The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 608 - The Media Suddenly Decides That Evidence Is Important

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, we have heard a lot about the need for evidence, but many of the people

00:00:04.400 in the media screaming about the alleged lack of evidence of voter fraud have themselves advanced

00:00:08.880 many wild claims, and recently, and insisted that we shouldn't require evidence to believe those.

00:00:13.940 So we'll go over some of those wild claims today. Also, five headlines, including some of the

00:00:18.040 American public beginning to stand up and resist the unconstitutional lockdown orders. This is

00:00:22.980 what's needed if we're ever going to be free again in this country. And in our daily cancellation,

00:00:26.300 we'll cancel a woman in Canada who successfully shut down a pop-up restaurant because it had 1.00

00:00:31.380 committed the sin of cultural appropriation. But we're also going to cancel the owner of that

00:00:36.020 restaurant for caving to the outrage mob. That's where we're at right now. It's just going to be a

00:00:39.980 cavalcade of cancellations. All that coming up. But first, I want to tell you about our good friends

00:00:45.560 over at Vincero Watches. You know, there's nothing better than having a good quality watch, I think.

00:00:50.920 And it's just something, especially if you're, really no matter what you're doing, if you're

00:00:55.320 dressing up in a formal occasion or, you know, if you're just going out, running errands, whatever

00:01:00.000 you're doing, it really ties everything together and it makes you feel a lot better when you have

00:01:03.220 a good quality watch. Vincero, you can't get better than that. They're dedicated to the craft. They put

00:01:08.020 the time and effort into crafting timepieces so you can wear them day after day. Head over to

00:01:13.200 vincerowatches.com slash walsh. Don't hesitate right now. They're having a site-wide sale up to 15%

00:01:19.080 off anything on their site. Plus, they make the perfect gift. You know, we're getting into the holiday season

00:01:22.960 and you're looking at what kind of gift can you get someone. Well, you can never go wrong with a

00:01:27.980 watch, especially a Vincero watch. Vincero offers free shipping, 30-day returns, and guarantees for

00:01:33.940 watches for two years. And the great thing is, you know, what I always say about Vincero watches is

00:01:39.200 they're affordable but not cheap. And there's a big difference between those two things,

00:01:44.160 especially with watches. You know, you're wearing a cheap watch, you can tell. Things practically

00:01:47.800 falling apart. These are not cheap, but they're affordable. You can afford them, but they're extremely well-made,

00:01:51.980 high-quality, and they look great. You can continue to support this brand as they continue to support

00:01:56.360 the Matt Walsh Show. I'd ask you to do that. Go to vincerowatches.com forward slash walsh. That's

00:02:01.040 V-I-N-C-E-R-O watches.com forward slash walsh. Take advantage of this sale opportunity and get

00:02:07.520 one of my go-to watches at such a great price. You can go to the website and check those out.

00:02:12.160 Like I said, these are timepieces you will enjoy wearing every single day. If you don't,

00:02:16.340 Vincero will make it right. That's their promise. If you don't love it, they'll make it right by you.

00:02:19.860 But I think they will. That's vincerowatches.com. You know, there is no doubt that some of the

00:02:26.100 voter fraud allegations we have heard over the past few weeks are nothing short of extraordinary.

00:02:31.380 The claim that Donald Trump won in a landslide, but the victory was taken from him by voting

00:02:36.460 machines that have been rigged to switch millions of votes from himself to Biden, and that many

00:02:40.400 powerful people, to include the Republican governor of Georgia, as has now been alleged by Sidney Powell,

00:02:45.860 were in on or aware of this scam, is one that should not be accepted at face value. Evidence

00:02:52.760 is needed. The Trump campaign released a statement on Sunday night announcing that Sidney Powell is not

00:02:58.480 a part of the president's legal team and is practicing law on her own, quote unquote. This

00:03:02.180 is helpful because some of the other issues raised by Trump's official team, problems with mail-in

00:03:07.020 voting, early voting, poll watchers being banned from polling stations, et cetera,

00:03:11.460 would seem to be far less cinematic in scope and far more provable, but in those cases, too. The claims

00:03:17.940 must be evaluated based on evidence, of course. As for the voting machine conspiracy, it will ultimately

00:03:23.540 prove to be either the greatest crime in American history or one of the greatest, one of the most

00:03:27.780 outlandish hoaxes in American history. Time and evidence will tell which is which. But after time

00:03:33.600 passes and the evidence or lack thereof is presented, will it matter? Will anyone adjust

00:03:40.080 their initial views accordingly? The challenge now is that no matter the issue, fewer and fewer people

00:03:46.080 are persuadable. Fewer and fewer people will alter their views to conform with the evidence. This is not

00:03:52.000 simply the result of stubborn ignorance on the part of the American public. That's how the media wants to

00:03:57.200 spin it, putting all the blame on you for not knowing who to trust. In truth, though, most people have made

00:04:03.040 the very correct observation that mainstream sources of information are nakedly partisan and therefore

00:04:09.360 untrustworthy. Nobody is persuaded by arguments advanced by sources they don't trust, even if the

00:04:16.080 arguments are good. They're going to fall on deaf ears if they're made by known con artists and hatchet

00:04:22.080 men. You know, you might not even believe a man who walks into the house soaking wet and tells you it's

00:04:26.320 raining if he's already lied to you a dozen times that day. So this level of extreme skepticism directed towards

00:04:33.120 someone who has so thoroughly demolished their own credibility is entirely warranted. The problem

00:04:38.640 is that hyper skepticism towards one source of information can sometimes lead to blind faith in

00:04:44.560 another competing source of information. Bad actors enter into the vacuum, make sinister use of the

00:04:51.600 crisis of trust by presenting themselves as the real truth tellers. And a public exhausted by lies,

00:04:58.560 desperate for the truth, may be led into the very pit they've been studiously avoiding by someone who

00:05:04.320 echoes their skepticism and exploits it for his or her own ends. But a few of the self-professed real

00:05:10.400 truth tellers may actually be real truth tellers promising to tell you what's really going on and then

00:05:15.200 actually telling you what's really going on. And listening to them will lead you not into the pit where they can

00:05:21.520 keep you confused and monetize your confusion, which is what most of the media is interested in

00:05:26.800 doing, but out into the clean air and sunlight where you can see clearly and understand. These

00:05:32.800 are not messiahs, but simply honest people who care about what's true and wish to share whatever

00:05:38.720 truths they know with you. The task is always to discern which is which and who is who. But that's

00:05:44.240 hard to do in the dark amid the noise and the chaos. I think the only way to do it is to maintain a

00:05:50.320 healthy skepticism but an open mind, willing to believe anything that's logically possible so long

00:05:55.120 as good reason is presented to believe it. One way to tell the real truth teller from the con man

00:06:01.680 is that the former, the real truth teller, wants us to have this discerning and thoughtfully skeptical

00:06:06.720 attitude even towards themselves. The latter demands trust they haven't earned and expects you to

00:06:13.120 believe without providing good reason to believe. Now we know that the mainstream media falls into this

00:06:18.880 latter con man category precisely for this reason. They bloviate about the need for evidence of voter

00:06:24.720 fraud and I agree with them, but they do not agree with them. Until this moment they have treated

00:06:30.560 evidence as irrelevant in principle. Irrelevant. Not just irrelevant, but we've been repeatedly told

00:06:36.320 that to ask for evidence or reserve judgment until evidence is presented is a sign of sexism or racism or

00:06:44.400 insufficient faith in the doctrines of the day. From the left in the media we have been given the

00:06:50.080 anti-evidence slogan of believe women. We've been thus instructed to blindly believe the rape and 0.98

00:06:56.480 assault claims made by many women, though as Tara Reid can attest, not all women, based solely on

00:07:03.120 their word alone. It's not just that the people screaming we need evidence today were okay with

00:07:08.880 little or no evidence during the Me Too craze or the Kavanaugh hearings, but that believing without

00:07:13.760 evidence back then was put forward as a sign of virtue. The same with the recent hysteria over

00:07:20.640 police shootings. The media and the left certainly did not wait for evidence before accusing

00:07:26.080 police officers of committing racist hate crimes in the line of duty. They took the BLM narrative as

00:07:31.360 gospel truth and demanded that the American public do the same. And if you said, hey, wait a second,

00:07:36.880 let's wait for the evidence, you were slandered as racist. Now we can go on for quite a while listing all

00:07:43.600 the claims that the media has recently advanced without evidence. Longer if we list every debunked

00:07:49.680 hate crime hoax separately, which would take us all day. For now, we'll just file them all under the label

00:07:54.960 Jussie Smollett, etc. Last week, Joe Biden, as you can see here, provided another example

00:08:01.760 of the left's distaste for evidence when he sent out a tweet implying that trans people are the

00:08:07.520 victims of a hate crime epidemic. This was during the Trans Day of Remembrance, which happened last

00:08:12.480 week. I don't know if you're aware of that. Now, there's no evidence of this epidemic, yet it is referred

00:08:18.160 to as a self-evident fact by the people who now pretend to think that conclusions should be grounded

00:08:24.480 in provable reality. And what they do with that, by the way, is they list every single trans person

00:08:31.200 who was murdered, and then they imply or outright state that every single one of those murders are

00:08:37.360 hate crimes, with zero evidence. Of course, no list of evidence-less claims validated and amplified by

00:08:46.720 the media would be complete, without mentioning the parade of accusations made against Donald Trump

00:08:52.240 over the last four years, five years, starting with the accusation that he's a Russian spy.

00:08:57.760 There have been, as well, many claims related to the lockdowns and mask usage, namely that they work,

00:09:04.880 which we are expected to believe, potentially to the point of giving up our livelihoods,

00:09:08.960 even though the evidence is, at a minimum, insufficient. We could also add the claims that

00:09:14.560 men can get pregnant and women can have penises. These claims certainly lack evidence, to put it mildly, 0.99

00:09:20.400 and yet that's not supposed to prevent us from accepting and repeating them.

00:09:25.680 The point is that the media and the left have a quite selective passion for facts and evidence.

00:09:30.880 And this is why they have no credibility when they cry about a lack of evidence for voter fraud.

00:09:37.200 It's also why nobody cares or is persuaded when they make the case that we need to see evidence.

00:09:43.440 And nobody's convinced by their interpretation of the evidence that is provided. Nobody trusts them.

00:09:49.360 And they want to blame everyone else for that. But it's their fault. This is what their dishonesty

00:09:56.880 and their propagandizing has done. It's the monster they have created. 100% their own fault. 0.95

00:12:09.200 MATT, M-A-T-T, to 64000. Paint Your Life. Celebrate the moments that matter most. Okay, number one,

00:12:16.160 reading from Buffalo News, it says, a gathering of about 50 business owners and their supporters inside

00:12:21.360 an Orchard Park gym, shut down by COVID-19 restrictions, turned into a confrontation with Erie County

00:12:26.800 authorities on Friday night. The owner of the gym, Athletes Unleashed on California Road. Pretty

00:12:32.320 sure it's Athletes Unleashed on California Road. That's not all one name of the gym. Describes the

00:12:37.680 gathering as a protest of the state's orange zone regulations that have closed gym salons and other

00:12:43.100 businesses deemed non-essential. No one was cited. No arrests were made, according to two people who

00:12:48.960 attended. But video of the incident shows an Erie County health inspector accompanied by three

00:12:53.120 sheriff's deputies arriving about 20 minutes after the gathering began. There's the the setup for it.

00:12:58.480 So there's the gathering there at the gym. Health inspectors show up. And rather than reading a

00:13:02.500 description, let's just play the video, which I think is one of the most beautiful videos you'll

00:13:06.980 ever see. I found this to be truly inspiring. And I say that not sarcastically whatsoever. Watch this.

00:13:14.080 These people actually work for their money and they don't want to lose their livelihood.

00:13:17.460 I've lost friends. I've lost family who've killed themselves. I've seen clients die because they've

00:13:22.960 lost their livelihood. I'm sorry to hear that. I know you are. And I'm just, I'm asking for you

00:13:27.160 to guys have some compassion for the people that have lost everything. We do have compassion for

00:13:32.220 people. Okay, well, you need to go have compassion out in the parking lot. This is private property.

00:13:36.360 This is private property. This is private property. This is private property. It's private property.

00:13:42.320 Listen, man, this is private property. They're not wanted here. So do your jobs.

00:13:47.460 Well, her job is. Well, no, no. Your job is to remove people that are not wanted here. 1.00

00:13:51.580 We're wanted here. They're not. She's hiding her name.

00:13:54.780 I'm not. It's right here. It's my name. You can see my name.

00:13:57.900 They're just doing that job. There we go. You should don't be wearing masks.

00:14:00.600 I'm not doing anything wrong. Don't worry about my health. My health isn't your concern.

00:14:04.580 You're meant to be wearing a mask. Is it going to be wearing a mask?

00:14:05.420 Okay, well, then write me up. It's the law. Okay, then take me to jail.

00:14:09.800 It's not the law. Then take me to jail.

00:14:11.380 Show me the law. Show me the law.

00:14:13.660 Show me the law.

00:14:15.960 You have to leave. You guys have to leave. You have to leave.

00:14:21.820 Right now you're trespassing without a warrant.

00:14:23.840 Mass civil pistol training starts now.

00:14:25.800 You don't get to violate the Constitution. It's code enforcement. This isn't the same as that.

00:14:30.240 You don't circumvent or subvert the Constitution.

00:14:33.040 Okay, meth, you need to leave.

00:14:34.160 Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out. 0.74

00:14:51.240 There you go.

00:14:51.800 See, this is exactly what needs to happen.

00:14:53.720 There have been several videos.

00:14:55.140 This is the best one, I think.

00:14:57.880 But over the last few days, there have been several videos like this.

00:15:01.020 There's also a video of, which we're not going to play, but you can find online,

00:15:05.260 of the governor of New Jersey being confronted by some New Jersey citizens

00:15:11.540 because he's sitting at a restaurant without a mask.

00:15:13.860 You know, this sort of thing.

00:15:14.520 We're seeing more of this.

00:15:16.200 This is what needs to happen.

00:15:17.980 We need to get to a point where we're just going to say, you know what, I'm not going to listen to it.

00:15:22.140 I'm not going to do it.

00:15:25.240 You know, call their bluff, especially when it comes to these ridiculous rules for Thanksgiving. 0.95

00:15:32.680 Call their bluff. 0.97

00:15:34.680 This is the only appropriate response as Americans.

00:15:37.120 If we ever want to be free again, there's a real precedent being set here,

00:15:42.620 which has always been my concern.

00:15:45.420 It's been the concern of everyone who's a critic of the lockdowns.

00:15:48.880 It's what's happening right now is a problem.

00:15:51.200 Also, the precedent for the future.

00:15:53.360 What's the limiting principle?

00:15:54.600 When does this go away?

00:15:56.300 And because the government has announced that it has the right to do this,

00:15:59.980 to shut down your business, to tell you how many people you can have in your own home,

00:16:03.420 to tell you that you have to wear masks in your own home,

00:16:06.260 that's the latest madness from Pennsylvania now.

00:16:09.560 Actually passing, I don't want to call it a law.

00:16:11.600 It's not a law.

00:16:12.620 This is just a declaration, a decree, from on high, from the emperor of Pennsylvania,

00:16:20.320 that in your own home you have to wear a mask if you have a visitor over.

00:16:24.800 And if they have the right to do this, the power to do it, the authority to do it,

00:16:29.260 when does it end?

00:16:31.020 When does it go away?

00:16:32.100 And they could do it again anytime they want.

00:16:34.680 You know, when you get to, there's a vaccine for the coronavirus, okay, that gets under control.

00:16:43.980 And then what about next flu season?

00:16:45.520 We have a bad flu season.

00:16:47.440 Tens of thousands of people are dying.

00:16:48.960 I mean, these are people who are dying.

00:16:50.680 The flu is a serious illness.

00:16:52.160 It is.

00:16:52.580 Well, if we're going to say you got to wear masks, we're going to, you know, to save lives,

00:16:58.800 we're going to shut down businesses, we're going to have capacity limits, 10 p.m. curfew,

00:17:02.740 that saves lives.

00:17:03.540 Well, why not save lives again?

00:17:04.740 The only way to put a stop to it, the only way, is for people to just stand up and say,

00:17:11.580 no, I'm not going to listen.

00:17:13.400 You want to barge into people's homes and arrest everyone on Thanksgiving,

00:17:17.220 you want to do that, then go ahead and do it.

00:17:21.120 All these business owners, just open your business.

00:17:23.820 That's what I would say.

00:17:24.600 Just open it and go about, open your business, open it up, call their bluff.

00:17:31.200 All right, let's go to this.

00:17:32.740 Here's a local news station, Orlando 6, with an interesting report.

00:17:39.880 Watch this.

00:17:41.320 Today, the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center is showcasing a new exhibit.

00:17:46.320 It displays powerful images taken after the death of George Floyd.

00:17:50.460 As News 6's Eze Castro got a look at this exhibit and spoke to the photographer who captured moments

00:17:55.580 he says he'll never forget.

00:17:58.240 When you walk inside the Holocaust Center in Maitland,

00:18:00.960 you'll be able to see some of the faces of those who mourned the death of George Floyd,

00:18:06.000 a black man who died in police custody in Minneapolis on Memorial Day.

00:18:10.480 His death sparked protests across the city and around the country.

00:18:15.300 The portraits captured by photographer John Noltner.

00:18:18.560 When George Floyd was killed, that happened 11.6 miles north of my house.

00:18:24.820 And I knew, with a piece of my mind's goal being to hear voices that aren't always heard as well as they should be,

00:18:33.500 I knew that I wanted to go up to that site.

00:18:35.620 Just days after Floyd's death, Noltner came to the site where dozens were gathering,

00:18:40.140 many who were still trying to process the tragedy in their community.

00:18:44.020 And he decided to capture the tears behind his lens.

00:18:48.300 What was the vibe?

00:18:49.380 What was the feeling that you were feeling when you arrived to that location?

00:18:55.000 There was clearly pain and frustration and mourning happening,

00:18:59.460 but it was a space that was open to anybody who wanted to show up and understand what was going on.

00:19:05.060 The exhibit shows 45 strangers, each of them sharing their own message to the world.

00:19:10.360 Yeah, not much needs to be said there, I don't think.

00:19:13.720 Hopefully, I don't have to explain why it's gratuitous and insane to have a George Floyd exhibit at the Holocaust Museum. 0.75

00:19:24.680 But the elevation, the canonization of guys like George Floyd is one of the most gratuitous and insane things

00:19:31.500 we've seen the left do in the last several years.

00:19:35.020 And that's saying quite a lot.

00:19:37.060 Speaking of insane, let's go to number three here.

00:19:38.640 Let's check in with Joe Biden.

00:19:40.920 Here's what Joe Biden is.

00:19:42.660 Maybe you can interpret this for me.

00:19:44.180 I'm having a little bit of trouble.

00:19:45.100 But here's the latest from Joe Biden.

00:19:47.600 Here's what he's thinking and talking about.

00:19:49.200 Listen.

00:19:50.120 They talked about that in some detail.

00:19:53.140 Thirdly, we discussed the need to help states with Title 32 funding for the National Guard.

00:19:58.380 That's a fancy way of saying governors, governors need to be able to get funding when they need to bring their National Guard into play.

00:20:11.680 And National Guards are going to have to play this.

00:20:13.260 It costs a lot of money.

00:20:14.240 Just think, that's how bad it is right now.

00:20:17.260 And we see this, we've seen this kind of thing many times from Joe Biden, of course.

00:20:22.760 But still, that's how bad it is right now.

00:20:26.840 If he does become president and he, you know, his win is legally certified, becomes president.

00:20:33.140 But that's how bad it is now before he has actually taken on the most stressful job on earth and aged, you know, a few more years.

00:20:44.540 How are we going to know that we are entering into a potentially unprecedented territory?

00:20:50.900 How are we going to know when Joe Biden gets to the point where he has completely lost his mind, which I feel very confident, if he is the president, that will happen during his first term.

00:21:00.220 I feel completely confident in that.

00:21:01.500 He's already losing it without taking on.

00:21:05.160 I mean, think about it.

00:21:06.400 You know, if you had a 78-year-old, many of us have been in this situation.

00:21:10.920 You've got a grandfather or a parent who's, you know, who's going down this path.

00:21:18.500 And think about in your own life how quickly this disease progresses.

00:21:24.900 And usually that's with like a grandparent who's retired.

00:21:28.640 And not only doesn't have it, certainly doesn't have the most stressful job on planet earth.

00:21:37.140 So you think about how quickly that progresses.

00:21:40.200 And now imagine in your own life, your grandparent had the most stressful job on earth.

00:21:46.780 It's going to be bad.

00:21:47.520 But how do we know when he gets to the point where he completely loses his mind?

00:21:50.480 Are they going to tell us?

00:21:53.300 Or is Kamala Harris just going to sort of assume the role of president behind the scenes? 1.00

00:21:59.300 And, you know, we're just not going to be told.

00:22:03.180 Number four, a man named Orlando Hall was executed by the federal government a couple of days ago.

00:22:08.340 So many on the left were upset that this man was executed.

00:22:14.260 Here's Keith Boykin of CNN.

00:22:16.420 He sent out this tweet.

00:22:18.180 Orlando Hall was executed last night.

00:22:20.040 Hall was a black man convicted by an all-white jury.

00:22:23.200 He's the eighth person executed this year by the Trump administration.

00:22:26.400 There were no federal executions under President Obama.

00:22:28.940 And Biden plans to end them as well.

00:22:30.760 And then he talks later on in the thread about how he's against that capital punishment and so on.

00:22:35.960 Mentioning the race of the guy, obviously implying that there's something racist going on here.

00:22:41.260 Now, if you're wondering what Orlando Hall did to deserve and to earn himself capital punishment,

00:22:47.440 in fact, I was going to read a description of the crime to you, a report here in NBC News.

00:22:53.200 But it's so graphic that it's too disturbing to even read.

00:22:58.420 What I'll say is that he, along with some accomplices, abducted a child, a 16-year-old child,

00:23:05.980 tortured and raped her over the course of several days, I believe,

00:23:11.780 doused her with gasoline, beat her with a shovel, and then buried her alive. 0.98

00:23:18.080 So that's what he did.

00:23:19.640 That's how he got himself the death penalty. 0.98

00:23:21.520 By the way, his victim, also black.

00:23:25.060 You know, you love how the victims are always erased in these situations.

00:23:31.040 Always erased.

00:23:31.760 The left always erases the victims.

00:23:35.600 You know, this is the kind of thing.

00:23:37.620 I've talked about capital punishment a lot on this show over the years.

00:23:41.560 And I've kind of talked about how I've wrestled with it.

00:23:44.940 And I've been back.

00:23:45.400 I used to be against capital punishment.

00:23:46.940 And over time, I've sort of been back and forth on it.

00:23:49.440 And I'm at the point right now where I don't even, I'm not even sure, maybe part of this is,

00:23:55.000 I'm sure part of this is emotional, but I'm not even sure what I was wrestling with.

00:23:59.460 I'm at a point now where it seems so clear to me.

00:24:03.260 Obviously, someone like this, you execute them.

00:24:04.960 What else would you do with them? 0.80

00:24:06.120 The only problem I have is that it took so long.

00:24:08.960 This crime happened, I'm not sure when this happened.

00:24:12.140 This happened, let's see, I'm not sure, years ago.

00:24:17.940 It happened several years ago, as is always.

00:24:19.660 Oh, 1994, that's when it happened.

00:24:23.540 I didn't realize it was that long ago.

00:24:25.960 So this happened, and this happened like 25 years ago.

00:24:28.600 That's my only problem.

00:24:31.420 Executions should be, you get the conviction, they're found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt,

00:24:36.120 and take them out back that day and dispatch them.

00:24:44.340 It is an injustice to society, that society is expected to house these people and feed them 1.00

00:24:52.840 and protect them, you know, a lot of times in, you know, protective custody in prison,

00:25:00.220 because the people that get capital punishment, a lot of them, especially if they're committing 0.91

00:25:03.340 sexual crimes against children, they're so evil and disgusting that even their other fellow 1.00

00:25:08.780 convicted criminals don't want to be around them. 0.99

00:25:11.180 And so we have to pay extra to protect them from their other fellow criminals.

00:25:16.380 That's the injustice, is the burden on society to keep this person alive.

00:25:21.260 So he should have been executed 25 years ago, but I'm relieved and happy that it happened now. 1.00

00:25:28.260 So society is a little bit better off today without this monstrous, despicable, evil scumbag. 0.99

00:25:35.940 Five, finally, speaking of which, I'm going to play something for you. 0.98

00:25:39.840 I'll have much more to say about it later, probably tomorrow, because what you're about

00:25:43.400 to witness is just begging for a daily cancellation.

00:25:48.360 So we'll do that probably tomorrow.

00:25:50.640 But for now, I just want to play this for you because I just saw it, and I have to play it.

00:25:54.680 This is being shared on social media, kind of going viral.

00:25:56.760 So it's from an HBO documentary.

00:26:00.420 I believe the documentary is called Trans Hood on HBO.

00:26:05.700 Anyway, check it out.

00:26:06.880 Here it is.

00:26:08.020 Good morning.

00:26:09.920 Today we choose to recognize, honor, love, and celebrate anyone here who would claim their

00:26:17.160 identity publicly as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning, intersex,

00:26:24.520 sex, pansexual, asexual, or any category that I've left out.

00:26:31.660 This is Phoenix. 0.99

00:26:32.960 You're a little shy.

00:26:44.420 Do you want to tell your family if you're a boy or a girl?

00:26:48.560 I just want to tell them that I'm a girl.

00:26:50.780 No.

00:26:51.220 Okay.

00:26:51.600 You can tell them that.

00:26:52.420 Phoenix would like you to know that she's a girl, and she prefers she and her pronouns. 1.00

00:27:05.880 This way.

00:27:07.360 May you be well, safe, and whole.

00:27:11.280 We honor you exactly as you are.

00:27:14.500 Okay, I'm only going to say just two quick things about what you just saw.

00:27:19.800 More to come later.

00:27:20.920 But first of all, as I always point out, in a healthy and well-adjusted society, that video

00:27:31.480 would end with police breaking down the door and arresting every single adult in the building

00:27:39.400 and hauling them away in cuffs.

00:27:42.460 And then even better, in a really healthy society, as they're being frog-marched out

00:27:48.120 to the big bus or van where they're all going to be taken to prison, the people in the town

00:27:53.580 would be gathered around, like, throwing tomatoes at them and shouting at them.

00:27:57.160 That's how you know we'd be in a really healthy society.

00:28:01.140 Because that ritualized child abuse that you just saw, that is the appropriate response

00:28:05.300 to it.

00:28:06.620 That's my first observation.

00:28:07.620 My second observation is, you saw in the video there, quickly, it kind of scanned to

00:28:12.340 the, I'm not even going to call it a congregation.

00:28:15.080 Well, maybe it is a congregation.

00:28:16.660 You know, this is basically a satanic temple that you just saw.

00:28:20.480 And so you saw the congregation at the satanic temple.

00:28:24.460 Satanic temple by another name.

00:28:27.300 But what did you notice?

00:28:28.800 What was missing in the audience?

00:28:32.240 Who was missing?

00:28:35.300 Men.

00:28:36.080 Fathers.

00:28:36.400 It was almost entirely women. 1.00

00:28:39.240 It was women up on stage. 1.00

00:28:41.560 Of course, it was a woman dragging this poor child up there. 1.00

00:28:45.660 You know, it was the mother.

00:28:46.680 I hesitate to even call her mother.

00:28:48.420 But it was the mother dragging her up.

00:28:49.980 No father in sight.

00:28:51.000 I don't know if the father was there or not.

00:28:52.020 He wasn't on stage.

00:28:54.460 Mostly women. 1.00

00:28:56.100 Not a lot of men.

00:28:56.900 Not a lot of fathers.

00:29:02.060 That's not a coincidence, is all I'll say.

00:29:04.980 But as I said, more on that tomorrow.

00:29:07.660 Before we get to our daily cancellation, I want to tell you about LifeLock.

00:29:12.120 You know, our great sponsors we're always telling you about.

00:29:14.240 And now is especially a good time to hear about it because with the holiday season, people are spending, you know, you're online, you're buying things online.

00:29:21.900 And cyber criminals are also online, taking advantage of things.

00:29:27.320 Cyber criminals often hide malware in emails.

00:29:30.100 These deceptive emails can look like real invoices, invites, or payment information with a document attached to it.

00:29:35.520 The attachments contain text and images that look legitimate, but when you click on them, a pop-up ad appears, you know, asking you to enable content or enable editing.

00:29:45.980 If you do this, the attachment will install malware on your computer.

00:29:49.360 And the thing is, these hackers are getting, they're very clever, and they know how to make things look legitimate.

00:29:55.840 So even if you feel like, you know, you're not going to fall for these kinds of scams, well, they're always adapting, and they're trying to get people just like you, and that's why you need LifeLock.

00:30:04.140 It's important to understand how cybercrime and identity theft are affecting our lives.

00:30:07.640 This holiday season, you could miss certain identity threats if you're just monitoring your credit or your bank statements.

00:30:13.180 That's why you need LifeLock, the leader in identity theft protection.

00:30:16.300 LifeLock helps detect a wide range of identity threats, like, for example, if your social security number is for sale on the dark web, stuff like that that you wouldn't be able to find out on your own.

00:30:25.100 If they detect your information being used in their network, they're going to send you an alert, and if anything ever does happen and you have a problem,

00:30:30.960 they're also going to be there to help you restore and get your identity back.

00:30:34.800 No one can prevent all identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses, but LifeLock can help you feel warm and protected this holiday season.

00:30:42.240 Save up to 25% off your first year at LifeLock.com slash Walsh.

00:30:46.140 That's LifeLock.com slash Walsh for 25% off.

00:30:50.240 One other note before we move on here.

00:30:53.840 Thanksgiving, of course, is almost here, and that means that Black Friday is also almost here.

00:30:58.340 Since last year's Black Friday deal, we've been consistently adding more features and products to our membership program.

00:31:05.260 We're really excited about it.

00:31:06.640 To name a few things, we've added more exclusive Reader's Pass content.

00:31:10.600 Our Insider and above members can now stream our content on Apple TV and Roku.

00:31:15.480 I know I hear from a lot of people that are using Apple TV or Roku now to watch the shows,

00:31:19.620 and we're currently adding the entire PragerU catalog behind our paywall.

00:31:23.160 That's going to be up there pretty soon.

00:31:24.340 So if your account, your account now comes with custom badges that you can earn by participating in current events.

00:31:29.560 If you're an All Access member, you get to join the All Access Live discussions,

00:31:34.140 our exclusive daily live streams with me or one of the other hosts.

00:31:37.260 That was something we didn't have.

00:31:38.220 I don't think we had that last year, so that's another added benefit.

00:31:40.900 We're also continuing to add new features and products,

00:31:43.500 like we already mentioned the entire PragerU catalog and many other things,

00:31:48.240 and also more content.

00:31:50.180 Candace Owens is going to be joining the team very soon,

00:31:53.560 launching a new show with us early next year.

00:31:55.740 So needless to say, we're pretty excited about everything we've got coming up,

00:31:58.580 and that's why you want to take advantage of the Black Friday deal.

00:32:02.080 You don't want to miss it.

00:32:03.080 Now, today for our daily cancellation, we're going to be canceling this person.

00:32:06.460 Her name is Evie Kwong.

00:32:08.580 She works for the Toronto Star.

00:32:11.080 She was recently horribly offended by some of the offerings at a pop-up broth bar

00:32:14.980 inside of an athletic apparel store in Toronto.

00:32:17.380 Of course, many questions are immediately raised about why there's such a thing as a broth bar

00:32:22.860 and what that is exactly and why it's inside of an athletic apparel store

00:32:27.060 and how any human could possibly manage to be offended by broth.

00:32:31.940 We may be able to answer some of those questions in due course as we proceed.

00:32:36.260 But first, to Evie Kwong's tweets.

00:32:39.080 She says, this is a long tweet thread as she goes on about it.

00:32:43.180 She says,

00:32:43.520 A white-owned trendy spot on Ossington is selling bone broth across from golden turtle pho,

00:32:50.000 also sexualizing jerk sauce and pho hot sauce, and making superfood dumplings for profit.

00:32:57.040 Y'all, I'm sick.

00:32:58.560 The cultures they are taking from literally fight daily for legitimacy. 0.68

00:33:02.500 The wellness cleansing of the food, the lack of historical understanding,

00:33:06.420 and the number of followers is alarming.

00:33:08.020 I'm not trying to knock small businesses, and it is Trina, by the way, T-R-Y-N-A. 1.00

00:33:15.040 I'm not trying to knock small businesses, but damn, this one hurt. 0.98

00:33:19.660 I legit threw out my Chinese food lunches because white kids would make fun of it all day. 0.99

00:33:24.580 I bought into Pizza Day and dry-ass turkey burgers. 0.95

00:33:27.280 So did many others.

00:33:30.800 And now you're taking our culture and selling it?

00:33:33.840 And people think it's legit? 1.00

00:33:35.780 Damn. 0.99

00:33:36.800 It took hella unlearning and relearning to love my identity to get over that. 1.00

00:33:41.560 Don't come at me with organic grass-fed immunity dumplings.

00:33:45.460 It's Zhao Long Bao.

00:33:47.300 I have no idea if I pronounced that correctly.

00:33:48.720 Surely if I did not, I am racist.

00:33:51.200 Anyway, she continues.

00:33:52.160 And while you're here, support your local Chinatown, Little India, Little Jamaica, Little Tibet, 1.00

00:33:57.600 Koreatown, J-Town, and spots our aunties and uncles opened, moving here to support their families.

00:34:03.100 Know that they've had to assimilate too.

00:34:05.560 Okay.

00:34:06.920 A lot of problems.

00:34:07.500 That was hard.

00:34:08.180 First of all, this is someone who works in the media.

00:34:09.780 This is, I guess, a journalist or something.

00:34:12.300 And that's how she writes.

00:34:14.060 Words like Trina, hella.

00:34:16.780 That's a problem.

00:34:17.500 But to translate, Kuang is upset that this business is selling a few traditionally Asian food products.

00:34:24.440 Somehow the existence of bone broth cooked by someone who is not Asian has caused her to flash back to some teasing she received in grade school.

00:34:32.840 And because she has this weird emotional association between broth and bullying,

00:34:37.640 she believes that the business that produced the broth should be destroyed. 0.75

00:34:41.820 It is, after all, cultural appropriation, she says.

00:34:44.260 Now, something tells me, and I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

00:34:49.280 Something tells me that Ms. Kuang has never once complained about restaurants run by Asians selling hamburgers or pizza.

00:34:57.580 And that's a problem because if we're going to play this game, then it must be played consistently and equally.

00:35:03.220 It never is.

00:35:04.320 You never hear anyone complain about non-white people selling products that, quote, belong to white people.

00:35:10.440 Which, objectively speaking, in a vacuum is fine.

00:35:13.520 Because nothing belongs to white people as a group, but also nothing belongs to any other group or race or ethnicity or culture as a group. 0.56

00:35:22.560 Asians don't own broth. 0.81

00:35:25.040 They don't own Asian, any Asian food.

00:35:27.380 I got news for you.

00:35:28.960 Individual items of food can be owned, but entire types of food cannot be owned.

00:35:35.220 IHOP owns the pancakes it makes.

00:35:37.620 But who owns pancakes in general?

00:35:41.240 What group lays claim to the concept of pancakes?

00:35:45.380 Answer, none.

00:35:46.560 No group.

00:35:47.700 Pancakes are the property of the whole human race.

00:35:50.260 And what a glorious thing that is.

00:35:52.360 And guess what?

00:35:53.540 What we call Asian food is also the property of the whole human race. 0.98

00:35:58.580 Anyone can make it.

00:35:59.980 Anyone can eat it.

00:36:01.040 Anyone can sell it.

00:36:03.120 So, Evie Kuang, you don't own Asian food.

00:36:05.060 I own it just as much as you do.

00:36:07.620 Guess what?

00:36:09.040 I am just as much as you allowed to make it, sell it, eat it.

00:36:13.040 I have just as much of a claim to it as you do.

00:36:16.180 That's the way it goes.

00:36:18.200 In fact, the cultural appropriation charge is never as absurd as it is in relation to cuisine.

00:36:23.820 Because cuisine especially cannot be owned by any group of people.

00:36:27.280 As there's probably no dish you could possibly name which originates entirely with one group.

00:36:32.420 And has remained unchanged and uninfluenced for centuries.

00:36:36.040 There may be some dishes like that, but they're few and far between.

00:36:39.540 Almost all foods and dishes are a fusion of different influences and have changed and been adapted and adopted over time.

00:36:45.520 I'm no historian of pho, but as far as I'm aware, pho itself has very heavy French influences.

00:36:51.980 This is a fact overlooked by Miss Kuang.

00:36:54.960 These kinds of facts are always overlooked by the people who rail against cultural appropriation.

00:36:59.800 Now, I have to add one other thing.

00:37:03.780 It's not just Evie Kuang getting canceled today.

00:37:06.240 I must also cancel the business that she herself canceled.

00:37:09.700 I'm afraid I have to jump in with the Pitchfork mob, but only because the business caved to the Pitchfork mob.

00:37:16.300 You know, after the outrage sparked by Kuang's psychotic tweets, the business, called Ripe Nutrition,

00:37:23.120 posted on Instagram the following message from its founder.

00:37:25.840 This is what they said.

00:37:26.560 Over the course of the past 48 hours, it has come to my attention as the founder of Ripe Nutrition

00:37:31.860 that I've made some mistakes, big ones.

00:37:35.100 It was important to me to take a moment to collect my thoughts and decide how to best address this situation.

00:37:40.360 First, I want to thank each and every person who took the time to bring this to my attention,

00:37:44.000 something that I now realize should have never been their burden to bear.

00:37:47.800 It is not the responsibility of people of color to educate me, a white woman,

00:37:51.920 on why cultural appropriation isn't acceptable.

00:37:54.120 The responsibility is mine and mine alone.

00:37:57.380 Anyone who has spoken out about this should never have had to do this work,

00:38:00.740 and I apologize for my insensitivity and ignorance as the founder of Ripe Nutrition.

00:38:07.520 Oh, dear God.

00:38:10.260 We should note that in spite of this groveling apology,

00:38:13.260 the business was still kicked out of its location in the apparel store.

00:38:16.380 So it was still shut down.

00:38:17.360 This is the way it always goes, of course.

00:38:20.040 The apologies never make a difference.

00:38:22.920 They never have the effect that the apologizer hopes for and intends.

00:38:26.500 Never.

00:38:27.120 It doesn't matter.

00:38:28.480 They're not going to go any easier on you just because you apologize.

00:38:31.920 And that's why everyone must stop apologizing.

00:38:35.560 I am at the point where people who do apologize lose all sympathy from me. 0.98

00:38:42.240 If you're going to cave and kowtow and prostrate yourself at the behest of these lunatics, 0.97

00:38:46.960 then I am not going to defend you. 0.99

00:38:49.260 Why should I bother defending your dignity and honor if you're just going to set it on fire willingly anyway?

00:38:55.340 I mean, burden to bear?

00:38:57.300 The owner of this company actually just said that her broth was somehow an emotional burden

00:39:02.520 that some in the public had to bear,

00:39:05.380 as if there were people up late at night tossing and turning,

00:39:09.060 distraught because some white lady was selling broth in an apparel store in Toronto. 0.92

00:39:13.780 If any such person actually exists, which I doubt,

00:39:18.680 if there's actually any person who was at all traumatized by this broth, 0.97

00:39:22.580 then they are mentally ill and should be committed to an asylum. 0.97

00:39:25.860 Anyone who has ever felt any kind of authentic distress 0.99

00:39:30.500 because the, quote, wrong race of person was cooking a certain food 0.99

00:39:34.420 is not only a bigot, but a lunatic. 0.96

00:39:38.040 And that's exactly what you should say to them when they try to cancel you. 1.00

00:39:42.820 These lunatic bigots will never stop, will never slow down, 0.99

00:39:47.640 so long as there are limp, spineless, jellyfish-like creatures floating around there, 0.99

00:39:53.260 out there, such as the owner of Ripe Nutrition,

00:39:55.860 who can so easily be manipulated and dominated. 0.99

00:39:59.280 Have some damn self-respect. 1.00

00:40:01.520 Grow a spine. 1.00

00:40:02.980 Stand up for yourself.

00:40:05.700 You know, how about issuing a statement on your little Instagram account saying,

00:40:09.280 hey, guess what?

00:40:09.920 I'm not sorry.

00:40:10.680 It's broth. 0.99

00:40:11.500 Get over it, you insane babies. 0.99

00:40:14.820 Get over yourself. 0.99

00:40:15.640 How about that for a statement?

00:40:20.020 So everyone who complains about cultural appropriation is canceled.

00:40:23.820 And everyone who emboldens and encourages and validates the complainers is also canceled.

00:40:31.420 Canceled, canceled, canceled.

00:40:32.600 That's how we're ending it today.

00:40:36.820 But other than that, hope you have a great day, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

00:40:40.160 Godspeed.

00:41:38.400 and we'll explain it all on The Andrew Klavan Show.
