00:01:49.420 And at the time, the idea was to ensure that America would have a stable supply of energy in the event of a natural disaster,

00:01:55.260 or more likely, in the case of a war in the Middle East.

00:01:58.500 The reserve was like a fire extinguisher in a building that read, break glass in case of emergency.

00:02:03.820 It was a last resort to be used only if, somehow, the U.S. could neither generate its own energy nor find oil for reasonable prices overseas.

00:02:12.820 When the Biden administration took control of the federal government a few years ago, all of that changed.

00:02:17.840 For one thing, the Biden administration shut down existing drilling sites and prevented new oil leases from being signed.

00:02:24.580 And then, to add insult to injury, Joe Biden's handlers used the Strategic Reserve to temporarily lower the price of gas in the weeks before the midterm elections.

00:02:40.180 But the Biden administration insisted that, you know, this was necessary because war had broken out in Ukraine.

00:02:58.260 Well, less than two years later, it's clear to everyone that the Biden administration was either lying or totally incompetent, or probably both.

00:03:13.240 This time, it's a war in the Middle East, exactly the kind of conflict that Congress established the Strategic Reserve to deal with in the first place.

00:03:38.200 Instead, both political parties are now calling for U.S. military intervention in the Middle East that would deplete our oil supply even further.

00:06:47.480 The State Department sent not one but two tweets out telling Israel to sign a ceasefire without retaliating in any way for the attack on their homeland.

00:06:55.620 And one of those tweets was from Tony Blinken's account, and both of those tweets were deleted within 24 hours, which really inspires confidence, you know.

00:07:02.560 Then on Monday, to add insult to injury, Joe Biden's account tweeted something about how he's going to ban junk fees charged by airlines and concert venues.

00:07:16.900 Now, this is the laziest possible form of voter engagement, and it's one that Joe Biden's handlers keep coming back to.

00:10:10.300 they ran a truly extraordinary piece explaining how the U.S. military is overrun with so-called skinny fat recruits.

00:10:19.060 One problem the Army faces these days is a high number of skinny fat recruits.

00:10:23.540 These people don't look out of shape, but indeed are because of sedentary lifestyles that have left them with low muscle mass and frail bones and connective tissue.

00:10:32.000 At Fort Moore in Georgia, new soldiers are given calcium supplements to counter a recent uptick in broken feet and bones in the legs,

00:10:41.240 according to several senior soldiers in charge of training.

00:10:45.420 Well, nothing wrong with that, nothing to worry about.

00:10:47.260 We just have Army recruits that need calcium supplements so that their bones don't fracture when they're going for a jog or something.

00:10:55.000 This is the state of the U.S. military, and the reason why we're in this state is, well, there's a lot of reasons for it.

00:11:00.600 One of them is that we're looking at the situation after years of purges in which so-called vaccine skeptics were removed from the service.

00:12:26.780 And in this particular case, Libs of TikTok held a mirror up to Tyler Cherry.

00:12:38.680 So a lot of interesting things happening over at the Department of Interior.

00:12:41.880 But Libs of TikTok posted Tyler Cherry's photo, along with his many deranged social media posts,

00:12:46.480 in which he rants about Russiagades and compares police officers to slave patrols.

00:12:58.460 but at some point, you're allowed to look at somebody and form some common-sense conclusions.

00:16:22.120 And keep in mind that this article bills itself as a news article, not as an opinion piece.

00:16:28.700 But news articles and opinion pieces these days are basically indistinguishable.

00:16:32.980 And that's certainly the case here.

00:16:36.780 The Supreme Court is being asked to weigh a ban on conversion therapy,

00:16:40.100 the practice of trying to change a person's sexual orientation or gender identity,

00:16:43.860 in an appeal that tests the court's appetite for engaging this term

00:16:47.480 in the legal battle between religion and LGBTQ plus rights.

00:16:52.000 Long discredited and already banned for minors in about half of U.S. states,

00:16:57.380 the practice of using treatment to make a gay or lesbian person straight

00:17:00.580 has reemerged as the Supreme Court has become more conservative and receptive to

00:17:04.420 appeals dealing with religious freedom.

00:17:06.760 Opponents say the practice can involve electrical shocks and nausea-inducing drugs,

00:17:11.180 as well as psychoanalysis and counseling.

00:17:13.620 Brian Tingley, a licensed family counselor in Washington State,

00:17:16.340 is challenging the state's ban on the practice for people under 18,

00:17:18.980 claiming it violates his free speech and religious rights.

00:17:21.440 The law, he told the Supreme Court this year,

00:17:23.500 forbids him from speaking, treating his professional license as a license for government censorship.

00:17:27.600 Opponents of the practice say that states have banned it for minors

00:17:30.860 because it increases the risk of depression and suicide for LGBTQ plus young people.

00:17:35.560 Washington's law doesn't apply to churches or religious groups,

00:17:37.920 only to therapists who are licensed and regulated by the state.

00:17:42.840 Okay, a couple, just a few points.

00:17:44.600 First of all, nobody is trying to give gay people electrical shocks to make them not gay anymore.

00:17:51.920 Anytime the conversation of a conversion therapy comes up,

00:17:54.520 this is what they talk about, you know,

00:17:57.180 this is what they want you to imagine is some gay person strapped to a gurney,

00:18:01.760 you know, being electrically shocked in the temples or something.

00:18:08.460 It's just not happening.

00:18:12.100 If you look it up, you'll find alleged examples of this kind of thing

00:18:19.020 The first case that popped up for me when I was looking this up is from 50 years ago

00:18:23.600 where a gay man says that he was subjected to electrical shocks

00:18:27.040 as part of some kind of experiment by a university psychology department,

00:18:31.660 which has nothing to do with modern so-called conversion therapy anyway.

00:18:39.300 And if this is evidence of anything,

00:18:41.520 it's evidence that the psychology field has always been full of quacks

00:18:45.780 who like to try out their weird theories on patients who don't know any better.

00:18:51.020 Also, this is 50 years ago when they were giving people electric shocks for like everything.

00:18:55.640 Okay, this is, I mean, again, if you want to use this as a criticism of

00:18:59.600 the psychological industry, then go ahead.

00:19:03.160 But yeah, there was a time when they would give you a shot.

00:19:05.000 They thought that electrical shocks cured everything.

00:19:06.700 It was a dark time in the psychology field.

00:19:11.920 And in fact, it's still a dark time in the psychology field, but for different reasons.

00:19:15.380 The point is that nobody today is trying to give electric shocks or even drugs.

00:19:20.900 Okay, in almost every case, when we hear about so-called conversion therapy,

00:19:25.020 it is a case where somebody with a same-sex attraction

00:19:28.900 goes to a therapist or to a counselor to help them overcome that attraction.

00:19:34.220 Like they're looking for counseling, for therapy to help them overcome this attraction

00:19:40.260 that is troubling them and that they don't want.

00:19:43.840 They don't, you know, they don't want to have the same-sex attraction, but they do.

00:19:48.340 And they're looking for help.

00:19:49.600 And why shouldn't people have the right to seek that kind of help if they want it?

00:19:56.080 To use language that the left is familiar with, if somebody desires to be straight,

00:20:00.920 then why shouldn't we affirm that desire?

00:20:06.380 Why shouldn't they receive affirmative care in that context?

00:20:11.480 I mean, that's their lived experience, right?

00:20:14.540 Their truth is that they want to be straight.

00:20:17.520 Who are you to, who the hell are you to tell someone else what they can or should want?

00:20:23.000 Who are you to come in between a patient and his medical provider?

00:20:28.880 You know, this therapist who's suing in Washington State, and he has clients,

00:20:35.980 who are you to, who's, how can Washington State come in between the client and the therapist?

00:20:41.260 Now, the argument from the other side, well, there is no argument, really.

00:20:46.880 I mean, these people are just shameless, soulless, hypocritical con artists

00:20:51.280 who will say whatever they need to say in any given situation.

00:20:54.860 So you can't really use their own arguments against them, as I've just done,

00:20:58.820 because their arguments are not real arguments.

00:21:03.380 But to the extent that we can use a word like argument,

00:21:09.080 the argument from the other side is that sexual orientation is immutable and unchangeable.

00:21:25.680 We know that a person's sexual preferences and tastes

00:21:29.780 can absolutely be affected by all manner of things.

00:21:34.920 Trauma, abuse, exposure to pornography from a young age.

00:21:39.380 Many things can impact a person's sexual preferences.

00:21:42.120 I mean, this is not really disputed by any serious person.

00:21:45.540 There is no gay gene, no matter how hard they look for one.

00:21:50.100 And the idea that people are born gay has always been incoherent,

00:21:53.820 because, you know, if people are born gay, like born gay, you're gay from birth, right?

00:21:59.140 Maybe that's what that would mean.

00:22:01.360 And then that means that there are, what, homosexual infants out there?

00:22:06.800 Again, no sane person thinks that.

00:22:09.700 So there's no reason why a person can't seek and receive successful counseling

00:22:18.240 But as we talked about yesterday, the real point is that by the left's own logic,

00:22:32.960 You know, if sex can change, then obviously sexual orientation can change.

00:22:39.720 Because how your sexual orientation is defined depends entirely on what your sex is.

00:22:46.740 So if I just say that someone is gay, someone, you don't know who, someone is gay,

00:22:57.360 you don't know based on that description, you know, whether that person is male or female.

00:23:06.440 So if someone is attracted to women and then changes his sex to be a woman and is still attracted to women

00:23:16.780 after that change, then he has gone from straight to gay by the left's own testimony.

00:23:22.980 Now, we know that he can't really change his sex and that once he becomes a woman, he's still a man.

00:23:27.680 But if it's true that he changed his sex, which they tell us that it is,
