Summary

Joe Biden has been accused of sexual assault by a woman who says she was sexually assaulted by him in 1993. Should we believe her? And should we hold him to the same standard as other women who have come forward with similar accusations against him? Plus, a police department in the UK is trying to turn Black Mirror into a real life thing, and it s pretty creepy.

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, Joe Biden has been, as the media would say if it was a Republican,
00:00:05.620 credibly accused of sexual assault. The media and the Me Too movement have shown
00:00:09.620 zero interest in this story. They are just not interested at all. Their plan is to ignore it.
00:00:15.740 But Joe Biden is, unfortunately for him, on the record saying that we should believe women
00:00:20.540 in these situations. We should just believe them. So the question is, shouldn't we hold
00:00:25.820 Joe Biden to his own standard? That's what we'll talk about today. Also, five headlines,
00:00:30.100 including the media celebrating, celebrating over the fact that the U.S. has supposedly
00:00:34.640 now the most coronavirus cases of any country in the world. But there's a big problem with that
00:00:40.460 statistic, and we'll discuss that. And today we cancel a police department in the U.K. that is
00:00:46.280 essentially trying to turn Black Mirror into a real life thing. And it's pretty creepy. We'll
00:00:53.400 talk about that coming up. So all of that on the way. But first, a quick word from liquid IV.
00:00:59.620 You know, this is, I would say, to put it mildly, this is not a good time to let your body get
00:01:06.500 dehydrated. I think you need to stay healthy. And that's just in general across the board,
00:01:10.580 not just in these times, but in general. You know, it's staying hydrated, making sure that
00:01:17.280 really the goal is you don't want to get to a point in the day where you're really thirsty,
00:01:20.800 because that means you're already in the process of being dehydrated. Liquid IV,
00:01:24.900 cellular transport technology, delivers an optional ratio of nutrients for more efficient uptake.
00:01:33.540 And probably means optimal, probably optimal ratio. Either way, enhanced rapid absorption in the
00:01:40.360 bloodstream gives you a lasting energy boost. And it does that very fast. It powers your mornings,
00:01:45.240 fuels long days at work. You know, what I'll do is I'll start the morning with it.
00:01:48.900 And I found that it's even better, you know, getting really well hydrated. It's much better
00:01:55.160 than coffee, because coffee also dehydrates you. Liquid IV is the fastest growing wellness brand,
00:01:59.880 and you can find them everywhere these days. Find Liquid IV's hydration multiplier at your local
00:02:04.580 Costco. You can find it at Whole Foods, all the places that are still open, by the way. You can find
00:02:09.140 them there. And that's, and I, you know, I could not personally recommend it enough. And it's,
00:02:14.280 as I've been, you know, using the Liquid IV, I've been staying more hydrated. I really feel the
00:02:18.220 difference as well. You can get 25% off when you go to liquidiv.com and use code Walsh at checkout.
00:02:23.800 That's 25% off anything you order on Liquid IV's website. Just go to liquidiv, liquidiv.com. Enter
00:02:30.040 code Walsh and save 25% off and get better hydration, better energy. That's liquidiv.com,
00:02:36.320 promo code Walsh. Don't wait. Start fueling your adventures today. Okay, let's get right into this.
00:02:45.560 A woman by the name of Tara Reid alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Joe Biden back in 1993.
00:02:51.780 Reid worked for Biden when he was a senator back in 93 for about nine months, apparently.
00:02:58.780 Now, a little bit of background. She says, and this is entirely consistent with what we've seen
00:03:03.320 and what we've heard from other women. She says that before we even get to the assault,
00:03:07.460 she says that he was very handsy, very inappropriate in the workplace with the way that he,
00:03:13.020 what he dealt with, especially women. He would often grab women, grope them, and so on.
00:03:18.740 She says that she did report him officially through the normal chain of command for sexual harassment,
00:03:24.880 not for the assault, but she reported the harassment way back when. And now, so that's the
00:03:34.420 background of sort of the general environment in the workplace. Now, when we get to the sexual assault,
00:03:40.840 I think for that, rather than me describing it, we will let Tara Reid, in her own words,
00:03:46.800 describe it. She was on the Katie Helper show a couple days ago, talking about, describing her
00:03:53.200 assault. I'm going to play it for you now. A warning, it is a little bit graphic, so just a
00:03:57.940 fair warning ahead of time, especially if you have kids in the room, maybe you want to listen to this
00:04:01.720 later. But here's Tara Reid talking about the alleged assault that she suffered at the hands of
00:04:06.920 Joe Biden. He just said, Hey, come here, Tara. And then I, I handed him the thing and he greeted me.
00:04:13.200 He remembered my name. And then it, we were alone and it was the strangest thing. There was no like
00:04:21.320 exchange, really. He just had me up against the wall. And, um, I was wearing like a skirt and,
00:04:31.300 you know, business skirt, but I wasn't wearing stockings. It was kind of a hot day that day.
00:04:36.280 And I was wearing heels. And I remember my legs had been hurting from the marble, you know, of the
00:04:41.840 Capitol, like walking. And I, so I remember that kind of stuff. I remember like that, and it was
00:04:48.040 kind of an unusually warm day. And I remember I was wearing a blouse and he just had me up against the
00:04:53.400 wall and the wall was cold. And I remember he, it happened all at once. The gym bag, I don't know
00:05:00.500 where it went. I handed it to him. It was gone. And then his hands were on me and underneath my
00:05:04.300 clothes. And, um, yeah. And then he went, oh, he went down my skirt, but then up inside it. And he,
00:05:15.300 uh, penetrated me with his fingers. And, um, I, uh, he was kissing me at the same time and he was
00:05:26.400 saying something to me. He said several things and I can't remember everything he said. I remember
00:05:31.240 a couple of things. I remember him saying first before, like, as he was doing it, do you want to
00:05:36.800 go somewhere else? And then him saying to me, when I pulled away, he, um, got finished doing what he
00:05:45.040 was doing. And I kind of was pulled back and he said, he said, come on, man, I heard you liked me.
00:05:50.800 Now there are no witnesses to this. Uh, she did apparently though, tell her brother, uh, and, and
00:05:58.720 her friends. So she told two people, she says the intercept, which is a different media outlet.
00:06:03.320 They spoke with the brother and the friend. And, and both of those people confirmed that she
00:06:07.660 reported the assault to them back when it allegedly happened beyond, beyond that, there's no evidence.
00:06:13.220 So what should we do about this? There are aspects of it that do make it credible on its own
00:06:19.640 terms. I think we know that Biden does get handsy with women. We know that we've seen it ourselves
00:06:24.220 with our own eyes. We know that he's been accused of inappropriate conduct in the past and, um,
00:06:29.380 from other women. And again, we've seen it ourselves. She says she reported harassment back in 1993.
00:06:35.020 She also says that she told two people about the assault, the alleged assault when it happened
00:06:38.980 and they confirm it. Now that's pretty significant because Ford, Christine Ford with Kavanaugh,
00:06:44.820 she didn't have that. She didn't have anyone come out and say, oh yeah, you know,
00:06:49.140 she told me about this when it happened back 30 years ago. In fact, it was the opposite. She had
00:06:54.000 people come out and say, I knew her. I was her best friend. Uh, and she never told me a damn thing
00:06:59.540 about this. Now, does it mean that an accusation is true just because a woman told her friend about
00:07:05.220 it back when it supposedly happened? No, but it does seem to rule out the possibility that this was
00:07:11.040 cooked up in the spur of the moment recently as a way to get attention or something during a political
00:07:15.940 campaign, uh, or as a way to destroy a political foe because, because then why,
00:07:22.840 why would she have invented it? The story 26, 27 years ago, only to tell two people and then come
00:07:31.340 forward all these years later. It doesn't seem like what you would do if you were just making
00:07:36.280 something up for political reasons or, uh, in order to sue somebody and get money, you know,
00:07:41.940 all of the motivations that I think do sometimes lead people to inventing, uh, false allegations.
00:07:49.100 Now, again, does that mean that it really happened? No, it doesn't mean that necessarily.
00:07:55.480 We don't know what happened. There should be a presumption of innocence.
00:07:59.320 At least I believe in a presumption of innocence. Um, you know, and, and, and, and we'll stop there
00:08:09.840 for a minute because we know that the court of public opinion doesn't necessarily function that
00:08:15.900 well, we know doesn't function like the court of law and shouldn't always function like a court of law.
00:08:21.300 I mean, for example, um, I have no problem sitting here and saying, I think that OJ Simpson
00:08:26.580 is guilty of double murder. I absolutely believe that 100%. Uh, he was found, you know, not guilty
00:08:34.040 in a court of law. So a court of law has to operate by certain, certain rules, certain laws that are
00:08:40.220 necessary, but that doesn't mean that we as individuals can't just use our common sense and
00:08:45.140 look at a situation and say, yeah, I think he did, even if he was found not guilty. Uh, but when we have
00:08:51.940 a circumstance like this, an accusation years later, decades later, where there's no real
00:08:57.140 evidence at all, um, then what do you do that? I think you do. Even the court of public opinion
00:09:02.080 should most of the time function like a court of law. And we say, well, look, all we can do is,
00:09:07.240 you know, we, I guess we have to get the benefit of the doubt to the accused in this case, because
00:09:11.540 there's no evidence. But the problem though for Biden is that someone once said, actually very
00:09:20.760 recently said, and I'll give you a quote. This is what somebody said. Somebody said for a woman to
00:09:25.280 come forward in the glaring lights of focus nationally, you've got to start off with the
00:09:30.180 presumption that at least the essence of what she's talking about is real. And of course, the person who
00:09:36.300 said that was Joe Biden. Biden said that about the Kavanaugh hearings only what a year ago, um, in
00:09:44.120 reference to Ford's allegations against Kavanaugh. That's his standard. That's the standard that he
00:09:50.120 said. And he, he's, there's, there's plenty of other stuff, uh, in, in this vein. Here he is. I'll
00:09:56.440 play a quick clip for you. Here he is on the today show talking about the Kavanaugh, uh, allegations
00:10:01.760 and relating it back to Anita Hill as well. Listen to what he says here. The woman should be given the
00:10:07.200 benefit of the doubt and not be, not be, uh, um, you know, uh, abused again by the system. My biggest regret
00:10:14.780 was I didn't know how I could shut you off if you were a senator and you were attacking Anita Hill's
00:10:19.460 character under the Senate rules. I can't gabble you down and say, you can't ask that question,
00:10:23.960 although I tried. And so what happened was she got victimized again during, during the process.
00:10:29.480 And, uh, um, I believed her when she came forward. I encouraged her to come forward. We were in a
00:10:37.020 position where we got the FBI to do an investigation. Um, and I voted against Clarence Thomas. He only got
00:10:43.780 seven votes. He got seven yes and seven no's. It was a tie vote in the committee, but I hope that
00:10:48.680 they understand what courage it takes for someone to come forward and relive what they let they
00:10:55.980 believe happened to them. The woman should be given the benefit of the doubt, not be abused again,
00:11:03.520 victimized again. I believed her. These are all the things that he's saying.
00:11:08.960 Now we'll, we'll talk more about this in just a second, but before we do, uh, I want to tell you
00:11:15.180 about a new sponsor on the show that I'm, that I am especially very excited about. Um, and that is
00:11:21.060 Beard Supply. Okay. Now, if you're sitting at home and you're, you're trying to grow the,
00:11:26.300 the quarantine beard, as I know a lot of people are, uh, I, what I cannot stress enough is the
00:11:33.000 importance of beard hygiene. You got to keep everything. And I know we can all let our hygiene
00:11:37.560 slip. We can all let our appearance slip in these times, but you have to have respect for your beard
00:11:43.420 as a man. And so you still should practice good beard hygiene and, uh, and keep everything in top
00:11:49.300 shape. And that's what you need beer supply for. Beards can get dry. They can get itchy. Uh, they
00:11:54.780 can, I hate to say this, it sounds heretical, but they can even look bad. Sometimes they can look bad
00:11:59.360 if you don't take care of them. Now I'm, uh, I'm speaking from experience because I've had, you know,
00:12:04.280 I, when I first tried to try to grow a beard, it looked, I just, it looked like Tom Hanks and
00:12:09.660 Castaway. It was not very good. Beard Supply though, helps keep, keep your beard healthy,
00:12:14.100 itch-free, soft, and also smelling great. And it's right on your face. So you want it to smell
00:12:17.880 good too. That's the other part of beards. And, uh, more than 10,000 beards agree. Beard Supply
00:12:21.540 products are the best out there. 10,000 beards can't be wrong. One beard cannot be wrong.
00:12:26.540 I believe beards. Just listen to what some of these beards are saying. Jacob's Beard says,
00:12:31.000 uh, Chuck Norris added me to his list of worthy opponents after I used Beard Supply. So that's
00:12:35.420 a pretty good, that's a, that's a good, uh, endorsement there. Paul's Beard says,
00:12:40.340 this is simply the best beard oil I have ever tried. Each Beard Supply beard oil is handcrafted
00:12:46.260 from 100% natural ingredients with no synthetics, no mass market essentials. Uh, nothing like that.
00:12:51.500 This stuff is basically just squeezed right out of the earth directly onto your beard, which
00:12:55.680 is the way it should be. Plus they come in tons of great smells like, uh, the woods,
00:13:00.380 or winter, which has a year or the year 1975 also has a smell. So you could join Jacob,
00:13:07.880 Paul, and thousands of other bearded guys who are enjoying softer, better smelling,
00:13:11.040 better smelling, less itchy beards for short time. Beard Supply is offering Matt Walsh show
00:13:14.880 listeners 25% off. Just go to beard supply.com use promo code Walsh. Again, that's beard supply.com
00:13:21.680 beard supply.com promo code Walsh. Okay. So we just played for you what, uh, Joe Biden has said
00:13:30.080 in reference to allegations against men by women, accusing them of sexual assault. Um,
00:13:36.860 now, according to Joe Biden, at least on the two occasions, when there was a conservative justice,
00:13:42.520 he wanted to keep off the court. In those cases, we should give accusers the benefit of doubt.
00:13:48.920 We should presume that what they're saying is true in essence and not abuse them again,
00:13:55.000 which of course insinuates that they were abused the first time by asking too many questions or
00:13:59.640 whatever else. That's Biden standards, his rule. Should we apply this standard then to Joe Biden?
00:14:06.920 Should we apply the Biden standard to Biden? I say, yes, we should. It's only out of a, it's only,
00:14:15.260 I think it's a matter of respect for him that we do that. He's told us how he wants us to handle
00:14:21.500 these situations. And, uh, he wants a presumption of guilt for the man who is accused. He told us
00:14:27.260 that. So I think all we can do here is respect his wishes. This is what he wants, not what I want.
00:14:34.480 It's what he wants. Isn't that the fair thing to say, well, okay, Joe, this is what you want. This is,
00:14:40.060 you told us to handle these situations this way. So that's what we're going to do. Are we going to
00:14:44.600 disrespect Joe Biden by giving him the presumption of innocence when he's been very clear and very
00:14:50.020 consistent that he doesn't think that should be applied to the man? Why should we? So I'll say
00:14:57.220 right now, you know, I believe her. I believe this woman. I believe Tara Reid. Believe all women,
00:15:01.560 right? I believe her. That's not my philosophy, but I think, you know, I'm going to let you have
00:15:10.960 your philosophy, no double standards. You get one standard, one standard. I think everybody should
00:15:18.080 get one standard when it comes to these things. That's all you get. You don't get two. And if you've
00:15:23.480 said, if you've made it clear that the standard should be, believe all women, then guess what?
00:15:29.040 That's what you get. If you like your standard, you can keep your standard. How about that?
00:15:36.880 And I think we have to hold these hypocrites to their own standards because they're not going to
00:15:42.020 do it. They don't have that kind of integrity. What's the other option? We're just going to allow
00:15:48.700 them to pick up a different standard depending on the situation. By the way, speaking of lacking
00:15:54.640 integrity and double standards, Reid went to the Me Too movement with this story and they had no
00:15:59.880 interest in it. Here's what the Federalist reports, reading now from a Federalist article
00:16:03.500 based on the Intercepts reporting, says the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund, a fund administered by the
00:16:10.720 National Women's Law Center, declined the chance to defend one of former Vice President Joe Biden's
00:16:14.540 sexual harassment accusers, citing its nonprofit status and his presidential run. On Tuesday,
00:16:20.020 The Intercepts' Ryan Grimm reported that Tara Reid, one of several women to come forward with credible
00:16:24.320 allegations of harassment against Biden last spring, not just harassment but assault, was turned away
00:16:30.140 from the preeminent Me Too legal institution when she sought help with her case. Time's Up argued that
00:16:34.980 the case was too political considering that Biden was a candidate for president. The article goes on from
00:16:40.760 there. So the Me Too movement, which has told us to believe all women, all of a sudden isn't so
00:16:48.940 interested in that anymore, are they? And the mainstream media, do you understand the mainstream
00:16:54.720 media has given this story, many mainstream outlets have given this story, zero coverage. No coverage
00:17:00.500 at all. Haven't even mentioned it. Now usually with stuff like this, what they'll do is they'll
00:17:04.500 mention it so they can say they did, but they'll bury it. So they'll at least give it a mention most
00:17:10.120 of the time. With this, so far, a lot of these outlets have said nothing about it. Nothing.
00:17:15.400 Let's just pretend it doesn't exist. So what do we do? Do we go along with it? Do we let these
00:17:21.460 people dictate which accusations should be believed without question and which will be ignored as if
00:17:27.160 they never were made to begin with? No. Hell no. You know, I look at it like this. When you hear about
00:17:35.220 one of these family values conservative Republicans who gets caught in a gay affair or something. Now,
00:17:40.700 this doesn't happen nearly as often as the left would like us to believe. It doesn't happen nearly
00:17:44.960 as often as Hollywood portrays it. We know that it's like every other Hollywood script has a
00:17:52.500 closeted gay Republican in it. So it doesn't happen all that often, but it does happen.
00:17:57.180 It has happened a few times at least. And now someone like that gets caught in a situation like
00:18:04.400 that. They end up getting judged a lot more harshly and they're going to suffer a political
00:18:10.180 consequence far greater than what maybe another politician would suffer in the same sort of
00:18:15.960 situation. Why? Because they're having their own standard applied to them. Their own rhetoric,
00:18:20.540 their own statements are being tossed back in their direction. And that is fair. That seems fair to me
00:18:24.580 that it would work that way. It seems fair that, you know, if you're, if you're a, even if you're a
00:18:30.360 left winger and you see, you had, you, you wouldn't, you personally have no problem with
00:18:36.560 homosexual activity or even marital affairs, you can still call for harsh political consequences
00:18:42.580 for a conservative family values Republican caught up in that kind of situation on the basis that their
00:18:47.700 own standards should be applied to them in the name of justice, in the name of fairness, in the name
00:18:52.760 of consistency. And I agree with that. Well, same thing here. Same thing here. Jesus said,
00:18:58.940 live by the sword, die by the sword. That wasn't a prescription. Jesus wasn't saying that people
00:19:05.180 who live by the sword should die by the sword. He was just saying that that's what happens if you
00:19:09.860 live by the sword, such as life. And in the same way, if you live by, believe all women,
00:19:17.100 then you die by it. At least politically, you die by it. Fair is fair. I think one other point I want
00:19:24.900 to make about this before we move on. If a man says, believe all women, right? And that's what
00:19:33.280 Joe Biden has said. Now, maybe he hasn't used those words exactly, but that's what he said.
00:19:38.460 He said, if a woman makes an accusation, we should presume that at least the essence of what they're
00:19:44.020 saying is true, which means it's true. So what that means is, well, maybe a few of the details
00:19:50.700 are wrong because she forgot. It's been so many years, but the essence is true. So if, you know,
00:19:56.820 translated, according to Biden, if a woman says she was assaulted, we should believe that she was
00:20:02.120 assaulted, period. That's what he said. Believe all women, right? So now a man who takes that approach
00:20:08.360 and says, believe all women, there are two possible ways of interpreting it. Because obviously we know
00:20:14.840 as a principle, it's nonsense. It's insane. It's madness. Of course, we shouldn't really believe
00:20:23.860 all women any more than we should believe all men. Women can lie just like men can lie. But a man who
00:20:30.020 says, believe all women, I think there are two ways of interpreting that. There are two things that
00:20:35.020 might lead a man to say that. One is that he's a liar. He's a con artist. And he's saying something
00:20:40.220 that in this case is just for political gain. And he's just pretending to hold this view for
00:20:45.600 political gain. He's a liar, a con man, a charlatan. Okay. Maybe that's it. The other is that he has made
00:20:54.420 this judgment earnestly because he really believes that most men are degenerates and rapists.
00:21:02.080 So it's probably true when they're accused. And when they're accused, the accusations are probably
00:21:07.280 true. But on what could he base that judgment? Well, it seems likely that he's probably basing it
00:21:17.440 on himself. He knows that about himself and he's assuming that it's true of others. So this is
00:21:23.420 projection. So either way, whatever leads a man to say, believe all women, it does in fact mean as
00:21:32.260 a matter of logic, not just fairness, but I think as a matter of logic that when he is accused,
00:21:36.960 we have good reason to disbelieve the denials that he issues. Because by saying believe all women in
00:21:44.460 the past, it means either he's a liar, in which case we can't believe him in his denials,
00:21:49.080 or he's projected his own behavior onto other men because he himself is probably a degenerate,
00:21:57.340 in which case we can't trust his denials either. So I think either way,
00:22:01.520 a man who goes around saying that and then is accused, there's actually good logical reason to
00:22:08.500 think that he probably did it. And even if there isn't, as I said, one standard for everybody,
00:22:17.440 this nonsense of pretending to hold a certain viewpoint and you throw that to the side
00:22:23.380 whenever it's politically expedient, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is what you said.
00:22:29.440 That's the way the game is going to be played.
00:22:34.620 But of course, fortunately for Joe Biden, because the media isn't covering this,
00:22:38.640 he doesn't have to even address it. I'm not sure if he's even issued a denial yet.
00:22:41.440 Not because he's not going to deny it, but just because he doesn't have to.
00:22:46.220 Nobody's asked him about it.
00:22:49.860 Now we're going to go to headlines here in just a second. Before we do,
00:22:57.200 I want to tell you about another great sponsor on the show, Rad Power Bikes.
00:23:00.720 I think, especially these days, once again, we're all looking for ways to kill some time and have
00:23:11.300 some fun. And maybe you can't go to places where you're indoors around a lot of people anymore.
00:23:16.400 So you're looking for things that you can do outside, fun things that you can do that are
00:23:22.460 not the normal things of going in and being around other people. And that's where Rad Power Bikes comes
00:23:28.140 in. It's a cross between a traditional bike and a moped, but it doesn't require a special driver's
00:23:32.520 license like a moped would. You can go up to 20 miles per hour without pedaling.
00:23:36.400 So you can get out and about without getting all sweaty and everything. It's affordable.
00:23:43.320 You know, this is a bike start at $1,200 and all of them are under $1,500.
00:23:48.080 So I think that's something to really emphasize here. And any of the bikes you look at, Rad Power
00:23:52.180 Bikes can be under $1,500. Other eBikes can be in the $3,000 range or more.
00:23:58.620 So you don't have to worry about that here. It's great for commuting. You can get out on the
00:24:02.080 trail. You can haul groceries. You can transport your kids on the back, whether for practical
00:24:07.480 purposes or just for fun. And to show appreciation for those that serve us, Rad Power Bikes is
00:24:12.640 offering $100 off all eBike purchases for active slash ex-military first responders, teachers,
00:24:18.220 and students. It's a great thing to do anytime, especially now. Dedicated U.S.-based customer
00:24:24.440 support seven days a week to answer any questions or concerns that you might have. I cannot recommend
00:24:29.560 this enough. If you're looking for something just fun to do, we need to have some fun. Well,
00:24:33.620 how about Rad Power Bikes? Rad Power Bikes offers flexible financing for as low as 0% APR. And right
00:24:39.540 now, as a limited time offer, you can get a free accessory with the purchase of a bike. That's right.
00:24:43.460 Get a free gift up to $100 in value and free shipping to the lower 48 states. To get this
00:24:48.640 special offer, text the word BIKE to 64000. That's BIKE to 64000. Text BIKE to 64000.
00:24:58.360 All right, let's go to headlines. Number one, the media is reporting, celebrating really,
00:25:02.900 that the U.S. now supposedly has more coronavirus cases than any other country in the world.
00:25:07.960 So, leftists on social media have been ecstatic about this. Jim Acosta, especially, could hardly
00:25:14.440 hide the gloating tone in his tweets about it. But notice something. See all these headlines,
00:25:20.260 most cases, most cases in the world. Well, they all actually say confirmed cases or known cases or
00:25:28.400 reported cases. So, we have the most of that. We don't have the most cases. We have the most
00:25:34.040 confirmed known reported cases. So, what does that tell you? Well, it tells you essentially
00:25:40.120 nothing about how many cases we actually have in comparison to other countries. It tells you
00:25:45.680 nothing about that. All it tells you is that we've done the most tests, which we have. What a
00:25:52.780 coincidence. The country that does the most tests has the most cases. Interesting how that works.
00:25:58.400 Acosta also tweeted triumphantly, the U.S. has just passed China, a country four times larger in
00:26:06.300 population, in coronavirus cases. Yeah, but the thing is, Jimbo, in order for that to be true,
00:26:14.160 it needs to also be true that China and the U.S. have at least tested the same number of people,
00:26:19.320 which they haven't. And we need to be able to trust China's self-reported data, which we can't.
00:26:24.840 If you listen to China, they haven't had a new case in days. You know, they went from epidemic
00:26:30.940 to now they have just, it's all, it's gone. It's been cured. They've discovered the cure. It's a
00:26:37.580 miracle. Do you believe that? Does anyone really believe that? No, but the media is pretending to
00:26:45.680 believe and is, in fact, disseminating Chinese propaganda in order to get Trump. It is
00:26:50.800 traitorous, really. Number two, and this is becoming a daily occurrence, a rather delightful
00:26:58.680 daily occurrence. Dr. Birx, during a White House press briefing, once again, smacked down the press
00:27:04.940 for their coronavirus sensationalism. This woman is fantastic. I can't get enough of it. I think
00:27:09.920 it's great. Watch the latest here. We were reassured and meeting with our colleagues in New York
00:27:15.380 that there are still ICU beds remaining, and there's still significant over a thousand or
00:27:22.520 two thousand ventilators that have not been utilized yet. Please, for the reassurance of people around
00:27:28.820 the world to wake up this morning and look at people talking about creating DNR situations,
00:27:36.540 do not resuscitate situations for patients. There is no situation in the United States right now
00:27:43.280 that warrants that kind of discussion. You can be thinking about it in a hospital, certainly
00:27:50.420 many hospitals talk about this on a daily basis, but to say that to the American people, to make
00:27:56.240 the implication that when they need a hospital bed, it's not going to be there, or when they need
00:28:01.400 that ventilator, it's not going to be there. We don't have an evidence of that right now, and it's
00:28:07.300 our job collectively to assure the American people that it's our collective job to make sure that
00:28:12.580 doesn't happen. There's no model right now, I mean, no reality on the ground where we can see
00:28:18.120 that 60 to 70 percent of Americans are going to get infected in the next 8 to 12 weeks. I just want
00:28:25.360 to be clear about that. Okay, I want you to keep that in mind as we go to number three. This headline in
00:28:31.640 Yahoo, and in many other outlets as well, had it yesterday, blaring all over the place. Headline
00:28:37.060 is, U.S. virus deaths may top 80,000 despite confinement. 80,000 despite the fact that everyone's
00:28:44.440 locked down. The article continues, COVID-19 could lead to more than 80,000 deaths in the U.S.
00:28:49.660 and overwhelm hospital capacity nationally as soon as early April. As soon as early April,
00:28:55.060 which is in like, what, three days? New research showed on Thursday, the U.S. death toll for the
00:29:02.560 pandemic has already soared past 1,000 with 68,000 confirmed infections. Forecasters at the Institute
00:29:09.220 for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington School of Medicine analyzed the latest
00:29:14.420 COVID-19 data at a local, national, international level. These include hospitalization and mortality rates
00:29:19.580 as well as patient data, a date in terms of age, gender and pre-existing health conditions. Specifically,
00:29:26.460 they looked at the time lag between the first fatal cases and public intervention such as shuttering
00:29:31.380 schools and businesses, and they put all this together and they decided that 80,000 people are
00:29:36.440 going to die. There are 1,300 deaths right now, or thereabouts, here in the U.S. This study says it's
00:29:43.960 going to shoot up to 80,000 in a few days, really. Now, there are a lot of studies and a lot of models
00:29:51.000 at this point, a lot of projections, a lot of predictions by various different experts, and they
00:29:55.460 all say drastically different things. The question is, why is the media blaring this one all over the
00:30:02.700 place as opposed to any of the others? Well, we know the answer to that, of course. It's because it's
00:30:07.460 the scariest. It's significantly less scary than what they were predicting two weeks ago when they said
00:30:13.540 that, you know, two or three million or four million people are going to die. Now it's 80,000, but they're
00:30:19.380 always going to go with the scariest and put that in the headlines. That's how this works. That's what we've
00:30:23.460 learned, if we didn't know it already. Finally, some crucially important reporting from CNN. Well, this is
00:30:30.020 number four. I guess I don't have five. I can't count. Okay, we'll end on four. Five headlines is four
00:30:34.700 today. So CNN published a report or broadcast report, actually, that is really important. I
00:30:41.980 think it's life-saving, and I think we all will learn a lot from this. All right, I'm going to show
00:30:46.740 you how to wash your hands. Most people know how to do this, but always worth remembering. I'm just
00:30:51.540 going to wet my hands here, get plenty of soap, and just start rubbing your hands. And make sure you
00:30:57.480 really interlace your fingers like this, and then also turn your hands over. Don't forget the backs of
00:31:02.380 your hands. People often forget that. Both sides get it really well. And then I'll actually get
00:31:08.140 underneath the fingertips here, and even the nails a little bit to make sure you clean underneath there.
00:31:13.120 And then you got to get the thumbs. Thumbs are really important. Sing the happy birthday song
00:31:17.920 twice to yourself, and that usually will do it. And then I just sort of get the soap off my hands here
00:31:23.440 and there. And then here's the key. Before you turn the water off, dry your hands and use the same
00:31:32.520 paper towel. Turn off the water. You don't contaminate yourself. Oh, so that's how you do it.
00:31:38.820 See, I had no idea. I had thought, I've been doing it wrong this whole time. I thought that the way you
00:31:43.040 wash your hands is you stand on your head and yodel. That's the hand-washing maneuver I had been
00:31:49.560 using. I didn't realize that apparently you're supposed to use, what was it? What did he say?
00:31:54.400 It was a sop, sap. What was that thing? Soap. Soap. We're supposed to use soap. And you put your
00:32:02.940 hands under, what was it? I got to go back and look at it again. I didn't take notes.
00:32:09.220 Water. Soap and water is what you use. That's incredible. Thank you so much, CNN. See,
00:32:15.220 I'm glad that CNN is doing reports like this, telling us how to wash our hands,
00:32:18.160 rather than doing something like, I don't know, investigating and reporting the sexual assault
00:32:24.540 allegations against the Democratic frontrunner for the nomination for president. You know,
00:32:29.480 we don't want to do that. That's not newsworthy. Instead, let's bring a doctor in here to show us
00:32:35.180 how to wash our hands. Not patronizing at all, either, in the least. So thank you so much for
00:32:40.700 that, CNN. Now, we're going to go on to your daily cancellation, and it is quite a doozy this time.
00:32:45.540 But before we do, if you haven't had a chance to check out yet the All Access Live show, then I
00:32:51.380 would really recommend doing that. And in fact, eight o'clock tonight, Eastern time, 5 p.m. Pacific,
00:32:57.340 you can watch again. The thing about the All Access Live, it's very relaxed programming, more of a
00:33:01.880 casual kind of vibe, a conversation. So usually we put, I mean, you look at this set here, millions and
00:33:08.100 millions of dollars dumped into making this set look as magnificent as it does. But the All Access
00:33:16.380 Live isn't about that. It's just about the casual, at the end of a long day, in the middle of a very
00:33:21.380 long, what feels like an eternity of the last few weeks, it's a good time to just kind of sit there
00:33:26.860 and have a conversation. The show was originally intended for All Access members, but it's during
00:33:32.900 this national emergency. We've expanded it, extended it to all of our members, and in doing so, we've
00:33:38.240 accelerated the launch as well. So please join us tonight, 8 p.m. Eastern, 5 p.m. Pacific, for another
00:33:44.620 All Access show. It's a lot of fun. I think you'll enjoy it. Now, for your daily cancellation.
00:33:52.760 Today, we're canceling the Derbyshire Police, police department in the UK, obviously. What they've
00:33:59.120 been doing is they've been using drones to enforce their stay-at-home order. And anyone, so that means
00:34:05.560 anyone who's caught outside walking around is recorded by the drone, and then they're shamed
00:34:10.960 on social media for being outside. Already, we've got enough to cancel them. We don't have to go any
00:34:16.100 further. Already, we know, canceled, right? But you have to actually watch. You have to see this video
00:34:21.620 to appreciate just how ridiculous this is. Let me, I'll play it for you, and I'll follow along
00:34:30.200 as we watch this video that the Derbyshire Police, at Derbys Police on Twitter, they posted this to
00:34:37.780 Twitter. And let's check out the video. So it says, this is Kerbar Edge, it says. Now, you see out
00:34:45.020 there, in the middle of nowhere, these vehicles should not be here. Okay. They're out in the
00:34:52.160 middle of nowhere, on a field, in a park. And now we see walking your dog in the Peak District.
00:35:00.620 Not essential. Not essential. Humans, life forms, you are participating in not essential activity.
00:35:08.980 Go back to your homes. Going for a walk miles from home. Not essential. Your activity has been
00:35:15.680 judged. Not essential. Return to your domiciles, humans. Going out of your way for an Instagram
00:35:21.380 snap. Not essential. Not essential activity. Return to your domiciles. And now this one,
00:35:30.740 driving to a beauty spot for a stroll. Not essential. Can't do that either. You're going to get people sick.
00:35:35.380 I don't know how you're going to get people sick, but you will. Heading to the peaks to watch the
00:35:39.820 sunset. Not essential. Let's pause it here for just a minute. They're going to the peaks to watch
00:35:46.720 the sunset. You can't watch a sunset during a pandemic. You just can't do it. Why can't you do
00:35:53.780 it? I have no idea. It's dangerous during a pandemic to watch a sunset. Why is it dangerous? Don't know.
00:36:02.720 But the drone said it is. So you can't watch a sunset. Let's see the rest of this here.
00:36:12.520 The government advice is clear. You should only travel if it is essential.
00:36:21.060 Traveling to remote areas of the Peak District for your exercise is not essential.
00:36:25.280 We are all in this together. And then they end with the, please help us, please help us stay home,
00:36:32.240 save lives. I like how they end it with the little positive, the Orwellian positivity there at the end.
00:36:37.480 We're all in this together. Stay home and save lives. Let me ask you, people that are walking by
00:36:47.620 themselves down a country road in a field, not another human within sight, right? Literally not
00:36:57.440 another human within sight. How are they putting lives in jeopardy? How are they at risk of infecting
00:37:06.160 anybody else? There's nobody around them. They're in the wilderness. Are they at risk of getting
00:37:13.220 infected? Now, again, if this was the zombie apocalypse, and I know the media really wishes
00:37:19.400 it was a zombie apocalypse, and it seems like some law enforcement agencies kind of wish it was a
00:37:23.400 zombie apocalypse. I sort of wish it was a zombie apocalypse too, because frankly, this apocalypse has
00:37:28.140 been not as active as I thought. The apocalypse has involved a lot more sitting around than I imagine
00:37:39.320 that it would. So look, we would all prefer zombies, but there are no zombies. And so if you're walking
00:37:45.120 down the countryside, there really isn't any danger of something jumping out from behind a tree or from
00:37:51.620 behind a bush and infecting you. That's not how viruses are transmitted. My question to the Derbyshire
00:37:56.940 police, how do you think, what is your theory of transmission for this disease? How do you think
00:38:02.500 it's transmitted? Do you think that somebody sitting in their homes 50 miles away, who's infected with
00:38:09.140 the coronavirus, do you think the virus is going to jump out of their mouths and like crawl speedily
00:38:15.240 across the carpet, open the door, go outside, maybe hop on a bus, go to a bus station, get out,
00:38:22.880 travel across the field 14 miles, and then hide behind a curb, a curb. And as soon as a person comes
00:38:29.920 walking around there, jump out, right? Like attack their face, crawl into their nose. Is that how you
00:38:37.660 think it works? Now, if the government has information indicating that the virus does spread
00:38:46.800 that way, then please let us know. Because if that's the case, I will definitely be staying inside
00:38:51.220 my house and not leaving for any reason whatsoever. But I'm pretty sure that this virus is spread
00:38:56.180 mainly by like if somebody, you know, if you touch something that someone left their bodily fluids on
00:39:01.660 and then you put your hands in your mouth, spread that way. If they cough, like right in your face,
00:39:06.880 spread that way. Not essential. Yeah, you're right. These are not essential activities. But you know what?
00:39:14.780 This is what makes us human. The fact that we participate in non-essential activities,
00:39:20.620 that's what makes us human. Yeah, a squirrel or a deer or porcupine isn't going to stop to watch a
00:39:27.580 sunset. Humans do. It's what makes us human. And so you can't tell us that during a pandemic,
00:39:33.740 we have to cease participating in all human activity and pretend to be bears hibernating
00:39:40.240 in a cave somewhere. There's just no reason whatsoever why people can't go out for a walk
00:39:48.640 in the countryside. There's just no reason. There's no reason for that. This is a power trip
00:39:53.220 by the government. That's what it is. And the problem is, if we start to see that the government
00:40:02.100 is having a power trip, not just the Derbyshire police, but we talked yesterday about Chicago,
00:40:07.840 the Chicago mayor is saying, hey, if you want to go outside your house, you go out briefly,
00:40:11.540 you go back in. Being outside is not for 5Ks. I think that was her exact phrase. She's now telling
00:40:18.460 us what the outside is for. If you're in Chicago, the mayor has decided what outside exists for.
00:40:24.340 The entire outside, she'll tell you what it's for. Okay. This is her outside, not yours.
00:40:30.120 These are the things you're allowed to do outside. Anything less than that, get back inside, you peasant.
00:40:37.980 But when we start to see these naked power trips, not literally naked, hopefully,
00:40:45.940 but when we start to see these power trips, then we start thinking, okay, well, they're obviously
00:40:50.000 power tripping over here with this. What else of this is a power trip?
00:40:55.900 Let's go to emails. You can become a Daily Wire member and send emails to the mailbag from Ben.
00:41:01.120 This says, hello, Matt. Since on quarantine, I thought it'd be a good idea to begin to grow some
00:41:04.600 facial hair. So far, I've gone a week without shaving. I have a few questions. Will the constant
00:41:09.140 annoying itching disappear as my facial hair grows longer? Or should I be using a beard product of
00:41:15.520 sorts to reduce this sensation? How long should I wait until I cut my losses and accept that my facial
00:41:21.100 hair won't look very good? How will I know if I should go with the style of full facial hair or
00:41:26.600 just a partial? Any other beginner tips would be appreciated too. Thank you for your time and hope
00:41:32.160 you and the family are staying healthy. Ben, first of all, stop whining about the itching.
00:41:38.940 You are unworthy of your beard when you're sitting there whining and bitching about the itching.
00:41:44.400 It should be forcibly removed from your face. You should be grateful that you're growing a beard.
00:41:51.840 You should be ecstatic that you are joining now the ranks of bearded men. That is, you're joining the
00:41:57.300 ranks of real men. You are now a man or becoming one for the first time in your life. Gratitude
00:42:04.240 and humility are the two attitudes that you should be bringing to this endeavor.
00:42:12.540 Not one of complaint and entitlement. That is for the baby-faced freaks, okay? And that is the group
00:42:20.720 that you are leaving, and rightfully so. Don't be like them. Second, yes, you should be using product.
00:42:27.300 You can get beard oil, beard balm, beard wax, beard condition. We just talked about beard supply,
00:42:31.080 okay? Beard supply, great, great place to look. I tend to use many products for my beard. And not
00:42:38.460 right now because I have a very short beard, the beard of a child at the moment, much to my shame. But
00:42:43.200 when I have a real beard, my beard prepping routine usually takes about seven to eight hours.
00:42:50.260 So the day is basically over by the time I'm done preparing my beard. And really, it's kind of
00:42:55.600 destroyed my life because all I ever do is prepare my beard. And it's become a whole thing. But don't
00:42:59.940 focus on that. The main thing is you want to make sure that your beard is properly prepped. When should
00:43:05.080 you cut your losses and accept that your facial hair won't look good? Well, I just want to be clear
00:43:09.720 about this. If your beard doesn't look good, it's not your beard's fault. It is your fault. It is your
00:43:15.920 face's fault, okay? So don't blame it on the beard. Don't take it out on the beard.
00:43:20.180 As a man, the primary responsibility of your face is to serve as a platform for your beard.
00:43:28.900 So if you're looking at your beard and thinking, this looks weird, no, it's your face that's weird.
00:43:33.400 Okay? Your face is failing in its responsibility. Your face is a disgrace. So that's all I would say
00:43:40.360 about that. If you're thinking my beard looks weird, just consider the possibility that you are
00:43:47.080 a hideous person. And that's why. Take it from me, okay? So I know that about myself.
00:43:57.080 It's not my, anytime I have a problem with the beard, it's not the beard. It's not this part
00:44:00.580 down here. It's all up here, okay? This is all a mess and out of place. This is the good part of my
00:44:06.160 face. This is the only good part of my face. This up here is, you know, makes me want to become a
00:44:13.660 Muslim woman. I could wear like a burqa or something to hide it. But that's, the point is, that is not,
00:44:18.700 don't take it out on your beard. That's all I'm trying to tell you. Okay, let's go to Adam. Says,
00:44:23.240 Matt, you're wrong about the stimulus checks. You say we might as well burn the money because it's
00:44:26.880 not going to pay everyone's bills. That's obviously stupid. And it sounds like you're just, you just like
00:44:32.320 to complain. How about be happy that they're trying to do something at least? It may not be great,
00:44:38.340 but it's something. Why not try some gratitude for a change? Your negativity is exhausting.
00:44:44.900 Right. Okay, Adam, a few problems here. First of all, my point about the stimulus checks is that
00:44:49.600 we're sending checks to a lot of people who don't need it. There are going to be a lot of people who
00:44:53.760 still have an income, and we're sending them however many millions or billions of dollars are
00:44:59.680 being spent on people like this. Have an income, they're working from home, or, you know, maybe they
00:45:04.960 work at a place that hasn't closed down, and they're still in the exact same spot they were now
00:45:10.340 that they were before all this started. What are we sending them money for? I don't think we could
00:45:16.380 just say, ah, you know, yeah, a couple billion bucks we wasted on them. So, no big deal. What's a few
00:45:21.460 billion between friends? No, what are we sending them money for? And then there are many people who
00:45:27.940 don't have an income and won't get a check because they made too much money two years ago. Too much,
00:45:34.580 according to the government's arbitrary cutoff line. And then there are a lot of other people
00:45:39.020 who do need it and will get it. But how many of them will actually be able to live on 1,200 bucks
00:45:45.760 for the duration of the lockdown? A few, maybe? What percentage? The rest are still going to have
00:45:51.380 to find some other income stream, or they're going to be out on the street, not able to afford food.
00:45:55.960 It's like, either way, right? The stimulus money in and of itself for those people doesn't do a whole lot.
00:46:01.180 Now, if you have no income stream right now, and because the government's taken it from you,
00:46:06.680 and your mortgage is $2,000, you can't just send in 1,200. Most landlords, if you owe,
00:46:16.200 if you owe 1,500 bucks in rent, and with most landlords anyway, you can't just give them 1,200
00:46:21.320 and say, let's just call it 12. We'll call it even. What do you say? What do you say?
00:46:25.440 Okay. They're going to say, no, I need the full amount. And so, you know, having part of your rent
00:46:30.660 effectively ends up, it's not much better than having none. Now, look, if it were free,
00:46:38.380 if we had a magical money tree, and there were no cost to this, then sure, I'd say, who cares?
00:46:44.200 Whatever. You know, $1,200 is better than nothing. Just send it. But it's not free. This costs trillions
00:46:49.240 of dollars. It's going to be $6 trillion all in. $6 trillion debt that will be on the shoulders of
00:46:55.640 our children to deal with. So call me crazy, Adam, but I'd prefer if it actually made a positive
00:47:05.320 impact, a substantial, noticeable, positive impact, an impact that is worth the enormous,
00:47:11.560 astronomical, inconceivable cost attached to it. And I haven't even gotten into all the left-wing
00:47:19.220 pork. I haven't gotten into, you know, how the bill in some ways incentivizes companies to lay
00:47:25.900 off employees. I mean, there are so many problems with this bill. I haven't even gotten into that.
00:47:31.620 Now, as to this idea that I should be positive and cheerful and happy, at least they did something.
00:47:37.500 I find that idea nauseating, frankly. When you say they, oh, they did something. Who are they?
00:47:43.980 Are we talking about children? I mean, yeah, they're emotional and mental children that we
00:47:49.760 have in Congress, but actual children? No. Are these my kids who drew me a picture and I should
00:47:54.260 be happy with it, even if it kind of sucks? I should say, oh, well, oh, this is beautiful. Thank you so
00:47:59.480 much. It's so great. What a great picture. Pat him on the head. No. These are lawmakers. These are
00:48:05.980 people in power. These are people who hold the purse strings, that have the money, your money,
00:48:10.660 money. My money. Okay? We shouldn't smile and nod and say, oh, at least you tried. At least you
00:48:17.540 tried. You did something. Thank you so much. Thank you. Yeah, this bill is an absolute garbage
00:48:22.980 heap. It costs $6 trillion, putting us even deeper in debt, debt that's going to be on our children.
00:48:26.980 But thank you so much. Thank you for trying. You tried. Thank you so much, lawmakers.
00:48:34.320 Bullcrap. You think they have that attitude towards you? When the government comes around come tax day,
00:48:39.100 and says, you owe X amount, you know, can you just send the IRS like a couple of paper clips and
00:48:47.700 a pack of fruit snacks and say, hey, you know, this is what I tried. I'm trying. I tried to give you
00:48:54.980 something. It's something better than nothing. I gave you something. No, they're going to say,
00:49:00.840 no, no, no, not something. This is how much you owe. Give us that full amount. Okay? Or you can work
00:49:06.520 out a payment plan, but give us the full amount, or you're going to jail. How about that, bud?
00:49:10.880 That's what the government says to you. The government makes demands of you and says,
00:49:15.440 do this, exactly this, or jail. And so you want to turn around and respond to them by saying,
00:49:24.360 well, you know, you don't really have to even do anything. Just try. Just give it a,
00:49:28.120 just give a, you know, A plus effort. And that's all we need. You had fun, didn't you? As long as you
00:49:34.080 have some fun while you do it. What a disgusting, gross attitude. It makes me sick to my stomach.
00:49:41.000 I might vomit right here when I hear this kind of attitude. You're not alone, Adam. There's so
00:49:45.260 many Americans that operate this way. I think you've all been unconscious your whole lives
00:49:48.800 that you would, that you, that you think there are a lot of people with this bill who say,
00:49:53.560 that's, that's terrible. It's terrible, but it's something. They did something.
00:49:57.080 What, how could you, if you've been paying even a moderate amount of attention, how could you still
00:50:03.680 think that the government doing something is always better than it doing nothing at all?
00:50:09.240 If the some, if it's a choice between doing something counterproductive and destructive,
00:50:13.420 and that costs $6 trillion on top of it, and, or doing nothing, if those are the two choices,
00:50:20.140 nothing or counterproductive destructive costs $6 trillion. Nothing is definitely so much better
00:50:26.040 in that case. This attitude of, as long as they're doing something, no, no. Again, have you been
00:50:37.620 paying attention at all your whole life? What, so what do you think? What I'm saying about the people
00:50:48.380 in power, lawmakers, I, I don't want them to do something, okay? I want them to do the right thing.
00:50:56.960 That's what I pay them for. I want them to do their job, a good job. Imagine that. Perish the
00:51:03.640 thought. You want me to lower the bar, except less? That's what you think the problem is? You think
00:51:11.040 the problem is we hold our lawmakers to too high a standard? You want to have a cheerful optimism while
00:51:19.620 they just march us right off a cliff? Whistling Dixie the whole way? You know, because, because
00:51:24.700 you're, you're, you're, at least you're, you're, let's be positive. Let's keep an upbeat attitude.
00:51:30.140 Let's have an upbeat attitude while the government takes us right off a cliff.
00:51:32.780 Don't be a negative Nancy about it.
00:51:38.660 Yeah, I am kind of negative. I am kind of negative about our, our collection of narcissists and,
00:51:43.140 and cowards and con men that we have in Washington.
00:51:45.960 But yeah, you're right. You're right. I guess I should just, uh, I guess I should just learn to,
00:51:52.640 you know, to like it. Learn to like it. Good point, Adam. Thanks so much for the email.
00:51:58.700 Really, really great stuff. Very insightful too. And I thank you for that. Thanks everybody for
