00:02:58.780 Now, fast forward a century to the post-COVID era, and as you've probably noticed, the exact opposite happened.

00:03:04.760 Instead of moving on, elected officials have opted to indefinitely extend COVID policies wherever possible.

00:03:14.380 But some of these efforts are not so obvious.

00:03:16.860 In fact, they've gotten basically no major media coverage whatsoever, with few exceptions, even though they could affect your children in profound ways.

00:03:25.720 In particular, with COVID as the pretext initially, there's now a large-scale effort underway to transform schools into mini hospitals, all for the benefit of a handful of startups that are funded out of Silicon Valley.

00:03:39.660 Now, you thought the point of school was to provide an education for your child, but that's not the case anymore.

00:03:45.260 It hasn't been the case for a long time, really.

00:03:46.800 Now, the point is to turn students into patients in order to enrich investors in California.

00:03:54.000 School is now supposedly a one-stop shop for all your children's educational and medical and psychiatric needs.

00:04:02.520 According to research from the Kaiser Family Foundation, prior to COVID, there were, quote,

00:04:06.300 essentially zero telehealth appointments for mental health and substance-related issues.

00:04:10.980 You could look throughout the entire country, and you'd find that it's just not something that was done.

00:04:16.800 But beginning around March of 2021, everything changed.

00:04:20.360 And that year, telehealth technology exploded in popularity.

00:04:24.220 It was used for more than one-third of all outpatient visits for these symptoms.

00:04:29.660 And telehealth then went from something that basically no one used to something that more than 33% of patients nationwide were participating in.

00:04:37.440 And nothing like that kind of shift has ever happened before.

00:04:40.820 Many of these new patients were students in grades K through 12.

00:04:44.280 And as the Associated Press reports this week, quote,

00:04:46.800 Now at least 16 of the 20 largest U.S. public school districts are offering online therapy sessions to reach millions of students.

00:04:54.940 In those districts alone, schools have signed provider contracts worth more than $70 million.

00:05:01.540 Have you heard about that?

00:05:03.020 Unless you read the AP, probably not.

00:05:05.580 And you were never asked to vote on that.

00:05:07.540 You were never asked to vote on whether schools will become also places where therapy is conducted for tens of millions of dollars.

00:05:15.420 It just happened, whether you like it or not.

00:05:18.380 One of the largest telehealth providers in schools today is called Hazel Health.

00:05:22.760 They're active in more than 150 school districts across 15 states.

00:05:26.160 And just this year, the AP reports, Hazel signed a $24 million contract with Los Angeles County to provide teletherapy to more than a million students.

00:05:35.440 Hazel has also signed lucrative deals in Hawaii, Nevada, Florida, Texas, Washington, Georgia.

00:05:40.760 A lot of taxpayer money is being spent all of a sudden on in-school therapy for kids.

00:05:47.720 So that's tens of millions more dollars spent by the school system to go along with the billions that it already wastes.

00:05:55.340 But the bigger issue, beyond the cost of all this, is that schools should not be handling any of this in the first place.

00:06:04.940 This is maybe the most egregious example of mission creep in modern history.

00:06:09.380 Like, it should go without saying that schools are not hospitals, and they're certainly not mental health facilities.

00:06:16.800 Outside of dealing with minor injuries, which school nurses can handle and have always been able to handle,

00:06:22.320 schools should not be offering full-service medical care, least of all psychiatric care.

00:06:27.180 They certainly shouldn't be promoting mental health treatments via the Internet.

00:06:30.900 Now, this is the biggest problem, and the thing we should all be stopping to think about.

00:06:36.420 Why are schools spending tens of millions of dollars to offer therapy to kids?

00:06:41.900 Now, it used to be, like back in my day, back in the dark ages,

00:06:45.920 that the school guidance counselor was really just like the school's version of an HR rep for students.

00:06:52.400 So you'd talk to the guidance counselor if you had some kind of issue with another student or a teacher or whatever.

00:06:58.000 And most of the time, she would give you a sticker or a coloring book and send you on your way.

00:07:04.920 So the guidance counselor's role was relatively narrow in that way.

00:07:08.880 But now, increasingly, schools are taking it upon themselves to play shrink.

00:07:13.320 They're referring children to Zoom calls with anonymous doctors for talk therapy.

00:07:19.500 And parents have no idea what exactly is being said in these sessions.

00:07:22.520 It's true that parents have to consent to these telehealth providers seeing their children to begin with.

00:07:28.000 But beyond that, the whole point of the practice is that parents don't have to come and get their kids.

00:07:33.140 Parents can stay at work.

00:07:34.800 They can stay at their job.

00:07:36.020 And meanwhile, a telehealth provider is free to, say, affirm a child's gender delusions or misdiagnose a serious illness.

00:07:46.060 Now, there are a lot of issues here.

00:07:47.400 And one, and not even the biggest one, is the quality of care that kids will receive.

00:07:53.500 Time magazine looked into this back in November of 2022.

00:07:56.500 And they reported at the time that, quote,

00:07:58.560 Time interviewed six mental health professionals who formerly worked for telepsych or substance treatment startups,

00:08:04.080 some of whom asked to remain anonymous because they still work in mental health care.

00:08:08.340 Regardless of their employer, they had similar complaints.

00:08:11.080 Appointments were too short to properly treat and assess patients.

00:08:14.160 Clinicians were overworked.

00:08:15.640 And policies around prescribing drugs and treating complex cases often weren't rigorous enough.

00:08:21.620 Time also reported that, quote,

00:08:23.140 Federal investigators are probing prescription practices at Dunn & Cerebral,

00:08:27.040 a popular startup that offers virtual therapy and medication management for depression, anxiety, insomnia, ADHD,

00:08:33.980 bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders for as little as $99 per month,

00:08:38.000 and that some former employees have said overprescribed stimulants for ADHD.

00:08:43.140 In May, pharmacy giants including CVS and Walmart stopped filling controlled substance prescriptions

00:08:48.320 from Cerebral and Dunn clinicians.

00:08:51.760 Now, for its part, the Wall Street Journal found that, quote,

00:08:54.080 Dunn, run by a former Facebook product manager with no medical training,

00:08:57.740 also advertises heavily on social media.

00:09:00.140 Dunn's clinicians continue to prescribe stimulants sometimes after appointments as short as 10 minutes.

00:09:05.040 So, more broadly, when people go to telehealth providers, they're often being misdiagnosed.

00:09:11.420 Researchers at the Mayo Clinic looked at around 2,400 patients who underwent a video telehealth consultation

00:09:16.820 followed by an in-person visit for the same problem.

00:09:20.660 And they found that in 13% of cases, the diagnosis didn't match up.

00:09:25.380 So they're being told one thing from the telehealth provider

00:09:28.040 and then something entirely different from the person they actually saw in person.

00:09:32.460 And that might not seem like a lot, 13%.

00:09:34.420 And indeed, the Mayo Clinic touts this as a positive number.

00:09:38.840 But it's not positive.

00:09:40.000 It means that out of just 2,400 people, more than 300 of them were misdiagnosed.

00:09:46.120 And that, it would seem to me, is obviously a major problem.

00:09:50.480 Now, it's no secret why these businesses have appeared out of nowhere

00:09:53.580 and immediately acquired an enormous amount of funding.

00:09:56.460 Part of it is that it's true that children and young adults are experiencing extraordinarily high levels

00:10:02.660 of mental distress in this country.

00:10:04.460 This year alone, more than 60% of teenage girls reported feeling persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness.

00:10:11.000 The director of the CDC's school health division, Kathleen Ethier, said that in 30 years of collecting data

00:10:16.700 on depression among young people, quote,

00:10:18.600 we've never seen this kind of devastating, consistent findings.

00:10:22.280 When you look at the long-term data, you can see why the CDC is saying that.

00:10:27.080 According to a recent report in Education Week, CDC data shows that, quote,

00:10:30.360 42% of high school students in 2021 reported feeling so sad or hopeless

00:10:34.440 for at least two consecutive weeks in the previous year

00:10:37.440 that they stopped engaging in their usual activities, up from 26% in 2009.

00:10:43.920 And those are, like, shocking numbers, in fact.

00:10:47.900 And it means that, yes, children are more depressed than they've been in a long time, probably ever.

00:10:54.040 And now they're being treated with a brand new form of telehealth talk therapy,

00:10:58.340 therapy offered in school.

00:11:00.320 Even though there's very little evidence that talk therapy in general

00:11:03.380 actually accomplishes anything.

00:11:05.700 Just this year, the New York Times reported that a recent meta-analysis found that, quote,

00:11:09.320 more than half of the patients receiving therapy for depression,

00:11:12.300 that is, talk therapy, had little or no benefit.

00:11:15.340 A 2022 paper out of Germany, meanwhile, determined that, quote,

00:11:18.840 after more than half a century of research and millions of invested funds,

00:11:22.560 the positive impact of therapy and medication was, quote, limited.

00:11:26.640 Now, in other words, a lot of people relied on therapy to fix their problems,

00:11:30.860 and therapy did absolutely nothing for them.

00:11:34.240 In fact, especially if they were counting on this therapy to fix their issues,

00:11:37.400 and it didn't, it may have then had the effect of making their mental problems even worse.

00:11:42.660 So that is the very thin evidence that supports in-person talk therapy.

00:11:47.480 The evidence supporting Zoom therapy is even more scant,

00:11:51.760 to the point where there's really no reason to think that it helps at all.

00:11:55.800 So this is another area where we are essentially conducting psychological experiments on children.

00:12:02.940 We're saying, hey, let's see what happens when we have kids sit in therapy sessions with some random person over Zoom.

00:12:09.020 Maybe it'll help them.

00:12:10.620 Maybe it'll screw them up even more.

00:12:12.580 Let's find out.

00:12:14.280 There's a lot of that kind of thing going around.

00:12:17.100 And across the country, many school districts and many parents are allowing this to take place.

00:12:20.600 And they're doing it ostensibly because of this widely reported mental health crisis with our kids.

00:12:24.860 But the problem is that there's a lot of confusion about the cause of this crisis.

00:12:32.740 And usually the problem is blamed on this epidemic of bullying that you hear about.

00:12:37.360 I mentioned the AP article about the, as they put it, booming business of online therapy,

00:12:42.480 which schools are now turning to and spending tens of millions of dollars on.

00:12:46.200 And that article starts with an anecdote about a young girl who was bullied in school and called, quote, fat and ugly. 0.79

00:12:53.560 And so she's now in online therapy with whatever therapist her school connected her with.

00:12:59.200 And the obvious implication is that this is why we need our schools to increasingly provide psychiatric care to kids

00:13:05.500 because, you know, of all the bullying that goes on.

00:13:08.800 But the thing is that kids have always been bullied.

00:13:11.080 I mean, arguably, if you've ever listened to your parents or your grandparents talk about their public school horror stories,

00:13:19.060 bullying used to be considerably worse than it is these days.

00:13:22.960 And back then, kids weren't going to therapy over it.

00:13:26.980 They certainly weren't going to therapy at school.

00:13:29.480 They also generally weren't psychologically devastated by the bullying to the same degree that kids are today.

00:13:36.040 Why? Because it's probably true that kids today are more anxious, more confused, more depressed than they've ever been before.

00:13:45.380 We know that childhood suicide used to be basically unheard of, and now it's a growing epidemic.

00:13:51.420 So something is going on here.

00:13:53.900 There's a major problem.

00:13:55.600 And the schools have come up with all kinds of schemes to allegedly help solve it,

00:13:59.400 which now includes putting millions of kids in therapy during school hours.

00:14:04.080 But it's not helping, and it won't.

00:14:08.080 Because the people addressing the mental health crisis with our kids, they don't understand where it comes from.

00:14:15.320 And a lot of these, in fact, I would say most of these therapists and counselors and psychiatrists

00:14:20.760 who make all this money to diagnose these problems, they also don't understand the problems.

00:14:27.920 They understand the problems even less than you or I do.

00:14:30.340 And here's where the problems come from.

00:14:35.480 What lies behind it, what lies behind this mental health crisis that everyone talks about with our kids,

00:14:40.940 is a deliberate effort to psychologically and spiritually destabilize our children.

00:14:48.960 This is an effort that's been undertaken in large part by the school system itself,

00:14:53.600 which now pretends that it wants to solve the problem that it is actively helping to create.

00:14:58.940 Our children are lost.

00:15:00.480 They're untethered.

00:15:01.320 They are vulnerable.

00:15:02.980 That's why they're so incapable of coping with the kinds of challenges that kids in the past handled relatively easily.

00:15:08.980 It's because of the conditioning they've been subjected to.

00:15:11.720 Kids are indoctrinated into a worldview where reality is uncertain.

00:15:17.380 Truth doesn't exist.

00:15:19.080 Their own biological identity is fluid and subject to change.

00:15:22.400 Their country is evil.

00:15:23.780 Their ancestors were bigoted troglodytes.

00:15:27.380 They're taught to be suspicious of their own families, their own parents.

00:15:31.540 For years, they were told to stay inside, not talk to anyone,

00:15:34.040 because they might spread a virus that had a minuscule chance of causing them any harm whatsoever.

00:15:37.740 If they're white, they're taught to hate their own race.

00:15:41.100 If male, to hate their own sex. 0.98

00:15:43.600 They are severed from all anchors of meaning and purpose.

00:15:47.980 And then we look around and wonder why they're all so depressed.

00:15:51.060 And then we send them to therapists who invariably will enforce the indoctrination

00:15:54.420 that put them in this state of psychological distress in the first place.

00:16:02.300 They're not bothering to refer kids to the psychiatrist's office.

00:16:04.980 Now schools are simply putting iPads in front of children's faces

00:16:09.900 who will, most of the time, affirm every delusion they have.

00:16:15.160 They're doing this, allegedly, to save parents some time, I guess.

00:16:18.320 But in reality, it's about making a few big tech startups a lot of money.
