The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 778 - Fleeing Taliban Runs For Cover As US Sends Sternly Worded Letters

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, already the clamoring has begun to accept thousands of Afghan refugees.

00:00:06.480 Meanwhile, our own people, thousands of them, are still trapped in Afghanistan,

00:00:09.900 and the Biden administration is not guaranteeing that they will all be rescued.

00:00:12.900 This is another example of what an America last policy looks like.

00:00:16.180 Also, a top vaccine official in Tennessee said that she was mailed a dog muzzle as a threat from anti-vaxxers.

00:00:22.340 You'll never guess who really sent it.

00:00:24.280 Well, you probably already have guessed, but still.

00:00:25.760 Meanwhile, New Zealand goes into full lockdown over one COVID case.

00:00:29.900 Just one.

00:00:30.540 And Australia has now instructed its people that they must not drink outside without a mask.

00:00:35.680 And the biggest news of all, of course, is Carrie Underwood sparking controversy by liking one of my tweets.

00:00:41.620 This headline-making news has caused lots of distress to lots of people, and it's all quite hilarious.

00:00:46.880 We'll talk about that today and more on Matt Wall Show.

00:00:49.240 Before we get going here today, I want to listen to a word from one of our favorite sponsors here is Charity Mobile.

00:01:04.660 And the reason we love Charity Mobile so much is it's a great service and a great company,

00:01:08.020 but also it gives us an opportunity to support a company that doesn't hate our guts, which is always nice because you're forcing your money into the hands of people who hate you much of the time when you're out there, you know, buying anything really or taking advantage of any service.

00:01:22.820 But here's a chance to support a company that actually supports you.

00:01:26.460 Charity Mobile is the pro-life phone company, and they're a pro-life phone company because 5% of your monthly plan price goes to the pro-family, pro-life charity of your choice.

00:01:36.280 What that means is that you're joining a company that shares your beliefs and won't cancel or censor you for them.

00:01:40.420 In fact, they're going to help spread those beliefs and encourage them and support them in the culture, which is so important.

00:01:45.700 You're also getting excellent coverage with nationwide service on America's most reliable network.

00:01:50.140 Charity Mobile makes it easy to switch also.

00:01:51.680 You can keep your existing phone number, and you may even be able to keep your existing phone as well.

00:01:55.940 But 5G phones are also available, so it's easy to do.

00:01:59.400 It's a great company, a great service, and you're helping to build a culture of life in America simply by paying your bill every month.

00:02:06.380 You cannot beat it.

00:02:07.140 So switch to Charity Mobile and support a company that causes and causes that you care about.

00:02:11.180 Call them at 1-877-474-3662 or chat with them online at charitymobile.com and mention the offer code Walsh.

00:02:18.220 We began the show yesterday with a spokesman for the State Department standing in front of the press

00:02:23.340 and bravely demanding that the Taliban become an inclusive and equitable organization.

00:02:29.040 Our government has been unequivocal about this.

00:02:31.340 The bloodthirsty, cave-dwelling goat herders, frozen in time since the year 750, must immediately and without delay adopt the value system of a 20-year-old women's studies major. 1.00

00:02:42.760 Last night, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield appeared on CNN to again drive this point home, 0.99

00:02:49.000 and they just sound dumber and dumber every time they do it. 0.97

00:02:52.100 So here's the latest. 0.99

00:02:53.160 Listen.

00:02:53.280 We are hearing from people in Afghanistan that they are getting threats from the Taliban,

00:03:00.020 and we have expressed in no uncertain terms here at the United Nations through a very strongly worded press statement from the Security Council

00:03:09.520 that we expect the Taliban to respect human rights, including the rights of women and girls.

00:03:15.580 We have also indicated that they have to be respectful of humanitarian law and that we do not expect to see that Afghanistan will become a safe haven for terrorists.

00:03:29.040 A very strongly worded press statement.

00:03:32.540 Not just a strongly worded press statement, a very strongly worded press statement.

00:03:37.380 The Taliban must be shaking in their Birkenstocks. 0.92

00:03:39.760 You can imagine them fleeing for cover, running and screaming,

00:03:42.940 Take cover! A press statement! They issued a press statement! Get down!

00:03:47.780 Hopefully there will not be a need to use this kind of force again, though,

00:03:50.980 as the Taliban has promised, pinky promised, as I understand, to behave themselves 0.95

00:03:55.160 and be very respectful of women and minorities and all protected classes of people.

00:03:59.360 The UN, for its part, is ready to take the Taliban at its word. 0.86

00:04:02.720 Here's this from Reuters.

00:04:03.700 They say the chief of field operations of the UN Children's Agency expressed cautious optimism

00:04:08.520 about working with Taliban officials following their seizure of power in Afghanistan,

00:04:12.280 citing their early expressions of support for girls' education.

00:04:16.200 Quote,

00:04:16.420 We have ongoing discussions. We are quite optimistic based on those discussions.

00:04:20.300 UNICEF's chief of field operations in Afghanistan told a UN briefing,

00:04:23.740 adding that 11 out of 13 field offices were currently operational.

00:04:27.300 We have not a single issue with the Taliban in those field offices.

00:04:31.120 Well, it's good that they're optimistic.

00:04:32.620 The people clinging to the outside of a C-17 to get out of the country did not appear to be

00:04:37.220 quite as optimistic, however, and there is reason to lend more credibility to their assessment

00:04:42.700 than to the UN.

00:04:44.540 One reason is just that the UN is a scourge on this earth and nothing they say about anything is true.

00:04:50.920 But also, and here's a basic fact that seems to be incomprehensible to so many people in the West,

00:04:57.600 but we have to understand this.

00:04:59.520 If you want to understand anything about how the world works, you need to know this.

00:05:04.880 Members of the Taliban, like so many non-Western people, do not believe in women's rights.

00:05:11.760 In fact, they don't believe in rights at all.

00:05:15.160 I know that seems shocking to people these days.

00:05:16.980 How could you not believe in rights?

00:05:18.200 Well, they don't.

00:05:19.580 They have no concept of human rights.

00:05:21.540 They have no language for it. 0.96

00:05:24.840 Things like humanitarian law and human rights, these are uniquely Western and uniquely modern.

00:05:32.780 They are not universally recognized truths, but rather dogmas.

00:05:37.160 They're part of a religious creed, which is peculiar to our age and our civilization.

00:05:42.160 As it turns out, history did not begin 10 years ago,

00:05:44.920 and the earth does in fact expand beyond our local boundaries.

00:05:48.700 Just because we have a certain way of looking at things,

00:05:52.520 that doesn't mean that everyone has always looked at it that way,

00:05:56.200 either in the past or the present.

00:05:57.940 Now, that's not to say that all beliefs are valid and everyone's perspective is true in its own way.

00:06:02.580 I'm not making a pitch for relativism here, but for realism.

00:06:06.760 I believe that we have God-given rights, understood a certain way,

00:06:10.140 though even we don't really understand what we mean when we talk about rights,

00:06:13.500 which is why none of us can agree about what our rights are or where they come from.

00:06:17.780 Yet, I believe there is a truth here, an objective truth.

00:06:20.980 The point simply is that in order to see this truth,

00:06:23.080 you need a certain philosophical and religious framework,

00:06:25.940 yes, religious framework, which does not exist in that part of the world.

00:06:31.860 Human rights are, at root, a Christian theological concept.

00:06:37.140 That's what they are.

00:06:38.140 That's what they will always be.

00:06:39.340 So, in order to get anyone to really recognize and respect human rights,

00:06:45.340 you first have to convince them to adopt the entire framework upon which human rights are based.

00:06:51.520 But that's not a project that can be accomplished in 20 years or double that time or triple that time.

00:06:57.140 And it's not a goal that our government is capable of achieving in any length of time,

00:07:01.060 because our government is now and has been for a long while run by people who also reject the human rights framework.

00:07:09.040 Most of the people, like those in the UN or the State Department,

00:07:11.620 who demand that the whole world respect human rights,

00:07:14.600 they don't themselves respect human rights.

00:07:16.560 And worse still, they can't articulate any reason why anyone actually ought to respect them.

00:07:23.520 Nor can they explain what human rights are or where they come from.

00:07:26.820 The people proclaiming this gospel of human rights have not read it, don't agree with it, don't like it.

00:07:35.480 Which is all the more reason to abandon our colonial ambitions and return home,

00:07:40.020 to rescue our nation from its own collapse.

00:07:43.480 Now, of course, when I say return home, I mean everyone.

00:07:46.360 All of the Americans in Afghanistan need to be brought home, 1.00

00:07:48.760 which is a point that the Biden administration apparently thinks is negotiable.

00:07:52.100 Jen Psaki, when asked about the Americans trapped in Afghanistan

00:07:54.900 and asked if she could guarantee that all of these people would be able to leave,

00:08:01.680 well, she very noticeably did not issue that guarantee.

00:08:05.480 Here she is.

00:08:06.460 Can you offer any guarantee to the Americans and Afghan allies

00:08:12.000 that if they remain there past the end of the month,

00:08:15.860 U.S. troops will help them evacuate past the end of the month?

00:08:19.480 Weijia, our focus right now is undoing the work at hand and on the task at hand.

00:08:24.340 And that is day by day, getting as many American citizens, as many SIV applicants, 1.00

00:08:29.480 as many members of a vulnerable population who are eligible to be evacuated to the airport and out on planes.

00:08:35.860 And we're going to do that in an expeditious fashion.

00:08:38.300 That is the focus of the president, of our secretary of defense, of our secretary of state,

00:08:42.800 and everybody on our national security team.

00:08:44.900 So that is where we will keep our efforts.

00:08:46.920 Go ahead.

00:08:47.160 So no guarantee, in other words.

00:08:49.880 And the government has been more explicit about this elsewhere.

00:08:53.460 According to The Atlantic, an email was sent out to Americans stranded in Afghanistan

00:08:57.340 telling them they should make their own way to the airport.

00:09:00.980 They're on their own for that part of the trip.

00:09:03.320 Like, get yourself here.

00:09:04.260 That's up to you.

00:09:05.420 And during that process, their safety cannot be assured.

00:09:08.340 The email said, quote,

00:09:09.840 Please be advised, the United States government cannot guarantee your security as you make this trip.

00:09:15.940 Meanwhile, as Jen Psaki stipulated, 1.00

00:09:18.700 the focus remains on not just evacuating Americans, but also SIV applicants and vulnerable populations.

00:09:25.060 There are 10,000 Americans still in Afghanistan.

00:09:29.660 The government has gotten hundreds of people out of the country so far, not nearly fast enough.

00:09:34.540 And the vast majority of the people evacuated are not American citizens.

00:09:39.800 They're at the back of the line.

00:09:41.340 As it stands right now, based on the latest report,

00:09:43.880 the non-American evacuees outnumber the Americans by like three to one.

00:09:48.840 It would be too generous to say that the Biden administration is, you know,

00:09:52.700 treating Afghans and Americans equally in the evacuation process.

00:09:56.620 That would be bad enough.

00:09:59.020 It's more true to say that they are prioritizing non-Americans. 1.00

00:10:05.320 This was illustrated in stark detail when the first plane took off from the airport.

00:10:10.220 We know what the outside of the plane looked like.

00:10:13.120 But if you look at the inside, check out the inside of the plane.

00:10:17.120 And what do you see when you look at this picture?

00:10:19.200 Not only are there easily 10 times the number of men than women and children,

00:10:25.840 but every single one of these people would appear to be Afghans.

00:10:30.080 The very first people we got out of the country, the first plane load, our first priority were Afghans. 1.00

00:10:37.300 I don't know how else to describe this other than the word diabolical.

00:10:41.700 We are leaving Americans to die while carting Afghan citizens out of the country by the plane load. 1.00

00:10:47.560 And now we have both Republicans and Democrats solemnly insisting that our first priority is to bring these foreign citizens into our country in a hurry all at once. 1.00

00:10:57.900 There are almost 200 countries on this planet, okay?

00:11:02.480 And for some reason, it has to always fall to us, always, to take in the refugees. 1.00

00:11:09.440 It's always our responsibility.

00:11:11.060 The UN has said that, too.

00:11:14.320 Well, you got to bring them in.

00:11:16.840 What about everybody else?

00:11:18.400 What about the rest of you guys?

00:11:19.880 What are you doing?

00:11:21.760 What about the surrounding Muslim countries?

00:11:25.900 So these people can go to a culture that is familiar to them.

00:11:32.880 Why aren't you stepping up to the plate?

00:11:34.400 And many of the people who insist that, you know, we need to bring in the refugees, they also believe that America is a racist, oppressive dystopia, not that dissimilar from Afghanistan under the Taliban.

00:11:49.820 So you would think that they would want the refugees to go elsewhere for their own sake.

00:11:53.900 But then that would be to expect intellectual consistency from these people, which is always too much to ask.

00:12:01.360 You know, I don't see why it should be our job, our responsibility, much less a safe and prudent plan to accept an unchecked flood of fighting age Afghan males. 1.00

00:12:10.880 And who knows how many of whom are Taliban or at least sympathetic to the Taliban.

00:12:16.320 You know, that's not a safe plan to begin with.

00:12:19.020 And if you trust the government to sift through these people and to go through the vetting process and to do it well, if you trust them, then you just haven't been paying attention at all.

00:12:37.420 But at any rate, we shouldn't even be having that conversation until all of the Americans are home. 0.58

00:12:43.040 You know, not one Afghan should be on an American transport leaving the country until every single American has been safely retrieved. 0.98

00:12:54.260 And the Biden administration, if it gave the slightest damn about its own people, would be on TV every hour of the day assuring us that they will move heaven and earth.

00:13:03.440 They will do whatever needs to be done.

00:13:05.240 They will drop whatever bombs have to be dropped. 1.00

00:13:07.380 They will kill whoever they need to kill in order to get our people out. 0.99

00:13:11.340 That's what they would be saying. 0.96

00:13:15.980 They would be saying, we're going to get our people out. 1.00

00:13:17.720 Anyone who stops us, we will kill them. 1.00

00:13:19.360 We will destroy them. 1.00

00:13:22.520 Instead, they yawn and say, yeah, well, you know, we'll get a few of them out maybe if they manage to survive the trip to the airport. 0.95

00:13:28.020 Because by the way, we shut down our Air Force base before we started the evacuation process.

00:13:32.780 Great plan there.

00:13:35.000 We have to understand that what we are witnessing now is not mere incompetence.

00:13:38.340 This is rather the inevitable result of an American government that doesn't put America first.

00:13:44.460 And that phrase, America first, should not be a partisan slogan or a slogan at all.

00:13:49.440 It shouldn't even need to be said.

00:13:51.540 Obviously, we should put our own people first.

00:13:54.020 We're Americans.

00:13:55.240 They're our people.

00:13:56.040 Just as you shouldn't ever need to say or clarify that you put your own family above your neighbor's family.

00:14:03.580 It should be obvious and your actions should never cause anyone to question whether you have that value system or not.

00:14:12.920 Yet, as far as America first, we do need to say it now because our country is run by people who don't understand the world they're operating within,

00:14:18.980 don't care about the country they're in charge of, and don't even like the people they lead.

00:14:26.600 Incompetent?

00:14:27.060 No.

00:14:27.320 They're doing exactly what they mean to do.

00:14:30.340 Exactly how they mean to do it.

00:14:33.220 And that's the problem.

00:14:35.580 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:14:36.880 If you use a Helix mattress like I do, and hopefully you do, then you know the experience of if you're staying at someone else's house,

00:14:50.120 you're traveling, you're at a hotel where they don't have a Helix mattress,

00:14:53.340 that can always be a little bit traumatizing to have that experience because no other mattress lives up to the Helix mattress.

00:15:00.440 That's the downside is that you kind of see what you're missing when you go somewhere else.

00:15:05.100 But when you're at your home on that mattress, you cannot beat it.

00:15:08.740 Look, Helix Sleep has a quiz that takes just two minutes to complete,

00:15:11.520 and it matches your body type and sleep preferences to the perfect mattress for you.

00:15:24.700 Helix Sleep has the perfect mattress, and it takes just a couple of minutes to fill out this quiz.

00:15:28.900 So you might as well go give it a shot.

00:15:49.140 for our listeners at helixsleep.com slash Walsh.

00:15:51.620 That's helixsleep.com slash Walsh for up to $200 off your mattress order.

00:15:55.240 All right, by the way, a quick update on this for the people that have been asking.

00:16:02.640 As you know, this psychological warfare that is being waged on me by members of my family

00:16:11.760 to try to convince me to get a dog,

00:16:13.420 and I did find myself just this past weekend at an animal shelter looking at dogs,

00:16:23.300 which again is not a smart move, but I was there.

00:16:29.740 We were looking at the dogs.

00:16:31.220 And you have to understand, first we had my wife and my kids.

00:16:35.320 A couple of weeks ago, they were trying to convince me that we should adopt this little

00:16:41.200 poodle, chihuahua, mangy-looking thing. 0.99

00:16:45.540 Totally useless dog. 0.95

00:16:47.340 And then we're at the animal shelter looking at some of the dogs, 0.94

00:16:51.820 and now they're trying to convince me to adopt an enormous four-year-old Rottweiler

00:16:58.400 and bring that into the house. 1.00

00:17:00.480 Now, what you have to understand, now I'm not an expert on these issues at all,

00:17:06.580 but, you know, there's a reason why a dog is at an animal shelter,

00:17:12.300 and if it's a Rottweiler at an animal shelter,

00:17:15.200 there's probably a reason why it was there.

00:17:16.800 Now, if you look on all the cages, and it says, like,

00:17:19.820 how did this dog end up in the animal shelter?

00:17:22.360 And every single one of them says, oh, it was a stray that just wandered in.

00:17:25.760 They were all strays.

00:17:26.600 Yeah, I'm sure they were.

00:17:27.900 Right.

00:17:28.220 Yeah, it's a lot of owners bringing their dogs in and saying,

00:17:32.340 oh, yeah, this is a stray.

00:17:33.480 It's not mine because they don't want to admit what they're doing.

00:17:36.740 So I get the feeling that my wife and kids, when it comes to the dog search,

00:17:42.320 are motivated primarily by emotions here.

00:17:48.040 And their guiding principle is what's the cutest.

00:17:51.520 Let's just bring the cutest thing. 0.90

00:17:52.720 Even if it's useless or it could be a snarling, rabid death machine,

00:17:56.840 doesn't matter as long as it's cute.

00:17:59.900 That's what I'm up against.

00:18:01.780 All right.

00:18:02.060 So here's a fun story.

00:18:03.300 Michelle Fiscus was one of the top vaccine officials here in Tennessee.

00:18:07.120 She was fired justifiably after distributing a memo encouraging medical professionals

00:18:11.880 to vaccinate children without their parents' consent.

00:18:16.180 Or, excuse me, let me clarify.

00:18:18.740 Rather, she shared information about how they could do that,

00:18:23.860 not that she was suggesting it.

00:18:26.360 All she was saying, she distributed the memo saying,

00:18:30.180 hey, I'm just saying you could vaccinate kids without their parental consent.

00:18:34.540 I'm not encouraging you.

00:18:35.940 But by the way, here's the law.

00:18:38.160 And by the way, you could do that.

00:18:40.080 Hint, hint, wink, wink.

00:18:40.840 And in the middle of that backlash, because this creep was trying to supersede the authority

00:18:51.060 of parents, encouraging people to inject these substances into kids without parents even

00:18:56.320 knowing, in the middle of that backlash, before leaving her position, she claimed to have received

00:19:00.920 a dog muzzle in the mail as a threat of some kind from presumably an anti-vaxxer, probably

00:19:07.260 a Trump supporter, one of those dangerous people, you know.

00:19:09.920 So here she is on CNN, this was a few weeks ago, talking about this terrible threat that

00:19:14.760 she received.

00:19:15.200 Let's watch this.

00:19:16.780 I understand.

00:19:17.580 So just last week, before you were fired, you received a disturbing Amazon package at

00:19:22.760 your office.

00:19:24.400 What was in it?

00:19:25.600 And what did you think when you received it?

00:19:28.560 Hi, Anderson.

00:19:29.520 Thank you so much for having me.

00:19:31.100 Yes, the week before I was terminated from the Department of Health, I received a package

00:19:36.180 that contained a dog muzzle.

00:19:39.020 And at first, I thought that was a joke and contacted a few friends.

00:19:43.020 And then when no one claimed it, realized that that was something that was sent to me

00:19:48.360 as some kind of a message, I suppose.

00:19:50.940 I understand.

00:19:51.580 I think it was your husband who said, or you said something to your husband that he recounted.

00:19:55.380 What was it you said?

00:19:56.080 I said that they obviously didn't know me because they sent me a size three, which is

00:20:02.160 for beagles.

00:20:02.880 And I'm obviously a pit bull, which requires a size six.

00:20:07.900 Really clever. 0.67

00:20:09.520 She's a pit bull. 1.00

00:20:10.460 All right. 0.83

00:20:12.680 Question.

00:20:13.760 Again, not being an expert on dogs.

00:20:15.500 Are pit bulls known for lying?

00:20:17.300 Are they a particularly deceptive breed of dog?

00:20:19.820 Maybe they are.

00:20:20.940 Because if so, she's a pit bull. 1.00

00:20:22.300 Because as it turns out, this was all shockingly a lie.

00:20:26.620 Now we have this from the Daily Wire.

00:20:28.040 It says, an investigation revealed the muzzle was actually purchased on Fiscus's own credit

00:20:33.200 card, though she still denies that she sent the muzzle to herself as some sort of hate hoax.

00:20:38.960 According to Axios, an investigation from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland

00:20:42.040 Security revealed that the Amazon package containing the dog muzzle was traced back to a credit

00:20:46.560 card in Fiscus's name.

00:20:49.480 So no problem here.

00:20:50.560 It's a former government official in charge of the vaccines in the state.

00:20:55.800 Mailing a dog muzzle to herself. 1.00

00:20:59.640 And so stupid. 1.00

00:21:02.460 Here's the thing that where you want to say. 1.00

00:21:06.560 It's almost hard to believe you almost want to give her the benefit of the doubt because you say, 0.99

00:21:10.360 would she really be so dumb as to perpetrate this hoax in the first place, 0.98

00:21:15.480 but then to put it on her own credit card? 1.00

00:21:17.140 How stupid do you have to be? 1.00

00:21:21.960 Like, why wouldn't you go at least, if you're going to do this, go to a PetSmart or something, 1.00

00:21:26.940 buy the thing in cash, and then mail it to yourself at a, you know, a mailbox somewhere in a shopping

00:21:32.360 center?

00:21:33.320 A little bit harder to trace.

00:21:34.580 If you're going to do this whole thing, then, I mean, really go for it.

00:21:38.880 Instead, she just went on Amazon with her own credit card, sent it to herself,

00:21:42.380 knowing it would be investigated and they could easily obtain this information.

00:21:47.300 So you want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but of course you can't because 1.00

00:21:52.780 these hate hoaxers, as we have learned time and time again, really are this stupid or maybe not so stupid at all. 1.00

00:22:02.320 Maybe she realized that it didn't matter whether it was true or not. 1.00

00:22:05.940 All that matters is the initial headline, as we have also learned time and time again with these hoaxes.

00:22:13.440 All you got to do is get the initial headline, you become a victim, you get all that attention,

00:22:19.340 which you can profit off of and capitalize on.

00:22:22.980 If a few weeks later or even a few days later, if it turns out the whole thing was made up,

00:22:27.860 no, it's all of the people who are willing to accept you as a martyr, they don't care.

00:22:34.400 The truth doesn't mean anything to them. 1.00

00:22:38.700 So it might not be so stupid after all. 0.97

00:22:41.800 She realizes that the people this is meant to appeal to, for them, the truth is totally irrelevant. 0.99

00:22:47.880 So who cares?

00:22:50.360 And that's exactly how it has turned out.

00:22:54.760 And she's still denying it.

00:22:56.140 She's saying, I didn't send it to myself.

00:22:57.500 I guess the person who sent the dog muzzle first stole her credit card,

00:23:02.920 maybe stole it from her purse, bought the dog muzzle, mailed it to her,

00:23:07.360 and then snuck into her house in the middle of the night and put the credit card back in her purse.

00:23:10.800 You never know.

00:23:11.420 Could have happened.

00:23:14.800 All right.

00:23:15.340 Next we have Jack Jenkins, a religious news service reporter on Twitter has this.

00:23:21.920 He says,

00:23:22.340 Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky mandates COVID-19 vaccines for staff as a condition of employment.

00:23:28.940 Bishop John Stowe of the diocese say that says there is no religious exemption for Catholics to being vaccinated.

00:23:35.640 And Pope Francis has repeatedly called this a moral obligation.

00:23:39.740 Yeah, it's a moral obligation to get vaccinated, he says.

00:23:46.340 Which is obviously nonsense.

00:23:47.920 But what makes this all the more frustrating and irritating is that this language of moral obligation,

00:23:57.880 this is exactly the kind of language that many of us in the Catholic Church,

00:24:04.340 many of the laity have been calling on bishops to use for decades.

00:24:08.260 By and large, with some exceptions, the leadership in the Catholic Church, in America anyway,

00:24:17.400 and beyond America, unfortunately, has given up the language of moral obligation.

00:24:21.220 They don't talk about it anymore.

00:24:25.080 And they certainly don't put their foot down about anything.

00:24:29.840 Taking a bold stand, drawing a line, and saying you cannot cross this line.

00:24:34.000 Here's what it means to be a Catholic.

00:24:37.740 Here are your moral obligations.

00:24:39.660 Here are your responsibilities.

00:24:43.040 For decades, they've abandoned this language.

00:24:45.780 They don't want to talk about it.

00:24:46.780 And now, finally, these bishops, 0.96

00:24:50.080 these weak, whimpering bishops, 0.98

00:24:53.300 with no spine, no courage to stand up against any evil at all, 1.00

00:24:58.180 to call out any sin,

00:25:00.700 now they have finally found an evil and a sin,

00:25:03.540 and a villain that they're willing to call out,

00:25:06.260 and that would be the unvaccinated.

00:25:08.640 They finally discover, these people, a moral obligation.

00:25:12.560 And it is the obligation to get vaccinated,

00:25:14.840 just as the government tells you to.

00:25:16.580 That's the moral obligation.

00:25:19.940 I mean, the moral obligation to,

00:25:21.940 you know, care for your own children

00:25:25.060 rather than killing them in the womb. 1.00

00:25:27.700 A lot of these bishops, they don't even talk about that. 0.87

00:25:29.600 They don't want to talk about that.

00:25:30.460 The moral obligation to chastity.

00:25:35.380 They don't talk about that.

00:25:37.540 Any virtue.

00:25:38.460 They're not going to discuss that.

00:25:40.880 Because that would be otherizing, right?

00:25:42.880 That would be, that would turn people off.

00:25:45.500 That would upset people.

00:25:47.060 That's not welcoming.

00:25:48.080 You know, the focus in the church has been on,

00:25:50.480 let's welcome in.

00:25:51.260 Let's throw open the doors and welcome everyone.

00:25:53.700 Even if they're not Catholic 0.55

00:25:54.860 and have no interest in being Catholic whatsoever.

00:25:58.120 They're opposed to the Catholic faith

00:25:59.740 and everything we stand for.

00:26:00.620 Let's welcome them in.

00:26:01.880 Let's put them in positions of leadership even.

00:26:06.580 It doesn't matter.

00:26:07.100 Let's have priests 0.95

00:26:08.000 who don't even believe any of this stuff.

00:26:09.660 It doesn't make a difference.

00:26:10.260 Now they have finally,

00:26:14.700 now after decades of this

00:26:16.540 and the church in the midst of a full-scale collapse

00:26:20.760 in this country and across the West

00:26:22.340 because of this,

00:26:23.420 now they have finally

00:26:24.600 closed the doors a little bit

00:26:26.600 and said, okay,

00:26:27.720 we're not going to be welcoming of everyone.

00:26:29.280 Who aren't we going to welcome?

00:26:30.300 The unvaccinated.

00:26:31.120 And also this from CNN

00:26:36.140 says New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern

00:26:39.660 has announced a nationwide lockdown

00:26:41.840 after the country confirmed,

00:26:43.340 well, we'll get to that in a second.

00:26:44.980 Let's listen first to Jacinda Ardern

00:26:46.840 and then we'll talk about what prompted this.

00:26:48.680 But here is Jacinda, Prime Minister,

00:26:51.740 announcing this lockdown

00:26:53.400 and instructing her citizens

00:26:55.160 on how they are to behave from henceforth.

00:26:58.120 Here she is.

00:26:59.300 Stay local

00:27:00.100 and do not congregate.

00:27:02.160 Don't talk to your neighbours.

00:27:04.060 Please keep to your bubbles.

00:27:06.280 It comes down again

00:27:07.640 to those very simple principles.

00:27:10.320 We know from overseas cases

00:27:12.460 of the Delta variant

00:27:13.900 that it can be spread

00:27:15.380 by people simply walking past one another.

00:27:18.180 So keep those movements outside

00:27:19.900 to the bare minimum,

00:27:21.480 wear a mask

00:27:22.280 and make sure you keep up

00:27:23.600 that physical distancing.

00:27:25.980 They're very concerned.

00:27:27.200 We heard this from the health official

00:27:29.140 in Australia last week.

00:27:30.400 Don't talk.

00:27:31.280 Don't talk to anybody.

00:27:33.560 Don't even pass by anyone on the street.

00:27:36.360 She claims that we know

00:27:37.760 that the Delta variant

00:27:38.660 can be spread by walking past

00:27:39.980 someone on the street.

00:27:41.100 Really?

00:27:41.460 We know that?

00:27:42.300 How do we know that?

00:27:43.440 Where's that data?

00:27:45.320 Show me any data at all

00:27:46.680 to support that.

00:27:47.880 Where has it been proven

00:27:49.120 that you can spread COVID

00:27:50.780 to another person

00:27:51.620 by walking past them?

00:27:53.640 So we're talking about

00:27:56.020 one or two seconds

00:27:59.600 of being within the general vicinity

00:28:02.420 of another human being?

00:28:03.400 That's enough to infect them?

00:28:04.680 Really?

00:28:07.100 Even if they're vaccinated still?

00:28:11.200 Where's the data on that?

00:28:12.380 Well, there's no data on that at all.

00:28:14.640 That is, she made that up.

00:28:16.580 She's standing in front of her people

00:28:18.440 making things up.

00:28:19.580 It doesn't matter.

00:28:21.520 Nobody's going to call her on it.

00:28:23.260 And why are they going into this?

00:28:24.920 This is a full national lockdown.

00:28:27.260 Stay in your homes.

00:28:28.620 Don't talk to anyone.

00:28:29.880 Don't even pass by someone

00:28:31.700 on the street.

00:28:32.900 And why is that?

00:28:34.160 Because of one case.

00:28:37.320 One case in the whole country.

00:28:39.860 One dude in New Zealand

00:28:41.680 has COVID.

00:28:44.760 No reason to think

00:28:45.680 it's even a severe case,

00:28:46.680 but he has it.

00:28:47.380 And now the entire country shuts down.

00:28:50.200 Do you know how many deaths

00:28:51.200 New Zealand has had

00:28:53.280 from COVID this year?

00:28:55.300 Zero.

00:28:56.580 The white supremacist symbol.

00:28:58.300 Zero.

00:29:00.000 They have had zero deaths

00:29:02.180 since I believe last spring.

00:29:06.860 And since COVID began,

00:29:08.740 they have less than 30 deaths

00:29:10.220 in a year and a half.

00:29:13.100 And now one case

00:29:14.340 and they shut down the whole country.

00:29:15.280 And as I always say with this,

00:29:18.720 the really disturbing thing

00:29:21.500 is how many people

00:29:23.440 will look at this

00:29:24.400 and say,

00:29:24.940 that makes sense to me.

00:29:28.500 It does not shock me

00:29:30.120 or surprise me

00:29:30.980 that a person

00:29:32.260 in charge of a country,

00:29:34.300 a politician,

00:29:34.900 would want to exercise

00:29:37.100 this kind of power

00:29:38.180 if she can get away with it.

00:29:39.500 The thing that is kind of shocking

00:29:40.720 and very upsetting

00:29:41.240 is that she can get away with it.

00:29:45.080 In fact,

00:29:45.660 just talking about this,

00:29:46.800 seeing some of the social media reaction,

00:29:49.220 there are a lot of people

00:29:49.760 in this country saying,

00:29:50.620 she's setting an example

00:29:52.500 for the world.

00:29:53.620 Why can't we do this?

00:29:54.640 It's obviously working,

00:29:57.420 they say.

00:29:59.320 That's what we're told

00:30:00.180 is that this is a good idea

00:30:02.260 to shut down the entire country

00:30:03.520 for one case

00:30:04.440 of a disease

00:30:05.600 that has hardly been deadly

00:30:07.660 at all in your country.

00:30:10.860 Hardly anyone has died of COVID

00:30:12.660 in New Zealand

00:30:13.500 this entire time.

00:30:16.700 But they say it's working,

00:30:18.180 so let's do it.

00:30:19.960 Well, here's the problem with that.

00:30:21.920 First of all,

00:30:22.620 there isn't a lot of reason

00:30:24.840 to think that it's working

00:30:25.780 in the first place.

00:30:26.820 This is New Zealand.

00:30:27.780 It's one of the most isolated,

00:30:29.180 populated places on Earth.

00:30:32.360 In terms of populated land masses,

00:30:34.520 it's hard to get more isolated

00:30:37.760 than New Zealand.

00:30:40.500 They're an island nation.

00:30:43.400 Their closest neighbor,

00:30:45.720 which you have to travel

00:30:46.960 across an ocean to get to,

00:30:49.780 is Australia.

00:30:51.320 And their closest neighbor

00:30:52.540 to the south

00:30:53.180 is Antarctica, okay?

00:30:56.620 Their closest neighbor

00:30:57.420 to the south

00:30:57.760 is a barren,

00:30:58.820 frozen wasteland.

00:31:01.800 So there are a lot

00:31:02.940 of advantages there already.

00:31:04.860 They don't get a ton

00:31:05.880 of tourism to begin with.

00:31:08.100 It's certainly not like us,

00:31:10.160 where we are

00:31:12.100 an international hub

00:31:13.260 of people coming and going.

00:31:14.440 We've got refugees coming in.

00:31:15.560 We've got this and that.

00:31:16.500 We've got people flooding

00:31:17.460 across the southern border.

00:31:18.420 I'd say New Zealand

00:31:21.480 doesn't have anyone

00:31:22.000 coming across the southern border

00:31:22.940 unless it's penguins

00:31:23.680 from Antarctica.

00:31:26.320 So there's no reason

00:31:27.180 to think

00:31:27.700 that any of the measures

00:31:29.540 they're putting in place

00:31:30.840 have made all that much

00:31:31.820 of a difference.

00:31:33.600 For all of those reasons,

00:31:34.800 their isolation,

00:31:35.520 they were never going

00:31:36.020 to get hit by this

00:31:36.740 very hard in the first place.

00:31:38.180 But anyway,

00:31:38.660 let's pretend for a second

00:31:39.740 that it is working.

00:31:41.880 Well, okay.

00:31:43.540 Yeah.

00:31:44.280 Big shocker.

00:31:45.160 If you shut down

00:31:48.120 your entire country

00:31:49.200 because of one case

00:31:51.380 of an illness

00:31:51.960 that's not all that deadly,

00:31:53.880 yeah, the illness

00:31:54.480 probably won't spread.

00:31:56.700 Yes, it works in that sense.

00:32:00.920 But if you also care

00:32:04.900 about things like

00:32:05.600 having a functioning society,

00:32:08.000 living an actual life,

00:32:11.500 being a functioning human being,

00:32:13.340 if that matters to you,

00:32:16.200 then no,

00:32:16.500 this doesn't work.

00:32:17.820 If the only thing

00:32:19.100 that matters

00:32:19.660 is stopping COVID

00:32:21.460 and it is literally

00:32:22.520 the only consideration

00:32:24.280 is stopping people

00:32:25.760 from getting COVID,

00:32:26.820 if the number one priority

00:32:28.520 and the only priority

00:32:31.280 is stopping COVID,

00:32:32.200 then sure,

00:32:32.760 it works.

00:32:34.820 But if you care

00:32:35.920 about literally

00:32:36.560 anything else,

00:32:37.840 then no,

00:32:39.100 this solution

00:32:39.540 does not work.

00:32:40.180 We also have to play this.

00:32:43.500 Here's a guy in Australia.

00:32:44.880 I'm not even sure

00:32:45.400 who this guy is,

00:32:46.460 but someone

00:32:47.220 in a position of leadership.

00:32:49.100 Oh,

00:32:49.840 the Victoria Premier,

00:32:51.080 Daniel Andrews

00:32:51.880 is who it is.

00:32:53.200 And here he is

00:32:54.200 explaining some more

00:32:56.040 of the COVID measures

00:32:56.960 and telling you

00:32:57.580 some more things

00:32:58.120 that you cannot do

00:32:58.880 in Australia.

00:32:59.720 Let's listen.

00:33:01.160 There will be

00:33:01.880 no removal of masks

00:33:04.600 to consume alcohol outdoors.

00:33:07.420 So you will no longer

00:33:08.140 be able to remove

00:33:08.980 your mask

00:33:09.600 to drink a cocktail

00:33:11.140 at a pop-up beer garden

00:33:13.600 on a footpath

00:33:14.740 as part of a pub crawl.

00:33:17.980 You can't,

00:33:18.880 you cannot take off

00:33:21.500 your mask

00:33:22.140 to drink outside.

00:33:24.340 But notice,

00:33:25.520 he doesn't say

00:33:26.220 you can't drink outside,

00:33:28.220 which would be

00:33:29.220 absurd enough

00:33:29.880 on its own,

00:33:31.000 obviously.

00:33:32.060 What he's saying is

00:33:33.020 there will be

00:33:33.500 no removing of masks

00:33:34.980 to drink outside.

00:33:36.020 which would

00:33:38.420 clearly seem to imply

00:33:39.720 that you could

00:33:40.840 still drink outside

00:33:41.340 but keep your mask on.

00:33:44.500 I guess

00:33:45.000 what he's saying is

00:33:46.220 the safest thing

00:33:47.400 if you gotta drink outside,

00:33:48.860 no,

00:33:49.160 we certainly are not

00:33:49.920 gonna be drinking inside,

00:33:51.740 but if you're gonna be

00:33:52.560 drinking outside,

00:33:53.140 if you wanna drink at all,

00:33:53.940 if you wanna consume

00:33:54.540 any liquids at all,

00:33:55.420 the safest thing

00:33:56.260 is to waterboard yourself

00:33:57.640 with your beer

00:33:58.680 and your mask.

00:34:00.300 Throw your head back 0.88

00:34:01.340 and dump the beer 0.92

00:34:02.280 onto your mask

00:34:03.100 and hope you don't

00:34:04.780 suffocate in the process.

00:34:06.020 Many a Taliban 1.00

00:34:10.140 have been through

00:34:10.720 that process themselves

00:34:11.720 and many of them survived

00:34:14.000 and now they're running

00:34:15.920 Afghanistan.

00:34:16.880 So who knows,

00:34:17.300 maybe you will too one day.

00:34:18.860 Okay,

00:34:19.200 I also wanna hit this

00:34:20.240 from the Daily Wire.

00:34:21.080 It says,

00:34:21.480 Naomi Osaka's return

00:34:23.020 to taking questions

00:34:23.940 in a press conference setting

00:34:24.860 did not go well.

00:34:26.000 She was the tennis star

00:34:27.420 who dropped out

00:34:30.780 of the French Open,

00:34:32.060 you may recall,

00:34:32.720 a few months ago

00:34:33.360 because she didn't wanna

00:34:35.500 take any questions

00:34:36.200 from the press

00:34:36.820 because it hurts

00:34:38.940 her mental health

00:34:39.640 and she doesn't like

00:34:40.240 having to answer questions.

00:34:41.660 She doesn't like

00:34:42.220 experiencing,

00:34:43.400 you know,

00:34:43.520 talking to anyone

00:34:44.000 who doubts her

00:34:44.980 or questions her

00:34:45.760 in any way.

00:34:46.660 It's very traumatizing

00:34:47.860 to her

00:34:48.240 and she finally returned

00:34:52.340 to answering some questions.

00:34:54.120 I'm gonna skip ahead here

00:34:55.220 because there was

00:34:56.380 an interaction

00:34:57.040 between her 0.65

00:34:58.400 and a reporter

00:34:59.000 and after that interaction,

00:35:01.320 Osaka starts crying

00:35:02.460 and eventually leaves

00:35:04.240 the press conference

00:35:05.000 and then this

00:35:06.580 from the Daily Wire,

00:35:07.480 they say,

00:35:07.820 after the press conference,

00:35:08.740 Osaka's agent,

00:35:09.740 Stuart Duogid,

00:35:10.560 lashed out

00:35:12.260 at the Cincinnati

00:35:13.080 Inquirer reporter

00:35:13.920 calling his behavior

00:35:14.860 appalling.

00:35:16.680 Ben Rothenberg said,

00:35:17.880 quote,

00:35:19.820 or rather,

00:35:20.500 Duogud said to

00:35:21.400 a reporter named

00:35:22.420 Ben Rothenberg,

00:35:24.700 the bully at the Cincinnati

00:35:25.720 Inquirer is the epitome

00:35:27.160 of why player media relations

00:35:28.740 are so fraught right now.

00:35:30.600 Everyone on that Zoom

00:35:31.460 will agree that his tone

00:35:32.580 was all wrong

00:35:33.300 and his sole purpose

00:35:34.060 was to intimidate

00:35:35.060 really appalling behavior.

00:35:37.760 Okay, so

00:35:38.220 that's the context.

00:35:40.280 It was bullying,

00:35:41.280 it was intimidating,

00:35:42.080 it was horrible.

00:35:43.400 Now let's play the video

00:35:45.120 of that interaction

00:35:46.160 with this bullying,

00:35:47.380 intimidating reporter

00:35:48.260 and you tell me

00:35:49.480 if this seems intimidating

00:35:50.980 to you.

00:35:51.400 Let's listen.

00:35:52.860 You're not crazy

00:35:54.020 about dealing

00:35:54.840 with us,

00:35:56.720 especially in this format,

00:35:58.720 yet you have

00:35:59.760 a lot of outside interests

00:36:01.200 that are served

00:36:02.180 by having a media platform.

00:36:04.080 I guess my question is,

00:36:05.680 how do you balance

00:36:06.640 the two

00:36:07.200 and also,

00:36:08.200 do you have anything

00:36:08.900 you'd like to share

00:36:09.700 with us

00:36:10.200 about what you did

00:36:11.400 say to Simone Biles? 0.85

00:36:14.020 When you say

00:36:15.020 I'm not crazy

00:36:16.020 about dealing

00:36:16.720 with you guys,

00:36:17.760 what does that

00:36:18.300 refer to?

00:36:20.600 Well, you've said

00:36:21.320 you don't especially

00:36:22.620 like the press conference

00:36:24.100 format.

00:36:26.000 Yet that seems

00:36:27.180 to be the,

00:36:27.940 obviously,

00:36:28.940 the most widely

00:36:29.680 used means

00:36:30.420 of communicating

00:36:31.280 to the media

00:36:32.500 and through the media

00:36:33.400 to the public.

00:36:34.120 that's interesting.

00:36:37.480 I would say

00:36:40.400 the occasion,

00:36:41.780 like when

00:36:42.680 to do the press conference

00:36:44.220 is what I feel

00:36:45.400 is the most difficult.

00:36:46.360 hopefully it's okay

00:36:57.280 if I ask

00:36:57.960 a couple

00:36:58.320 of tennis questions.

00:36:59.560 The first one

00:37:00.560 is just

00:37:01.580 how the training

00:37:03.320 has been

00:37:03.980 and how your

00:37:04.600 preparation

00:37:05.040 has been

00:37:05.620 for the summer

00:37:06.500 hardcourt swing.

00:37:08.400 Okay,

00:37:08.880 so you see

00:37:09.260 at the end there,

00:37:10.100 if you're,

00:37:10.700 especially if you're

00:37:11.100 only listening to this

00:37:12.040 so you don't have

00:37:12.560 the visual cues,

00:37:14.040 this has to be

00:37:14.480 very confusing.

00:37:15.800 I'm sure you're

00:37:16.200 listening to that

00:37:16.720 and waiting.

00:37:17.360 It's like,

00:37:17.540 when,

00:37:17.760 what are you talking,

00:37:18.300 what,

00:37:19.200 when,

00:37:19.660 when,

00:37:19.980 when does the

00:37:20.640 bullying reporter

00:37:21.580 show up?

00:37:22.480 Well,

00:37:22.620 that was it.

00:37:23.040 Well,

00:37:23.140 you just heard there.

00:37:24.080 The guy asking

00:37:25.020 the question

00:37:25.580 is,

00:37:27.460 was bullying

00:37:27.880 and then at the end,

00:37:29.960 Osaka's kind of

00:37:31.020 stumped by the question,

00:37:32.480 can barely even speak

00:37:33.620 and then she starts crying,

00:37:35.280 wiping away tears

00:37:36.000 and she covers her face

00:37:37.080 with her,

00:37:38.080 with the brim

00:37:38.860 of her,

00:37:39.160 of her ball cap

00:37:39.860 and eventually

00:37:41.120 ends up leaving

00:37:41.660 the press conference

00:37:42.220 and she's so distraught

00:37:43.180 and then sends her agent out, 0.82

00:37:46.760 six her agent on this guy,

00:37:48.200 calling him a bully.

00:37:49.840 All he did was

00:37:50.980 ask a question.

00:37:52.640 That's all.

00:37:53.040 There was,

00:37:53.340 there was nothing

00:37:54.280 remotely contentious

00:37:56.020 about it

00:37:56.480 or hostile.

00:37:58.180 Even if there was, 1.00

00:38:00.060 you're a grown ass woman. 1.00

00:38:01.600 Deal with it. 1.00

00:38:03.920 Okay,

00:38:04.420 you're a professional athlete.

00:38:06.600 Even if someone comes at you

00:38:08.020 with a little bit of hostility,

00:38:09.420 you should be able

00:38:10.340 to handle that.

00:38:10.940 But there's no hostility.

00:38:12.820 It was a very fair,

00:38:14.080 very basic question.

00:38:17.020 And she could barely speak

00:38:18.800 in response to it

00:38:19.840 and then starts crying.

00:38:23.500 This is,

00:38:25.320 and yet again,

00:38:27.360 the reaction has

00:38:28.400 mostly been

00:38:29.760 to her defense.

00:38:31.460 And the irony here

00:38:35.040 is that people say,

00:38:36.400 well,

00:38:36.720 this is all about

00:38:37.240 mental health

00:38:37.820 and everything.

00:38:40.440 No,

00:38:40.900 the message

00:38:41.440 to Osaka should be, 0.99

00:38:42.720 this is mental illness. 0.99

00:38:43.960 Like, 1.00

00:38:44.120 you have serious problems.

00:38:46.020 And I don't say that

00:38:47.020 to insult you.

00:38:49.540 But if you as a grown person,

00:38:52.900 as a grown adult,

00:38:54.400 cannot handle

00:38:55.740 the most basic

00:38:58.700 kind of question,

00:39:00.200 you are reduced

00:39:01.500 to tears

00:39:02.380 at being questioned

00:39:05.600 at all,

00:39:06.620 at being forced

00:39:08.280 to justify

00:39:09.020 your behavior

00:39:09.860 to any extent at all.

00:39:11.120 If that reduces you

00:39:12.160 to tears

00:39:12.540 as an adult,

00:39:14.040 then you've got

00:39:14.680 serious issues.

00:39:16.100 If my own kids,

00:39:19.260 you know,

00:39:19.460 if one of my

00:39:19.960 eight-year-olds

00:39:20.580 couldn't handle

00:39:22.380 any line of questioning

00:39:23.460 at all

00:39:24.020 without,

00:39:26.580 without,

00:39:26.940 you know,

00:39:28.780 collapsing into tears,

00:39:29.800 I would think

00:39:30.420 that they've got

00:39:30.920 some serious problems.

00:39:32.580 And they're only eight.

00:39:34.640 You'd say,

00:39:35.260 well,

00:39:35.400 a little bit of this

00:39:36.200 is the fact

00:39:36.580 that they're eight years old,

00:39:37.300 but they should have,

00:39:39.060 still have more maturity

00:39:40.180 at this age than that.

00:39:42.980 You're an adult?

00:39:44.820 You've got serious 1.00

00:39:46.020 mental problems. 1.00

00:39:47.140 Serious.

00:39:49.240 That should be the message.

00:39:50.500 Is anyone really concerned

00:39:51.320 about Naomi Osaka

00:39:52.520 and her mental health?

00:39:53.860 The message should be,

00:39:54.960 listen, lady,

00:39:55.600 you've got serious 1.00

00:39:56.600 mental problems here 1.00

00:39:57.820 and you need to get

00:39:59.640 into some kind of

00:40:00.840 counseling

00:40:01.440 because this is unreasonable.

00:40:05.800 Your response here

00:40:06.640 is totally unreasonable 0.55

00:40:08.200 and frankly insane.

00:40:10.900 instead they affirm it

00:40:14.660 and justify it

00:40:15.640 and say this is a

00:40:17.560 completely reasonable way

00:40:18.420 to respond as an adult.

00:40:21.000 Which only means,

00:40:22.360 and this is the common theme,

00:40:23.860 that she will not get help

00:40:26.300 for her mental health problems

00:40:28.020 because she is being affirmed 0.99

00:40:30.200 in her insane behavior.

00:40:35.120 Where else have we seen that

00:40:36.440 in the culture?

00:40:37.980 All right,

00:40:38.160 moving on now

00:40:38.640 to reading the comments.

00:40:39.380 This is from Rogue Leader,

00:40:40.840 says,

00:40:41.180 how can the Taliban 0.86

00:40:41.860 include women 0.98

00:40:42.740 when the State Department

00:40:43.580 can't even define women? 1.00

00:40:45.780 Yet another contradiction.

00:40:47.340 You're exactly right.

00:40:48.880 And yet another reason

00:40:50.080 why our State Department

00:40:51.420 and our government

00:40:52.060 is not equipped,

00:40:53.720 you know,

00:40:55.120 to be spreading

00:40:57.280 this kind of message abroad.

00:40:59.840 Another comment says,

00:41:01.340 wait,

00:41:01.680 there's going to be

00:41:02.080 a panel of judges

00:41:03.060 for the SBG song.

00:41:04.620 Shouldn't there be

00:41:05.180 only be one judge,

00:41:06.560 our well-loved SBG

00:41:08.360 Daddy Walsh?

00:41:10.320 Well,

00:41:10.520 to be clear,

00:41:11.540 yeah,

00:41:11.740 there is going to be

00:41:12.300 a panel of judges

00:41:13.300 and American Idol style

00:41:14.700 judging will go on

00:41:15.900 of the Sweet Baby Gang anthem.

00:41:17.520 The only reason

00:41:18.500 the other judges

00:41:19.200 will be there

00:41:19.880 is just

00:41:20.700 because it'll make them

00:41:22.640 very uncomfortable

00:41:23.360 and that will be funny.

00:41:26.400 The fact that anyone else

00:41:27.680 here at the Daily Wire

00:41:28.320 is going to be roped

00:41:29.020 into this 0.98

00:41:29.640 completely ridiculous thing 0.94

00:41:31.400 that makes no sense at all, 0.96

00:41:32.340 that's why they're there.

00:41:36.240 Josh says,

00:41:37.380 all I got from this episode

00:41:38.420 was Matt misgendered Lizzo

00:41:40.040 and just glossed over it.

00:41:41.400 I'm so morally outraged

00:41:42.480 and I apologize for that,

00:41:43.600 Josh,

00:41:43.800 and you're exactly right.

00:41:44.600 Very rare that I apologize,

00:41:45.700 but you're right.

00:41:46.560 I did assume her gender 1.00

00:41:48.060 and you held me

00:41:50.340 to account for that

00:41:51.120 and you did the right thing.

00:41:52.760 But you're still banned

00:41:53.580 from the show.

00:41:54.360 Zach says,

00:41:54.980 we know Matt

00:41:55.500 isn't a white supremacist

00:41:56.460 because he hates 0.82

00:41:57.100 all races and people equally.

00:41:58.680 Well,

00:41:58.880 thank you,

00:41:59.360 Zach.

00:42:00.080 That's my point.

00:42:02.340 Another comment says,

00:42:03.840 Matt Walsh and Ben Shapiro

00:42:04.700 have opposing views

00:42:05.680 on Afghanistan.

00:42:06.520 Michael Knowles too.

00:42:07.300 That's one of the nice things

00:42:08.180 about the Daily Wire.

00:42:09.180 They can respectfully disagree.

00:42:10.560 You'll never see opposing views

00:42:12.300 on mainstream media outlets.

00:42:13.660 CNN will have three people on

00:42:15.180 who are all in agreement.

00:42:17.980 Yeah,

00:42:18.180 that's why it's funny to me

00:42:19.440 when I hear the accusation

00:42:20.980 from people.

00:42:23.100 Anytime I express my views

00:42:24.560 on anything,

00:42:25.660 there's always going to be

00:42:26.540 someone saying,

00:42:27.600 someone in the peanut gallery

00:42:28.400 saying,

00:42:28.740 oh,

00:42:28.860 you're,

00:42:29.320 what,

00:42:29.520 did Ben Shapiro pay you

00:42:30.560 to say that?

00:42:31.120 Ben Shapiro told you

00:42:33.080 to say that,

00:42:33.580 didn't he?

00:42:34.460 And in a way,

00:42:35.180 yeah,

00:42:35.300 he does pay me

00:42:35.960 to say the things I say

00:42:36.780 because he's,

00:42:37.700 you know,

00:42:38.940 he's signing the checks,

00:42:40.060 but we actually disagree

00:42:43.820 and we'll disagree publicly

00:42:46.160 on issues like this.

00:42:49.860 And you're not going to find that

00:42:51.060 in very many other outlets.

00:42:54.720 And that's because,

00:42:55.640 you know what?

00:42:56.660 It shouldn't be shocking at all.

00:42:58.380 Oh my gosh,

00:42:58.940 Matt Walsh,

00:42:59.460 Ben Shapiro disagree.

00:43:01.220 Yeah,

00:43:01.640 we're both human beings

00:43:02.960 with our own brains

00:43:03.800 and we form our own opinions

00:43:04.800 on things.

00:43:06.520 That shouldn't be surprising.

00:43:08.220 That should be the norm.

00:43:10.440 In any organization,

00:43:11.740 any media outlet

00:43:12.580 where you have people

00:43:14.780 employed there

00:43:15.520 and their job

00:43:16.140 is to give their opinions,

00:43:17.680 there should be a,

00:43:18.240 there should be a wide range

00:43:19.260 of opinions.

00:43:19.700 There should be a lot

00:43:20.200 of disagreement

00:43:20.660 because these are not

00:43:23.480 Siamese twins

00:43:24.500 joined at the brain.

00:43:25.440 And it's,

00:43:28.880 it's not a problem.

00:43:31.120 You disagree with someone.

00:43:32.600 It's not offensive.

00:43:33.680 It doesn't hurt my feelings.

00:43:36.800 If Ben Shapiro disagrees with me,

00:43:38.520 it doesn't hurt my feelings.

00:43:39.460 I think I could speak for him

00:43:40.820 and say it doesn't hurt his opinions

00:43:43.000 or hurt his feelings

00:43:44.400 if I disagree with him.

00:43:46.380 It's,

00:43:46.780 it's okay.

00:43:47.300 It's fine.

00:43:48.880 In fact,

00:43:49.400 it's good.

00:43:49.780 It's interesting.

00:43:52.500 Okay.

00:43:52.960 This is from Eric says,

00:43:54.060 Matt,

00:43:54.260 I loved your school board speech

00:43:55.660 and wish that I could do

00:43:56.540 something similar

00:43:57.200 on my local school board.

00:43:58.320 The problem is that

00:43:58.920 I'm terrified of public speaking

00:44:00.160 and really bad at it.

00:44:01.260 Do you have any tips?

00:44:02.360 How did you become so polished

00:44:03.600 as a public speaker?

00:44:06.340 Well,

00:44:06.900 okay.

00:44:08.720 A couple of tips.

00:44:09.540 None of this is going

00:44:10.260 to blow your mind,

00:44:10.980 but first of all,

00:44:12.600 as far as nerves go

00:44:13.760 when you're getting up there

00:44:14.420 to speak,

00:44:14.760 I hear this from people a lot

00:44:15.680 that, you know,

00:44:16.400 they want to be able to

00:44:17.320 give a speech

00:44:18.620 or speak in front of public,

00:44:19.420 but they get so nervous.

00:44:21.680 I think it may,

00:44:22.520 it might help you

00:44:23.440 to realize that

00:44:24.800 before you get up

00:44:25.900 in front of any audience

00:44:26.740 to deliver a speech,

00:44:28.520 to realize that

00:44:30.020 almost everyone on earth

00:44:31.920 is terrible

00:44:33.020 at public speaking.

00:44:34.720 Almost everyone.

00:44:36.260 So there's no reason

00:44:37.060 to be too afraid.

00:44:38.680 You know,

00:44:38.820 most of the people

00:44:39.580 in the audience

00:44:40.160 are bad at it too.

00:44:41.860 And the ones

00:44:42.360 who are good at it

00:44:43.000 won't judge you

00:44:43.640 for being bad at it

00:44:44.320 because they know

00:44:44.800 that most people

00:44:45.300 are bad at it.

00:44:46.400 I mean,

00:44:46.560 just think about

00:44:47.180 all of the speeches

00:44:48.380 you've heard in your life.

00:44:49.800 All of the public

00:44:50.520 addresses you've heard,

00:44:51.380 whether a president

00:44:52.460 on TV

00:44:53.040 or a politician

00:44:53.760 or, you know,

00:44:55.160 a sermon at church,

00:44:57.480 you know,

00:44:57.740 at a fundraising banquet,

00:44:58.840 at school,

00:44:59.700 I mean,

00:44:59.840 anywhere.

00:45:00.340 All the different times

00:45:01.000 you've heard someone

00:45:01.700 addressing a public audience.

00:45:04.860 How many

00:45:05.780 of the,

00:45:06.520 of those speeches

00:45:08.660 and addresses

00:45:09.380 were remotely

00:45:11.680 interesting or compelling?

00:45:13.640 Very, very few.

00:45:14.540 You could probably

00:45:14.760 count on one hand

00:45:15.780 the number

00:45:16.140 that were good.

00:45:16.760 The rest of them

00:45:17.520 were, you know,

00:45:18.080 kind of bad.

00:45:18.880 So it's a normal thing,

00:45:19.960 nothing to be worried about.

00:45:21.120 The bar is really low

00:45:22.380 and, you know,

00:45:24.140 and I think

00:45:25.360 there's some comfort

00:45:25.940 to be found in that.

00:45:27.080 And then as far

00:45:28.260 as giving a good speech,

00:45:29.320 the only two,

00:45:29.900 two things I would say

00:45:30.980 is, first of all,

00:45:33.120 you want to write it,

00:45:35.340 write the speech

00:45:36.240 like you would say it.

00:45:40.060 That's my method anyway.

00:45:41.720 I don't know

00:45:41.980 if this is what

00:45:42.280 they would tell you

00:45:42.760 in public speaking school,

00:45:44.460 but that's what

00:45:45.360 I think you should do

00:45:46.220 is certainly

00:45:47.100 you don't want

00:45:47.440 to write it

00:45:47.880 like a book report.

00:45:48.880 And that's what

00:45:49.200 a lot of people do.

00:45:50.800 They write speeches

00:45:51.740 like they're giving

00:45:52.340 a book report

00:45:53.120 in fourth grade

00:45:53.960 and they get up there

00:45:55.080 and they say,

00:45:55.520 today I'm going

00:45:56.100 to give a speech

00:45:56.760 about yada yada.

00:45:58.020 The dictionary

00:45:58.720 defines yada yada

00:45:59.840 as,

00:46:02.120 no,

00:46:02.320 imagine yourself,

00:46:03.820 you're passionate

00:46:04.440 about this issue

00:46:05.360 and you're just,

00:46:06.520 you're having a conversation

00:46:07.480 with somebody

00:46:07.980 one-on-one.

00:46:09.220 What are the kinds

00:46:09.960 of things you would say?

00:46:10.800 How would you address it?

00:46:11.560 What sort of tones

00:46:12.260 would you use?

00:46:13.360 And try to emulate that

00:46:14.560 and you kind of,

00:46:14.920 that's why when I write

00:46:15.520 a speech,

00:46:16.140 I write it very quickly

00:46:17.120 and then I go back

00:46:18.880 and I kind of

00:46:19.620 juice it up a little bit

00:46:20.940 and add in some

00:46:22.040 more descriptive language

00:46:23.040 and that kind of thing.

00:46:23.840 But my first pass,

00:46:25.560 the basic framing

00:46:26.520 of the speech

00:46:27.080 will be very quick

00:46:27.700 because I want it

00:46:28.340 to be sort of

00:46:28.680 stream of consciousness.

00:46:29.880 This is how I would sound

00:46:31.040 if I was saying it

00:46:32.460 without a script.

00:46:33.540 Then you go back around

00:46:34.520 and then the second thing

00:46:36.420 is of course to practice.

00:46:39.240 And the point of practicing

00:46:40.160 is not memorizing

00:46:41.000 the speech,

00:46:41.660 by the way.

00:46:42.820 I think memorizing

00:46:43.620 a speech is a waste of time

00:46:44.620 and memorized speeches

00:46:45.640 often end up sounding

00:46:47.040 more like you're reading them

00:46:48.240 than if you just read them.

00:46:50.140 So I never memorize a speech.

00:46:51.800 It's just a matter

00:46:52.280 of getting used to

00:46:52.980 using the words

00:46:53.780 and all of that.

00:46:55.220 You just heard us talking

00:46:56.200 about the Sweet Baby Gang anthem.

00:46:57.720 If you don't know

00:46:58.260 what the Sweet Baby Gang is,

00:46:59.560 then you're outside of the gang

00:47:00.640 and we're not going

00:47:01.200 to explain it to you.

00:47:02.420 But if you don't know

00:47:02.940 about the Anthem Challenge,

00:47:04.100 I will tell you

00:47:04.640 a little bit about that.

00:47:05.340 The Sweet Baby Gang

00:47:05.840 is in need

00:47:06.420 of a Sweet Baby anthem

00:47:07.680 and the Daily Wire

00:47:08.700 is opening up

00:47:09.600 for submissions.

00:47:10.620 So I'm looking

00:47:10.960 for an original song

00:47:12.000 that embodies

00:47:13.200 exactly what

00:47:14.280 the Sweet Baby Gang is,

00:47:16.040 whatever that is exactly.

00:47:17.700 All submissions

00:47:18.140 should be in the form

00:47:18.840 of a YouTube video.

00:47:19.720 All you need is the link

00:47:20.600 and you want to submit it

00:47:22.560 to dailywire.com

00:47:23.560 slash SBG.

00:47:25.720 These videos

00:47:26.800 are going to be,

00:47:27.740 these songs

00:47:28.120 are going to be judged

00:47:28.860 in an American Idol

00:47:29.880 style sort of competition

00:47:31.240 with me and some

00:47:32.600 of the other Daily Wire hosts

00:47:33.560 who are going to be

00:47:34.100 subjected to this

00:47:34.900 and that is going

00:47:35.760 to be so great.

00:47:36.200 I'm excited for that.

00:47:37.220 Submissions end

00:47:37.880 on August 25th.

00:47:39.600 So you only had

00:47:40.620 a few days

00:47:41.540 to take advantage

00:47:42.220 of this

00:47:42.660 and get your submissions

00:47:43.740 in.

00:47:44.380 Okay, you will go down

00:47:45.360 in history

00:47:46.060 much like Francis Scott Key.

00:47:49.720 You will go down

00:47:50.520 in history

00:47:50.960 for the Sweet Baby Gang

00:47:52.300 anthem and this is an anthem

00:47:53.180 that I'll tell you

00:47:53.600 one thing for short,

00:47:54.340 nobody is going to kneel

00:47:55.240 while it is playing.

00:47:56.380 I will make sure of that.

00:47:57.360 So go to dailywire.com

00:47:58.600 slash SBG right now.

00:48:54.020 Now let's get to

00:48:54.520 our daily cancellation.

00:48:55.180 You've probably noticed

00:49:00.360 that there is not much

00:49:02.060 going on in the world

00:49:02.800 these days.

00:49:03.480 Certainly no major crises

00:49:04.700 either at home or abroad

00:49:06.260 which ought to attract

00:49:07.540 our attention.

00:49:08.080 The earth is a serene

00:49:09.120 utopian garden of Eden.

00:49:11.400 No significant problems

00:49:12.500 to be solved at all.

00:49:13.880 And this explains why

00:49:14.940 thousands and thousands

00:49:15.800 of people had both

00:49:16.620 the time and energy

00:49:17.340 to become deeply outraged

00:49:18.780 yesterday over

00:49:19.620 Carrie Underwood

00:49:20.640 liking a tweet.

00:49:22.940 The country superstar

00:49:23.840 was trending on Twitter

00:49:25.040 and still might be

00:49:26.480 actually and the mob

00:49:27.980 was all riled up

00:49:28.880 because she had apparently

00:49:29.920 at some point

00:49:30.700 in the last few days

00:49:31.420 made the unconscionable

00:49:33.220 decision to hit

00:49:34.140 the little heart button

00:49:35.140 in reaction to a tweet

00:49:36.760 from a conservative

00:49:37.600 commentator who was

00:49:38.600 criticizing mask mandates

00:49:39.820 for children.

00:49:40.940 And worst of all perhaps

00:49:41.980 is that the conservative

00:49:43.620 commentator was yours truly.

00:49:46.420 It was my speech

00:49:47.700 to the school board

00:49:48.860 that Underwood was

00:49:50.280 expressing her approval of

00:49:51.540 and I feel quite guilty

00:49:53.120 as though I'm responsible

00:49:54.740 for all of this controversy.

00:49:56.200 Or at least I would feel guilty 0.97

00:49:57.420 if it wasn't so damned 0.74

00:49:58.560 hilarious.

00:49:59.580 So perusing some of

00:50:00.560 the outraged comments

00:50:01.720 you find lots of people

00:50:02.900 claiming to have been

00:50:04.940 betrayed by the Twitter-like.

00:50:07.180 I can't imagine

00:50:08.140 what it must be like

00:50:08.980 to feel betrayed

00:50:09.680 by a pop star

00:50:10.500 liking something on Twitter

00:50:12.260 and that's mostly

00:50:13.280 because I'm not mentally ill

00:50:14.380 so I don't know

00:50:14.860 what that would feel like.

00:50:16.240 Many others accused

00:50:17.460 Underwood of being

00:50:18.440 a MAGA extremist

00:50:20.020 and an anti-vaxxer

00:50:21.220 even though my video

00:50:22.100 made no mention

00:50:22.840 of vaccines

00:50:23.400 much less Donald Trump

00:50:24.340 and I saw at least

00:50:26.040 one comment

00:50:26.600 from somebody

00:50:27.100 implying

00:50:27.660 that they might 0.99

00:50:28.920 kill themselves 0.99

00:50:29.880 because Carrie Underwood 1.00

00:50:31.320 liked my video.

00:50:33.200 Totally normal

00:50:34.060 and rational response.

00:50:35.900 Another person

00:50:36.440 tweeted this

00:50:37.480 they said

00:50:37.880 quote

00:50:38.140 absolutely gutted

00:50:39.900 by the Carrie Underwood news.

00:50:41.780 I used to wear a bracket

00:50:42.680 that said

00:50:43.140 what would Carrie Underwood do 1.00

00:50:44.440 to remind me

00:50:45.360 to always do the right thing.

00:50:47.080 I can't believe

00:50:47.780 such a kind

00:50:48.460 caring person

00:50:49.200 would be against

00:50:50.120 wearing a mask

00:50:50.900 to save lives.

00:50:52.060 My heart is broken.

00:50:54.740 Yes it's quite tragic.

00:50:56.060 His heart is broken.

00:50:57.580 His brain was obviously

00:50:58.860 broken years ago. 0.76

00:51:00.320 He's running out

00:51:01.100 of internal organs.

00:51:02.040 This is a problem.

00:51:04.500 And many comments

00:51:05.440 were just like this.

00:51:06.300 People utterly

00:51:07.140 devastated to discover

00:51:08.460 that their favorite singer

00:51:09.500 has at least

00:51:10.400 one viewpoint

00:51:11.280 that differs

00:51:11.900 from their own.

00:51:13.280 This is a reality

00:51:14.080 that many people today

00:51:14.940 especially those on the left

00:51:16.000 cannot handle.

00:51:17.420 And needless to say

00:51:19.520 however

00:51:19.760 not one outraged person

00:51:21.420 attempted to explain

00:51:22.320 why the bad speech

00:51:23.760 from the scary conservative

00:51:24.760 was wrong.

00:51:26.020 None of them bothered

00:51:26.560 to defend their assumption

00:51:27.760 that my anti-mask views

00:51:29.280 and now presumably

00:51:29.980 Carrie Underwood's

00:51:30.980 are incorrect.

00:51:32.660 There's no need

00:51:33.280 to defend it.

00:51:34.060 All they have

00:51:34.700 is their emotions

00:51:35.220 and that's all they need.

00:51:37.100 Next

00:51:37.500 the media

00:51:38.040 got on to the case.

00:51:39.420 Articles were published

00:51:40.260 in rapid succession

00:51:41.220 like this from Yahoo

00:51:42.740 headline

00:51:43.220 Carrie Underwood blasted 0.98

00:51:45.360 for liking anti-mask tweets.

00:51:47.420 And the Toronto Sun

00:51:48.480 Carrie Underwood slammed 1.00

00:51:49.760 by fans

00:51:50.380 for liking anti-mask post.

00:51:52.660 And Radar Online

00:51:53.520 Carrie Underwood

00:51:54.300 facing backlash

00:51:55.180 after liking tweets

00:51:56.260 supporting right-wing

00:51:57.040 commentators anti-mask speech

00:51:58.540 calling school mandate

00:51:59.720 child abuse.

00:52:01.200 And the Daily Mail

00:52:01.840 Carrie Underwood

00:52:03.000 faces backlash

00:52:03.880 from fans

00:52:04.560 after liking anti-mask tweet

00:52:06.060 made by a conservative

00:52:07.240 commentator.

00:52:08.720 Perez Hilton

00:52:09.240 posted to Instagram

00:52:10.120 explaining that

00:52:11.380 the main controversy

00:52:12.280 in his opinion

00:52:12.900 is not Underwood

00:52:14.400 liking the tweet

00:52:15.080 but rather

00:52:15.540 who made

00:52:16.380 the original tweet.

00:52:17.720 He then prompted

00:52:18.700 his followers

00:52:19.240 to swipe up

00:52:20.480 for the details

00:52:21.180 about me.

00:52:22.860 Now originally

00:52:23.280 I didn't swipe up

00:52:24.080 for the details

00:52:24.580 because I figured

00:52:25.200 I already know

00:52:25.780 everything I need to know

00:52:26.580 about myself

00:52:27.200 but later it occurred

00:52:28.280 to me that Perez Hilton

00:52:29.260 wise sage that he is

00:52:31.200 may have crucial context

00:52:32.560 about me

00:52:33.280 that I myself

00:52:34.600 am not aware of

00:52:35.300 so I went back

00:52:36.020 and I swiped

00:52:36.660 and here's what I found.

00:52:39.780 Quote

00:52:40.300 the video

00:52:41.280 saw Walsh

00:52:42.160 making a slew

00:52:42.940 of blatantly

00:52:43.520 false statements

00:52:44.400 at a Nashville

00:52:45.040 school board meeting

00:52:45.880 claiming that

00:52:46.800 masking students

00:52:47.640 was child abuse

00:52:48.500 pushed by adults

00:52:49.820 experiencing

00:52:50.380 Munchausen syndrome

00:52:51.400 by proxy

00:52:52.060 and that COVID-19

00:52:53.400 poses almost no threat

00:52:54.720 to our kids at all

00:52:55.460 which is just plain bull.

00:52:57.440 The Delta variant 0.88

00:52:58.100 has actually led

00:52:58.720 to a spike

00:52:59.320 in child hospitalizations.

00:53:01.360 Carrie has not

00:53:01.920 denounced Walsh

00:53:02.660 or even commented

00:53:03.440 on the uproar

00:53:04.100 that her like 0.99

00:53:04.880 has caused

00:53:05.480 while she's

00:53:06.340 previously voiced

00:53:07.100 support for progressive

00:53:07.900 issues like gay marriage

00:53:08.880 in the past.

00:53:09.840 The songstress

00:53:10.460 said that she likes

00:53:11.520 to stay far away

00:53:12.480 out of politics

00:53:13.220 at least in the public

00:53:14.000 because nobody wins.

00:53:16.160 Well that's all

00:53:16.880 very disappointing

00:53:17.460 and I was hoping

00:53:18.400 for some real dirt

00:53:19.160 on myself.

00:53:20.680 Instead once again

00:53:21.420 we have someone

00:53:22.080 claiming that

00:53:22.740 my claims are wrong

00:53:23.780 while providing

00:53:24.380 no evidence at all

00:53:25.400 to actually debunk

00:53:26.220 my claims.

00:53:27.460 The bit about

00:53:28.220 a spike in child

00:53:29.400 hospitalizations

00:53:30.160 links to an article

00:53:31.500 in the New York Times

00:53:32.360 and that article says

00:53:34.660 right at the top

00:53:35.580 because this is

00:53:36.940 something that I do

00:53:37.940 kind of a radical thing

00:53:38.840 where when someone

00:53:40.280 links to something

00:53:41.300 claiming that

00:53:42.240 the link

00:53:43.020 provides evidence

00:53:44.160 for whatever

00:53:44.860 statement they're making

00:53:46.540 I will actually

00:53:47.820 click on the link

00:53:48.900 and read it

00:53:50.580 and I did that here

00:53:52.300 and what I found

00:53:53.200 is a New York Times

00:53:53.920 article that says

00:53:54.780 in italics

00:53:55.640 right at the top

00:53:56.740 in the subheading

00:53:57.560 I quote

00:53:58.120 it is not yet clear

00:53:59.920 whether the Delta variant

00:54:00.960 causes more severe

00:54:01.900 disease in children.

00:54:03.980 Translation

00:54:04.460 all of the data

00:54:05.860 shows that COVID

00:54:06.700 is not a serious

00:54:07.460 threat to children

00:54:08.020 and there is

00:54:08.920 no data right now

00:54:10.400 at all

00:54:11.240 to suggest otherwise

00:54:12.080 but maybe there will

00:54:13.660 be one day

00:54:14.280 in the future

00:54:15.400 the media hopes

00:54:16.500 but back to the

00:54:18.500 Twitter like

00:54:18.960 which again

00:54:19.500 is the most

00:54:19.840 important issue

00:54:20.320 and also the

00:54:21.540 most important

00:54:21.940 issue on earth

00:54:22.640 as we know

00:54:24.280 the final step

00:54:25.520 in any controversy

00:54:26.480 of this type

00:54:27.120 is the fact check

00:54:28.100 and dutifully

00:54:29.420 the media fact checkers

00:54:30.640 leapt into action

00:54:31.680 Newsweek published

00:54:32.980 this that says

00:54:33.560 fact check

00:54:34.240 did Carrie Underwood's

00:54:35.420 Twitter account

00:54:35.980 like an anti-mask

00:54:37.580 mandate video

00:54:38.300 now this is something

00:54:40.500 that you'd think

00:54:40.960 you could check

00:54:41.380 in four seconds

00:54:42.060 by going to her

00:54:42.880 account and looking

00:54:43.640 but Jacob Jarvis

00:54:45.380 at Newsweek

00:54:45.960 somehow managed

00:54:46.640 to wring an entire

00:54:47.560 lengthy article

00:54:48.360 out of this subject

00:54:49.040 presumably describing

00:54:50.480 his entire

00:54:51.100 investigative process

00:54:52.300 it was a bold

00:54:54.180 and daring journey

00:54:55.000 no doubt

00:54:55.420 he was like

00:54:55.880 Indiana Jones

00:54:56.660 hacking through

00:54:57.540 the jungle

00:54:58.000 battling Nazis

00:54:59.040 navigating through

00:55:00.500 ancient temples

00:55:01.340 running from boulders

00:55:02.880 all to find out

00:55:03.780 whether Carrie

00:55:04.400 Underwood liked

00:55:05.260 my tweet

00:55:05.680 and it turns out

00:55:06.500 yes she did

00:55:07.160 the legends

00:55:08.180 of old are true 0.89

00:55:09.000 as for the identity

00:55:10.900 of the dastardly

00:55:11.860 villain who posted

00:55:12.520 the original tweet

00:55:13.180 Jarvis discovered

00:55:14.240 this he wrote

00:55:14.780 quote

00:55:15.100 Walsh has more

00:55:16.280 than 620,000

00:55:17.420 Twitter followers

00:55:18.040 and describes

00:55:18.620 himself as a

00:55:19.260 theocratic fascist 0.96

00:55:20.160 philanthropist 0.58

00:55:21.120 and beekeeping

00:55:21.980 influencer on his

00:55:22.920 profile

00:55:23.340 it's true I do

00:55:25.160 though I've also

00:55:26.540 added style icon

00:55:27.620 to my profile

00:55:28.340 a fact which

00:55:28.900 did not make it

00:55:29.560 into this Newsweek

00:55:30.160 article

00:55:30.480 Newsweek has

00:55:31.060 delegitimized

00:55:32.120 and erased

00:55:32.680 my identity

00:55:33.320 as a fashion

00:55:33.900 guru

00:55:34.260 and for that

00:55:35.240 I can't forgive

00:55:35.760 them

00:55:35.960 but Jarvis goes

00:55:36.960 on quoting me

00:55:37.600 he writes

00:55:37.900 quote

00:55:38.140 in another tweet

00:55:39.420 Walsh said

00:55:39.960 quote

00:55:40.260 all of you 1.00

00:55:41.300 pathetic dummies 1.00

00:55:42.160 having a hissy fit 1.00

00:55:42.960 are driving

00:55:43.480 thousands of views

00:55:44.280 to my video

00:55:44.860 that you're mad

00:55:45.620 about

00:55:45.860 so yeah

00:55:46.340 it's great

00:55:46.880 now wait a minute

00:55:48.820 that doesn't sound

00:55:50.680 like something

00:55:50.980 I would say

00:55:51.460 does it

00:55:51.860 well I guess

00:55:53.160 it does

00:55:53.440 and it does

00:55:54.840 also sound

00:55:55.360 kind of rude

00:55:55.820 when you're

00:55:56.180 reprinted

00:55:56.660 in an article

00:55:57.100 like that

00:55:57.620 and you might

00:55:58.680 argue that

00:55:59.240 grown adults

00:55:59.920 reduced to tears

00:56:00.800 because a pop star

00:56:01.620 has one opinion

00:56:02.480 they disagree with

00:56:03.180 certainly deserve

00:56:04.280 a rude and insulting

00:56:05.200 response like that

00:56:06.120 these are indeed 1.00

00:56:07.440 pathetic dummies 1.00

00:56:08.180 and they probably 1.00

00:56:08.840 haven't been called 0.99

00:56:09.540 pathetic dummies 1.00

00:56:10.160 enough in their lives 1.00

00:56:11.000 it's important for them

00:56:12.100 to know that they're 1.00

00:56:12.680 pathetic dummies 1.00

00:56:13.220 so that perhaps 1.00

00:56:13.780 one day

00:56:14.160 they might have a chance

00:56:15.180 of becoming something

00:56:15.840 other than 1.00

00:56:16.380 a pathetic dummy 1.00

00:56:17.300 you might argue that 1.00

00:56:18.540 but you might see it

00:56:19.780 from the other side too

00:56:20.520 in fact

00:56:22.080 the more that I've

00:56:23.540 reflected on this issue

00:56:24.480 the more that I've

00:56:26.340 come to see

00:56:27.620 really

00:56:28.120 that the outrage

00:56:29.860 mob is right

00:56:30.520 I am

00:56:32.300 an extremist

00:56:33.700 a radical 0.99

00:56:34.760 frankly a scoundrel 0.96

00:56:36.080 I'm a dangerous man 0.92

00:56:37.700 and my opinions

00:56:38.740 are dangerous

00:56:39.180 and my tweets

00:56:40.260 are a hazard

00:56:40.680 to your health

00:56:41.160 who knows

00:56:42.300 how many people

00:56:42.740 I've killed 0.99

00:56:43.240 with my tweets 0.98

00:56:43.920 and my statements

00:56:44.580 and my opinions

00:56:45.260 the streets are

00:56:46.600 riddled with the bodies

00:56:48.180 of my victims

00:56:48.740 people who were

00:56:49.320 walking along

00:56:49.940 looked at their phone

00:56:50.680 encountered one of my

00:56:52.060 opinions by accident

00:56:52.880 dropped dead on the spot

00:56:54.180 it's happened more times

00:56:55.480 than I can count

00:56:57.080 Carrie Underwood

00:56:58.800 should know better

00:56:59.640 than to agree

00:57:00.240 with anything that I say

00:57:01.200 much less to publicly agree

00:57:02.400 her lack of judgment

00:57:04.100 and being at all

00:57:05.400 associated with me

00:57:06.280 even indirectly

00:57:07.060 is appalling

00:57:07.960 I'm the most appalled

00:57:10.200 and the most offended

00:57:10.840 because I know better

00:57:12.260 than anyone

00:57:12.820 what a horrible monster 0.97

00:57:13.880 I am 0.99

00:57:14.380 look

00:57:15.420 if you're offended

00:57:16.260 by my opinions

00:57:17.040 imagine how I must feel

00:57:18.780 I'm the one

00:57:20.080 who has to think them

00:57:20.960 they're in my head

00:57:22.300 I gotta live with this

00:57:22.940 every day

00:57:23.360 and if you hate

00:57:25.080 the opinions I say out loud

00:57:26.140 you cannot fathom

00:57:27.360 the opinions

00:57:28.000 I don't say out loud

00:57:29.060 admittedly I say

00:57:30.800 almost all of them

00:57:31.360 out loud

00:57:31.640 but still

00:57:32.020 the point is

00:57:33.760 I am just as traumatized

00:57:35.260 as everyone else

00:57:36.160 and even more so

00:57:37.800 I consider myself

00:57:39.740 to be in many ways

00:57:40.580 the primary victim

00:57:41.700 Carrie Underwood's

00:57:43.620 behavior is repugnant 0.71

00:57:44.760 I have never been 0.83

00:57:46.760 more disappointed

00:57:47.400 and that is why

00:57:49.480 in the end

00:57:50.100 the more that I've

00:57:51.380 thought about this

00:57:51.880 I have to join

00:57:53.380 with the mob

00:57:53.860 and saying to Carrie Underwood

00:57:54.960 you madam

00:57:56.140 are cancelled

00:57:57.640 you should know better

00:57:59.960 disappointing

00:58:01.540 and we'll leave it there
