The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1184 - Disney Panics As Its Wokest Remake Yet Earns Widespread Mockery

00:00:00.100 Today on the Matt Walsh Show, Disney goes into full-on panic mode after embarrassing photos leak, revealing its wokest remake yet.

00:00:06.560 What they're doing to Snow White is truly a travesty.

00:00:08.960 Also, a Biden administration official says that we can never know who left cocaine in the White House, even though, of course, we all know.

00:00:14.740 Mike Pence and Tucker Carlson get into a heated debate about the war in Ukraine.

00:00:17.460 The whole debate centers around a question that the Mike Pences of the world have never really answered, namely, why should anyone in America care about Ukraine in the first place?

00:00:24.040 In our daily cancellation, a Republican congressman is condemned by Democrats and Republicans alike for using the term colored people.

00:00:30.000 But why is that term offensive exactly? We'll talk about all that and more today on the Matt Walsh Show.

00:00:42.240 As central banks in countries like China, India, and Australia begin looking to transition to a digital currency, the Federal Reserve has been contemplating the same for the U.S.

00:00:49.900 With a digital currency, the government could track every single purchase you make.

00:00:53.620 Officials could even prohibit you from purchasing certain products or easily freeze or seize part or all of your money.

00:00:59.320 Times like these are a great reminder to diversify a portion of your savings into gold.

00:01:03.560 You can do that with the help of Birch Gold.

00:01:05.980 And they are who I buy my gold from, so do thousands of other concern savers.

00:01:09.540 Birch Gold will help you convert an existing IRA or 401k into an IRA in gold, and you don't pay a penny out of pocket.

00:01:15.020 When currencies fail, gold is a safe haven.

00:01:17.120 How much more time does the dollar really have?

00:01:18.740 Think about that.

00:01:19.820 That's why you've got to protect your savings with gold.

00:01:21.520 Birch Gold has an A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau.

00:01:23.380 Thousands of happy customers.

00:01:25.000 You can find out why by texting Walsh to 989898 and get your free info kit on gold.

00:01:29.480 If a central bank digital currency becomes a reality, it'll be nice to have some gold to depend on.

00:01:33.800 Again, text Walsh to 989898.

00:01:37.580 Welcome back to The Matt Walsh Show.

00:01:39.120 I've been away for three weeks, approximately 450 years in podcast time, working on some major projects.

00:01:45.200 Now, some who follow me on Twitter noticed over the past many days that I have posted a number of pictures of me out fishing with my kids.

00:01:52.980 And this has led to some scandalous rumors that I promised major projects and then just went fishing instead.

00:01:59.180 Now, it is true that I have done some fishing, but it's also true that I've been working on other projects not related to fishing.

00:02:05.120 We're still not at the point where we can announce anything about those projects, but I promise you that you will not be disappointed when that time comes.

00:02:11.340 I can also promise that I will not have any more extended absences in the foreseeable future.

00:02:16.340 I'm back. I'm not going anywhere, whether you like it or not.

00:02:18.620 Also, for the record, I did catch some really nice fish, but that's neither here nor there.

00:02:22.420 Now, on to the first topic we'll tackle in my return.

00:02:24.720 It's not necessarily the most important topic, but it is perhaps the most hilarious.

00:02:28.880 And so it wins pride of place.

00:02:30.820 On Friday, the Daily Mail obtained and published what it said were exclusive photos from the set of Disney's new woke Snow White live action remake.

00:02:40.140 As we know, Disney is in the process of slowly cannibalizing itself, eating away at its own legacy, until soon, mercifully, there will be nothing left.

00:02:49.320 They are recreating all of their own classic films, releasing new lifeless remake versions that are similar to the old versions,

00:02:56.280 except shorn of all the charm and creativity and humor and beauty and, you know, all that stuff you don't need.

00:03:01.920 They asked themselves, hey, what would our best films be like if they didn't have any of the qualities that made them special? 0.89

00:03:08.040 They decided to find out the answer to that question, and the answer is that, well, all the films suck, apparently.

00:03:14.440 And as a result, they've mostly been flops.

00:03:16.900 Each remake has earned increasingly diminishing returns, and so Disney responds by frantically blaming every new failure on racism and bigotry.

00:03:25.960 This is their marketing strategy. 0.91

00:03:27.700 Put out a crappy movie and then claim that anyone who doesn't buy a ticket is a Nazi.

00:03:31.420 It was a relatively successful tactic 10 years ago, but there are diminishing returns for that also,

00:03:37.200 because after all, most of us have now been branded Nazis 99 times over.

00:03:42.360 The 100th time doesn't have much impact.

00:03:44.900 It's all kind of sunk cost at this point.

00:03:48.340 And if these set photos are any indication, there will be a whole lot of Nazis refusing to see this movie as well.

00:03:55.420 Well, the Daily Mail reported, quote,

00:03:57.520 Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to the job center they go, for the seven dwarves have been replaced by magical creatures for Disney's live-action remake of Snow White. 0.83

00:04:05.940 The character of the fictional princess, who will be played by Rachel Zegler in the film,

00:04:09.900 has been pictured for the first time with her new companions, who appear to be a mix of genders, ethnicities, and heights.

00:04:14.920 The actress, wearing Snow White's famous yellow and blue dress and a red cape,

00:04:18.640 is trailed by the group who are dressed in brightly colored clothes and carrying work tools.

00:04:22.260 They were spotted shooting scenes in Bedfordshire on Thursday in pictures obtained exclusively by Mail Online.

00:04:28.820 Disney announced that magical creatures would replace these seven dwarves to avoid reinforcing stereotypes

00:04:34.540 after Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage criticized the effing backwards story last year.

00:04:41.060 As we can see in the pictures, not only is Snow White not white, but the dwarves are not dwarves anymore.

00:04:46.940 Behind the Hispanic Snow White, we see what appears to be a group of patrons

00:04:50.880 just leaving the local Renaissance fair.

00:04:53.460 They certainly don't look anything like people who get up in the morning and go work in the mines,

00:04:57.160 or work anywhere else, for that matter.

00:04:59.500 The seven dwarves have become seven unemployed gypsies. 1.00

00:05:02.820 And there appear to be only one, there appears to be actually only one dwarf in the bunch,

00:05:07.380 because apparently the most politically correct thing is to take jobs away from dwarf actors 0.85

00:05:12.520 and give them to regular-sized people.

00:05:15.580 Now, I would have thought, if anything, it would go the other way, right?

00:05:18.200 In the PC Snow White, everyone should be a dwarf, including Snow White herself.

00:05:23.940 In fact, that's a movie I would actually watch.

00:05:26.180 But these rules aren't for me to make, or understand.

00:05:29.380 The Daily Mail has a little more information about this flaming garbage heap of a film.

00:05:33.140 It says, quote,

00:05:33.780 Co-written by Barbie's Greta Gerwig, the up-and-coming adaptation will not feature a prince charming,

00:05:39.240 and will instead focus on a stronger Snow White who dreams of becoming a leader.

00:05:43.640 Ms. Zegler previously addressed reports that the film was trying to be politically correct,

00:05:47.280 claiming that the story needed refreshing.

00:05:49.680 She said,

00:05:50.240 People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White.

00:05:53.480 Yeah, it is, because it needed that.

00:05:56.000 Our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who has a function beyond,

00:06:00.640 Someday my prince will come.

00:06:02.080 Yes, how refreshing.

00:06:05.200 How unexpected.

00:06:06.680 I mean, can you believe it?

00:06:08.400 In this version, the lead character is a strong, kick-ass female who don't need no man. 1.00

00:06:14.640 What a surprising twist.

00:06:17.280 I mean, we haven't seen a movie like this since literally every other movie that's been released in the last 15 years.

00:06:23.080 A truly inspired choice by Disney.

00:06:24.960 Only Disney, I mean really, only Disney would have the artistic courage to do the thing that everyone else does,

00:06:33.300 and everyone expects them to do.

00:06:35.980 Needless to say, in reality, the true refreshing spin would be a story where the lead actress isn't a flawless superhuman goddess, 1.00

00:06:43.920 but is actually a human being with flaws and weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

00:06:49.620 That would not only make her relatable, but would help create something that no major studio film has had in at least two decades, 0.64

00:06:57.160 namely tension and suspense.

00:06:59.780 You know, just like the most basic storytelling ingredients that you need in every story, including fairy tales.

00:07:05.340 But of course, these stories don't have those storytelling ingredients, because the stories are not stories.

00:07:11.380 They are many other things.

00:07:12.860 Cash grabs, leftist sermons, acts of repentance for past sins, reparations, virtue signals, ESG score boosters.

00:07:22.940 Many things.

00:07:24.240 But they're not stories.

00:07:25.440 They're not films.

00:07:26.400 They're not art.

00:07:27.120 Now, when the internet got a hold of these pictures of Snow Latino and the seven slovenly hippies, 1.00

00:07:33.660 the mockery came fast and hard and hilariously.

00:07:37.400 In fact, the mockery was so overwhelming that Disney panicked and issued a statement to the Daily Beast claiming the photos are fake.

00:07:44.600 And this prompted a round of smug, fact-checking articles from outlets like the AV Club,

00:07:49.120 which ran cover for Disney with this headline, quote,

00:07:52.080 Disney says obviously fake Snow White photos are fake.

00:07:55.640 The article continues,

00:07:58.140 People who love to be mad and loud on the internet really do just jump at any possible opportunity to get really mad and really loud,

00:08:04.800 even opportunities that are very clearly produced with that exact purpose in mind.

00:08:08.500 Case in point, if you saw Rachel Zegler trending on Twitter today,

00:08:11.740 you might have been surprised to pull up an exclusive set photo of the actress from Disney's upcoming Snow White remake.

00:08:17.300 Zegler's casting already sparked a limited but loud backlash from a handful of people opposed to the casting of a Latina Snow White. 0.99

00:08:22.980 But the mixed race and gender group of dwarves also sparked fresh backlash from Twitter users like Libs of TikTok

00:08:28.560 and right-wing commentator Matt Walsh, who threw little temper tantrums.

00:08:32.840 Earlier this afternoon, a Disney spokesperson told the Daily Beast, quote,

00:08:36.080 The photos are fake and not from our production.

00:08:38.540 We are currently trying to have the Daily Mail issue a correction.

00:08:41.280 Yes, well, there's one problem about these fake photos.

00:08:45.700 The obviously fake photos are actually real.

00:08:49.920 A few hours after issuing the statement, Disney backtracked and admitted that they lied.

00:08:55.240 The photos are from the production.

00:08:57.140 They are not fake.

00:08:58.260 They just aren't official, meaning that Disney didn't officially release them,

00:09:02.720 which is obviously not the same thing as being fake.

00:09:04.860 I mean, this is like if somebody snaps a picture of me unkempt and gross-looking in sandals and sweatpants

00:09:10.440 buying diapers from Walmart at 11 p.m.,

00:09:13.000 and I claim that the pictures are fake because I didn't officially pose for them.

00:09:17.840 Like, that's not how fakeness works.

00:09:20.280 The AV Club published this update on Friday evening.

00:09:23.420 Quote,

00:09:23.640 Now, I don't know what's better here.

00:09:41.060 The fact that the outlet tried to save face by adding that the photos still look pretty fake,

00:09:45.680 whatever that means,

00:09:46.780 or that Disney was so embarrassed by their own work that they tried to lie and claim that the pictures aren't real.

00:09:54.300 No, that's not from our movie.

00:09:56.440 Those are just a bunch of weirdos walking home from a thrift store.

00:10:00.400 The company will spend hundreds of millions of dollars producing and marketing this film,

00:10:04.740 and yet they are ashamed of it.

00:10:07.580 As well they should be.

00:10:10.120 This film, we can already tell, will be a travesty, like every other Disney remake.

00:10:13.500 It's also an example of actual cultural appropriation.

00:10:16.940 Okay, so when you hear this term cultural appropriation, you're wondering, what does that look like?

00:10:20.820 Well, it looks like this.

00:10:21.620 It looks like a Latina Snow White.

00:10:24.500 Snow White is a 19th century German fairy tale.

00:10:28.280 The name Snow White literally refers to the character's skin color.

00:10:32.460 She is supposed to be white as snow. 1.00

00:10:34.200 This is a defining feature of the character,

00:10:37.300 as it was described in the original Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

00:10:40.440 Reading now from the original fairy tale, this is what it says.

00:10:42.380 And while she was sewing and looking out the window at the snow, she pricked her finger with the needle,

00:10:47.280 and three drops of blood fell upon the snow.

00:10:49.580 And the red looked pretty upon the white snow, and she thought to herself,

00:10:52.820 would that I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the window frame.

00:10:58.200 Soon after that, she had a little daughter who was as white as snow and as red as blood,

00:11:01.620 and her hair was as black as ebony.

00:11:03.340 And she was therefore called Little Snow White.

00:11:06.000 Now, it's not as though Disney went searching for the new Snow White,

00:11:11.480 and they discovered that Rachel Zegler was so compelling,

00:11:15.020 such a talented and powerful actress,

00:11:16.960 that they felt they had no choice but to cast her in the role.

00:11:19.080 Like, they had to make an exception because she's just so good. 0.69

00:11:23.340 That's not what happened.

00:11:25.100 No, they specifically set out to strip this character of her whiteness, 0.93

00:11:29.020 to make the character not white.

00:11:31.360 This is appropriation.

00:11:32.780 It is anti-white racism.

00:11:34.440 Yes, it is racist to make Snow White not white,

00:11:37.480 because they are treating the whiteness of the character as a flaw that needs to be fixed.

00:11:46.200 The lead actress in the film has even said as much.

00:11:49.080 That they're fixing it.

00:11:52.040 And from there, they destroy everything else that makes the story what it is.

00:11:55.700 Everything else that made it resonate through the decades across the world for 200 years.

00:12:01.000 Modern leftists, consumed by their own narcissism,

00:12:03.880 come along and declare that they will improve what human beings have loved for generations.

00:12:11.240 And their way of improving it every time is to simply dismantle it.

00:12:16.120 This is what they've done to all of society.

00:12:18.100 Snow White is just the latest manifestation.

00:12:22.220 And it's not an insignificant manifestation.

00:12:25.600 And I'll tell you why.

00:12:26.940 Because you can tell a lot about a culture by the stories that it tells.

00:12:31.520 So what does it say about our culture that we have no story to tell?

00:12:36.580 We have only the negation of old stories.

00:12:40.160 We don't write new fairy tales.

00:12:42.280 We just throw the old ones in the fire.

00:12:45.300 We pretend like we've created something new.

00:12:48.600 But all we have done is defaced what is old and what is good.

00:12:52.900 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:13:54.140 American meat delivered.

00:13:56.040 All right.

00:13:57.800 You know, I did just realize that I'm still wearing my baby shark Band-Aid.

00:14:02.760 I was going to take it off, but then I forgot.

00:14:04.560 And so, look, you've got six kids.

00:14:06.380 These are the only Band-Aids that you have.

00:14:07.620 Had a little fishing mishap, and this is what I end up with.

00:14:11.680 It's a dangerous sport, fishing is.

00:14:14.200 So I missed several good stories while I was on hiatus.

00:14:18.340 I caught wind of these events.

00:14:19.820 I heard about them vaguely, like whispers in the breeze.

00:14:23.020 I didn't take the time to investigate most of what I missed because I figured what's in

00:14:26.740 the past might as well stay in the past, and everybody moves on from everything about

00:14:29.500 15 seconds later.

00:14:30.420 So it doesn't even matter.

00:14:32.520 Yeah, like, for instance, I heard there was something about a woman on a plane who was 0.55

00:14:35.120 attacked by a reptilian monster or something like that.

00:14:37.320 I don't know anything else about it.

00:14:39.160 I know there was an alien, obviously, but I don't know anything else.

00:14:42.160 Here's one story that I did follow while I was away, and we have an update now.

00:14:47.520 And that is the tale of, of course, the cocaine at the White House, the stash of coke found

00:14:51.320 at the White House, Hunter Biden's stash at the White House, the stash that we're supposed

00:14:54.560 to act like might have come from someone other than the president's own coke head son. 0.87

00:15:00.220 And here's the latest from the Daily Wire.

00:15:02.240 The investigation into the origin of the cocaine found in the White House was the best the

00:15:05.800 Secret Service could do despite not identifying a suspect, a top Biden administration official

00:15:10.040 said.

00:15:10.920 John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council, told Fox

00:15:15.180 News host Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday that at the end of the probe, there wasn't enough

00:15:19.660 forensic evidence to pinpoint the perpetrator.

00:15:23.340 Here's a little bit more from John Kirby explaining how this could possibly be the case.

00:15:27.980 Listen.

00:15:28.120 Certainly, you can understand that Americans, many of them, first of all, are aghast that

00:15:33.120 there was ever cocaine in the White House.

00:15:34.720 We heard that there were reports of marijuana a couple of times found there last year as

00:15:37.540 well.

00:15:38.240 But more importantly, that its case closed in less than two weeks.

00:15:41.240 We know nothing about who brought this in, inability to track people, no surveillance

00:15:45.480 cameras.

00:15:46.020 What if it was something much more dangerous?

00:15:47.860 Well, again, I can't really speak to the investigation that was done by the Secret Service.

00:15:51.400 They did the best they could to track down how it got there and who it might have belonged

00:15:55.940 to, and they just were not able to come up with any forensic evidence that that proves

00:15:59.820 it.

00:16:00.000 But of course, look, we take this seriously.

00:16:01.540 That's not the kind of thing we want to see happen.

00:16:03.420 Now, it did happen in a visitor's lobby area out just just outside the main West Wing.

00:16:09.520 So it was a highly trafficked area.

00:16:12.100 We're going to take a look at how that happened.

00:16:14.820 And obviously, if there's things we can do to prevent that in the future, certainly we'll

00:16:18.640 do that.

00:16:19.040 Nobody's happy about this.

00:16:20.120 I mean, if there's a way to prevent illegal drugs from coming to the White House, then

00:16:24.540 we will.

00:16:25.240 You know, if not, no big deal.

00:16:26.460 What are you going to do?

00:16:27.660 What are you going to do?

00:16:28.520 It's not ideal.

00:16:29.600 Sure.

00:16:30.000 Like, we'd prefer if there wasn't cocaine in the White House. 0.98

00:16:32.360 We'd prefer it.

00:16:33.620 But life's not perfect, OK?

00:16:35.240 You can't get everything you want.

00:16:36.960 Sometimes you don't want cocaine in the White House, and you get it.

00:16:39.160 And that's all there is to it.

00:16:40.360 Just get a grip, everybody.

00:16:41.500 Calm down.

00:16:42.980 Just cocaine, for God's sake.

00:16:44.280 Like, needless to say, the government would not have this kind of casual attitude if

00:16:49.300 cocaine was discovered in, say, your house or my house.

00:16:53.560 This is the sort of leniency, the sort of generosity of spirit that it only has for itself.

00:17:00.620 Very, very magnanimous of them.

00:17:03.080 You notice that about the government is that they're very, it can be very reasonable and

00:17:07.400 very understanding when it comes to their own crimes.

00:17:11.580 Anyway.

00:17:11.860 Meanwhile, we're supposed to take seriously the notion that somehow they aren't able to

00:17:16.720 determine who brought cocaine into the White House.

00:17:19.780 Like, they don't have security cameras everywhere.

00:17:23.120 Like, there isn't constant surveillance, OK?

00:17:26.360 If you pick your nose driving down the highway, you can be certain that your dirty deed was documented

00:17:32.680 by 47 different cameras.

00:17:35.840 Yet, if you bring a controlled substance into the White House and leave it there, OK, so you

00:17:41.440 take it out of your pocket or wherever you were stashing it, God knows where, and leave it there.

00:17:46.980 Somehow it's not caught by any cameras at all.

00:17:49.840 I mean, they have a log of every single person who enters that building, when they enter, where

00:17:58.080 they go, when they leave.

00:18:01.100 And somehow it's just, it's not possible.

00:18:03.820 They can't figure it out.

00:18:04.780 And what we learn from this, obviously, is yet again, they just don't, they don't, they don't

00:18:10.240 respect us.

00:18:11.100 Like, they don't, I think if they had any respect for us as the citizens, they would still lie

00:18:20.080 to us.

00:18:21.420 But they would at least feel the need to lie convincingly.

00:18:24.680 But here they don't.

00:18:29.700 Like, they know they're saying something that no one's going to believe.

00:18:32.440 You think John Kirby thinks that any of us will believe that the White House can't,

00:18:37.180 they can't figure out who brought Coke into the building?

00:18:42.180 No, they know that we're not going to believe that, but they don't care.

00:18:45.780 What they're saying to us is, yeah, you know that we're lying to you.

00:18:48.160 What are you going to do about it?

00:18:49.360 What are you going to do about it?

00:18:50.540 Nothing.

00:18:50.800 That's, that's the message.

00:18:54.000 Meanwhile, there's more from, from the White House.

00:18:56.620 This is also from the Daily Wire.

00:18:57.780 President Joe Biden ignited a firestorm this week after a bizarre video of him emerged this

00:19:01.400 week where he nibbled on a small child who appeared to not like the interaction.

00:19:07.000 The video of Biden came from his Helsinki, Finland trip and showed what happened when he approached

00:19:14.400 a woman carrying a small child.

00:19:15.860 And before you watch the video and you hear he nibbled on the child, you think like, what

00:19:20.100 is that?

00:19:20.800 Nibbled on the child?

00:19:22.500 Well, yes, literally that's what he did.

00:19:25.900 Let's, let's just watch this.

00:19:27.240 Go ahead.

00:19:37.680 That kid is, well, that kid is reacting like anyone would react in that exact same situation.

00:19:45.220 Uh, and, uh, meanwhile, the parents, the child is, is troubled by it.

00:19:50.320 The mom is just sitting there taking pictures.

00:19:54.640 Uh, this is strange to put up really mildly. 0.87

00:19:57.880 Actually, this is gross, deranged behavior.

00:20:00.760 This is, I mean, and I've seen some people excusing this and we've seen this type of thing from

00:20:05.420 Joe Biden many times, of course, of course, over the years.

00:20:07.740 And, uh, the excuse is that, well, he's just being friendly.

00:20:11.580 Uh, he's, he's your typical old grandfatherly type.

00:20:14.900 And this is old people. 1.00

00:20:16.080 This is what old people do. 1.00

00:20:16.860 No, this is not friendly.

00:20:19.680 This is not what old people do. 1.00

00:20:21.240 Don't, don't, uh, besmirch all elderly people by claiming that they just go around chomping

00:20:28.680 on children that pass by.

00:20:30.180 That's, that's not what, that's not what old people do. 1.00

00:20:32.960 Putting your mouth on someone else's baby is not friendly or normal behavior, no matter

00:20:37.280 your age.

00:20:37.740 And that's the kind of thing that shouldn't need to be said.

00:20:41.580 Okay.

00:20:42.020 Nobody should have to tell you not to put your mouth on someone's baby.

00:20:46.080 In fact, you shouldn't put your hands on someone's baby.

00:20:48.820 You know, you're going up and grabbing someone else's baby. 0.69

00:20:51.400 You shouldn't do that at all.

00:20:54.600 Uh, again, the kind of thing that shouldn't need to be said.

00:20:58.460 And it, it does need to be said to Joe Biden.

00:21:01.460 And it's been said many times.

00:21:03.320 And I'm sure his handlers have broached this subject with him, perhaps gingerly.

00:21:12.140 It is, it puts him in an awkward spot too.

00:21:14.260 How do you have a conversation with the president of the United States where you explain to him

00:21:20.100 that he shouldn't put his mouth on other people's babies?

00:21:24.880 But I'm sure they have.

00:21:27.240 And yet he keeps doing it.

00:21:28.520 Um, and so there's this real compulsion here, which is what makes it all the more disturbing.

00:21:34.200 And it also makes you wonder if he lacks these basic boundaries in public, like what the hell's

00:21:39.720 going on behind the scenes?

00:21:40.940 All right.

00:21:41.540 Uh, more from the daily wire, Republican president candidate, presidential candidate,

00:21:44.660 and former vice president, Mike Pence clashed with Tucker Carlson during a combative interview

00:21:48.500 on Friday in Iowa.

00:21:49.620 Pence's interview at the family leadership summit focused on the war in Ukraine, his beliefs

00:21:53.900 about what happened during the January 6th riot at the U S Capitol and his views on the

00:21:57.100 2020 presidential election.

00:21:58.760 Uh, this entire summit was, uh, was fascinating.

00:22:02.120 Tucker Carlson did a brilliant job of, um, questioning everyone who showed up and all the

00:22:07.280 major presidential candidates showed up except for Donald Trump.

00:22:09.360 He didn't come, but, um, Tucker Carlson kind of shows what it means to, to like, even though

00:22:16.800 it's no surprise, it's, it's no secret.

00:22:18.400 He's a conservative.

00:22:19.220 And so he agrees.

00:22:21.140 Well, you would think he agrees fundamentally with most of these people, or at least they,

00:22:26.480 they should have, uh, much in common philosophically.

00:22:30.300 Although when it comes to people like Pence and Nikki Haley, there's, there's not much

00:22:33.500 in common there.

00:22:34.600 Um, but in spite of that, you can still press someone and have a very revealing conversation.

00:22:43.780 In fact, if you can, you know, if you have some common ground, it becomes a, it can become

00:22:50.000 a much more probing and, um, compelling interview, uh, because now you're getting into more of

00:22:56.660 like the specific details.

00:22:59.220 And this is what happened with this.

00:23:00.580 And here's one clip.

00:23:01.980 This is specifically the conversation about Ukraine and, um, we'll play the whole interview.

00:23:06.880 Some of this is being taken out of context.

00:23:08.160 We'll play the, we'll play the whole clip here and then we'll talk about it.

00:23:10.260 Here it is.

00:23:10.560 We've been telling them we'll train their F-16 pilots, but now they're saying maybe January

00:23:16.060 we'll let somebody transfer some jets.

00:23:18.420 I'm sorry, Mr. Vice President, have you, I know you're running for president.

00:23:21.820 You are distressed.

00:23:23.020 You are distressed that the Ukrainians don't have enough American tanks.

00:23:27.900 Every city in the United States has become much worse over the past three years.

00:23:33.220 Drive around.

00:23:34.140 There's not one city that's gotten better in the United States.

00:23:37.040 And it's visible.

00:23:38.920 Our economy has degraded.

00:23:40.820 The suicide rate has jumped.

00:23:42.740 Public filth and disorder and crime have exponentially increased.

00:23:47.760 And yet your concern is that the Ukrainians, a country most people can't find on a map,

00:23:53.380 who've received tens of billions of U.S. tax dollars, don't have enough tanks.

00:23:57.640 I think it's a fair question to ask, like, where's the concern for the United States in that?

00:24:01.700 Well, it's not my concern.

00:24:02.700 Tucker, I've heard that routine from you before, but that's not my concern.

00:24:08.640 I'm running for president of the United States because I think this country's in a lot of trouble.

00:24:12.980 I think Joe Biden has weakened America at home and abroad.

00:24:17.120 And as president of the United States, we're going to restore law and order in our cities.

00:24:20.680 We're going to secure our border.

00:24:22.620 We're going to get this economy moving again.

00:24:24.640 And we're going to make sure that we have men and women on our courts at every level that will stand for the right to life

00:24:31.160 and defend all the God-given liberties enshrined in our Constitution.

00:24:35.600 Anybody that says that we can't be the leader of the free world and solve our problems at home has a pretty small view of the greatest nation on earth.

00:24:44.520 We can do both.

00:24:45.800 And as president of the United States, we will secure our border.

00:24:49.700 We will support our military.

00:24:51.220 We will revive our economy and stand by our values.

00:24:54.180 And we will also lead the world for freedom under my administration.

00:24:59.500 Okay, so I will say that Pence's critics, of which I am one, have intentionally taken this clip out of context,

00:25:09.540 which is unfortunate for a number of reasons.

00:25:13.640 Namely, it's not necessary.

00:25:15.260 There's plenty there to criticize.

00:25:17.040 But it's been taken out of context in a really cheap and manipulative way, and they all know what they're doing.

00:25:21.780 He said, that's not my concern.

00:25:23.280 And what you see some of his critics on Twitter claiming is that he was saying that the United States isn't his concern.

00:25:31.560 But obviously, he didn't say that.

00:25:33.040 He's not going to say that.

00:25:33.840 Even if he thought that, he's not going to say that.

00:25:36.680 He was trying to say that the stuff about Ukraine isn't really his concern.

00:25:41.560 Okay, that Ukraine is not his concern.

00:25:43.360 He was pushing back on that critique from Tucker.

00:25:45.720 His wording was awkward.

00:25:46.960 His timing was awkward.

00:25:48.360 But come on.

00:25:50.000 That's obviously what he was trying to convey.

00:25:52.340 With that said, Tucker's point is entirely correct.

00:25:55.520 Ukraine is simply not something that should be on our list of concerns at all.

00:26:02.600 It shouldn't make our list of priorities.

00:26:05.440 Period.

00:26:06.840 It's not on the list.

00:26:09.940 And those like Mike Pence and Nikki Haley and the rest of the establishment Republicans and Democrats as well,

00:26:17.620 who think the United States should continue to be involved in Ukraine, should even get more involved potentially.

00:26:22.340 You know, they've had well over a year now to explain why this should matter to American families.

00:26:30.560 Okay?

00:26:31.200 Why should it matter to American families? 0.93

00:26:34.000 It just, an average American citizen who gets up in the morning and has kids, has a family to feed,

00:26:38.860 all the things that they're thinking about and worried about, why should this be on the list?

00:26:47.280 Okay?

00:26:47.780 Why would an average American spend any time during the day worried about what happens with Ukraine?

00:26:53.300 How does it affect us?

00:26:54.620 And they've had a year, well over a year, to make that case and to explain.

00:27:01.320 And they haven't been able to do it.

00:27:03.640 The best they can do is say, well, it's all about freedom and the principles of freedom.

00:27:08.420 Which, first of all, Ukraine and its corrupt government cares as much about freedom and democracy as Putin does.

00:27:19.700 And second, what does the freedom of Ukraine, like even if this was about freedom,

00:27:26.260 and Zelensky was some sort of freedom fighter, a virtuous freedom fighter,

00:27:30.100 still, how does that affect us?

00:27:35.300 How does it impact us?

00:27:36.900 Whether Ukraine is free or not. 0.56

00:27:38.820 Whether Ukraine is in its own control, under its own control, under the control of Russia.

00:27:43.380 How does that affect us?

00:27:44.520 How does that impact us?

00:27:47.200 They haven't been able to make that case.

00:27:49.020 They haven't been able to connect those dots.

00:27:50.880 Because you can't.

00:27:52.780 And they know they can't.

00:27:54.320 And that's what really matters there.

00:27:56.560 Speaking of Russia, here's some great news out of Russia.

00:27:58.680 Of course, Russia gets a bad rap.

00:28:00.340 But the fact is that they get plenty right.

00:28:02.480 And we hear that, oh, you know, Russia doesn't value freedom and democracy like we just talked about.

00:28:06.700 What, like we do?

00:28:08.680 Yeah, we know Ukraine doesn't.

00:28:10.500 I mean, we live in a country where you can be branded a domestic terrorist if you go to a school board meeting.

00:28:16.540 We live in a country where pro-lifers are pulled out of their homes by federal agents at the crack of dawn

00:28:21.300 because they protested outside of an abortion clinic.

00:28:25.060 Like, that's what happens in our country.

00:28:26.160 So what exactly do we know about freedom here?

00:28:29.340 That's a question maybe we should ask ourselves.

00:28:32.020 But in any case, here's Russia's latest alleged sin. 0.95

00:28:35.140 This is from CNN.

00:28:35.800 The Russian state, Duma, or lower house of parliament, has voted in favor of a new law banning nearly all medical help for transgender people,

00:28:44.160 including gender reassignment surgery, in a raft of new anti-LGBTQ laws in Russia.

00:28:49.320 The bill, which had its third and final reading on Friday, prohibits doctors from conducting gender reassignment surgeries,

00:28:53.720 accepting cases related to treating congenital physiological anomalies in children.

00:28:57.660 It also restricts registry offices from amending official documents based on medical certificates of gender change.

00:29:02.360 The law must still be approved by the Federation Council and signed by President Vladimir Putin before it comes into force.

00:29:07.860 Amendments made for its third reading included disqualifying individuals who have undergone gender chases from becoming adoptive parents or guardians,

00:29:16.020 as well as the possibility of annulling a marriage if one or both spouses undergo a gender change and update their civil status records.

00:29:22.560 Now, I mean, this is all great stuff.

00:29:25.900 Of course, the claim that Russia has banned nearly all medical help for trans people is false.

00:29:31.280 That's not what the article describes.

00:29:33.640 It's not as if trans people are not allowed to get, like, heart surgery or something.

00:29:38.740 What they have banned or are trying to ban is sexual mutilation of people of all ages, 0.97

00:29:45.640 which is exactly the correct thing to do.

00:29:48.700 So, okay, as I have always argued, yes, we start by trying to protect the kids because they are the most vulnerable, the most innocent.

00:29:58.040 It is the most evil, the most egregious to butcher or mutilate children who have no capacity whatsoever to consent to this or to understand what's happening to them.

00:30:08.480 And so we begin by trying to protect them first.

00:30:11.560 And that's what a decent society does.

00:30:14.000 It's what decent people do.

00:30:15.740 You protect the kids first.

00:30:16.880 But that's not the end of it.

00:30:21.380 So kids should be the first ones we protect.

00:30:23.560 They should not be the only people we protect.

00:30:25.640 And all people, in fact, should be protected from doctors who want to profit off of their confusion, profit off the confusion of their patients, the mental illnesses of their patients, and butcher and mutilate them,

00:30:43.120 you know, and sell them surgeries on the basis of false promises.

00:30:50.380 That should be illegal for everyone.

00:30:51.820 And as I'm always explaining, it is not that we are banning.

00:30:59.220 You know, I'm not saying that adult trans people should be banned from getting these surgeries.

00:31:06.080 That is the effect, right?

00:31:08.220 That if the surgeries are banned, if you're an adult trans person, you can't get them.

00:31:11.920 But that's not where the law is targeted.

00:31:16.100 It's about banning doctors from doing this to people.

00:31:21.980 That's where the ban sets in.

00:31:23.900 And yes, if you ban doctors, that means that they can't do it to anyone.

00:31:26.840 And that's also, if you say that it's a violation of rights, if we were to ban all so-called gender affirmation procedures, we were to ban all of them for everybody, which we should. 1.00

00:31:42.860 And this should happen on the federal level.

00:31:45.560 And then if you claim, well, that's a violation of rights, whose rights are being violated?

00:31:52.460 I mean, the people performing the surgeries are the doctors.

00:31:54.860 So you're saying they have a right to do that to people?

00:31:58.140 They have a right to take someone who's confused, take a man who's confused, who thinks he's a woman, even though he's not. 0.98

00:32:03.740 A man who believes that his salvation, his happiness can be found in, you know, mutilating his genitalia. 0.98

00:32:10.880 So that it allegedly will vaguely resemble that of a female genitalia, but will never actually be female genitalia. 0.99

00:32:18.120 Will never have the function of female genitalia. 1.00

00:32:19.900 But you're saying the doctors have the right to exploit this person.

00:32:27.500 The entire gender reassignment industry is built on exploitation and abuse. 1.00

00:32:36.680 The fact that the people who are being exploited don't realize it doesn't make it OK.

00:32:44.760 That's that's how exploitation always works.

00:32:48.700 OK, there's always coercion with exploitation.

00:32:52.900 And that doesn't make it OK, obviously.

00:32:55.080 So this should be this.

00:32:57.520 This certainly is the ultimate goal.

00:33:00.120 And this is something that Russia has clearly gotten right. 0.90

00:33:04.660 Vivek Ramaswamy has been surging recently in the polls after this past weekend, especially.

00:33:10.240 He was at the same event as Pence.

00:33:12.200 Then he did a big Turning Point USA event the next day.

00:33:14.680 And there's one clip going back to the the Friday event.

00:33:20.120 And he's talking to Glenn Beck about draining the swamp.

00:33:23.320 And we've heard the promise to drain the swamp.

00:33:25.540 We've heard it from Trump.

00:33:26.780 We hear from every Republican presidential candidate.

00:33:29.880 And Trump was not the first one to promise that.

00:33:31.880 What we found is that no Republican president has actually done it.

00:33:35.180 Trump included.

00:33:35.860 Well, Vivek is making the same promise.

00:33:41.180 But here he's asked, well, how will you do that?

00:33:45.440 And here's his response.

00:33:48.140 I'm coming in with a clear sided view, Glenn, of shutting down most of the administrative state.

00:33:53.600 How realistic is that?

00:33:54.760 Very realistic.

00:33:55.800 So, first of all, do it on strong legal authority.

00:33:58.020 So I'm a unique combination.

00:33:59.200 I don't like to brag a lot, but I'm a CEO.

00:34:00.940 But I've also studied the Constitution deeply.

00:34:03.040 And the Supreme Court right now shares my view of the Constitution.

00:34:06.740 The U.S. president already has statutory authority.

00:34:09.820 The Presidential Reorganization Act of 1977 says you can shut down redundant agencies.

00:34:14.440 Well, when I look at what the DEA does and what the U.S. marshals do,

00:34:17.620 there's my legal justification for shutting down the FBI

00:34:19.800 without asking Congress for permission or forgiveness.

00:34:23.060 There's another justification, stimulating the economy, also in that same statute.

00:34:27.500 The $80 billion spent in the U.S. Department of Education.

00:34:31.480 You know what?

00:34:32.180 That would stimulate the economy to give it back to the people.

00:34:34.640 That's my legal justification.

00:34:36.520 So I understand the legal footing.

00:34:38.420 By the way, what stopped Trump?

00:34:40.120 The civil service protections, they said.

00:34:42.660 Well, guess what?

00:34:43.320 Read the law.

00:34:44.480 Civil service protections protect against the individual firings of employees

00:34:48.260 for supposedly political reasons.

00:34:50.480 They do not apply to mass layoffs.

00:34:52.820 And mass layoffs are absolutely what I'm bringing to Washington, D.C.

00:34:56.940 Would you lay it off, reform it, or close it down, these institutions?

00:35:01.280 Many agencies, I would just shut down the agencies.

00:35:03.680 There's a certain list of other agencies where we have 75% headcount reduction plans.

00:35:07.920 Jeez.

00:35:08.400 And then there are other agencies which we move out of Washington, D.C., make people move.

00:35:12.060 Many of them will volunteer not to.

00:35:13.520 We save on the severance costs.

00:35:16.220 Imagine that.

00:35:17.140 He actually, now, does the fact that he has a plan for accomplishing this, does that mean

00:35:21.860 that he'll be able to accomplish it?

00:35:23.920 Not necessarily.

00:35:25.080 You know, having a plan is not the same as being able to execute it.

00:35:28.660 But you should be able to explain exactly how you're going to do it.

00:35:35.080 And this is what we should, whoever you support in Republican primary, this is what you should,

00:35:39.960 this is minimal stuff.

00:35:41.800 This is minimal stuff.

00:35:42.820 This is what you should require of whoever you support.

00:35:45.320 That whatever their alleged goals are, starting with draining the swamp and, you know, getting

00:35:53.120 rid of the administrative state, same thing as draining the swamp, means the same, effectively

00:35:56.240 means the same thing.

00:35:59.500 But whatever the promise is, starting with that, they need to be able to coherently explain

00:36:05.620 how they'll do it.

00:36:08.040 What is your plan?

00:36:10.920 Walk me through the steps.

00:36:13.120 And just saying, I'll do it.

00:36:15.040 And it'll be done.

00:36:17.140 That's not enough.

00:36:19.480 Anyone can say that.

00:36:21.340 You need to be able to show that you understand how to do it to begin with.

00:36:27.500 If you don't understand how you're going to do it, then you're not going to be able to

00:36:30.440 do it.

00:36:32.700 And this is one of the things I like about Vivek Ramaswamy.

00:36:36.760 And there's still a lot, you know, my, I like a lot of what he says.

00:36:41.320 He appears to be very competent.

00:36:42.920 I agree with much of what he says.

00:36:45.040 If I have one complaint about him, it's just that he's kind of, and this is, you know,

00:36:48.860 this, maybe this is holding against him the fact that he's not a career politician, which

00:36:53.940 is unfair, but he did sort of come out of nowhere.

00:36:56.120 And so there are a lot of questions about like, where did this guy come from?

00:36:58.460 What was he doing before this?

00:36:59.400 What were his views on all these issues, say, three or four years ago?

00:37:03.280 I mean, all these are important questions.

00:37:05.360 But as far as what he's saying right now, I like a lot of it.

00:37:08.100 And this is the main thing that I appreciate about him is that he can, in precise detail,

00:37:18.920 explain, here's where the problems come from.

00:37:22.160 And here's what we can do to fix it.

00:37:26.820 And too often, we let Republican politicians get away with making grand sweeping promises

00:37:35.960 that sound really good, but without getting into the nitty gritty and the specifics.

00:37:39.560 And what we found is that that really does matter.

00:37:41.960 This is not just wonky nerd stuff.

00:37:43.980 That really matters.

00:37:45.800 Because when you're in office, if you actually win and you're there, now it's not about grand

00:37:52.000 sweeping promises anymore.

00:37:52.960 It's not about platitudes.

00:37:53.920 Now you're there.

00:37:54.700 Now it's a day-to-day thing.

00:37:55.920 And you have to be able to actually execute.

00:38:00.180 And a lot of what you're going to be doing, a lot of it's kind of like boring behind the

00:38:03.700 scenes.

00:38:04.160 It's not flashy.

00:38:06.200 But you got to love that stuff.

00:38:09.240 And you have to understand it.

00:38:10.980 I think Vivek's one of the guys that appears to fit the bill there.

00:38:16.740 Now let's get to the comment section.

00:38:23.860 Are you tired of waiting ages for your grill to heat up?

00:38:31.040 Now you can say goodbye to those tedious moments of impatiently watching the charcoal burn and

00:38:35.100 say hello to instant barbecue perfection thanks to our new friends at Grill Blazer.

00:38:43.380 to lighting charcoal grills, wood stoves, and outdoor fireplaces.

00:38:47.020 Grill Blazer offers two types of grill guns.

00:38:49.120 They have the Grill Gun Basic, which is a high-power propane torch designed to light charcoal

00:38:54.160 and wood grills and smokers.

00:38:55.740 It burns up to 3,600 degrees.

00:38:57.760 Its 30-inch flame is for anything you need a big, bad torch to do.

00:39:01.120 And then there's the Sous Vide Gun, which has a shorter barrel, perfect for professional

00:39:05.780 culinary kitchen uses, from gently caramelizing brulee, which of course I caramelize brulee

00:39:12.300 all the time, I know all about that, or other sugars and fruits, to rapidly searing steaks

00:39:16.600 outside on the grill.

00:39:17.740 Using the Grill Gun may result in extreme grill envy from your neighbors and increased demands

00:39:21.840 for barbecue parties as well.

00:39:37.440 I will say I feel a little bad about this because actually I lied.

00:39:40.200 I did sort of follow the lady on the plane story a little bit, because how can I not follow

00:39:48.100 a story like that?

00:39:48.940 And all I can say about that, I'm sure this has been said many times already, is that

00:39:52.840 the only thing that jumped out at me about all that, that whole scenario, is that I can't

00:39:59.400 believe that nobody else got up and left the plane.

00:40:01.800 Because I can tell you this, if I'm on a plane and the doors are about to close, and they

00:40:06.840 haven't closed yet, and someone hops up and says that there's some sort of reptilian demon

00:40:10.460 on board, and the guy being accused, as I understand it, doesn't even deny it, I'm not

00:40:17.020 taking any chances.

00:40:17.780 I mean, it's relatively a small chance that it's actually true, but I'm just not, I'm

00:40:23.120 not starting a flight with that, with those kinds of vibes.

00:40:26.100 That's the wrong energy, okay, on the flight to begin with, and so I'm just going to get

00:40:31.760 off and rebook.

00:40:33.800 Like, no trip is worth all that.

00:40:36.260 Okay, so we haven't done any shows in a while, of course, so there are no show comments to

00:40:40.080 talk about.

00:40:40.600 But we did release other content during the break, including the much-anticipated, much-demanded

00:40:47.060 video of me watching anime, and you can go to my YouTube channel right now and check

00:40:51.380 it out.

00:40:51.860 I did watch anime, as promised.

00:40:54.440 That was not one of the big projects either that we were working on.

00:40:57.060 There were some people worried that this is what it was all about.

00:40:59.860 It wasn't quite that, but I did keep my promise, because I keep my promises, despite what you've

00:41:04.820 been told, and despite how brutal and torturous this experience was, I still did it.

00:41:10.180 I watched a season of the anime One Punch Man.

00:41:13.200 Why did we choose that one?

00:41:15.560 Well, because that's, like, many people, I have no idea which anime to watch.

00:41:21.000 I don't think that any, they're all the same, as far as I'm concerned.

00:41:25.700 But this was the, from what I saw in the comments, YouTube, Twitter, everyone's, most people are

00:41:32.100 saying you've got to watch One Punch Man.

00:41:33.200 So that's what we did.

00:41:35.180 Our initial plan, we wanted to do a whole live stream event, but then we discovered

00:41:39.600 that, well, you can't really do that, because we can't, we don't have the, but really, it's

00:41:43.020 just to get into the nitty gritty here, we don't have the copyright authority to actually

00:41:49.640 play these shows, you know, play footage of the episodes, so we can all watch it together.

00:41:55.340 We're not able to do that.

00:41:56.060 So instead, we made a video, and anyway, there's, we have a quick clip of it.

00:42:01.600 Let's watch this.

00:42:23.440 It's been hours.

00:42:26.220 Lost all sense of time.

00:42:27.600 Maybe they'd forgotten about me.

00:42:32.340 What if everyone left, and I'm doomed to sit here for an eternity, watching entertainment

00:42:36.920 for the most tasteless audience in history?

00:42:43.040 No, don't look at the time.

00:42:45.640 It's a distraction.

00:42:48.280 In at least four hours, maybe five, just hold out for a little while longer, then look.

00:42:54.120 We'll be closer to the end of this nightmare.

00:43:01.380 The end credits.

00:43:03.160 Another episode in the bag.

00:43:04.860 Must be near the end of this torture by now.

00:43:07.320 It doesn't make any sense.

00:43:09.520 It's almost over.

00:43:11.240 Okay, look at the time.

00:43:12.340 I can feel my grip on reality straining.

00:43:31.600 Every minute I spend in here, I'm getting weaker, while anime fans get stronger.

00:43:36.000 That I'll gain a deeper understanding of their community if I just watch a season. 0.96

00:43:43.320 That's all bulls**t. 0.94

00:43:46.740 Got to stay strong. 0.99

00:43:49.180 Keep going.

00:43:51.020 Right is becoming left.

00:43:53.520 Bad is becoming good.

00:43:55.340 Trying to break me down.

00:43:56.560 They find my body.

00:43:59.520 I hope they know.

00:44:00.180 I hold on until the very end.

00:44:18.920 Anyway, so there it is.

00:44:20.320 I did it.

00:44:20.820 That's the point.

00:44:21.420 Okay?

00:44:21.700 I just want you to know I did it.

00:44:23.280 And we have some comments from that.

00:44:26.640 This is the video that I'm pulling the comments from.

00:44:29.340 Trollboy says,

00:44:30.720 Matt Walsh gave his backstory and had an inner monologue during the fight.

00:44:33.680 He is more anime than he thinks.

00:44:36.580 I did hear that.

00:44:38.300 That wasn't even an intentional thing.

00:44:39.960 I guess it's just, this is what I was worried about.

00:44:42.540 Is that a piece of me would be lost from watching the anime.

00:44:46.720 And I would somehow become absorbed into this world and this culture.

00:44:50.780 And I think that's sort of what happened.

00:44:54.260 Nathan says,

00:44:56.520 One Punch Man is almost literally a perfect representation of conservative ideals.

00:45:00.660 I didn't see any ideals being represented.

00:45:04.520 I had no idea what was going on the entire time.

00:45:07.720 Maybe that's partly because I watched it in Japanese with no English subtitles.

00:45:11.960 So...

00:45:12.240 No, there were English subtitles, but I just wasn't reading them.

00:45:16.680 Caleb says,

00:45:17.420 I feel like there was two directions to go here.

00:45:19.160 One, make Matt's torture level as high as possible by picking an anime that is very stereotypical.

00:45:23.120 Anime, he most certainly wouldn't like One Punch Man.

00:45:25.960 Two, pick an anime that he actually could have hypothetically enjoyed, like Death Note or Attack on Titan that seemed to be more Matt-type shows.

00:45:32.580 The producers picked the former, which I respect for the comedy purposes of it.

00:45:37.400 And I've heard a lot of this.

00:45:38.280 There's a lot of people say,

00:45:38.860 No, no, One Punch Man was the wrong one to watch.

00:45:40.660 You've got to watch another one.

00:45:41.460 No, no, no, no, no.

00:45:42.340 That's not how this works.

00:45:43.640 I said I'd watch one.

00:45:44.880 And I've done it.

00:45:46.040 And that's it.

00:45:48.360 And don't tell me now that it's the wrong one.

00:45:50.060 This was...

00:45:50.740 Go back and read the comments from the original conversations about this.

00:45:54.920 This is what most people said.

00:45:56.320 So, you know, anime community, if we had the wrong anime, and there's another anime out there that if only I had watched, I would have fallen deeply in love with anime.

00:46:05.060 If that's the case, you have yourself to blame.

00:46:07.060 Because you didn't say that originally.

00:46:09.320 You all said One Punch Man, and that's what we did.

00:46:13.100 And Aaron Tanak says,

00:46:14.860 You've fallen for our trap card, Matt.

00:46:16.300 Nobody hates anime more than anime fans.

00:46:18.720 Okay, well, I guess in that sense, I truly am one of you.

00:46:24.020 We're all in this together, I suppose.

00:46:26.840 Companies are strong-arming their customers to support abortion, canceling customers for their political views, and making a mockery of women by supporting transgender models. 0.67

00:46:34.680 No government agency, institution, or company is allowed to just be what it is and focus on fulfilling the tasks that it was made to fulfill.

00:46:40.600 A beer company can't just make beer anymore.

00:46:42.520 Their primary concern is not with brewing and distributing beer, but with showing their support of the left's political and cultural agenda.

00:46:48.740 That's the way it is now, but Public Square offers a new solution.

00:46:51.600 Public Square is an app and website where you can get connected to tens of thousands of businesses from all different industries that share your value for life, family, and freedom.

00:47:05.960 Imagine that.

00:47:06.880 Whether you're looking for new athletic clothing that knows what a woman is, a banking partner you can count on, or simply a new restaurant in your area that won't lecture you about your political views as you're trying to enjoy a meal, head over to publicsq.com.

00:48:31.140 Now let's get our daily cancellation.

00:48:36.700 Every year, Congress passes a law called the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA.

00:48:42.300 It sets the budget of the U.S. military, which accounts for nearly a trillion dollars in federal spending.

00:48:46.480 Now to put that number in context, after Social Security, Medicare, and benefits like food stamps, these military expenditures constitute the biggest budget item in the entire federal budget.

00:48:55.920 Every year, the government spends far more on equipping the military than it does on, say, transportation infrastructure or stopping fentanyl from flowing into the country.

00:49:05.300 That's how big a deal the NDAA is, in the eyes of our elected leaders anyway.

00:49:09.820 And to put those numbers into perspective again, over the past decade, the United States has spent more money on the military than exists on the planet.

00:49:20.000 In other words, if you were to collect all of the physical currency that exists on Earth, it wouldn't be enough to fund the military for 10 years.

00:49:27.780 In fact, it wouldn't be enough to fund the U.S. government as a whole for even two years.

00:49:31.940 We would get about a year and a half out of all of the money on the planet.

00:49:35.460 So if somebody asks you, how much does our government cost?

00:49:39.680 Well, the answer is all of it.

00:49:41.420 It costs all the money.

00:49:43.700 Given all that, it goes without saying that you'd hope your representatives in Congress would take the process of passing the NDAA seriously.

00:49:50.380 You'd like to think that in Washington, there would be serious discussions about where all this money is going and whether it's actually making us safer before any vote was held on the NDAA.

00:49:59.520 This isn't some resolution honoring a baseball team or whatever.

00:50:02.300 This is the largest military budget of any country on the planet. 1.00

00:50:07.200 But the truth is that we're ruled by deeply unserious and terribly stupid people who are apparently incapable of holding a meaningful debate about any issue at all. 0.98

00:50:16.640 And that was evident if you happened to be tuning into C-SPAN last week when freshman Congressman Eli Crane of Arizona introduced an amendment to the NDAA. 0.99

00:50:25.440 Crane is a former Navy SEAL.

00:50:27.400 He dropped out of college a week after September 11th and he went to join the Navy.

00:50:30.660 Crane's amendment was to prohibit the U.S. military from recruiting or promoting candidates on the basis of their skin color, religious beliefs, or ideology.

00:50:40.380 And if you care about the ability of the U.S. military to do its job, which despite what Mark Milley tells you has nothing to do with transgenderism or white rage,

00:50:48.060 then that seems to like to be, you know, it's a pretty reasonable amendment.

00:50:50.780 But Crane's amendment apparently doesn't matter.

00:50:54.200 It can't even be discussed because while introducing it, he accidentally said a word that the left doesn't like.

00:51:00.940 Watch.

00:51:02.460 Arizona.

00:51:02.980 Well, Mr. Chairman, though, that was unbelievably inspiring.

00:51:08.360 My amendment has nothing to do with whether or not colored people or black people or anybody can serve.

00:51:13.960 Okay?

00:51:14.820 It has nothing to do with color of your skin.

00:51:18.340 Any of that stuff.

00:51:19.760 What we want to preserve and maintain is the fact that our military does not become a social experiment.

00:51:27.680 We want the best of the best.

00:51:29.240 We want to have standards that guide who's in what unit, what they do.

00:51:35.360 And I'm going to tell you guys right now, the Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians, the North Koreans,

00:51:41.060 they are not doing this because they want the strongest military possible.

00:51:46.100 I hope my colleagues on the other side can understand what we're doing.

00:51:50.280 Thank you so much.

00:51:51.520 Mr. Spann.

00:51:52.700 I'd like to be recognized to have the words colored people.

00:51:57.680 For what purpose does the gentlelady seek recognition? 0.98

00:52:00.060 I'd like to be recognized to have the words colored people stricken from the record.

00:52:06.580 I find it offensive and very inappropriate.

00:52:10.180 Is the gentlelady asking for unanimous consent to take down the words?

00:52:17.080 I am asking for unanimous consent to take down the words of referring to me or any of my colleagues as colored people.

00:52:30.100 For what purpose is the gentleman from Arizona?

00:52:31.920 Can I amend my comments to people of color?

00:52:35.920 Gentleman wishes to amend his comments.

00:52:37.700 Is the gentleman asking?

00:52:41.920 Is the gentleman asking?

00:52:43.280 I ask unanimous consent.

00:52:45.660 Mr. Speaker, to have the word stricken.

00:52:48.840 I didn't ask for an amendment.

00:52:50.400 Is there unanimous consent to have the word stricken?

00:52:53.880 Yes.

00:52:54.300 Without objection, so ordered.

00:52:55.460 Without objection, so ordered.

00:52:58.200 Now, there's a lot going on here.

00:53:00.080 None of it terribly encouraging. 1.00

00:53:02.580 All of it very stupid. 0.99

00:53:03.600 The woman who's objecting to Eli Crane's use of the term colored people is Joyce Beattie, a congresswoman from Ohio and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. 1.00

00:53:12.500 The phrase colored people really makes her tummy hurt.

00:53:15.820 And so she rises to demand that it be stricken from the official record.

00:53:19.340 Mr. Speaker, that makes my tummy hurt.

00:53:22.640 We have to pretend it was never said.

00:53:24.840 She doesn't like it, so let's pretend that it was never said.

00:53:26.960 That's the part that I like about this.

00:53:28.020 Let's amend the historical record to erase it because she doesn't like the word.

00:53:34.320 And the Republican, Eli Crane, immediately relents.

00:53:36.300 He proposes to change his comments from colored people to people of color.

00:53:39.500 But, of course, that's no good for Joyce Beattie. 1.00

00:53:42.920 That's not enough.

00:53:44.000 Once you say colored people instead of people of color, you're done. 0.97

00:53:47.360 You're a bigot. 0.96

00:53:48.100 Your word should be erased for all time. 0.96

00:53:50.660 And it's not even, I keep saying that she was offended by the word.

00:53:55.180 That's not even it exactly, okay?

00:53:58.020 Because the words are fine.

00:53:59.880 It's just that Crane put the words in the wrong order.

00:54:03.900 People before color is fine. 1.00

00:54:05.740 Color before people is a hate crime and an atrocity worse than 9-11. 0.64

00:54:09.960 Now, if you have a rudimentary understanding of the English language, this is all very perplexing.

00:54:13.980 In terms of grammar and logic and common sense, there is no difference whatsoever

00:54:19.040 between the terms people of color and colored people.

00:54:22.100 They have the same meaning, which is not white.

00:54:25.960 Like, that's what all that means.

00:54:26.880 The only difference is people of color has a preposition and colored people doesn't. 1.00

00:54:32.040 Now, you often hear the argument that colored people comes from a dark period in this country's

00:54:35.700 history and people of color is a more modern term that's free of all that baggage.

00:54:40.960 But that's not true.

00:54:42.100 The term people of color has been used as far back as 1807, decades before the Civil War

00:54:46.360 began.

00:54:46.720 Congress passed a law that year, 1807, which banned Americans from engaging in the slave

00:54:52.040 trade for, quote, I'm quoting, any Negro, mulatto, or person of color. 0.99

00:54:57.100 Now, let's think about that for a second.

00:54:59.620 You're not allowed to use the term Negro anymore.

00:55:01.740 It's a horribly dated racist term.

00:55:03.780 And you'll lose your job for saying it.

00:55:05.900 You can't say mulatto either.

00:55:07.120 But person of color, well, if you use that word, which is from the same law that used

00:55:11.120 a bunch of other supposedly racist terms in the exact same sentence, then people will

00:55:15.340 know that you're definitely not racist.

00:55:17.660 You're one of the good guys.

00:55:19.720 It's absurd.

00:55:20.720 None of this makes any sense.

00:55:23.160 The reality is that people of color and colored people mean the exact same thing.

00:55:26.360 And you'd think that Congresswoman Joyce Beattie, of all people, would understand that because

00:55:30.840 she's the recipient of something called the NAACP Freedom Award.

00:55:35.120 What's the meaning of the acronym NAACP?

00:55:37.200 Well, as Joyce Beattie knows, I assume, it stands for the National Association for the

00:55:41.880 Advancement of Colored People.

00:55:44.540 But Joyce Beattie has never called on the NAACP to change their name.

00:55:48.300 I actually checked.

00:55:49.280 She's never done that.

00:55:50.000 She's never hectored them from the floor of the House demanding that they change their

00:55:53.180 name to the NAAPOC.

00:55:56.360 Why is that?

00:55:58.560 No one in the media or the Republican Party asked that question.

00:56:01.260 Instead, the Republican Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, called Crane's comments unacceptable.

00:56:06.060 So this was a rare moment of bipartisan consensus in Washington.

00:56:10.400 They could all agree on a bipartisan basis that the words made all their tummies hurt, in fact.

00:56:17.840 And corporate media joined in, as you'd expect.

00:56:20.020 Media outlets united to write articles accusing this Republican congressman and former Navy SEAL

00:56:24.080 of being a racist.

00:56:24.900 NBC News, for example, reported that Representative Eli Crane used a derogatory phrase in describing

00:56:30.420 his proposed amendment to a military bill.

00:56:33.200 The Washington Post ran a similar story.

00:56:35.400 Nevada Congressman Stephen Horsford is the current chair of the Congressional Black Caucus.

00:56:39.580 He echoed the outrage of those media outlets and of the Republican Party.

00:56:43.000 In fact, Horsford went on CNN to demand that Eli Crane apologize directly to Joyce Beattie and

00:56:48.760 all of Congress.

00:56:49.380 Now, Eli Crane had already basically apologized and backtracked and all the rest of it.

00:56:53.520 But was that good enough for Stephen Horsford?

00:56:57.440 Well, let's find out.

00:56:59.400 What that member did, Representative Crane from Arizona, was unbecoming.

00:57:06.880 It was unprofessional.

00:57:08.260 It was insensitive.

00:57:09.100 The word itself has vestiges of racism.

00:57:14.620 For that word to be used on the House floor in 2023 is unconscionable.

00:57:21.660 While he may have publicly acknowledged his error, he still has not personally apologized to the member,

00:57:31.280 Representative Joyce Beattie, that it was directed towards, or the body.

00:57:36.320 And look, Representative Crane and people like Senator Tuberville have proven time and time again

00:57:43.780 why the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion training is actually needed in this moment.

00:57:50.060 At no point in that CNN interview was Stephen Horsford asked to explain why saying people of color is completely fine 1.00

00:57:59.300 while saying color person requires an apology involving the entire U.S. Congress and individual representatives

00:58:05.660 and the whole country.

00:58:07.640 You know, Eli Crane needs to go to each person in the country individually and knock on their door

00:58:13.440 and say, I'm so sorry for saying color people.

00:58:16.840 In fact, you know what I think Eli Crane should do?

00:58:18.980 He should go to the offices, the headquarters of the NAACP and apologize to them.

00:58:25.700 He should apologize to them.

00:58:27.120 I'm so sorry for using the phrase that is in the name of your organization.

00:58:32.900 Now, again, none of this makes any sense, but of course no explanation is needed

00:58:36.080 because we all know what's happening here.

00:58:37.700 Woke rules are intentionally ambiguous and arbitrary.

00:58:40.300 The point is psychological conditioning to get us to obey rules that make no sense.

00:58:44.080 That's why you're told to respect made-up pronouns that are impossible to actually say out loud.

00:58:48.600 It's why the Associated Press tells its reporters to capitalize the B in black, but not the W in white.

00:58:55.600 It's also why a few years ago, the billionaire Starbucks mogul Howard Schultz insisted on being called a person of means

00:59:01.720 and a person of wealth instead of a billionaire.

00:59:03.460 Now, one of the main benefits of these arbitrary rules is that they serve as signaling mechanisms.

00:59:09.620 By constantly creating new and highly arbitrary rules, the left can cast out anyone who isn't up to speed on the latest lingo.

00:59:16.460 Even people they're supposed to care about.

00:59:18.480 Remember that Canadian trucker convoy from last year?

00:59:21.200 You'd think, now based on their political messaging, that liberals would have supported those truckers.

00:59:25.780 They were working class men and women, people with no political power, who decided to make a cross-country trek to the nation's capital to petition their government.

00:59:34.400 They weren't asking for handouts.

00:59:35.760 They weren't violent.

00:59:36.960 They didn't attack anybody.

00:59:38.740 They simply wanted their government to affirm their right to decide what medicines they have to inject into their bodies.

00:59:45.280 Or I should say what chemicals they are injecting into their bodies. 0.96

00:59:48.920 How did leftists respond? 0.98

00:59:50.980 Well, they branded those truckers racists and white supremacists.

00:59:53.460 And they did it in part by pointing out that these truckers didn't grasp the crucial distinction between colored people and people of color.

01:00:01.800 One popular left-wing YouTube host smeared a Romanian truck driver in Ottawa because he didn't use the approved terminology.

01:00:08.620 Watch this clip and notice how depraved it is.

01:00:10.240 Watch.

01:00:11.160 You can't script this any better.

01:00:13.760 Jesse Waters, newly minted as the host of, I think, maybe the 7 o'clock hour.

01:00:19.480 Jesse Waters now has a show daily on Fox.

01:00:22.620 He wanted to prove how not racist the truckers are.

01:00:26.620 So he finds a Freedom Convoy trucker named Saba Vizi and brings him on to prove how not racist the truckers are.

01:00:36.880 And the trucker says, I'm not racist.

01:00:39.600 I have colored friends.

01:00:41.740 Guys, it's it's it's it's beyond parody.

01:00:49.280 Take a look at this.

01:00:50.200 It sounds like like an SNL skit.

01:00:52.700 It was only one guy.

01:00:55.040 So you are not racist.

01:00:58.160 I have all type of friends, colored friends, Spanish, Chinese.

01:01:04.600 You know, they are great people.

01:01:07.960 There is no racism here.

01:01:09.900 Guys, I don't know if he has colored friends.

01:01:14.640 How racist could he really be?

01:01:16.820 It's it's beyond parody.

01:01:19.500 Now, to be fair, he clearly speaks English as a second language.

01:01:24.660 So the use of the word colored could be a language issue.

01:01:29.840 But the optics are absurd.

01:01:35.180 The optics are absurd.

01:01:36.800 Now, the host wasn't alone.

01:01:37.760 The online left went nuts over this clip.

01:01:39.380 They couldn't get enough of it.

01:01:40.960 This clip was their excuse to label a quintessential member of the working class,

01:01:44.220 a trucker who drove thousands of miles to Ottawa to peacefully protest as a hateful bigot who should be discarded.

01:01:49.160 All because he didn't spend four years at, you know, a University of Toronto or something learning the right lingo.

01:01:55.100 He's a Romanian.

01:01:56.300 English is a second language.

01:01:57.540 So let's all laugh at him.

01:01:59.300 This is part of the point of the woke language rules.

01:02:01.320 It's designed precisely to set traps for people like that Canadian trucker.

01:02:06.460 If it works on Republican congressmen, well, that's just a bonus for the left.

01:02:10.640 But what they know is that working class people are not aware of the new language rules.

01:02:16.220 They aren't spending their days keeping up to date on all this stuff.

01:02:19.740 And so they will inevitably run afoul of the rules.

01:02:23.180 That gives the left an excuse to rip them to shreds.

01:02:25.780 And ripping people to shreds, especially normal working class people, is the left's favorite pastime. 0.81

01:02:31.400 So you can say people of color all you want, but don't you dare say colored people. 0.99

01:02:35.040 Those are people of color, but they are not colored.

01:02:38.280 Now, how can a person be of color and yet not colored?

01:02:41.640 Well, who knows?

01:02:42.180 Sometimes you'll hear it claim that people of color is better because it puts people before skin color,

01:02:48.880 thereby reinforcing the humanity of the individual or some such nonsense.

01:02:52.700 But this makes no sense because it's okay to say black people. 1.00

01:02:56.380 Nobody ever says people of black.

01:02:59.260 So a person can be a black person, but not a colored person.

01:03:02.540 But he can be a person of color, but not a person of black.

01:03:06.660 You understand now?

01:03:08.120 No, of course not.

01:03:09.340 But you're not meant to.

01:03:10.060 So the arbitrariness and ambiguity is the point.

01:03:13.240 It's all a mind game.

01:03:14.660 The rules are not supposed to make sense.

01:03:17.080 Which is why the only sensible recourse is to ignore the rules completely and simply say whatever you want.

01:03:23.040 And that is why Joyce Beattie and the rest of the perpetually and randomly offended brigade are all today canceled. 0.98

01:03:30.460 That'll do it for this portion of the show as we move over to the members block.

01:03:32.720 Hope to see you there.

01:03:33.380 If not, talk to you tomorrow.

01:03:34.740 Godspeed.

01:03:40.060 I don't know.

01:03:40.480 I don't know.

01:03:40.660 I don't know.

01:03:41.720 I don't know.

01:03:42.640 Godspeed.

01:03:43.240 I don't know.

01:03:44.520 I don't know that.

01:03:44.620 I don't know.

01:03:45.100 I don't know.

01:03:45.740 I don't know.

01:03:46.000 I don't know.

01:03:47.360 I don't know.

01:03:48.040 I don't know.

01:03:48.900 I don't know.

01:03:49.900 I don't know.

01:03:50.680 You know.

01:03:52.280 I don't know.

01:03:56.800 I don't know.

01:03:57.680 I don't know.

01:03:58.440 I don't know.

01:03:59.480 You know.

01:03:59.500 I don't know.

01:04:02.520 I don't know.

01:04:03.660 I don't know.
