Today on the Matt Wall Show, the Washington Post has come up with a new innovation to account for
00:00:04.360
all the non-white people who are Trump supporters. They're calling it multiracial whiteness. Yes,
00:00:09.860
we'll have to figure out what that is today. Also, five headlines, including the media hurries to
00:00:13.740
provide publicity and attention to the supposed right-wing militias who are, we're told, gathering
00:00:19.000
in state capitals across the country. The funny thing is that some of them don't seem to be very
00:00:23.260
right-wing. So we'll talk about that. And our daily cancellation, we'll cancel a public health
00:00:27.580
expert who insists that it is healthy and wise to exercise outdoors with a mask on. Is there any
00:00:33.700
truth to that? We'll find out today. All that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.
00:00:44.240
Before we go any further today, quick word, important word from our friends at LifeLock.
00:00:48.500
You know, it's never been more important to protect your online data, especially when you think about
00:00:53.280
all the new tactics that the thieves are using to steal your data. And a new tactic for stealing
00:00:59.400
your credit card and personal information has recently been discovered. This new web skimming
00:01:03.060
attack or e-skimming injects malicious code into a compromised e-commerce website's checkout process
00:01:08.700
that pulls your order information to display it on a fake checkout page that steals your information.
00:01:13.440
So, you know, when you're buying stuff online, this is the kind of thing you have to worry about.
00:01:17.300
And it's difficult on your own to detect this sort of thing, to be aware of it.
00:01:23.940
And that's why it's so important to understand how cybercrime and identity theft are affecting
00:01:27.160
our lives. Every day we put our information at risk on the internet. And you could just simply
00:01:31.380
miss many of the risks to your identity if you're just monitoring your credit, looking at your bank
00:01:35.880
account. I mean, the kind of things that are good to do, but it's not enough. That's why you need
00:01:40.340
LifeLock. LifeLock will do all the things you can't do. LifeLock is a leader in identity theft
00:01:44.240
protection. LifeLock detects a wide range of identity threats, like your social security
00:01:49.580
number being for sale on the dark web. And if they detect that your information has been compromised,
00:01:54.080
they'll send you an alert. And if God forbid something does happen, then they also have
00:01:57.900
identity restoration specialists who are on staff and there to help you. So you get, you know,
00:02:01.940
you get help on both ends of this problem. No one can prevent all identity theft or monitor
00:02:05.860
all transactions at all businesses, but LifeLock can see threats that you might miss on your own.

00:02:22.900
the sort of person who holds a position, defends it vigorously and remains totally impervious to
00:02:27.080
counter arguments and contrary evidence. The person who couldn't possibly be more certain of the
00:02:33.580
rightness of his views and also couldn't possibly have less reason to be certain. How do you engage
00:02:38.580
with this? With someone who absolutely refuses to be persuaded? Someone who hangs on to their
00:02:43.700
original assumptions and beliefs and simply ignores everything that contradicts it or else
00:02:49.460
incorporates the contradictory information into their worldview in an entirely ad hoc and arbitrary
00:02:54.320
way? It quickly feels pointless to engage with them, right? It feels like you're trying to,
00:02:58.780
I don't know, explain the color green to a man who's been blind since birth. It's just not clicking
00:03:03.380
with them. They can't comprehend what you're telling them. Or what makes it all the more frustrating
00:03:07.240
really is that they refuse in this case to comprehend it. Now, what do you do when the
00:03:12.680
whole country seems to be filled with people like this? What happens then? I suppose what happens is,
00:03:18.800
well, everything we're seeing happening right now. It's why talk of unity is pointless and will go
00:03:22.940
nowhere. I mean, how do you unify with people like this? People like, for example, the writer of a
00:03:28.200
new op-ed in the Washington Post, Christina Beltran. The piece, which has attracted much attention in
00:03:33.540
recent days, is titled, here's what it's titled, to understand Trump's support, we must think in
00:03:38.640
terms of multiracial whiteness. Yes, multiracial whiteness, which is, I imagine, quite similar to
00:03:46.280
beautiful ugliness, hot coldness, wealthy poverty, similar in the sense that these are all non-sequiturs.
00:03:52.940
It makes no sense. So here's some of what Christina Beltran has to say. She says,
00:03:57.200
the Trump administration's anti-immigration, anti-civil rights stance has made it easy to
00:04:01.280
classify the president's loyalists as a homogenous mob of white nationalists. But take a look at the
00:04:07.740
FBI's poster showing people wanted in the insurrection assault on the U.S. Capitol.
00:04:13.080
Among the many white faces are a few that are clearly Latino or African-American.
00:04:18.320
Yes, white faces that are clearly Latino or African-American. White faces that are African-American.
00:04:25.520
This reminds me of when I stood in line at the Cinnabon alongside many skinny people who were clearly
00:04:30.760
obese. In fact, based on my diet, you may say that I'm the reverse. I'm an obese person who is skinny.
00:04:36.920
You know, these things can happen. Anyway, continuing, it says, such diversity highlights
00:04:41.560
the fact that President Trump's share of the Latino vote in November actually rose over 2016,
00:04:46.440
notwithstanding years of incendiary rhetoric targeting Mexicans and other Latino communities.
00:04:50.940
Yes, Trump's voters and his mob are disproportionately white. But one of the most unsettling exit poll data
00:04:56.020
points of the 2020 election was that a quarter of a third to a third of Latino voters voted to
00:05:01.480
reelect Trump. And while the vast majority of Latinos and overwhelming majority of African-American
00:05:05.400
voters supported the Biden-Harris ticket and were crucial to its success, many black and brown voters
00:05:09.160
have family and friends who fervently back the MAGA policy agenda, including its delusions and
00:05:14.160
conspiracy theories. One of the organizers of the Stop the Steal movement is Ali Alexander, a Trump supporter
00:05:19.080
who identifies as black and Arab. The chairman of the neo-fascist Proud Boys is Enrique Torrio,
00:05:24.860
a Latino raised in Miami's Little Havana who identifies as Afro-Cuban. So here's the problem
00:05:30.880
all laid out, right? People like Beltran have decided that supporters of Trump and his policies are
00:05:34.940
a homogenous mob of white nationalists. That's the position they've staked out. It's the assumption
00:05:40.920
they've made. It was never based on any evidence. It never had anything to do with the actual reality
00:05:45.760
of the situation, but this is what they decided. And then comes the counter, the evidence to the
00:05:51.300
contrary, the fact that, as is acknowledged here, there are plenty of people who support Trump and
00:05:55.840
his policies and yet are not white. How do you account for that? Now, it's true that the fact
00:06:01.080
that some non-white people support Trump doesn't in and of itself prove that Trump is not racist or
00:06:07.080
that most of his supporters aren't, but it is a point that must be explained. It does throw a wrench
00:06:12.540
into the works, right? If you're on the left, it's a piece of data that the original theory doesn't
00:06:18.080
predict or account for it. So what do you do about it? Do you stop and assess? Do you re-evaluate
00:06:25.520
your position? Do you strive to develop a more nuanced understanding? No, of course not. Instead,
00:06:31.160
you do this from the piece. It says, rooted in America's ugly history of white supremacy,
00:06:35.900
indigenous, white supremacy, indigenous dispossession, and anti-blackness,
00:06:39.820
multiracial whiteness is an ideology invested in the unequal distribution of land, wealth,
00:06:44.680
power, and privilege. It continues, multiracial whiteness reflects an understanding of whiteness
00:06:48.880
as a political color, a political color, and not simply a racial identity, a discriminatory
00:06:55.180
worldview in which feelings of freedom and belonging are produced through the persecution
00:06:59.200
and dehumanization of others. For voters who see the very act of acknowledging one's racial
00:07:04.140
identity as itself racist, the politics of multiracial whiteness reinforces the desired approach
00:07:09.240
to colorblind individualism. In the politics of multiracial whiteness, anyone can join the MAGA
00:07:14.260
movement and engage in the wild freedom of unbridled rage and conspiracy theories.
00:07:18.880
America's racial divide is not simply between whites and non-whites. Thinking in terms of
00:07:22.980
multiracial whiteness helps us recognize that much of today's political rift is a division between
00:07:27.620
those who are drawn to and remain invested in a politics of whiteness and those who seek something
00:07:32.500
better. Okay. Now, before we analyze this further, there's one other quick passage from this piece,
00:07:38.560
just sort of dropped into the middle, which is true and actually undermines the point that's being
00:07:44.460
made. It says, if you want to speak Spanish and celebrate a quinceanera in your family, go ahead.
00:07:49.640
If you want to be a proud boy, be a proud boy. Trump doesn't care. As long as you love him,
00:07:54.980
he'll love you. Yes. That part right there, that part, that is a correct summation of Trump and his
00:08:02.680
approach to people. That's actually true. Love him and he'll love you. Hate him and he'll hate you.
00:08:09.160
In fact, well, it's more love him and love you. Criticize him and he'll hate you. Doesn't matter
00:08:13.040
if you actually hate him or you criticize him at all, he'll hate you. I'm not going to pretend that
00:08:16.560
this is the best way to be or the best way to live, but it's clearly how Trump approaches things.
00:08:20.700
And then it means he's not racist because his decision to hate or love you has nothing to do
00:08:28.820
with your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or anything else. Any of your identifying
00:08:34.280
characteristics, that doesn't matter to him. What matters to him is how you feel about him and what
00:08:39.940
you say about him, period. That's all. Say what you want about that disposition, but you can't call it
00:08:47.940
racist because race has nothing to do with it. The writer of the article notices this about Trump's
00:08:54.420
and takes note of it, acknowledges it, but then proceeds right along with her original thesis.
00:09:00.440
That thesis, as we recall, is that Trump and his supporters are all racist white supremacists.
00:09:05.460
What does she do about the fact that many of Trump's supporters aren't even white?
00:09:09.640
Well, not to worry. She can just turn them into sort of honorary white people. They're white
00:09:14.380
people politically. They engage in the politics of whiteness, whatever that means. Notice, of course,
00:09:19.540
the outrageous, over-the-top, in-your-face racism on display here. I mean, this is the irony that we're
00:09:25.200
all accustomed to by now. The people who rail against racism tend to be the greatest examples
00:09:30.640
of what they're pretending to oppose. And here she is equating whiteness with evil. Really, her point is
00:09:36.600
that a black person who is evil and bigoted and bad, in her view, is really white because of that.
00:09:45.060
This is just about the most racist possible view a person can hold and express, and she's given a
00:09:50.240
column in the Washington Post to express it. It goes without saying, though, of course, this does not
00:09:55.980
go the other way. A white person who has all the correct views by the writer's standards does not get
00:10:01.840
to lay claim to a multiracial blackness. You know, they don't get to be considered a black face that is
00:10:08.220
white. The Rachel Dolezals of the world are cast aside, despite the fact that they're simply adopting
00:10:14.940
and living by the ideas and the philosophy expressed in this article. But, you know, that's the great thing
00:10:20.460
about being impervious to reality and unwilling to abandon your original assumptions. You don't have to
00:10:27.140
worry about being consistent. You don't even have to concern yourself with basic coherence. You can just
00:10:33.460
make up your worldview as you go. And that is how the writer of this article has chosen to live. And sadly,
00:10:41.060
very sadly, she is far from alone. Now let's get to our five headlines.
00:10:46.240
Well, today is a day of mourning for me. This is a tough weekend. Ravens lose to the Bills. Didn't
00:10:59.380
even score a touchdown. I think the final score, what was the final score? 21 to three or something.
00:11:03.380
I blocked it out of my mind already. I just zoned out. Terrible, terrible stuff. And you know,
00:11:09.620
you know what? You know what the thing is, though? It's not fair. It's not fair. Lamar Jackson goes down
00:11:15.100
with a concussion. You know, Justin Tucker, the great field goal kicker of the Ravens.
00:11:21.920
You know, he's going to be the Hall of Fame. He's the most accurate kicker of all time. He misses two
00:11:25.640
kicks. It is not fair, I say. Not fair. In fact, here's what I think. Mike Pence needs to decertify
00:11:36.280
the results of this game. It is unconstitutional, illegitimate. I'm calling on Mike Pence to do the
00:11:43.480
right thing and decertify these results. We'll see. We'll see if he has the courage. He has the courage
00:11:49.380
to act in this moment of crisis for our nation. All right. Number one, we've been told about the
00:11:54.780
right-wing militias who are going to be storming the capitals across the country. Well, one such
00:11:59.480
group showed up at the Michigan State Capitol and they held, I guess, a press conference. Okay. And the
00:12:05.760
media also showed up to cover this press conference. But we're going to watch, we're going to listen and
00:12:10.580
watch this because there are just some odd details about this right-wing militia. Maybe you can
00:12:20.280
Antifa, Boogaloo, and right-wing militias, they are the antibodies, not the disease that is destroying
00:12:25.660
our country. The disease is a country run by two corrupt political parties that do not care about
00:12:31.040
you. So deeply, deeply, so deeply incensuous with corporations that they are indistinguishable
00:12:37.420
from each other. A government that spent six months debating whether to give their own people
00:12:42.460
$600 with only 24 hours to unanimously agree to give billions of dollars to foreign tyrannical
00:12:48.260
governments and corporations. A government that has bombed villages overseas my entire life
00:12:53.840
for my supposed safety here. This is a call for unity for all of American people that realize the
00:13:01.700
true threat against us to come together. Yeah. Okay. So a few things there and he, and he goes on,
00:13:11.300
it goes on for like another minute. And he, and he, he also mentions, you know, he's, he's speaking.
00:13:15.260
I don't think it was in that clip. He's, he's speaking out on behalf of, of the mothers who've
00:13:19.240
lost children to police brutality. He mentions that among other things now. So a few things.
00:13:25.200
Number one, you've got a few yahoos standing in front of the Michigan state Capitol, uh, with their,
00:13:32.360
you know, with, with their, their, their gear on and everything. And, uh, and, and, and then you
00:13:37.540
have this swarm of media people, cameras in their face. I mean, this guy, who is this guy? I don't
00:13:43.520
know who this guy is, right? He's holding a press conference and the whole media shows up to cover
00:13:49.600
it. Why are they covering it? But how is it, whatever this guy is saying, uh, why is that news?
00:13:59.200
Well, I mean, you, you can arrive at your own conclusions, but I'll just say this. The media
00:14:06.620
is not giving all of this attention to these people because they want to quell unrest or because
00:14:13.960
they want less of this. That's not how that works. If they really wanted less of it, then
00:14:21.280
they would just starve these people of attention. I mean, that's how, if you want the people that
00:14:26.820
were at the Michigan state Capitol, if you want them to go away, then what you do is just ignore
00:14:31.840
them. You let them stay out, stand outside and you just ignore them. And if they're giving a press
00:14:37.200
conference, he's giving a speech that he's reading off his phone, you ignore it. And then he would,
00:14:42.520
eventually they would go home because they're there for the attention, right? Well, the media
00:14:48.220
knows that, but, uh, but no, they want more of it because it's great for ratings. And also it's
00:14:52.660
great ideologically for them because they could try to put all this on the right. But the other
00:14:55.760
interesting thing is that, okay, you got this guy, you heard some of what he said there. Um, and he's,
00:15:00.200
he's, uh, he's carrying a rainbow flag, a gay pride flag. The person right next to him is wearing a BLM
00:15:07.100
hoodie. So you've got a guy with a beat with a rainbow gay pride flag, someone with, with BLM
00:15:13.680
gear. And he's ranting about, you know, corporations and police brutality is, it says a few things in
00:15:20.500
there that if you're on the right, you might agree with. And then a few things, if you're on the left,
00:15:23.540
you agree with, and a few things that probably everybody would agree with. And, you know, the
00:15:25.900
stuff about, uh, you know, they, they, they're not doing enough to help people during the shutdown.
00:15:30.020
Okay. Most people agree with that. So that's a general sentiment,
00:15:32.320
but how is this right wing is my question. You can make an argument for being left-wing.
00:15:39.960
You can make an argument for it being neither. It's not really in the binary as we like to say
00:15:43.560
these days, I don't see right wing, a guy with a rainbow flag standing next to a BLM person
00:15:49.620
talking about police brutality. That to me is not what I imagined when I imagined right-wing
00:15:54.180
militia. I, you know, maybe it's just me. All right. Number two, look, I, you know,
00:15:58.800
I give the media a hard time. I just did there again, but the truth is we do need the
00:16:02.280
media. Um, we need them to fight for truth and justice, uh, to ask the tough questions,
00:16:10.160
uh, to get down to what really matters. I mean, these are the firefighters, right? In the media.
00:16:15.180
These are the people who, uh, fight the fires. And if the fire is, is falsehood, they come in with
00:16:23.440
their hoses of truth and save the day. And I think that's what we see in the CBS interview with
00:16:30.520
Kamala Harris. I think we see a lot of that. It's just, it's really admirable stuff. So let's,
00:16:34.440
let's listen. And we had to ask about that fashion choice. Surely a first for a vice president,
00:16:40.700
the converse Chuck Taylor sneakers, the chucks. I got to tell you, when you walked in,
00:16:46.820
I checked out, is she wearing them? You're not wearing your chucks today.
00:16:51.660
What is the story? It became a story. I've always worn chucks. It's my casual go-to. I grew up with
00:17:02.080
chucks. I just love them. They're comfortable. I can attest. There is a several closets full of
00:17:08.100
them. He's exaggerating. Yeah. This wasn't just something that she started doing on the campaign.
00:17:14.940
And when I met her, it was chucks and jeans when she met the kids. And what did it say to you?
00:17:19.760
She's down to earth. People ask me all the time, like, what'd she really like? I said,
00:17:24.360
she's shockingly normal. I think that is really an extension of who she really is.
00:17:30.460
An extension of who she really is are her shoes. What did it say to you when you saw her wearing
00:17:37.120
those shoes? First of all, the honest answer from any man, if you're asking a man, what is your wife's
00:17:45.040
shoe choice? What does it say to you? The honest answer from any man is it says nothing to me I've
00:17:50.220
never noticed. Okay. I've never noticed the shoes that she's wearing in my life ever.
00:17:55.920
For all I know, my wife wears Chuck Taylors every day. I have no idea. It's just, it's not the kind
00:18:02.020
of thing you notice as a man or care about. We're supposed to believe when they first met, he saw those
00:18:08.600
Chuck Taylors and he said, no, she's down to earth. This is the woman of my dreams. And those Chuck
00:18:13.140
Taylors. Oh, just, it just became, how did the Chuck, how did Kamala Harris's shoe choice become a
00:18:20.960
story? It just, it just developed organically, right? Now it became a story because the media
00:18:25.240
made it into a story. Nobody else cares. The media is obsessed with this. This is, this is like the
00:18:30.620
15th profile they've done of Kamala Harris's shoes. At least if they were interesting shoes,
00:18:39.360
maybe if she was wearing like, you know, disco platform shoes or something, I could see it,
00:18:45.380
but not this. Um, and by the way, also today from the media, I saw this headline. The headline was
00:18:52.580
all the times Joe Biden's love for ice cream melted our hearts. Now, in fairness, this was from E
00:18:59.600
online, you know, the E, the entertainment channel. So you don't really expect hard hitting journalism
00:19:03.440
from them. But even that, I mean, compare the way the media is in love with the fact that Joe Biden
00:19:09.200
eats ice cream all the time and compare that with the fact that, you know, with, with, with Donald
00:19:13.080
Trump eating fast food, there's, there's, we never got any headlines about all the times, uh, uh,
00:19:21.580
Donald Trump's love for Big Macs melted our heart. No, in that case, it was, ah, this gross,
00:19:28.180
disgusting man with his unhealthy eating, making a mockery of the obesity epidemic.
00:19:35.780
So I'll get ready for a lot of this kind of thing. Number three, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
00:19:39.880
is putting her foot down once and for all. Uh, so you better listen up because she is serious this
00:19:46.500
time. Here she is. Listen, what we saw last week was not just a violent coup attempt. Um,
00:19:56.920
but we also, also saw a dereliction of duty and a betrayal of our country and a betrayal
00:20:09.640
I have demanded the resignations of senators, Ted Cruz, senators, Josh Hawley, um, majority leader,
00:20:20.980
Republican majority, or rather Republican minority leader in the house, um, McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy.
00:20:28.220
Yeah. And, you know, and I will counter that by saying I demand the resignations of
00:20:33.460
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, uh, Joe Biden, Kamail Harris, Mark Zuckerberg,
00:20:41.620
Colonel Sanders. I just, I demand everyone's resignation. Um, yeah, this is, we can make jokes
00:20:52.060
about it. Of course. It's just this, this impotent. I demand the resignations of, I demand
00:20:56.440
the resignations of, of all the Republicans in Congress. I demand it. I want your resignations on
00:21:02.500
my desk tonight. Uh, so we can laugh at the impotence of that, but, but really this is just
00:21:08.400
another example of you, you look at how the left has reacted to, uh, uh, one example of right-wingers
00:21:18.960
rioting. Okay. We, we've had, we had precisely one example of that period in memory. And this is
00:21:27.940
how they react to it. You know, they're, they're shutting everything down, demanding resignations
00:21:33.260
of everybody. Donald Trump has kicked off Twitter. They impeached him, you know, just, uh, uh, wiping
00:21:39.800
out thousands, millions of conservative accounts. They've, they've occupied DC with the military.
00:21:47.580
This is how they react to one on the left. Now compare that to how the right reacted to months
00:21:56.240
and months and months of left-wing rioting. Nothing. They didn't do anything. And they had
00:22:04.020
the power to do things. They were in a position of power. They did absolutely nothing. So if you
00:22:09.080
want to understand the difference between the left and right, between really Democrats and Republicans,
00:22:12.580
that's it right there. One example of, of right-wingers rioting, um, a small, and by the way,
00:22:20.340
a small percentage of the people that were at the rally engaging in this behavior. And, uh,
00:22:25.020
what the Democrats do, they just shut everything down, occupy the city, impeach everything.
00:22:31.600
Right. They go absolutely nuclear response to it. And on Republicans, very, very tolerant and patient.
00:22:37.660
You know, if you're on the left, you can just riot, riot all you want. We don't want to overstep
00:22:42.600
bounds. We don't want to do anything. You know, Donald Trump in fairness, he did, he did tweet law
00:22:48.320
and order in all caps. He tweeted that many times and conservatives made excuses for that. They said,
00:22:54.620
what else do you expect him to do? He's only the president. He can't do anything else. So he's
00:22:58.340
just, you know, he's just trying to respect, be respectful. And what do you think? What do you,
00:23:03.500
let me ask you, what do you think Joe Biden is going to do? If this becomes a semi-trend of, uh,
00:23:09.440
of, of small pockets of, uh, you know, Trump supporters or people that at least could be,
00:23:14.760
uh, at least they can claim our Trump, Trump supporters rioting or engaging in this kind of
00:23:19.840
behavior. If this becomes even a semi-trend, we don't even have to talk about hundreds of riots like we
00:23:24.200
had on the left. If there are even just a few of them through the first few months of, of Biden's
00:23:30.780
tenure, how do you think Biden's going to react to that? Or at least how do you think the Biden
00:23:34.640
administration is going to react to that? I mean, they will be occupying cities. They're going to
00:23:40.240
move the military and they're going to come down with an iron fist. They're already doing it
00:23:43.580
because they can. And why, why would they react that way? Because they can, because they have the
00:23:51.400
power to do it. And so they will. When Republicans have the power to do it, they just don't. And they
00:23:58.040
make excuses for it. And then when they no longer have the power to do anything, that's when they
00:24:02.680
pretend that if they only did have the power again, this time they would do something.
00:24:09.020
Okay. Number four, a treasure trove of newly unsealed, um, CIA records is from the daily mail,
00:24:13.940
uh, of newly unsealed CIA records has revealed chilling accounts of hundreds of UFO sightings across the
00:24:19.480
globe dating back to the 1950s, along with international intelligence agencies, efforts to
00:24:23.780
understand them. The XXXX dossier with, uh, nearly 3000 pages of documents about unidentified aerial
00:24:32.180
phenomena, uh, was published on the black vault website last week. That's what they call unidentified
00:24:37.680
aerial phenomena, UAP. They use that instead of UFO. You're not going to fool us government. We know
00:24:43.500
what you're doing. Um, thousands of paranormal, paranormal enthusiasts have already started
00:24:50.500
pouring through the collection of more than 700 individual documents. According to black vault's
00:24:54.200
founder, John Greenwald, the CIA purports that, uh, the files account for its entire collection of
00:24:59.740
declassified UAP Intel. Uh, I'm just reading through this as you are to get to where's the good stuff.
00:25:05.720
Maybe I should have read this before I went on the air. It says Russian airliner crew. Um, so it's just
00:25:10.380
some examples of some of this stuff. Now this is thousands of pages and no one's been through all
00:25:14.760
of it yet. So maybe, maybe the smoking gun as it were, uh, is, is in there somewhere, but it says
00:25:21.920
Russian airliner crew describes coming within 50 kilometers of a yellow disc shooting beams of
00:25:27.680
light in Belarus in 1985. So that's one, um, bunch of stuff from Russia in the eighties of weird
00:25:37.700
sightings. A Swedish pilot and flight mechanics spotted a completely unorthodox metallic object
00:25:43.820
flying at the speed of sound outside Stockholm in 1953. Uh, a CIA report from 19, from April 1954
00:25:51.880
includes three newspaper articles about a purported UFO sighting five months earlier in Sweden.
00:25:56.700
Okay. So a lot of, this is disappointing. This is depressing. This is almost as depressing as the
00:26:02.180
Ravens loss. This is just a bunch, this is a bunch of rehashed, reheated material right now.
00:26:06.760
Maybe the good stuff is in there. Like I said, it is a lot. It's a lot of stuff. It's a lot of
00:26:11.480
information. And there have been a lot of sightings like this, but really what you always have to do,
00:26:17.380
right? If you want to decide if you believe something or not, um, believe a claim such as
00:26:21.760
the claim that UFOs exist, UFOs exist as an alien, actual alien spacecraft exist and have visited the
00:26:28.720
earth. So if you want to, if you want to judge that claim, you have to judge the evidence,
00:26:32.000
the available evidence against what you expect the evidence would be if it were true,
00:26:39.460
which is a very unscientific process, but that's kind of the way you have to do it, right?
00:26:44.820
Because there is, there's a lot of evidence. This does count as evidence. All these claims,
00:26:49.500
these eyewitness, supposed eyewitness accounts, you got thousands and thousands of them.
00:26:53.860
Some of them more impressive than others. We've got some video, you know,
00:26:57.200
and there's no denying that that is evidence of UFOs. Now, whether it's compelling evidence to
00:27:04.480
you is really going to depend on whether or not you think that if UFOs were really visiting the
00:27:09.200
earth, is this the kind of evidence we would have, or would we have something far more compelling?
00:27:16.100
And, um, you could make the argument that, you know, if, if UFOs, if aliens were coming to earth
00:27:23.360
and they didn't want to be detected, this is probably about what you would get. Now, yeah,
00:27:28.640
if they wanted to land and make a big show of it, then we'd all know that. And that'd be pretty firm
00:27:32.200
evidence of that. But outside of that, if they, if they don't want to be detected, then probably
00:27:35.780
what you'd end up with are a bunch of random sightings like this, a few pieces of video that
00:27:40.460
are kind of compelling, but that's it. So in other words, I go back to my original assumption,
00:27:46.500
speaking of sticking with our original assumptions that UFOs are real. Okay. Um,
00:27:50.520
five from Politico, at least three Trump family members are either considering runs for office
00:27:55.660
or being urged to do so according to well-connected GOP operatives and Trump family allies. Uh, top
00:28:01.040
party officials say that, uh, Laura Trump, wife of the president's son, Eric is actively contemplating
00:28:06.200
a run for the Senate in North Carolina. Uh, the president's eldest son, Don Jr. is eyeing a future
00:28:10.580
in politics as well. But then it goes to, this is what I'm really focusing on. It says, and this is,
00:28:15.520
this is Politico. So of course, grains of salt and all that, but it says the newest and most buzzed
00:28:20.140
about possibility, however, surrounds the president's daughter, Ivanka. The senior white
00:28:24.340
house advisor is set to decamp to Florida after her father's presidency comes to a close. And
00:28:29.100
though talk of her launching a primary challenge, the Senator Marco Rubio has given off the faint
00:28:33.840
whiff of political fanfic. In reality, Trump officials say there have been machinations behind
00:28:39.040
the scenes. One person in contact with the president said that Jared Kushner is viewed as
00:28:43.080
working single-mindedly to protect and promote his wife's political career. Can I just tell you right
00:28:48.500
now, and I will start this movement unapologetically, um, I am hashtag never Ivanka. There's, there's no
00:28:57.500
reason why we should be talking about Ivanka Trump, the left-wing Democrat daughter of the president.
00:29:05.320
There's no reason why we should be talking about her for political office.
00:29:08.660
And I, and I, and I'm really not sure where her base of support is supposed to be because,
00:29:12.960
because she has Trump at the end of her name, she's automatically hated by like half of the country
00:29:19.180
and that's not going to change. So that's, that's 50% of the electorate that's out the window right
00:29:24.180
away because of her last name. And then what about the other half? Well, yeah, there, there, there's
00:29:28.640
going to be a certain portion of people who love Trump so much that they would embrace a Trump
00:29:33.600
monarchy. And, uh, and, uh, you know, they're, they're fine with the political, you know,
00:29:38.140
the political dynasty. And Hey, if it's Trump, I like it, but that's a minority. I think the
00:29:44.340
majority of Trump supporters and conservatives generally are going to look at this and say,
00:29:47.340
well, she's, but she's a Democrat. She's left-wing. She, we don't, we don't share the same ideas at
00:29:51.440
all. Why would I vote for her just because your daddy was the president that doesn't qualify you
00:29:57.340
for any political office at all. So it seems like she is uniquely positioned to be hated by almost
00:30:06.000
everybody. That's, that's just my political analysis of this. Well, I mean, what do I know?
00:30:11.800
I could be wrong. That's the way it seems to me. And I'll also say that, that just general principle
00:30:16.880
here, I think political dynasties are, they are honestly the most un-American thing you can possibly
00:30:24.060
conceive of. Now, unfortunately they're also common in America. So I call them un-American, but in another,
00:30:28.660
in another sense, they are very American because they've happened a lot. We, we know of recent
00:30:32.920
political dynasties, Bush, Clinton, et cetera. Um, but they are in spirit, the most, they're,
00:30:40.280
they're what we tried to get away from. This is one of the reasons we have this country is to get
00:30:44.060
away from this. Uh, the, the fact that you're related to a person in power doesn't mean that
00:30:50.820
you should also be in power, especially if you're Ivanka Trump. All right. You know, owning a pet is not
00:30:58.460
all just fun and games. It's also responsibility. If you have a pet, then you have a responsibility to care
00:31:02.580
for it. Even if, uh, it's not your pet, but you're living in the same house. And my, that's in my
00:31:07.040
case, I, my, my wife's cat, I, I am, um, I have to room with my wife's cat. They said that is a guest
00:31:15.420
in my house. And what I found is that even I am in a position where I have to take care of the cat,
00:31:21.020
even if it's not my cat. And that's why it's so great to have PetSmart. From the beginning of the

00:32:14.260
Again, that's PetSmart.com for more details. And also, you know, last Thursday was a big day for
00:32:20.260
the Daily Wire as we have made our entrance into the entertainment content space with our first feature
00:32:25.340
film, run, hide, fight. Uh, it's a movie that, you know, you know, I've been telling you, everyone
00:32:30.600
here at the Daily Wire has been telling you that it's a really effective thriller and, uh, just a
00:32:35.280
really solid, really good movie. But you don't have to believe us. Just go, go look at, look at what the
00:32:39.320
people are saying. The people have spoken. And, um, in fact, I went on Rotten Tomatoes and the last I
00:32:44.660
checked, it was something like, you know, you go to Rotten Tomatoes, you can see what the critics are
00:32:47.280
saying versus what people are saying. And it's something like general audience reviews,
00:32:51.740
like 95 percent. And then the critics give it a 14 percent grade. And anytime you see a disparity
00:32:59.060
like that, you, first of all, you know, it's going to be a good movie. And you know, there's a reason
00:33:03.860
why the critics are giving it a bad review. And it's not because of the quality of the content.
00:33:07.440
It could be that, you know, they don't like the fact that Daily Wire has anything to do with it.
00:33:11.460
But, um, that's why you need to check out this movie. If you aren't a member yet, use promo code
00:33:16.240
RHF to get 25 percent off. That's RHF for 25 percent off. Please be aware this film is not
00:33:21.720
political. It is intense. It's for mature audiences only. And, uh, so it's not a, it's not a movie you
00:33:27.020
sit down and watch with your kids. But we picked this movie after Hollywood refused to. Uh, critics
00:33:31.860
may have given it a 14 percent rating. It's right here on Rotten Tomatoes. But we're receiving
00:33:36.220
positive responses from thousands of, uh, of people since the premiere last Thursday. So now's your
00:33:40.880
chance. We're excited to bring you great stories that Hollywood refuses to tell. And we hope you'll join
00:33:44.620
us and become a member today at dailywire.com. Remember, you get 25 percent off when you use promo
00:33:49.180
code RHF. So go watch the movie now. And let's get to our daily cancellation.
00:33:59.160
Today for our first cancellation of the week, we'll be devoting the coveted Monday cancellation
00:34:03.160
to Bill Hanagee. Or Hanagee. I'm not really sure how to pronounce it. Let's just go with
00:34:07.520
Hanagee. He's a professor at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He's one of the many
00:34:11.880
prestigious public health experts that we've heard so much about. But like many other public
00:34:16.240
health experts, he seems to struggle with the health and expert part of that job. He's pretty
00:34:20.860
good at being public, though. He's got that down. But I don't know about the rest of it. As such,
00:34:25.520
he tweeted this week at a picture of himself looking sweaty and haggard in a face mask with the caption,
00:34:30.640
yes, I wore a mask while running earlier. So he went running with a mask on and then he stopped and
00:34:36.660
took a picture and bragged about it. Hanagee's also made TV appearances to brag about wearing a mask
00:34:42.580
while running. Here he is on a show in, I assume, Ireland. And here's what he had to say. Listen.
00:34:47.680
So if we're outside, we're traditionally told we don't need to wear a mask as much. We're not
00:34:52.200
at as much risk. But if we're out, for example, exercising, running, jogging, should we be wearing masks?
00:34:58.740
I think that's a really great point. You're absolutely right that the risk of transmission
00:35:02.780
outdoors is much, much lower than it is indoors. This virus loves it indoors. But if you are going to
00:35:09.140
be outdoors, then it's quite sensible to take a mask with you. If you're out jogging, you can take
00:35:13.400
it down and pull it up if you see anybody. You should take it like, you know, think of it like
00:35:16.980
this. You wouldn't leave the house without your wallet, your car keys or your phone. Try not leaving
00:35:22.460
the house without a mask. What about convincing people to do that? Because we see some level of
00:35:27.140
resistance. Wearing masks whilst exercising is a big step, is it not? Well, I can tell you personally
00:35:34.620
that I run over a mile on a regular basis wearing a mask and it doesn't really cause me a great deal
00:35:39.280
of bother. The other thing I need to say here is that if we can persuade people to do it, that's
00:35:44.980
great. The more people we can persuade, the better. Because these variants are more transmissible,
00:35:50.300
we do need to do more to stop them. And so, you know, we have to race the virus in order to get as
00:35:55.440
many people vaccinated as possible. And anybody who can do anything to help by wearing a mask,
00:36:00.100
for instance, is doing something to help her. Anything you can do to help is doing something
00:36:05.220
to help. Did you get that? That's good advice. Now, in a thread on Twitter, Hanegi further defended
00:36:10.100
his choice to wear a mask while running outdoors. And his argument essentially boils down to two
00:36:13.180
points. Number one, he says there's still some risk of contracting or spreading COVID outside.
00:36:17.400
So it's smart to wear the mask. And number two, wearing the mask is a show of solidarity with other
00:36:21.920
mask wearers. He really said this. It's a show of solidarity. So let's deal with these points one at a
00:36:26.260
time. First, there's still a risk outside. So better safe than sorry. Okay. Well,
00:36:29.800
the problem here, the problem with nearly all of the arguments presented in defense of nearly all
00:36:33.580
of the anti-COVID measures is that they do not acknowledge the risks on the other side. They act
00:36:38.520
as though the person taking these precautions is playing with house money, basically. Like there's
00:36:43.460
no risk at all inherent in the precaution itself. The most obvious example is with the lockdowns.
00:36:48.820
Well, better to do the safest thing and shut everybody, everything down. Yes. Well,
00:36:52.800
the problem is that there's a real cost to that decision. There's real risks involved. It may not
00:36:57.300
actually be the safest thing. That's the point. It's like saying better to do the safest thing
00:37:03.280
and fire a gun into that dark room in case there's a burglar in there. Now, yes, that strategy could
00:37:08.660
theoretically work, but there are a whole lot of ways that it could go very wrong. And you have to
00:37:13.080
factor that into your equation. With the mask, the question is this. What is the actual risk of
00:37:20.440
spreading or contracting COVID while you run outside? And maybe come within a few feet of

other humans for a second or two while you pass by them? And what is the risk to your health when
00:37:32.860
you put something across your face while engaged in strenuous exercise? Now you have to simply determine
00:37:38.360
which poses the greater risk. This is how you conduct the risk assessment. You need all the
00:37:44.020
inputs. You can't possibly come to the right conclusion if you're only accounting for risk from one
00:37:49.360
direction. And as far as that goes, the World Health Organization has this to say, quote,
00:37:54.320
this is what they say. Fact. People should not wear masks while exercising as masks may reduce the
00:37:59.800
ability to breathe comfortably. Sweat can make the mask become wet more quickly, which makes it
00:38:05.140
difficult to breathe and promotes the growth of microorganisms. The important preventive measure
00:38:09.340
during exercise is to maintain physical distance of at least one meter from others.
00:38:13.920
Now, if I could translate here and simplify, wearing a mask while exercising is gross.
00:38:19.360
Disgusting. You are breathing in your own sweat and bodily fumes. You are saturating a piece of cloth
00:38:26.720
with your perspiration and then breathing through it. See, I actually don't need the World Health
00:38:32.060
Organization to tell me that that's unhealthy. I know it's unhealthy because I understand a basic
00:38:37.940
health rule. I'm not a doctor, okay? But I'm pretty sure this is actually like the number one health
00:38:44.660
rule. It's right. This is it. Breathing is good. You need to be able to breathe. Things that hinder
00:38:53.580
breathing are usually bad. And if that thing is a face-soaked, is a face muzzle soaked in your own
00:39:01.940
bodily fluids, it's especially bad. And his second point about wearing a mask for solidarity is so dumb
00:39:08.420
that it probably doesn't require refutation. But I will say this. Speaking of solidarity,
00:39:13.820
I would rather show solidarity with people who are not paranoid lunatics. I want to show solidarity
00:39:19.820
with people who are willing to stroll down the street without a mask. People who have at least the
00:39:24.240
minimal courage and boldness to walk outside their house and take a breath of fresh air unfiltered.
00:39:30.400
Those are the people with which I claim solidarity. Not the cowering hypochondriacs who treat oxygen like
00:39:38.640
it's radioactive, who can't even walk to their mailbox without a hazmat suit. So that's why this
00:39:47.220
public health expert, like so many others before him, in accordance with tradition, is canceled.
00:39:53.400
I certainly do not have solidarity with him. So he is canceled. That's going to do it for
00:40:00.640
the show today. Thanks for watching, everybody. Thanks for listening. Have a great day. Godspeed.
