00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, protests are growing louder over the bill in Florida which bans the
00:00:04.140 sexual indoctrination of kids in elementary school. The left has managed to garner this
00:00:07.660 much outrage by simply lying about what's in the bill. Today we'll sift through the nonsense and
00:00:12.020 get to the truth and we'll read the actual bill itself, which is a bold step if you can imagine
00:00:15.520 it. Also, as gas prices skyrocket across the country, Biden announces a plan to ban Russian
00:00:21.340 oil, but the new oil import plan isn't much of an improvement. We'll talk about that. Kamala Harris
00:00:26.280 also tries to be inspirational again and it doesn't go well. Serena Williams is the victim
00:00:30.560 of racism, or so she claims. A police chief in Florida is fired for anti-white bias. There's a
00:00:36.240 new one. In our daily cancellation, we'll talk about the body positivity advocate who inadvertently
00:00:40.940 exposes an ugly truth, which is that the body positivity movement is actually fueled by hatred
00:00:46.340 towards men. I'll explain why. All of that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.
00:00:56.280 Now is the time to take advantage of low mortgage rates before they're gone. As each day passes,
00:01:04.660 we don't know exactly what to expect. Could they drop a little bit? Maybe, but it's not worth it to
00:01:09.840 wait and see. You can lock into a great deal right now by calling American Financing, America's Home
00:01:14.360 for Home Loans. What you got to do is take advantage of a free mortgage review and see if you can save up
00:01:18.880 to $1,000 a month plus tens of thousands long term because there's more to a refinance than just a
00:01:25.060 lower rate. But you are saving money the entire time. And with everything else going on right now,
00:01:29.340 gas prices and everything else, you got to save money wherever you can. You can also shorten your
00:01:33.200 term or pay off high interest debt. Just be sure you act soon. The Federal Reserve meets late next
00:01:38.640 week, and that can mean higher rates this month. You don't want to miss out on what's available right
00:01:43.140 now. So you want to act now, act immediately. And you can do that by calling 866-569-4711.

00:01:59.320 The outrage and hysteria in Florida over the so-called Don't Say Gay Bill has reached a fever
00:02:04.680 pitch as the Florida Senate began debating the legislation on Monday. Though perhaps outrage and
00:02:11.480 hysteria is not exactly the right phrase here. In fact, the backlash is all carefully scripted and
00:02:17.600 cultivated. Some of the anger might be genuine. I don't know. Some of it, a small portion of it.
00:02:24.040 But even the genuine anger is rooted in carefully disseminated propaganda. And everything else is
00:02:30.360 just choreographed. Nonsense. We've seen plenty of false narratives take hold before, obviously.
00:02:35.760 There's a new one every day somewhere. As you know, every time a bell rings, a false narrative gets its
00:02:40.120 wings in this country. But the pure, blatant falseness of this particular false narrative manages to set
00:02:45.720 itself apart, even amid the torrential downpour of utter bullcrap from the media on a daily basis.
00:02:51.500 Speaking of bullcrap, Saturday Night Live kicked things off this week with another hilarious comedy
00:02:57.380 skit wherein no jokes were told, nothing funny happened, and Kate McKinnon continued to prove that
00:03:03.760 probably Christopher Hitchens was right about female comedians. Anyway, watch this.
00:03:08.660 Florida's controversial Don't Say Gay Bill passed its final state Senate committee. Here to comment is Kate McKinnon.
00:03:15.000 Hi, Kate McKinnon. Thank you for being here.
00:03:28.820 Well, yeah, I'm sorry to barge in here like out of costume. I just, I heard about this law and I
00:03:34.280 think it's amazing.
00:03:36.460 Oh, you do?
00:03:37.620 Yeah, because, you know, when I was in middle school in the 90s, I was some, I was kind of like tortured by the
00:03:45.860 constant use of the word gay. Like, you know, that's so gay or, ew, you're gay. It just, it made me feel
00:03:51.780 horrible. And to hear that Ron DeSantis has, has taken a stand and said, no, you cannot say gay in school
00:04:00.160 anymore. I'm just like, I'm so jazzed. And in Florida, of all places. I mean.
00:04:07.320 Yeah. Yeah. So, so actually, I feel like there's been a misunderstanding. See, the law actually means
00:04:13.820 that you can't acknowledge that gay exists at all.
00:04:21.600 Can we all just stop pretending this woman is funny? Can we at least do that? Can we agree on
00:04:26.400 that as a society? I don't believe that people actually find her funny at all.
00:04:30.120 And every year she has a new impression. Everyone says, have you seen the Kate McKinnon impression of
00:04:36.240 Hillary Clinton? It's, it's just her. It's just her being herself, which is, which is very unfunny.
00:04:41.880 This is also the one, I think Kate McKinnon, wasn't she the one who did the, after Hillary Clinton
00:04:46.560 lost, she, she did the, she, she played the piano while crying, you know, as Hillary Clinton.
00:04:53.640 And then she sang hallelujah or something like that. I think, I'm pretty sure that was her.
00:04:56.780 Anyway, she says, what? That's a good question because everything that Scarlett Johansson's
00:05:03.500 henpecked husband just said there was totally false. But you wouldn't know that if you listen
00:05:08.320 to the protesters who have been in Tallahassee screaming about a fictional bill that stops
00:05:13.240 them from saying the word gay in school. I mean, people actually believe this. This is what,
00:05:16.940 this is what people believe that there's a, that there's a bill in Florida that says you're simply
00:05:21.260 not allowed to say the word gay ever in, in any school in Florida. Um, floridapolitics.com has
00:05:27.960 the report on what these protesters are doing. It says a group of Florida students took to the
00:05:31.980 Capitol steps in Tallahassee Monday morning in a last ditch peel, a plea rather with state senators
00:05:37.580 to vote down a controversial measure dubbed the don't say gay bill by its critics. Students chanted,
00:05:43.140 we say gay and planned sit-in protests throughout the day. As the Senate prepares to take up the
00:05:48.280 controversial HB 1557, which proponents say would bolster parental rights, but opponents say
00:05:53.800 it would create a dangerous environment for students. Our students have no choice but to be
00:05:58.960 here. Transgender educator Cyrus Bresick said their lives are being politicized. They're being actively
00:06:04.840 threatened and our classrooms are being set up as the traps. Meanwhile, Democrats in Florida have been
00:06:11.720 comporting themselves with all the dignity that you might expect. Um, let's see what they're up to down
00:06:17.680 there. Yes, that's right. Democrats are now at the point where they're literally just running
00:06:31.260 through the halls, shouting the word gay. This is all they have to offer the world. This is their
00:06:36.540 whole party in a nutshell. This is, this is all they got. They have nothing to say, but gay. And
00:06:43.040 they say it all the time everywhere, feeling little need to say any other words in between that word.
00:06:48.280 So I appreciate how they're just cutting to the chase now, at least down in Florida for stop
00:06:51.820 pretending that you have anything else is just, just repeat the word over and over again, because
00:06:54.940 that's all you got. This is all the Democrat party is now. You can tell why so many Democrats
00:06:59.260 were disappointed with Joe Biden's state of the union address. It was a horrible speech, but that
00:07:03.340 wasn't the problem for them. All they wanted him to do was stand there for 90 minutes and just say the
00:07:08.280 word gay over and over again, gay, gay. Did I mention gay also trans trans and gay and gay and
00:07:13.440 trans the state of the union is super gay. That's what they wanted to hear. Now, given that this is
00:07:19.480 literally all Democrats have to say or offer, um, you can see why they'd treat any bill preventing
00:07:26.000 them from saying the word gay as the apocalypse, because that means that they can't speak anymore.
00:07:30.180 They can't say anything if they can't say the word gay. The only problem is that no such bill exists,
00:07:35.480 but that didn't stop the left from demanding that every corporation in existence denounce the bill.
00:07:41.780 And many have, but, uh, Disney had remained conspicuously silent up until now and, and
00:07:47.980 pressure continued to mount because Disney, of course, they're down there in Florida. And, um,
00:07:52.080 and so the left was saying, this is, this is what we see. Of course, is anytime the left's upset about
00:07:56.580 something, um, they're not just going to be upset about it themselves. They need everyone else to also
00:08:01.500 be upset about it. And, um, and they needed Disney to be upset about it. Finally, Bob Chapik,
00:08:07.300 who's the new CEO of Disney sent out a memo to staff saying on Friday, I met with a small group
00:08:13.460 of Disney LGBTQ plus leaders to discuss controversial legislation pending in Florida
00:08:18.400 that would impact their communities. I want to thank them for a meaningful, illuminating,
00:08:22.860 and at times deeply moving conversation. I told the group, I would write to the entire company with
00:08:27.640 my thoughts on the issues we discussed. I wish every one of our employees could have heard not
00:08:31.640 just the passionate voices in the room, but the bravery, honesty, and pride those voices expressed.
00:08:37.180 It is a conversation I will never forget. I want to be crystal clear. I and the entire leadership
00:08:41.660 team unequivocally stand in support of our LGBTQ plus employees, their families and their communities
00:08:46.580 and, uh, et cetera, so forth, blah, blah, blah. Now, and he goes on for, for like pages and pages
00:08:52.480 about how awesome and wonderful and beautiful and, uh, courageous LGBT people are, but that wasn't
00:08:58.040 enough. Of course, you know, even that was not enough. Old Bob should have just sent a memo with
00:09:04.800 the word gay written 10,000 times. And instead he used other words besides that. And that has led
00:09:10.100 Disney employees to now speak out in anger, which is something that we've seen, you know, we saw this
00:09:14.880 with, with Netflix. Now we're seeing with Disney. One of them is gay Disney animator, um, a guy named
00:09:20.960 Ben Seaman, who posted a now viral video calling out his employer. Listen, anytime you're different
00:09:28.960 in school, uh, you're probably prone to get picked on and you're searching for answers, wondering if
00:09:33.580 there is something wrong with you. And luckily I had a teacher that was very kind and talked to me
00:09:38.240 about it and let me know that there wasn't anything wrong with being gay. And it made a huge impact on
00:09:42.720 my life. If the don't say gay bill passes in Florida, that would have never happened to me. I would
00:09:47.780 have been a left alone and scared and LGBT kids are going to be left alone and scared and hurt by
00:09:53.220 this bill. And teachers that are gay and married to partners won't even be able to talk about them.
00:09:58.500 They're going to have to pretend that LGBTQ people don't even exist. This bill is going to hurt kids.
00:10:04.040 I love working for Disney. I've loved working for Disney. It's an amazing company that I've loved since
00:10:09.260 I was a kid and they make amazing movies and television specials and they're starting to include
00:10:13.260 more LGBT characters. I've let kids know that, you know, if being gay is all right, but when they
00:10:19.100 have donated to the sponsors and co-sponsors of the don't say gay bill and they have made no position
00:10:25.060 against this bill and they are going to continue donating to these politicians, they are essentially
00:10:30.000 saying that this bill is okay.
00:10:32.760 Oh yes. The famously anti-gay Disney, you know, Disney, which, which puts, uh, four gay people
00:10:38.700 and seven trans people in every single movie or TV show they make now is, uh, as we all know, I mean,
00:10:43.520 they're, they're secretly very anti-gay. These are, these are right wing social conservative
00:10:48.800 extremists. Now I understand this is something of a moot point to the people disseminating this
00:10:52.740 narrative, but I do feel behoved to mention that, that, that nothing, uh, Seaman said there bears any
00:10:59.020 relation to the truth whatsoever. Seaman was completely wrong. Um, but they didn't look, he didn't just pull
00:11:04.860 this out of thin air. This has been the result of a wildly successful branding campaign by the LGBT
00:11:11.660 left, including organizations like Equality Florida, which put out this ad, um, about the
00:11:17.320 bill a few months ago. Watch this. All right, Chelsea, you're up.
00:11:28.840 Tell us about your hero. I have two heroes, my two moms.
00:11:34.860 So there you go. Um, according to Equality Florida, no child at any age can even so much
00:11:55.860 as mention gayness, even when discussing their own families or an alarm will go off and their
00:12:01.840 teacher will be immediately fired. So there's a, they're monitoring the classroom and there's
00:12:07.560 some sort of censor. And if you say the word gay, an alarm goes off. Now, when I am theocratic
00:12:13.980 fascist dictator of the country, we may have policies like that in schools, but right now,
00:12:18.780 nothing like that is being proposed. And also, of course, there's a sign, uh, that will hang in
00:12:23.180 every classroom saying state approved topics only. Of course, that part is actually true in a sense
00:12:27.880 because public schools are government schools. So I like how they put that there. Like it's
00:12:31.800 something sinister. Oh, state approved topics only. Every topic is state approved. The schools
00:12:37.160 are run by the state after all, but the rest is of course horse manure. And to prove that I need
00:12:42.900 only do something completely radical, um, that will seem radical anyway. And that is, that is to refer
00:12:48.720 to the text of the actual bill itself. Now, the first thing you'll notice when you, uh, actually read
00:12:55.200 the don't say gay bill, if you do read it, which of course none of the critics have is that the word
00:12:58.960 gay does not appear anywhere within the bill. Now you, you might wonder how a bill can forbid a word
00:13:04.260 from being spoken without mentioning the word that it is for bill forbidding. That doesn't really make
00:13:08.980 a lot of sense, right? Uh, well it can't. And this bill doesn't, here's what this bill does say.
00:13:13.520 Okay. I'm going to read it to you. It says classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties
00:13:17.980 on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade three or in a
00:13:24.500 manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with
00:13:28.260 state standards. So this is classroom instruction by school personnel. Um, and it's specifically,
00:13:37.460 we're talking about kindergarten through grade three, three, that's it. Okay. That's the relevant
00:13:42.620 portion of the bill. It specifically targets very young students pre-k through third grade and only
00:13:48.460 forbids the teachers from instructing the kids about sexual orientation and gender identity.
00:13:53.740 It does not at all restrict what the students say. And it doesn't restrict what the teachers can say
00:13:59.680 aside from official classroom instruction. In other words, there's nothing in this bill preventing a
00:14:04.060 child from mentioning their gay parents or, or even preventing a teacher from mentioning their gay
00:14:09.720 partner. Though I'm not sure why teachers would need to be having those conversations with students
00:14:13.220 anyway, but there's nothing in the bill that at any point that it would, that has ever targeted that
00:14:18.200 or that would ever prevent that. Um, bill has nothing to do with it. It only restricts classroom
00:14:24.220 instruction by preventing lessons about gender identity and sexual orientation for, for kids who
00:14:30.480 are eight years old or younger. So the real problem with this bill, and I have a problem with it too. The
00:14:35.800 real problem is that it only pertains to kids that young. It should go, this should, this should apply
00:14:40.780 to all grades because there's no grade or age where it's necessary or appropriate for teachers to
00:14:46.820 instruct kids about these topics. You know, the, the, the Florida GOP, they basically extended an olive
00:14:54.300 branch to the left by limiting, um, the scope of the bill in this arbitrary way. And as expected,
00:15:00.520 the left took the olive branch, poured lighter fluid on it and set it on fire. That's the way it always
00:15:06.280 goes. They're not interested in any kind of, um, compromise. Now you thought that, that, well,
00:15:13.700 they'd be okay with it because like, obviously any rational, sane person would be okay with saying
00:15:18.360 that we're not going to instruct about sexual orientation or gender identity to people, to kids
00:15:23.480 in third grade or younger. And so you, you try to keep it there and limit it and you figure, well,
00:15:28.860 no one could have a problem with that. Of course they have a problem with that. What's actually
00:15:32.700 happening here? In reality, as the bill only forbids the sexual indoctrination of very young
00:15:38.980 children, we can see again, the Democrats are so desperate to sexually indoctrinate and groom young
00:15:45.560 children that anything preventing them from doing so is like the apocalypse. And actually this is the
00:15:52.180 worst thing you could do. They might actually be a little bit less upset if you only forbid it from,
00:15:58.160 let's say, uh, uh, eighth grade through 12th grade. You know, if you hit middle school and,
00:16:05.100 and high school, I think they'd probably be less upset because they know that if they want to get
00:16:12.420 in there and brainwash kids, the easiest and best time to do it for them is at the youngest possible
00:16:18.100 ages. Um, they, and they truly believe that they have a right to do it. Not just that they're right
00:16:26.480 in doing it, but they also have a right to do it. Not just that they will, or that they want to,
00:16:31.240 but they feel entitled to because they're predators and liars. And we don't need to be on defense about
00:16:37.920 this. They're the ones who are openly in favor of grooming children and are filled with satanic fury
00:16:45.960 when you try to prevent it. And that's why we should oppose them with every fiber of our being.
00:16:52.080 Now let's get to our five headlines.
00:16:59.820 All right. First of all, uh, happy international. What is a woman day? I wanted to, uh, it is
00:17:05.140 international women's day, by the way. I don't know if you, if you have celebrated yet, but I wanted
00:17:09.300 to extend the offer that, um, I put out there on Twitter this morning, cause I'm getting increasingly
00:17:14.460 desperate. And so this is a real offer. Um, I'm offering this. I will give $10 million in honor
00:17:21.760 of what is international women's day. I will give $10 million to any leftist who can define the word
00:17:26.900 woman today, 10 million. It's on the table, not literally offer subject to change without notice,
00:17:33.540 but that's what I'm, that's what I'm putting on the table. Just, just one for international women's
00:17:38.480 day. Can you do it? We'll see. Um, I'll let you know if anyone comes through now, this is from
00:17:43.740 the daily wire. It says the national average price of gasoline set a new all-time record on
00:17:47.680 Monday, blowing past the previous record that was set more than a decade ago, 2008 gas buddy
00:17:52.800 reported the national average price of gasoline. The U S today broke the existing record, rewriting
00:17:56.940 the all-time high to today's $4. Uh, it's about, you know, 4.1 per gallon. Uh, the previous all-time
00:18:03.660 high was set back in 2008, um, just ahead of the U S great recession and housing crisis. So there's
00:18:08.960 some good news. Gas buddy, a platform that collects data on fuel prices to save consumers
00:18:14.340 money added that the price of diesel was likely to break the record, um, of 4.8 per gallon in the
00:18:21.180 next two weeks. And that's where we are with gases. And it's, there's, there's no sign of it,
00:18:27.120 of any improvement. You know, oftentimes we had these big spikes and they go back down,
00:18:32.360 but we could be looking at this for days, weeks, months, who knows, maybe even longer.
00:18:36.020 Um, and this raises a lot of questions. A lot of people have questions. And Jen Psaki was asked
00:18:40.760 about the gas prices. And, uh, I don't think your answer was very helpful, but here's what
00:18:44.100 she said yesterday. Um, I want to read to you, if I could, Jen, some comments from people we've
00:18:49.840 met at gas stations today. One woman saying, I just never imagined to see the cost of gas be this
00:18:55.160 high. Another said, it's a huge stressor to my financial situation, a huge stressor. It's kind
00:19:00.920 of like something I've stressed about, like during the day, will I be able to afford gas? How much money
00:19:04.860 do I have? What is the White House? What is the president's message to Americans who are going
00:19:09.440 to the gas station today and seeing prices so high? Well, the president's message is that he is going
00:19:16.100 to do everything we can, everything he can to reduce the impact on the American people, including, uh,
00:19:22.420 the price of gas at the tank. What is also true is that because of the actions of President Putin,
00:19:28.560 because he invaded a sovereign country, that created instability in the markets. That is something
00:19:34.120 the president talked about even before, uh, Russia and President Putin move forward with their
00:19:39.240 actions. Uh, but we have already taken steps. The president has already taken steps, historic
00:19:44.240 release from the strategic petroleum reserve, one that's done in a coordinated fashion. And clearly
00:19:49.020 we will continue to have conversations with large oil producers and suppliers around the world about how
00:19:55.280 to mitigate the impact and, and consider domestic options as well. Now, uh, a day after this,
00:20:02.180 that answer was given, uh, it was announced that the Biden administration will be banning Russian oil.
00:20:07.420 So this, they, they are going to be banning, uh, imports of Russian oil, the 600,000 or so barrels
00:20:14.040 a day that we bring in are now we're not going to be bringing in. And this is something that lots of
00:20:20.620 people have called for. Uh, and it's, if you're, if you're going to try to hurt Putin, this would be the
00:20:26.160 way to do it rather than, you know, getting rid of your Russian vodka, which probably isn't even Russian
00:20:30.920 that you already bought. Uh, this will be the way to do it. The problem is, well now, okay, you're
00:20:35.500 going to get rid of the Russian oil. We're going to, we're not going to import any Russian oil.
00:20:39.320 Well, what are we going to replace it with? Because that is, it's certainly not, it's not as
00:20:45.760 though the majority of our oil we got from Russia and majority we get from Canada. But if you're not
00:20:50.120 going to be bringing that oil in, you got to get it from somewhere else. One idea would be to get it
00:20:55.640 from underneath our own ground, but they don't want to do that. So instead, um, what it, what it looks like
00:21:00.100 according to the New York times and their report yesterday, uh, we're going to be replacing that
00:21:04.000 with more exports from Venezuela. So Venezuela is also a socialist dictator state and also an ally
00:21:10.380 of, uh, of Russia. So it sort of makes you think, well, we might as well stick with what we already
00:21:14.820 have if we're going to be doing that. So instead of Russian oil, now we're just going to be importing
00:21:21.280 more Venezuelan oil. Um, here's the other thing we have to realize is that the has the high gas prices
00:21:27.120 are a feature, right? Not a bug as far as the Biden administration is concerned.
00:21:34.440 You know, they're not, they are going to be careful about coming out and saying it.
00:21:38.180 Pete Buttigieg has, has all but said that himself, but it's not something they're going to,
00:21:42.820 going to say explicitly. Um, other people on the left have been more explicit about this.
00:21:49.580 There was some, there was some, uh, left-wing author on Twitter kind of went viral yesterday
00:21:54.540 because he said that, Hey, you know, if you're, if you're using 20 or 30 gallons a week, then, uh,
00:21:59.900 then there's a, there's a problem anyway, you know, the problem is you. So now this is someone,
00:22:04.820 this is the case for a lot of people on the left there. They live in the city and, uh, they ride
00:22:09.600 their little bikes to work if they even go to work or they take an Uber and they're, they're shocked
00:22:14.580 to learn that not everyone lives in the city. They're actually, there's actually this whole,
00:22:19.500 there's really the majority of the country geographically that, that is not comprised of,
00:22:24.460 major cities and people live spread out. And so they have to drive a lot and they're very shocked
00:22:28.660 to learn this. Um, but from the left-wing mentality, first of all, you know, they live in big
00:22:35.820 metropolitan environments. If you live out in the country, then you're probably a backwards redneck
00:22:41.640 anyway, so they don't care about you. And also, um, this is all, it's all part of the transformation,
00:22:46.580 right? This is, this is a, I think that's the exact word that Pete Buttigieg used last week.
00:22:50.860 This is a transformative moment. Really? This is an advantage to have high gas prices because it's
00:22:57.020 going to encourage people to stop driving cars so that we can end climate change. We all stop
00:23:03.820 driving cars and climate, the climate won't change anymore. It'll be 65 degrees and sunny with a slight
00:23:09.860 breeze for everybody for all time. There'll be no more climate change. Um, that's what they're,
00:23:14.320 that's what they're working towards. And so if it seems like the Biden administration is not
00:23:19.000 actually, despite what Jen Psaki claims, not actually doing a whole lot
00:23:22.960 to solve the gas prices problems because they don't really have any motivation to solve it.
00:23:29.260 Um, staying on the same subject and, uh, with the same administration, Kamala Harris
00:23:33.340 was, um, talking about some of this and, uh, energy and climate change. And she tried to be
00:23:39.320 inspirational once again, and this is always a problem. Now, the good news is she's on script.
00:23:44.680 She didn't go off script, but the script itself needs a little bit of work. Listen to this.
00:23:49.900 Imagine a future, the freight trucks that deliver bread and milk to our grocery store shelves
00:23:56.860 and the buses that take children to school and parents to work. Imagine all the heavy duty vehicles
00:24:03.560 that keep our supply lines strong and allow our economy to grow. Imagine that they produced zero
00:24:12.480 emissions. Well, you all imagined it. That's why we're here today, because we have the ability to see
00:24:21.760 what can be unburdened by what has been, and then to make the possible actually happen.
00:24:29.860 We have the, we have the advantage to see what can be unburdened by what has been,
00:24:40.340 and then make the possible actually happen. Sounds like she was going in for a little bit
00:24:47.200 of a rhyme there. I don't know. Uh, the problem with Kamala Harris is she's a terrible order. Uh,
00:24:53.340 she's a terrible public speaker, but it's the worst combination. Now it's what most people are bad
00:24:59.200 public speakers and it's fine. They know that they're bad and it's fine, you know, because it's
00:25:03.080 just, you're just like everybody else. You're terrible, but she is a bad public speaker and
00:25:06.940 she thinks she's good. She thinks that she's one of the great orders of, uh, in modern American
00:25:12.400 history. And so you could tell just the confidence with which she utters this kind of just utter this,
00:25:20.080 this total vapid, meaningless nonsense. It's the confidence that really makes it all,
00:25:25.000 all the more, uh, cringy speaking of meaningless statements again from the daily wire. It says
00:25:30.280 Hollywood actor couple, Nick Offerman and Megan Mulally told a Russian president, Vladimir Putin
00:25:35.860 to F off and go home while the duo hosted the 2022 independent spirit awards. That's pretty courageous.
00:25:43.560 Um, this according to Hollywood reporter on Sunday, it says after returning from a commercial
00:25:47.360 commercial break, the cohost took a moment to show their solidarity with and support for Ukraine.
00:25:52.420 Offerman began by telling the audience that they'd like to send best wishes to those affected by the
00:25:57.020 war in Ukraine and all unjust conflicts around the world. And then he said, I think we speak for
00:26:02.200 everyone here when we say we're hoping for a quick and peaceful resolution, specifically F off and go
00:26:07.040 home Putin. And the whole audience applauded and they all started, uh, lifting their middle fingers
00:26:11.560 and, um, to the camera. I think we, I think we could all agree incredible, incredible courage by these
00:26:19.340 Hollywood actors in Hollywood to, to really come out and make it known that they don't like Putin.
00:26:26.620 You know, they're really putting themselves in a position, I think, uh, to get a lot of criticism
00:26:30.780 from the heavy pro Putin faction in Hollywood. And then also they, they may have actually solved the
00:26:36.600 problem. You know, I don't know if Putin has seen this yet. I'm not sure if he, if he's aware, if anyone's
00:26:40.820 told him, but the moment that he sees that Nick Offerman at the spirit awards in Hollywood, um,
00:26:46.040 told him to go home, I think there's a very good chance that Putin will say, well, all right,
00:26:50.420 okay. And then just, and then the war will end. Um, and there were a lot of other really inspiring
00:26:55.740 moments like Kristen Stewart, Stewart, by the way, another actress, uh, she joined in the middle
00:26:59.820 finger and then she took the stage and had her own speech about, uh, the Ukraine conflict, because
00:27:04.980 these are the people that we go to for this sort of thing. And here's what she had to say.
00:27:08.320 We stand for independence as a community. We stand for freedom of expression. We stand
00:27:14.480 for humanity. Today, we are compelled to stand with the people of Ukraine who are, yeah.
00:27:26.700 They, I'm going to try to say this right. They are risking their lives to fight for those very things.
00:27:32.200 We stand with the hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing this war, both Ukrainians and those of
00:27:38.520 other ethnicities and nationalities who are being denied safe harbor. Yeah. We must never let's clap.
00:27:47.400 It's weird. Um, we must never, ever take for granted the importance of courage, empathy,
00:27:53.200 and the power of connecting the power of understanding each other feels really good. So let's give it a shot.
00:28:00.440 Wow. A lot of insight there. A lot of courage, a lot of insight. Um, like you, I turned to
00:28:08.900 Kristen Stewart in times like this. I don't know what's going on in the world. I don't know what
00:28:13.280 to think. I'm scared. I'm alone. I'm nervous. And I just want to know that Kristen Stewart is on top
00:28:19.780 of it. And I'm looking to her as a guiding light to show me the way forward. Um, so just a lot,
00:28:25.420 a lot of great courage and a beautiful moment there at the spirit awards, whatever the hell the spirit
00:28:28.660 awards are. All right. This is also from the daily wire. Uh, it says a Fort Lauderdale,
00:28:32.620 Florida police chief was fired after an investigation stated that he had asked
00:28:36.320 which one is blacker when considering a promotion and also allegedly pointed to photographs on a
00:28:41.480 conference room of the department's command staff saying that wall is too white and I'm going to
00:28:46.380 change that. Former, uh, Fort Lauderdale police chief, Larry Siroto, 48, the first openly gay police
00:28:53.560 chief hired in Fort Lauderdale was fired last Thursday after bias complaints filed last October
00:28:58.720 with the equal, with the U S equal employment opportunity commission prompted, uh, that prompted
00:29:04.200 an investigation. Two police officers said they had been denied promotions based on race,
00:29:08.580 sexual orientation, and gender. City manager, Chris Lagerbloom informed the police department,
00:29:14.480 he would freeze all promotions until further notice to address concerns surrounding the recent
00:29:18.580 police department of promotions. Now that's a really interesting story because you don't often
00:29:24.100 hear about, um, people in these positions getting fired for anti white bias. I mean, it almost never
00:29:30.420 happens. And you could point out that what, what this police chief was saying that we need to be
00:29:36.480 blacker that will, that's too white, too many white candidates. That's, that's like the official policy
00:29:41.440 in many States and in many of these institutions, including academic, including academia. That's what
00:29:47.480 affirmative action is. And it's also discriminatory and racist, but he came out and said, and, and some
00:29:54.640 employees actually had the, the, the courage. I think the real courage here, given the backlash that
00:30:00.300 they could have experienced, had the courage to go to not accept that. And they went to the equal
00:30:08.240 rights commission and reported this because this is racial bias. And this is exactly what needs to
00:30:15.740 happen. You know, I've made this exact point about employees at these woke companies who are forced
00:30:22.000 to sit for CRT training where they're singled out by race and told that if you're white, here are all the
00:30:29.400 bad things about you. And here's what you need to say. If you're white, and here's what you need to think
00:30:33.960 and believe. And, you know, even in some cases having these, uh, indoctrination sessions, the brainwashing
00:30:39.960 sessions where only white people are required to attend. I mean, that sort of thing that is
00:30:44.880 blatant discrimination. You're, you're, the law actually forbids that. Okay. Now I'm, I'm sure the
00:30:52.720 left Democrats, they, they would like to change the law to explicitly allow for, um, anti-white
00:31:00.060 racism in these contexts. But as of right now, they haven't done it. So we do, we do have equal rights
00:31:07.600 laws, which if you, if you read the way the laws are written, it says that you're not allowed to
00:31:14.100 single anybody out for harassment, negative treatment or anything like that based on their
00:31:18.800 race. And the way the law is written, it doesn't say as long as they're black, it just says based
00:31:23.780 on race. The companies get away with it because they're really hardly ever sued for it. These things
00:31:32.060 are not reported and the employees just kind of sit there and endure it. And maybe they'll take
00:31:39.000 pictures and they'll put it on Twitter and it'll go viral and people will complain about it. And
00:31:43.260 that's fine. Like what happened with a, what was it? Coca-Cola. I mean, there's been a bunch of
00:31:46.040 companies and sure, go ahead and do that, but then sue them for rate for illegal racial discrimination
00:31:53.520 against you as a white employee. So that's real racism. Let's go to some, uh, fake racism. I just
00:32:01.160 wanted to mention this Serena Williams is a wildly successful and famous athlete. She's got, she's,
00:32:08.560 she's worth, I'm sure hundreds of millions of dollars. They just made a movie about her. Um,
00:32:13.400 she's just celebrated and loved and everything, but she is still a victim. So the New York times
00:32:20.220 did a story about Serena Williams and in the print version, apparently there still is a print version.
00:32:25.880 So that's the real headline news to me in the print version. They apparently put a, put a picture
00:32:31.460 with the story that was not Serena Williams. It was her, I think her, her sister, it was the wrong
00:32:36.320 picture. And these kinds of mistakes happen, right? Um, and, but Serena Williams was not willing to
00:32:43.900 just say, Oh, okay, well mistakes happen. Who cares? I mean, everyone knows who I am. I don't have to
00:32:48.340 worry that I'm being erased here. People are going to forget what I look like. She couldn't do that.
00:32:52.460 So instead she, she sends out a tweet, no matter how far we come, we get reminded that it's not
00:32:57.200 enough. This is why I raised $111 million for Serena ventures to support the founders who are
00:33:03.060 overlooked by ingrained systems, woefully unaware of their biases, because even I am overlooked.
00:33:09.940 You could do better. Yes. Even Serena Williams is overlooked. Serena Williams, who they did the
00:33:19.160 article about her. Okay. Serena, you, the article was about you. You're overlooked in an article about
00:33:25.840 you. One of the hundreds of articles that have been written about you through your career.
00:33:31.820 I'm being overlooked. I'm a victim of racism. This is, this is what the, um, racial indoctrination
00:33:38.520 on the left gets you. It's just, you end up with people who are totally unwilling. They're just
00:33:43.040 looking for every possible slight and totally unwilling to extend any grace whatsoever.
00:33:50.840 Always assuming the worst possible motivations. Okay. In the world of the race hustler,
00:33:57.440 um, there are no innocent mistakes. There are no oversights. There's nothing inconvenient can happen
00:34:06.160 to you that is not grounded in racism. So Serena Williams, another, um, another victim. We should
00:34:14.720 all apologize to her for this horrible life that we forced her to live as a multimillionaire athlete.
00:34:20.180 Let's get down to the comment section.
00:34:21.460 Who makes a Twitter mob fly off the handle with rage?
00:34:27.580 Who's to blame? It's a sweet baby gang.
00:34:32.560 All right. Uh, dailywire.com slash sweet baby comments. And by the way, if you are watching
00:34:38.740 this show right now on YouTube or on the daily wire, um, I hope that you are inspired by what
00:34:45.880 you've been witnessing throughout the course of the show. And that is this ongoing battle with my
00:34:50.480 earpiece that I've been waging. So this is, this is also, you know, we talked about the example of
00:34:54.580 heroism among athletes. Um, I think you, you, you quite often get heroism and, and, uh, examples of
00:34:59.740 courage on this show. Like for right now, for example, because this is a real, this is a real
00:35:03.960 annoyance that I'm, that I have to point out and complain about. So I guess I lose all the credit
00:35:09.040 that I would otherwise get. So we've got a few, uh, video comments here. Let's go to clip 14.
00:35:15.700 Hey, Matt Walsh to play devil's advocate for the Tik TOK mom. I can kind of see where she's coming
00:35:20.460 from. My husband and I had our first baby last year, and we were so excited at the prospect of
00:35:26.200 finally getting to tell our friends and family that our baby had finally been born. We also did
00:35:31.680 not know what gender our child was when we were pregnant. So we wanted to have the joy of saying
00:35:36.180 we had a boy or we had a girl. Fun fact. Did you know that baby boys and baby girls are actually born
00:35:43.000 with different body parts? And you can tell right away at birth, if you've had a boy or a girl,
00:35:47.740 you don't even have to wait until they're three or four years old to tell you what gender they are.
00:35:51.320 You know, right off the bat, it's amazing. Anyway, we didn't want our friends and family
00:35:55.860 to find out about that happy news via someone else's Facebook post about our baby. So we wanted
00:36:03.720 to have that joy. Secondly, regarding photos of the baby on social media, I can see where she's
00:36:08.800 coming from on that too. There are so many creeps and crazies and sickos out there. I do not want
00:36:14.940 those sickos having access to photos of my kids. So for that reason, we don't post pictures of our kids
00:36:20.620 really online. And we'd prefer that others do too. So when we would text photos, we just say,
00:36:25.300 hey, we don't post these online. So we'd prefer if you not either. And finally, about texting during
00:36:30.580 labor. I don't know about anyone else's experience. But when I was in labor, my husband and I, we were
00:36:36.340 a little busy, a little preoccupied. And we really didn't care if our phone was buzzing with all of
00:36:42.100 these texts coming through. As I said, we were a little busy. So those texts just went unanswered.
00:36:47.640 And it's okay not to instantly respond to every text message the second it comes through to your
00:36:53.320 phone. Let me just jump in. Let me cut you off and do a little mansplaining here, okay? Because
00:36:59.680 this is what men always do. No, look, I get it. She's talking about the TikTok mom who had a whole
00:37:05.740 list of rules because she was having a baby. And so there's a whole list of rules for her friends and
00:37:10.400 family of things that they're allowed to do and not allowed to do. We've seen this, as I said,
00:37:15.160 this is the kind of mentality we see with weddings all the time, with the infamous cliched bridezilla
00:37:20.800 sort of thing. And now it's made its way into other life events. Because for the narcissistic
00:37:26.780 people in our country, for them, they can experience a life event that billions of other
00:37:32.860 people have experienced. But when they experience it, suddenly it is imbued with significance that
00:37:37.460 it's never had before. And that gives you the right to be just a total tyrant about it.
00:37:44.100 And I understand some of the reasons for the rules. You don't want the pictures up. You don't
00:37:48.080 want people to spoil the news. You want to be able to announce it to yourself. But can I just say,
00:37:52.820 like, what about this for an option? Just relax, okay? Sometimes you just have to let,
00:38:00.300 you can't control everything that people do. And you just have to relax a little bit.
00:38:04.240 And if I'm the one telling you that, then you know you should listen. Because I'm not exactly
00:38:08.620 great at relaxing. Like right now, for example, this earpiece, I'm just going to rip it out because
00:38:11.940 it's driving me insane. Okay. Josh Hopkin says, good, there we go. I'm free. Josh Hopkin says,
00:38:19.700 Governor Cox has been doing stuff like this for a while now in Utah. No idea if he's a coward or a
00:38:24.600 woke idiot. Neither are okay. Well, I don't know why you have to choose between the two. Coward or woke
00:38:29.540 idiot? I mean, I think that they quite often go hand in hand. But I think the answer is coward,
00:38:35.800 of course. Because a woke idiot would mean that he actually is a leftist radical himself and
00:38:42.840 actually believes that men are women and women are men, and that there's no difference between the
00:38:47.340 two, and that there's nothing unfair about men competing against women. That would make him a
00:38:50.580 woke idiot. And I'm quite sure that's not the case. So it's possible to be both a coward and a woke
00:38:54.860 in this case. He's just a coward. He knows that it's wrong. He absolutely knows it. And yet is
00:39:00.940 going along with it anyway. Let's see. King Ginger says, I think you're absolutely right
00:39:06.520 about the American convoy. The only reason the Canadian convoy was such a success, at least
00:39:09.880 optically, was because it happened in Canada. Not even their government suspected that that many people
00:39:14.200 would be against their mandates and COVID policies, even if it didn't succeed in their ultimate goal,
00:39:18.300 which was to have the mandates taken away completely. It exposed just how dictatorial Trudeau is
00:39:22.660 and how their government is not like America's. Yeah, I think you raise a good point about one
00:39:26.560 of the differences between the Canadian convoy and the American convoy. The American convoy,
00:39:29.440 by the way, I don't even know, they were going to circle the beltway all week. And I'm not even sure
00:39:34.380 if they were out there on the beltway this week at all. And if they were, then they've just been
00:39:38.920 swallowed by the traffic and they're not really causing any inconvenience at all, which is good for
00:39:43.500 the people, other people on the beltway. But then that even more raises the question of what is the
00:39:47.620 point at all now? You're just driving around in the traffic for a week.
00:39:52.660 What is that supposed to prove? But I think one of the key differences is the one you point out that,
00:39:57.560 you know, because with a protest, you're sending a message, there's a certain goal you have in mind,
00:40:03.300 you're trying to push a certain agenda forward. But it's also about raising awareness, okay?
00:40:10.360 And in this case, for a lot of people in Canada with the trucker convoy, I think it raised awareness
00:40:17.420 to the fact that there are a whole lot of Canadians who are not okay with the COVID tyranny.
00:40:22.260 Okay, it was a way for Canadians in general to speak out against it. And that was actually a
00:40:26.620 revelation to a lot of people, especially in America, including myself. Because prior to this,
00:40:30.720 I kind of thought, well, it seems like most Canadians are on board with this.
00:40:34.040 And that wasn't the case at all. But in America, we obviously know that a great many of us are not
00:40:40.260 okay with it. We've been very vocal about that the entire time. So it doesn't mean you don't speak
00:40:44.720 out against it. But it just, again, underscores why these two things are different. Let's see.
00:40:53.120 Another comment says, I love how the room is decorated with the walrus book.
00:40:56.800 That book has a name. And it's Johnny the walrus. How dare you? You're banned from the show.
00:41:03.440 And let's see. Drake says, Matt, would you be on board for canceling the portion of the student debt
00:41:10.300 that is a byproduct of compound interest? I mean, are we canceling interest on compound or not? Are
00:41:17.820 we canceling the interest on other debt as well? You know, I don't think so. And my answer to that is
00:41:22.760 no. I'm in favor of canceling these student loans and the compound interest and everything else.
00:41:30.940 I'm in favor of canceling it going forward, sort of proactively going forward by more and more people
00:41:40.120 choosing not to take the loans out. So that is a version of canceling student loan debt that I'm
00:41:46.560 in favor of. You could cancel it. You know, if you are a, for your own kids and for this young
00:41:54.500 generation, we could cancel it by going forward, by encouraging people to make other choices.
00:42:01.640 Aside from at the age of 18 or 19, going in, taking out this big loan and consigning themselves to,
00:42:08.380 you know, decades of debt for an education that will not be worth it at all. And one other comment
00:42:15.760 says, Rochelle says, I would like to say I disagree with today's cancellation. I'm personally against
00:42:19.940 protesting in general of any kind. I know you ask why now, but I respond to say why not? Yes,
00:42:25.320 the mandates are being lifted because the left knows a red wave is coming, but it's embarrassing
00:42:29.660 that Canadian truckers made a stance before we Americans did. Truckers play a huge role in our
00:42:33.900 lives and know most of them don't have degrees or may not have even attended college. But after the
00:42:37.540 Canadian trucker convoy, truckers realized their value in logistics for this country and now and how
00:42:42.600 valuable their services are. I could go outside and hold up a sign protesting mandates and that would be
00:42:47.700 theater. But if truckers stop on the highway, I wouldn't be able to purchase a sign to hold up.
00:42:51.940 So give them some credit. First of all, I don't think it's true that the people in Canada made a
00:42:58.000 stand before Americans did. I mean, I think there were a lot of Americans taking a stand against this
00:43:02.200 from the very beginning. I mean, from almost from day one, there were, for example, pastors,
00:43:07.260 not enough of them, granted, but pastors getting arrested because they refused to go along with
00:43:11.960 their churches being shut down. So there have been Americans taking a stance. I don't think that's
00:43:16.560 exactly true. As far as the power that truckers have, I totally agree with you. But I don't think
00:43:24.380 you're exercising that power in a meaningful way by just driving around on the on the beltway.
00:43:31.140 As I've said this this entire time, I think if truckers have specific grievances that they want
00:43:37.320 to get across, and I can certainly imagine that they would, maybe the best way to get it across is
00:43:44.080 rather than driving around the beltway, is to go on strike, is to refuse to haul the freight in the
00:43:48.180 first place. Or how about a more targeted thing? I've been told, you know, I'm talking about how
00:43:51.880 the mandates are going away, and I'm constantly reminded, oh, it's not the case. What about in
00:43:55.380 California? They still have mandates. I think the mandates are even going away in California.
00:43:59.440 But okay, let's take California, for example. If there's something going on in California
00:44:03.060 that truckers don't like, well, then how about a protest where they say, we're not going to
00:44:07.900 haul freight into California until this goes away, whatever it is. Now, there's a protest
00:44:12.960 that would certainly send the message. And it would also put the left in a position of being
00:44:20.180 against people who are workers, blue collar workers going on strike. I realize the left has no problem
00:44:26.280 being hypocritical. And so they'll take that position fine. But it just further exposes the
00:44:30.720 hypocrisy. If you have workers striking, and the left is against them. So there's a protest I would
00:44:37.040 support. Well, if you haven't already added the premiere of The Daily Wire's latest film,
00:44:40.840 The Hyperions, to your to-do list this week, then I suggest you do so right now. Because the film
00:44:45.120 premieres this Thursday night, March 10th, and we cannot wait to share it with you. It's exactly
00:44:49.060 what entertainment in Hollywood is missing these days. It's not woke. It has zero underlying political
00:44:53.100 agenda. It's just about entertainment. Because when it comes to entertainment, that's really all that
00:44:57.940 matters, is that it's fun, that it's enjoyable. And this movie certainly is. Check out the trailer.
00:45:01.820 My name is Vista Mandelbaum. My brother and I have taken four hostages. Everybody against the wall.
00:45:19.200 We've come for one thing. Our Titan badges. Is this real? Yes, ma'am, this is real. Is my sign in this?
00:45:27.320 Well, I want that too. It's the police. They want to talk to whoever's in charge.
00:45:33.800 This Titan badge can grant an individual superhuman power. Perhaps it's time for someone
00:45:39.780 else to take on the responsibility. Meet Apollo.
00:45:48.980 I'd recommend next time using your power.
00:45:51.160 I mean, yeah, if you think so.
00:45:53.780 Calling all Hyperions.
00:45:56.560 On my way.
00:45:58.400 You're making such a mess in here.
00:46:00.960 We've got a Hyperion en route. Not a good time to look stupid.
00:46:06.960 Shots fired!
00:46:08.380 God, come on, give me my gun!
00:46:11.260 Suit up for adventure.
00:46:12.380 She's trying to destroy me.
00:46:24.900 Next question. How's the family?
00:46:27.140 The family is, um, uh, gosh, what is it?
00:46:32.380 Marvelous.
00:46:32.860 I'll fight for the rights to do what I want!
00:46:42.380 Hyperions is a dysfunctional family film with throwback vibes, and it's 100% worth the stream.
00:46:49.680 We'll be streaming, um, the film once on March 10th for all of YouTube to see, but this is the last
00:46:54.080 time we're going to be streaming the film on YouTube for all the freeloaders out there, which
00:46:57.920 means that, uh, you can still watch the movies, but you got to go to dailywire.com slash subscribe
00:47:01.620 and become a member today and get access to all of the content we have going on, uh, and, uh,
00:47:06.100 coming up. And also, you know, it's, um, always a good time, I think, for new voices to enter
00:47:11.040 into the conversation, um, into the transgender conversation, especially because, as you know,
00:47:16.740 um, as I'm constantly preaching about, diversity is extremely important to me, and that is ultimately
00:47:22.280 why I decided to write the best-selling children's LGBTQ plus book, Johnny the Walrus, which you can
00:47:27.880 see on display behind me in the hotel room. And if you have not yet purchased the literary sensation
00:47:33.700 of 2022, and I think probably of the decade, then you could do that. Go to Amazon, um, and,
00:47:40.100 uh, or you can go to johnnythewalrus.com and get your copy that way. Now let's get to our daily
00:47:43.880 cancellation. So today we cancel another TikTok personality who is also a body positivity advocate.
00:47:53.260 Um, Mallory Burgess describes herself as an exercise physiologist and, uh, these days has cultivated a
00:47:59.400 pretty decent following on social media where she criticizes so-called diet culture and calls out fat
00:48:04.420 shaming and tries to explode the myth, um, that, as she puts it, weight can be easily controlled.
00:48:10.720 What's interesting about Ms. Burgess is that, according to my brief Google search anyway,
00:48:14.540 like for two seconds, her own backstory completely undermines her current stance on the supposed myth
00:48:20.640 of weight loss. In fact, the first thing that popped up when I, when I went on Google and I was
00:48:25.500 trying to figure out who this person is so I can cancel them, um, the first thing that popped up
00:48:29.100 was a headline in the Baltimore sun from 2014. And this was the headline McDaniel student loses half
00:48:34.780 her body weight. The article tells us about a Mallory Burgess who was so heavy that she couldn't
00:48:39.840 fit in the restaurant booths. She said, but now that is in 2014. Now she lost over 150 pounds and
00:48:46.140 found a new lease on life. Fast forward to 2022. And here's what she is now saying.
00:48:52.380 What is something you used to strongly believe in that you no longer believe in at all?
00:48:57.400 That body weight is something you can easily change and control. Oh, look, another random
00:49:02.660 person on TikTok making outrageous claims with no sources to make them feel better about their
00:49:07.040 choices. No, Andrew, I read. You know, all those peer reviewed studies that you never actually read
00:49:14.380 in your sophomore year college class. I read those for my job. And there is a growing body of research
00:49:21.060 on weight and body size that is emerging within the last five years. That's finding a lot of it
00:49:27.760 is genetically predetermined that all it takes is for one little chromosome to get a mutation. And
00:49:33.340 oops, that person puts on weight very easily or can't put weight on at all. And sure, some of those
00:49:38.680 factors are external, but not nearly as much as the diet industry will lead you to believe. You know,
00:49:43.920 that billion dollar industry whose primary interest is making sure that you keep hating yourself. So
00:49:48.460 you'll keep giving them money. Maybe it's time to shift our narrative.
00:49:52.460 Yes. I mean, how could anyone think that people can lose weight just by eating less?
00:49:57.280 I mean, I know why you should think that, Mallory, given that you did that exact thing.
00:50:03.200 And even without your personal history, it should still be obvious that weight can be controlled,
00:50:07.700 maybe not easily controlled. OK, so that's where that's where you get us on the technicality.
00:50:11.580 It's not easy in a sense that self-discipline isn't necessarily easy, but it can be simply
00:50:18.300 controlled, though. So let's just call it that. As I mentioned last week, I just read a book
00:50:23.120 called In the Heart of the Sea about a group of 19th century whalers who were shipwrecked in the
00:50:27.600 middle of the Pacific. It's a great book, by the way. Most of them died of starvation. A few survived.
00:50:32.640 The survivors, when they were finally rescued, were gaunt and skeletal. There was no obesity among them.
00:50:38.540 In fact, there has never been an obese shipwreck survivor rescued after months at sea or stranded
00:50:45.460 on an island. Not one in history. Why is that? Because they don't have a lot to eat. And when
00:50:50.720 you eat less, you lose weight. That's the correlation. Now, I'm not suggesting that people
00:50:54.440 should starve themselves. I'm merely pointing out the calories you consume do indeed have a direct
00:50:59.680 and quite predictable impact on your weight. If weight was purely genetic, then there should be
00:51:05.620 lots of morbid obesity, even in places where people don't have a lot to eat. And yet,
00:51:10.580 when you look at this map, for example, a map of obesity rates by country, it shows that what a
00:51:16.840 coincidence the countries that have the most to eat and where people tend to be the most sedentary
00:51:21.880 also have the most obesity. 36% of the United States is obese. In Tanzania, it's 9%. Indonesia,
00:51:29.600 7%. Isn't that quite an amazing anomaly? All of the purples, the rates between 0% and 10%
00:51:37.180 are all concentrated in the third world, while the highest rates are all in the first world.
00:51:42.960 How do you explain that? Do they not have the fat gene down there in Mozambique?
00:51:46.880 We have all the fat genes here and all the fast food. Talk about bad luck. But this is all academic.
00:51:55.560 Mallory has a more recent video that raises, I think, some more interesting points. Well,
00:51:59.900 the video doesn't really raise interesting points, but interesting points can be raised in response to
00:52:04.300 it. So here you go. A little PSA for the girlies that hop on this app and do like the latest gross
00:52:10.320 weekly body checking trend, or do a what I eat in a day and flash their abs, or just generally fish
00:52:16.460 for compliments that they are in fact not fat. Come here. Stop doing free labor for the patriarchy.
00:52:24.020 The hierarchy of bodies where one is considered the best, that was designed by men. Maybe you've
00:52:30.320 noticed that heterosexual men have an incredibly narrow definition of what's attractive, and
00:52:35.140 heterosexual women have like a much broader one. That's by design. If your feminism does not include
00:52:41.800 fighting fat phobia and body liberation, it's not feminism. That's just another wing of the
00:52:47.720 patriarchy, babes. And there might come a day where you gain weight and you're still gonna need feminism
00:52:55.280 then. Because if you think men are awful when you're thin, oof, I got really bad news for you. You don't
00:53:02.420 need to trash other body types to make you feel good about yourself. Okay. First of all, the
00:53:09.040 patriarchy, she says that, you know, they're doing free labor for the patriarchy. I want to be clear.
00:53:14.920 The patriarchy does not expect women to do free labor. We will happily pay you 70 cents for every
00:53:20.420 dollar a man earns. Second, you notice how people who are not thin always feel entitled to tell people
00:53:27.800 who are thin how they should and shouldn't feel about their bodies. So for all the talk about fat
00:53:32.120 shaming, the fact is the only kind of socially acceptable body shaming that you ever encounter
00:53:37.420 in our culture today is the kind you just heard in that video. Third, most importantly, here's a
00:53:42.040 point that I've been wanting to make for a while. And, um, and our friend Mallory has given me the
00:53:45.700 opening. Much of this body positivity stuff is very thinly veiled misinjury. Okay. The body positivity
00:53:52.780 people, most of them really just hate men. And I don't mean that they hate men just because the body
00:53:58.340 positivity stuff is never meant to encourage men, but only women, all of the fat people we're supposed
00:54:03.280 to celebrate are women, all of them. And that's true, but that's not why I'm saying this. I'm saying
00:54:08.440 it because of, of what she just said. People like Mallory don't like the traditional feminine form
00:54:15.360 because for one thing, it takes some work to maintain and they're too lazy. And second, because that's
00:54:21.980 the, the form that men prefer. So she says with disdain that men have a very narrow conception of what
00:54:28.920 they find attractive as opposed to women who are more expansive. Now, the second part of that isn't
00:54:34.120 really true. Just ask any out of shape, single guy with no money, how easy it is to find a woman who
00:54:41.340 will give him the time of day. He probably is not going to think that women are all that open-minded
00:54:45.300 when it comes to their attractions. That's not going to be his lived experience. Um, no women, broadly
00:54:50.880 speaking, look for certain things in men, men look for certain things in women. The things they look
00:54:55.320 for are different. And the way they look for those things is also different because men are much more
00:55:00.560 visual by nature, but it's not accurate to say that one group is more enlightened than the other.
00:55:05.260 Now we're speaking in general terms here again, but it's certainly, it's certainly not accurate
00:55:08.980 generally to say that men want women who look gaunt and famished. That was a trend on the fashion
00:55:17.220 runways for a while. If any men were responsible for that, it would have been gay men, not heterosexuals.
00:55:22.560 We had nothing to do with that. That's not what we're after. Men like all of the things that
00:55:27.780 everybody already knows, thinner waists, curvier hips, longer legs. Obviously men are attracted to
00:55:32.120 breasts, to the feminine form. In other words, men are also attracted to things that are perhaps, um,
00:55:37.260 noticed on a more subconscious level, like facial symmetry. The women are attracted to that too.
00:55:42.120 So why do men like these things? Well, perhaps the first answer to people like Mallory should be,
00:55:49.140 we like it because we do. Piss off. We shouldn't have to justify our sexual attraction to you
00:55:54.660 any more than you're presumably willing to justify yours to us. Especially when we're simply pursuing
00:55:59.700 the same things in women that billions of other men have pursued throughout history. It's all very
00:56:03.560 normal and healthy. One of the big things that makes these attributes attractive to men,
00:56:08.040 you know, hips, breasts, and so on, youth as well, is that it's a marker of fertility.
00:56:14.260 Our attraction to the feminine form is biological. It's a product not of patriarchy, but of evolutionary
00:56:18.900 biology. A feminine woman with the classic sort of hourglass shape or something close to it
00:56:24.280 signals health and vitality. Obesity signals sickness. Obese women also have more problems with
00:56:30.660 their fertility, which again shows why men don't find it attractive. A man, whether it's in the
00:56:37.340 forefront of his mind or not, is looking for a woman with whom he can start a family.
00:56:43.140 That's why the personality traits that men find most attractive women, because it's not all about
00:56:48.360 looks. There is also an element of personality there. But all of the personality traits that men
00:56:53.760 find attractive in women are all of the ones that will make her a good wife and mother. Not the ones
00:56:58.780 that will make her a good CEO, okay? Not the ones that will make her successful in business,
00:57:02.900 but the ones that will make her a good wife and mother. Is she caring? Is she compassionate? Is
00:57:08.920 she affectionate? Does she have a maternal instinct? These are the things the men are looking for.
00:57:13.900 And that's also why the most unattractive and repulsive woman to a man is an obese feminist,
00:57:21.740 because she lacks literally everything that a heterosexual man wants. Everything. Which only
00:57:28.880 makes her more bitter to straight men, which only makes her more repugnant to them, by extension,
00:57:34.460 which only increases her bitterness, and it becomes this vicious cycle. None of this is the fault of
00:57:39.600 men. We're just being who we are, wanting what we want, okay? And we don't have to justify that to
00:57:45.360 anyone. Least of all Mallory. Because today she is, I'm sorry to say, canceled. And we'll leave it
00:57:51.280 there for today. Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening. Have a great day. Godspeed.
