The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1503 - Caitlin Clark Bends The Knee To The Left-Wing Racial Narrative

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, in a move that should surprise no one,

00:00:02.680 Caitlin Clark has officially bent the knee to the left-wing racial narrative. 1.00

00:02:32.080 Here's a little case study that they probably won't be teaching

00:02:34.700 anytime soon in business school,

00:02:36.360 even though it's pretty eye-opening.

00:02:38.180 This was by far the best year the WNBA has ever had. 0.99

00:02:42.460 They set an all-time record for total television viewers at 54 million.

00:02:46.100 They set an all-time record for the number of telecasts that reached at least a million viewers.

00:02:50.100 They had their highest total attendance in more than two decades,

00:02:52.680 up roughly 50% from last year.

00:02:55.100 The All-Star game recorded its most fan votes in history at 10 million votes,

00:02:58.700 more than a 500% increase from last year.

00:03:02.100 The Indiana Fever, the team Caitlin Clark plays for,

00:03:04.900 set an all-time single-season record for attendance by a WNBA team.

00:03:08.940 The league saw a 350% year-over-year growth in subscriptions to their paid streaming service.

00:03:14.980 The league had more social media engagement, more sellout crowds,

00:03:18.400 more news coverage, more merchandise sales than ever before.

00:03:22.500 This was the kind of season that WNBA executives never imagined was even possible. 0.74

00:03:28.120 Now, given all these facts,

00:03:30.940 how much money do you think the WNBA made this year? 1.00

00:03:35.220 How much cash did this historic season actually bring in?

00:03:38.440 What kind of profit were they able to reap from all of this success?

00:03:42.760 You might remember that earlier in this year,

00:03:45.420 there were some estimates that maybe things weren't looking all that great.

00:03:50.080 And it turns out that now that the final numbers are in,

00:03:53.680 those estimates were very accurate.

00:03:55.560 In total, according to New York Post,

00:03:56.900 the WNBA lost $40 million this year in its best year on record. 0.68

00:04:03.600 They exceeded pretty much every metric in the book,

00:04:06.160 and they managed to earn negative $40 million.

00:04:11.240 This is a business that has never been profitable in its history,

00:04:14.480 and it's now abundantly clear that nothing can ever change that.

00:04:19.180 I mean, it is a fatally flawed concept

00:04:20.960 because the overwhelming majority of Americans

00:04:22.840 Americans have no interest in watching women play basketball. 1.00

00:04:27.060 Even when record numbers of Americans are interested,

00:04:30.660 it's still not that many.

00:04:33.700 And that's one of the many reasons it was illuminating

00:04:36.040 to read Caitlin Clark's recent front page article in Time magazine,

00:04:39.820 which is something that apparently still exists,

00:04:42.580 and which just named Clark their athlete of the year.

00:04:46.500 And this is an interview that includes

00:04:48.120 probably the single biggest backhanded compliment

00:04:50.940 that's ever been printed in the history of backhanded compliments.

00:04:54.420 And at the same time,

00:04:55.580 it includes Caitlin Clark's official capitulation

00:04:57.680 to the left's anti-white racial narrative,

00:05:00.400 which everyone should have seen coming a long time ago.

00:05:03.060 But here's the part that I'm talking about

00:05:04.500 straight from Time magazine.

00:05:05.640 It says this, quote,

00:05:07.060 Clark is cognizant of the racial underpinnings of her stardom.

00:05:11.280 I want to say I've earned every single thing,

00:05:13.180 but as a white person, there is privilege, says Clark.

00:05:15.560 A lot of those players in the league

00:05:17.000 that have been really good have been black players.

00:05:19.300 This league has kind of been built on them.

00:05:22.140 The more we can appreciate that,

00:05:23.960 highlight that, talk about that,

00:05:25.920 and then continue to have brands and companies

00:05:27.640 invest in those players that have made this league incredible,

00:05:30.480 I think it's very important.

00:05:31.820 I have to continue to try to change that.

00:05:34.240 The more we can elevate black women, 1.00

00:05:36.500 that's going to be a beautiful thing.

00:05:39.740 Okay, two things are happening here.

00:05:41.580 First of all, Clark is crediting black women 0.77

00:05:44.400 for building the WNBA.

00:05:46.720 Without black women, she says, 1.00

00:05:47.940 there is no WNBA, 1.00

00:05:49.100 and she apparently means that as a kind of a compliment,

00:05:51.820 even though in practical terms,

00:05:53.140 it's a bit like praising Bernie Madoff

00:05:55.000 for managing a successful asset management firm,

00:05:57.820 or Elizabeth Holmes for founding Theranos,

00:06:00.660 or Kenneth Lay for running Enron.

00:06:03.300 Normally, when someone creates a business

00:06:04.920 that serves no purpose

00:06:06.160 other than to light people's money on fire,

00:06:08.780 it's not something you praise them for.

00:06:11.120 Okay, so if black women built the WNBA, 1.00

00:06:12.700 they built the least successful professional sports league ever.

00:06:18.200 And also, it's not even true, by the way,

00:06:19.920 the WNBA was built and is still maintained by the NBA.

00:06:23.680 So men built the WNBA. 1.00

00:06:25.900 Without men, the WNBA would not exist. 1.00

00:06:28.880 But Caitlin Clark is coming out

00:06:30.280 and crediting black women for their role 0.92

00:06:31.900 in establishing a league that nobody watches.

00:06:34.800 She says that black women in particular 0.99

00:06:36.240 deserve to be elevated,

00:06:37.660 and it's clear why she's saying this.

00:06:39.460 She's saying this because she is, 1.00

00:06:42.400 I'm sorry to say, a coward. 0.99

00:06:44.880 To protect her endorsement deals 0.84

00:06:46.200 and her good status at the WNBA, 0.99

00:06:47.760 Clark has decided to affirm

00:06:49.020 the single most destructive lie of the generation,

00:06:52.320 which is that white people are inherently indebted 0.97

00:06:54.840 to black people because of their skin color, 0.98

00:06:56.980 and that black people solely on account of their skin color 0.77

00:06:59.380 deserve special treatment at the expense of whites. 0.95

00:07:01.440 That's what she just came out and endorsed.

00:07:04.580 Now, there's no need to explain in any detail

00:07:06.480 how much damage this ideology has caused

00:07:08.480 this country over the past decade.

00:07:11.020 It's led to grave injustices in every single area of life

00:07:14.580 for people of every race and both genders.

00:07:16.920 But more importantly than that, of course,

00:07:18.820 it's wrong as a matter of principle.

00:07:21.200 And most Americans realize it's wrong.

00:07:22.720 That's a big part of the reason Kamala Harris

00:07:24.560 was just defeated.

00:07:25.720 It's why DEI departments are being gutted all over the country,

00:07:29.140 from college campuses to Fortune 500 companies.

00:07:32.220 But Clark is clinging to this ideology,

00:07:34.400 and she's not the only one doing it.

00:07:36.300 And we'll have more on that in a moment.

00:07:37.580 But to be clear, it's not surprising

00:07:40.260 that Clark would come out and say this and bend the knee.

00:07:45.120 A lot of conservatives are kind of acting shocked

00:07:47.300 by this Time Magazine profile,

00:07:49.180 but you should not be shocked by it.

00:07:51.080 Did you actually think she wouldn't bend the knee 0.96

00:07:52.920 to this stuff?

00:07:53.500 Of course, of course she did.

00:07:54.880 Of course she did.

00:07:55.620 And there were signs.

00:07:57.380 Just a few months ago on SNL, for example,

00:07:59.200 Clark went out of her way 0.74

00:08:00.340 in the middle of an alleged comedy segment

00:08:02.500 to credit a series of black women for her success. 0.93

00:08:06.820 Watch.

00:08:07.920 Good luck in the WNBA.

00:08:09.560 I hope you have a great first season.

00:08:11.940 Thanks.

00:08:12.380 I'm sure it will be a big first step for me.

00:08:14.400 But it's just one step for the WNBA. 1.00

00:08:16.540 Thanks to all the great players like Cheryl Swoops,

00:08:18.880 Lisa Leslie, Cynthia Cooper,

00:08:21.080 the great Don Staley,

00:08:22.460 and my basketball hero, Maya Moore.

00:08:24.100 These are the women that kicked down the door 1.00

00:08:26.060 so I could walk inside.

00:08:27.740 So I want to thank them tonight

00:08:28.940 for laying the foundation.

00:08:30.120 And Michael, since you're such a big fan,

00:08:32.720 I brought you a souvenir.

00:08:34.180 It's an apron signed by me.

00:08:38.860 Just another hilarious SNL bit there.

00:08:42.400 Just great, great funny stuff.

00:08:45.480 Now, she doesn't name a single white player,

00:08:47.180 and that's not because there haven't been

00:08:48.400 good white players in the WNBA,

00:08:50.520 at least by the standards of the WNBA. 0.88

00:08:52.020 According to the internet, which I'm relying on

00:08:53.820 for all of my information about the WNBA,

00:08:55.660 somebody named Sue Bird was pretty good, for example.

00:08:58.660 She played for something called the Seattle Storm,

00:09:00.820 which exists.

00:09:03.060 And Sue Bird became the first player

00:09:05.200 in the history of the WNBA

00:09:06.700 to win titles in three different decades.

00:09:09.300 One of the greatest female point guards

00:09:11.020 of all time, apparently.

00:09:12.940 So why isn't Sue Bird getting credit

00:09:15.000 for kicking down the doors

00:09:16.260 so that Caitlin Clark could walk through them?

00:09:18.580 Now, of course, maybe the biggest sign

00:09:19.920 that Clark would start openly apologizing

00:09:21.960 for being white was that she got assaulted

00:09:24.380 all season long and never seemed

00:09:27.280 to have a big issue with it.

00:09:29.300 And I'm talking about flagrant attacks on the court

00:09:32.060 where she was knocked over, jabbed in the eye, etc.

00:09:35.780 All of these attacks were committed 0.98

00:09:37.100 by black players, as far as I can tell. 0.97

00:09:39.460 And these players never really even expressed remorse.

00:09:43.080 In fact, in some cases,

00:09:44.540 is they taunted Caitlin Clark afterwards. 0.90

00:09:47.300 So here's just a small selection

00:09:48.640 of this sort of treatment.

00:09:53.000 Following the pass to Boston.

00:09:57.040 In pain after she caught that fingertip in the eye

00:10:02.880 or right around it from Carrington with no whistle.

00:10:05.860 Now, there's nothing Indiana can challenge here

00:10:18.820 because no call on the floor was made.

00:10:22.320 One-on-one Sammy Wickham with eight seconds left

00:10:27.380 goes around Agumake, drives baseline,

00:10:29.840 and shot rejected by Izzy Magmagor.

00:10:32.920 Second opportunity is up and in by Nalissa Smith. 0.83

00:10:36.120 Very entertaining first half about Seattle

00:10:39.680 and all of a sudden, we're pretty close.

00:10:42.040 This has been as close as it's been

00:10:43.560 all second quarter long, 44.

00:10:47.140 New reaction after this controversial foul

00:10:50.140 on Caitlin Clark.

00:10:51.200 Unnecessary.

00:10:52.940 Clark's Indiana fever taking on the Chicago Sky

00:10:55.520 on Saturday.

00:10:56.720 The Sky's Kennedy Carter hitting a shot,

00:10:59.700 then heading over to Clark

00:11:01.640 and shoulder checking her.

00:11:03.620 The refs called it a common foul,

00:11:05.480 but the league yesterday upgraded the call

00:11:08.080 to a flagrant foul.

00:11:09.440 In Truss Arena, the fever really stretched out this one

00:11:12.200 in the second half

00:11:14.020 as we look at Diamond DeShields and Caitlin Clark.

00:11:19.040 Okay, so just that kind of stuff all season long.

00:11:21.200 And if the clips demonstrate anything,

00:11:23.040 it's that Caitlin Clark doesn't seem

00:11:25.220 to have privilege in this league,

00:11:27.640 although she says she's privileged.

00:11:30.280 As a white woman in the WNBA,

00:11:32.340 she seems to have anything but privilege,

00:11:34.200 and she knows this.

00:11:35.320 She knows it better than anyone.

00:11:36.520 Yet she claims that she has privilege,

00:11:37.980 even after suffering through a season

00:11:39.240 where she was repeatedly physically assaulted 0.72

00:11:40.780 because of her race. 0.67

00:11:42.320 That's the privilege of being white in the WNBA. 1.00

00:11:45.140 The reason she's getting attention,

00:11:47.040 on the other hand,

00:11:47.660 is not that she's white, 0.98

00:11:48.720 it's that she's good by league standards. 0.84

00:11:50.840 Despite getting physically attacked all the time,

00:11:53.320 she set WNBA records for most points by a rookie,

00:11:55.900 most assists,

00:11:56.540 becoming the fastest player to record 300 points,

00:11:59.020 and so on.

00:11:59.880 The reason she's reviled and abused,

00:12:03.000 on the other hand, 0.80

00:12:04.280 is purely because of her race. 0.99

00:12:05.940 I mean, that's the only reason

00:12:07.920 that anyone wouldn't like her,

00:12:10.280 that her teammates or competitors wouldn't like her.

00:12:13.120 In fact, this Time Magazine profile

00:12:14.520 makes that very clear.

00:12:15.660 They quote her teammate,

00:12:17.880 a woman with a name I can't pronounce,

00:12:19.880 as saying, quote, 0.73

00:12:21.260 in a sport dominated by black

00:12:22.860 slash African-American players, 0.93

00:12:24.660 white America has rallied around Caitlin Clark.

00:12:27.240 The support looks mostly amazing,

00:12:28.660 sometimes fanatical and territorial,

00:12:30.300 sometimes racist.

00:12:31.680 It seems that the great white hope syndrome

00:12:33.440 is at play again.

00:12:35.000 That's quite a teammate.

00:12:36.920 In other words,

00:12:37.500 she's saying white people

00:12:38.560 are only supporting Caitlin Clark

00:12:40.660 because they want to see a white person

00:12:42.880 dominate a sport 0.96

00:12:43.720 that's mostly played by black women. 1.00

00:12:45.860 That's supposedly the only reason 0.85

00:12:47.020 some white people are now

00:12:48.060 actually watching the sport

00:12:49.100 and going to the games. 0.97

00:12:50.600 They're such committed white supremacists

00:12:52.180 that they're willing to subject themselves 0.58

00:12:53.360 to hours of WNBA games 0.97

00:12:55.540 just to stick it to black women, apparently. 1.00

00:12:57.920 This is the kind of thing 0.99

00:12:58.500 that makes it very obvious

00:12:59.520 that WNBA is never going to have 1.00

00:13:01.880 another decent season ever again.

00:13:04.000 Because the moment they get some new fans,

00:13:05.940 they immediately smear their new fans

00:13:08.340 as racist.

00:13:09.760 And a lot of these players are doing it.

00:13:11.760 The Time Magazine piece also contains

00:13:13.260 this insight from another player,

00:13:15.720 Asia Wilson is her name,

00:13:17.540 quote,

00:13:18.280 it doesn't matter what we all do

00:13:19.620 as black women,

00:13:20.500 we're still going to be swept 0.70

00:13:21.760 underneath the rug.

00:13:22.940 That's why it boils my blood

00:13:24.440 when people say it's not about race,

00:13:26.000 because it is.

00:13:28.120 This has become part of the mythology

00:13:29.720 in women's basketball for a long time.

00:13:31.960 They seem to have convinced themselves

00:13:33.620 that nobody watches their games

00:13:35.520 because of racism.

00:13:37.020 That was the message

00:13:37.620 that a UConn player

00:13:38.640 named Paige Buechers

00:13:40.600 delivered at the ESPYs

00:13:42.160 a few years ago

00:13:42.860 at the height of the BLN mania.

00:13:45.240 Watch.

00:13:45.500 As a white woman 0.61

00:13:48.840 who leads a black-led sport

00:13:50.640 and celebrated here,

00:13:52.840 I want to show a light

00:13:53.740 on black women. 0.99

00:13:55.260 They don't get the media coverage 0.97

00:13:56.620 that they deserve.

00:14:01.580 They've given so much to this sport

00:14:03.300 and the community

00:14:03.900 and society as a whole,

00:14:05.260 and their value is undeniable.

00:14:08.220 In the WNBA,

00:14:09.860 last season,

00:14:10.380 the postseason awards,

00:14:11.780 80% of the winners were black,

00:14:13.420 but they got half the amount

00:14:14.500 of coverage as a white athlete,

00:14:15.680 so I think it's time for change.

00:14:18.040 Sports media holds

00:14:19.100 the key to storylines.

00:14:23.780 Sports media and sponsors

00:14:25.220 tell us who is valuable,

00:14:26.620 and you have told the world

00:14:27.960 that I matter today,

00:14:29.100 and everyone who voted,

00:14:30.480 thank you,

00:14:31.380 but I think we should use

00:14:32.720 this power together

00:14:33.620 to also celebrate black women.

00:14:38.180 So it's the same script

00:14:39.400 that Caitlin Clark is reading

00:14:40.480 three years later,

00:14:41.140 as if nothing's changed,

00:14:42.280 and hopefully I don't need

00:14:42.980 to explain the problem here.

00:14:44.180 To claim that, you know,

00:14:45.340 people don't care about

00:14:46.440 black basketball players 0.90

00:14:47.880 or that black basketball players 0.51

00:14:49.180 are getting swept under the rug

00:14:50.600 is to ignore the fact

00:14:52.520 that out of the 100 most popular

00:14:55.400 and wealthiest

00:14:56.340 and most praised

00:14:57.100 and adored basketball players

00:14:58.260 of all time,

00:14:59.280 maybe like 10 of them are white.

00:15:01.520 Maybe.

00:15:02.920 Obviously, the vast, vast majority

00:15:04.740 of the greatest

00:15:05.420 and most visible

00:15:06.120 and most widely loved

00:15:07.200 and admired basketball players

00:15:08.360 of all time are black.

00:15:10.220 I mean, the most marketable

00:15:11.300 and marketed athlete

00:15:12.560 in history in any sport

00:15:14.280 is a black guy

00:15:15.440 named Michael Jordan.

00:15:16.260 Maybe you've heard of him.

00:15:17.320 So this narrative

00:15:17.960 wants us to pretend

00:15:18.820 like none of that exists.

00:15:20.760 But things have changed.

00:15:22.180 Most people aren't willing

00:15:23.180 to play, you know,

00:15:24.100 this game of pretend anymore.

00:15:26.180 People are no longer

00:15:26.920 willing to believe

00:15:27.620 that there's a vast conspiracy

00:15:30.060 to ignore the many accomplishments

00:15:31.760 of black women in the WNBA.

00:15:33.660 Now people are more likely

00:15:34.600 to believe the truth,

00:15:35.620 which is that people

00:15:36.360 are ignoring the WNBA

00:15:37.340 because it's just

00:15:38.060 not a great product

00:15:38.920 and people aren't interested in it.

00:15:40.880 If you don't believe that,

00:15:41.640 consider the overwhelmingly

00:15:42.420 negative response

00:15:43.400 to a message

00:15:44.060 that was posted yesterday

00:15:44.880 by outgoing Congressman

00:15:46.120 Jamal Bowman.

00:15:47.460 Now Bowman, of course,

00:15:48.160 is best known

00:15:48.620 for pulling a fire alarm

00:15:49.680 and lying about it.

00:15:50.880 Here's what he wrote on X,

00:15:52.420 totally unprompted.

00:15:54.460 Quote,

00:15:54.860 Dear white people,

00:15:56.760 I don't know why I feel

00:15:57.760 the need to keep talking to you.

00:15:59.960 I don't know why part of me

00:16:00.980 still has hope for you

00:16:01.940 and for us.

00:16:03.040 Some of you are too far gone,

00:16:04.920 but maybe enough of you aren't

00:16:06.680 and will join us

00:16:07.720 in a fight to end

00:16:08.680 white supremacy.

00:16:10.920 Now,

00:16:11.880 yeah,

00:16:12.560 goes without saying,

00:16:13.600 like,

00:16:13.880 you cannot imagine a white, 0.98

00:16:15.460 this guy's still a congressman

00:16:16.640 at the moment.

00:16:17.920 Now we can see why

00:16:18.600 he's not going to be one anymore,

00:16:19.760 but you just cannot imagine

00:16:21.820 a white congressman

00:16:22.980 posting a note

00:16:23.840 on social media saying,

00:16:25.580 Dear black people, 1.00

00:16:26.640 I don't know why 0.65

00:16:27.180 I still bother talking

00:16:28.100 to you people.

00:16:28.780 You know,

00:16:29.060 most of you are too far gone.

00:16:30.880 You can't,

00:16:31.560 it would never happen.

00:16:32.320 I mean,

00:16:32.520 not in a million years

00:16:33.440 would that happen.

00:16:35.740 Bowman then followed up

00:16:36.560 this open letter

00:16:37.940 to white people

00:16:38.660 by lying about 0.85

00:16:39.640 the Rodney King trial

00:16:40.640 and the Daniel Penny case,

00:16:41.600 among others.

00:16:42.700 In response,

00:16:43.380 thousands of people

00:16:43.920 pointed out to Jamal Bowman

00:16:45.060 that he should probably

00:16:46.660 move to Liberia 0.99

00:16:48.060 if he hates white people so much. 0.99

00:16:49.760 And putting it mildly, 0.98

00:16:50.600 the reaction was

00:16:51.380 overwhelmingly negative.

00:16:54.000 And then Bowman

00:16:54.360 responded with this,

00:16:55.380 quote,

00:16:56.100 Wow,

00:16:56.560 this has been so triggering

00:16:57.660 for so many of you.

00:16:58.880 Do you realize

00:16:59.360 you're actually proving my point?

00:17:00.820 If you're triggered by this,

00:17:01.940 imagine how I must feel 0.94

00:17:03.080 when black people 0.99

00:17:03.820 are murdered consistently 0.99

00:17:04.920 and there is no justice.

00:17:06.620 Y'all can't handle a tweet.

00:17:08.340 Fascinating.

00:17:11.980 Now,

00:17:12.480 back at the height of BLM,

00:17:13.820 this series of posts

00:17:15.080 probably would have been effective.

00:17:17.140 You know,

00:17:17.260 there was an appetite

00:17:17.820 for this type of low effort

00:17:19.060 race baiting.

00:17:20.800 But there's no appetite

00:17:21.880 for this stuff anymore

00:17:22.720 as the response

00:17:23.380 on X demonstrates.

00:17:24.800 But there are other members

00:17:25.840 of Congress

00:17:26.260 who will actually

00:17:27.220 be returning next year

00:17:28.260 who are just as committed

00:17:29.160 to this anti-white orthodoxy,

00:17:31.240 even though it's well past

00:17:32.180 its expiration date.

00:17:33.640 Several of them

00:17:34.100 just came out

00:17:34.700 and demanded

00:17:35.280 that Joe Biden

00:17:36.080 commute the sentences

00:17:37.800 of everybody on death row

00:17:40.120 on racial grounds.

00:17:42.400 Watch.

00:17:42.560 Today on Human Rights Day,

00:17:46.240 we call on President Biden

00:17:48.120 to do the right thing,

00:17:50.180 to use his clemency authority

00:17:52.320 to commute the death sentences

00:17:54.820 of the 40 individuals

00:17:56.740 on death row,

00:17:58.020 to resentence them

00:17:59.980 to a prison term

00:18:01.740 and to save lives.

00:18:04.540 State-sanctioned murder

00:18:06.300 is not justice.

00:18:08.320 And the death penalty

00:18:09.900 is a cruel, racist

00:18:11.320 and fundamentally flawed punishment

00:18:13.440 that has no place

00:18:15.180 in our society.

00:18:17.060 It is deeply discriminatory

00:18:18.840 and has disproportionately

00:18:20.360 been weaponized

00:18:21.300 against black, brown

00:18:22.540 and low-income families

00:18:23.720 for far too long.

00:18:25.680 It is long past time

00:18:26.820 for President Biden

00:18:27.740 to make good

00:18:28.560 on his campaign promise

00:18:30.300 to address

00:18:31.700 the federal death penalty.

00:18:34.440 With 40 days left

00:18:36.400 in his presidency,

00:18:37.700 we must move

00:18:38.520 with urgency

00:18:39.200 and ensure

00:18:40.120 that history

00:18:41.200 never repeats itself.

00:18:43.660 Now, the claim

00:18:44.520 you just heard

00:18:45.100 that federal death row

00:18:46.460 disproportionately consists 0.97

00:18:47.720 of black and brown people

00:18:48.740 just isn't true. 1.00

00:18:49.880 Black people commit 1.00

00:18:50.620 something like 50% 1.00

00:18:51.720 of the murders

00:18:52.300 in this country

00:18:52.760 according to FBI data.

00:18:54.040 But the federal death row

00:18:55.900 is only about 38% black.

00:18:57.900 It's 15% Hispanic

00:18:59.100 and 45% white.

00:19:00.420 So, if anything,

00:19:01.860 death row is disproportionately

00:19:03.220 affecting white people.

00:19:04.180 That's what the numbers say.

00:19:05.600 But nobody in their right mind

00:19:06.680 thinks along these lines

00:19:07.760 because everyone on death row

00:19:08.980 obviously deserves to be there. 0.89

00:19:10.700 These are criminals,

00:19:11.760 almost always repeat offenders,

00:19:13.060 who have been convicted

00:19:13.760 of some of the most heinous crimes

00:19:15.160 it's possible

00:19:16.700 for a person to commit,

00:19:17.640 including kidnapping

00:19:18.320 and murdering 12-year-old girls, 0.53

00:19:19.860 executing bank guards, 0.89

00:19:21.540 shooting witnesses 0.96

00:19:22.180 so they can't testify in court. 0.63

00:19:24.200 It includes a police officer

00:19:25.240 in New Orleans

00:19:25.720 who conspired with a drug dealer

00:19:26.920 to murder a woman 0.95

00:19:27.760 who filed a police brutality

00:19:28.820 complaint against him.

00:19:29.680 It includes a mass shooter,

00:19:31.240 includes the Boston bomber,

00:19:32.860 Boston Marathon bomber.

00:19:34.920 I mean,

00:19:35.140 these are the kinds of people

00:19:36.300 that Democrats have decided

00:19:37.420 after their crushing defeat

00:19:38.500 in November

00:19:39.260 must be defended.

00:19:41.880 I mean,

00:19:42.060 Americans made it very clear

00:19:43.220 that they're unhappy

00:19:44.160 with the cost of living,

00:19:46.200 with public safety,

00:19:47.520 with illegal immigration.

00:19:49.280 And Democrats have responded with,

00:19:51.320 well,

00:19:51.620 best we can do

00:19:52.140 is commute the sentences

00:19:53.080 of death row inmates.

00:19:54.140 How about that?

00:19:55.680 I mean,

00:19:55.840 these inmates are the absolute 0.67

00:19:56.860 dregs of society, 0.57

00:19:57.840 but Democrats in Congress

00:19:59.100 have decided to campaign

00:20:00.480 on behalf of these murderers 1.00

00:20:03.100 because some of them are black. 0.99

00:20:06.120 Now, 0.98

00:20:06.600 what this means is that

00:20:07.520 despite the results

00:20:08.920 of last month's election,

00:20:10.060 the left is pushing ahead

00:20:11.140 with the same racial narrative

00:20:12.540 we've seen so many times before.

00:20:14.440 They're completely oblivious

00:20:15.460 to the fact that no one,

00:20:16.580 except apparently Caitlin Clark,

00:20:18.380 is receptive to this

00:20:19.840 kind of demagoguery anymore,

00:20:21.660 or very few people are.

00:20:23.780 For her part,

00:20:24.680 Caitlin Clark has endorsement deals

00:20:26.440 to worry about.

00:20:28.500 No one else really

00:20:29.840 has any incentive

00:20:30.640 to tolerate this stuff.

00:20:32.660 And if there's a reason

00:20:33.400 to be bullish right now

00:20:34.660 about Republicans' prospects

00:20:35.820 in future elections,

00:20:36.880 it's that Democrats,

00:20:38.720 whether they're in Congress

00:20:39.620 or the WNBA, 1.00

00:20:41.380 seem incapable

00:20:42.180 of figuring this out.

00:20:44.520 Now let's get to

00:20:45.200 our five headlines.

00:20:51.660 With Christmas around the corner,

00:20:53.360 let me tell you about

00:20:54.000 the one gift

00:20:54.820 that will actually be

00:20:55.580 worth giving this year.

00:20:56.780 No cheap plastic junk

00:20:58.280 that'll end up in a landfill

00:20:59.580 by February.

00:21:00.580 I'm talking about Cozy Earth,

00:21:02.100 which has become

00:21:02.700 my family's go-to

00:21:03.680 for creating an actual

00:21:04.740 sanctuary in our home.

00:21:06.120 Look, after spending all day

00:21:07.140 fighting the culture war

00:21:07.980 and dealing with the insanity

00:21:08.980 of modern society,

00:21:10.120 you need somewhere to retreat

00:21:11.740 and actually get some rest.

00:21:13.040 That's why I personally love

00:21:14.460 Cozy Earth's bamboo sheet set

00:21:16.380 made from viscous from bamboo.

00:21:18.780 These sheets are engineered

00:21:20.320 to keep you several degrees

00:21:21.780 cooler at night.

00:21:22.860 And unlike most products today,

00:21:24.400 they seem designed

00:21:25.260 to just fall apart.

00:21:26.280 These are guaranteed

00:21:27.040 for 10 years.

00:21:28.300 My wife and I

00:21:28.920 have also become huge fans

00:21:30.000 of their pajama sets.

00:21:31.300 When you're finally done

00:21:32.420 dealing with the world

00:21:33.260 for the day,

00:21:34.200 there's nothing better

00:21:34.860 than changing into something

00:21:36.000 that's actually built

00:21:37.260 for comfort and quality.

00:21:38.540 So here's what you need to do.

00:21:54.240 make sure to let them know

00:21:55.600 how you heard about it

00:21:56.580 and you heard about it

00:21:57.560 on the Matt Walsh show.

00:21:59.500 All right, Daniel Penny

00:22:00.260 was interviewed

00:22:01.140 on Fox News yesterday.

00:22:02.800 This is his first interview

00:22:03.600 since being acquitted

00:22:04.520 on Monday.

00:22:05.480 And let's check out

00:22:06.640 a brief clip of that.

00:22:08.440 I mean, I'm not

00:22:09.580 a confrontational person.

00:22:10.840 I don't really extend myself.

00:22:13.920 I think this type of thing

00:22:15.480 is very uncomfortable.

00:22:16.700 All this attention

00:22:18.080 and limelight

00:22:18.700 is very uncomfortable.

00:22:21.640 And I would prefer

00:22:22.620 without it.

00:22:23.540 I didn't want

00:22:24.200 any type of attention

00:22:25.700 or praise.

00:22:27.760 And I still don't.

00:22:31.560 The guilt I would have felt

00:22:33.220 if someone did get hurt,

00:22:36.060 if he did do

00:22:38.720 what he was threatening to do,

00:22:40.660 would never be able

00:22:41.480 to live with myself.

00:22:42.340 And I'll take a million

00:22:44.960 court appearances

00:22:47.960 and people calling me names

00:22:51.260 and people hating me

00:22:53.580 just to keep one of those people

00:22:57.720 from getting hurt or killed.

00:23:00.400 So this is the first time

00:23:01.460 we've heard from him

00:23:03.800 throughout this whole ordeal.

00:23:05.780 We hadn't even really heard

00:23:07.000 his voice except for

00:23:08.160 a few of the clips

00:23:09.880 of the police interrogation.

00:23:11.120 And now that we finally

00:23:12.300 hear from him,

00:23:12.880 it's exactly what

00:23:13.860 I expected.

00:23:17.140 Pleasantly not surprised.

00:23:18.500 He's humble,

00:23:19.520 not interested in the attention,

00:23:20.900 not interested

00:23:21.440 in the fame,

00:23:23.420 not really comfortable

00:23:24.120 with all the praise.

00:23:25.480 And why did he step up

00:23:27.720 on the train that day?

00:23:28.580 Simply because

00:23:29.240 he wouldn't be able

00:23:29.820 to live with himself

00:23:30.440 if he didn't.

00:23:31.920 And this is such a rare

00:23:32.820 quality these days

00:23:33.900 that it's

00:23:34.340 almost shocking

00:23:36.000 to see it.

00:23:36.520 But just somebody

00:23:37.700 doing the right thing

00:23:38.560 only because

00:23:39.360 it's the right thing.

00:23:40.740 Not for praise

00:23:41.560 or attention,

00:23:42.220 but just like

00:23:42.780 it's the right thing

00:23:43.440 and I'm going to do

00:23:43.760 the right thing.

00:23:45.080 This is what qualifies

00:23:46.160 him as heroic.

00:23:47.520 And personally,

00:23:49.840 I hope he continues

00:23:50.540 to be shy

00:23:51.160 about the public attention

00:23:52.340 and just moves

00:23:53.860 to some friendly state

00:23:55.140 like Florida

00:23:55.760 or Tennessee

00:23:56.280 and just gets back

00:23:57.600 to normal life

00:23:58.200 to the extent

00:23:58.640 that that's possible.

00:23:59.360 but that's what

00:24:01.220 my hope would be

00:24:02.100 for him.

00:24:03.080 I know there are

00:24:03.640 going to be

00:24:04.200 conservatives

00:24:06.380 who try to turn

00:24:07.220 this guy

00:24:07.780 into a public figure,

00:24:09.320 into an activist,

00:24:10.440 into a public speaker.

00:24:12.820 I'm sure he's

00:24:13.180 already been invited

00:24:13.820 to give speeches

00:24:15.280 at a million

00:24:15.860 different things

00:24:16.740 and God forbid

00:24:19.000 he's got a podcast

00:24:19.780 deal coming down.

00:24:20.840 I mean,

00:24:22.180 I hope that doesn't happen.

00:24:24.200 And I mean,

00:24:24.520 if that's what

00:24:25.160 Daniel Penny decides

00:24:26.780 he wants to do,

00:24:27.500 then more power to him.

00:24:29.360 That's great.

00:24:30.080 But for his sake,

00:24:32.020 I hope he's able

00:24:32.640 to go off

00:24:33.180 and just live

00:24:33.700 a private life again.

00:24:35.840 And that's one

00:24:37.640 of the reasons

00:24:37.980 why even though

00:24:38.640 I'm a huge

00:24:39.560 Daniel Penny supporter,

00:24:41.740 I haven't tried

00:24:43.600 to reach out to him

00:24:44.320 to do an interview

00:24:45.040 or come on the podcast.

00:24:46.580 And I don't think

00:24:48.040 the podcast circuit

00:24:48.760 is the best thing

00:24:49.460 for him right now.

00:24:50.740 That's just my opinion.

00:24:51.580 You know,

00:24:51.720 I think back to someone

00:24:52.640 like Kyle Rittenhouse,

00:24:54.520 who, as you know,

00:24:55.320 I also supported

00:24:56.080 all the way through

00:24:56.880 his whole ordeal.

00:24:59.360 And,

00:24:59.800 but immediately

00:25:01.540 after he was acquitted,

00:25:02.740 you know,

00:25:03.000 he was on podcasts

00:25:04.260 and giving speeches

00:25:04.960 and making public appearances

00:25:06.180 and basically ensuring

00:25:08.380 that he would never

00:25:09.060 be able to have

00:25:09.660 anything like

00:25:10.240 a normal life

00:25:10.940 ever again.

00:25:11.560 And, you know,

00:25:14.260 I just,

00:25:15.480 that's usually not,

00:25:16.660 not good.

00:25:18.140 Like that's,

00:25:18.740 not for me to decide,

00:25:21.260 obviously,

00:25:21.840 but that's just my opinion.

00:25:22.720 And,

00:25:23.100 and especially

00:25:25.120 for someone like this,

00:25:25.940 he clearly does like,

00:25:26.940 just doesn't want

00:25:27.480 the attention.

00:25:28.680 He wants to live

00:25:29.620 a normal life

00:25:30.580 and hopefully

00:25:31.720 he's able to do that.

00:25:33.800 Now,

00:25:35.320 AOC had some thoughts

00:25:37.020 on all of this.

00:25:38.380 Let's,

00:25:38.800 let's listen to that.

00:25:41.560 She said that he would,

00:25:43.080 he would do it again

00:25:44.040 if necessary,

00:25:45.840 if there was a,

00:25:46.620 as a threat.

00:25:47.240 What do you make

00:25:47.760 of the comments?

00:25:48.740 you know,

00:25:49.300 doesn't that,

00:25:50.280 I just feel like

00:25:51.140 that,

00:25:51.960 that tells us everything.

00:25:53.860 if we do not want

00:25:55.740 violence on our subways

00:25:57.100 and the point

00:25:58.440 of our justice system

00:25:59.960 is a level

00:26:01.500 of accountability

00:26:02.200 to prevent

00:26:03.280 a person

00:26:03.860 who does not

00:26:05.180 have remorse

00:26:05.980 about taking

00:26:07.020 another person's life.

00:26:08.340 I mean,

00:26:08.740 even people

00:26:10.260 who have engaged

00:26:13.220 in manslaughter

00:26:14.040 or have

00:26:15.120 taken a life

00:26:16.240 accidentally

00:26:17.020 express remorse.

00:26:18.240 And so the fact

00:26:19.680 that a person

00:26:20.280 has,

00:26:20.980 may express

00:26:21.540 no remorse

00:26:22.280 indicates that

00:26:23.240 there's a risk

00:26:23.700 that it may happen again.

00:26:25.600 And if we do not

00:26:26.460 want to unleash

00:26:27.200 that level of violence,

00:26:28.560 then we should

00:26:29.580 exert a level

00:26:30.180 of accountability

00:26:30.880 to prevent that

00:26:32.180 from happening again.

00:26:33.960 So AOC says

00:26:35.360 that New Yorkers

00:26:36.780 are less safe

00:26:37.940 with Daniel Penny

00:26:38.720 out there.

00:26:39.460 He may strike again.

00:26:41.100 He may strike again.

00:26:43.120 That is,

00:26:44.020 he may prevent

00:26:44.900 another psychotic 0.93

00:26:46.180 vagrant 1.00

00:26:46.600 from killing people. 0.59

00:26:47.540 That's what

00:26:50.100 she's worried about.

00:26:50.620 But the problem

00:26:50.980 with this analysis

00:26:51.600 is that if Penny

00:26:52.460 does present

00:26:53.360 that sort of risk,

00:26:55.060 it means New Yorkers

00:26:56.060 are more safe,

00:26:57.640 not less,

00:26:58.940 obviously.

00:26:59.660 So she has this

00:27:00.520 exactly backwards.

00:27:01.920 New York is safer

00:27:03.000 with people like

00:27:03.880 Daniel Penny

00:27:04.480 than without him.

00:27:05.800 Though, honestly,

00:27:07.020 I hope she gets her wish.

00:27:08.760 Hopefully Penny

00:27:09.640 has already left New York

00:27:11.340 so that no more

00:27:13.400 New Yorkers

00:27:14.060 will be plagued

00:27:14.800 by the presence

00:27:15.500 of a heroic,

00:27:16.720 humble,

00:27:17.020 selfless man

00:27:18.060 who steps up

00:27:19.360 to do the right thing

00:27:20.140 at great risk

00:27:20.960 to himself.

00:27:23.100 Because New Yorkers

00:27:23.980 don't deserve

00:27:24.640 Daniel Penny.

00:27:26.520 Honestly.

00:27:29.600 I mean,

00:27:30.160 I give the jury credit.

00:27:31.580 Give the jury credit.

00:27:32.460 They got it right.

00:27:33.940 Took them a while.

00:27:35.780 Like,

00:27:35.900 it should not have taken

00:27:36.500 five days

00:27:37.340 to figure it out.

00:27:38.220 But, you know,

00:27:39.260 they got it right.

00:27:40.840 Fine.

00:27:41.240 But also,

00:27:43.140 let's be honest,

00:27:43.800 New Yorkers

00:27:44.280 did not show up

00:27:45.340 en masse

00:27:46.060 to support

00:27:47.100 Daniel Penny.

00:27:48.400 They really didn't.

00:27:51.080 Maybe some of them did.

00:27:52.120 I'm sure there were

00:27:52.560 some supporters

00:27:53.160 outside the courthouse

00:27:54.160 and all that.

00:27:54.700 But,

00:27:55.120 there should have been

00:27:56.820 an overwhelming

00:27:57.660 outpouring of support

00:27:59.520 in his community

00:28:02.800 for him.

00:28:04.280 And there wasn't.

00:28:06.500 That's a fact of the matter.

00:28:07.520 So, you know,

00:28:09.540 there are a lot of people

00:28:10.020 giving the jury credit

00:28:10.960 and saying,

00:28:12.200 hey,

00:28:12.700 and again,

00:28:13.920 I give him credit too.

00:28:15.100 But, first of all,

00:28:15.840 you can only give people

00:28:16.460 so much credit

00:28:17.020 for just doing

00:28:17.680 what's obviously right.

00:28:19.400 Like,

00:28:19.580 I don't give you

00:28:20.040 a lot of credit

00:28:20.760 for not falsely

00:28:22.160 convicting a man

00:28:23.300 of a crime

00:28:24.320 he didn't commit

00:28:24.800 and sending him

00:28:25.580 to prison for 10 years.

00:28:27.940 That's just basic level

00:28:29.180 human stuff

00:28:29.940 that we expect of you.

00:28:31.340 And so,

00:28:31.900 you did the right thing,

00:28:33.060 but the alternative

00:28:34.400 would have been

00:28:35.020 hideously evil.

00:28:36.200 So, you know,

00:28:37.120 great,

00:28:38.020 thanks for doing

00:28:38.440 the right thing.

00:28:39.640 Thanks for not being

00:28:40.620 hideously evil,

00:28:41.360 but still,

00:28:42.200 it seems to me

00:28:43.920 that he was not

00:28:47.180 getting anywhere near

00:28:49.680 the kind of support

00:28:50.540 in his own community

00:28:51.600 that he should have.

00:28:54.060 And I brought this point up,

00:28:55.940 you know,

00:28:57.000 throughout the trial

00:28:57.700 that you get all these

00:28:58.740 BLM activists

00:28:59.580 outside screaming,

00:29:01.760 why aren't there more

00:29:03.700 on Daniel Penny's side

00:29:05.300 out there?

00:29:07.840 And, you know,

00:29:08.420 you get a lot of excuses

00:29:09.300 and one thing

00:29:10.520 I heard a lot is,

00:29:11.360 well, you know,

00:29:12.100 conservatives are,

00:29:13.320 have jobs

00:29:14.080 and these leftist

00:29:16.200 activists don't.

00:29:17.840 And yeah,

00:29:18.340 I know,

00:29:19.000 that's true.

00:29:22.200 Another one is,

00:29:24.300 well, people,

00:29:25.500 again,

00:29:25.880 people have jobs,

00:29:26.620 they have lives,

00:29:27.120 they don't want to,

00:29:27.840 you know,

00:29:28.120 you're risking something

00:29:29.900 if you show up

00:29:30.600 and support Daniel Penny.

00:29:32.040 Yeah,

00:29:32.220 it is,

00:29:32.800 I suppose,

00:29:33.400 a risk,

00:29:33.820 but at a certain point,

00:29:36.860 like if you're not willing

00:29:37.840 to stand up

00:29:40.460 at a certain point,

00:29:43.020 like we have to expect

00:29:44.500 that of people.

00:29:46.880 It kind of goes back

00:29:47.780 to the Caitlin Clark thing,

00:29:48.700 by the way,

00:29:49.560 because there are

00:29:52.880 plenty of conservatives

00:29:53.760 I've seen that

00:29:54.460 are kind of giving

00:29:55.720 Caitlin Clark

00:29:56.680 the benefit of the doubt

00:29:57.500 and,

00:29:57.900 you know,

00:29:59.000 trying to be gracious

00:29:59.940 and saying,

00:30:00.580 well, listen,

00:30:01.740 she has to bend the knee, 1.00

00:30:02.900 she has to come out

00:30:03.880 and do the whole

00:30:05.000 sort of land acknowledgement

00:30:06.700 thing in the WNBA 0.83

00:30:07.800 and she has to do that

00:30:09.080 because she plays

00:30:10.000 with these people

00:30:10.580 and it would be really hard

00:30:12.720 for her to do anything

00:30:13.900 but that.

00:30:16.540 Yeah,

00:30:16.680 but see,

00:30:17.000 this is the,

00:30:17.560 this is how we end up

00:30:18.680 in a situation

00:30:19.440 where the left-wing

00:30:22.020 racial narrative

00:30:23.000 seizes control

00:30:24.680 of society.

00:30:25.820 It's how you end up

00:30:26.940 with,

00:30:27.460 you know,

00:30:28.100 the trans agenda

00:30:29.100 gaining all the power

00:30:31.400 and prominence,

00:30:32.260 prominence it does.

00:30:34.160 You end up there

00:30:35.280 because

00:30:35.800 just normal people,

00:30:38.820 not enough normal people

00:30:41.120 speak up against it.

00:30:44.680 You know,

00:30:45.640 that's how you end up there.

00:30:51.240 So,

00:30:51.840 we got to start expecting

00:30:53.060 just a little bit

00:30:54.220 of courage

00:30:54.700 from people.

00:30:56.940 Yeah,

00:30:57.400 Cailin Clark,

00:30:58.020 a little bit of courage.

00:30:58.780 I'm not,

00:30:59.260 I don't expect her

00:31:00.260 to come out

00:31:01.000 and say,

00:31:02.360 you know,

00:31:03.240 there's an anti-white

00:31:04.120 racism problem

00:31:05.060 in the WNBA.

00:31:06.220 It'd be great

00:31:06.600 if she said that.

00:31:07.460 She should say that

00:31:08.300 but I know she's not

00:31:09.340 going to say that

00:31:09.780 and I don't even

00:31:10.200 really expect that.

00:31:11.860 But just don't,

00:31:12.880 just don't bend the knee.

00:31:14.260 Don't,

00:31:14.480 don't,

00:31:14.780 don't go out of your way

00:31:15.700 in the other direction.

00:31:16.920 Just don't do that.

00:31:17.880 And if you're

00:31:21.940 in New York

00:31:22.960 and someone

00:31:23.300 in your community

00:31:24.000 who's

00:31:24.880 stepped up

00:31:26.580 to protect you

00:31:27.400 is getting railroaded,

00:31:29.340 then yeah,

00:31:30.220 like,

00:31:30.920 yeah,

00:31:31.200 I expect you to put

00:31:31.940 a little bit on the line.

00:31:34.160 You know,

00:31:35.180 find a way,

00:31:36.780 find a way

00:31:37.200 to schedule around it

00:31:38.260 and just show up

00:31:38.980 and support him

00:31:39.520 at least once.

00:31:40.340 Too many excuses.

00:31:46.720 All right,

00:31:46.960 Daily Wire has this.

00:31:47.940 President-elect Donald Trump

00:31:48.720 referred to Canadian

00:31:49.580 Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

00:31:50.880 as the governor

00:31:51.600 of the great state of Canada

00:31:53.140 in a Truth Social post

00:31:54.740 on Monday.

00:31:56.300 He said,

00:31:56.920 here's the post.

00:31:58.420 It was a pleasure

00:31:58.860 to have dinner

00:31:59.300 the other night

00:32:00.020 with Governor Justin Trudeau

00:32:01.840 of the great state of Canada.

00:32:03.760 I look forward to seeing

00:32:04.520 the governor again soon

00:32:05.720 so we may continue

00:32:06.800 our in-depth talks

00:32:07.860 on tariffs and trade.

00:32:09.020 the results of which

00:32:10.580 will be truly spectacular

00:32:11.880 for all.

00:32:15.060 So,

00:32:15.800 you know,

00:32:16.500 this is very funny

00:32:17.280 trolling by Trump,

00:32:18.160 but I do think

00:32:19.440 it should maybe

00:32:21.180 not be trolling.

00:32:21.980 I think this is worth

00:32:22.620 thinking about.

00:32:23.660 Do we annex Canada?

00:32:26.840 I've heard the proposal

00:32:27.820 for maybe we take

00:32:28.820 Canada and Mexico.

00:32:30.420 Maybe we can have both.

00:32:31.560 For me,

00:32:31.880 I'd say I'm not interested

00:32:32.640 in Mexico.

00:32:33.400 No thanks.

00:32:34.120 Just wall it off

00:32:35.140 and leave it alone.

00:32:36.560 I'm not sure we gain much

00:32:37.640 by conquering Mexico.

00:32:38.460 Like,

00:32:38.720 why would you want that?

00:32:40.420 What about Mexico

00:32:41.380 is appealing?

00:32:43.980 But Canada,

00:32:44.980 that's interesting.

00:32:47.340 You know,

00:32:47.540 sure,

00:32:47.940 if you take Canada,

00:32:49.700 then you have to

00:32:50.220 unfortunately deal

00:32:51.080 with all the Canadians,

00:32:52.160 but the good news

00:32:52.680 is that it's a huge country

00:32:53.800 with only like 14

00:32:55.600 or 15 people living in it,

00:32:56.860 I think,

00:32:57.240 was the latest

00:32:57.840 population estimate.

00:33:01.500 Bigger than the United States

00:33:02.600 in terms of the

00:33:03.360 total land mass.

00:33:04.520 A lot of it is basically

00:33:05.440 frozen,

00:33:06.020 a frozen wasteland,

00:33:06.880 but still,

00:33:07.800 it's worth thinking about.

00:33:09.760 What would Canada

00:33:10.600 even do

00:33:11.340 if we decided

00:33:13.280 to conquer it?

00:33:14.540 Does Canada

00:33:15.180 have a military?

00:33:17.640 And their military

00:33:18.320 is like

00:33:18.840 three guys

00:33:20.980 with slingshots

00:33:21.920 on a toboggan.

00:33:23.480 So you could probably

00:33:24.360 pretty easily

00:33:24.940 take it over

00:33:25.560 and, you know,

00:33:26.380 maybe you worry about

00:33:27.340 the European countries

00:33:29.400 being upset,

00:33:30.760 but why would you worry

00:33:31.900 about that?

00:33:32.240 What are they going

00:33:32.600 to do?

00:33:33.400 You know,

00:33:33.780 do they even

00:33:34.240 have militaries?

00:33:37.180 And even if they

00:33:38.520 could do something

00:33:38.940 about it,

00:33:39.340 nobody would care

00:33:39.940 that much

00:33:40.540 because it's Canada.

00:33:41.680 Everybody would just

00:33:42.160 look over there

00:33:42.720 and go,

00:33:42.920 what's going on over there?

00:33:43.940 Oh, you're conquering

00:33:44.500 Canada?

00:33:45.000 Nah, okay.

00:33:46.020 Whatever, it's Canada.

00:33:47.300 And I like Canada,

00:33:48.060 by the way,

00:33:48.400 just to be clear.

00:33:49.120 I don't like its culture

00:33:50.700 or its politics

00:33:51.420 or its government,

00:33:52.280 but it's a beautiful country,

00:33:54.740 which is why I'm saying

00:33:55.960 we should consider

00:33:56.600 maybe taking it.

00:33:59.740 And by the way,

00:34:01.140 the Canadians

00:34:01.740 are all plagued

00:34:03.340 by this colonial guilt,

00:34:06.820 right?

00:34:07.240 The land acknowledgement

00:34:09.540 thing in Canada

00:34:10.340 is huge.

00:34:12.500 So,

00:34:13.300 they really would

00:34:14.580 have no right.

00:34:15.840 By their own logic,

00:34:16.940 they have no right

00:34:17.520 to the land anyways,

00:34:18.780 so they can't really object

00:34:20.600 if we come in

00:34:21.920 and take it.

00:34:23.440 By their logic,

00:34:24.620 we're just stealing land

00:34:26.040 from people

00:34:26.720 who already stole it.

00:34:27.920 So it's a little bit like

00:34:28.900 stealing a car

00:34:31.300 from a car thief.

00:34:32.280 It's like,

00:34:32.620 who's really the victim here?

00:34:33.880 I mean,

00:34:34.180 the victim is

00:34:34.780 down the line somewhere,

00:34:36.480 but the thief

00:34:37.680 is not a victim.

00:34:39.880 So,

00:34:41.080 I don't know.

00:34:42.020 Something to think about.

00:34:42.720 We're just thinking about it,

00:34:43.520 Canada.

00:34:44.040 Relax.

00:34:44.760 I mean,

00:34:44.880 it's not saying

00:34:45.680 we will conquer you.

00:34:47.440 We're just saying

00:34:48.200 we could.

00:34:49.760 And maybe we should.

00:34:51.580 And maybe we will.

00:34:54.840 Here's an article

00:34:55.580 that I found

00:34:56.280 interesting.

00:34:58.900 I don't know

00:35:00.520 how you'll feel about it,

00:35:01.560 but I thought

00:35:02.480 it was interesting.

00:35:03.000 It's from the Daily Mail.

00:35:04.460 A study conducted

00:35:05.240 by U.S. Army Intelligence

00:35:06.600 has suggested

00:35:07.260 that reincarnation

00:35:08.460 is real

00:35:09.040 because consciousness

00:35:10.660 never dies.

00:35:12.780 Entitled,

00:35:13.260 Analysis and Assessment

00:35:14.300 of the Gateway Process,

00:35:15.680 the 29-page report

00:35:17.000 was drafted

00:35:17.480 by U.S. Army Lieutenant

00:35:18.520 Colonel Wayne M. McDonnell

00:35:20.500 in 1983

00:35:21.900 and declassified

00:35:23.040 by the CIA

00:35:23.680 in 2003.

00:35:24.580 The research

00:35:24.920 has resurfaced

00:35:25.600 on social media

00:35:26.380 with Chicago-based

00:35:27.940 comedian Sarah Holcomb

00:35:29.200 summarizing the findings

00:35:30.800 saying,

00:35:31.220 we're pretty sure

00:35:31.660 reincarnation is real.

00:35:34.680 The report says

00:35:35.760 consciousness is energy

00:35:37.060 and it exists

00:35:37.740 outside of our

00:35:38.480 understanding of reality

00:35:39.520 and energy never dies.

00:35:42.140 The mind-bending

00:35:42.780 official Pentagon study

00:35:43.780 was commissioned

00:35:44.260 to better understand

00:35:45.280 what its Army

00:35:46.080 intel colleagues

00:35:46.960 were doing,

00:35:48.220 sending personnel

00:35:49.040 to a small institute

00:35:49.920 in Charlottesville,

00:35:51.640 Virginia

00:35:51.940 that was working

00:35:52.660 on the Gateway Experience.

00:35:56.000 The then-secretive

00:35:57.120 Gateway Project

00:35:58.040 based on McDowell's analysis

00:36:00.560 was a training system

00:36:01.860 designed to bring

00:36:02.580 enhanced strength,

00:36:03.720 focus,

00:36:04.040 and coherence

00:36:04.700 to alter consciousness.

00:36:07.380 Okay,

00:36:07.620 so that's the report.

00:36:08.520 I have no idea

00:36:08.980 why the article

00:36:09.460 is telling us

00:36:10.000 what some random comedian

00:36:10.920 thinks about all this,

00:36:11.860 but the actual story

00:36:13.340 is quite fascinating.

00:36:16.120 Consciousness never dies

00:36:17.300 according to the study.

00:36:19.120 Now,

00:36:19.440 I don't buy

00:36:19.940 the reincarnation angle here,

00:36:21.360 obviously,

00:36:23.800 but it does go

00:36:25.720 to show

00:36:26.280 just how insufficient

00:36:27.600 are these secular

00:36:28.700 explanations

00:36:30.600 for consciousness

00:36:31.520 because secular

00:36:34.200 mainstream science

00:36:35.400 really has no explanation

00:36:37.140 for consciousness.

00:36:38.540 It can't say

00:36:39.220 how consciousness

00:36:39.860 came about

00:36:40.560 or even what it is

00:36:42.220 exactly,

00:36:43.040 but its guess

00:36:45.900 is that consciousness

00:36:46.820 is somehow

00:36:47.380 the byproduct

00:36:48.460 of the brain's

00:36:49.700 functioning.

00:36:50.420 It's a physical process.

00:36:52.080 It's a physical product.

00:36:54.740 It's like how

00:36:55.380 fire produces smoke,

00:36:57.020 basically.

00:36:58.340 But the purely physical

00:36:59.420 theory of consciousness

00:37:00.960 has some major problems.

00:37:02.200 I mean,

00:37:02.320 for one thing,

00:37:03.560 you're left with

00:37:04.220 kind of the fundamental problem

00:37:05.580 of how a physical process

00:37:06.960 could become aware

00:37:07.920 of itself.

00:37:09.980 This is me

00:37:11.080 nerding out now

00:37:11.720 and probably nobody cares

00:37:12.680 anymore,

00:37:12.900 but I'm just going to

00:37:13.300 talk about it anyway

00:37:13.780 because I find it

00:37:15.980 very interesting.

00:37:16.640 I don't know how

00:37:16.920 you could not be interested

00:37:17.700 in the phenomenon

00:37:20.580 of consciousness

00:37:21.440 and what exactly it is.

00:37:23.300 And I think ultimately

00:37:24.220 is where I'm getting at

00:37:25.140 that I think that

00:37:25.740 when you talk about

00:37:26.860 the proofs of God

00:37:27.900 and I think that

00:37:30.420 there are many proofs

00:37:32.060 that are quite compelling.

00:37:32.920 This, to me,

00:37:33.720 is the most compelling

00:37:34.580 proof of all.

00:37:36.440 Not often used

00:37:37.500 in these debates

00:37:38.220 about the existence

00:37:38.980 of God with atheists 1.00

00:37:40.000 and so on.

00:37:41.080 I rarely,

00:37:41.900 and I watch a lot

00:37:42.580 of these debates

00:37:42.980 because I find them interesting,

00:37:43.640 but I rarely hear anyone

00:37:46.140 use this proof,

00:37:47.820 but to me,

00:37:48.300 it's the most compelling one

00:37:49.560 because, again,

00:37:51.020 it's this,

00:37:53.080 the mainstream secular science

00:37:54.320 has no explanation for it.

00:37:57.760 So,

00:37:58.800 you know,

00:38:00.300 if you want to say

00:38:01.280 that some mindless

00:38:02.580 physical process

00:38:03.680 produces some other

00:38:05.300 mindless physical thing,

00:38:07.480 then fine,

00:38:08.260 but how does a mindless

00:38:10.140 physical process

00:38:11.360 produce an awareness

00:38:12.780 of itself?

00:38:14.260 So,

00:38:14.520 how can a bunch of

00:38:15.200 inanimate,

00:38:16.540 mindless things

00:38:18.120 combine together

00:38:19.980 to form

00:38:20.920 a mind?

00:38:23.440 So,

00:38:23.900 you know,

00:38:24.120 put another way,

00:38:24.820 the brain is made up

00:38:25.720 of cells,

00:38:26.240 of course,

00:38:26.600 but if each individual cell

00:38:27.980 does not have,

00:38:29.020 you know,

00:38:31.420 some degree of consciousness,

00:38:33.460 then how can it

00:38:34.240 all together

00:38:34.960 have consciousness?

00:38:36.280 How can the,

00:38:36.680 how can the combination

00:38:37.760 of material

00:38:38.860 create a property

00:38:40.220 that was never present

00:38:41.240 in the smaller parts?

00:38:45.480 You know,

00:38:46.080 there's,

00:38:46.360 there's one attempt

00:38:47.200 to solve that,

00:38:48.960 you know,

00:38:49.240 I guess the one sort of,

00:38:51.100 from a secular perspective,

00:38:52.460 it's called panpsychism,

00:38:53.880 and that's the idea

00:38:54.980 that consciousness

00:38:55.920 is a fundamental brute

00:38:57.200 fact of the universe,

00:38:58.220 and so every bit

00:39:00.060 of matter

00:39:00.620 has a certain amount

00:39:01.760 of kind of latent

00:39:02.540 consciousness,

00:39:04.120 and,

00:39:04.480 and so it's just,

00:39:05.660 so their way of explaining

00:39:06.540 it is like,

00:39:07.060 why does consciousness exist?

00:39:08.080 Well,

00:39:08.180 just because it does,

00:39:08.840 it's just part of reality,

00:39:10.040 and so when you combine

00:39:11.440 it together,

00:39:11.820 you get more

00:39:12.400 sophisticated consciousness.

00:39:13.820 Now,

00:39:13.940 of course,

00:39:14.120 if that was true,

00:39:14.700 then that would mean

00:39:15.100 that like something

00:39:15.480 like the sun

00:39:16.240 is conscious,

00:39:17.120 because it's a combination

00:39:18.140 of all these,

00:39:19.300 of material

00:39:20.560 that is itself conscious,

00:39:22.320 which of course,

00:39:23.880 you know,

00:39:24.180 that's kind of wacky,

00:39:25.400 but it is,

00:39:26.100 it's very wacky,

00:39:26.820 it's not true,

00:39:27.320 but it's their way

00:39:27.960 of kind of getting

00:39:28.920 around this problem,

00:39:30.640 and the other big problem

00:39:32.740 is that consciousness,

00:39:34.200 if it's a blind

00:39:35.040 physical process,

00:39:36.160 you know,

00:39:37.320 as mainstream

00:39:38.120 secular science

00:39:38.940 would say,

00:39:40.100 that would mean

00:39:40.580 that it's a,

00:39:41.000 it's a product

00:39:41.680 of evolution,

00:39:43.200 but,

00:39:44.320 which is what

00:39:44.780 they would say,

00:39:45.300 right,

00:39:45.620 you know,

00:39:46.100 the kind of godless

00:39:47.840 explanation of consciousness,

00:39:48.940 well,

00:39:49.080 it's a,

00:39:49.260 it's a product

00:39:49.940 of evolution,

00:39:50.300 everything's a product,

00:39:51.080 everything about us

00:39:51.940 is a product of evolution,

00:39:53.000 which is a blind process

00:39:54.520 with no designer

00:39:55.640 overseeing it,

00:39:56.360 you know,

00:39:56.640 they would say,

00:39:58.640 but,

00:39:59.700 you know,

00:40:00.300 that doesn't make

00:40:01.220 any sense either,

00:40:02.060 judge,

00:40:02.540 judge purely on like

00:40:03.580 a Darwinian level,

00:40:04.600 if you're just to take

00:40:05.300 their premise,

00:40:06.160 it makes no sense

00:40:07.700 that consciousness

00:40:09.180 would ever come about

00:40:10.160 because it really has

00:40:11.580 no evolutionary advantage,

00:40:13.140 right,

00:40:13.220 I mean,

00:40:13.360 the only thing

00:40:13.740 evolution,

00:40:14.380 right,

00:40:14.640 cares about

00:40:15.300 is just the propagation

00:40:16.120 of the species,

00:40:17.680 that's the only,

00:40:18.220 that's the only

00:40:18.860 objective of evolution,

00:40:21.680 so,

00:40:22.980 what is,

00:40:23.980 how does it help

00:40:24.660 propagate the species

00:40:25.480 to make us

00:40:26.440 aware of ourselves,

00:40:29.120 to have the kind of

00:40:29.860 vivid sense of

00:40:31.880 awareness that we all have,

00:40:33.940 that's just,

00:40:34.740 you know,

00:40:34.960 unique and distinct

00:40:36.060 for humans,

00:40:37.400 as far as we know,

00:40:38.380 no other creatures

00:40:38.960 in the universe have,

00:40:40.620 how does that help,

00:40:42.680 why would,

00:40:43.400 why would,

00:40:44.180 you know,

00:40:44.560 why would evolution

00:40:45.780 be interested

00:40:46.480 in creating something

00:40:47.560 like that,

00:40:48.000 what is the,

00:40:48.360 what is the,

00:40:48.940 the evolutionary advantage,

00:40:51.320 and I don't see how

00:40:53.800 there would be the one,

00:40:54.540 so from the purely

00:40:55.780 physical perspective,

00:40:57.400 it just doesn't make

00:40:58.540 any sense,

00:40:59.180 and that leaves us

00:40:59.840 with the idea

00:41:00.480 that consciousness

00:41:02.200 is something that

00:41:03.280 transcends the physical,

00:41:04.580 consciousness is a function

00:41:05.580 of the spirit,

00:41:06.480 of the soul,

00:41:07.620 which requires there

00:41:09.660 to be something

00:41:10.120 like a soul,

00:41:11.220 which requires there

00:41:12.800 to be a god,

00:41:14.040 and so,

00:41:15.600 I've always found that

00:41:16.300 to be an interesting

00:41:16.840 explanation.

00:41:18.600 Man,

00:41:18.840 have you heard

00:41:19.140 about Rose Sparks?

00:41:20.620 This dual action

00:41:21.320 prescription merges

00:41:22.280 the powerhouse ingredients

00:41:23.620 found in generic

00:41:24.620 Viagra and Cialis,

00:41:25.900 Sildenafil,

00:41:26.520 and Tadalafil

00:41:27.100 into one formidable

00:41:28.200 treatment,

00:41:29.040 but it's not merely

00:41:29.600 about the ingredients

00:41:30.340 and the medication,

00:41:31.120 it's how you're taking it.

00:41:32.200 That's why Rose Sparks

00:41:32.980 are designed to dissolve

00:41:33.940 under your tongue,

00:41:35.260 and that's huge

00:41:35.760 because dissolvable treatments

00:41:36.900 hit your bloodstream

00:41:38.160 faster than old school pills.

00:41:40.000 Rose Sparks keeps you

00:41:40.960 present with your partner

00:41:41.900 instead of waiting

00:41:43.080 for a pill to work.

00:41:44.620 Rose Sparks leverages 0.96

00:41:45.500 the benefits

00:41:45.980 of sublingual administration,

00:41:47.400 meaning the tablet

00:41:48.200 dissolves under your tongue.

00:41:49.900 This method allows

00:41:50.640 for fast absorption

00:41:51.640 directly into your bloodstream,

00:41:53.280 bypassing the digestive system.

00:41:54.920 The result,

00:41:55.660 quicker onset of action,

00:41:56.980 reducing the wait time

00:41:58.040 typically associated

00:41:58.780 with traditional pills.

00:41:59.880 Plus,

00:42:00.140 Tadalafil,

00:42:00.680 the active ingredient Cialis,

00:42:01.980 lasts in the system

00:42:02.680 for up to 36 hours.

00:42:04.180 So,

00:42:04.680 when the mood is right,

00:42:05.740 you'll be ready

00:42:06.280 without another dose.

00:43:00.340 Now let's get to

00:43:00.860 our daily cancellation.

00:43:08.120 So I'm going to do

00:43:09.000 a service today

00:43:10.020 for our daily cancellation

00:43:10.940 as I do so often

00:43:12.160 during this segment.

00:43:13.420 Every daily cancellation

00:43:14.440 is in effect

00:43:15.400 a public service

00:43:16.380 and that will essentially

00:43:18.700 and especially

00:43:19.740 be the case today.

00:43:20.840 Out of the kindness

00:43:21.880 of my heart

00:43:22.840 and an abundance

00:43:23.760 of Christmas joy

00:43:24.780 and generosity,

00:43:25.420 I'm going to help anyone

00:43:27.020 who is still trying

00:43:27.780 to figure out

00:43:28.420 what sort of gift

00:43:30.020 to buy for any dad

00:43:31.740 in their life

00:43:32.440 for Christmas

00:43:33.020 or any other

00:43:33.900 gift-giving occasion.

00:43:35.280 I'll also be helping out

00:43:36.140 all the dads out there

00:43:37.040 by hopefully rescuing them

00:43:38.360 from the plague

00:43:39.080 of bad gifts

00:43:40.000 that we dads

00:43:40.900 suffer from

00:43:41.580 by the millions

00:43:42.280 across the globe

00:43:43.020 every year.

00:43:43.740 It is the silent epidemic

00:43:45.280 that nobody talks about

00:43:46.440 but today it ends.

00:43:47.520 So we're going to run down

00:43:48.840 a list of some

00:43:49.940 of the most popular

00:43:50.680 and common categories

00:43:53.060 really of dad gifts

00:43:54.380 and I'll tell you

00:43:56.480 which of these gifts

00:43:57.500 are canceled.

00:43:59.500 And these are gifts

00:44:00.540 that you just simply

00:44:01.320 should not give

00:44:02.160 your dad

00:44:02.600 or your husband

00:44:03.220 even if you've given him

00:44:04.960 this kind of gift

00:44:05.520 in the past

00:44:05.960 and he claimed

00:44:06.440 that he liked it.

00:44:07.740 So we're always going

00:44:08.440 to pretend that we

00:44:09.160 like anything you give us

00:44:10.580 that doesn't mean

00:44:11.040 we actually do.

00:44:11.940 So let's go through

00:44:12.460 some of these

00:44:12.880 and at the end

00:44:13.880 I'll also tell you

00:44:14.520 which gifts you should buy

00:44:15.560 so I won't just leave you

00:44:16.560 with the negative.

00:44:17.640 We'll get to the

00:44:18.200 constructive part of it.

00:44:19.960 But as for the bad gifts

00:44:21.060 there are really

00:44:21.500 three categories.

00:44:22.660 Okay, these are bad gifts

00:44:23.800 for a dad

00:44:25.700 but also very common.

00:44:29.500 Bad gifts category number one.

00:44:32.140 Anything that qualifies

00:44:33.500 as a gag gift.

00:44:35.400 Okay, now dads

00:44:36.820 have been the primary recipients

00:44:38.880 of gag gifts

00:44:40.300 since the beginning of time.

00:44:41.940 The entire gag gift market

00:44:43.600 is kept afloat

00:44:44.580 by our wives and children 1.00

00:44:46.360 buying this crap for us. 1.00

00:44:48.720 Like no one else 1.00

00:44:49.380 gets to gag gifts

00:44:50.320 as much as we do.

00:44:52.040 Across the world

00:44:52.720 like nine trillion dollars

00:44:54.260 are spent on gag gifts

00:44:55.420 every year.

00:44:55.820 I don't know if that's

00:44:56.240 the exact number

00:44:56.780 but I'm sure it's

00:44:58.040 something around there.

00:44:59.100 And all that money

00:44:59.800 is a waste.

00:45:00.320 You're wasting money

00:45:01.720 and our time

00:45:03.580 on a thing

00:45:04.220 that we will open

00:45:05.140 and pretend to find

00:45:06.240 vaguely amusing

00:45:07.160 and never think about again.

00:45:09.380 There are a million examples

00:45:10.300 of this sort of thing

00:45:10.980 but here's just one.

00:45:12.260 This was apparently

00:45:13.300 featured on Shark Tank

00:45:14.380 at one point.

00:45:15.040 It's a toilet timer

00:45:16.420 and Amazon tells me

00:45:17.840 it's a funny gift for men.

00:45:19.600 And there's like a million

00:45:20.140 of these things.

00:45:20.720 Funny gift for men.

00:45:21.920 The gag is that

00:45:22.580 it's a timer

00:45:23.080 that you keep on the toilet

00:45:23.940 so that I guess

00:45:24.700 you can keep track

00:45:25.420 of how long it takes

00:45:26.180 you to finish your business.

00:45:27.100 I don't know.

00:45:27.820 Now what's the problem

00:45:28.440 with this?

00:45:29.300 It's the same problem

00:45:29.880 with any gag gift.

00:45:30.560 It's just not that funny.

00:45:31.840 Like why isn't it funny?

00:45:32.680 Well because the companies

00:45:33.540 that make cheap novelties

00:45:34.860 are not comedic masterminds.

00:45:36.600 If you're a true comedy

00:45:37.800 like genius

00:45:39.360 you're not working

00:45:40.280 at the toilet timer company.

00:45:42.160 You're not getting

00:45:42.740 a job coming up

00:45:44.240 with wacky slogans

00:45:45.340 for mugs

00:45:45.960 or t-shirts

00:45:46.560 or ties.

00:45:48.240 So the people

00:45:48.840 producing this stuff

00:45:49.520 aren't funny

00:45:50.120 and so we're not amused

00:45:51.120 which is why

00:45:51.720 whenever you

00:45:52.540 your dad or your husband

00:45:53.880 opens a gag gift

00:45:55.000 you've probably noticed

00:45:56.580 he always has the same reaction.

00:45:57.640 He goes like

00:45:58.360 yeah

00:45:59.520 that's a good one.

00:46:01.720 And then you have to

00:46:02.360 spend the next five minutes

00:46:03.140 explaining why it's funny.

00:46:04.560 So the real gift here

00:46:05.360 I guess is that

00:46:06.020 we get to listen to you

00:46:07.560 explain a joke

00:46:08.500 a joke that by the way

00:46:09.300 really doesn't need explaining.

00:46:10.640 The problem isn't that

00:46:11.240 it's abstract and cerebral

00:46:13.260 it's just that it's not funny.

00:46:14.400 So let's just

00:46:15.880 cut that out. 0.73

00:46:17.600 Number two

00:46:17.980 here's another

00:46:18.640 for the bad gift column.

00:46:20.200 This is very broad

00:46:21.020 I know

00:46:21.280 but it's important.

00:46:23.080 It's an important point.

00:46:23.980 It's maybe the most important thing

00:46:25.180 that I've said so far

00:46:26.560 during this

00:46:26.880 really at any point

00:46:27.800 this year.

00:46:30.460 So listen very carefully

00:46:31.520 to this.

00:46:33.140 Do not buy

00:46:34.700 the dad in your life

00:46:36.140 any kind

00:46:37.740 of object

00:46:38.880 tool

00:46:39.640 gadget

00:46:40.780 gizmo

00:46:41.840 thingamajig

00:46:43.200 instrument

00:46:44.260 apparatus

00:46:45.640 that you haven't

00:46:47.580 seen him use

00:46:48.680 before.

00:46:50.020 So here's what you have

00:46:50.920 to understand

00:46:51.320 about dads.

00:46:51.980 By the time

00:46:53.440 we become dads

00:46:54.480 we will have

00:46:55.740 already picked

00:46:56.780 all of the types

00:46:58.240 of things

00:46:59.000 that we will

00:46:59.720 ever want

00:47:00.440 to use

00:47:01.040 ever.

00:47:02.240 We are not

00:47:03.080 adding

00:47:03.580 any more

00:47:04.500 things.

00:47:05.500 Now

00:47:05.660 here's the important

00:47:07.480 part.

00:47:08.180 That's not to say

00:47:09.100 that we will have

00:47:09.760 all of the things

00:47:10.800 we will ever use.

00:47:12.120 I said we've selected

00:47:13.220 all of the types

00:47:14.440 of things.

00:47:15.160 So

00:47:15.360 your job

00:47:16.840 as the gift giver

00:47:17.960 is to figure out

00:47:18.740 what types of things

00:47:20.060 your dad or husband

00:47:20.980 uses

00:47:21.400 and buy him

00:47:23.000 something within

00:47:23.880 that type.

00:47:25.740 Okay

00:47:25.960 don't try to

00:47:26.800 introduce him

00:47:27.560 to a new

00:47:28.120 type of thing.

00:47:30.020 Let me show

00:47:30.620 what I mean.

00:47:31.080 For example

00:47:31.540 if you've never

00:47:32.820 seen him wear

00:47:33.480 a watch before

00:47:34.400 don't get him

00:47:35.460 a watch.

00:47:36.260 He's not a watch

00:47:37.240 guy.

00:47:38.120 A watch is a

00:47:39.200 type of thing

00:47:40.040 that didn't make

00:47:41.120 the cut

00:47:41.620 in his life.

00:47:43.100 And now

00:47:43.400 if he's 35

00:47:44.220 or 45

00:47:44.980 and he's never

00:47:45.560 it just didn't

00:47:46.320 make the cut.

00:47:46.920 He's not

00:47:47.240 that guy.

00:47:48.200 He's not ever

00:47:48.920 going to wear one.

00:47:49.460 If he likes

00:47:50.300 coffee but you've

00:47:51.080 never seen him

00:47:51.980 in your entire

00:47:52.400 life use a

00:47:53.140 French press

00:47:53.760 don't get him

00:47:54.800 a French press.

00:47:55.640 He's not a

00:47:56.100 French press guy.

00:47:57.340 He's not going

00:47:57.720 to start to

00:47:58.700 become one

00:47:59.200 just because

00:47:59.580 you buy him

00:48:00.080 one that's

00:48:00.360 asking too much.

00:48:01.060 That's a major

00:48:01.640 lifestyle change.

00:48:02.980 You can't expect

00:48:03.520 him to make.

00:48:04.820 This goes

00:48:05.240 especially for

00:48:05.820 any kind of

00:48:06.260 electronic gadget.

00:48:08.180 You know

00:48:08.300 if you've never

00:48:08.680 seen him use

00:48:09.160 a tablet

00:48:09.620 don't get him

00:48:10.860 an iPad.

00:48:11.980 It's a nice

00:48:12.400 gift.

00:48:12.920 It's an expensive

00:48:13.480 gift.

00:48:15.060 He thanks you

00:48:15.920 for it but

00:48:16.340 he'll never

00:48:16.780 use it.

00:48:17.820 He appreciates

00:48:18.500 the idea

00:48:19.100 of it.

00:48:19.500 He likes it

00:48:20.100 in theory

00:48:20.660 maybe but

00:48:21.340 he won't

00:48:21.660 use it.

00:48:22.260 He just

00:48:22.480 doesn't use

00:48:22.980 that type

00:48:23.380 of thing.

00:48:24.260 If you've

00:48:24.580 never seen

00:48:24.880 him wear

00:48:25.120 slippers

00:48:25.600 don't buy

00:48:26.100 him slippers.

00:48:26.620 He's not

00:48:26.860 a slippers

00:48:27.200 guy.

00:48:28.020 I'm a

00:48:28.300 slippers guy.

00:48:28.860 Slippers

00:48:29.100 for me

00:48:29.660 are a great

00:48:30.020 gift.

00:48:30.980 But only

00:48:31.760 because that

00:48:32.320 type of

00:48:32.700 thing has

00:48:33.060 made it

00:48:33.460 onto my

00:48:33.920 roster.

00:48:34.580 You see

00:48:34.760 if you've

00:48:35.440 never seen

00:48:35.920 him use

00:48:36.900 any kind

00:48:37.380 of electronic

00:48:38.460 back massager

00:48:39.560 thing or

00:48:40.100 whatever.

00:48:40.620 Again

00:48:40.780 don't buy

00:48:41.140 him one.

00:48:41.820 He doesn't

00:48:42.080 use that

00:48:42.380 type of

00:48:42.640 thing.

00:48:43.680 These are

00:48:44.100 not bad

00:48:44.700 gifts per

00:48:45.260 se.

00:48:45.560 They could

00:48:45.880 be amazing

00:48:46.440 gifts but

00:48:47.260 only if it's

00:48:47.860 a type of

00:48:48.420 thing that

00:48:48.760 has already

00:48:49.260 made it

00:48:49.920 onto your

00:48:50.480 dad or

00:48:50.980 husband's

00:48:51.440 menu of

00:48:52.160 things that

00:48:52.700 he uses.

00:48:53.840 Don't try

00:48:54.440 to add to

00:48:55.080 the menu.

00:48:56.540 It never

00:48:56.940 works.

00:48:58.140 Now there

00:48:59.480 is a wrinkle

00:48:59.900 here that I

00:49:00.460 have to

00:49:00.700 mention.

00:49:01.020 It's possible

00:49:01.720 that a

00:49:02.100 man later

00:49:05.600 in life as

00:49:06.100 a father may

00:49:07.480 try to

00:49:08.300 expand into

00:49:09.540 a new type

00:49:10.200 of thing.

00:49:11.500 That can

00:49:12.060 happen.

00:49:13.220 But if

00:49:13.500 that's the

00:49:13.920 case you'll

00:49:14.480 know it

00:49:14.820 because he'll

00:49:15.220 announce it

00:49:15.680 to you.

00:49:15.980 He'll be

00:49:16.180 excited about

00:49:16.820 his journey

00:49:17.380 into a

00:49:17.880 new thing.

00:49:19.220 The new

00:49:19.740 thing probably

00:49:20.180 won't take.

00:49:20.960 He probably

00:49:21.240 won't stick

00:49:21.660 with it or

00:49:22.120 remain interested

00:49:22.700 in it for

00:49:23.020 very long.

00:49:23.720 But for a

00:49:24.660 few months or

00:49:25.160 weeks he'll

00:49:25.680 be very gung

00:49:26.240 ho about it.

00:49:26.660 For instance I

00:49:27.500 use the example

00:49:28.060 of a watch.

00:49:28.940 Well in fact I

00:49:29.540 am thinking

00:49:29.980 about becoming

00:49:30.460 a watch guy.

00:49:31.400 Never worn

00:49:31.800 one before.

00:49:33.200 Randomly I

00:49:33.660 decided one

00:49:34.240 day maybe I'll

00:49:35.180 do the whole

00:49:35.520 watch thing.

00:49:36.000 I told my

00:49:36.320 wife.

00:49:36.920 I was excited.

00:49:37.500 I told her

00:49:37.860 because she was

00:49:38.200 asking me

00:49:42.540 watch you're

00:49:42.740 not a watch

00:49:43.140 guy.

00:49:43.640 And I said

00:49:43.940 I know but

00:49:44.440 we're going

00:49:44.640 to try this

00:49:45.080 out.

00:49:45.720 I'm going on

00:49:46.220 the watch

00:49:46.600 journey.

00:49:47.080 Who knows

00:49:47.400 where to

00:49:47.620 lead.

00:49:48.080 Let's get

00:49:48.420 crazy.

00:49:48.900 Let's throw 0.92

00:49:49.220 caution to

00:49:49.740 the wind.

00:49:50.500 Try this

00:49:50.880 whole watch

00:49:51.400 deal.

00:49:51.760 See what the

00:49:52.100 fuss is about.

00:49:53.080 So she'll

00:49:53.340 probably buy

00:49:53.840 me a watch.

00:49:54.420 I'll wear it

00:49:54.840 once and

00:49:56.200 never again

00:49:56.740 in my life.

00:49:57.860 That's how it

00:49:58.400 goes when a

00:49:58.800 man tries to

00:49:59.380 expand.

00:50:00.060 So it's sort

00:50:01.180 of the exception

00:50:01.720 that proves the

00:50:02.280 rule.

00:50:03.000 Finally this is

00:50:03.700 a note for

00:50:04.200 wives specifically. 1.00

00:50:06.640 Don't buy

00:50:07.220 your husband a

00:50:08.080 gift that's

00:50:08.780 really a gift

00:50:09.320 for you.

00:50:10.640 We see what

00:50:11.420 you're doing.

00:50:12.040 We're on to

00:50:12.520 you.

00:50:12.880 We know what

00:50:13.240 game you're

00:50:13.620 playing.

00:50:14.420 Ladies I'll 0.96

00:50:15.480 give you an

00:50:15.720 example.

00:50:16.520 My wife usually 0.98

00:50:17.480 an expert level

00:50:18.400 gift giver truly

00:50:19.260 a master of

00:50:19.860 the craft.

00:50:20.740 She can still 0.71

00:50:21.500 occasionally try

00:50:22.180 to sneak one

00:50:22.680 of these things

00:50:23.080 past me.

00:50:24.140 So recently

00:50:24.660 she gifted me

00:50:26.540 something that

00:50:27.840 is called and

00:50:28.520 I'm not making

00:50:29.340 this up a

00:50:30.720 beard bib.

00:50:32.120 So this is a

00:50:33.000 large bib that

00:50:34.380 yes a bib that

00:50:36.500 you wear when

00:50:37.800 you're trimming

00:50:38.160 your beard and

00:50:38.840 it attaches by

00:50:40.440 suction cups to

00:50:41.600 the mirror in

00:50:43.180 the bathroom.

00:50:44.100 You wear it

00:50:44.440 around your neck

00:50:44.960 and it goes to

00:50:45.560 the mirror.

00:50:46.060 And the idea is

00:50:47.660 that it catches

00:50:48.160 the beard

00:50:48.700 trimming so that

00:50:49.480 they don't clog

00:50:50.240 up the sink.

00:50:52.100 This is the

00:50:52.820 gift my wife

00:50:54.560 gets.

00:50:54.900 Why did she

00:50:55.280 give me this

00:50:55.640 generous gift?

00:50:56.180 Well because she 0.94

00:50:57.020 is tired of the

00:50:58.480 sink being clogged

00:50:59.280 with beard

00:51:00.000 trimmings.

00:51:00.420 I on the other

00:51:00.860 hand am not

00:51:01.840 tired of it.

00:51:02.400 I think it's

00:51:02.780 fine.

00:51:03.440 I think it's

00:51:03.800 not a big deal.

00:51:04.480 So this is a

00:51:05.580 gift that she

00:51:06.020 bought for

00:51:06.500 herself.

00:51:07.820 It's also

00:51:08.380 something that

00:51:08.900 I in a

00:51:09.500 million years

00:51:10.040 would never

00:51:10.520 use.

00:51:11.440 You could put 1.00

00:51:11.980 a gun to my 1.00

00:51:12.620 head and tell 1.00

00:51:13.260 me to choose 0.79

00:51:13.740 between a 0.90

00:51:14.180 bloody death

00:51:14.860 or the beard

00:51:15.520 bib and I

00:51:16.920 would take 0.99

00:51:17.320 death and it

00:51:18.300 would not be a

00:51:19.140 hard decision.

00:51:20.200 So the beard

00:51:21.000 bib violated

00:51:21.820 basically every

00:51:22.700 rule I've just

00:51:23.240 laid out.

00:51:23.720 It's a type of

00:51:24.400 thing I've

00:51:24.780 certainly never

00:51:25.600 used and would

00:51:26.880 never use and

00:51:28.240 it's a gift for

00:51:28.760 my wife not for

00:51:29.500 me.

00:51:30.120 I'll let it

00:51:30.440 slide because my

00:51:31.200 wife bats like 1.00

00:51:31.840 900 with gifts but

00:51:32.840 still it's the sort

00:51:34.120 of thing you don't

00:51:34.580 want to do.

00:51:34.920 So, with all

00:51:36.520 that said, what

00:51:38.560 gift should you

00:51:39.520 buy the dad in

00:51:40.900 your life?

00:51:42.480 And I'll tell

00:51:43.040 you, and this

00:51:43.660 may sound like an

00:51:44.380 unhelpful answer

00:51:45.100 but it is the

00:51:46.900 answer.

00:51:47.800 Okay?

00:51:48.040 And this is all

00:51:48.480 you need.

00:51:48.720 So you don't

00:51:48.900 need a million

00:51:49.520 articles online all

00:51:50.480 the time.

00:51:50.940 What do you buy

00:51:51.520 the dad in your

00:51:52.240 life?

00:51:52.720 I'll tell you.

00:51:53.700 Forget about it.

00:51:54.340 You don't need

00:51:54.600 any of the articles.

00:51:55.340 I'm telling you

00:51:55.700 right now.

00:51:57.520 Just buy him

00:51:58.540 something that he

00:52:00.440 likes.

00:52:00.820 That's it.

00:52:03.680 Every dad has

00:52:04.940 about three, maybe

00:52:06.520 four things that

00:52:07.740 he likes.

00:52:09.280 No dad likes more

00:52:10.720 than five things.

00:52:11.700 Five is the top.

00:52:12.960 No one likes five

00:52:14.080 things at most.

00:52:15.300 Some like fewer

00:52:16.040 than three.

00:52:16.820 There are dads who

00:52:17.340 only like one

00:52:17.900 thing.

00:52:18.960 But usually it's

00:52:19.840 like three, three to

00:52:20.440 four.

00:52:20.920 That's the average.

00:52:22.240 So, for example, I'll

00:52:22.900 give you another

00:52:23.140 example.

00:52:23.440 My dad likes to

00:52:25.080 eat at Ruby

00:52:25.840 Tuesday.

00:52:26.840 It's one of the

00:52:27.480 three things he

00:52:28.140 likes.

00:52:29.100 Ruby Tuesday, it's

00:52:29.760 not my thing.

00:52:30.360 I don't quite

00:52:30.940 understand his

00:52:31.620 brand loyalty to

00:52:32.400 Ruby Tuesday, but

00:52:33.100 that's fine.

00:52:34.120 My dad likes it.

00:52:34.960 So, over the

00:52:35.960 years, I have

00:52:37.080 probably given him

00:52:37.760 a gift card to

00:52:38.460 Ruby Tuesday for

00:52:39.260 probably like 20

00:52:40.360 different gift-giving

00:52:41.280 occasions.

00:52:43.200 And so, my wife,

00:52:44.560 every year, she'll

00:52:45.980 look at that and

00:52:46.640 say, it's hard to

00:52:47.500 figure out what to

00:52:49.000 get your dad.

00:52:49.560 And I say, what do

00:52:50.720 you mean it's hard?

00:52:51.340 He likes Ruby

00:52:51.860 Tuesday.

00:52:52.640 What's complicated

00:52:53.280 about this?

00:52:53.940 It's not hard.

00:52:55.100 This is what he

00:52:55.740 likes.

00:52:56.020 Just get him that.

00:52:57.320 See, when people

00:52:57.780 say that their dad

00:52:58.720 or husband is hard

00:52:59.480 to shop for,

00:53:00.360 which you hear a

00:53:01.240 lot, what they

00:53:02.780 mean is that it's

00:53:03.580 hard to find them

00:53:04.420 a gift other than

00:53:05.600 the three kinds of

00:53:06.520 gifts that he likes.

00:53:09.100 They feel like they

00:53:10.240 need to switch it up,

00:53:11.260 get creative, expand

00:53:12.300 his horizons.

00:53:13.020 No.

00:53:13.780 We don't want our

00:53:14.500 horizons expanded.

00:53:15.900 We've set our

00:53:16.720 horizons exactly where

00:53:18.240 we want them, and they

00:53:19.360 will stay there until 0.99

00:53:20.560 we die. 0.91

00:53:21.720 And that's it.

00:53:22.740 All that said, we

00:53:26.080 don't care that

00:53:26.600 much, so you

00:53:27.240 really just get

00:53:27.800 whatever you want.

00:53:28.500 It's fine.

00:53:29.720 I mean, in truth, if

00:53:30.560 we want something, we'll

00:53:31.420 just buy it for

00:53:32.000 ourselves anyway, so

00:53:33.020 the whole thing is

00:53:33.900 sort of pointless.

00:53:35.360 Even so, for the

00:53:36.080 record, these are the

00:53:38.120 gift-giving rules, and

00:53:39.760 these are the dad

00:53:40.500 gifts that are today

00:53:42.020 canceled.

00:53:44.200 That'll do it for the

00:53:44.800 show today.

00:53:45.100 Thanks for watching.

00:53:45.660 Thanks for listening.

00:53:46.760 Talk to you tomorrow.

00:53:56.600 Shapiro Show, Bill

00:53:57.460 Burr, Jimmy Kimmel, a

00:53:58.440 University of

00:53:59.020 Pennsylvania professor,

00:53:59.940 and Joy Reid all smile

00:54:01.080 at the murder of the

00:54:02.060 UnitedHealthcare CEO.

00:54:03.440 AOC and Jamal

00:54:04.040 Bowman lose their minds 1.00

00:54:04.960 over Daniel Penny's

00:54:05.700 acquittal, and Donald

00:54:06.520 Trump prepares to

00:54:07.160 unleash the forces of

00:54:08.080 the market.

00:54:08.520 That's today on the

00:54:09.020 Ben Shapiro Show.

00:54:09.500 Give it a listen.
