00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, last night we were finally treated to the grotesque spectacle of the
00:00:04.300 man, Leah Thomas, competing against the women in the NCAA championships, which he won handily,
00:00:08.700 of course. Also, we'll talk about that. Also, misinformation transforms into information once
00:00:13.020 again as the New York Times finally confirms that the Hunter Biden laptop story was true,
00:00:17.380 of course. Plus, Nancy Pelosi is the latest liberal to try to defeat Putin with a poem.
00:00:22.140 We'll see if she succeeded. And a few Republicans vote against a bill leveling more sanctions on
00:00:26.480 Russia. Is it because they're stooges of Putin, or might there be another reason? And in our
00:00:30.640 daily cancellation, a film critic is accused of racism for failing to enjoy a cartoon about an
00:00:36.080 Asian girl. Did he bow to the mob and apologize? I think you already know, but we'll find out.
00:00:40.620 All of that and more today on the Matt Wall Show.
00:00:51.720 If you've been listening to this show for a while, you've probably heard me talk about my Helix mattress.
00:00:56.480 Helix has left the bedroom, though, and now they've started making sofas. The mattresses
00:01:01.600 are amazing. You know the sofas are going to be great, too. They just launched a new company called
00:01:05.520 Allform, and they're already making the best sofas we've ever seen. So what makes an Allform sofa
00:01:09.380 really cool? Well, for starters, it's the easiest way you can customize a sofa using premium materials
00:01:13.460 that add a fraction of the cost of traditional stores. You can pick your fabric, the sofa color,
00:01:16.920 the color of the legs, sofa size, and shape to make sure it's perfect for you and your home.
00:01:22.140 Allform sofas are also delivered directly to your home with fast, free shipping.
00:01:25.320 You know, in the past, if you wanted to order a sofa, it would take weeks or even months to arrive,
00:01:30.160 and you would need someone to come and assemble it in your home. Allform takes just three to seven
00:01:35.080 days to arrive in the mail, and you can assemble it yourself in a few minutes, no tools needed.
00:01:39.500 And if getting a sofa without trying it in the store sounds a little bit risky, you don't need
00:01:42.640 to worry. You get 100 days to decide if you want to keep it. That's more than three months,
00:01:46.660 and if you don't love it, they'll pick it up for free and give you a full refund.
00:01:49.440 To find your perfect sofa, check out allform.com slash Walsh. And Allform is offering 20% off
00:01:55.900 all orders for our listeners at allform.com slash Walsh.
00:01:59.660 The Leah Thomas story has reached its conclusion, for now anyway. In the not-too-distant future,
00:02:05.060 we'll start hearing, I'm sure, about Leah Thomas, the Olympian, crushing his female competitors on
00:02:09.560 the global stage. But as for his college career, it concluded at the NCAA Women's Swipping Championship
00:02:15.140 last night. Thomas competed in the 500-yard freestyle race. We can't really use the word
00:02:21.540 compete or race. It was not a sporting event so much as a masquerade, a minstrel show. Thomas was
00:02:28.180 wearing his woman face, ever a bit as degrading and appropriative as blackface. Much like a
00:02:33.680 professional wrestling match, the conclusion of this fake contest was decided ahead of time,
00:02:38.180 just a matter of inaugurating the predetermined winner. And that happened four minutes and 33
00:02:43.080 seconds later when Thomas finished in a comfortable first place, setting a program record in the
00:02:47.780 process. Now, I wish I could say that the room fell quiet or that booze rained down upon Thomas when
00:02:54.440 he completed the process of stealing the gold medal. That's what should have happened, but that's not
00:02:59.580 what happened. The crowd cheered while the announcers, of course, made sure to, as always, respect his
00:03:05.700 pronouns. Listen.
00:03:09.000 She's having a great race here, and she's going to get second. That will give her a lot of confidence.
00:03:14.220 Remember, she's just a freshman.
00:03:16.140 Leah Thomas pulling away over the final 150 meters. Had to work for it. She was pushed over the first
00:03:22.700 350 meters. Thomas wins the NCAA championship, ended up very close for second, with Wyatt taking it ahead
00:03:32.160 of a late charge from Erica Sullivan in third.
00:03:47.900 There's your top two. Thomas on the right. Wyatt scoring an important 17 points for Virginia.
00:03:54.160 Yeah, there's some talk online, some of these videos circulating, and people are comforting
00:04:02.320 themselves by saying, well, listen to the crowd. They're all silent and not cheering for Thomas.
00:04:07.540 Also, there's some video of the ceremony, the medal ceremony, where they're standing on the podium,
00:04:12.080 and that's the claim anyway, is that, well, you can really notice how the crowd is more quiet for
00:04:17.500 Thomas. Maybe I'm deaf or something, but that's not what I hear. All these videos, it seems to me,
00:04:22.840 yeah, you can hear a very small smattering of boos, maybe two or three people, but for the most part,
00:04:28.900 it seems to me that the crowd is clapping along. By the way, Emma Wyant, as you heard there,
00:04:34.000 was second place, so she's really first place. The actual winner of the match was Emma Wyant,
00:04:41.320 University of Virginia, and she's the winner, you know, in reality. But in this fake world here,
00:04:48.460 Leah Thomas is the winner. And afterwards, ESPN interviewed the pseudo-winner, Thomas,
00:04:52.100 the interview is only interesting because the person conducting it is an actual woman.
00:04:57.480 If the full absurdity of this situation hadn't yet sunken in for you, the contrast of Thomas in his
00:05:04.480 one-piece bathing suit standing next to an actual female should really do the trick. Watch.
00:05:11.520 Leah, how did that performance measure up to your expectations coming into this meet tonight?
00:05:15.680 I didn't have a whole lot of expectations for this meet. I was just happy to be here trying to race
00:05:23.260 and compete as best as I could. You've undoubtedly been under the spotlight over the past few months.
00:05:28.440 How have you been dealing with that and reasoning with everything? I try to ignore it as much as I
00:05:33.460 can. I try to focus on my swimming, what I need to do to get ready for my races, and just try to block
00:05:40.780 out everything else. What did that race mean to you? It means the world to be here, be with two of my
00:05:48.600 best friends and teammates, and be able to compete. Thank you for stopping by. Thank you so much.
00:05:55.360 Now, not that it makes a difference, really, but you can't help but see a certain added arrogance in
00:06:00.180 the fact that Thomas isn't even making any effort at all to sound or appear womanly. He's simply just
00:06:07.340 a man who looks and sounds exactly like a man standing there accepted as a woman because he
00:06:13.840 declared himself to be so. No additional steps required. Yeah, I think I've made the comparison
00:06:19.900 before. It really reminds me of that scene in The Office when Michael Scott realizes he doesn't have
00:06:24.940 any money, and he's told that he needs to declare bankruptcy. And so he just walks outside of his office
00:06:29.520 and goes, I declare bankruptcy. And of course, they have to explain to him, that's not, you can't just
00:06:34.300 say it. That's not how it works. And that's sort of how it works for Leah Thomas. He's just, I declare
00:06:39.440 I'm a woman. Well, okay, you're a woman then. Now, I hesitate to make that point only because I don't
00:06:45.500 want to give the impression that the added steps of hormone surgery, whatever, actually bring a man
00:06:50.520 any closer to being a woman. They don't. But even so, the lack of effort here just underscores the
00:06:55.540 absurdity. Meanwhile, outside, a group of protesters were on the scene to
00:06:58.980 represent sanity and common sense and basic moral decency. One of them was a female swimmer
00:07:03.840 with a say no to males competing against females sticker on her sweater. And she was not afraid
00:07:09.840 to call this what it is. There were a few others as well that were interviewed. So credit where
00:07:14.000 it's due. There have not been nearly enough female athletes speaking out against this, but here were
00:07:18.660 two female athletes who would. And this is someone with the courage to speak out and put her name
00:07:24.020 and face on it as well. All the more reason to listen to what she has to say. Here it is.
00:07:29.180 You're a Virginia Tech swimmer. What did you think about Leah Thomas competing today as a
00:07:34.040 swimmer in this competition? What are you feeling? What are other athletes feeling?
00:07:38.040 It's a common conception that we are all very disappointed and frustrated with someone who
00:07:42.620 has capabilities more than us women have to be able to compete at this level and take
00:07:48.200 opportunities away from other women. Like I have a teammate who did not make finals today because she
00:07:52.500 was just bumped out of finals. And it's heartbreaking to see someone who went through puberty as a male
00:07:58.180 and has the body of a male be able to absolutely blow away the competition. And you go into with a
00:08:04.440 mindset that you are, you don't have a chance, if that makes sense. Like it's hard to compete against
00:08:10.080 someone with the aerobic capacity, the muscle development, the body of a man. It's hard. It's hard to
00:08:16.100 think about it like that. And staying positive, I bet, for other swimmers who are in that heat is
00:08:21.800 probably overwhelming. I'm not sure. I can't speak for them. But it's disappointing to see and
00:08:28.040 frustrating, definitely. And you said that one of your teammates was crying today because she didn't
00:08:32.540 make the finals. You said that she was 17th. Yes. And there were 16 spots. Yes. So Leah Thomas took one
00:08:40.200 of those spots. Talk to us about what your teammate was going through and that experience. She was very
00:08:45.640 emotional and it's hard to see because it's her last NCAAs. And she really loves that race. And it
00:08:51.000 was just heartbreaking to see that she put all her effort into it today and when the best time that
00:08:54.920 she's went in a morning session before and still not make it back. It's hard to see someone who works
00:09:00.820 every day, every night, still not be able to compete against someone like that.
00:09:07.420 Now, there is no counter argument to what that woman had to say, but it shows you the power of the
00:09:12.100 left wields in our culture that they have been able to bring this kind of madness to fruition
00:09:16.000 without having to provide any arguments in favor of it. I mean, talk about not making an effort.
00:09:21.400 They barely even attempt to justify any of this. Why should males be allowed to compete against
00:09:26.480 females? Well, the left's answer is, in essence, because we said so. Anytime they try to go beyond
00:09:32.180 that, try to mount an actual defense of the practice, it quickly devolves into incoherence and gibberish.
00:09:37.480 For example, the Washington Post yesterday published a defense of Leah Thomas written
00:09:42.320 by sports columnist Sally Jenkins. And this is what she came up with. At the start of the article,
00:09:49.780 first paragraph, she says, hate to tell you, but in a way, everyone is trans. As writer T. Cooper
00:09:56.400 observed, all of us in life's competitive arena are on the way to becoming someone profoundly different
00:10:01.740 than we were. And keeping score is just a way to track the arc of a person from youth to prime
00:10:06.720 to past it. If you subtract the aim of becomingness from competition just because you're afraid of a
00:10:12.680 Leah Thomas and make it strictly about the chance to win a prize, then you might as well go back to
00:10:17.480 an amusement park and shoot a squirt gun at a clown face because it will have about as much meaning.
00:10:23.320 Now, we're barely through the first paragraph, and already, Jenkins has had to resort to abstract
00:10:28.040 philosophical pablum about the aim of becomingness.
00:10:31.660 One side has a simple, logical, straight-to-the-point argument. Males are not females and can never be
00:10:39.780 females. They're different. Like, that's the argument, right? The other side has the aim of
00:10:44.740 becomingness. So Jenkins has no argument, nothing to offer, nothing to say. So instead, she'll try to
00:10:51.020 convince you to be as confused as she is. And hopefully along the way, she'll also convince you
00:10:55.540 that she's smart because she uses phrases like the aim of becomingness. But, you know, you don't have to be
00:11:01.660 a smart person to realize that this is something that stupid people do. When they don't have
00:11:06.420 anything to say, they try to hide behind nonsense because they're stupid. She continues,
00:11:12.060 The debate over whether Thomas, a transgender collegiate swimmer, has some sort of immutable
00:11:16.960 biological edge over the field in this week's NCAA Women's Swimming Championships, will swamp
00:11:21.760 whatever she does in the water. We look to facts to rescue us when a subject becomes heated,
00:11:26.320 but here the science remains unsettled. No one arguing the issue really wants to admit it.
00:11:30.920 When is the last time you heard a doctor or any other expert say the words, I don't know,
00:11:35.260 but we don't know? Therefore, to exclude trans athletes from elite competition out of our own
00:11:39.980 constricting fears and uncertainty is wrong, harmfully so. The science remains unsettled,
00:11:46.400 she says. No, her brain is unsettled. At least it isn't settled anywhere in her head. Her brain is
00:11:52.420 off vacationing in Fiji, and she's writing her columns without it, obviously. No, there's nothing
00:11:57.320 unsettled here. In fact, the biological distinction between male and female is just about the most
00:12:01.160 settled scientific fact in existence. This is settled. Thomas is not a female. It will never be
00:12:07.300 one. He's a man, a male. XY chromosomes, a male anatomy, as the women who've seen him in the locker
00:12:12.300 room have attested. Male gametes. And there's a lot more to that. There's a lot more to being a male
00:12:17.320 than just that. The physical difference between men and women are not confined to the reproductive
00:12:21.420 system. They can be found in every bodily system. Leah Thomas, like any male, is male right down to
00:12:27.760 his bones, down to his cells, down to his DNA. As I explained in my speech at Georgia Tech earlier
00:12:31.540 in the week, when Thomas dies and is buried beneath a giant monument celebrating him as history's
00:12:37.600 greatest female athlete, 100 years hence, he could be excavated and his bones analyzed, and scientists
00:12:43.600 will be very shocked to discover that the greatest female athlete is a male, because his bones will
00:12:48.820 attest to the biological reality. They won't declare his pronouns or affirm his self-perception,
00:12:53.700 because there will be no self. The self is gone, but the man remains. It also just so happens that
00:13:00.180 many of these biological differences give him a distinct advantage over women in sports, especially
00:13:04.200 swimming. I mean, we can start with height. He is over six feet tall. I think he's 6'1", at least.
00:13:10.200 6'2", looks even taller than that. Do you know how many women in America are just over six feet,
00:13:15.800 let alone 6'1", 6'2"? It's like 0.5% of women are that tall. It's almost no women. Almost no women
00:13:26.160 in the world are as tall as Leah Thomas, and he's not all that tall for a man. He's a little bit
00:13:31.860 above average for a man. So he's got that going for him. When he was in the pool, he was swimming
00:13:37.600 against people with 20% less muscle mass on average, 40% less upper body strength, 33% less lower body
00:13:43.280 strength, smaller fast twitch muscle fiber, smaller lungs, smaller hearts, shorter legs,
00:13:47.380 more estrogen, less testosterone, a lower capacity to produce oxygen when they exert themselves.
00:13:52.060 The list goes on and on and on and on and on some more. The side of sanity, the side opposite Leah
00:13:57.700 Thomas and Sally Jenkins could not be more firmly planted in reality, could not be more vindicated by
00:14:02.620 the evidence. Well, on second thought, that's not true because the more we learn about the body,
00:14:07.640 the more we discover differences between men and women. So that in fact, with each passing day,
00:14:12.260 our side is more and more vindicated by the evidence. Every day you think we couldn't be
00:14:16.560 more vindicated and then more discovery is only vindicated more. We just keep adding evidence to
00:14:21.540 our plate while the other side makes do with the aim of becoming this. And yet that side is currently
00:14:29.180 winning. Why? Well, because they own the culture, they own the institutions. Also because on this
00:14:35.160 particular issue, our side waited too long to get engaged. I mean, on this issue and like every other
00:14:42.100 issue, but especially this one. Now, I was fighting gender ideology eight years ago when there was only
00:14:47.420 a handful of us on the right who cared about it. And most other conservatives were still offering breezy
00:14:52.740 assurances that the whole thing is a sideshow, a fad, nothing to worry about. You really want to die on
00:14:58.420 this hill? They used to ask me. Some of them still do. The answer was and is still yes.
00:15:04.840 I've been on this hill. I'm not leaving it. In fact, I would literally die in a physical sense
00:15:08.840 before abandoning this, this fundamental fact of reality. I'd rather be dead
00:15:15.140 than claim that I don't recognize it. Then go around prattling off nonsense
00:15:22.860 because that's what's being demanded of me. Like rather than debase myself that way,
00:15:28.240 I would rather, I'd rather have a bullet in the head. That's how important it is to me.
00:15:33.280 But many conservatives, they abandoned the hill back at the first sign of serious pushback,
00:15:36.860 back when Jenner was being crowned woman of the year. Others never took the hill to begin with.
00:15:42.660 And now many of them are starting to realize, as some of us have been saying for a decade,
00:15:46.860 that this hill is the hill. It's the central battleground of the culture war.
00:15:50.380 It took so long for the right to clue in that now the battle for the hill is an uphill battle.
00:15:55.900 They got to climb up the hill first so they can defend it. Some of us have been up here
00:16:00.480 like outnumbered for a long time. And now we got all these other people at the base of the hill say,
00:16:04.720 all right, I guess I'll join you. Eight years later. That doesn't mean it isn't winnable.
00:16:12.980 I believe we can actually win this. We can. We can defeat gender ideology. I really believe that.
00:16:17.760 I'm not an optimist. You know that. But I think this is one we can win.
00:16:24.340 We're late to the game. A lot of us are anyway. But we're not so late that we can't win it.
00:16:32.500 But it will require focus and a united front and also moral courage.
00:16:38.440 All things that we've been lacking as a movement, at least in recent history.
00:16:42.000 If we can rediscover those qualities or discover them to begin with, this is a fight we can win.
00:16:48.360 And we must. Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:18:03.380 Happy St. Patrick's Day and me as a man of Irish descent. How could I not mention it? Well,
00:18:09.620 I'd say why. Because this is my, okay, this is our people. This is our holiday. And I'm tired of our
00:18:17.060 identity being appropriated in this way. But I got home and, you know, my wife wanted to have some
00:18:22.700 St. Patty's Day fun and she wanted to do, you know, arts and crafts time with the kids, which I was
00:18:29.560 required to be present for. And they're all making like cut out three-leaf clovers and, you know,
00:18:34.700 drawing leprechauns and whatever. So I said, okay, I'll join. And I drew a leprechaun, which I'll
00:18:41.320 show you here. This is the leprechaun I drew. And my wife was so horrified by it she put it on
00:18:45.240 Twitter. But that's it right there. So I just decided to draw an evil leprechaun holding a
00:18:49.800 dagger, or maybe that's an ice pick, I don't know, with blood and scars all over his face and sharp
00:18:53.540 teeth. And then my boys thought that that was the coolest thing ever. So then the whole arts and
00:18:58.260 crafts time took a turn and they're all drawing these evil, disturbing leprechauns and all this
00:19:05.280 like demonic St. Patrick's Day imagery. And my wife was really annoyed and it was great.
00:19:12.740 She's like, I just wanted to have a nice arts and crafts time. And this is what you had to do.
00:19:15.520 What did you think was going to happen when you asked me to take part in something like this?
00:19:21.960 By the way, Summer, can we put that image back up there again? I don't know why you would just
00:19:25.260 go away from it so quickly. This is fine art. First of all, I think we need to admire
00:19:30.800 my artistic ability to begin with. Because I think that that's, you know, I'm not saying that I'm
00:19:37.460 the greatest artist in the world or anything like that. But I think I'm in the top 100 anyway.
00:19:42.980 But I also think that there are some saying that my evil leprechaun looks a little bit like Chicago
00:19:49.620 mayor, Lori Lightfoot, which I can kind of see that. And there are other people wondering if I
00:19:56.900 will sell that image as an NFT, which is not a bad idea as soon as I figure out what an NFT is.
00:20:04.100 All right, let's go to this, if I can find it. Okay, from the New York Post, it says a comprehensive
00:20:10.220 report about the ongoing federal probe into Hunter Biden's tax filings published by the New York Times
00:20:15.320 on Wednesday, confirmed the existence of the first son's infamous laptop. In October 2020,
00:20:20.520 the Post exclusively reported on the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop that he ditched at a
00:20:24.160 Delaware repair shop in April 2019. The laptop's hard drive contained a trove of emails, text messages,
00:20:31.960 photos, and financial documents between Hunter Biden. We never did. The one thing we never,
00:20:35.360 I don't think we ever figured out is who could be so stupid as to just leave your laptop
00:20:41.800 at a repair shop and never come back for it. Who does that? How do you forget about a laptop?
00:20:50.120 Who's dumped? Well, Hunter Biden is stupid enough for that. So I guess we did answer that question.
00:20:54.280 And the email is detailing how the president's son used political leverage in his overseas business
00:20:57.840 dealings. The repair shop owner reported the laptop to the FBI, which seized the device and its
00:21:03.040 hard drive. The laptop confirmation was included in the Times report that also revealed how Hunter
00:21:10.800 Biden paid off a tax liability of over a million dollars a year after he announced he was under
00:21:15.480 investigation for defrauding the IRS. So this is something that the New York Times, they didn't
00:21:22.340 try to make it into a big deal. It's not like it was a big headline. Hey, all of us on the left were
00:21:27.520 wrong about this. Of course, they didn't do that, but they just kind of squeezed it in and tried to
00:21:32.100 move past it in an article. Oh yeah, by the way. So it turns out that was right.
00:21:35.740 And of course, this was, I don't have to remind you, this was at the time when this story was
00:21:43.020 reported, it was misinformation. It was disinformation, mis and disinformation. This was
00:21:49.440 all, this was all a plot by, by Putin and by Russia. And not only that, and of course you're,
00:21:56.140 you're a, you were a moron and a conspiracy theorist. If you would ever believe, you know,
00:22:01.520 that Hunter Biden could have material like this on his laptop. Um, and, and not only that, but of
00:22:10.460 course, if you weren't allowed to talk about this on social media or you would be banned, you know,
00:22:17.560 the New York post, a media outlet suspended on Twitter for publishing a news article. First time
00:22:25.420 that's ever happened in the history of social media. It hasn't happened since then. You weren't
00:22:32.340 allowed to talk about it. Now, you know, when we talk about, um, rigging the election and voter
00:22:42.300 fraud and all that, here's one example of election rigging that there's, there's no, there's no dispute.
00:22:50.240 You know, this is, this is right out in the open. This is a form of rigging the election. When you
00:22:58.840 have sensitive information, damning information about Joe Biden's family and Joe Biden himself and
00:23:05.160 his son, and there is a conspiracy, yes, by the big tech companies and by the media to erase this stuff
00:23:13.540 from existence. They're not going to let you publish it. They're not going to let you talk about it.
00:23:20.240 It's, it's not just that they've got their competing narrative saying that it's all false. It's like,
00:23:24.160 you're not allowed to post it or they will take it down. And this was during the campaign.
00:23:31.140 And why were they doing this? Well, obviously just because it would be harmful to Joe Biden
00:23:36.380 potentially. And they were terrified. They, they, the idea of having another email scandal
00:23:42.440 in the general election that partially results in, uh, Donald Trump getting elected again.
00:23:49.840 They, they couldn't handle that. They, they couldn't let it happen this time.
00:23:56.200 They let it happen the first time they weren't going to let it happen again.
00:24:00.520 So was the election rigged? Yeah. Right there. We don't really have to go beyond that.
00:24:05.820 And that's, that's serious rigging there. When you've got the most powerful institutions in the
00:24:11.380 country that are conspiring to make sure that that, that true, true information about Joe Biden's
00:24:19.420 family is not allowed to be shared because it will be harmful to Joe Biden's election chances.
00:24:25.820 All right. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Democrat party, um, Nancy Pelosi yesterday made a somewhat
00:24:30.980 bizarre announcement earlier in the day where she was at a press conference and she said that, uh,
00:24:35.620 oh, by the way, a little bit later, I'll be reading a poem written by Bono about Putin. And there was
00:24:43.480 never, there was never any other explanation as far as I know. It's like, why, who, why is Bono sending
00:24:50.340 Nancy Pelosi poems? Is there something going on between those two we need to know about? And, uh,
00:24:56.280 what's happening exactly? None of that's explained, but then a little bit later, Nancy Pelosi gets up
00:25:00.040 and this was all documented by C-SPAN. She gets up in front of a, you know, the, the, the, the select
00:25:05.740 crowd and reads this poem that Bono wrote about Putin, um, hoping that this would cancel world war
00:25:13.720 three. Let's find out if it was successful. Before I introduced them, I want to, I got this message
00:25:20.540 this morning from Bono. And most of us, we're always, whether we're in Ireland or here or whatever it is,
00:25:28.740 Bono has been a very Irish part of our lives. And he said this, he said, Oh, St. Patrick,
00:25:39.480 he drove out the snakes with his prayers, but that's not all it, that's not all it takes.
00:25:46.060 Where the smoke symbolizes an evil that arises and hides in your heart as it breaks. And the evil from,
00:25:54.180 risen from friends from the darkness that lives in some men, but in sorrow and fear, that's when saints
00:26:01.260 can appear to drive out those old snakes once again. And they struggle for us to be free from
00:26:10.140 the psycho in this human family. Ireland's sorrow and pain is now the Ukraine and St. Patrick's name
00:26:19.180 is now Zelensky. Well, that did it. World War three is canceled. The war's over. From what I
00:26:29.580 understand, Putin packed up, went, took, took all, sent all the troops home. And that was it. That was
00:26:34.640 the end of it. Um, that poem, I mean, first of all, Nancy Pelosi, uh, that was a, that was a terrible,
00:26:41.920 I don't know if we can blame, I don't know who to blame primarily for this. Do we blame Bono or do
00:26:46.140 blame Nancy Pelosi? Because it was a terrible rendition. She did an awful job. I mean, Bono
00:26:51.900 sent you a poem for some reason, and you're going to, you're going to, you're going to recite
00:26:55.780 it on camera. Did you not practice it ahead of time a little bit? Try to do Bono some favors
00:27:02.280 here. Make it sound a little bit better, but so it was a terrible rendition. The poem itself
00:27:06.780 was, was, was, was awful. Uh, and, and, and, and, in the, in the poem, uh, Zelensky is now a saint
00:27:14.460 and he's a St. Patrick specifically. So between the song we played yesterday for you and this poem,
00:27:24.100 as, as on this show, we were just assaulting your eardrums with the cringiest material imaginable.
00:27:30.140 And it's going to get worse from here, by the way, I got to tell you, we have a few more things to play
00:27:33.440 in a second. And you're going to really hate me by the end of it. Um, but between those two things,
00:27:38.780 Zelensky is Superman, Jesus Christ, a saint, a man who's going to save the world and St. Patrick's,
00:27:47.320 St. Patrick. My God, we're just losing our minds. We're losing our minds. Now this, so, so, but the,
00:27:57.880 but the real question we have, I think, and I'm sure you thought this when you're listening to that,
00:28:01.920 which poem was better. Was it this one? Was it Bono's poem for Putin? Or was it the, whatever,
00:28:09.980 that CW actress who wrote the poem for Putin about how, if she was Putin's mother. And if you don't
00:28:14.860 remember that poem, then let's listen to it again. Dear President Vladimir Putin, I'm so sorry that I
00:28:23.900 was not your mother. If I was your mother, you would have been so loved, held in the arms of joyous light,
00:28:30.980 never would this story's plight, the world unfurled before our eyes, a pure demise of nations sitting
00:28:38.200 peaceful under a night sky. If I was your mother, the world would have been warm, so much laughter
00:28:44.900 and joy and nothing would harm. I can't imagine the stain, the soul stealing pain that the little
00:28:51.280 boy, you must've seen and believed formulation of thought quickly. That's it. I can't do it. I can't do
00:28:57.120 it. That one's worse. That one is still, that one is still worse. I mean, listen, that's it. That's
00:29:03.180 an achievement in its own right. It's hard to out cringe Bono. You know, Bono is kind of like
00:29:09.080 is and has been forever. Cringe made manifest. The cringe became man and it was Bono. Um, so it's,
00:29:18.600 it's hard. It's, and given the, the field you're playing on here, cringy poetry, that's Bono's deal.
00:29:26.320 That's what he does. And somehow that chick was able to outdo him. So you got to some, some respect
00:29:33.540 there. And we just want to gloss right over the fact that Pelosi said that Bono is a very Irish part
00:29:41.720 of our lives. What, what does that mean? This is what happens when we have a bunch of 97 year olds
00:29:50.540 running the world at a moment like this. All right. Um, we do have one more extremely cringy
00:29:56.580 piece of, uh, of audio and video to play for you, but I, we got to break it up a little bit. So we'll,
00:30:01.160 we'll save that. I just, I can't, I'm afraid if people are listening to this in the car right now,
00:30:05.780 while you're driving, uh, I don't want to be responsible for people, you know, steering their
00:30:09.740 cars off of bridges and so, so, so forth. So we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll break it up. One other
00:30:13.560 story and then we'll get back to the cringe. Um, here's the article from Insider. It says,
00:30:19.700 if I can find it, the House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday to suspend normal trade
00:30:23.760 relations with both Russia and Belarus amid the war in Ukraine. The suspending, the suspending
00:30:28.620 normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus act, which passed by a 42, uh, 424 to eight margin
00:30:34.820 allows president Joe Biden to increase tariffs on products coming from the two countries and requires
00:30:39.080 the U S trade representative to, uh, seek suspension of Russia's participation in the world trade
00:30:44.200 organization. Um, but there were eight members of Congress who voted against it. And of course,
00:30:52.400 they're being condemned by the media and by the left and by people on the right as being stooges for
00:30:58.340 Putin and all the rest of it. They're secret Russian agents, I guess, not so secret. Well, Thomas
00:31:03.020 Massey, as you know, I believe one of the very few good ones left in Congress, he, uh, and you can,
00:31:10.080 you can almost always rely on him to, um, to actually be the adult in the room in Congress.
00:31:18.800 Biden was supposed to be the adult in the room. Turns out, no, he's just, he's the, he's the, uh,
00:31:23.180 the vegetable in the room. He's a, he's the head of head of lettuce in the room. Thomas Massey is the
00:31:28.080 actual adult in the room. And he was with this as well. He explained why he voted against the bill
00:31:32.760 on, on his Twitter account. He says, this was slipped into the Russian sanctions bill on pages
00:31:36.520 19, 20, 21. It gives the president broad authority to sanction virtually anyone, anywhere in the world,
00:31:42.260 whether they're connected to Russia or not. Interventionists at the state department are
00:31:46.520 doing their happy dance now. Uh, and then he has the actual, he comes with the receipts as the kids
00:31:52.280 would say. It says, um, reading from it, uh, the president may impose the sanctions described
00:31:58.480 in subsection B with respect to any foreign person, the president determines based on credible
00:32:03.380 information. Uh, so can, he can impose these sanctions based on, against anyone based on
00:32:10.300 credible information. Um, and then actually the section is quite long as we can't read the entire
00:32:15.180 thing, but you can go and read it for yourself on Thomas Massey's, uh, Twitter account. So this is,
00:32:20.860 this is a bill that again would give the president, the authority, not just to issue these sanctions
00:32:28.160 against Russia, but to sanction anybody. And this is what always happens. This is why, um, neocons
00:32:37.340 exist. This, this in fact is why there's so much enthusiasm for war on both sides of the aisle.
00:32:45.480 If you didn't know any better, if you're a more naive sort of person and, uh, you, you got to look
00:32:51.720 at the political scene in America and you saw how divided everything is and how, you know, arguing
00:32:56.940 about everything, we can't agree on anything. And you might think that a subject like war would
00:33:02.620 certainly be the most divisive of all of them, given what we're talking about and how serious it is.
00:33:08.620 Uh, but that's not the case. You've got two sides that seemingly, seemingly can't agree on anything,
00:33:17.200 but when it comes to war, they're on the same page and war and daylight savings are the two things
00:33:24.700 on the same page. And that should make you pretty suspicious. Then you realize, well, why do they,
00:33:30.800 they like war so much? Cause war is a jobs program for one thing, for the government.
00:33:36.960 It means more money for the government. It's a fundraising program for the government.
00:33:41.840 And most of all, it means it's an opportunity for them to claim more power for themselves.
00:33:47.000 This always happens in any war. That's why the, through the course of the last 20 years and all
00:33:53.360 the pointless wars we've been fighting, uh, we also find that especially the executive branch during
00:33:57.360 that time has become ever more powerful because you can always hide behind the war and the conflict
00:34:03.280 to seize more power for yourself. And that's what they're doing here. And there were eight people
00:34:07.920 in Congress who noticed it and had the, uh, the gumption to stand against it. All right.
00:34:15.720 Back to the cringe. Stacey Abrams appeared on an episode of Star Trek. Um, Star Trek is apparently
00:34:23.400 still on the air. I don't know, I don't know where, where it's being aired or what channel it's on,
00:34:29.040 but Star Trek, there's still some sort of series of Star Trek out there. And, um, I haven't watched
00:34:34.220 any Star Trek at all, but of course, you know, it doesn't surprise me at all to, to, to find out
00:34:39.940 from this clip that Star Trek is massively uber woke. Of course it is. And in this episode, they
00:34:45.600 actually had Stacey Abrams guest starring as president of the United Earth. Now we know
00:34:51.620 Stacey Abrams, um, thinks that she's the actual governor of Georgia. She thinks she should be
00:34:58.740 president. Uh, she's a lot, there's a lot of hype behind her. Nobody can really figure out why no
00:35:05.280 one's been able to figure out why Stacey Abrams is a thing. What's what, what exactly is compelling
00:35:09.320 about her? There's nothing interesting about her. Her resume is not impressive. She's not even a
00:35:14.580 charismatic person. When we know Barack Obama, uh, had almost no resume to speak up before becoming
00:35:21.580 president, but at the very least he was a pretty good public speaker and he had charisma. And so
00:35:27.800 that's what carried him to the white house. Uh, uh, Stacey Abrams doesn't have any of that,
00:35:33.480 but she, she believes that she should, uh, she should run Georgia and really run the, the, the country.
00:35:41.140 And if she can't do it in reality, then she'll do it on Star Trek. So let's watch this scene.
00:35:45.580 We greet the president of United Earth.
00:35:57.800 Madam president, Madam president. Welcome. I am so pleased that you've come. We are eager to begin
00:36:04.000 diplomatic discussions, nothing to discuss. United Earth is ready right now to rejoin the Federation
00:36:11.520 and nothing could make me happier than to say those words. Thank you. Thank you all what you
00:36:19.440 have accomplished here. We were lucky to have each other, ma'am. We couldn't have succeeded
00:36:25.040 otherwise. General, I'm glad to see you've recovered. Yes. I haven't had that close a call in quite a
00:36:31.920 while. I would consider it a personal favor if that were your last close call. I may have been at your
00:36:38.180 service, Madam president. Captain, may I have a word? Of course.
00:36:48.980 Uh, I'm, you know, this is the future. Why is there not a polyamorous trans furry as the United
00:36:57.880 President of the United World? That's my question. She, uh, Stacey Abrams is as good. Am I even on,
00:37:05.440 am I in frame right now for the camera? Just barely. Okay. I'm being told in my ear. We'll
00:37:10.620 just stay here. Uh, Stacey Abrams is as good an actress as she is a politician. I'm just watching
00:37:17.800 that. I, I, it's, it, to me, it's the greatest mystery in life right now is why, like I get it.
00:37:23.900 I know you'll say, well, right. The left has chosen her as to be their thing because she's a black
00:37:30.180 female. Okay. I understand that part of it, but they're like literally any other black female in
00:37:37.100 the country would at least be slightly more impressive than, than Stacey Abrams. You can
00:37:42.680 point, you pick out anybody at random. She's not charismatic. She's not a good public speaker.
00:37:50.120 She has nothing to say, obviously. Um, she's not like physically appealing. She's not, she's not an
00:37:55.660 attractive person. She doesn't have that going for either. She's got nothing. And they've just,
00:38:00.640 they've, they've settled on her and they say, no, it's going to be Stacey Abrams. It's going to be
00:38:04.340 her because we insist. All right. I want to mention this briefly from the sun. Uh, cause I always,
00:38:10.800 you know, I always like these space stories. We went from, uh, the fictional space to reality here
00:38:16.300 or what may soon be reality. Elon Musk, uh, from the sun says, Elon Musk, Elon Musk expects to see
00:38:22.660 another giant leap for mankind, not just in this lifetime, lifetime, but in this decade. He says
00:38:26.180 within seven years, he expects that we'll be landing on Mars. The SpaceX starship, a 400 foot
00:38:32.300 reusable rocket equipped with one of the most powerful engines ever built will be the vessel
00:38:36.860 that brings humans to the red planet. Since 2020 iterations of the starship have completed four
00:38:41.340 test launches and landings, reaching heights of over 10 kilometers on each trip. Plans to take a
00:38:46.180 crewed mission on a trip around the moon and the starship are slated for 2023. And, uh, anyway,
00:38:52.900 now he's talking about 20, you know, within, within before 2030 is when he expects that we're actually
00:38:59.280 going to be landing on Mars. And you know how I feel about this. I mean, it's yes, I would never
00:39:05.280 want to go to Mars. Mars is like, whatever it is, 500 degrees below, uh, zero. And there's these
00:39:12.920 massive storms that rage for months on end. And as there's, you know, there's no atmosphere,
00:39:19.340 oxygen. It's just, it's a death trap of a planet and you're traveling millions of miles to get to
00:39:26.220 it. So it's not something that I would ever want to do. And it's hard for me to see in a practical
00:39:31.660 way, how Mars could ever be a good substitute for earth. I know people are talking about, well,
00:39:36.780 if we ever need, if we ever need to abandon earth, things ever get too bad here, we can go to Mars.
00:39:40.380 Do you realize how bad it would have to be on earth for Mars to be a better option?
00:39:49.200 Um, I mean, if, if it's that bad, then we might as well just direct our ships right into the sun
00:39:54.960 and fly right into the sun and be done with it. If things have gotten that bad, but all that said,
00:40:00.620 uh, I still think, you know, I don't agree with the practical sort of justifications being given
00:40:08.260 for this, but I think that's almost a cover story. What's the real reason that we want to do this?
00:40:13.120 What's the real reason that, that Elon Musk wants to do it? It's you do it to do it because it's
00:40:17.120 discovery because you're reaching out to the beyond, to the unknown. That's why you're doing it.
00:40:24.820 Um, you know, that's, that's when, when, when we went through the age of discovery here on earth,
00:40:31.260 it's, it's not as though these, these efforts were always very, very, you know, justifiable from a
00:40:37.380 practical perspective. But the reason that you're doing it is because this is what humanity is
00:40:41.540 supposed to do. I think if you give up on discovery, if we say, well, we've, we've discovered
00:40:46.660 everything we want to discover and there's no point going anywhere else because it's too much
00:40:50.460 hassle and it's dangerous. Once you say that you've kind of given up as a species, as an,
00:40:56.000 and as a civilization. And we don't want to do that. All right. Time for the comment section.
00:41:17.400 Okay. Let's go to clip 12.
00:41:26.000 We're not going to talk about that. We're not going to talk about that. I don't know what that
00:41:48.340 is. That's not me. First of all, get that off the screen. I don't want to see that. What is that?
00:41:53.180 Who, what, what, what it, we're not going to talk about that. That's not, I don't know who that is.
00:41:58.400 That's definitely not me. Uh, different glasses for one thing. And I've got a better beard and I
00:42:03.040 have to say, you know, at least a slightly better physique than that. Give me some credit. What the
00:42:08.680 hell? Why, why did I ever agree to that? Why did this was, was this my idea to do this video
00:42:13.160 comment section thing? It was my idea. What did I think was going to happen?
00:42:19.540 I just regret my whole life. I regret everything. All right. I just want to stop the show.
00:42:30.600 I don't even want to go on with the show anymore.
00:42:34.180 This is from Life Tutor. He says, I love how not subtle Matt is about being spoken to through his
00:42:38.880 earpiece. We just established sometimes mid talking, he just goes, wait, what? Well, okay. What did you
00:42:44.400 expect? This is obviously not a professional thing that we're doing here. Okay. It's me. I'm just
00:42:48.440 like, I'm sitting in front of a, of a bedroom sheet with my old studio imprinted on it.
00:42:56.180 Um, Jonathan says, I agree with Matt on putting these people in prison, but I have to say,
00:43:02.080 who are we talking about putting in prison? McKenna? I'm on board for that. I have to say,
00:43:09.460 there are numerous cases where someone has put on, Oh, he's talking about sex offenders. No. Um,
00:43:14.780 I have to say there are numerous cases where someone has put on the registry unjustly. That
00:43:18.600 would be nice to have fixed if possible. Uh, yeah, well, no, that is true. Well, that's why I say
00:43:22.780 with the sex offender registry, my point is that if somebody actually deserves to be on the registry,
00:43:28.160 then that's someone who should just be in prison, you know, because the reason you're on the registry,
00:43:33.860 the reason it exists is because these are people who are supposed to be threats to society. Right.
00:43:40.460 Um, and that's why they go on the registry. Now, if we're talking about, you know, you hear cases,
00:43:43.620 I don't know how real these cases are, but you hear cases of, uh, someone who's like,
00:43:49.180 they had to pee and there was no bathroom available. So they go behind a dumpster in a back alley
00:43:53.560 and, uh, someone walks by and the next thing you know, they're on the sex offender registry,
00:43:57.340 stuff like that, or a case where cases I have heard, maybe someone, you know, a high school
00:44:01.680 senior is dating a, uh, someone in 10th grade. And then the high school senior has a birthday
00:44:07.200 and all of a sudden now it's a sex offender. So cases like that, yeah, they don't belong
00:44:10.720 in the registry, but that's just, that's, these are people who are, who, you know, don't belong
00:44:15.520 in the registry, don't belong in prisons. That's a different category. If they actually belong
00:44:18.680 on the registry, then, uh, then really they should be in prison and that should be it.
00:44:24.400 Um, Eli says, isn't tucking what the psycho and silence of the lambs did?
00:44:31.680 Yeah, that's actually exactly right. There's quite a lot that we see about gender ideology
00:44:36.840 and the gender ideologues that, that I think will often recall, uh, Buffalo Bill from silence
00:44:43.980 of the lambs. Sean says Zelensky is the new George Floyd. Well, that's not fair because
00:44:48.440 Zelensky, I mean, George Floyd did nothing in his life at all, uh, of value. I did a lot
00:44:55.960 of bad things and then he died. And the only reason why anyone remembers him is because
00:44:59.540 how he died. Uh, Zelensky is, you know, is a, is a, the leader of Ukraine. He's actually
00:45:04.600 doing something. He is, he is trying to defend his country. So all of that is, all that is
00:45:09.040 good. It's good that he's doing that. Um, my issue is simply with, and if, and if, if you
00:45:14.960 want to point out simply that Zelensky is admirable for defending his country and not, and not doing
00:45:21.920 the unspeakably cowardly thing of abandoning his country and fleeing to some other country, uh,
00:45:27.420 and if you want to point that out and say that you admire, fine. I mean, so do I, it's
00:45:30.440 great. But when we go beyond that and turned them into a, some sort of literal savior figure,
00:45:36.940 now we've gone several steps too far. Um, green machine says, okay, if we're going to continue
00:45:45.140 doing these agonizing video comments, they have to be short, like 10 to 15 seconds. I could
00:45:49.420 not agree more. I think in fact, we should go to zero seconds, shortest of all. Well, as
00:45:55.300 you all know at this point, the daily wire does not stop creating awesome new content
00:45:59.280 and we're super excited about our latest docu-series Fauci Unmasked. The show exposes the most successful
00:46:04.700 failure, failure in government history. Dr. Anthony Fauci is hosted by our very own Michael
00:46:09.240 Knowles. He'll peel back the mask on Fauci's past and show the world's leading quote unquote
00:46:14.380 scientist for what he really is, which is a fraud and worse than that. All that is exposed
00:46:18.420 in this. The third and final episode dropped this morning in it. Michael exposes the final layer
00:46:22.700 of Fauci's unnatural rise to the authoritarian top. And it's seriously good. That is the
00:46:27.840 episode, not Fauci. Check out this sneak peek. He's the highest paid employee in our federal
00:46:33.660 government. And beginning in the spring of 2020, Dr. Fauci began to set national policy that affected
00:46:40.780 the way that 330 million Americans lived their lives. For goodness sakes, I'm telling you wear
00:46:46.720 a mask, keep social distancing. There's nothing political about that. But who is Anthony Fauci?
00:46:53.660 People who have conspiracy theories. Those are people that don't particularly care for me.
00:46:59.640 In this short series, we will do what the establishment media have refused to do.
00:47:04.680 We will give you an unvarnished look at the career of the most powerful politician in America,
00:47:11.040 Dr. Anthony Fauci. Don't you think it's time that you step down and let someone else who has a more
00:47:15.580 effective message? Actually, no.

00:48:10.180 Finally, it is once again time to announce the latest installment of the Matt Walsh patch
00:48:14.940 program. This is March's path, which is, do I have a patch program? Oh, I do. Yeah.
00:48:21.420 This is the patch for March. Godspeed's officially arrived. And in case you've forgotten, like perhaps
00:48:28.320 I have, which I know you surely have not, I am releasing a very limited edition patch once
00:48:36.080 a month for you to wear on your shirt, backpack, skin, or wherever you feel best demonstrates your
00:48:40.380 allegiance to the Sweet Baby King. I'm really good at ads. Can we just all admit that, how good I am
00:48:44.300 at this? Remember, these merit badges are limited edition. Last month's patch sold out, so don't miss
00:48:49.760 your chance to be part of history. Go to dailywire.com slash shop today. How could you not go after that
00:48:55.280 sales pitch? Now let's get to our daily cancellation. Well, Pixar's latest film, Turning Red, has generated
00:49:05.280 some pushback from parents who say that the story, which is apparently some kind of weird metaphor for
00:49:11.020 puberty, isn't appropriate for young children. Also, as we've previously discussed, some parents
00:49:16.440 say that the protagonist's child is bratty and disrespectful and rude. This behavior, you know,
00:49:21.120 is encouraged, is not discouraged by the film, but is encouraged. And there are elements of
00:49:26.120 wokeness sprinkled throughout. Now this again is what I've heard from parents. I haven't seen the
00:49:29.900 movie for myself and neither have my kids and it will stay that way. I'm quite happy to take their
00:49:34.640 word for it. Now I usually believe in investigating issues for yourself before drawing conclusions, but
00:49:39.900 when the issue is whether this stupid Disney film is merely stupid or stupid and also malignant,
00:49:45.800 I feel no need to look closer. I'd rather just save the brain cells for something a little bit
00:49:50.720 more important. But as we've discovered, in our society, full of overgrown children stuck in
00:49:57.280 perpetual adolescence, it's very offensive to have a critical opinion about a piece of entertainment,
00:50:02.800 especially Disney entertainment. For many people, especially in my generation, Disney and Disney
00:50:07.500 branded products are a crucial part of their identity because they have no real identity.
00:50:11.800 And then you add to this the fact that the film stars an Asian cartoon character,
00:50:15.780 a cartoon character of Asian descent, CCAD, and now it's all the more offensive to criticize it.
00:50:21.260 That's what brings us to the latest fake racism controversy. This is from NBC. It says,
00:50:25.360 quote, Turning Red cast members spoke up in support of the new Pixar film and its universality
00:50:30.540 following a controversial review for the animated movie that was published by CinemaBlend.
00:50:35.380 The review was pulled offline after being called sexist, racist, and more by members of the press.
00:50:40.540 CinemaBlend managing director Sean O'Connell wrote the review saying that the film's appeal was
00:50:44.880 limited because it's set in the Asian community of Toronto. Quote,
00:50:47.800 quote, I recognize the humor in the film but connected with none of it. By rooting Turning Red
00:50:52.520 very specifically in the Asian community of Toronto, the film legitimately feels like it was
00:50:56.600 made for director Domi Shi's friends and immediate family members, O'Connell wrote in the
00:51:00.840 since-polled review, which is fine but also a tad limiting in its scope. O'Connell doubled down on
00:51:06.140 his opinion of the film in a since-deleted tweet that accompanied his review. The post read,
00:51:10.120 quote, Some Pixar films are made for universal audiences. Turning Red is not. The target audience for
00:51:15.100 this one feels very specific and very narrow. If you're in it, this might work very well for you.
00:51:19.480 I am not in it. This was exhausting. Now, from here, we have the whole routine where the media,
00:51:25.480 people on the left, cast members, people in Hollywood, etc., react with horror that some
00:51:29.100 white man dared to not enjoy a cartoon about an Asian kid. Probably don't need to go through all
00:51:33.960 those examples. You've heard this tune many times before. No need for me to hum it for you now. But
00:51:38.860 we should note a couple of things about O'Connell's opinion. First, it's his opinion, right? He's paid
00:51:45.400 to give his opinion on movies. That's his job. In a sane world, that would be enough. No need to say
00:51:51.780 anything further. There are no wrong opinions about a movie. Well, that's not true. There are wrong
00:51:57.680 opinions. Like if you like Star Wars, that's a wrong opinion. There are a lot of wrong opinions. But
00:52:01.140 either way, it's your job to give your opinion if you're a movie critic. But we don't live in a sane
00:52:06.340 world. So that brings us to the second point. O'Connell's point, essentially, was that he wasn't
00:52:12.020 represented by the film. He didn't connect with it. He didn't speak to his lived experience. Which
00:52:17.000 is to be expected, given that he's a white man in America writing film reviews, and the movie is
00:52:20.980 about an Asian girl in Toronto having her first period. Now, these days, of course, there's no reason
00:52:25.620 why a white man can't also be a menstruating Asian girl, if that's how he identifies. But regardless,
00:52:30.800 this comment about lacking connection with the film is an extremely common criticism of movies.
00:52:35.100 This is the whole reason why every movie now has to include a representative from every identity
00:52:40.020 group and sexuality, so that every viewer can feel represented by the story. Given this obsession
00:52:45.980 with representation, why can't O'Connell make a similar comment about this movie? That's a rhetorical
00:52:51.900 question, of course. I know the reason. He's a white man, and white men are not entitled to have the
00:52:57.880 kinds of opinions that other identity groups are allowed to have. Now, I would go on defending O'Connell
00:53:02.560 from the absurd racism charge, but unfortunately, he's made that impossible.
00:53:07.980 After the publication pulled the review, they actually did pull a review because some readers
00:53:13.580 didn't agree with it. This is a movie review site, and somebody wrote a movie review, and the readers
00:53:18.060 didn't agree with it, and so they took it down. But after that, O'Connell went on Twitter and did
00:53:23.740 exactly what you already knew he would do. He tweeted,
00:53:26.220 I'm genuinely sorry for my turning red review. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with
00:53:32.060 criticism, no matter how harsh. It's clear that I didn't engage nearly enough with the movie,
00:53:36.700 nor did I explain my point of view well at all. I really appreciate your feedback.
00:53:42.280 There it is. The grovel, the submission, the surrender, the apology.
00:53:46.640 Think about the phrasing, too. It's clear that I didn't engage enough with the movie.
00:53:50.700 He's apologizing for not feeling engaged with a film. He's not just apologizing for how he expressed
00:53:56.500 himself. That would be bad enough. He's apologizing for the actual opinion that he formed about the
00:54:01.780 movie. He's saying, I'm sorry for thinking these thoughts about a cartoon. He's apologizing for not
00:54:08.360 liking it more. It's a Pixar cartoon about a teenage girl going through puberty, and O'Connell now admits
00:54:14.420 that it's his moral obligation to connect with the story somehow and enjoy it somehow. He's admitted
00:54:21.060 guilt. What's he guilty of exactly? Who knows? But he's admitted it, and he's confessed to whatever
00:54:27.380 racism he's been accused of. You know, there's a scene at the end of Mystic River where Sean Penn's
00:54:33.260 character has a gun to the head of Tim Robbins' character. He's trying to get Robbins to admit that
00:54:39.620 he killed Penn's daughter. Now, Robbins didn't actually kill the daughter. He was innocent, but Penn's
00:54:47.080 character told him that he'd be allowed to live if he simply admitted to his crime. And finally,
00:54:51.820 Robbins breaks down and says, yeah, I did it. I did it. And then Penn proceeds to stab him to death
00:54:57.380 on the spot and dump his body in the river. Now, a similar scene plays out with cancel culture over and
00:55:02.560 over and over again. The canceled person with a metaphorical gun to the head thinks that he can escape
00:55:08.200 the wrath of the mob by admitting to a crime he didn't commit. The mob puts the gun to the head
00:55:12.860 and says, admit what you did. Admit what you did. And then he admits it, and he's gutted anyway and
00:55:19.940 dumped in the river. Now, he was probably going to die either way. Now he dies a guilty man.
00:55:27.640 Now he dies without his dignity. There's no benefit to apologizing and accepting the racist label.
00:55:33.320 The apology isn't even self-serving. It's self-destructive. Yet that won't stop these
00:55:40.400 people so overwhelmed by their cowardly fear from continuing to make this fatal error again and
00:55:46.800 again and again. So good riddance. You know, I can't help these people even if I wanted to.
00:55:53.640 Sean O'Connell is not a racist, but he admitted to it and apologized. So I guess he is.
00:55:59.080 And he had the right opinion about this dumb Disney cartoon, but he apologized for that too,
00:56:04.120 so I guess it was the wrong opinion. He bowed to the mob. And so today, he is the one who is
00:56:11.600 sadly canceled. And we'll leave it there for today. Thank God. Talk to you on Monday. Godspeed.
