00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, a bunch of liberal academics have signed a letter speaking out
00:00:04.860 against cancel culture. Most everybody else on the left, of course, is furious about the letter,
00:00:09.420 but I think letters and respectful dialogue just are not going to cut it at this point.

00:02:00.700 slash Walsh. Okay, so a number of well-known, mostly left-leaning people, authors, academics,
00:02:07.760 professors, media people, et cetera, have signed a letter published in Harper's Magazine about
00:02:14.640 cancel culture and they're warning about the dangers of cancel culture. J.K. Rowling signed
00:02:21.340 it, David Brooks, Steven Pinker, a bunch of other, about 150 people signed it. Now this letter has
00:02:29.860 provoked a strong reaction on the left, uh, from other leftists further left who are furious about
00:02:38.400 it. And, um, there's an article in the Independent, for example, the typical of the reaction. It says
00:02:45.220 the letter is bizarre and that it shows the, the privilege don't like being challenged. Media
00:02:51.320 matters especially hates the letter because for media matters, you know, this is what they do. So you
00:02:56.820 attack cancel culture, you're attacking them. This is their whole thing. All they do is try to cancel,
00:03:02.260 uh, uh, uh, people on the right. That's, that's their entire mission in life is to cancel people.
00:03:08.960 One staffer at Media Matters has been having a temper tantrum spanning two days over this,
00:03:13.660 this letter and said at one point that the signers of the letters are totalitarians and quote bad people.
00:03:21.500 Okay. So let's take a gander at this, uh, bad, evil, totalitarian, bizarre letter that was in
00:03:30.400 Harper's, uh, this letter that many on the left are not just expressly disagreeing with, but actually
00:03:36.760 are, are enraged by. Let's, let's take a letter. I'll read a little bit of this letter. Um, it says
00:03:44.320 our cultural institutions are facing a moment of trial, powerful protests for racial and social
00:03:49.260 justice are leading to overdue demands for police reform, along with wider calls for greater equality
00:03:55.240 and inclusion across our society, not least in higher education, journalism, philanthropy, and the
00:04:00.220 arts. But this needed reckoning has also intensified a new set of moral attitudes and political
00:04:05.040 commitments that tend to weaken our norms of open debate and toleration of differences in favor of
00:04:10.120 ideological conformity. As we applaud the first development, we also raise our voices against the
00:04:14.920 second. The forces of illiberalism are gaining strength throughout with throughout the world
00:04:19.440 and have a powerful ally, a Donald Trump who represents a real threat to democracy,
00:04:23.600 but resistance must not be allowed to harden into its own brand of dogma or coercion,
00:04:29.220 which right-wing demagogues are already exploiting. This democratic inclusion we want can be achieved
00:04:35.740 only if we speak out against the intolerant climate that has set it in all sides. Um,
00:04:40.760 the free exchange of information and ideas, the lifeblood of a liberal society is daily becoming
00:04:46.800 more constricted. While we have come to expect this on the radical right, censoriousness is also
00:04:52.480 spreading more widely in our culture, an intolerance of opposing views, a vogue for public shaming and
00:04:57.460 ostracism, and the tendency to dissolve complex policy issues into a blinding moral certainty. We uphold the
00:05:04.080 value of robust and even caustic counter-speech from all quarters, but it is now all too common for
00:05:09.360 blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. This just goes on and on and on. Um, I think you get the
00:05:13.640 point. So that, what you just heard there, is according to media matters, totalitarian. That represents
00:05:23.820 totalitarianism. They don't just disagree with it. That's fascist, dictatorial, uh, evil, wickedness, you see
00:05:35.460 right there. Jessica Valenti said that the letter represents powerful people playing victim. Um,
00:05:43.300 meanwhile, and this is, that's also a common theme on the left and reaction to this letter is that
00:05:47.280 these are people who are playing victim who don't want to be held accountable. Meanwhile, all they did
00:05:54.000 was in very weak terms, really. And in a, in a, in a, in a pretty circumspect way, all they said was,
00:06:02.860 hey, let's have a debate and let's not try to get folks fired immediately just because we disagree
00:06:08.200 with what they say. That's all the letter says. And it even throws in a bunch of stuff about how
00:06:14.520 Trump is evil and talks about the right and everything. I mean, make, making all these
00:06:19.940 concessions to the, to the, to the cancel culture mob say, well, you're right about this and this and
00:06:25.180 this and this and this. And then finally, after a lengthy preamble, because this is how it always goes,
00:06:30.580 right? When people are dealing with the cancel culture mob, if they're going to say anything
00:06:36.240 in defiance of it or critical of it, there's always a lengthy preamble about all the things
00:06:42.420 it's right about. And then finally we get to the part where it says, um, where it sort of gets to
00:06:48.340 the disagreement. But even that, you know, the left says is bizarre. It's playing victim. It's bad.
00:06:55.180 It's totalitarian. Uh, so I think there are two things we can take from this and from the reaction
00:07:00.480 to it. First, if you needed proof that cancel culture is real, here it is. Many on the left
00:07:08.620 are, are openly hostile to the idea of debate and dialogue. It's not just, it used to be right.
00:07:16.860 What we, what we used to say is that the left pretends to be in favor of debate and dialogue,
00:07:22.860 but actually it's not, it's a, there's a hypocrisy, a double standard. Well, there's actually no
00:07:29.260 hypocrisy now or very little, uh, and there's not much of a double standard because now what we're
00:07:35.660 hearing is, uh, they, they just, they just don't support this at all. They don't even pretend to
00:07:41.460 support it. They're not interested in having a debate. Wrong think, wrong opinions, wrong viewpoints
00:07:50.920 should not be tolerated period. It's as simple as that. We're not going to debate with you. We have
00:07:57.540 no interest in that. You're wrong. You should be shut down. You should be punished. I mean,
00:08:02.300 nothing that can happen to you could be, could be, uh, overboard. What would you have everything
00:08:08.580 taken from you, everything destroyed? You deserve it. That's what the left is saying. The second thing
00:08:15.320 you see, I think even more important is you see how utterly pathetically ineffectual letters and
00:08:27.000 strategies like this are trying to engage in a thoughtful dialogue about thoughtful dialogue
00:08:35.100 with people who are not interested in thoughtful dialogue is pointless. Let's have a debate about
00:08:42.900 whether we should have debates. Well, you're having the debate or you're trying to have it
00:08:48.620 because there are people who don't want to have debates. So if the people you're trying to debate
00:08:52.520 don't care about having debates, then they aren't going to debate debates with you. You see the
00:08:58.540 problem? We are way, way, way past the point where anything can be gained by calmly and politely
00:09:06.780 explaining why you don't think people should be canceled or why you should be canceled. Uh, they
00:09:12.660 don't care. The mob doesn't care. It's a mob behaving like mobs always do. So this is not the
00:09:19.420 solution to cancel culture. This will do nothing. Letters like this will have no effect. I'll tell you
00:09:27.620 what the solution, what the actual solution is in just a second. But first, uh, a word from our very
00:09:33.120 good friends over at rock auto, you know, it's, um, I, I, I think never having to go to an auto
00:09:40.100 parts store again would be something that, uh, most of us wouldn't miss because why go through
00:09:44.600 the hassle and everything? Rock auto.com is so much easier than walking into a store and dealing
00:09:49.960 with all of that. Uh, especially when you go and more often than not, they're going to, they're just
00:09:54.800 going to go online and order it anyway. We don't have the part in, we got to order it, right? How many
00:09:58.220 times have we all heard that from an auto parts store? You have access to rock auto.com at your
00:10:03.280 desk, in your pocket. You carry it around all the time. Just go to rock auto.com always offers the
00:10:08.200 lowest prices possible rather than changing their prices based on what they think they can get out
00:10:12.220 of you. Uh, they're not going to do that. Rock auto.com is an honest business, a family business
00:10:16.100 serving auto parts customers online for 20 years. Go to rock auto.com to shop for auto and body parts
00:10:21.860 from hundreds of manufacturers. Best of all prices at rock auto.com are reliably low. So you get the
00:10:27.640 great, uh, selection. That's the word I'm looking for. And also low prices. Go to rockauto.com right
00:10:34.600 now. See all the parts available for your car, truck, right? Walsh in there. How did you hear
00:10:38.920 about us, Spock? So that they know that we sent you. Um, okay. So what is the solution to cancel
00:10:44.060 culture? This is it. I'll tell you what it is. I've told you this before. I'll say it again. I'll keep
00:10:50.380 saying it. Um, the only way to stop cancel culture. The only way to stop the mob is to
00:10:58.580 never apologize to it, to give it nothing, to make no concessions, to offend it on purpose,
00:11:06.920 just out of principle and to laugh in its face. That's it. That's the solution. There is no other
00:11:15.660 solution. If you don't like that solution. Okay. Well, but that's the only one. There isn't another
00:11:22.340 one. This is a battle of wills. This is one side trying to impose itself, exercise its power,
00:11:33.100 punish dissent, get vengeance, revenge. You don't deal with people like that who have those kinds of
00:11:41.140 intentions by being polite and saying, now guys, I understand where you're coming from and your
00:11:47.340 concerns are so legitimate and important. And, uh, and, and, and, and before I say anything else,
00:11:52.100 here are a number of issues I agree with you on. And in fact, I agree with you on almost everything
00:11:55.380 when it comes down to it, because you're, you're very brilliant and insightful people. And I just, I,
00:11:59.420 I, I wouldn't say anything about you that would be personally critical. And I, I, I care so much
00:12:04.380 about your feelings. Your feelings are so important to me on such a, on such a deep and visceral level.
00:12:09.300 Uh, but now that I've said all that, can I please allow me to present an argument explaining why,
00:12:13.960 from my perspective, there's a blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. No, that, what do you think that's
00:12:19.980 going to achieve? They aren't interested in that. They don't care. They want you to get to the cut to
00:12:27.000 the chase. Are you going to bow, bend the knee, surrender, give up or not? That's all they care
00:12:32.840 about. Your choices are either to do what they want or not. And if not, then defiance,
00:12:40.100 resilience, and firmness, uh, are the only other options. You beat an opponent by taking away
00:12:48.960 whatever power, uh, it has over you. You have to neutralize it. There can't be any, here's the
00:12:56.940 other thing about, well, why can't we have compromise and discussion? Well, you're not
00:13:03.600 going to compromise with someone. They're not going to compromise with you if they think they
00:13:09.560 can get everything they want. Anyway, compromise only happens when both parties involved in the
00:13:16.400 compromise realize that they're not going to get everything they want. And so they have no choice,
00:13:21.880 but the compromise. A compromise that someone does or agrees to when they don't have to,
00:13:30.360 because they could get everything they want. That's not a compromise. That's charity.
00:13:33.980 And if you're looking for charity from the cancel culture mob, then you're really stupid.
00:13:39.920 Um, but a compromise is something that if they, if they're not, if a, if an opponent doesn't matter
00:13:46.820 whether we're on a battlefield or, or negotiating a salary in your boss's office,
00:13:51.780 whatever it is, there's only going to be a compromise or negotiation. If the person you're
00:13:58.120 dealing with realizes they're not going to get everything they want. If you've made it clear
00:14:01.320 that they, if you've made it clear to them that they can get everything they want,
00:14:05.420 why they're not going to compromise, but why should they, as long as the opponent has power over you,
00:14:11.960 it will achieve victory after victory. It will never compromise because there's no reason to
00:14:18.140 why compromise when you can have an unconditional surrender instead.
00:14:23.980 Why take only some when you can have everything?
00:14:28.680 So that's why you have to take away the power. How do you take away power from the cancel culture
00:14:34.640 mob? Well, by neutralizing its weapon and its weapon is primarily emotional.
00:14:39.540 The mob says it feels deeply hurt, deeply offended, terribly injured by whatever opinion
00:14:46.560 or idea you expressed. Um, and they, they, they, they need all kinds of things to be done to make
00:14:52.580 them feel better. It's nonsense. Of course, it's nothing but a ploy. It's manipulation. It's blackmail.
00:14:57.920 But most of the time, the targets of this manipulation will say, Oh, I'm so sorry. I made
00:15:02.500 you feel that way. Please don't be mad at me. Please don't be mad at me. I'm so, so sorry.
00:15:06.260 No, the way you neutralize that weapon, take away that power is by saying, I don't care how you feel.
00:15:14.700 I don't apologize to you. Your feelings are irrelevant to me. I don't care if you have PTSD
00:15:21.020 for the rest of your life because of what I said. I'll sleep like a baby tonight. Anyway,
00:15:25.600 in fact, I'll laugh at you. I'm happy about it. I'm happy. I upset you. I don't care about your
00:15:31.880 feelings. And I'm not going to explain myself either. Don't like what I said. Deal with it.
00:15:38.240 It's your problem. It's not mine. And I get the hell out of my face.
00:15:45.440 Now, of course, if only a few people are dealing with the mob this way, then the mob will be able
00:15:50.620 to continue on basically unimpeded. And it will often probably be able to punish those few dissenters,
00:15:56.840 punish them for their defiance by taking away their job and their livelihood and whatever else.
00:16:01.280 That's the way it always goes. If only a few people have the guts to stand up to a bully,
00:16:06.260 then, you know, they're, especially when they're so outnumbered, then they're going to pay a price for
00:16:11.100 that. But there always have to be some people who will, who will, you know, lead by example.
00:16:21.080 If enough people deal with the mob like this, then they'll be defeated. Because that's the thing.
00:16:27.520 They only have the power we give them. When someone is using emotional blackmail,
00:16:33.920 it's only, it's not like they're using physical weapons. Well, in fact, the mob is using physical
00:16:40.480 weapons, increasingly so. And the more that they're emboldened, the more that they will do so.
00:16:46.540 But most of the time when we're talking about cancel culture, it's a weapon that has to be given to
00:16:50.420 them. It's an emotional weapon. Emotional blackmail. If you don't care about their feelings,
00:16:57.520 if enough people don't care about their feelings, then they got nowhere else to go. All they can do
00:17:02.240 is put their tail between their legs and go home and shut up. That's the only solution.
00:17:07.780 Now, I also want to stipulate one other thing here. That
00:17:14.320 a lot of what I'm saying here, in an ideal situation, this is not the position that I would
00:17:25.040 take. In an ideal situation, under normal circumstances, I actually would not say that
00:17:33.260 your feelings don't matter and I'm never going to apologize. In principle, apologies can be good.
00:17:39.240 If you do the wrong thing, you should apologize. In principle, we should care within reason how
00:17:46.860 people feel. Now, we shouldn't ever put someone's feelings as the number one priority above all things,
00:17:54.460 but it should be a concern under normal circumstances in an ideal situation.
00:18:01.700 But these are not normal circumstances and this is not an ideal situation.
00:18:07.460 And so that's why we have to adopt this approach. It's the same thing I've been saying with the
00:18:11.120 statues. Under normal circumstances, in an ideal situation, if you didn't have mobs running through
00:18:17.220 the streets, going crazy, trying to tear down statues and destroying cities and everything else,
00:18:22.680 and we were just having a conversation about one particular statue and someone was making an
00:18:30.000 argument that, hey, you know, this statue, maybe we don't need it for this and that reason,
00:18:35.000 maybe I would listen to that. But that's not the situation we're in right now.
00:18:41.320 So even if there's a statue here or there that a reasonable person could argue is, shouldn't be,
00:18:53.480 shouldn't have never, should have never been put up and maybe there could be, maybe there's a reason
00:18:58.020 to take it down. Even if under normal circumstances, a reasonable person can argue that, the position
00:19:03.700 that we have to take right now and that I take is that we can't remove any statues.
00:19:09.780 Because we can't do it like this, under these circumstances, at the behest of a raging mob.
00:19:15.120 And it's the same thing here. When you've got a mob of people who are using emotional blackmail
00:19:30.120 as a tool to shut down free speech, to shut down open discussion, to impose their will,
00:19:37.540 then the only choice is to say, no, no, to stand firm, draw the line and say, no, I'm not doing
00:19:46.780 this. I'm not going along with it. I don't care about your feelings. It's the same thing parents
00:19:53.960 have to do, right? There's another analogy. And a lot of these people are like children. So maybe
00:19:59.140 that's the best analogy we can use. There are plenty of times as parents when we don't allow our kids
00:20:07.520 to do something that in another circumstance, we may allow them to do. I mean, there are plenty
00:20:12.000 of times when my kids want a snack and, uh, no, I don't have anything against giving them snacks
00:20:17.400 normally, but maybe I don't like the way they asked or they're pestering me too much about it,
00:20:21.920 or they're not being respectful. And because of that, I'm going to say, no, you can't have a snack.
00:20:27.000 Normally I would say, fine, you want a snack, you can have it, but not like that. When you come to
00:20:30.400 me like that and you're stomping your feet and you have an attitude, the answer is no.
00:20:34.480 No. Parents do that all the time because of your tone, because of the way that you're,
00:20:39.920 you're coming at me right now, the answer is no. Maybe otherwise it would have been yes, but not now.
00:20:46.300 Well, the cancel culture is a bunch of children, a bunch of toddlers stomping their feet
00:20:49.920 who unfortunately wield a lot more power than the toddlers in your house who are asking for,
00:20:55.280 you know, crackers or whatever. But our approach has to be the same thing as parents and say, no,
00:21:00.900 when you're coming at me like that, you're using these tactics. The answer is no. You're not
00:21:07.120 getting an apology. You're not getting anything. You get nothing from me at all, period.
00:21:14.760 All right. Let's move on to our headlines. Number one, Donald Trump is pushing for schools to be
00:21:22.340 reopened in the fall. The media and Democrats, of course, are saying that Trump is trying to kill
00:21:26.480 our kids. And that's what Jennifer Rubin, the Washington Post's major scare quotes here,
00:21:32.380 conservative op-ed writer said on Twitter that Donald Trump wants to kill your kids verbatim.
00:21:37.620 That's what she said, because he wants to reopen schools. Yet the interesting thing is that none
00:21:42.640 of the people, so far as I can tell, who now insist on schools being closed for COVID insisted on the
00:21:48.260 same during flu season. The flu, even with a vaccine, is more deadly to kids than COVID.
00:21:55.640 But nobody ever says close the schools during flu season. Every once in a while, you hear about an
00:22:00.720 individual school shutting down for a few days because of a really bad outbreak in that, you know,
00:22:05.260 in that locality. But you never have anything like a nationwide shutdown during flu season.
00:22:12.600 Why? On one hand, you have a contagious disease that rarely causes serious complications or death
00:22:19.800 in children, but sometimes does. On the other hand, you have a contagious disease that even more rarely
00:22:25.320 causes serious complications or death in children, but in even more rare circumstances sometimes does.
00:22:31.400 Why would we shut down schools for the latter, but not the former? It makes no sense. Unless,
00:22:37.720 of course, shutting down schools has nothing to do with health and is more about politics and narrative,
00:22:41.820 which obviously is the case here. Number two, a politician in Oregon received a disturbing,
00:22:48.460 deeply disturbing, racist letter last week. It went viral on Facebook. It was covered by the news media.
00:22:55.340 Really rough stuff in this letter, a racist letter. The only problem is that the politician,
00:23:00.120 Jonathan Lopez, wrote it himself. Shocker of all shockers. The twist ending, no one saw coming.
00:23:06.360 So after a few days, he admitted, yeah, he wrote it himself. Just for fun, let's read the letter
00:23:11.800 that Lopez's alter ego sent to himself. The letter says, Mr. Lopez, you're not welcome here and will
00:23:19.440 never be anything in this community or state. Don't waste your time trying to become anything
00:23:24.020 in this country. We will make sure you never win and your family suffers along with all the other
00:23:28.680 effing Mexicans in the area. Sincerely, America. Sincerely, America. Once again, the hoaxers are just
00:23:36.880 having a lot of trouble coming up with a believable script for their imaginary racists.
00:23:42.120 Which just shows you, like we talk about all the time, you know, if this is such a racist country,
00:23:46.980 why are people constantly having to invent these instances of racism? But even more than that,
00:23:55.680 not just that it's being invented, but if it's such a racist country, like you would think that
00:24:02.040 someone like Jonathan Lopez would have encountered racism in the past. And so he could write a
00:24:07.180 believable script of what a racist would say to him, but he's not. He's going based on what he
00:24:11.540 sees in the movies and TV shows. And so that finally came up. Speaking of implausible events,
00:24:17.400 by the way, while we're on the subject of dubious hate crimes, there was a very strange hate crime
00:24:24.000 incident reported a few weeks ago that you may have heard about a few weeks ago. You probably haven't
00:24:28.500 heard about it in the last two weeks because strangely enough, it disappeared from the
00:24:31.520 headlines. But here's the report that ABC did on the story back on June 26th. Watch this.
00:24:40.280 While waiting for a green light, this is where Althea Bernstein says four white men
00:24:45.600 yelled a racial slur at her before attacking her and setting her on fire with lighter fluid.
00:24:51.580 Michael Johnson with the Boys and Girls Club says he can't think of a more obvious instance
00:24:56.120 of a hate crime. And so she has burns to her face, burns to her neck. Johnson, speaking on behalf
00:25:03.440 of the Bernstein family, says Althea is physically doing well today. I think her mom and her dad is
00:25:09.940 concerned about, you know, her mental well-being and the scars that's on her. Bernstein told Madison
00:25:17.060 365 Wednesday that the attack happened early Wednesday morning at around one. She says she was at
00:25:24.080 the intersection when four white men in floral shirts yelled the N-word, sprayed her with lighter
00:25:30.300 fluid and then threw a lit lighter at her. And here's a young lady was minding her own
00:25:36.320 business and somebody decided and tried to set her on fire. And it's, it's, it's, it's, it's,
00:25:44.400 it's unacceptable. Madison police say they are investigating this as a hate crime. Johnson says
00:25:51.000 this is an escalation of racial tensions felt all across the country. Somebody tried to cause bodily
00:25:57.620 harm to somebody because of the color of their skin. And, you know, all of these things that's
00:26:03.980 happened across our country and right here in our backyard, it's just unacceptable. And where's the
00:26:09.420 respect for humanity? Okay. And here are the burns that she allegedly suffered from having her face
00:26:14.020 set on fire. You see it there. So she says she was at a red light one in the morning, a roving band of
00:26:20.600 racists in Hawaiian shirts ran up with lighter fluid and a, and a match and a lighter rather
00:26:26.360 sprayed her, the lighter fluid face, then threw a lighter into the car, a lighter that stayed lit as
00:26:33.580 it was thrown somehow. So it must've been one of those old fashioned ones that you people use in the
00:26:38.120 movies. And then her face was set on fire. Oddly, her hair was not damaged though. Her face was on
00:26:44.020 fire. Her hair didn't catch somehow. Um, and then the racist disappeared to this point. We have seen
00:26:51.660 no video of this, even though it happened in an intersection in the city, there's no video,
00:26:56.580 no surveillance video that we've seen. There are no other witnesses of this.
00:27:01.920 There's a gang of murderous flame wielding Hawaiian shirted racists walking through the street,
00:27:09.280 apparently not noticed by anyone else. And even though they're patrolling the streets,
00:27:15.860 lighting women on fire, nobody else reported a violent encounter with them or any other kind of
00:27:21.420 encounter. Hmm. And those injuries, you know, is that what your face looks like after being set on
00:27:27.720 fire? I don't know. My face has never been set on fire, but is that, it's, it, that's a, it's a very,
00:27:33.680 those are very strange burn marks considering what she claims happened. And also where is the lighter
00:27:40.040 that they threw? Shouldn't she have that because they threw it and should, I mean, she should have
00:27:43.940 it and, and there are prints on it, but she never mentioned having the lighter and she never showed
00:27:48.500 a picture of that. Um, and then what about damage to her car? You know, if she's on fire in her car,
00:27:57.000 there should at least be some fire damage around, uh, you know, around maybe the doorframe,
00:28:02.160 maybe on the, on the roof of the car, but we never saw a picture of that either.
00:28:07.320 And, and here's another strange thing. There was, there was arson. There was, there was arson going
00:28:12.620 on that night, confirmed arson. Leftist rioters were setting buildings on fire in the city. And,
00:28:18.200 um, that was on the same night that this supposedly happened. So she comes home with mysterious burn
00:28:24.060 marks the same night that arsonists are running through the street. And she tells a story about
00:28:30.180 flamethrowing racists who nobody else ever saw and who apparently evaded detection by every video
00:28:36.560 camera in the city. Hmm. Number three, campus reform did one of those classic dumb people on the street
00:28:46.120 videos, this time asking mostly college aged kids. It looks like, uh, questions about July 4th and why
00:28:52.900 we celebrated. And no surprise, a bunch of people didn't know a damn thing about July 4th or why we
00:28:57.900 celebrated or, or about American history. Um, but the really disturbing part of the video is this.
00:29:04.840 So we're actually very two interesting people to talk to. We're teachers. So I was a seventh grade
00:29:10.320 civics, uh, teacher, government teacher, and she is an elementary school teacher, fourth grade,
00:29:15.060 second grade, elementary school teacher. What year did we get our independence?
00:29:20.280 17 something. I personally know firsthand that we are not getting taught specifically in social
00:29:26.700 studies, the history that we need to know. I actually don't teach what's in our curriculum.
00:29:31.440 I'm teaching children social studies. That's not in our curriculum, teaching them things about how to
00:29:36.480 be an anti-racist. Instead of teaching those same three famous black people that we continue to teach,
00:29:42.340 I taught them about protesting. I taught them about black lives matter. I taught them about things that
00:29:46.560 are happening currently so that they could make those connections. And when they see it on the news,
00:29:50.760 they're informed, they're not ignoring the facts of our world right now. They're facts that we're
00:29:57.960 actually a racist country. Okay. So those are the people that are teaching our kids,
00:30:03.080 which puts this part of the video into perspective. So with the 4th of July coming up,
00:30:10.040 we're going to ask a couple of questions. My first question for you guys is what does the 4th of July
00:30:13.860 commemorate? The day we declared independence from Great Britain. Basically America's birthday,
00:30:23.640 right? I think independence. What year did we declare our independence? I'm going to be real with you.
00:30:28.480 I don't know. 1967, I'll say. Close. A little off. I don't know. 1859. 1964. I'm going to give you a try.
00:30:37.820 What do you think? What year did we get our independence? 1970 something, 74, something like that. 1979.
00:30:42.420 Like the 1800s. 1864. Yes, like 18. 19. Is it farther back? It's further back. From the 1800s?
00:30:52.660 Oh, ****. 1777? 76, 76. Yes, that's a shocker. It's impossible to figure out how that could happen.
00:31:03.700 Who could connect these dots? I don't know. You've got teachers, one of whom teaches civics,
00:31:11.340 teaches government, doesn't know the date of our independence somehow. And then another one who
00:31:20.400 confesses that she doesn't even follow a curriculum. All she does is teach about why racism is bad.
00:31:26.780 And then you've got a bunch of kids who are absolute morons and know nothing about this country
00:31:30.480 or its history. How could that happen? I don't get it. But let's continue sending our kids to public
00:31:36.380 school anyway. Sounds like a great plan. Number four, the ACLU is calling attention to the case of
00:31:40.620 Wesley Perky, who's a 68-year-old man with Alzheimer's and other mental illnesses, who's
00:31:45.900 also on death row and scheduled to be executed in a week. I think on July 15th, he's going to be
00:31:51.640 executed. The ACLU says this is a terrible injustice. The media agrees. Newsweek has a long article about
00:31:58.760 poor Wesley, poor old Wesley, just a nice old man, going to be killed by the state, poor guy, right?
00:32:06.080 But the interesting thing is that Newsweek has this entire article talking about the poor old man
00:32:12.820 and how he's going to be executed. And he doesn't understand why. But throughout the entire article,
00:32:19.160 they never mention what he did to land on death row in the first place. It's not until you get to the
00:32:24.660 very bottom in a bracketed editor's note where it happens to mention what the old man did to land
00:32:32.440 himself on death row. I'll tell you what he did. He bludgeoned an 80-year-old paralytic woman to death
00:32:37.880 with a hammer, and he kidnapped, raped, murdered, and dismembered a teenage girl. So this is a guy who did
00:32:47.700 the worst thing imaginable and followed it up with the other worst thing imaginable. He is,
00:32:55.280 Alzheimer's or not, a horrifically evil monster unfit for human society. And I think that point
00:33:01.700 is relevant. I think in a civilized society, this should be quite simple. You rape and murder a child,
00:33:08.980 you die. You bludgeon an old woman to death, you die. That's all. There is no extenuating
00:33:16.280 circumstances that should change the consequence of that action. There are some things a person can
00:33:23.220 do that forfeit their right to be a part of human society in any capacity, even in prison.
00:33:29.580 And this is one of those things. And in fact, he did two of those kinds of things.
00:33:36.660 And the great thing is, it's not a high bar to get over, right? Don't rape and murder and dismember
00:33:44.240 people. Don't bludgeon old women to death. If you can't manage to get over that bar, if that's
00:33:54.460 too high a standard for you as a person, then you just shouldn't be living anymore. And it is an
00:34:03.140 undue burden on society to keep you alive and house you and shelter you and feed you. Nobody should have
00:34:09.720 that responsibility for you. You have made it clear you do not want to be a part of society anymore,
00:34:14.320 and you should be simply given your wish. I think that the ACLU says that's not justice. I think
00:34:20.040 that's the very definition of justice, if you ask me. Number five, finally, the Green Party of Delaware
00:34:25.080 tweeted this. I don't know what it is or why it is or anything, but I know that it is anyway. And here
00:34:33.500 it is. It's a picture of a woman embracing a dolphin. And the caption says, their dolphin human
00:34:40.420 baby is the future of intelligent life on earth. And it's the only way we'll let dolphins in some
00:34:45.480 form survive. This is from the verified account of the Green Party of Delaware, which granted it's
00:34:52.420 the Green Party and it's Delaware. So there's probably three members, but still, it appears that
00:34:57.900 the Green Party, at least in Delaware, is now advocating for a very specific form of bestiality,
00:35:02.880 which is maybe notable. I have to say, though, I object on moral grounds and also on every other
00:35:14.200 ground. And for the record, I object not just on the ground, but in the sea too. But I also have to
00:35:20.740 admit that a dolphin human hybrid baby would certainly give your life porpoise. So I had to do
00:35:30.580 it. I'm sorry. No, I'm not sorry. I just said I won't apologize. I will not apologize, especially
00:35:35.940 for a well-timed bestiality pun. I just won't. That I won't apologize for. Okay, let's go to our
00:35:45.020 daily cancellation. Now for our daily cancellation, we're canceling everyone involved in this training
00:35:50.640 session for city employees in Seattle, as reported by local journalist Christopher Ruffo.
00:35:56.860 He had a Twitter thread about it. Let me pull up his tweets. So he says, the city of Seattle held a
00:36:04.440 training session for white employees called Interrupting Internalized Racial Superiority
00:36:09.100 and Whiteness. He says, so I did a public records request to find out exactly what this means. Let's go
00:36:14.660 through it together in this thread. First, diversity trainers informed white participants that
00:36:20.260 objectivity, individualism, intellectualization, and comfort are all vestiges of internalized racial
00:36:27.440 oppression. And then you see that handy chart there. Internalized racial superiority are, like he
00:36:35.160 mentioned, arrogance is another one. Objectivity. So if you try to be objective, you're a white
00:36:45.580 supremacist. Then he continues, sometimes both sides of the coin are oppression. Are white
00:36:51.980 employees speaking too much? That's probably the internalized racial superiority of imposition or
00:36:57.140 paternalism. Are white employees speaking too little? That's oppression too, because silence is violence.
00:37:03.840 What's next? The city of Seattle diversity trainers encourage white employees to practice self-talk
00:37:09.520 that affirms their complicity in racism and work on undoing your own whiteness.
00:37:16.400 And then in that, these are all documents that he has. So he provides the documents.
00:37:21.000 So they give you the self-talk that you should be engaging in. I guess this is like repeating a
00:37:28.680 mantra to yourself. Racism is not our fault, but we are responsible. So what they're telling you to do,
00:37:35.360 I think, if I can decipher and interpret all the leftist mumbo jumbo, is they're telling you, I guess,
00:37:41.720 to wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and just repeat that to yourself. Racism is not our
00:37:46.960 fault, but we are responsible. Racism is not our fault, but we are responsible. Racism is not our fault, but we are
00:37:54.680 responsible. I don't know if you're supposed to do this when you, when you, well, that's actually, sorry,
00:38:00.220 that's, I just did a symbol of white supremacy. That, that, you know, this is just, this is, that's a
00:38:04.860 proof right there. What I just did is proof of internalized racial superiority. Um, you know,
00:38:09.960 you just, you can't escape it. What happens? And then, and then Rufo continues, what happens after
00:38:15.500 the thought exercises? It's time to do the work. The trainers ask white employees to let go of comfort,
00:38:21.960 guaranteed physical safety, control over the land, social status, and relationships with some other
00:38:28.420 white people. Um, uh, the document says, letting go of the things we have to give up in order to be
00:38:36.460 accomplices, such as at times guaranteed physical safety. So to, to prioritize your own safety is
00:38:44.760 also white supremacy. Uh, just so you're, if you're keeping track at home and it continues from there.
00:38:49.760 Um, it explains that apparently Arabs are white. So there's something called assimilation into
00:38:57.940 whiteness. And if you're, if you're an Arab, then you're, you're white. If you're Jewish, you're
00:39:02.620 white, uh, German, Italian, Armenian, all white. Um, and then it continues. Let's see. How do you know
00:39:11.860 when you've successfully interrupted your whiteness? Well, when you implicate yourself in racism,
00:39:17.360 when other white people may be angry and when you have stopped your white normative behavior.
00:39:24.140 So that's how, you know, okay, there's a lot, you can go to his Twitter thread and look at all this
00:39:28.780 if you have the stomach for it. Um, now you listen to all that. And I have often not, not just me,
00:39:35.440 but many on the right have often described this kind of thing as cultish, right? But what we have
00:39:41.880 to understand is that cultish is a very literal description here. I think this is actually how
00:39:47.540 cults operate. The only thing that, that makes the modern left, not a cult is that there isn't
00:39:52.500 one leader or one established group of leaders, but, um, it uses many of the same tactics as a cult.
00:39:58.880 So if you listen to former cult members or people who have studied cults, they'll tell you that cults,
00:40:03.740 for example, often target young people and college students. If that reminds you of anyone cults work
00:40:10.600 by isolating recruits from their family and their friends, making them, uh, dividing, making them
00:40:16.500 suspicious of their family, cutting them off. Remember that BLM on their website says that we have to
00:40:21.400 dismantle the, the nuclear family. Okay. This is what the left does. It tries to sever people from their
00:40:27.360 families. Cults also provide affirmation and affection, but it's tentative. You know, you only receive it
00:40:32.920 if you do certain things, if you abide by the rules. Cults wield guilt and fear. They want recruits to feel
00:40:40.400 broken and sick, uh, in need of absolution and fulfillment. Cults do not tolerate criticism of
00:40:47.340 their core beliefs and doctrines. There's not going to be any discussion of it. I mean, you go down the
00:40:53.660 list and leftism follow the, follows the script almost exactly. And that's what we're up against.
00:41:00.540 We're up against an ideology that is, that has organized itself literally like a cult and uses the
00:41:06.760 exact same methods. Only it's being done on a massive scale. And rather than having to go to some
00:41:13.800 creepy cult camp out in the desert, um, the creepy cult camps are our schools and universities and
00:41:20.300 we're sending millions of kids into it. And that's what we're up against. And that's why all these people
00:41:25.820 are canceled. And we'll leave it there. Thanks for watching, everybody. Thanks for listening.
00:41:30.460 Godspeed.
