:49:08.160 Leah Halpern, which read, quote, how is Lizzo still this fat when she constantly is moving this much 1.00

00:49:14.000 on stage? I wonder what she must be eating. Reposting the comment, Lizzo wrote, quote, just logged

00:49:20.080 on in the app on the app. And this is the type of S I see about me on a daily basis is really starting

00:49:24.940 to make me hate the world. Then someone in the comments said, I eat lots of fast food. I literally

00:49:30.080 stopped eating fast food years ago. I'm tired of explaining myself all the time. I just want to

00:49:34.140 get on this app without seeing my name on some bull S. It's important to note that Lizzo is responding

00:49:40.060 to a comment from some random person on Twitter who no one's ever heard of. Lizzo has fans who fawn

00:49:46.560 over her constantly. Her comments and messages are no doubt full of support and adulation. Not to

00:49:52.580 mention she has the entire media apparatus that adores her. She is loved by Hollywood and pop 0.99

00:49:56.960 culture. She's been hailed as a hero, as beautiful and bold by every corporate media outlet. And yet she 0.51

00:50:03.600 decided to focus on this one comment from this one person. That was her decision. You know, what you

00:50:10.360 choose to focus on, you can't control. This is a general life rule, kids. You can't control what other

00:50:16.220 people say about you or to you. You can control what you choose to focus on. However, continuing

00:50:23.880 quote, the star added that she hated Twitter and said, this is what my body looks like when I'm

00:50:28.280 eating clean and working out. She added quote, y'all really need to touch grass. I'm not trying

00:50:32.480 to be fat. I'm not trying to be smaller. I'm literally just trying to live and be healthy.

00:50:37.520 This is what my body looks like. Even when I'm eating super clean and working out, y'all speak on

00:50:41.900 stuff y'all know nothing about and I'm starting to get heated. I hate it here. The love definitely

00:50:47.100 do not outweigh the hate on social media all because I'm fat. This is crazy. Y'all don't know

00:50:51.960 how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on an effing

00:50:57.020 farm. I literally never search my name. This stuff just comes up on my TL and it's wild. I swear I just

00:51:03.760 want to look at dance videos and science news and this S comes in every day. Also, to the people who

00:51:09.240 haven't had an original thought or fresh air in years, being fat isn't my brand. Being fat is

00:51:13.280 what my body looks like. That's it. That's all. My brand is feel good music. My brand is championing

00:51:17.940 all people. My brand is Black Girl Liberation. I'm glad we can get all this in because you need to

00:51:22.680 know all this, everything she said. By the way, I like to think I have the same brand, Black Girl

00:51:26.800 Liberation. But we aren't done with Lizzo's complaints. A little more. She also posted a video

00:51:31.800 showing her hitting out at trolls at a recent concert captioned, I will never shut up about how difficult

00:51:35.920 y'all make it for fat people to simply exist. Minding your business is free. If the internet

00:51:39.820 was limited and one comment took 24 hours to post, I wonder what social media would be like.

00:51:46.420 Well, it'd be pretty boring for one thing. This tells you quite a lot about Lizzo's mentality.

00:51:50.900 One person insulted her and now she wants the entire internet locked down with everyone limited 0.99

00:51:55.440 to one post per 24 hours. But she hasn't thought this through. Just think about how much more

00:52:01.240 insulting it will be if someone uses their one post in a day to call you fat. And why would anyone call

00:52:07.980 her fat? Well, because she is, medically and objectively speaking. She's obese. There's no way 1.00

00:52:14.700 around it. Literally. But why would people say it out loud is the question. Why do they feel entitled to

00:52:21.920 make observations about her body, even if those observations are true? Why don't they, as she says,

00:52:26.960 mind their own business? Her body isn't their business after all, is it? Well, see, that's the 1.00

00:52:32.720 problem. Lizzo apparently thinks that her body is everyone else's business. She's made a career out 1.00

00:52:37.240 of putting her body on display. If she didn't want people to notice her body and form opinions about

00:52:42.080 it, she wouldn't go around dressed like this. Oh, we blurred it. Well, that's good. Uh, that is 0.82

00:53:02.780 Lizzo walking onto a plane wearing a thong in case you didn't notice. Fortunately, it's a private jet,

00:53:08.800 but this should still be some kind of FAA violation. And that was obviously not the first

00:53:12.500 time that Lizzo's traipsed about, you know, about in public and only her underwear. She frequently 0.99

00:53:16.300 parades her mostly naked body around. She also sings songs about her body. She talks about her

00:53:20.400 body. Uh, she posts pictures of it. If Lizzo is simply the victim of fat phobia, along with racism

00:53:26.160 and sexism and all the other isms, then we would have to wonder why a singer like say Aretha Franklin

00:53:31.260 was never criticized for her obesity the way Lizzo is. And the answer is that Aretha Franklin was classy

00:53:36.440 and dignified. And to my knowledge, never posted any Instagram videos of herself at a thong.

00:53:41.500 Here's the thing that lots of people today seem to struggle with. It's a rather simple concept.

00:53:46.660 People will form opinions about and potentially criticize you for the parts of yourself that you

00:53:53.140 choose to advertise and boast about. If you're advertising and boasting about unhealthy and objectively

00:53:59.620 bad parts of yourself, then the criticisms will not only be inevitable, but also justified.

00:54:04.640 This is a fact of life. When you go in front of a crowd and you say, hey folks, look at this.

00:54:11.540 And then you show them some personal aspect of your life, especially if that personal aspect 0.90

00:54:16.140 is your own ass, you are literally asking them to notice it and think about it and form their own 0.98

00:54:22.660 perspective. Now you may only be explicitly asking for the first thing, the noticing, but the other two 1.00

00:54:29.240 are part of the package, whether you like it or not. Human beings will develop thoughts about whatever

00:54:34.940 they notice. Okay. This just comes with being a conscious agent operating in the world. And in some

00:54:40.620 cases, the thought might be as simple as, dear God, put that away. But there will be a thought of some

00:54:46.860 kind. A thought that they may or may not express out loud. Either way, you introduced the subject, you

00:54:53.160 presented it to the public, whether the public asked for it or not. Which means this all comes

00:54:58.900 back to you and your own choices. You only have yourself to blame. There's no use complaining about

00:55:04.680 it now. But what does any of this matter? I mean, Lizzo is a champion of the body positivity movement,

00:55:10.180 isn't she? I thought she feels positive about her body. I thought she's a powerful, confident,

00:55:14.740 empowered black woman. Why is she having a public meltdown over a comment from some random person 1.00

00:55:19.800 she doesn't know? This is how it so often goes with the body positivity people. They tell us how

00:55:25.140 positive they feel about their bodies, how in love with themselves they are, how beautiful they imagine

00:55:30.320 themselves to be. And then they break down in tears when one person disagrees. It's almost like,

00:55:36.260 in fact, no, it's exactly like all of this body positivity stuff is a massive cope. It's not a

00:55:42.560 declaration, but rather a plea disguised as a declaration. Lizzo and the rest of them, they all declare,

00:55:49.440 I'm big and beautiful and I love my body. But what they really mean is, help me convince myself

00:55:55.340 that I am beautiful and I love my body. This is how leftism works in general. Every statement about

00:56:01.080 a person, every statement a person makes about themselves is really a plea, an exhortation,

00:56:07.020 a demand. They're not telling you what they think about themselves, but rather what they want to think

00:56:12.560 about themselves. To them, the whole external world exists for no other reason than to reinforce

00:56:17.780 whatever happy thoughts they want to think about themselves. And as a member of the external world,

00:56:23.680 you are nothing but a cog in the self-rationalization machine. You're not meant to mind your own

00:56:29.700 business, certainly not. When Lizzo puts on a thong and shows you her ass, you're not supposed to 1.00

00:56:34.640 remain silent and walk away because she doesn't want you to just be silent and back slowly away, 0.99

00:56:40.660 or rather turn and run. She doesn't want that. But that's what minding your own business would mean.

00:56:46.360 No, you're supposed to say, you know, you're supposed to say something, but you're not supposed

00:56:51.260 to say anything like, hey, put some pants on or, hey, this is, you know, unsanitary for the people

00:56:56.400 who sit in that airplane seat after you. What you're supposed to do is cheer and applaud and say

00:57:02.300 all the things to Lizzo that she says to herself in the mirror. You know, we often talk about with

00:57:07.360 gender ideology, that self-perception, the self-perception of another person suddenly becomes

00:57:12.940 your project, your assignment. You're conscripted in the effort to prop up someone else's precarious

00:57:18.800 ideas about themselves. But as we see here, this phenomenon is not limited to gender ideology.

00:57:23.740 The body positivity movement works the same way. The world is meant to participate in the lies that 0.99

00:57:29.740 the individual tells herself. If anyone chooses instead to tell the truth, they have committed an act

00:57:36.680 of violence, of hate. This is the expectation that Lizzo has of the public. Many people in the public

00:57:44.460 will live up to it or down to it in this case. They will repeat the lies. They'll prop up her false 0.99

00:57:49.500 self-image and a minority will not. And Lizzo can't help but focus on the minority because she knows 0.91

00:57:56.300 that they're telling the truth. And that's what makes her so angry, which is why she is today,

00:58:02.260 once again, canceled. And that'll do it for this portion of the show. As we move over to the
