00:02:12.900 Just a few years ago, Ecuador was among the safest countries in all of Latin America.

00:02:20.800 From 2020 to 2022, the murder rate in Ecuador jumped by nearly 250%.

00:56:43.540 problem significant or otherwise so

00:56:46.460 somewhere along the line we got this

00:57:52.980 2.4% of the general public in order for

00:57:55.160 them to be perfectly represented in any

00:57:56.920 particular industry they need to make up

00:57:58.960 2.4% of that industry and I don't think

00:58:02.920 any serious person would claim that Jewish

00:58:04.660 people are in comparison to the general

00:58:06.820 population underrepresented by percentage in

00:58:10.760 Hollywood now the same is true of black

00:58:12.780 black people blacks are 13% of the population

00:58:16.020 they're also 13% of working actors LGBT

00:58:19.500 people are by last count 7% of the

00:58:22.140 population again it's hard to say exactly

00:58:23.800 how many gays are in Hollywood but it is

00:58:27.500 doubt more than 7% a lot more women are

00:58:50.340 mere representation because if representation

00:58:53.740 means anything this is what it means or

00:58:57.160 should mean so even if I agree that every

00:59:00.340 group should be represented everywhere all

00:59:03.120 that would mean is that the group's

00:59:05.540 distribution in any given industry reflects

00:59:08.220 general population density again the real

00:59:11.980 world can never actually work this way

00:59:13.460 but but this is what representation would

00:59:15.320 mean which means that if only 13% of the

00:59:18.500 characters that you see on screen in any

00:59:20.240 given year are black then black people have

00:59:23.380 been absolutely perfectly represented if

00:59:26.800 only 7% are gay gays have been absolutely

00:59:30.140 perfectly represented if only 2.5% are

00:59:32.760 Jewish Jews have been absolutely perfectly

00:59:35.500 represented if only 50% are women women again

00:59:39.020 absolutely perfectly represented if a large

00:59:43.120 majority are white well then whites have

00:59:45.780 been merely represented not over represented

01:00:47.440 police they only want this kind of representation in

01:00:51.940 certain context right they don't want representation

01:00:55.940 and in reality they don't want representation and

01:00:59.840 whatever they do want they don't really want it

01:01:02.300 everywhere like it's funny you never hear anybody

01:01:05.780 complaining about the fact that the majority of

01:01:07.500 garbage men are white and also almost all of them are

01:01:10.440 male almost none of them are LGBT okay yeah you never
