The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 857 - Now SLU Wants To Expel A Student For Associating With Me

00:00:00.120 Today on the Matt Wall Show, St. Louis University is still seething about the event that I held there a few weeks ago,

00:00:05.340 and now they've decided to take their frustrations out on an innocent student.

00:00:08.860 One kid at the school faces possible expulsion from school for hanging flyers for my event off campus.

00:00:14.480 We'll talk about that. Also, the media is breathlessly reporting the fact that various Fox News hosts

00:00:19.580 apparently texted Trump administration officials on January 6th begging Trump to speak out against the riots that were happening.

00:00:25.520 But these text messages actually undermine their narrative about January 6th, and I'll explain why.

00:00:30.080 And an MSNBC contributor says that the Texas abortion law will lead to vigilantes, quote, hunting down foreigners.

00:00:36.080 How do you make that connection?

00:00:37.340 And in our daily cancellation, we will deal with the Methodist minister who appeared in drag on an HBO reality show.

00:00:42.960 He's the victim, he says, because he was forced to step down from his role at the church after the episode aired.

00:00:48.980 All of that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.

00:00:50.740 You know, there are some people who like to live on the wild side, and they don't put a protective case on their smartphones.

00:01:05.360 These are people, I almost admire the courage that it takes to do that.

00:01:09.680 But you are, you're taking chances you should just, it just takes one careless moment where you drop it and the phone breaks.

00:01:15.940 And, you know, going online without ExpressVPN, it's kind of like that, where you're taking a chance, you don't need to take it.

00:01:21.660 It only takes, it only takes one, one bad moment to really screw things up for you.

00:01:26.640 Every time you connect to an unencrypted network in cafes, hotels, airports, etc., your online data is not secured.

00:01:32.560 Any hacker on the same network can gain access to and steal your personal data, passwords, financial details, etc.

00:01:39.260 It doesn't take much technical knowledge to do this either.

00:01:41.360 I mean, just some cheap hardware is needed. 0.95

00:01:43.340 A smart 12-year-old could do it, or a dumb 15-year-old could even do it.

00:01:47.660 Your data is valuable. 0.92

00:01:48.900 Hackers can make up to $1,000 per person selling personal info on the dark web.

00:01:53.160 That's why they do this.

00:01:54.480 And that's why you need to use ExpressVPN.

00:01:56.220 They create a secure encrypted tunnel between your device and the internet.

00:02:00.340 Hackers are not able to steal your sensitive data.

00:02:02.580 So secure your online data today by visiting expressvpn.com slash Walsh.

00:02:06.200 That's E-X-P-R-E-S-S-V-P-N dot com slash Walsh.

00:02:09.260 And you can get an extra three months free, expressvpn.com slash Walsh.

00:02:13.380 Well, you may have thought that the St. Louis University saga was over now that my much-protested event was already held.

00:02:22.680 And that's all in the past now.

00:02:24.660 But that doesn't appear to be the case.

00:02:26.700 We are reminded that the administration officials there, and the ones who run most of these leftist universities, are not only partisan, but also vindictive and petty.

00:02:37.280 Just really bad people.

00:02:39.300 They hold grudges.

00:02:40.160 They seek to punish students who run afoul of them ideologically.

00:02:44.200 And they'll grab hold of any pretense, however superficial or facile it might be, in order to do that.

00:02:50.340 Which brings us to SLU student James Dowling, who faces the possibility of expulsion from school for hanging flyers advertising my event two weeks ago.

00:02:59.500 And it gets even more absurd than that.

00:03:02.080 So this is from the Daily Signal.

00:03:03.220 It reports, St. Louis University is threatening to expel or suspend a student for posting flyers advertising the Daily Wire's Matt Walsh's off-campus speaking event, according to the Young America's Foundation.

00:03:15.840 The student, James Dowling, was told in a December 9th video conference with school administrators that he could face expulsion for his inappropriate conduct and, quote, failure to comply, according to YAF.

00:03:26.460 Now, the thing to keep in mind here is that my event was off-campus.

00:03:56.460 And the flyers were also off-campus.

00:03:59.620 So this is an off-campus event where the advertising is also happening off-campus.

00:04:05.260 Which means that it's entirely outside of the jurisdiction of the university narcs who came to harass James Dowling.

00:04:13.260 There's nothing to do with them outside of their jurisdiction.

00:04:16.560 They are not police officers.

00:04:18.980 They have no right to tell anyone what they can or cannot do off-campus.

00:04:23.500 Especially when the offense is simply hanging a flyer.

00:04:27.040 And not an offensive flyer either, by the way.

00:04:28.720 There was nothing on the flyer.

00:04:29.700 There was no offensive imagery.

00:04:32.360 Just a picture of me, which, you know, maybe some people would say is offensive imagery.

00:04:35.380 But just a picture of me and then saying what event it is and that's it.

00:04:39.000 Really standard flyer.

00:04:41.400 Back to the article.

00:04:42.120 It says,

00:04:42.620 This is yet another case of politically motivated prosecution by the Office of Student Responsibility and Community Standards.

00:05:03.720 SLU College Republican President Nicholas Baker said in a statement shared with the Daily Caller.

00:05:08.280 After dealing with them when they went after the club for asking another organization the SLU sluts to define the word woman and learning that the Office's director distributed copies of the gender-bred person to students a few years ago, 0.77

00:05:19.400 I have no confidence in their ability to be fair and objective in their decisions.

00:05:22.660 So that's from the Daily Caller.

00:05:25.240 And then YAF over on YAF's website, they have a little more information on this.

00:05:29.240 So this is what they say.

00:05:30.000 Listen to this.

00:05:31.080 During the call with the administration officials, Dowling was informed that he was being charged with both failure to comply and inappropriate conduct.

00:05:36.280 According to the Office of Student Responsibility and Community Standards Assistant Director William Bowie, he was allegedly confrontational, disrespectful, and failed to comply with reasonable requests made by the staff in accordance with their duties.

00:05:51.380 Now, Dowling did contact the city to make sure that where he was hanging the flyers, that it was, in fact, off campus.

00:05:59.060 It was city property and not university property.

00:06:01.800 And it turns out that it was city property, not university property.

00:06:05.140 So their real claim against Dowling is that the flyers make mention of St. Louis University.

00:06:12.740 Now, I'm highly skeptical that they have the authority to tell students that they can't write the name of the school on a piece of paper and tape it up somewhere off campus.

00:06:22.700 I'm skeptical that they have that authority.

00:06:25.340 But even if they do, I mean, even if they can tell you that, he offered to cross out the offending phrase anyway.

00:06:33.580 That wasn't good enough for them.

00:06:35.140 And besides, pretending that this was some kind of violation and that the student hadn't offered a reasonable compromise.

00:06:43.240 Let's pretend that for a second.

00:06:45.040 Expulsion?

00:06:46.080 Really?

00:06:47.880 Yeah, that's the penalty he was explicitly threatened with.

00:06:50.620 On the call with the administration, this William Bowie person said to him,

00:06:54.720 If you were to be found responsible for a policy violation, suspension or expulsion from the institution are included within the range of possible outcomes that could be applied.

00:07:05.380 Of course, these people can never speak like real human beings.

00:07:08.160 Everything is communicated in bureaucratic parlance.

00:07:11.220 But that's beside the point.

00:07:13.240 Keep in mind that earlier this year, members of this SLU sluts organization, this group, again, that's their name for themselves.

00:07:21.140 It's not my name for them.

00:07:22.680 Although, as I've said, if the shoe fits, wear it.

00:07:24.740 But members of that group tore down an approved pro-life display on campus because they didn't like it.

00:07:32.160 There's a pro-life display that had been approved.

00:07:34.100 It was on campus.

00:07:35.520 And these self-described SLU sluts went over and tore it down. 1.00

00:07:40.600 That's an act of that's an actual crime. 0.77

00:07:42.640 That's an act of vandalism.

00:07:44.640 Nobody involved in that vandalism has been threatened with expulsion so far as I know.

00:07:48.620 So this is quite clearly politically motivated.

00:07:52.640 These are power-tripping bullies, still angry that I managed to have such a well-attended event despite their best efforts.

00:08:00.280 And now they're taking it out on some random kid who lacks the resources to fight back and defend himself.

00:08:05.780 This is a classic bully maneuver.

00:08:08.520 By the way, the article on YAF's site mentioned something that I thought was a good point.

00:08:12.080 Now, whatever happened to the great concern everyone supposedly has for mental health and well-being?

00:08:20.960 That's the whole reason that Simone Biles was just awarded Athlete of the Year, right, by time or whatever it was.

00:08:28.560 Because she's now a spokeswoman, a mascot for mental health.

00:08:34.900 And mental health is so important.

00:08:37.160 Now, this is not the main takeaway here, perhaps.

00:08:39.280 But it is worth pointing out that most of the stuff we hear about mental health is nonsense.

00:08:44.920 At least the people pretending to care about it don't.

00:08:48.060 Hanging expulsion over a kid's head because he put a flyer up off campus is, among other things, an assault on his mental health.

00:09:01.540 Imagine what kind of stress and anxiety that might induce.

00:09:05.420 And top it all off, this is apparently finals week.

00:09:07.420 So you've got that stress on top of it.

00:09:11.340 Well, as always, when these people talk about mental health, they mean it in a very qualified way.

00:09:15.200 They care about the mental health of their tribe, of their ideological comrades. 0.99

00:09:21.160 But a kid who has signaled that he's an enemy by associating himself with me, well, he can go to hell. 0.99

00:09:27.940 We'll just, we'll kick him out of school. 0.98

00:09:31.180 Let's cause him immense hardship for no reason at all.

00:09:35.560 And that's what getting expelled from college is no, it's no small thing.

00:09:39.160 That can haunt you for your whole life, potentially.

00:09:43.100 So let's do that, just because we can, to punish him for thinking differently.

00:09:46.920 Now, this is not a mere bias in my mind.

00:09:51.900 This is evil.

00:09:54.040 And I can tell you one thing.

00:09:55.920 You know, I'm not going to stand for that. 0.99

00:09:57.780 SLU has already seen what an enormous pain in the ass I can be. 0.99

00:10:01.780 And they don't know the half of it. 0.99

00:10:03.840 Because I can hold a grudge too.

00:10:05.120 And I can be petty and vindictive too.

00:10:07.340 I think I've demonstrated that.

00:10:09.920 If I've demonstrated anything, it's that.

00:10:11.600 So if they move forward with trying to expel this student, they're going to have many more headaches in the future to deal with.

00:10:18.240 I promise you that. 1.00

00:10:20.040 So just leave this kid alone, you damned sociopaths. 1.00

00:10:24.480 Now let's get to our five headlines. 1.00

00:10:32.000 It's the holiday season, a time for warmth and cheer and joy, if you're into that kind of thing.

00:10:38.020 But you know what it's also a time for?

00:10:39.240 It's a time for cybercriminals to stalk you and ruin your life.

00:10:44.760 Some tips to help you stay safe while holiday shopping include only visiting secure sites and apps from retailers you trust,

00:10:50.620 using a VPN instead of public Wi-Fi, creating strong passwords,

00:10:53.860 and checking your bank and credit accounts for fraud often.

00:10:57.180 Every day, listen, we put our information at risk on the internet in an instant,

00:11:00.880 especially during this time of year when you're doing a lot of online shopping and everything.

00:11:05.880 In an instant, a cybercriminal can steal what's yours.

00:11:08.560 Those sometimes even harm your finances, your credit, your reputation.

00:11:12.180 And that's why it's so good that there's LifeLock.

00:11:13.960 LifeLock helps detect a wide range of identity threats,

00:11:17.080 things that you might not know about if you don't have LifeLock,

00:11:20.600 like your social security number being for sale on the dark web.

00:11:23.280 If they detect your information has potentially been compromised,

00:11:25.820 they'll send you an alert.

00:11:27.300 And if, God forbid, something does happen, you do fall victim to this,

00:11:30.860 you have access to a dedicated restoration specialist who's going to help set everything right.

00:11:35.240 Nobody can prevent all identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses,

00:11:39.200 but you can help protect what's yours with LifeLock by Norton.

00:11:42.200 Join now and save up to 25% off your first year by going to LifeLock.com slash Walsh.

00:11:46.740 That's LifeLock.com slash Walsh for 25% off.

00:11:49.440 So as I mentioned yesterday, we're in California and, man, we were driving through the city yesterday

00:11:56.660 on our way to film an episode of Dr. Phil and more on that in a second.

00:12:00.400 But we were on the way and, dear God, I mean, this city is an embarrassment. 0.98

00:12:05.700 It is a hellhole, a giant garbage dump, just one enormous collapsing junkyard, 0.99

00:12:13.960 trash strewn all over the place, tent cities, homeless people, boarded up buildings. 0.99

00:12:21.460 Everywhere you drive, it's like this.

00:12:23.680 The whole city.

00:12:25.680 Ironically, it looks like the apocalypse and it also makes you pray for one at the same time.

00:12:30.620 I'm driving through and I'm thinking, how could anyone live in a place like this?

00:12:34.220 How could you choose to live here? 0.87

00:12:36.620 This whole city is one giant pulsating herpes sore.

00:12:40.000 I think about that scene.

00:12:41.940 Remember, have you ever seen The Revenant with Leo DiCaprio?

00:12:45.440 And there's that one scene where he's trying to escape the freezing cold.

00:12:48.220 He's out in the forest and he's freezing to death.

00:12:50.300 So he climbs inside a hollowed out horse carcass and sleeps there for the night.

00:12:55.200 And I think that I would rather do that.

00:12:57.000 I would rather take up residence inside the gutted cavity of a rotting horse than live in L.A. 0.99

00:13:02.580 It is just disgusting and dirty and awful and dangerous. 1.00

00:13:07.180 And it's humiliating. 0.99

00:13:08.780 Okay, it's embarrassing.

00:13:09.820 That's the other thing I was thinking as we're driving through.

00:13:11.280 I'm embarrassed as an American to have something like this in my country.

00:13:16.760 To have to say that this is an American city is embarrassing to me. 0.99

00:13:24.000 I mean, we're driving through with our phones out, taking pictures.

00:13:27.680 And I'm thinking about how people have been doing this in L.A. for decades, right?

00:13:31.300 Like tourists driving around taking pictures.

00:13:33.480 That's what my wife was doing. 1.00

00:13:34.620 We visited Southern California about 10 years ago on vacation.

00:13:38.680 And something that I would never even think about doing now.

00:13:42.440 And that was only 10 years ago.

00:13:43.680 But we're driving around and she's taking pictures.

00:13:45.600 And, you know, in the past, you're taking pictures of celebrities' houses.

00:13:48.860 Or, you know, you're at the beach.

00:13:51.400 You're taking pictures.

00:13:51.940 Or you're taking pictures of famous places from movies or whatever.

00:13:55.960 But yesterday, we were taking pictures of the biggest hobo camps that we found.

00:14:01.560 Oh, there's another one.

00:14:02.440 Look at that.

00:14:02.960 Wow.

00:14:03.360 Wow.

00:14:05.000 It's the most depressing sightseeing tour of all time.

00:14:09.380 And then I thought maybe L.A. should just go with that.

00:14:11.720 I mean, try to restart their tourist industry with this.

00:14:16.040 Make lemonade out of lemons.

00:14:18.920 You know, come to Los Angeles and see the world's largest pile of discarded shoes.

00:14:23.800 I don't know.

00:14:24.720 This is what Democrat rule gets you.

00:14:26.440 I mean, really, they have – the Democrat Party has totally destroyed, reduced these cities to rubble, these once great cities.

00:14:36.240 Los Angeles used to be, you know, something you thought about when you thought about the American dream.

00:14:42.700 People coming out to L.A. to make it and pursue their dreams or whatever.

00:14:45.700 Now it's thoroughly depressing and awful.

00:14:52.040 And anyway, yes, I went to – we went on Dr. Phil.

00:14:54.060 I can't really talk much about it, but I will say that what I have been told I can say is that we were filming an episode on the issue of pronouns and kind of gender ideology in general,

00:15:05.220 but focusing especially on pronouns and preferred pronouns and all the new pronouns that are out there, non-binary and all this kind of stuff.

00:15:12.840 And I was on the episode on a – I ended up on a panel basically with a non-binary diversity consultant and his – or he would say their – his trans partner, who's also a diversity consultant.

00:15:33.760 And then we also had a liberal college professor, and then there was also a non-binary parent who's raising their child genderless.

00:15:43.200 And so I was on a panel with these people on Dr. Phil, and all I can say is you will enjoy the episode, I think.

00:15:49.700 It's going to be a lot of fun when that comes out.

00:15:50.760 I'll let you know when it airs.

00:15:51.660 The studio audience – I think that you, in this audience, you will enjoy the episode, and I'm hoping that you'll enjoy my contributions to the conversation.

00:16:01.520 The studio audience did not enjoy what I had to say.

00:16:05.140 They were not fans.

00:16:06.840 I'll just put it to you that way.

00:16:08.380 All right.

00:16:08.740 So this is from Mediaite.

00:16:10.020 It says,

00:16:10.360 And Cheney said,

00:16:38.300 Multiple Fox News hosts knew the president needed to act immediately.

00:16:40.960 They texted Mr. Meadows, and he has turned over those texts.

00:16:45.500 Laura Ingram texted,

00:16:46.660 Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home.

00:16:49.200 This is hurting all of us.

00:16:50.300 He's destroying his legacy.

00:16:51.960 Brian Kilmeade said,

00:16:53.100 Please get him on TV, destroying everything you guys have accomplished.

00:16:56.800 Sean Hannity texted,

00:16:58.000 Can you make a statement?

00:16:58.920 Ask people to leave the Capitol.

00:17:00.980 Trump Jr. texted, 1.00

00:17:01.980 He's got to condemn this shit ASAP. 0.99

00:17:03.840 The Capitol Police tweet is not enough. 1.00

00:17:05.380 And so the media is making hay with this, of course.

00:17:10.660 I'm not exactly sure what they think this proves for them.

00:17:15.040 Because what they've told us about January 6th is that it was a conspiracy to overthrow the government.

00:17:20.820 And it was a conspiracy to overturn democracy.

00:17:24.380 And that everybody was in on it.

00:17:26.320 And Fox was in on it.

00:17:27.440 And Laura Ingram and Sean Hannity, they were all in on it.

00:17:30.860 And this was all a plan.

00:17:33.200 Right?

00:17:33.380 That's why some people were,

00:17:35.860 this event was promoted ahead of time.

00:17:39.680 And anybody who knew about it ahead of time,

00:17:42.400 they all knew what was going to happen,

00:17:43.800 and they wanted this to happen and everything else.

00:17:45.420 Well, these text messages just prove, yet again, that that's not the case.

00:17:52.180 That nobody wanted it.

00:17:54.800 Nobody on the outside wanted this,

00:17:56.560 wanted it to turn into a riot.

00:17:59.880 They wanted it to stop.

00:18:03.580 They saw it for what it was, 1.00

00:18:05.300 which was an incredibly foolish and stupid thing to do. 1.00

00:18:08.220 And utterly and totally self-destructive, obviously. 1.00

00:18:14.580 And that's what they saw.

00:18:15.620 So what does that prove?

00:18:19.260 Again, if it proves anything,

00:18:22.940 and I'm not sure,

00:18:23.720 I'm not exactly sure why text messages from Fox News hosts

00:18:27.360 have to be read in Congress.

00:18:31.920 They're not elected representatives.

00:18:33.520 Who cares what they said?

00:18:34.700 I mean, even if Laura Ingram had texted and said,

00:18:39.560 this is the greatest thing ever, I love it,

00:18:41.600 which she wouldn't have done,

00:18:42.540 but even if she had, so?

00:18:45.820 What relevance does that have in this committee hearing?

00:18:50.160 Well, it's because it's a show trial,

00:18:52.260 it's a witch hunt,

00:18:52.840 and so everything that might be politically useful

00:18:55.620 to the Democrats is relevant.

00:18:57.160 That's the reason, and I understand that.

00:18:58.740 So I'm speaking rhetorically here,

00:18:59.900 but that's not what anybody said.

00:19:04.700 So what we have here is more proof

00:19:06.440 that this is not a conspiracy,

00:19:07.880 not pre-planned.

00:19:10.940 This was a rally,

00:19:13.040 a demonstration that got wildly out of hand.

00:19:17.660 That's what it was.

00:19:19.800 All right.

00:19:22.640 So next we have this.

00:19:23.940 Of course, we know that the attack in Waukesha,

00:19:26.680 which, I mean, you may remember that.

00:19:29.140 Remember when a BLM supporter 0.99

00:19:32.280 rammed his car into a Christmas parade

00:19:34.920 and injured dozens of people

00:19:36.240 and murdered six people,

00:19:37.400 including elderly people and a child?

00:19:39.760 You may remember that,

00:19:41.340 but the media has,

00:19:42.360 within a day, they'd moved on from it.

00:19:44.480 But the Biden administration is,

00:19:46.580 it would seem,

00:19:47.340 finally sort of acknowledging,

00:19:48.820 and at least on the surface,

00:19:49.960 it seems that way,

00:19:50.580 if you read some of the headlines.

00:19:52.440 Because there are people

00:19:53.380 from the White House

00:19:54.400 that are going to be showing up

00:19:55.440 in Waukesha on Wednesday.

00:19:58.900 But then you keep reading

00:19:59.920 and you discover that,

00:20:00.880 well, they're only sending Jill Biden.

00:20:03.520 Joe Biden,

00:20:04.400 the president, is not going.

00:20:06.600 He doesn't care.

00:20:07.700 But his wife is going to go.

00:20:09.540 And then there's more.

00:20:10.260 This is from The Hill.

00:20:10.880 It says,

00:20:11.120 A trio of Biden administration officials

00:20:13.480 will visit Wisconsin on Wednesday

00:20:14.980 to promote coronavirus vaccines

00:20:18.980 and meet with victims

00:20:21.140 and first responders

00:20:21.980 of the Waukesha parade attack last month.

00:20:24.640 First Lady Jill Biden,

00:20:25.740 Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff,

00:20:27.840 and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy

00:20:29.820 will all make the trip to Milwaukee

00:20:32.240 and Waukesha this week,

00:20:33.220 the White House announced on Monday.

00:20:34.260 I mean, think about this.

00:20:34.940 This is worse than not visiting.

00:20:37.520 This is a lot worse than not going at all.

00:20:39.500 And saying nothing about it

00:20:41.920 and pretending like it didn't happen,

00:20:43.200 which is what the administration

00:20:43.960 has been doing.

00:20:45.380 Now you're sending the first lady 1.00

00:20:46.640 and the husband of the vice president.

00:20:50.020 You can't even get the vice president.

00:20:53.100 You're getting her henpecked husband 1.00

00:20:54.960 and the Surgeon General is going.

00:20:57.620 What does a Surgeon General

00:20:58.540 have to do with this?

00:21:00.740 Well, it's because the group

00:21:01.760 will meet with victims of the tragedy

00:21:03.240 at Children's Wisconsin Hospital

00:21:05.300 in addition to meeting

00:21:06.460 with health care workers

00:21:07.360 and children who just received

00:21:08.640 COVID-19 vaccines.

00:21:11.960 Biden and Emhoff

00:21:13.060 are scheduled to make brief remarks

00:21:14.480 as part of the White House's effort

00:21:16.060 to encourage COVID-19 vaccines

00:21:18.500 in those ages five and up.

00:21:21.420 So really,

00:21:22.560 they feel like politically

00:21:24.600 someone has to make

00:21:26.920 a brief appearance in Waukesha.

00:21:28.140 They have no point.

00:21:29.500 So they're sending in

00:21:30.780 not even the JV team.

00:21:31.980 I mean, they're sending in

00:21:32.720 the backups of the JV.

00:21:33.720 They're sending in 0.98

00:21:34.620 the bench riders

00:21:35.680 on the JV team,

00:21:37.720 which the husband 0.95

00:21:39.600 of the vice president

00:21:40.400 nobody likes.

00:21:41.680 They're sending him

00:21:42.780 and Jill Biden

00:21:43.860 and the Surgeon General.

00:21:45.820 And really,

00:21:46.600 what they're going to be talking about

00:21:47.540 is getting kids vaccinated

00:21:49.140 five and up.

00:21:50.060 And then they'll throw in,

00:21:51.320 oh, yeah,

00:21:51.840 I mean,

00:21:52.060 this thing in Waukesha

00:21:52.700 happened to him.

00:21:53.140 That was bad.

00:21:53.560 What a mockery this is.

00:22:00.580 A child was killed

00:22:02.240 in Waukesha

00:22:04.460 and they're sending

00:22:06.000 the Surgeon General

00:22:06.860 to Waukesha

00:22:07.600 to talk about why

00:22:09.060 children should get vaccinated?

00:22:13.440 It's a joke.

00:22:14.760 It's a sick joke.

00:22:16.140 It's a very not funny joke

00:22:17.440 that they're making of this.

00:22:21.440 Once again,

00:22:22.640 simply evil people.

00:22:24.060 OK, next,

00:22:24.540 here's Claire McCaskill

00:22:25.740 on MSNBC

00:22:26.980 fretting about

00:22:29.220 the Texas abortion law,

00:22:30.620 which is a vigilante law,

00:22:31.960 she says.

00:22:33.040 And then she

00:22:33.620 starts talking about

00:22:34.440 where she thinks

00:22:35.180 this law will lead.

00:22:36.540 And I'm not quite sure

00:22:37.620 I follow her logic,

00:22:38.760 but maybe you will.

00:22:39.580 Listen to this.

00:22:40.520 And I think this

00:22:41.300 vigilantism is going to catch on.

00:22:43.300 I'll tell you

00:22:43.740 what's going to happen next, Nicole.

00:22:45.300 These red states 0.72

00:22:46.300 are going to do

00:22:46.840 vigilantism laws

00:22:48.140 on immigration.

00:22:49.640 And they're going to

00:22:50.300 empower citizens

00:22:51.640 to go out

00:22:52.460 and round up

00:22:53.780 people they think

00:22:54.720 look like foreigners. 0.89

00:22:56.880 And that's what we're

00:22:58.080 coming to in this country.

00:22:59.120 And it is incredibly

00:23:00.160 depressing,

00:23:01.180 especially

00:23:01.660 as we're so near

00:23:03.640 a religious holiday

00:23:05.080 that is all about

00:23:06.220 loving other people

00:23:07.680 and accepting

00:23:08.740 the least among us

00:23:09.920 to be part

00:23:11.060 of the larger group.

00:23:12.440 Okay, a couple things here.

00:23:16.860 There are going to be

00:23:17.500 laws in red states

00:23:18.660 empowering citizens

00:23:20.360 to round up foreigners. 0.98

00:23:21.940 Yeah, that's what.

00:23:24.160 Yeah, just go round them up

00:23:25.300 and that's what the law

00:23:25.860 is going to say.

00:23:26.520 Anyone who looks

00:23:27.000 like a foreigner, 0.99

00:23:27.760 just round them up,

00:23:28.960 ship them, you know,

00:23:29.820 bring them anywhere

00:23:30.800 you want to bring them

00:23:31.440 outside of the country.

00:23:34.540 That's a thing

00:23:35.100 that will actually happen.

00:23:36.040 We can all see that.

00:23:36.800 Well, yeah,

00:23:39.320 in her feverish brain,

00:23:41.660 then, yeah,

00:23:42.460 there might be

00:23:42.780 a connection there.

00:23:43.560 Okay.

00:23:44.780 But also,

00:23:45.640 could I just say

00:23:46.280 that what she said

00:23:47.740 at the end there,

00:23:48.460 like, this is the message

00:23:49.380 of Christmas.

00:23:50.420 What?

00:23:51.320 It's not the message

00:23:52.840 of Christmas

00:23:53.440 is accepting people

00:23:54.760 into the larger group

00:23:55.920 or whatever.

00:23:57.080 That's not the message

00:23:57.860 of Christmas.

00:24:01.500 The message of Christmas

00:24:02.740 is that Christ,

00:24:04.480 the Son of God,

00:24:05.160 has come to redeem

00:24:05.900 mankind and save us

00:24:08.060 from our sins.

00:24:08.940 That's the message

00:24:09.760 of Christmas.

00:24:13.460 It's actually

00:24:14.160 a religious holiday

00:24:15.040 with a very specific

00:24:16.200 meaning,

00:24:18.160 very specific

00:24:18.740 religious significance.

00:24:22.140 Significance to all mankind,

00:24:23.480 but it's a Christian holiday.

00:24:28.820 I know that they like

00:24:30.240 to do this.

00:24:30.680 You take any Christian holiday 0.98

00:24:32.900 or anything from the Bible

00:24:34.580 and anything at all

00:24:37.080 from Christian tradition

00:24:37.820 and suddenly,

00:24:39.780 really,

00:24:40.300 this is all about

00:24:41.020 diversity and tolerance.

00:24:42.500 Would you look at that?

00:24:43.120 It's really all about

00:24:44.040 the things that we care about.

00:24:47.580 That's all it is,

00:24:48.300 of course.

00:24:49.640 All right.

00:24:51.240 I want to play this quickly.

00:24:52.360 Elon Musk was named

00:24:53.480 Time Person of the Year,

00:24:54.820 so we had

00:24:55.680 the athlete of the year

00:24:57.360 who was someone

00:24:58.160 who quit

00:24:58.560 and now we have

00:25:00.020 person of the year.

00:25:00.980 I think Elon Musk

00:25:02.100 can make a much better

00:25:03.200 case for himself

00:25:03.960 for being person of the year

00:25:04.860 for his actual,

00:25:06.140 because in this case,

00:25:07.160 he's being awarded

00:25:08.980 the title

00:25:09.780 for his actual

00:25:10.580 contributions

00:25:11.360 to society,

00:25:13.140 not for quitting.

00:25:15.600 But the left

00:25:16.280 was very upset

00:25:16.980 about that

00:25:18.020 and then they were

00:25:18.540 even more upset

00:25:19.160 because he said this

00:25:20.820 about vaccine mandates.

00:25:21.960 Are you vaccinated?

00:25:24.100 Yes.

00:25:24.700 Yeah, yeah.

00:25:25.120 Yeah, I mean,

00:25:25.460 I'm very pro-vaccination.

00:25:27.240 I believe the science

00:25:28.600 is unequivocal.

00:25:29.400 I treat it to that effect.

00:25:30.540 But by the same token,

00:25:31.280 I am against forcing people

00:25:33.080 to be vaccinated.

00:25:34.020 You know,

00:25:34.180 I think this is just

00:25:35.100 not something

00:25:35.820 we should do in America.

00:25:37.320 I think we should

00:25:38.000 encourage people

00:25:39.320 to be vaccinated,

00:25:40.720 strongly try to convince

00:25:41.860 them to be vaccinated,

00:25:43.140 but not force them

00:25:45.520 to be vaccinated

00:25:46.260 or, for example,

00:25:47.520 force them to get vaccinated

00:25:48.380 or get fired.

00:25:49.480 So, Elon Musk

00:25:50.540 is an anti-vaxxer now.

00:25:52.640 He's been inducted

00:25:53.980 into the club

00:25:55.180 of anti-vaxxers

00:25:56.120 along with a whole lot

00:25:58.140 of other people

00:25:58.600 that never knew

00:25:59.400 that they were anti-vaxxers.

00:26:01.540 That's something

00:26:02.140 I've learned about myself

00:26:03.080 in the last year.

00:26:04.100 I never knew

00:26:04.520 that I was an anti-vaxxer.

00:26:05.820 I never was an anti-vaxxer.

00:26:07.340 I never tried

00:26:07.800 to be an anti-vaxxer.

00:26:09.980 I never had a problem

00:26:11.280 in principle

00:26:12.120 with the concept

00:26:12.920 of vaccines.

00:26:17.100 You know,

00:26:17.280 I never agree.

00:26:18.520 There have always been,

00:26:19.620 there has been

00:26:21.280 a certain group

00:26:22.020 of people,

00:26:22.620 I think a small group

00:26:23.360 of people,

00:26:24.760 even before the coronavirus,

00:26:27.180 you could accurately

00:26:28.220 describe themselves,

00:26:29.280 describe them

00:26:30.060 as anti-vaxxer.

00:26:30.740 They would probably

00:26:31.080 describe themselves

00:26:31.800 that way

00:26:32.300 in that they're opposed

00:26:34.380 to all vaccines

00:26:35.600 and they're not going

00:26:36.220 to give their kids

00:26:36.620 any vaccines.

00:26:37.460 It's a small group

00:26:38.520 of people

00:26:38.880 and it's still

00:26:41.140 a small group

00:26:41.600 of people

00:26:41.920 that fall

00:26:42.760 into that category

00:26:43.600 and that's their right.

00:26:47.160 That's their own

00:26:48.020 value system.

00:26:48.560 I don't agree with it.

00:26:50.620 But now we've

00:26:51.400 expanded this

00:26:52.280 and even if you

00:26:53.660 are in favor

00:26:54.460 of the concept

00:26:55.080 of vaccines

00:26:55.700 and you think

00:26:56.140 it's great

00:26:56.480 for people

00:26:56.840 to get vaccinated

00:26:57.860 if they choose to,

00:27:00.060 if you simply

00:27:02.220 believe that

00:27:03.140 there should be

00:27:04.220 a choice there,

00:27:05.200 if you're pro-choice

00:27:06.100 when it comes

00:27:06.460 to vaccines

00:27:07.060 and you think

00:27:08.560 we shouldn't

00:27:09.040 destroy someone's

00:27:10.420 livelihood

00:27:10.880 and take away

00:27:12.400 their ability

00:27:12.860 to feed their kids

00:27:13.900 because they don't

00:27:14.720 get vaccinated,

00:27:15.340 that makes you

00:27:15.800 anti-vax.

00:27:16.400 So welcome,

00:27:17.560 Elon Musk,

00:27:17.980 to the anti-vax crowd.

00:27:19.540 All right,

00:27:19.700 next, 0.99

00:27:20.160 there's a Sex 0.93

00:27:21.120 in the City

00:27:21.520 sequel series

00:27:22.800 called

00:27:23.100 And Just Like That

00:27:24.080 and of course

00:27:25.800 the show

00:27:27.240 is absurdly

00:27:28.280 over-the-top woke

00:27:29.360 which is to be expected.

00:27:31.980 I never watched

00:27:35.220 the original

00:27:35.680 Sex in the City 0.92

00:27:36.280 but I imagine

00:27:37.320 that the original

00:27:37.940 for its time

00:27:38.840 was also pretty woke

00:27:39.880 so there should be

00:27:41.800 no surprise here

00:27:42.580 but there's one scene

00:27:43.840 in particular

00:27:44.300 that's made its rounds

00:27:45.420 online

00:27:46.040 and it's,

00:27:47.840 if you didn't know

00:27:49.520 any better

00:27:49.980 and you didn't know

00:27:50.500 anything about

00:27:50.820 Sex in the City 0.92

00:27:51.360 or anything else

00:27:51.800 and you saw this

00:27:52.420 you would think

00:27:53.420 that it was,

00:27:53.840 you would almost

00:27:54.260 think it was a parody.

00:27:55.560 You would almost

00:27:55.940 think it was like

00:27:56.400 a Babylon Bee skit

00:27:57.500 making fun of wokeness 0.87

00:27:58.700 but it's not,

00:27:59.620 I assure you.

00:28:00.760 So let's watch this.

00:28:02.400 Sorry,

00:28:02.820 he just told me.

00:28:04.080 Someone's quick

00:28:04.700 with the pronouns.

00:28:05.560 It's fine.

00:28:07.080 I am the professor.

00:28:10.320 You're the professor?

00:28:11.500 Yeah.

00:28:12.100 You're Naya Wallace?

00:28:13.500 Yes.

00:28:14.340 Why do you seem

00:28:14.940 so surprised?

00:28:15.980 Well, your braids.

00:28:17.900 A law professor

00:28:18.540 can't have hair like mine?

00:28:19.980 Why is that?

00:28:20.860 Oh, no, no, no.

00:28:21.640 I didn't,

00:28:22.020 I didn't mean

00:28:22.520 because of the braids.

00:28:24.080 I was, I was,

00:28:24.780 I was just thrown

00:28:26.020 because the braids

00:28:27.840 are so different

00:28:28.960 than the hair

00:28:30.000 in your photo

00:28:30.500 on the Columbia website

00:28:31.800 my comment

00:28:32.600 had nothing whatsoever

00:28:33.500 to do with it

00:28:34.020 being a black hairstyle. 0.70

00:28:35.220 I knew that you were black 0.97

00:28:36.280 when I signed up 0.94

00:28:37.180 for this class.

00:28:37.860 That was important to me.

00:28:41.040 You signed up

00:28:41.780 for this class 0.96

00:28:42.240 because I'm black?

00:28:44.140 Well, not just 0.99

00:28:44.860 because you're black. 0.99

00:28:45.960 I picked this class 0.99

00:28:46.860 because you're such

00:28:48.240 a force in academia

00:28:49.340 on top of everything

00:28:50.620 you do as a community activist.

00:28:52.460 God, I sound like

00:28:53.260 such a brown nose.

00:28:54.140 I mean,

00:28:56.100 please just forget

00:28:58.360 that I ever said

00:28:59.680 anything about your hair.

00:29:01.420 Hair has nothing

00:29:03.300 whatsoever to do

00:29:04.800 with appropriateness

00:29:06.540 or intelligence

00:29:07.440 or gravitas,

00:29:08.360 obviously.

00:29:09.080 I mean,

00:29:09.400 do I look like someone

00:29:10.540 who attaches

00:29:11.160 any significance to hair?

00:29:12.920 I let mine go gray

00:29:14.260 and I don't care

00:29:14.980 if it makes me look old.

00:29:16.100 Not that I'm ageist.

00:29:17.400 Do I sound ageist?

00:29:19.000 You really want me

00:29:19.600 to answer that question?

00:29:20.240 Uh, again,

00:29:22.120 as far as I can tell,

00:29:24.000 again, I never,

00:29:24.560 I haven't seen the show. 1.00

00:29:25.340 I would rather shoot myself 0.98

00:29:27.360 than watch this. 0.98

00:29:28.400 But as far as I can tell,

00:29:29.300 this is not supposed

00:29:30.580 to be a satire

00:29:31.640 or parody

00:29:32.280 or making fun of wokeness.

00:29:35.120 So that's what you get there.

00:29:36.000 This is really,

00:29:36.720 this is like one

00:29:37.500 of those race hoaxes.

00:29:39.360 It's like the one

00:29:39.960 we talked about yesterday

00:29:40.720 of the doctor

00:29:41.880 who claimed that someone

00:29:42.800 stopped a black doctor

00:29:44.080 in a suit and tie,

00:29:45.800 full suit and tie

00:29:46.520 at a hospital

00:29:47.120 with a name tag

00:29:48.280 that says doctor on it,

00:29:49.640 claiming that someone

00:29:50.760 stopped him in the hallway

00:29:51.660 and said, excuse me,

00:29:52.800 I assume that you're

00:29:54.360 a member of the custodial staff.

00:29:57.320 Please go,

00:29:58.080 go clean my toilets at once.

00:29:59.800 That's what he claimed.

00:30:01.060 And, um,

00:30:01.840 I'll be very clearly

00:30:03.160 a race hoax 0.87

00:30:03.740 from Dr. Smollett.

00:30:05.400 This is one of those

00:30:06.600 race hoaxes acted out.

00:30:09.080 This is,

00:30:09.740 because this is the kind

00:30:10.640 of conversation,

00:30:11.500 the kind of interaction

00:30:12.440 that especially elitists

00:30:15.380 on the left,

00:30:16.340 they think that these sorts

00:30:17.840 of things happen

00:30:18.460 out in the world.

00:30:20.240 And that's why

00:30:20.940 they're incapable

00:30:22.240 of coming up

00:30:22.940 with a race hoax

00:30:23.560 that's believable.

00:30:24.960 Jussie Smollett,

00:30:26.020 a Hollywood guy,

00:30:26.980 he's very privileged,

00:30:27.920 very, you know,

00:30:28.600 wealthy, somehow

00:30:29.340 has managed to be wealthy

00:30:30.640 and famous as an actor.

00:30:33.660 He doesn't spend a lot

00:30:34.600 of time around normal people.

00:30:37.100 Now, Jussie Smollett,

00:30:38.280 from his prison cell,

00:30:39.240 if he's watching that,

00:30:42.100 he's probably thinking

00:30:43.120 to himself,

00:30:43.440 well, yeah,

00:30:43.760 this happens all the time.

00:30:44.980 that a white person

00:30:47.880 would say to a black person,

00:30:50.200 well, I assume that 0.97

00:30:51.640 you're not a professor

00:30:52.320 because of your hair.

00:30:54.480 What?

00:30:55.060 Because I've never seen

00:30:55.980 a professor with braids?

00:30:57.420 What?

00:30:57.580 The people that write this,

00:31:03.020 they all exist

00:31:03.600 in that same bubble.

00:31:05.300 And that's what makes it

00:31:06.280 so unintentionally hilarious

00:31:07.400 because this is not life.

00:31:09.860 This is not what happens.

00:31:10.660 But for anyone

00:31:12.960 who was disappointed

00:31:14.180 or upset,

00:31:15.260 as some people on social media

00:31:16.200 appear to be,

00:31:17.460 that the new Sex and the City

00:31:19.000 is woke,

00:31:19.520 I've seen a lot of complaints

00:31:20.420 from people,

00:31:21.560 oh, this new Sex and the City 0.83

00:31:22.780 sequel's terrible.

00:31:25.280 This is a disappointment.

00:31:27.100 They are ruining the legacy

00:31:29.500 of Sex and the City.

00:31:32.200 What did you think

00:31:33.040 was going to happen?

00:31:35.400 Just know this now.

00:31:37.560 Okay?

00:31:38.500 This is,

00:31:39.160 every franchise,

00:31:42.580 every TV series,

00:31:44.620 every film,

00:31:46.800 it's all of this now.

00:31:49.860 If there's any,

00:31:50.420 if there's any franchise

00:31:51.600 or series or movie

00:31:53.360 that came out prior to,

00:31:56.280 you know,

00:31:56.700 seven or eight years ago

00:31:57.960 that you liked,

00:32:00.100 you should not want there to be

00:32:02.320 any kind of sequel

00:32:03.500 or remake or anything.

00:32:08.040 I saw on Twitter,

00:32:09.160 someone put out

00:32:10.180 kind of a question

00:32:11.360 for everybody

00:32:13.020 and the question was

00:32:13.760 something like,

00:32:16.060 you know,

00:32:16.400 which series have been

00:32:18.760 the most ruined

00:32:19.600 by going woke?

00:32:22.020 And the answer,

00:32:22.680 of course,

00:32:22.900 is all of them.

00:32:24.340 This is what they all are.

00:32:26.400 Hollywood is not capable

00:32:27.500 of producing anything

00:32:28.720 but this now.

00:32:31.840 And so you have to understand,

00:32:32.900 it's also,

00:32:34.820 now that's a TV series,

00:32:35.800 so not eligible

00:32:36.620 for an Academy Award,

00:32:38.020 but the Academy

00:32:39.880 has made this a rule now.

00:32:41.160 It's basically required now

00:32:42.720 if you're making a film

00:32:44.300 and you want to

00:32:45.180 have a chance

00:32:46.340 of winning an Academy Award,

00:32:47.840 which I'm not even sure

00:32:50.160 why you'd care about that anymore

00:32:51.180 because the movie

00:32:52.660 going public

00:32:53.240 doesn't care about it.

00:32:55.040 That used to be

00:32:55.880 one of the values

00:32:57.120 of winning an Academy Award

00:32:58.840 is that the public

00:33:00.200 cares about it.

00:33:00.900 And so if you can say

00:33:01.640 that I'm an Academy Award

00:33:02.560 winning actor,

00:33:03.120 more people are likely

00:33:04.300 to go watch

00:33:05.200 your next movie.

00:33:05.840 That's not the case anymore.

00:33:06.620 Nobody cares.

00:33:07.720 But the Academy

00:33:10.140 has put rules down

00:33:11.120 saying you have to have

00:33:12.880 X number of trans people

00:33:14.500 and X number of this and that.

00:33:15.860 So this is every single series,

00:33:18.400 every movie,

00:33:18.920 it will all be this.

00:33:22.180 Amazon has that new

00:33:23.560 Lord of the Rings prequel

00:33:25.740 trilogy come out.

00:33:26.460 They spent like

00:33:26.800 a billion dollars on it.

00:33:29.520 A lot of people,

00:33:30.540 including many conservatives

00:33:31.520 I follow on social media,

00:33:32.700 very excited about it.

00:33:34.300 Because they're big

00:33:35.020 Lord of the Rings fans.

00:33:37.160 Well, don't you?

00:33:37.960 This is Amazon.

00:33:40.620 Okay, what do you think

00:33:42.080 they're going to do to it?

00:33:45.480 And then you're going to sit down

00:33:46.520 and you're going to watch it

00:33:47.040 and be disappointed

00:33:47.680 because there's a trans,

00:33:49.440 non-binary,

00:33:50.840 disabled hobbit 0.86

00:33:52.120 or something.

00:33:53.200 Of course.

00:33:55.640 That's all of them.

00:33:57.640 If it's coming from Hollywood,

00:33:59.080 it is all this.

00:33:59.820 They cannot do anything

00:34:00.920 but this.

00:34:01.520 All right,

00:34:03.640 finally,

00:34:04.100 this is from MSN.

00:34:05.300 At a junior hockey game

00:34:06.400 in Sioux Falls,

00:34:07.380 South Dakota

00:34:07.880 on Saturday night,

00:34:09.240 $5,000 in $1 bills

00:34:11.240 was dumped onto a carpet

00:34:12.740 in the middle of the ice

00:34:13.920 as 10 local teachers

00:34:15.940 readied themselves

00:34:16.700 to shovel up

00:34:17.540 as much as they could.

00:34:19.240 Here's some of the footage here.

00:34:20.280 We could play it for you.

00:34:21.620 And this was also

00:34:22.240 making the rounds

00:34:22.660 on social media.

00:34:23.120 People were very upset

00:34:23.700 about this.

00:34:24.140 There we go.

00:34:26.540 We see them.

00:34:29.140 Look at that.

00:34:29.820 Crawling around on the ground,

00:34:31.080 scooping up $1 bills

00:34:32.460 in front of the crowd.

00:34:37.360 And the crowd isn't even cheering.

00:34:38.700 I think the crowd is confused

00:34:39.880 and embarrassed

00:34:40.460 by the whole spectacle.

00:34:44.520 Maybe you could justify this

00:34:46.140 if they were $100 bills.

00:34:47.480 Somebody puts a bunch

00:34:49.740 of $1 bills on the carpet

00:34:50.860 and says,

00:34:51.240 do you want to go

00:34:51.800 join that dog pile 0.98

00:34:54.960 and try to grab some?

00:34:56.380 I would say,

00:34:56.880 well, no, sir.

00:34:57.440 I have dignity.

00:34:59.660 Then if I look over

00:35:00.320 and it's $100 bills,

00:35:01.360 well, okay,

00:35:01.920 I'll think about it.

00:35:04.680 Anyway,

00:35:05.120 back to MSN,

00:35:05.960 it says,

00:35:06.280 when the competition began,

00:35:07.020 the teachers,

00:35:07.580 all wearing hockey helmets,

00:35:08.680 crawled into the pile of cash,

00:35:10.280 frantically stuffing the bills

00:35:11.400 into their shirts

00:35:12.080 as an arena of spectators

00:35:13.360 hollered and cheered.

00:35:14.460 I didn't hear the cheering

00:35:15.140 until every dollar

00:35:16.740 was snatched up.

00:35:18.580 A clip of the event

00:35:19.220 went viral over the weekend

00:35:20.240 and had amassed more than

00:35:21.500 7.7 million views on Twitter

00:35:24.480 as of early Monday.

00:35:26.000 Critics said,

00:35:26.860 the image of teachers

00:35:27.600 on their hands and knees

00:35:28.600 scrambling for low-denomination bills

00:35:30.660 was dehumanizing

00:35:32.120 and even dystopian,

00:35:33.620 especially as teachers

00:35:34.360 are paid relatively small salaries

00:35:36.060 in South Dakota

00:35:36.600 and nationwide.

00:35:38.500 And people were very upset.

00:35:40.380 And the reason I'm bringing this up

00:35:42.400 is that the one theme

00:35:43.500 that we've seen

00:35:44.980 from the people responding

00:35:45.900 to this spectacle

00:35:46.620 is that education

00:35:48.460 is underfunded.

00:35:49.960 And this is supposedly

00:35:50.660 an example

00:35:52.200 of how education

00:35:54.080 is underfunded

00:35:54.760 and we need more funding

00:35:55.560 for education.

00:35:56.580 I mean, obviously,

00:35:57.160 it's underfunded.

00:35:58.480 If these teachers

00:35:59.500 are forced to

00:36:00.460 crawl around on the ground

00:36:02.420 or an ice hockey rink

00:36:03.580 for $1 bills,

00:36:06.020 it must mean

00:36:07.440 there's not enough funding

00:36:08.380 of education.

00:36:09.080 Well, I'm here to tell you

00:36:09.880 that is not the case at all.

00:36:12.040 Between state

00:36:13.020 and local sources,

00:36:14.680 we put,

00:36:16.360 between those two,

00:36:18.280 we are funding education

00:36:20.160 to the tune of

00:36:21.300 hundreds of billions

00:36:23.660 of dollars

00:36:24.400 across the country,

00:36:27.320 federal and state.

00:36:29.060 Cumulative,

00:36:29.680 we're talking hundreds

00:36:30.560 and hundreds of billions

00:36:31.360 of dollars

00:36:31.740 that go into education.

00:36:33.900 I mean,

00:36:34.040 anything that's getting

00:36:34.760 hundreds of billions of dollars,

00:36:35.640 it's hard to argue

00:36:36.420 that it's underfunded.

00:36:37.260 But this is the government

00:36:40.460 we're talking about.

00:36:42.060 So just because

00:36:43.100 there's all this funding

00:36:44.220 of education,

00:36:45.340 does that mean

00:36:46.320 that every individual class

00:36:47.800 is appropriately funded

00:36:48.820 or that teachers

00:36:51.080 all have the supplies

00:36:52.080 that they need?

00:36:53.740 No, it doesn't.

00:36:55.820 So when I say

00:36:56.360 that we are funding education

00:36:58.140 quite enough,

00:36:58.840 in fact,

00:36:59.080 we're funding it too much,

00:37:00.820 much,

00:37:01.440 there's far too much funding

00:37:02.920 going to education,

00:37:04.240 am I denying

00:37:05.260 that there are teachers

00:37:07.660 who don't have enough

00:37:08.360 supplies in their classroom?

00:37:10.000 They have to maybe

00:37:10.440 go out of pocket sometimes

00:37:11.620 or reduce themselves

00:37:13.280 to this to get funding?

00:37:14.380 No, I'm not denying that

00:37:15.140 because the issue

00:37:16.920 is the allocation

00:37:17.880 of those resources.

00:37:19.900 That's the problem.

00:37:21.980 You're not going to solve

00:37:22.960 that problem

00:37:23.460 by throwing more money at it.

00:37:26.160 There's enough money

00:37:27.080 to go around.

00:37:28.280 It's just that

00:37:28.920 it's misallocated.

00:37:32.780 And that's almost

00:37:34.240 always the problem,

00:37:35.020 where the government

00:37:35.580 is concerned.

00:37:37.340 If there's any

00:37:38.240 worthy program

00:37:39.800 or cause

00:37:40.660 or anything

00:37:41.560 that you consider

00:37:43.940 to be worthy

00:37:44.480 and it doesn't seem

00:37:45.480 to be getting enough funding,

00:37:46.460 I can guarantee you

00:37:47.440 the money is there,

00:37:48.440 it's just not

00:37:49.080 it's not getting

00:37:49.840 where it needs to go.

00:37:51.760 It's getting dispersed

00:37:52.960 somewhere else

00:37:53.860 along the line

00:37:55.620 because this is what

00:37:56.280 bureaucracy does.

00:37:57.680 And education is,

00:37:59.080 this is why the Department

00:37:59.860 of Education

00:38:00.220 shouldn't exist

00:38:00.800 because it's one big

00:38:02.020 giant bureaucracy

00:38:02.900 and bureaucracies

00:38:03.620 exist for this person,

00:38:05.240 purpose really,

00:38:06.180 to misallocate funds,

00:38:08.580 to waste money,

00:38:09.280 to waste time.

00:38:12.320 Bureaucracies exist

00:38:13.160 for their own sake.

00:38:16.100 So everybody,

00:38:16.560 all the bureaucrats

00:38:17.420 in the Department

00:38:17.880 of Education,

00:38:19.220 they're all,

00:38:19.780 they're not there

00:38:20.360 for education

00:38:21.360 or for your kid

00:38:22.420 who's in public school

00:38:23.260 or to make sure

00:38:25.060 that a teacher

00:38:25.620 has enough supplies

00:38:26.340 in the classroom.

00:38:26.680 They're there

00:38:27.000 for their own sake,

00:38:27.780 to justify their own jobs,

00:38:30.000 to get paid themselves.

00:38:32.040 So therefore,

00:38:32.720 that's why

00:38:33.140 teachers unions exist

00:38:34.100 as well.

00:38:36.620 So,

00:38:37.200 it's not underfunding,

00:38:38.280 it's misallocation.

00:38:39.360 Big difference there.

00:38:40.360 You probably feel like

00:38:41.100 you're just burning

00:38:41.820 through money these days

00:38:42.860 with how expensive

00:38:43.860 everything is,

00:38:44.540 whether you're going

00:38:44.960 grocery shopping

00:38:45.700 or you're at the gas pump

00:38:47.220 or anywhere else.

00:38:48.420 And that's why

00:38:49.060 you should look

00:38:49.360 for any opportunity

00:38:50.000 to save money monthly.

00:38:51.860 And here's one thing

00:38:52.640 that can do it

00:38:53.320 through refinancing

00:38:54.840 your mortgage.

00:38:55.500 If you own a home

00:38:56.040 and haven't refinanced,

00:38:57.260 what are you waiting for?

00:38:58.140 Mortgage rates

00:38:58.600 are at historic lows

00:38:59.540 once again,

00:39:00.100 which means

00:39:00.420 you can easily drop

00:39:01.640 your rate

00:39:02.080 and your monthly payment.

00:39:03.500 All you've got to do

00:39:04.080 is call American Financing

00:39:05.200 America's Home

00:39:06.020 for Home Loans.

00:39:07.120 Take advantage

00:39:07.660 of a free mortgage review.

00:39:10.040 It's absolutely free.

00:39:10.960 That means there's no pressure,

00:39:11.980 there's no obligation,

00:39:12.720 there's no upfront fees,

00:39:13.540 just a simple conversation

00:39:14.840 with a salary-based

00:39:15.760 mortgage consultant.

00:39:17.040 Somebody's going to

00:39:17.600 listen to and guide you

00:39:20.340 that achieves your goals.

00:39:22.540 From lower rates

00:39:23.160 to shorter terms,

00:39:23.920 even the ability

00:39:24.360 to access cash

00:39:25.300 from your equity,

00:39:26.500 they're ready

00:39:28.220 the best deal possible.

00:39:29.800 You can save up

00:39:30.340 to $1,000 a month,

00:39:31.540 may even skip

00:39:32.180 two mortgage payments,

00:39:33.260 creating greater

00:39:33.980 upfront savings.

00:39:35.060 And you can pre-qualify

00:39:43.200 Let's get now

00:39:44.000 to the comment section.

00:39:45.420 Do you know their name?

00:39:48.780 They're the sweet baby gang.

00:39:52.820 Matt Hayden says,

00:39:54.060 my family is from Mayfield

00:39:55.420 and my wife and kids

00:39:56.360 were down visiting

00:39:57.260 for a family wedding

00:39:58.220 while I stayed

00:39:58.860 in the Cincinnati area

00:39:59.800 to prep for law school finals.

00:40:01.840 Helpless is the only word

00:40:03.180 that describes

00:40:03.660 how I felt watching

00:40:04.460 the weather reports

00:40:05.140 while trying to stay

00:40:06.120 connected via phone.

00:40:07.580 They were 200 yards away

00:40:09.080 from the candle factory

00:40:10.020 that collapsed.

00:40:10.620 Thank God the storm

00:40:11.260 missed them.

00:40:11.880 No legislation

00:40:12.440 could have prevented this.

00:40:13.740 Nature does not respond

00:40:14.620 to our petty legislative goals.

00:40:16.400 That sounds horrifying.

00:40:17.640 Glad that your family

00:40:18.300 is safe.

00:40:19.480 I mean,

00:40:19.780 I can't imagine that

00:40:20.600 at all.

00:40:22.360 And that is,

00:40:23.640 like I said yesterday,

00:40:24.900 that's the feeling

00:40:26.180 of helplessness

00:40:26.760 that you get.

00:40:28.340 And what we experience

00:40:29.460 here in Nashville

00:40:29.940 is like nothing

00:40:30.480 compared to that

00:40:31.480 because,

00:40:31.920 you know,

00:40:32.600 we were spared,

00:40:33.720 thankfully.

00:40:34.740 But when the warning

00:40:36.840 comes in,

00:40:37.980 you go to a safe place,

00:40:39.280 you huddle down,

00:40:40.420 and, you know,

00:40:42.240 you can follow

00:40:42.760 all the recommendations

00:40:43.780 they give you

00:40:44.480 for how to respond

00:40:45.460 to a tornado warning,

00:40:46.700 and you should follow

00:40:47.240 those recommendations.

00:40:47.940 But if you survive,

00:40:52.060 there's going to be

00:40:52.780 an element of luck here

00:40:53.800 that the tornado

00:40:54.300 didn't happen to fall

00:40:55.160 right on top of you

00:40:55.820 because if it goes

00:40:57.000 right over where

00:40:57.720 you happen to be,

00:40:59.080 you're probably doomed.

00:41:02.140 Can we prevent that?

00:41:03.300 Can we stop that

00:41:03.940 through legislation?

00:41:04.720 I agree with you, Matt.

00:41:05.400 I don't think so.

00:41:07.080 Johnny says,

00:41:07.820 Matt,

00:41:08.020 I just realized

00:41:08.520 how perfect

00:41:09.220 children's books are

00:41:10.280 for you as a writer. 0.89

00:41:11.540 You're lazy, 0.98

00:41:12.400 and writing more than

00:41:13.120 30 pages is not possible.

00:41:15.040 Plus,

00:41:15.380 the text is really big

00:41:16.440 and bubbly,

00:41:16.900 so it's more like

00:41:17.500 writing two pages.

00:41:18.400 Keep it up, man.

00:41:20.100 You may be angling

00:41:20.900 to get banned from the show,

00:41:21.780 but I'm not going to disagree

00:41:22.660 with your characterization there.

00:41:24.720 It is a lot more fun

00:41:25.800 writing children's books,

00:41:26.500 I have to tell you.

00:41:27.160 A lot more fun.

00:41:28.900 It's not that I,

00:41:29.460 no, I can write real books.

00:41:30.560 I've written two of them so far.

00:41:32.420 It just takes me a long time.

00:41:34.540 Now, Ben Shapiro

00:41:35.500 can write a real book

00:41:36.920 that's like 70,000 words,

00:41:38.240 and he can write it

00:41:38.920 in two and a half weeks.

00:41:41.040 Okay, it takes me more

00:41:41.620 like two and a half years

00:41:42.340 to do that.

00:41:44.760 So I will not disagree

00:41:45.820 with your characterization.

00:41:47.060 You are correct,

00:41:47.800 but I guess I'm going to

00:41:48.860 ban you from the show anyway.

00:41:50.560 Todd says,

00:41:51.040 hey, Matt,

00:41:51.420 I'm pretty sure

00:41:51.880 West Side Story is woke

00:41:52.980 mostly because the Academy

00:41:54.040 is forcing productions

00:41:54.940 to fill diversity checkboxes

00:41:56.660 or else they can't win

00:41:57.740 best picture.

00:41:59.200 Yeah, that's what

00:42:00.180 I mentioned before.

00:42:01.580 That's part of it.

00:42:03.120 That's part of it.

00:42:04.180 Although,

00:42:04.540 even though we have to keep in mind

00:42:05.280 that the rules

00:42:05.760 from the Academy 0.93

00:42:06.320 are ridiculous, 0.99

00:42:07.860 but it's also 0.98

00:42:12.440 empty virtue signaling

00:42:13.960 as always.

00:42:15.180 So they've been written

00:42:16.360 in such a way

00:42:16.860 that they can be

00:42:17.300 easily circumvented.

00:42:19.140 That's how they're written.

00:42:21.180 So there's still no excuse

00:42:22.600 for all this woke stuff,

00:42:24.120 even if you are

00:42:24.860 a filmmaker

00:42:25.780 desperate to win

00:42:26.460 an Academy Award.

00:42:27.700 Anna says,

00:42:28.240 so my thoughts

00:42:28.700 on the cancellation today.

00:42:30.020 Why would you be offended

00:42:31.240 somebody thought

00:42:31.920 you were a janitor?

00:42:32.860 It's a good job,

00:42:33.740 honest pay.

00:42:34.740 Aren't your assumptions

00:42:35.400 about this interaction

00:42:36.140 offensive to janitors?

00:42:37.160 Why do you assume

00:42:38.380 the person is being racist 0.55

00:42:39.460 instead of just not

00:42:40.220 particularly observant?

00:42:42.680 Yeah, that's a good point.

00:42:43.420 I thought about that afterwards.

00:42:44.220 I wish I'd mentioned it.

00:42:46.000 But there's also

00:42:46.520 an elitism here.

00:42:48.760 There's this basic assumption,

00:42:50.220 putting everything else aside

00:42:51.440 about how the story

00:42:52.280 is almost certainly fabricated,

00:42:55.320 but the underlying assumption

00:42:57.020 is that it's

00:42:58.400 insulting to be considered

00:43:00.740 a janitor

00:43:01.200 because janitors

00:43:01.760 are inferior to doctors.

00:43:05.400 So while trying to prove

00:43:07.040 the racism

00:43:07.720 of this fictional person,

00:43:09.820 he's only proving

00:43:10.500 that he is

00:43:11.140 an elitist himself.

00:43:14.400 John says,

00:43:14.980 100 kids die

00:43:15.760 in bicycle accidents

00:43:16.780 in a year.

00:43:18.860 Well, I haven't checked

00:43:19.560 the statistics myself,

00:43:20.700 but

00:43:20.840 if that's true,

00:43:23.780 that's interesting

00:43:24.280 because that's about

00:43:24.900 the number

00:43:25.340 that was cited

00:43:26.320 by Tony Fauci yesterday

00:43:28.320 for the number of kids,

00:43:29.380 I think between 5 and 11,

00:43:30.900 who've died from coronavirus

00:43:32.120 in about two years.

00:43:35.620 And yet,

00:43:37.060 and I'm sure this is why

00:43:38.240 you brought this up,

00:43:39.820 100 kids die

00:43:40.460 in bicycle accidents.

00:43:41.740 It's a terrible tragedy.

00:43:45.280 But yet,

00:43:45.840 parents will still

00:43:46.400 let their children

00:43:46.880 ride bikes.

00:43:49.540 You know,

00:43:50.020 I know that I will.

00:43:52.000 I love my kids.

00:43:52.440 Of course,

00:43:52.620 you make sure

00:43:52.980 they're wearing a helmet,

00:43:53.660 but you still let them

00:43:54.340 ride the bike,

00:43:55.600 even though there's a chance

00:43:56.900 with the helmet,

00:43:58.800 still,

00:43:59.340 there's a chance

00:43:59.980 of some horrific injury.

00:44:03.020 But you let them do that,

00:44:04.620 even for the sake

00:44:06.280 of riding a bike.

00:44:08.720 I mean,

00:44:08.920 you could take bikes,

00:44:11.900 you could take bicycles

00:44:12.840 away from kids,

00:44:14.380 and it'd be a shame

00:44:15.440 to do that,

00:44:16.020 but they could still

00:44:16.720 otherwise live

00:44:17.480 a mostly normal life.

00:44:20.320 Right?

00:44:20.740 You're not interfering

00:44:21.540 with your child's life

00:44:23.300 in any serious way

00:44:24.440 by taking the bicycle away.

00:44:27.180 Yet,

00:44:27.740 simply for the sake

00:44:28.740 of being able

00:44:29.180 to ride a bike,

00:44:29.980 and have a fun time

00:44:30.900 riding a bike,

00:44:31.520 you're willing

00:44:32.100 to take that risk.

00:44:36.200 Yet,

00:44:36.620 at the same time,

00:44:37.900 when there's

00:44:38.540 an even lower risk

00:44:39.740 of your kid

00:44:40.740 contracting COVID

00:44:41.580 and dying from it

00:44:42.620 while walking

00:44:43.740 around outside

00:44:44.480 or walking

00:44:45.100 through a supermarket,

00:44:45.940 you're still going to,

00:44:46.600 you're going to force

00:44:47.020 him to wear a mask,

00:44:48.160 which is a much

00:44:50.400 greater imposition

00:44:51.320 on him

00:44:51.780 than taking a bike away.

00:44:56.820 Greg says,

00:44:57.580 hey, Matt,

00:44:57.880 we just got Johnny

00:44:58.540 the Walrus yesterday,

00:44:59.220 and it's now

00:44:59.660 my son's favorite book

00:45:00.900 to read at night.

00:45:02.320 That would be

00:45:02.720 more significant

00:45:03.440 if I hadn't taken away

00:45:04.540 all other books

00:45:05.360 as they are all

00:45:05.980 worthless in comparison.

00:45:07.100 Well, thank you, Greg.

00:45:08.460 Finally,

00:45:08.840 someone is responding

00:45:09.540 the right way

00:45:10.000 to my book,

00:45:10.560 Johnny the Walrus,

00:45:11.180 which, by the way,

00:45:11.780 is on sale right now

00:45:12.600 at JohnnyTheWalrus.com.

00:45:16.940 And Cassandra says,

00:45:18.020 do you wear makeup

00:45:18.800 and use product

00:45:19.520 in your hair

00:45:20.040 while on the road?

00:45:20.740 Cassandra,

00:45:21.140 I've told you,

00:45:21.700 I don't know how many times

00:45:22.160 I've told you,

00:45:22.580 we don't talk about this.

00:45:23.240 It's not a subject

00:45:23.680 we talk about.

00:45:24.340 We're not going

00:45:24.600 to talk about it.

00:45:26.300 I don't talk about

00:45:27.020 the fact that

00:45:27.560 when I'm on the road,

00:45:28.340 my producer, Sean,

00:45:29.500 who's very much a man,

00:45:30.480 has to be the one

00:45:31.120 applying the makeup.

00:45:31.920 I'm also not going

00:45:32.360 to talk about the fact

00:45:32.940 that just a few minutes ago

00:45:34.300 when we were doing that

00:45:35.160 and the makeup

00:45:35.600 was being applied,

00:45:36.820 and I had this clip

00:45:38.200 from Sex and the City,

00:45:39.020 and so we were talking

00:45:39.940 about Sex and the City

00:45:40.620 while the makeup

00:45:41.700 was being applied

00:45:42.240 in this hotel room.

00:45:44.040 We're not going

00:45:44.560 to discuss that topic.

00:45:46.840 So you're banned

00:45:47.380 from the show.

00:45:47.760 The Daily Wire

00:45:49.300 is leading the charge

00:45:50.280 against the Biden administration's

00:45:51.600 tyrannical vaccine mandates.

00:45:52.900 Not only were we

00:45:53.800 the first in the nation

00:45:54.680 to sue the Biden administration

00:45:55.820 for their unconstitutional mandate,

00:45:58.380 but we're getting closer

00:45:59.400 to a million signatures

00:46:00.660 on our Do Not Comply petition

00:46:02.580 every single day.

00:46:03.680 Why?

00:46:04.300 Because people are realizing

00:46:05.500 that if we don't actively fight

00:46:07.000 for our freedom,

00:46:07.520 the government will take it.

00:46:09.560 We have a goal

00:46:10.140 of reaching one million signatures,

00:46:11.880 which would provide

00:46:12.580 a major boost

00:46:13.280 to our legal challenge,

00:46:14.740 and we're almost there.

00:46:16.580 We have over 850,000 signatures

00:46:19.080 so far,

00:46:19.740 but we need your help

00:46:20.960 to cross the finish line.

00:46:22.120 So please,

00:46:22.500 if you have not done it yet,

00:46:23.260 sign the petition

00:46:23.820 at dailywire.com

00:46:24.880 slash do not comply,

00:46:25.940 and then share our petition

00:46:27.220 with all of your friends

00:46:28.040 and family.

00:46:28.680 Let's send a message

00:46:29.460 so loud that the Biden administration

00:46:30.780 will be forced to hear it.

00:46:32.520 And also,

00:46:33.040 for all of you sweet babies

00:46:33.920 out there who have dreamed

00:46:34.880 of joining the Daily Wire team,

00:46:36.360 now's your chance.

00:46:37.140 We currently have

00:46:37.780 several open positions

00:46:38.820 that we are actively

00:46:39.600 working to fill,

00:46:40.720 the details of which

00:46:41.460 can be found

00:46:42.100 at dailywire.com

00:46:43.200 slash careers.

00:46:44.440 This week,

00:46:44.880 we're highlighting

00:46:45.340 the platform manager

00:46:46.780 opening with our

00:46:47.680 marketing department.

00:46:48.980 There is a mid-level

00:46:49.800 marketing manager role

00:46:50.760 that calls for someone

00:46:51.660 who is highly detail-oriented,

00:46:53.220 extremely analytical,

00:46:54.500 numbers-oriented,

00:46:55.420 and constantly looking

00:46:56.220 for ways to optimize.

00:46:57.780 Let's get a sweet baby 0.95

00:46:58.780 in management.

00:46:59.980 That should be our goal.

00:47:01.840 This is kind of

00:47:02.660 an infiltration

00:47:03.600 of the sweet baby gang.

00:47:06.480 A takeover,

00:47:07.680 an insurrection,

00:47:08.440 if you want to call it that,

00:47:09.380 of the Daily Wire itself

00:47:10.420 from the inside.

00:47:11.340 The platform manager

00:47:12.060 will be responsible

00:47:12.740 for creating and leading strategies

00:47:14.060 to grow the Daily Wire

00:47:15.040 and our talent's brand awareness,

00:47:16.840 as well as maintaining

00:47:17.540 all operations for the platform.

00:47:19.200 This is an in-office position

00:47:20.260 in Nashville, Tennessee.

00:47:21.040 If you or someone you know

00:47:21.920 could be the perfect fit

00:47:22.820 for this opportunity

00:47:23.380 or any of our open positions,

00:47:24.800 we're accepting applications

00:47:25.780 through our career pages

00:47:26.780 at dailywire.com slash careers.

00:47:29.600 Now let's get to

00:47:30.320 our daily cancellation.

00:47:35.020 Today, we're canceling

00:47:36.000 everybody who has anything

00:47:37.060 to do with this story

00:47:38.400 out of Newburgh

00:47:39.180 United Methodist Church

00:47:40.400 in Indiana.

00:47:41.760 Religionnews.com reports,

00:47:43.900 when Pastor Craig Duke

00:47:45.120 appeared in drag

00:47:46.080 on the HBO reality show

00:47:47.260 We're Here,

00:47:48.600 he knew that some members

00:47:49.560 of his United Methodist congregation

00:47:50.900 would appreciate the episode

00:47:52.240 and that others

00:47:53.000 wouldn't even watch it.

00:47:54.620 He also knew some members

00:47:55.920 of his congregation

00:47:56.600 support the full inclusion

00:47:57.880 of LGBTQ Christians

00:47:59.500 in the church

00:47:59.920 and others don't,

00:48:00.920 and that would make

00:48:01.340 his performance on the show

00:48:02.160 a challenging experience,

00:48:03.540 but he didn't think

00:48:04.500 it would cost him his job.

00:48:07.020 Now before we go on,

00:48:08.720 reflect on the fact

00:48:09.420 that a pastor appeared

00:48:10.500 in drag on a drag reality show

00:48:12.520 and based on his many years

00:48:14.100 of experience in the church

00:48:15.080 had assumed

00:48:16.160 that it wouldn't cost him

00:48:17.360 his job.

00:48:18.880 So before we analyze

00:48:19.720 Pastor Craig's decision making,

00:48:21.820 what does that say

00:48:22.400 about the church

00:48:23.080 that he felt comfortable

00:48:24.080 doing this

00:48:24.680 and thought it would be okay?

00:48:27.000 What does it say

00:48:27.420 about the state of Christianity

00:48:28.460 in the West?

00:48:30.160 But we'll continue.

00:48:30.900 It says,

00:48:31.120 The emails from congregants

00:48:32.060 began not long after

00:48:33.140 Duke's episode of

00:48:34.100 We're Here

00:48:34.820 aired on November 8th.

00:48:36.520 The pastor said

00:48:37.140 the show follows

00:48:37.760 renowned drag artists

00:48:38.820 Eureka O'Hara,

00:48:41.080 Shangela,

00:48:42.080 and Bob the Drag Queen 0.99

00:48:43.180 as they travel

00:48:43.780 small cities and towns

00:48:44.680 across the United States

00:48:45.400 transforming locals

00:48:46.760 into drag queens. 1.00

00:48:48.300 Duke accepted an invitation

00:48:49.220 to appear in an episode

00:48:50.040 filmed in the Evansville area

00:48:51.260 because he said

00:48:51.820 he wanted to better empathize

00:48:53.020 with LGBTQ people

00:48:54.320 in his community

00:48:55.280 and to express support

00:48:56.420 for his daughter

00:48:57.080 who recently came out

00:48:58.400 as pansexual.

00:49:00.480 Another quick pause here.

00:49:03.720 The way to support

00:49:04.820 your pansexual daughter 0.94

00:49:06.100 is to tell her 0.98

00:49:06.880 that pansexual

00:49:07.960 isn't a thing.

00:49:09.380 Okay, it's made up.

00:49:11.140 You might as well say

00:49:11.760 that your daughter

00:49:12.180 came out as a centaur

00:49:13.360 or as a tooth fairy 0.85

00:49:14.540 because pansexual means

00:49:16.860 someone who is

00:49:17.980 quote,

00:49:19.060 gender blind.

00:49:20.080 That's how they would

00:49:20.660 describe themselves.

00:49:21.940 Gender blind 0.98

00:49:22.580 in their sexual attraction,

00:49:23.640 meaning that a person's sex

00:49:25.400 does not factor into

00:49:26.740 whether the pansexual

00:49:27.920 finds them sexually attractive

00:49:29.320 or not.

00:49:30.080 But you see the problem here.

00:49:31.460 You can't have sexual attraction

00:49:33.200 apart from sex.

00:49:35.080 That makes no sense.

00:49:36.800 There are people

00:49:37.260 who experience sexual attraction

00:49:38.500 to both sexes.

00:49:40.680 Those are called bisexuals, 0.99

00:49:42.560 which is why we don't need

00:49:44.720 this other term,

00:49:46.860 pansexual.

00:49:48.420 Except the pansexual 0.98

00:49:49.480 claims to be attracted

00:49:50.420 to no sex,

00:49:51.340 claiming that sex is irrelevant.

00:49:52.700 But again,

00:49:52.980 that can't be true.

00:49:54.300 It's like saying

00:49:55.000 that you're hungry

00:49:55.600 and you want pancakes,

00:49:56.560 but you don't desire

00:49:57.960 the pancakes

00:49:58.560 because they're food.

00:49:59.960 You're food blind.

00:50:01.880 It just makes no sense.

00:50:03.280 Okay, anyway,

00:50:04.300 continuing.

00:50:05.300 It says,

00:50:05.760 some of the messages

00:50:06.200 the pastor received

00:50:06.900 were positive.

00:50:07.800 Enough were so negative

00:50:08.640 that at the insistence

00:50:09.820 of Newburgh's

00:50:10.460 Staff Parish Relations Committee,

00:50:11.780 Duke said,

00:50:12.400 he requested a new assignment

00:50:13.520 from Bishop Julius C. Trimble

00:50:15.220 of the Indiana Conference

00:50:16.220 of United Methodist Church.

00:50:17.620 It's not unusual

00:50:18.380 for United Methodist bishops

00:50:19.440 to reassign pastors

00:50:21.000 regularly to different churches

00:50:22.020 or to other leadership positions.

00:50:23.660 Those appointments

00:50:24.120 generally take effect in July.

00:50:26.200 In the meantime,

00:50:27.720 Duke planned to lead

00:50:28.640 a six-week Bible study

00:50:29.900 about sexuality at the church,

00:50:31.300 something he hoped

00:50:31.860 would create dialogue

00:50:32.800 within the congregation.

00:50:34.240 But another negative,

00:50:35.500 bullying,

00:50:35.900 attacking email

00:50:36.700 from a church person

00:50:37.620 arrived November 14th

00:50:38.640 that flipped the tide

00:50:39.420 for the pastor.

00:50:40.460 He said,

00:50:41.520 it just got to the point

00:50:42.440 where the conflict,

00:50:43.220 the anger grew too much.

00:50:44.580 And so for my mental health,

00:50:46.120 for my mental health,

00:50:47.020 I started to back away

00:50:47.900 and I told my district superintendent

00:50:49.560 the conflict was so much,

00:50:51.160 it was at such a level

00:50:51.940 from some that I was unable

00:50:53.400 to be an effective leader.

00:50:55.380 Okay, so in the end,

00:50:56.860 the drag queen pastor 0.97

00:50:58.380 wasn't even fired.

00:51:01.460 He chose to leave

00:51:02.580 for his own sake,

00:51:03.980 for his own mental health

00:51:05.100 is why he left.

00:51:06.700 And I don't doubt 0.98

00:51:08.240 that he's mentally unhealthy. 0.94

00:51:09.580 I don't doubt that.

00:51:10.780 But that was the case

00:51:11.500 long before this, clearly.

00:51:13.460 By the way,

00:51:13.860 if you're wondering

00:51:14.460 if we're going to play a clip

00:51:16.460 of the drag queen store

00:51:18.360 with the drag pastor, 0.56

00:51:20.120 well, you're in luck

00:51:20.700 because here it is.

00:51:24.260 Reverend Craig Duke,

00:51:26.720 the only reverend

00:51:28.480 that I would ever want

00:51:29.560 to preach at me at a church.

00:51:30.860 I think we need to find a way

00:51:31.940 to support, equip, and empower.

00:51:34.460 We do that not with our condemnation,

00:51:36.580 but with our love.

00:51:37.960 So we ended up doing this thing

00:51:39.340 with the performances with Craig

00:51:40.840 where he started

00:51:42.020 in this fabulous choir robe,

00:51:44.300 preacher look,

00:51:45.100 where he was preaching

00:51:45.800 to his congregation

00:51:46.620 about love,

00:51:48.140 and then it tore away

00:51:49.240 into Kesha's.

00:51:50.640 We are who we are.

00:51:51.900 It was so good.

00:51:54.080 We fully had to do

00:51:55.080 a lift with Craig,

00:51:56.140 and he was so paranoid

00:51:57.380 that we weren't going

00:51:57.980 to be able to lift him up.

00:51:59.160 But Mama, 0.99

00:51:59.660 we picked her up

00:52:00.400 like the only dainty flower.

00:52:02.440 Also, Craig knew

00:52:04.020 every single word

00:52:05.920 to his song 0.68

00:52:06.580 because he's dope

00:52:07.980 and super fire, 0.96

00:52:09.120 and he hangs Jesus

00:52:10.040 on his neck of less,

00:52:11.240 us, us, us.

00:52:13.320 You know,

00:52:13.840 I think that there was

00:52:14.700 such a campy element

00:52:15.780 that Craig thought

00:52:16.540 he had to bring to it.

00:52:17.540 And what I did

00:52:18.060 is I pushed Craig

00:52:18.780 to realize that drag's 1.00

00:52:19.800 not a joke.

00:52:21.400 You know,

00:52:21.700 gender expression,

00:52:23.200 fluidity, and art,

00:52:24.540 it's never a joke

00:52:25.520 for people that need it.

00:52:26.820 So Reverend Duke

00:52:27.980 really wanted to do

00:52:28.640 this drag number

00:52:29.360 to show the world,

00:52:30.900 like, I'm willing to walk

00:52:32.160 in the shoes

00:52:32.860 of the queer people

00:52:33.760 that I love,

00:52:34.680 that I enjoy.

00:52:35.340 And Mama, 1.00

00:52:36.200 he opened up,

00:52:37.320 he performed,

00:52:38.420 and sass and frass,

00:52:39.520 he was a hard-working

00:52:40.520 little diva.

00:52:43.420 Okay.

00:52:44.480 Drag is not a joke,

00:52:45.640 he says.

00:52:47.220 So let's,

00:52:47.820 sure,

00:52:48.020 let's go back

00:52:48.640 and look at this screenshot.

00:52:50.120 Just a quick,

00:52:51.200 quick look at this,

00:52:51.780 quick freeze frame.

00:52:53.900 He says that this

00:52:54.620 is not a joke.

00:52:55.360 There we go.

00:52:58.320 Yeah,

00:52:58.860 not a joke,

00:52:59.460 he says.

00:53:00.400 You've got a pastor

00:53:01.620 dressed like Dolly Parton's

00:53:03.100 meth-addicted cousin

00:53:04.140 dancing next to Ursula

00:53:06.320 from The Little Mermaid.

00:53:08.240 But this is not a joke.

00:53:09.860 And he's right,

00:53:10.600 you know,

00:53:10.760 it's not a comedy,

00:53:11.700 really.

00:53:12.000 It's a horror show.

00:53:14.800 It's a joke

00:53:15.680 in the same way

00:53:16.600 that the end

00:53:17.700 of the movie

00:53:18.140 Psycho is a joke.

00:53:20.600 But remember

00:53:21.140 something else

00:53:21.960 that the drag queen said. 1.00

00:53:22.800 He said that

00:53:23.300 Pastor Duke

00:53:24.640 is the only pastor

00:53:26.600 he'd want preaching

00:53:27.360 to him,

00:53:27.840 or at him,

00:53:28.440 as he put it,

00:53:29.420 if he ever went to church,

00:53:30.460 which, of course,

00:53:31.060 he doesn't.

00:53:32.560 But he's the only one.

00:53:34.180 That's the kind of pastor

00:53:35.140 I would want.

00:53:36.400 Now, that's not a good thing.

00:53:37.520 Okay?

00:53:37.720 If you're a pastor,

00:53:38.840 that's not the kind of thing

00:53:40.780 you want to hear

00:53:41.580 about yourself.

00:53:43.360 If somebody

00:53:44.100 who hates your faith

00:53:45.300 and hates Christian values

00:53:46.640 and opposes everything

00:53:48.520 that you're supposed

00:53:49.240 to stand for

00:53:49.980 says that you're

00:53:50.900 the only pastor

00:53:51.840 he'd want preaching

00:53:52.660 to him,

00:53:53.280 that means you're

00:53:54.220 not doing your job.

00:53:56.140 It means that you're

00:53:56.740 tickling ears,

00:53:57.880 right?

00:53:58.100 You're whispering

00:53:58.880 sweet nothings.

00:54:00.420 You're telling the sinner 0.85

00:54:01.760 what he wants

00:54:02.780 to hear,

00:54:03.360 or at least

00:54:03.860 you're not telling him

00:54:04.960 what he doesn't

00:54:06.160 want to hear.

00:54:07.820 You're making him

00:54:08.840 comfortable in his sin,

00:54:11.540 in his pride.

00:54:13.400 And that's really

00:54:13.960 what all that is about.

00:54:15.380 I mean,

00:54:16.160 what you saw there,

00:54:17.140 the drag show.

00:54:19.480 It's really,

00:54:19.960 it's a celebration

00:54:20.840 of vanity and pride

00:54:22.040 and other things as well,

00:54:24.300 but mostly vanity

00:54:25.260 and pride.

00:54:25.660 what you're not doing

00:54:29.440 and what you should

00:54:29.960 be doing as a pastor

00:54:30.760 is spurring him

00:54:32.760 to confront

00:54:33.620 and go to war

00:54:35.080 against precisely

00:54:36.160 those parts of himself

00:54:37.140 that he wants you

00:54:38.240 to affirm.

00:54:41.180 That's not what

00:54:41.900 pastoring is supposed

00:54:42.680 to be about.

00:54:43.220 It's not supposed

00:54:43.560 to be about affirming

00:54:44.420 people in their sin

00:54:45.420 or making them

00:54:45.840 feel comfortable

00:54:46.500 in their lifestyle choices.

00:54:51.240 You're supposed

00:54:51.800 to be encouraging,

00:54:53.640 causing,

00:54:56.440 propelling people

00:54:57.300 to confront

00:54:58.080 those parts

00:54:59.820 of their life,

00:55:00.780 especially those parts

00:55:01.880 of their life

00:55:02.220 that are keeping them

00:55:02.960 away from virtue

00:55:04.020 and holiness.

00:55:07.240 Now, I mean,

00:55:07.740 obviously,

00:55:08.280 if a pastor

00:55:08.780 is performing

00:55:09.520 in drag on HBO,

00:55:11.200 he's gone astray,

00:55:12.120 so maybe there's

00:55:13.620 no point in pointing

00:55:15.060 this out.

00:55:15.460 It's rather obvious.

00:55:16.440 But it is instructive

00:55:17.560 in revealing

00:55:18.020 that the head drag 1.00

00:55:19.420 honcho

00:55:19.960 said what he said.

00:55:21.700 that this is

00:55:23.660 the kind of pastor

00:55:24.240 I want.

00:55:24.700 This is the pastor

00:55:25.180 I like.

00:55:26.860 Because you often

00:55:27.600 hear certain

00:55:28.260 so-called religious

00:55:29.160 leaders praised

00:55:30.380 by people

00:55:31.440 who hate

00:55:31.860 the religion

00:55:32.380 that he's supposed

00:55:33.340 to be leading.

00:55:35.260 And this is why.

00:55:36.540 This is where it goes.

00:55:38.440 And that's why

00:55:39.280 Pastor Craig Duke

00:55:40.620 is canceled.

00:55:42.920 And his church

00:55:43.600 is canceled.

00:55:44.080 And obviously,

00:55:44.680 that drag queen 1.00

00:55:45.320 is also canceled.

00:55:45.920 They're all canceled.

00:55:47.080 And we'll leave it

00:55:47.600 there for today.

00:55:48.600 Thanks for watching.

00:55:49.240 Thanks for listening.
