The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1325 - The City Of Pittsburgh Takes 'The Purge' As An Instruction Manual

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Walsh Show, the city of Pittsburgh has decided that the purge was an

00:00:03.520 instruction manual. They're cutting back on policing to such a drastic extent that they're

00:00:07.080 essentially inviting criminals to do whatever they want. We'll talk about all that today. Also,

00:00:11.160 there's controversy over whether a teenage girl who beat a classmate nearly to death on camera

00:00:15.340 should be charged as an adult. I'll explain why she absolutely should. Plus, every single left 0.99

00:00:19.640 wing hack at the site Deadspin has just been fired. A glorious day for humanity. And a trans 1.00

00:00:24.780 activist writes a lengthy cover story for a prominent media publication arguing that children

00:00:29.240 of any age should be eligible for sex change operations. We'll talk about all that and more

00:00:33.400 today on the Matt Walsh Show.

00:00:59.240 Financial experts thought we were in the clear. While experts anticipated rate cuts,

00:01:03.760 inflation in the United States is still a significant economic concern. Think about it.

00:01:07.140 The U.S. is in a hole by $34 trillion, and yet we keep printing money, which pushes the prices you pay

00:01:13.260 every day even higher. So you can bury your head in the sand or do something about it.

00:01:46.220 your savings from inflation with gold. Text Walsh to 989898 now. Yesterday, I went into some detail

00:01:54.360 about the unfolding crisis in Haiti. The prime minister is stranded in Puerto Rico. The streets

00:01:59.500 are now ruled by a warlord named Barbecue. Police officers are nowhere to be found, even at the

00:02:04.400 country's national prison complex, where the doors are currently wide open. And all this is relevant

00:02:09.040 mainly because for years, leftists have pretended Haiti is salvageable. They didn't do that to simply

00:02:13.660 contradict Donald Trump, although that's a big part of it. Their primary motivation is to transform

00:02:18.000 this country into Haiti. Unchecked, one-way migration is one way to do that. Another way 0.99

00:02:24.420 is to adopt Haiti's approach to policing, which is to say, to stop policing entirely. Beginning last

00:02:30.180 year, criminals in Haiti understood that they could commit crimes with impunity. No one would

00:02:34.480 even attempt to arrest them. As the Human Rights Watch put it in a recent report, quote,

00:02:38.140 there have been no prosecutions or convictions of those responsible for killings, kidnappings,

00:02:42.280 and sexual violence or their supporters since the start of 2023. That's what a total standdown

00:02:48.000 looks like. It was telegraphed, and as expected, anarchy followed. So you have to wonder, especially

00:02:53.500 in the aftermath of BLM and defund the police, how long until something like that happens here?

00:02:59.060 How long until criminals in America understand that they can commit serious crimes and no police

00:03:04.340 officers will even bother to show up? Well, if you follow the news out of Pittsburgh this week,

00:03:08.900 you know that this moment has arrived. It is already here. The city has announced that police

00:03:14.420 officers will simply stop responding to the vast majority of crimes, including burglary and

00:03:19.180 harassment, as long as there's no, quote, in-progress emergency. Additionally, between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m.,

00:03:26.480 as few as 20 police officers will be on duty to cover the entire city of 300,000 people.

00:03:31.720 This is as close to a real-life implementation of the purge as we have yet seen. Watch.

00:03:38.560 Rick, what was the big takeaway today? Yes, Susan, residents of the city will see a major change in

00:03:45.440 the way police respond. They will no longer respond to calls that aren't considered in-progress

00:03:50.580 emergency. That means calls like criminal mischief, theft, harassment, and most burglary alarms will all

00:03:56.480 be handled by an enhanced telephone reporting unit. That means residents will file a police report over

00:04:01.880 the phone. Officers will not respond unless it's an emergency. Also, between the hours of 3 a.m. and

00:04:08.240 7 a.m., there will be no officers at any of the six stations throughout the city. Call boxes that link

00:04:13.640 directly to 911 have been installed for people to use in case of an emergency. And during the overnight

00:04:18.680 shift, there will be as few as 20 officers to cover the entire city. The chief said today the data

00:04:24.720 supports that. Yes, it's enough to cover the entire city in those hours when we have 8 percent of the

00:04:33.600 time people are calling. I'm confident in the decisions that we make that it impacts this bureau

00:04:39.520 and the city in a much better way than we have in the past. Now, the chief also acknowledging today

00:04:46.260 that some of these changes are due to staffing shortages. He's down to 740 officers, well below

00:04:51.600 the 850 they would like to have. Well, don't worry. The enhanced telephone response unit is on the

00:04:59.360 case. And what this means is that if somebody breaks into your house in Pittsburgh and you

00:05:03.000 call 911, they're not going to come. Even if your alarm is going off and your alarm company is notifying

00:05:08.480 the authorities, they don't care. The police chief in Pittsburgh has clarified that for burglaries under

00:05:12.960 this new policy, they need some sort of, quote, second verification in order to ensure that the burglar

00:05:17.940 is on the premises at the moment. And they need to get that before police will even consider driving

00:05:23.580 out to your house. In other words, it's like logging into your bank account. They need two-factor

00:05:27.920 authentication so that they can really be sure. In the bank account case, they want to make sure that

00:05:33.900 it's you. Well, with a burglary, they want two-factor authentication to make sure there's really a

00:05:38.400 burglary going on at the moment when you call. So your alarm counts as one factor. And additional

00:05:44.900 factors, according to the police chief, could include video footage of the burglar in your house.

00:05:49.600 Or it could be a photo of broken glass with the burglar standing around next to it. Perhaps you

00:05:55.280 can get the burglar to pose for a picture holding that day's newspaper. Maybe you could take a quick

00:05:59.940 selfie video with the burglar where he looks at the camera and says, hey, folks, just here burglarizing

00:06:04.820 the home real quick. Sorry for the inconvenience. But outside of situations like that, the Pittsburgh

00:06:09.860 police will just tell you to leave a report with their answering machine. Or I'm sorry,

00:06:14.700 their enhanced telephone response unit. Of course, if the burglar is smart and breaks into your home

00:06:19.820 between the hours of 3 a.m. and 7 a.m., then it probably doesn't matter even if you have the

00:06:24.140 selfie video because there will only be 20 cops in the entire city who can get to you. So the people

00:06:30.640 ransacking your home, they can take their time. This has all been announced publicly by the city of

00:06:36.140 Pittsburgh. Now, you have to wonder why anybody in the city would even bother paying their taxes

00:06:40.240 at this point, especially since the government in Pittsburgh created this problem in the first

00:06:43.920 place. After the George Floyd riots of 2020, the mayor implemented a two-year freeze on all police

00:06:50.180 hiring. Now, that's not an overstatement. The mayor at the time, Bill Peduto, just shut down the

00:06:56.560 police academies. As CBS News reported in 2022, quote, the sound of bagpipes graduating a new police

00:07:02.140 class hasn't been heard in years. And to justify this decision, Peduto appeared on NBC News where,

00:07:08.220 for some reason, he answered questions from a bunch of college students. And listen to what he said.

00:07:14.460 The vice president of the Pittsburgh Fraternal Order of Police voiced concerns in a letter

00:07:19.120 over politicians' lack of support for the police. How do you plan to get the police unit specifically

00:07:24.400 on board for further reforms? I was on the receiving end of one of those letters. And basically,

00:07:36.080 you know, where the emotional level is right now, we're all, and I don't mean that as elected

00:07:43.800 officials, just all of us as a nation, are in a fight or flight mode. And when you're in that type of

00:07:50.720 road, long-term rational thought is not always at the forefront. To be a part of that discussion

00:07:57.760 requires being a partner in recognizing that that change is inevitable, that we are at a point now

00:08:05.460 in this country where it is going to occur. And would you like to be a part of that discussion of

00:08:11.660 how it occurs? Or would you rather protest it and try and stop? The train's already left the station.

00:08:19.140 There is no going back at this point. And it's only a question of what that reform will end up

00:08:26.740 looking like for cities all across this country.

00:08:31.620 So it's an amazing clip to watch in retrospect. The mayor tells this random college student that

00:08:37.560 emotions are very high post-George Floyd. He recognizes that everybody is not exactly thinking

00:08:41.760 rationally, but instead of suggesting that maybe it's a bad idea to shut down police academies,

00:08:45.960 he basically issues a threat. He says that police reform, by which he means gutting the police

00:08:49.920 department, these are going to happen one way or another. And the only thing the police union can do

00:08:55.680 is get on board to minimize the damage on the road to creating this utopia in Pittsburgh. And four

00:09:01.820 years later, we see exactly what that utopia looks like. If you listen to officials in Pittsburgh,

00:09:07.740 they'll offer another excuse for the breakdown of law and order in their city. They'll say that

00:09:11.420 they simply can't afford police officers. And that's really what is behind all this. They'll

00:09:15.980 tell you that tax revenues are down because post-COVID, a lot of downtown office spaces

00:09:20.840 are vacant and the value of the buildings have plummeted. And that's true to an extent. The

00:09:27.180 city has been taking in less revenue because of block down policies, which were implemented by the

00:09:31.300 city of Pittsburgh, pretty much every other major city as well. But as an explanation for why there

00:09:37.500 are no police in Pittsburgh, it doesn't make any sense. Now, you could take one look at Pittsburgh's

00:09:42.820 budget and come to the conclusion that there's a lot of waste that could be trimmed in order to put

00:09:47.140 more officers on the street. For example, let's take a look at Pittsburgh's fiscal year 2022 operating

00:09:52.860 budget. And I'm no financial expert, but I can take a look at this. It doesn't take me long

00:09:58.800 to pinpoint areas that could be cut so you could have more cops. So there's more than $700,000

00:10:05.840 budgeted for salaries for something called the Office of Equity. In all, the office's budget

00:10:12.200 exceeds a million dollars a year. Among other things, that taxpayer money is used to pay an

00:10:17.580 executive director for the Gender Equity Commission, who makes $76,000 a year. It includes a chief equity

00:10:24.280 officer making $120,000 a year. It also includes unspecified money for immigration engagement. So when

00:10:31.140 people arrive in Pittsburgh from, say, Haiti, they know where to file for welfare benefits. And by the 0.91

00:10:35.780 way, it's not just the Office of Equity at Pittsburgh that employs equity officers.

00:10:40.100 The Office of the City Clerk also has an equity, diversity, and inclusion policy analyst who

00:10:45.560 makes something like $662,000 a year. There's also millions of dollars for the Office of City

00:10:50.880 Planning, including hundreds of thousands of dollars devoted to saving the climates.

00:10:55.600 And that includes tens of thousands of dollars for so-called climate resilience analysts,

00:10:59.840 like this woman. Watch. 0.89

00:11:05.620 Hello, my name is Sarah Yeager. I'm the resilience analyst with the City of Pittsburgh in the Office

00:11:11.200 of Sustainability and Resilience within the Department of City Planning. The City of Pittsburgh

00:11:16.500 recently compiled a greenhouse gas inventory that takes a look at all emissions throughout the 55

00:11:22.440 square miles of the city of Pittsburgh. Through that profile, we found that about 82 percent of our

00:11:28.360 emissions come from buildings and the use of energy within buildings. 17 to 18 percent is through

00:11:35.000 transportation emissions, and then 1 to 2 percent comes from our waste. The data collected through

00:11:41.640 this emissions profile was compiled to give us a snapshot look at what is happening within the city,

00:11:47.880 but then it's also used to develop goals and actions as we look towards mitigating climate change.

00:11:54.600 Now, that video is from a few years ago, and not to spoil anything at all, but

00:11:58.360 the City of Pittsburgh's Climate Action Plan has not done anything to address alleged climate change in

00:12:04.280 any way. In fact, the climate is still changing. Climates change all the time, and there's not a single

00:12:10.040 thing that Pittsburgh could do about it. And we know that because even if you removed the entire City of

00:12:14.760 Pittsburgh from the planet, which, as a Baltimore Ravens fan, I wouldn't object to, nothing about

00:12:20.440 the climate would change. Even using the most unhinged eco-nutcase model, you can find there

00:12:25.800 is no conceivable way that the City of Pittsburgh can address climate change. The City of Pittsburgh

00:12:30.200 cannot do anything to change the weather. But they hired useless employees like this person anyway 0.98

00:12:35.640 to categorize all of Pittsburgh's various greenhouse gas emissions. Apparently, that was more important 0.94

00:12:41.560 than hiring police officers in a city that's down to fewer than two dozen cops in the middle of the

00:12:46.040 night. And this is just scratching the surface. Pittsburgh also has an LGBTQIA plus commission,

00:12:51.800 which was budgeted tens of thousands of dollars a year. That commission has apparently done nothing

00:12:56.280 in three years. According to the outlet Public Source, quote, Pittsburgh's LGBTQIA plus commission,

00:13:01.720 created in 2020 by former Mayor Bill Peduto, started with the promise of action on behalf of the

00:13:06.520 queer community of Pittsburgh. Three years later, external displays of action have been on the sparse

00:13:11.000 side, even at the admission of some of its members. While some fruitful conversations have been held

00:13:15.720 to advocate for the LGBTQ plus community within the city, and the commission has made strides in

00:13:20.760 developing its internal structure, the commission's 20 meetings thus far have lacked public engagement,

00:13:25.960 and it hasn't conducted a single study." So this is a commission that literally does nothing. It just sits

00:13:34.840 there and does nothing and gets paid. This is a commission that was established around the time

00:13:39.080 that the police academies were closed. And it's all completely dysfunctional. They've wasted all that

00:13:44.280 time and money. It goes without saying that the city could shut all of these equity initiatives down

00:13:49.960 without causing any harm to any resident of the city of Pittsburgh. And if they had done that,

00:13:55.240 they could have saved millions of dollars over the past three years. And when you're down to 20 police

00:14:00.120 officers, millions of dollars is a lot of money. It could double the size of your police force,

00:14:04.680 if not triple it. But instead of cutting all this garbage, the leaders of Pittsburgh chose to cut 0.97

00:14:10.280 policing and to fund equity instead. Now, one of the many ironies here is that equity entails an

00:14:17.240 obsessive concern with safety. Leftists are always telling us that certain groups are unsafe,

00:14:23.160 telling us about how we need to make them feel safer at every opportunity. But they talk about

00:14:28.920 safety all the time, but they always mean safety in some kind of esoteric, ambiguous sense.

00:14:36.840 Because actual, practical, physical safety isn't valued at all by these people. At least not the

00:14:42.840 safety of the average family affected by this kind of insanity. This has gone on for years and major

00:14:48.920 cities have become much more dangerous as a result. It's so bad that Taco Bell just had to close all of

00:14:53.640 their indoor dining facilities in Oakland, which is which is a pretty stark level of civilizational

00:14:59.320 decline when you can't even keep a Taco Bell open. But very soon, Pittsburgh will reach an even deeper

00:15:05.720 level of decay. Residents aren't going to be worried about climate change or LGBTQ justice. Instead, 0.98

00:15:12.680 they'll be worried about their safety in the literal sense. That's because three years after the

00:15:17.480 Pittsburgh's mayor promised reforms, change has finally arrived. And especially between the hours

00:15:25.160 of 3am and 7am, everybody living in Pittsburgh will know exactly what that change looks like.

00:15:32.760 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:16:40.200 haven't talked about it yet, mainly because it's the kind of thing that makes me so angry that I

00:16:45.640 can't really talk about it without saying things that will get me in trouble. So I'll try to control

00:16:50.520 myself here. But this is a New York Post report. A Missouri teenager was left in critical condition

00:16:55.160 after her head repeatedly was bashed into the concrete during a massive off-campus high school

00:17:00.280 brawl that was caught on camera. The fight involving the teenage girl whose identity has

00:17:04.280 not been released broke out around 2.30 p.m. Friday at an intersection just north of Hazelwood

00:17:08.040 High School. Devastating footage of the melee posted online shows two teenage girls starting 0.92

00:17:13.000 to hit each other on a residential road when one pushes the other to the ground and punches her.

00:17:17.400 The victim can be seen trying to push her attacker away as the girl continues to pummel her while 0.98

00:17:21.480 repeatedly calling her a b****, quote unquote. The attacker then straddles her victim and repeatedly 0.89

00:17:25.800 smashes her head into the concrete road as onlookers can be heard yelling, damn. Soon, 0.99

00:17:30.600 the victim can be seen lying motionless on the ground while others continue to fight around her.

00:17:35.480 When the camera eventually turns back around, the victim, seen wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans,

00:17:39.400 appears to twitch. By the time police officers arrived, officers found the girl suffering from a

00:17:45.080 severe head injury. The victim was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

00:17:49.960 Another identified 15-year-old girl was later taken into custody on assault charges.

00:17:53.400 I'm not going to play the video. You can easily find it if you want to.

00:17:58.920 I'll just say a few things about this. First of all,

00:18:03.960 again, what we're seeing in these videos, and this one, one girl on top of the other one,

00:18:14.040 pounding her head into the pavement, this is not what any of us, or at least what most of us,

00:18:21.080 grew up with. Okay? These are not schoolyard fights. And the media reports that they're fights,

00:18:25.880 and even in the report that I just read, we hear brawl, fight, melee. But that's not right,

00:18:32.600 because this is not a fight. Okay? Kids have always fought in school. And that's the problem

00:18:38.200 with calling these things a fight, is that when you hear that, you think, oh, okay, yeah, kids have

00:18:42.280 been fighting for as long as human beings have existed. But that's not this. A fight is one thing.

00:18:49.400 Okay? You're always going to have fights. It's not good, but you're always going to have fights.

00:18:53.080 But this is different. Getting on top of somebody when they're already lying on the ground,

00:18:58.520 and they've been beaten, right? And bashing their head repeatedly into the pavement,

00:19:03.800 that's not a fight. That's attempted murder, is what that is. That's you trying to kill someone.

00:19:09.560 If somebody's on the ground, and we see these videos so often, someone's on the ground, 0.80

00:19:14.520 and you've got the group of thugs all around them, kicking their head, pounding their head 0.58

00:19:18.360 into the pavement, that is an attempt to kill them. You're trying to kill them. You want to inflict 1.00

00:19:24.200 maximum harm, up to and including death. And as I've explained in the past when we've talked about

00:19:31.560 this, not to idolize the past, but that's not how it worked, right? When we were kids growing up,

00:19:40.200 and there were fights in school. Now, sure, sometimes it would get kind of brutal. Many of

00:19:45.400 us have examples we can think of particularly gruesome episodes. But for the most part,

00:19:53.720 the goal was not really to inflict maximum harm on the other person. The goal was performance,

00:19:59.720 really. It was like trying to show off to everybody else that you're tough and you beat this person.

00:20:05.640 And that's all you're trying to do. But there's not any great desire to make this person feel as

00:20:11.000 much pain as you can possibly make them feel. Certainly not any desire to kill them. But that's

00:20:18.360 what we're seeing now. And there really is no difference in the mentality of the girl who

00:20:24.360 committed this assault and the mentality of a school shooter, right? It's the same kind of mentality.

00:20:30.760 It's a total lack of humanity. It's a desire to inflict as much harm as possible just for the

00:20:35.160 sake of it. And yet school shooters get a lot of press, a lot of attention. Although they are still

00:20:44.200 thankfully rare, not as rare as they should be, but it's still a thankfully rare phenomenon to have

00:20:50.200 a school shooting. But this kind of thing that we see in this video, this is common. I mean,

00:20:55.960 this is constant. This is every day now. These totally soulless kids who enjoy hurting other

00:21:02.760 people and want to hurt them as much as they possibly can. And yes, they may not be using a 0.75

00:21:07.240 gun. I mean, sometimes they are, but that may not be the weapon of choice. But it's the same kind of

00:21:13.640 thing. It's the same kind of phenomenon. And it's constant. And we don't recognize this as the same kind

00:21:21.080 of problem, even though it's more pervasive and presents a greater threat because of its greater

00:21:27.160 pervasiveness. And I think we don't recognize that for two reasons. One is that it doesn't help the

00:21:35.240 gun control agenda because oftentimes there aren't guns being used. And the other is that in these kinds

00:21:43.320 of videos, the often unspoken thing that we're not supposed to talk about, especially in the media,

00:21:50.520 although it's true, is that in these kinds of videos, the assailants are almost always,

00:21:55.240 though not always black. And not always, but almost always. If there's a video of somebody lying on the

00:22:02.120 ground and a kid is stomping on that person's head or pounding their head into the pavement, 0.79

00:22:06.680 uh, before you even watch the video, you can guess it, the assailant is probably a black kid and 0.89

00:22:13.000 you'll be right almost always. And we all know that. I mean, it's just a fact. It's a reality. 0.96

00:22:17.680 We all know it. You cannot deny it. You can deny it, but you can't deny it with any credibility.

00:22:24.320 And it does matter because it's the main reason why we aren't having the conversation about this

00:22:30.340 issue that we should be having. Because it's not useful. Again, to the gun control agents,

00:22:36.580 it's not useful to the left. Uh, and then, and then when you factor in the racial element,

00:22:42.420 it's not only not useful, but it brings up all kinds of uncomfortable things for them. They don't

00:22:45.540 want to talk about. So then we can't discuss, um, why is this happening? Why is this so common?

00:22:53.520 What can we do about it? Why are these kids treating each other that way?

00:23:00.620 Why are there other kids? Like, what about everybody else sitting around filming it?

00:23:06.580 You know, you're watching a girl potentially die right in front of you and you're just filming it.

00:23:15.100 You want to have a national conversation about something? It should be about that.

00:23:19.800 Uh, the second point about all this is that, you know, speaking of what can be done about it,

00:23:23.060 the girl, the attacker needs to face severe consequences. And there's a debate now about,

00:23:27.200 well, should she be charged as an adult? Um, of course she should be. And this should be kind of

00:23:33.460 simple, right? If you kill someone or you try to kill someone, or you almost kill someone,

00:23:37.680 you automatically graduate to adult in the eyes of the court. I mean, that's the way it ought to be.

00:23:43.320 It's not the way it often works. And it probably won't work that way in this case, but it should.

00:23:48.320 Uh, if you commit an adult crime, you get an adult punishment. So sure. I mean, we should take into

00:23:54.800 account that somebody as a kid is a juvenile, if they're arrested for like vandalism or something.

00:24:00.280 And that's not to say that vandalism is not a, uh, you know, it cannot be a serious crime in its own

00:24:05.300 right. But, um, you know, if you have a kid arrested for vandalism, graffiti, you know,

00:24:10.880 knocking over somebody's mailbox or whatever, uh, then, then, yeah, I think it makes sense to take

00:24:15.560 into account that they're a kid. Like if I go at the age of 37 and I throw eggs at somebody's house

00:24:21.500 on Halloween, the penalty for me should be pretty serious because I'm 37 years old. Now, if I did

00:24:26.020 it at the age of 17, which I may or may not have done at 17, uh, the penalty should be far less 1.00

00:24:31.220 serious because that's the kind of thing that kids will do because they're young and stupid and 1.00

00:24:35.060 they're not thinking about the consequences. And, um, it's not especially malicious, at least it's 1.00

00:24:41.000 not intended to be. Uh, so there's no reason to turn it into a serious life altering thing after the

00:24:46.240 fact, but serious violent crimes are a different matter and those need to be dealt with in a

00:24:51.820 different way. And the fact is this, the girl who was slamming the other girl's head into the

00:24:56.600 pavement, um, that girl, let's just be honest about it. She, she's not going to become a contributing

00:25:04.440 member of society. Like, it's probably just, you know, check back at, let's say she doesn't go to

00:25:10.420 jail. Check back in 20 years. What's she up to? Is she a brain surgeon now? Is she, uh, what is she 1.00

00:25:17.240 doing? You know, is she a married mother of four and a happy marriage with the same guy and, you know,

00:25:23.400 uh, stay at home mom, almost certainly not. And we all know that, um, she has put herself on a path

00:25:33.020 and that path leads to more crime and more violence. And it just does. And again, everybody

00:25:41.680 knows it. So should we put her back out on the street so that she can walk that path freely and 1.00

00:25:47.120 claim however many victims along the way until she does something so heinous that even our, uh,

00:25:54.440 modern court system with its kid gloves has no choice, but to put her away for good. Like, 1.00

00:25:59.120 is that what we should do? Or should we head it off at the pass and just throw her in prison for a long 0.99

00:26:04.240 time and say, eh, you're 15 or 16 years old, however old she is. You've, you're already trying

00:26:11.560 to beat someone to death with your bare hands. Uh, it's just, that's sorry. You're, you're out. 0.66

00:26:20.960 That's a one strike. You're out and you're done. And we're not going to see you for a long time.

00:26:25.380 You're, you're, we, we cannot have you in society. We just cannot have you.

00:26:29.600 You're the kind of person that it's not fair to ask anyone to be around you.

00:26:33.560 And yeah, it's very sad. It's sad. It is very sad. It's sad. First of all,

00:26:37.060 because of what happened to the victim, but it's also sad thinking about the 15 or 16 year old girl

00:26:42.040 that her whole life is, is she's given up, you know, she's squandered it at such a young age.

00:26:48.880 It's a very sad thing, but, um, we just have to ask ourselves, do we want to heap more sad

00:26:56.580 things on top of the one set? It's like the fact that she is that kind of person and that we have

00:27:00.620 to, we have no choice, but to put her, uh, in a cage, um, for many, many years. And she's not

00:27:07.240 going to see the light of day. Like that's sad, incredibly sad. But if you don't,

00:27:12.600 then you still have this person living this sad life and they're going to create a lot of other

00:27:18.100 very sad situations along the way and just accrue tragedy and more victims and more victims until

00:27:24.940 again, you just have no choice, but to put her somewhere. Um, I don't think, I just don't think

00:27:33.340 that's a choice. And again, it's, it's, you can't, it's not fair to everybody else. Like that girl,

00:27:39.700 I don't want to be around her. I don't want my kids around her. I don't ever want to be near her.

00:27:44.940 I don't want to be around that kind of person. I shouldn't be required to be around them.

00:27:49.240 Not fit for society, not fit. So you're gone. That's the way it has to be.

00:27:57.680 Um, and if we all feel very icky about putting kids in prison, which it is an icky thing,

00:28:06.080 then the real conversation we need to be having is like, how are we creating so many kids

00:28:11.640 that need to go to prison? That's the question.

00:28:18.500 Um, all right, let's get to some good news that we could all use some good news.

00:28:24.140 This from Fox News, the liberal sports blog that smeared a nine-year-old Kansas City Chiefs fan last

00:28:28.720 year has cut its entire staff after being sold by its parent company. Uh, Fox News Digital has

00:28:34.520 confirmed Deadspin went viral in November for an article accusing a child who wore a red and black

00:28:39.180 face paint with a Native American, uh, headdress of wearing black face and, uh, finding a way to 0.83

00:28:45.380 hate black people and the Native Americans at the same time. The nine-year-old boys of Native American 0.98

00:28:48.860 heritage, his parents have filed a defamation lawsuit against Deadspin. And now the entirety of

00:28:53.220 Deadspin's workforce, including the writer who smeared the young football fan, have been forced out.

00:28:57.460 According to a memo sent by Deadspin's former parent company, Geo Media CEO, uh, Jim Spanfeller,

00:29:03.240 he sent an email, said, I have some news to share regarding one of our sites in the Geo Media

00:29:08.380 portfolio. Recently, we were approached by the European firm lineup, publishing, expressing

00:29:13.900 interest in purchasing Deadspin to add to their growing media holdings. After careful consideration,

00:29:18.680 the Geo Media board of directors has decided to accept their offer. Uh, and, uh, then he goes on

00:29:23.740 to explain that everyone's getting fired. Um, and so Deadspin is essentially dead. I feel like

00:29:30.560 Deadspin has died. I feel like we've seen this headline like five different times in the last

00:29:34.620 three months. It keeps on dying. And, uh, every time it brings me more joy than the last, uh, all

00:29:40.200 of its employees have now been fired, which is fantastic news. You know, generally you don't,

00:29:45.000 you don't celebrate people losing their jobs, especially in this economy. But in this case,

00:29:49.580 I couldn't be happier about it. Um, these are really terrible people. This, this public,

00:29:54.900 Deadspin is just awful, awful publication filled with awful people. And, uh, if you, you know,

00:30:01.300 if, if there were one or two good people working there, well, um, this has done you a favor because 0.83

00:30:08.920 like you don't need to be associated with, with that disgusting rag. You can go somewhere else and, 1.00

00:30:13.420 uh, salvage your reputation, but all the rest of them deserved to be fired. It's an awful site

00:30:18.960 staffed by horrible soulless vultures who enjoyed slandering and defaming innocent people to include, 0.99

00:30:25.360 as we saw, random nine-year-olds. And, um, and now they're all, uh, unemployed. And of course, 0.96

00:30:31.920 most deserving of all is Karan J. Phillips, the writer who was responsible for that article attacking

00:30:36.960 the kid. Um, and even though that's, you know, after this news broke, everybody immediately,

00:30:43.220 you know, brought up this, uh, the, the, the defamation of the nine-year-old because it was so

00:30:48.140 egregious and also it's just the most recent egregious thing that Deadspin has done. But it

00:30:53.860 certainly, it's just a long line. This is all they ever did was that sort of thing. Uh, and this

00:31:00.500 particular writer has a long history of writing the most absurd race baiting diatribes you can

00:31:04.360 imagine. And there are dozens of examples, just pulling one at random that I saw somebody reference

00:31:08.660 a couple of years ago, this guy Phillips wrote an article claiming that the NFL, uh, the NFL rules

00:31:14.920 against taunting are racist because taunting is part of black culture or something. And, uh, this

00:31:23.240 is the level of intellect this guy has. Although in that case, I will say that, you know, he, he had

00:31:28.780 company with that take. This is actually, uh, if you go back, I think it was 2021 when this rule went

00:31:34.880 into place about taunting, you know, you're not allowed to taunt. Um, and there were a bunch of

00:31:40.840 articles published. In fact, I saw one, I think it was in USA today, uh, of a writer who said that

00:31:45.540 the rules against taunting was another example of our culture, uh, policing black bodies is the way 1.00

00:31:52.540 it was phrased because they're not allowed to taunt, you know, cause they, there's a certain

00:31:56.940 element of sportsmanship is being enforced. And, but of course, somehow it's racist. And you could tell

00:32:02.760 that this guy, uh, Phillips is a half would anyway, before even reading anything he wrote, just based on

00:32:06.580 the fact that as our producer, Greg pointed out yesterday in his bio, he lists himself as a two

00:32:13.300 time Pulitzer prize nominee. And anytime you see that, if you see somebody listing in their bio as

00:32:21.240 a writer, that they are a Pulitzer prize nominee, then, you know, you're dealing with a pretentious

00:32:27.000 mediocre douche bag because being a Pulitzer prize nominee, it means literally nothing. Anybody can be a

00:32:35.040 nominee. Like all you have to do, this is really it. You can go, there's a certain website you can go

00:32:39.520 to, you go to the link, you pay 75 bucks and you submit your name for consideration. And that's how

00:32:46.220 you become a nominee. So it means that you basically raised your hand and said, I'd like to be

00:32:50.920 considered. And then if you do that, you're a nominee. Um, which also means that even without

00:32:58.300 paying the 75, I can at least call myself a potential Pulitzer prize nominee, you know, I'm

00:33:05.340 not a nominee, but I could be, if I paid the money and if they offered a discount, like half off 75 is

00:33:11.080 a little steep for this. If they offered a discount, you know, if I could get it for 40 bucks, I would.

00:33:16.300 So I'm a, I'm a potential Pulitzer prize nominee. I'm going to put that in my bio. Um, and of course I

00:33:22.900 say all this, but really the jokes on me because, uh, I could, you know, I could totally see the

00:33:28.700 Pulitzer actually being awarded to Coran Phillips. So I make a joke out of the fact that he's calling

00:33:34.500 himself a Pulitzer prize nominee, but it's, it's not like the Pulitzer prize means anything anyway.

00:33:38.980 So, um, you know, I could see him, uh, uh, winning the award for writing an article claiming that

00:33:48.280 gravity is racist or whatever. Uh, so it could happen. Um, but, but still it means nothing.

00:33:57.540 And even so, whether he wins the Pulitzer or not, uh, this dude's going to have trouble finding another

00:34:02.680 job because yeah, I mean, yeah, he, he checks the diversity box and all that. Uh, yes, he's pretty

00:34:09.620 good at engagement bait, but at the same time he got his employer sued and, uh, it doesn't matter how

00:34:16.640 committed your employers are to pretending that they care about diversity. If you're the kind of

00:34:21.720 employee that's going to get, get you get, get me sued as an employer, uh, that's going to cause

00:34:26.280 that is reason enough to pause and reconsider. Okay. You know, we've talked about, uh, granny Madonna

00:34:34.880 and the world tour that she's on right now. Um, and on the one hand, as we've covered, it's pathetic 0.98

00:34:39.500 to see this 65 year old woman trying to gyrate and twerk around on stage. Like she's 25 years old. 1.00

00:34:44.040 She's, she's 40 years older than she acts, which means that even if she was 25 years younger than 0.98

00:34:50.000 she is, she would still be 15 years too old to carry on the way that she does. So it's all rather

00:34:55.440 pathetic, but it has led to some unintentionally, um, entertaining moments. Uh, I think that, that 0.89

00:35:02.960 so, so sort of ironically, this tour, this Madonna tour is maybe the most entertaining one that she's

00:35:10.660 ever done because of these moments. And this week we saw the most entertaining Madonna moment yet.

00:35:15.520 It's a moment that, uh, this time has nothing to do really with her pretending that she's in her

00:35:19.340 twenties. In this case, Madonna stood on stage and noticed that somebody was sitting down in the

00:35:24.800 audience. Uh, and sitting down is apparently not allowed at a Madonna concert. I don't know. So she 0.67

00:35:30.180 gets very offended that the audience member is sitting down and she calls the person out from the

00:35:34.660 stage. And the problem it turns out is that the person was in a wheelchair. Um, so it's a classic, 1.00

00:35:44.080 like Michael Scott moment. And she recovered from it about as awkwardly as you can imagine. So let's

00:35:50.060 watch. There's so much disdain in her voice. Does she, she got hide the disdain she has for this

00:36:19.380 disabled person? Oh, you're one of those. Oh, so glad you're here. Uh, just to be clear,

00:36:25.700 telling a disabled person in a wheelchair to stand is not politically incorrect. It's just incorrect. 1.00

00:36:31.300 It's an incorrect thing to say. And, um, and you know, what I'm wondering is how did Madonna not

00:36:38.440 realize that a wheelchair was a possibility? Has she really never had a person in a wheelchair show up

00:36:43.460 at one of her events before at one of her concerts? Like, how is that even possible? And also, even if

00:36:49.780 the person wasn't disabled, you're 65 years old and you're really judging somebody else for needing to

00:36:55.880 sit down. I find that a little bit hypocritical, especially because by the way, uh, sitting down

00:37:02.060 is the right thing. Um, I mean, you know, in this case they had no choice but to sit down, but

00:37:07.600 my only point is that everybody should be sitting. And I feel very strongly about this.

00:37:11.980 This is a general rule that I believe in deeply that if you're at an event, uh, and I've never

00:37:18.020 been to a Madonna concert, but you know, in general, I've been to many events where there are chairs

00:37:24.480 and everybody has a chair that they paid for, but they're not sitting. And I just believe strongly

00:37:31.000 that if you pay for a chair, if it's at, if it's some kind of event, now, if it's an event where

00:37:34.740 everyone says no chairs, then fine. But if there's a chair and everyone's sitting and you, and you know,

00:37:38.760 or you're supposed to be sitting and you paid for a seat, then everybody should be sitting.

00:37:42.540 So when I go, this really comes up when I go to football games and I'm trying to sit in the seat

00:37:47.480 that I paid for to enjoy the game. And I quite enjoy sitting. Sitting is one of my favorite things

00:37:54.160 to do. Like who doesn't like to sit down? And so I pay the money for the chair and then you get to

00:38:00.100 the football game and everybody in front of you is standing for the entire game, which forces you to

00:38:04.020 stand. And, um, and I find that to be, uh, you know, well, I always felt, I always felt put upon

00:38:11.580 by it. I felt, I felt victimized by it in so many ways. Um, but now I'm realizing that it's also ableist.

00:38:18.440 So, uh, you know, uh, in a way I'm a victim of ableism, which I didn't, which I never thought

00:38:24.500 was possible, but anyway, great moment from Madonna. Let's get to was Walsh wrong.

00:39:41.220 and everything happening in Haiti, which as we discussed again is just a failed state and has

00:39:48.380 totally collapsed and is right now being basically run by a warlord who goes by the nickname barbecue.

00:39:55.940 And, um, not everyone appreciated my comments about Haiti turns out. So a couple of those

00:40:01.860 I watched this and this seriously needs to be fact checked. This is not the reason behind the name

00:40:07.820 barbecue. It was because the guy's mom used to sell barbecue chicken. You can research this. I can't

00:40:13.840 believe Elon Musk would share something like this spreading lies and hate on his own network. Haiti

00:40:17.380 deserves better. Uh, so that's someone kind of, cause, uh, Elon, uh, was kind enough to retweet the,

00:40:23.440 um, the show yesterday in the monologue about, about Elon Musk or about, uh, about barbecue,

00:40:29.060 the warlord. Now, uh, so I guess what I'm being, I'm being accused of, of the lies and hate that

00:40:38.340 this person has been said about are being directed at a violent warlord who is executing random people

00:40:45.480 in the street. And so you're worried that I'm spreading hate towards the violent warlord, which is

00:40:50.080 interesting. Um, I, if, if, if, if you need to believe that barbecue got, that this warlord who,

00:41:00.840 it is a fact that he, now there were, there are reports and claims about cannibalism going on in

00:41:05.980 the street. Uh, you know, that's, that's what some people are reporting. I don't know if it's true or

00:41:11.700 not. Um, but what cannot be denied, what is certainly true is that people are being killed and burned.

00:41:18.980 Uh, in the street, you know, and there, there are plenty of mainstream news reports talking about

00:41:24.740 and about the, the stench of, of, uh, of burning flesh that is made, you know, on top of everything

00:41:31.600 else made these communities unlivable. Um, and so that is where the nickname comes from is this guy's

00:41:41.800 propensity for setting people on fire. But if you need to believe that it's because it's not because

00:41:46.880 of that, you know, he already had the, so maybe what you're saying is that he already happened to

00:41:51.320 have the nickname barbecue because his mom made barbecue chicken, which that doesn't even make

00:41:58.880 any sense. Like, why would that become a nickname for you? Because your mom made barbecue chicken

00:42:04.700 and now everyone's calling you barbecue. That'd make a lot of sense. But if you need to believe that,

00:42:08.740 and then I guess because he had that nickname already, and then he, and then he went on to become a,

00:42:14.000 uh, warlord. And then he said to himself, well, I'm already a warlord and I got this nickname

00:42:18.780 barbecue. Um, you know, what, what, so what's my character? What's my motivation? What should I be

00:42:23.720 doing given the fact that I'm a warlord and I have the nickname, but oh, I could set people on fire.

00:42:27.200 Like maybe you think that that was the genesis of everything. Um, but either way, I think the main

00:42:33.340 point is that this is a violent warlord who sets people on fire and he's basically running Haiti now.

00:42:39.140 Um, I just, I have to disagree with you on some of your comments. Absolutely. Some immigrants come 1.00

00:42:46.460 to take advantage of our goodwill. The majority come to work their asses off, to pick our fruit, 0.95

00:42:50.300 construct our buildings, bake our pizzas, cut our grass, et cetera, et cetera. Please remember that.

00:42:55.220 Uh, first of all, it doesn't matter to me. You know, the, the, the personal motivation of illegal

00:43:02.680 immigrants who come here, I've always said that's not, it doesn't matter. It's not important. 1.00

00:43:09.380 You know, it's, it's not relevant to the issue. And I'm, I'm perfectly willing to believe that

00:43:15.220 many of them come here, uh, because they want to take care of themselves. They want to take care of

00:43:21.720 their family. Now there are plenty of other people who come across with much more sinister motivations,

00:43:28.400 drug traffickers, so on and so forth, human traffickers, criminals of all different types.

00:43:33.540 Um, but am I denying that there are plenty of illegals who sneak across the border because 0.57

00:43:38.580 they want to get a job? They want to find opportunity. They want to provide for the family.

00:43:42.020 But of course, of course that happens. And I've also said many times that if I lived in Haiti

00:43:45.820 myself, I would want to leave and I'd want to come to America because if I'm looking around

00:43:52.560 in the hemisphere, like places nearby, where can I go? Yeah, obviously the United States

00:43:57.780 of America is going to be the, going to be the, the best place to go. Um, and if I could

00:44:03.820 just sneak across and I could sneak my family across and then even, you know, if I make it

00:44:10.980 in, I could be, could take advantage of welfare and everything else. Would I do that? Probably

00:44:15.280 because in this, in this situation, I'm Haitian. I'm not American. I don't care about America's

00:44:21.880 laws and I don't really care that much about the, you know, the, the, the, uh, prosperity

00:44:28.060 and wellbeing of, of America. It's not my country. I'm looking out for myself. I'm looking out for

00:44:32.660 my family. So I understand all that, but, but it doesn't matter. It doesn't make a difference.

00:44:39.060 Yeah. The illegal immigrants have different motivations and different priorities. 1.00

00:44:47.940 But the point is that none of them care. None of them are coming here because they're saying to

00:44:53.460 themselves, I really want to make America a better place. I want to help America become prosperous.

00:44:59.040 That's what I want to do. None of them, 0% of them are coming for that reason, uh, because that's

00:45:04.980 not their priority, but it has to be somebody's priority. It has to be our priority. They can

00:45:11.740 prioritize whatever they want. It doesn't matter. We have to prioritize and our leaders have to

00:45:16.920 prioritize American sovereignty. Yeah. The illegals don't care about that. Of course they don't.

00:45:21.400 We need to care about it. We need to care about our sovereignty. We need to care about the,

00:45:25.560 uh, uh, the, the wellbeing of America and Americans.

00:45:30.880 And what that means is we stop illegals from coming here. And if they come, 1.00

00:45:34.240 we round them up and we ship them off, nothing personal. I don't need to see it as a personal

00:45:37.780 thing. These are all terrible people. And I, that's not necessarily case. It's not anything

00:45:44.960 personal against them. It's just, we need to take care of our country. And that means we cannot have

00:45:51.620 hordes of third world immigrants just coming in whenever they want. And then as much, by the way, 1.00

00:45:56.600 as much as you say, they all come here and work hard. Uh, many of them in fact come here and then

00:46:00.420 hop right on the welfare rolls. That is a fact. It's one of the, it's one of the primary motivations

00:46:04.960 that brings them here. And we cannot have that. We can't have it. Um, and if we allow that to

00:46:12.780 happen and we allow it to happen too much, eventually we become one of the countries.

00:46:19.340 We become a country that is indistinguishable from the countries that these people are all 1.00

00:46:23.100 trying to escape. And that doesn't help anybody. And most importantly, it doesn't help Americans.

00:46:28.520 And the reason why I say that that's most important is because I am an American.

00:46:33.320 And so my priority is my own people and it should be yours as well. 0.76

00:46:38.360 Uh, finally, you're very ignorant about how the USA and France have destroyed Haiti and stolen its 0.94

00:46:42.480 riches. Haiti was once the richest island in the Caribbean. You should start from there. 0.88

00:46:46.540 You're very ignorant about what happened to the former president and why Haiti is now the way it is. 0.90

00:46:50.640 Uh, look, Haiti has been, um, essentially, uh, a, 0.98

00:46:55.320 a disaster zone for like 200 years. And, uh, you know, you could come up with whatever excuse you

00:47:03.180 want and you could talk about the, um, just parade of atrocities that has been visited upon Haiti.

00:47:11.060 Okay. But yeah, you can, you could keep using that as an excuse and then just use it as an excuse

00:47:19.460 in perpetuity. And then Haiti will remain forever. The disaster zone that it has been for two centuries

00:47:25.380 or, you know, Haitians themselves can seek, take control of their own country and build their own

00:47:35.120 country back. Because just like I said about America, like no one is going to prioritize if

00:47:41.100 Americans will not prioritize America and care about America first and foremost, then nobody will. 0.59

00:47:46.220 And then America falls apart. And the same goes for any other country.

00:47:52.520 You need to prioritize your own country and take care of your own country. And if you won't do that,

00:47:58.960 then, then nobody else will. Even with, even with the United States giving out foreign aid to

00:48:05.420 everybody all over and spending billions and billions and billions on foreign aid, you know,

00:48:09.640 even that's not going to be enough. You need to take charge of your own country and, uh,

00:48:15.000 stop falling back on excuses. And if you're not going to do that, like every country needs to be

00:48:19.580 able to stand on its own two feet. And if it won't or can't, then it's just not going to be a country

00:48:23.980 anymore. And, um, you can call it unfair, but it is the way it is. It's the way the world works.

00:48:28.800 And it's the way it always has worked. And it's the way it always will work. And there's no getting

00:49:21.020 Well, I'm not one to demand credit or gratitude from the audience. I realize that so many of you

00:49:25.580 live more difficult lives than mine, and I don't expect you to shower me with admiration. But on rare

00:49:31.340 occasion, I do make a sacrifice so great and embrace a suffering so vast and severe that I do think I

00:49:37.980 deserve a little bit of praise for it. And that is the case today after I, for the sake of doing this

00:49:43.820 segment, just read an epically long New York Magazine article by a trans activist arguing

00:49:49.180 for child sex change operations. And this thing, this article, is over 7,000 words long, which is

00:49:56.680 like two chapters in a moderately sized book. I read the entire thing so that I could tell you about it,

00:50:02.160 even though you may not want to hear about it. But you're going to hear about it now because I

00:50:05.720 didn't read the damn thing for nothing. So this article, which is the new cover story for the 0.86

00:50:10.500 latest edition of New York Magazine, is titled The Right to Change Sex. It's written by a person

00:50:15.120 named Andrea Long Chu. And just for your reference, this is what Andrea Long Chu looks like. You can see

00:50:21.280 the photo. For those listening to the audio podcast, you don't need to go look up the picture.

00:50:25.880 It's exactly what you think when you imagine a trans activist who argues that children of any age

00:50:30.840 should be allowed to get sex change surgeries. And yes, that is his argument. He is arguing,

00:50:36.520 though without presenting any actual arguments, as we'll see, for the sterilization, mutilation,

00:50:40.620 castration, and surgical butchery of children with no age limit. Now, as you can tell in the photo,

00:50:46.000 and as you may have guessed already, Chu himself is a male who identifies as female and has apparently

00:50:52.300 gone through various physical procedures in an effort to attain what, for him, is an inherently

00:50:56.680 unattainable identity. Now he has basically dedicated his life to retroactively justifying

00:51:02.420 what he has done to himself by defending it as a wonderful choice for anyone of any age,

00:51:06.880 no matter how young. But before we get to the article, I just want to set the stage a little

00:51:10.760 bit more here. And I want you to know two other things about our friend Andrea Long Chu, born Andrew

00:51:15.640 Long Chu. You should know that Chu is a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer who has written extensively,

00:51:21.600 and as far as I can tell exclusively, about transgenderism and related topics.

00:51:26.680 And yet, cannot offer an even halfway coherent explanation of his own trans identity or his

00:51:33.380 own discovery of his alleged femaleness. To show you what I mean, I want you to, I want to read to

00:51:37.940 you a brief excerpt from an interview that Chu gave back in 2018 with something called the New York

00:51:43.600 City Trans Oral History Project. During the lengthy conversation, Chu tried to explain how he first

00:51:53.280 came to realize his own supposed womanhood. And here's what he said. I'm going to read it exactly.

00:51:59.100 Okay. Here's what he said. I was, let's see, gender wise, I think, I mean, like, I don't know. I don't

00:52:06.980 have like a sort of Jan Morris, sort of like, whatever. I knew since I was like three kind of

00:52:11.580 thing. It would be nice. Like, I wish I did, but I don't. If I look back now and reinterpret, which like,

00:52:17.180 who knows how true that is. But if I look back now, I have a sort of sense of, I mean, being smart,

00:52:22.660 I don't know, being smart as a teenage boy in like a sort of rural-ish North Carolina at this

00:52:27.880 little Christian school was like, I don't know, being a nerdy boy is a kind of alternative gender 1.00

00:52:32.600 identity, at least when you, when you've got a limited vocabulary with which to think about.

00:52:36.600 And so I think that was like a way of sort of sideways disidentification with masculinity.

00:52:41.620 But I also just, I mean, I loved being around girls. Oh, okay. Well, thanks for clearing that

00:52:49.640 up. Truly, this is a man who makes Joe Biden look downright coherent by comparison. And that is a

00:52:55.240 Pulitzer Prize winning writer and PhD student who cares about nothing but transgenderism and his own

00:53:02.340 transness, and yet cannot speak about it with anything approaching coherence. Now, the next thing to 1.00

00:53:08.360 know, and this is important to understand as we get into Chu's thoughts about children and

00:53:11.960 transgenderism, is that Chu thinks of the transgender identity as something explicitly

00:53:17.140 sexual. The website Redux has a report on Chu several months ago, and it includes this revelation,

00:53:22.760 quote, in 2019, Chu's first book, Females, was published by Verso Press. The thesis of the 94-page

00:53:30.040 screed was that anyone can become female and that being penetrated during sex defines womanhood. 0.98

00:53:35.440 Quote, getting F'd makes you female because F'd is what a female is, Chu writes in the short book, 0.98

00:53:41.620 describing himself as once being a sad, pretentious boy, furious about rape, hopelessly addicted to 0.94

00:53:46.780 pornography. Chu claims that it was his obsession with pornography that led him to begin identifying 0.86

00:53:51.360 as transgender. Quote, almost every night for at least a year before I transitioned, I would wait 0.99

00:53:56.040 until my girlfriend had fallen asleep and I'd slip out of my bed for the bathroom with my phone. 0.94

00:54:00.440 I was going on Tumblr to look at something called sissy porn. I've discovered it by accident 0.99

00:54:04.680 one night scrolling lazily down a pornographic rabbit hole. He continues, quote, pornography is

00:54:10.600 what it feels like when you think you have an object, but really the object has you. It is

00:54:14.760 therefore a quintessential expression of femaleness. Sissy porn did make me trans. At the center of sissy 0.99

00:54:20.680 porn lies the a-hole, a kind of universal vagina through which femaleness can always be accessed. 1.00

00:54:27.080 Okay. Now the fact that porn is a major driving factor behind the trans phenomenon is one of those 1.00

00:54:35.220 things that certain trans activists will say out loud while the rest of them shriek like banshees in 0.94

00:54:40.240 the band that none of us ever say that out loud. Of course, these are two, these are not two separate

00:54:44.500 groups. Often the ones who say it out loud will also do the shrieking if they hear you say the same

00:54:51.240 thing out loud. But it is true. It is true that pornography is a major driving factor behind the

00:54:58.900 trans phenomenon. And it's perhaps the only true thing that this man has ever said in his entire

00:55:03.840 life. So with all that established, we can now turn to the article. And it begins with a long

00:55:07.900 dissertation about the gender studies philosopher Judith Butler, who has been writing and speaking

00:55:13.000 for decades and yet has never said a single thing, an interesting, intelligent, or worthwhile,

00:55:17.440 which isn't to say that she's had no impact. Okay. Judith Butler has indeed had an impact,

00:55:23.020 but culturally speaking, it's similar to the impact that a tumor has on your kidney. And we're

00:55:28.580 not going to bother with Chu's lengthy reflection on Butler's work, except to point out that Butler

00:55:32.320 apparently goes by they pronouns now, which Chu, of course, made sure to respect and which led,

00:55:38.940 as it always does, to incredibly convoluted sentences like this. Writing of Butler, he says,

00:55:45.200 quote, but they continue to treat gender as the mere, as the more promising terrain for political

00:55:51.900 struggle. One suspects that even after all these years, Butler is still afraid of sex. They are not

00:55:58.180 alone. Many trans advocates worry that if they can see the significance of biological sex as opponents

00:56:03.880 of trans rights demands they do, this will thwart their political aims. Well, there are three 1.00

00:56:10.840 different they's referred to in those few sentences. So you have trans activists, their opponents,

00:56:17.400 and then Judith Butler as an individual. And so it's impossible to tell which they corresponds with

00:56:24.260 which group or individual, except by sort of going back through it and reverse engineering the paragraph. 0.87

00:56:30.100 It is totally unintelligible and ridiculous, but unintelligible and ridiculous is, of course, 0.76

00:56:34.640 the whole MO of trans activists, as Chu will go on to demonstrate and has already demonstrated. 0.92

00:56:39.920 A little while later, he correctly identifies a few of the problems that critics have with the

00:56:44.000 concept of gender identity, especially as it pertains to children. He writes, quote,

00:56:48.040 the public increasingly believes that what the kids call gender is really just trouble, depression,

00:56:53.540 anxiety, autism, family dysfunction, peer pressure, or social media, any of which, not to mention the

00:56:58.560 universal awkwardness of puberty itself, are better explanations for why a child might question their

00:57:03.400 identity. Yes, bingo, you got it right. That's exactly right. But Chu never refutes this idea. I

00:57:12.100 mean, he doesn't agree with it. He puts it forward as a false claim. He doesn't even pretend, though,

00:57:17.900 to explain why it's false, which is an interesting strategy, because usually trans activists will make 1.00

00:57:24.160 an absurd straw man out of their critics. And Chu certainly does plenty of that in this piece. But

00:57:28.600 in this particular passage, he's actually given a fair summation of one of the points that his

00:57:34.200 critics make, except that he gives the fair summation and then promptly moves on, never

00:57:40.140 attempting to offer anything resembling a refutation of it. Eventually, he gets around to what appears

00:57:45.680 to be his point, quote, to confront the reality of biological sex is not by definition to swear

00:57:51.240 fealty to that reality. No one knows this better than a child who wishes to have their biological sex 1.00

00:57:56.300 changed. We must be able to defend this desire clearly, directly, and crucially without depending

00:58:01.780 on the idea of gender. So he says that we should not swear fealty to reality, which is certainly the 0.99

00:58:08.020 trans activist mantra. Trans activists oppose reality in principle. That has always been obvious. 0.99

00:58:14.120 It's just that they rarely state the point so frankly. And then he wishes that some children,

00:58:18.280 then he says that some children wish to have their biological sex changed. And he declares that this

00:58:23.260 desire should be defended. But the problem, of course, is that biological sex cannot be changed.

00:58:31.160 It cannot be changed any more than our species can be changed, or the fact that we are three-dimensional

00:58:35.780 beings can be changed. It is a fundamental fact of our reality. But this is another point that

00:58:41.440 Chu never engages with. So he wrote 7,000 words, ostensibly defending the idea that children should be 0.89

00:58:48.040 able to change their sex. But he does not spend even one single sentence, even five words of the 7,000

00:58:55.940 dealing with the fact that sex cannot be changed. That is the number one primary argument against

00:59:04.700 everything that he says about changing sex. Even in particular, his claim that we should allow 0.93

00:59:14.360 children to get sex changes. Even there, there are many arguments we have against that. But the first

00:59:21.520 argument we have against it is that you can't. And he never spends a second, 7,000 words debunking our

00:59:29.880 side, never spends a second on that. Which is pretty amazing. Continuing, he writes, quote, many Americans,

00:59:38.740 though they may not realize it, already enjoy a limited version of the freedom to alter their sexual

00:59:43.240 biology. What is new is the idea that this freedom can be asserted as a universal right by a group of

00:59:49.000 politically disenfranchised as the young. This is why the anti-trans movement is so desperate. It is

00:59:53.900 afraid of what sex might become. We will never be able to defend the rights of transgender kids until 1.00

00:59:58.660 we understand them purely on their own terms. As full members of society who would like to change

01:00:03.620 their sex, it does not matter where this desire comes from. He has not explained how our biological sex

01:00:10.280 can be altered. He doesn't appear to understand what biology is or what sex is. But he is sure that

01:00:16.340 many people have changed or altered their biological sex, sometimes without knowing it. Now, he never

01:00:21.180 offers any clear explanation of this idea, a pattern that you're maybe starting to pick up on. But as best

01:00:26.020 I can tell, this Pulitzer Prize-winning PhD student seems to think that women who take hormones for 0.78

01:00:31.940 fertility treatments are changing their sex. Chu recognizes no distinction between the treatment

01:00:38.460 of a medical condition and the application of synthetic hormones for the purpose of bringing

01:00:43.260 about cosmetic changes in a person to make them appear like the opposite sex. The glaringly obvious 1.00

01:00:49.220 difference between these two applications is apparently still too subtle or nuanced for Mr. Pulitzer to

01:00:54.040 pick up on. And that is far from the dumbest or craziest thing in this article. 0.97

01:00:57.780 Quote, sex is real, so is global warming. To believe in their reality is an indispensable 0.96

01:01:03.100 precondition for making normative claims about them, as we know from climate activism. But the

01:01:07.720 belief that we have a moral duty to accept reality just because it is real is, I think, a fine definition

01:01:13.680 of nihilism. What trans kids are saying is this, the right to change sex that has been enjoyed for 1.00

01:01:19.080 decades by their parents, friends, teachers, coaches, doctors, and representatives, especially if those

01:01:23.320 people are white and affluent, this right belongs to them too. I am speaking here of a universal birth

01:01:28.640 right, the freedom of sex. The freedom consists of two principal rights, the right to change one's 0.63

01:01:33.440 biological sex without appealing to gender and the right to assume a gender that is not determined by

01:01:37.860 one's sexual biology. What does this freedom look like in practice? Let anyone change their sex. 0.64

01:01:44.100 Let anyone change their gender. Let anyone change their sex again. If we are to recognize the right of 1.00

01:01:49.460 trans kids, we will also have to accept that. Like us, they have a right to the hazards of their own 1.00

01:01:54.280 free will. Okay, there's a lot of crazy packed into just a little bit of space there. First, Chu says

01:02:01.180 that we should not accept reality just because it's real. The fact that something is real is no reason

01:02:08.520 to accept that it's real, is what he's saying. So we shouldn't accept that a circle is a circle just

01:02:13.560 because it's a circle. We shouldn't refrain from declaring that it's snowing outside just because it's

01:02:18.360 90 degrees and sunny. We shouldn't let the fact that something is get in the way of us claiming

01:02:25.100 and believing that it isn't. This sort of pathologically confused thinking is, it is indeed

01:02:31.660 irrefutable. It is an irrefutable claim. It's not irrefutable because it's intelligent, rather the

01:02:39.380 opposite. It's irrefutable in the way that all gibberish is irrefutable. Okay, if somebody says that

01:02:45.340 two plus two equals five, okay, well, we can explain why they're wrong. We can show them why

01:02:50.340 they're wrong. But if somebody says that two plus two equals blue, there's no way that is so wrong

01:02:56.700 that we can't even explain. There's no starting point here. There's no ground on which we can sort

01:03:03.460 of meet here and have this conversation. It is gibberish and nonsense, and that's all that can be said

01:03:09.620 about it, which is what we get from these trans activists. And from there, we're told that everybody 0.79

01:03:16.040 has the freedom to choose their own sex. But as already established, there's no attempt to deal 0.95

01:03:20.160 with the unfortunate problem that changing your sex is a physical impossibility. He declares a right 0.90

01:03:25.700 to do something that cannot be done. And then he ascribes that right to children, where he proceeds

01:03:30.940 to dismiss the permanent physical damage inflicted on their bodies as, quote, the hazards of free will.

01:03:36.600 And this is where we see, if it was not already incredibly obvious, that Chu is not only

01:03:42.000 intellectually deluded and unable to explain any of his fundamental claims or engage with any of the 0.93

01:03:46.660 claims of his opponents, he is also a moral monster. He advocates for the sexual butchery of 0.99

01:03:52.760 children, very young children, children of any age, because in his world, children can consent to 0.98

01:04:00.460 anything, apparently, no matter how young they are. And this is a fact with extremely disturbing

01:04:06.220 implications that goes far beyond the trans agenda. And it's also a fact that should prompt 0.99

01:04:10.900 you to keep your own children as far away from this guy as you possibly can. We'll read just one

01:04:16.640 more passage from this lunatic diatribe. It says, quote, if children are too young to consent to 0.95

01:04:23.020 puberty blockers, then they are definitely too young to consent to puberty, which is a drastic

01:04:27.020 biological upheaval in its own right. Yet we let this happen every day and not without casualties.

01:04:31.760 I'm not speaking of suicide. I'm speaking of the many opponents of trans rights who observe with 0.93

01:04:36.300 horror that they too might have transitioned given the chance. So intensely did they hate being teenage

01:04:41.320 girls. I do not know if they regret their biology today. I do suspect they regret that they never got

01:04:47.220 to choose it. Well, except that nobody gets to choose it. Nobody. Andrea Chu did not choose a new 0.73

01:04:56.820 biology when he got his surgery. He has the same biology, the same body, just a damaged version of

01:05:02.880 it. And as for consenting to puberty, that's like asking whether a short man consented to be short

01:05:08.660 or whether a person with two arms consented to not having wings. Of course, the answer is that consent

01:05:14.460 is irrelevant to biology. Your biology is what it is. You did not consent to being human or to being born

01:05:22.420 on earth or to being born in this time period instead of the 1600s or the stone age. You cannot

01:05:28.780 consent to any of that, not just because reality is what it is, but for the even more basic fact that

01:05:34.740 in order for you to consent to anything, there must first be a you to do the consenting. Okay? You must

01:05:41.920 pre-exist any consent that you give to anything. You cannot consent before there is a you to give

01:05:52.120 your consent, which means that the one thing that must exist outside of your sphere of consent

01:05:58.280 is you yourself, the basic inherent reality of you. Now, a lot of other things exist outside of your

01:06:06.280 sphere of consent too. The reality of the Milky Way galaxy, for instance, and about 900 trillion other

01:06:11.700 things or so, but certainly you cannot consent to the basic stuff that makes you you because that has

01:06:21.040 to come first. The trans activist declares the right of self-creation, but he is not a self-created deity

01:06:31.180 no matter how much he wants to be. He cannot create or recreate himself. He can only modify himself.

01:06:38.500 Those modifications can be dramatic, they can be far-reaching, they can be bizarre, they can be quite

01:06:44.340 upsetting to look at, but they are just that, modifications. The basic fact of himself remains

01:06:51.160 and will never change, and any attempt to change it will only ever result in harm and great suffering,

01:07:00.180 especially when it's inflicted on a child who cannot understand any of what we're talking about here.

01:07:06.020 But again, Andrea Chu can't understand it either. The only difference is that the child has an excuse.

01:07:14.180 And that is why Andrea Chu is today canceled. That'll do it for the show today. Thanks for 1.00

01:07:20.500 watching. Thanks for listening. Have a great day. Godspeed.
