The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 986 - The Democrat Freak Show Hearings

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Walsh Show, another congressional hearing about abortion.

00:00:03.020 This one features liberals refusing to denounce infanticide, refusing to define the word woman,

00:00:07.740 and once again claiming that men can get pregnant. 0.98

00:00:09.940 It has been a very instructive spectacle, if nothing else.

00:00:12.800 Also, AOC is the victim of an outrageous and violent attack after a comedian mildly heckles her for 10 seconds.

00:00:20.140 And a parent at a school board meeting is told that it would be illegal to read out loud some of the material

00:00:24.880 that the school board has approved for children in their district to read at school.

00:00:28.560 Plus, Amazon bans me from advertising my book on its platform again.

00:00:32.780 And car companies are now charging you subscription fees to access the features in the vehicle that you already paid for.

00:00:38.100 We'll talk about all of that and more today on the Matt Walsh Show.

00:00:49.920 The Supreme Court decision overturning Roe is a huge step in the right direction and, of course, long overdue.

00:00:55.420 But there's still a long way to go to rid our country of abortion and give all unborn children the right to life that they're guaranteed by the Constitution. 0.56

00:01:03.900 Did you know that if you're currently on a phone plan with one of the major carriers,

00:01:07.320 you may be helping these left-leaning companies donate to pro-choice causes and candidates,

00:01:12.020 or you may be paying for their employees' travel expenses for abortions, even worse.

00:01:15.940 Don't let abortionists use your money to fund policies and behavior that you don't believe in.

00:01:22.860 Switch to the pro-life, pro-family cell phone company that I use instead.

00:01:27.040 That's Charity Mobile.

00:01:28.140 They send 5% of your monthly plan price to any pro-life charity of your choice.

00:01:31.840 You don't have to compromise on values or services because Charity Mobile offers the latest 5G phones,

00:01:36.380 no device or service contracts, great nationwide coverage,

00:01:38.860 and exceptional live customer service based right here in the USA.

00:01:42.220 The fight for the right to life continues, and pro-life causes need your continued support.

00:01:47.300 You can help by simply switching your cell phone service today to Charity Mobile.

00:01:50.820 Call 1-877-474-3662 or chat with them online at CharityMobile.com

00:01:55.680 and mention offer code Walsh to redeem the free cell phone offer.

00:01:58.820 That's CharityMobile.com and mention offer code Walsh.

00:02:01.340 Two days ago, the Senate had its hearing on abortion rights following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

00:02:08.240 During that hearing, we were treated to the spectacle of University of California,

00:02:11.740 Berkeley School of Law Professor Kiara Bridges,

00:02:14.880 attempting to explain to Senator Josh Hawley that men can get pregnant.

00:02:18.820 As we heard on the show yesterday, this exchange was provoked because Bridges, in her testimony,

00:02:24.900 repeatedly referred to people with the capacity to get pregnant rather than simply saying woman,

00:02:30.440 and Hawley asked her why she was using this sort of wordier label.

00:02:35.240 And she said, well, because women aren't the only ones with the capacity to get pregnant. 1.00

00:02:40.300 Now, the funny thing here, of course, is that people with the capacity to get pregnant 1.00

00:02:44.560 is perhaps the best possible definition of woman, maybe even better than adult human female,

00:02:51.200 which is the one that I usually go with.

00:02:52.420 I mean, they're both true.

00:02:53.240 They're both accurate.

00:02:54.020 But people with the capacity to get pregnant, that's what a woman is. 1.00

00:02:56.980 Trying to draw a distinction between people with the capacity to get pregnant and women,

00:03:02.680 it's like trying to draw a distinction between the 864,000-mile-wide ball of hot plasma

00:03:08.460 at the center of our solar system and the sun, right?

00:03:11.600 The former is just a longer way of saying the latter.

00:03:15.520 But Professor Bridges seeks to divorce the word woman from its inherent definition

00:03:19.260 while still reserving the right to use the now meaningless word as if it still has meaning.

00:03:23.440 And those are the conditions that created what was at the time maybe the most absurd

00:03:32.020 and mind-boggling conversation ever heard in a congressional hearing.

00:03:36.780 That was Tuesday.

00:03:38.880 And that was until yesterday, Wednesday, when the House of Representatives had its turn.

00:03:43.520 This was a House Oversight Committee hearing on the same subject of so-called abortion rights.

00:03:48.860 And this featured testimony from a number of other pro-abortion witnesses,

00:03:53.160 all competing with Bridges, it seems.

00:03:55.820 Let's start with this.

00:03:56.500 Here is Sarah Lopez, who's an abortion activist, describing her own experience with abortion.

00:04:03.360 Listen.

00:04:04.540 What these restrictions are intended to do is try and make people,

00:04:08.660 try and stop people from having abortions.

00:04:10.540 But abortion is health care. 1.00

00:04:12.620 My abortion was the best decision I ever made.

00:04:15.080 It was an act of self-love.

00:04:17.000 And I'm here today to make sure that everybody who currently needs an abortion, 0.99

00:04:21.160 who has had an abortion or will need an abortion, is not alone,

00:04:24.660 no matter what the state tries to force upon us.

00:04:28.340 Abortion is the best decision she ever made. 1.00

00:04:32.300 I mean, it did, after all, enable her to become a mediocre nobody in a pantsuit shilling for abortion. 1.00

00:04:37.900 She sacrificed her soul and her child, and in exchange, she earned a life so miserable and pathetic and pointless 0.99

00:04:46.220 that by her own telling, her greatest achievement, even still, was paying someone $400 to kill her child. 0.99

00:04:54.460 She says this is a self-love.

00:04:57.860 Well, it isn't.

00:04:59.680 It's selfishness, certainly.

00:05:01.660 It's self-centeredness.

00:05:02.620 It's self-involvement.

00:05:03.620 And it's a lot of self-words, but it's not self-love.

00:05:07.580 Because to love is to will the good of the other.

00:05:11.180 To love yourself, then, is to will your own good.

00:05:15.140 But through abortion, you deprive yourself of what is good. 0.72

00:05:18.200 The woman gives up the joy and fulfillment and goodness of motherhood for the sake of the pantsuit, 1.00

00:05:25.360 believing the lie that these are mutually exclusive alternatives.

00:05:28.520 She wills for herself a shallow, regrettable, and regretful life of just misery and loneliness.

00:05:37.520 She condemns herself to an existence spent constantly rationalizing and defending to the world,

00:05:43.320 but really to herself, the awful thing she did in order to open a door that she knows deep down

00:05:48.020 was not worth the price of admission.

00:05:50.480 Okay, that's not self-love.

00:05:52.260 That's actually self-loathing disguised as self-love.

00:05:56.260 But there was more discussion along these lines at the hearing about how abortion is an act of love.

00:06:02.900 We heard this from other witnesses as well.

00:06:05.100 And the conversation got darker than that.

00:06:07.460 At one point, the same witness, Lopez, was asked whether this self-love might extend to killing babies

00:06:15.060 outside of the womb, infanticide.

00:06:17.480 Here's how she responded to that.

00:06:19.740 I assume you agree with infanticide, the killing of a child, a perfectly healthy child at birth.

00:06:24.900 I don't accept the basis of that question, but I do believe abortion is health care.

00:06:32.220 I'm talking about, do you agree?

00:06:33.620 I know, I get that, but do you agree?

00:06:35.860 I mean, are you in, do you support infanticide, killing a child after he's born?

00:06:40.940 I do not agree with the basis of that question.

00:06:43.720 What's the basis?

00:06:44.460 But I do believe that abortion is health care.

00:06:45.980 Now, she does not agree, doesn't agree with the basis of the question, she says.

00:06:52.540 I don't agree with the basis of the question.

00:06:53.840 She treats it like a gotcha question.

00:06:56.620 And yet, all she has to do is say, no.

00:07:00.640 You can only get got by a question like that if you refuse to answer it.

00:07:05.440 Like, if the question, should it be legal to murder a six-month-old infant, if that's

00:07:12.300 a gotcha question for you, then there are some serious problems with you.

00:07:17.240 For some reason, she cannot bring herself to say no.

00:07:20.020 You know, just no, I don't agree with killing infants outside of the womb.

00:07:23.060 Can't say it.

00:07:24.040 In fact, none of the pro-abortion witnesses were willing to express any opposition to

00:07:29.180 the execution of infants.

00:07:30.280 Here's another example.

00:07:32.040 Ms. Shannon, do you agree with infanticide?

00:07:33.940 Well, I think you're using inflammatory language to basically describe a situation that does

00:07:39.040 not happen.

00:07:39.600 We don't have infanticide happening. 0.96

00:07:41.420 Doctors would not do that, and neither would folks who have carried pregnancy.

00:07:44.300 Okay, would a healthy child, do you agree, if a healthy child is born, that it's that

00:07:48.980 woman's right to decide if it lives or dies? 1.00

00:07:51.740 What I think is, based on your question, you have a very low opinion of pregnant people.

00:07:55.840 Because if you think that anybody would carry...

00:07:57.640 No, no, answer the question.

00:07:58.160 Excuse me.

00:07:58.880 Answer the question.

00:07:59.700 I'm answering it.

00:08:00.580 No, you're not.

00:08:01.120 You want to answer it, or you want to keep talking over witnesses?

00:08:03.560 What I'm telling you is, nobody would carry a pregnancy and then decide on a Monday, because

00:08:08.380 they are bored, that they want to have an abortion. 0.99

00:08:10.420 That's ridiculous. 0.99

00:08:11.600 And it's inflammatory, what you're saying. 0.96

00:08:13.580 You're talking about families who are in tough situations, where folks have been excited

00:08:17.440 about carrying a pregnancy.

00:08:19.120 Most of the abortions that happen later in pregnancy are really tragedies where it's really

00:08:24.680 a disappointment for everyone involved.

00:08:26.460 But you agree with, I take it with all those words, you do agree with basically murdering

00:08:32.780 a child after they're born.

00:08:37.040 Doctors would not commit infanticide, she says.

00:08:40.720 But, you know, that's not the same thing as saying that they shouldn't be able to, or

00:08:46.080 that it would be wrong to.

00:08:48.040 Also, by the way, abortionists have committed infanticide.

00:08:50.720 That's why Gosnell is in jail.

00:08:52.980 And as you know from this show, activists just a few months ago, pro-life activists uncovered

00:08:57.980 physical evidence of infanticide in D.C. abortion clinics.

00:09:03.040 That's going on like right now.

00:09:05.140 Though law enforcement never expressed any interest in following up and pursuing that lead, of course.

00:09:09.400 They were too busy ignoring other crimes, it seems.

00:09:12.420 Still, it does happen.

00:09:13.360 It actually happens a lot.

00:09:15.920 And it will certainly happen much more often, especially as abortion activists are conspicuously 0.94

00:09:19.980 hesitant to denounce the practice.

00:09:22.640 It would be an easy win to denounce it.

00:09:25.100 If they were to say, no, of course I don't support that. 0.99

00:09:28.660 Are you crazy? 0.74

00:09:29.840 That's got nothing to do with abortion. 1.00

00:09:31.560 Why would you even ask me that?

00:09:33.480 If they were to just answer that way, that would be enough to flip the question around, 0.97

00:09:36.800 make the questioner look silly.

00:09:39.640 But they couldn't say that because they realized that by condemning the killing of children 0.98

00:09:43.340 a second outside of the womb, they will have fatally weakened the case for killing kids 0.95

00:09:49.900 a second before they emerge from the womb.

00:09:52.340 That's why they know they can't answer it.

00:09:54.240 That's why the question is being asked also, at least one of the reasons. 0.92

00:09:58.440 Because if you ask them, hey, can we kill a child a second outside of the womb, a minute

00:10:02.200 outside of the womb?

00:10:03.560 And if they say just plainly, no, of course we can't do that.

00:10:07.980 Well, why can't we do that?

00:10:09.340 Well, because that's a human child.

00:10:11.440 Well, of course we can.

00:10:12.760 Well, is it not a human child a minute before?

00:10:16.340 What happened in the minute?

00:10:19.200 What changed in the minute besides the location of this human child?

00:10:24.680 They know that's where it's leading, and that's why they can't answer.

00:10:28.340 But we're still not done.

00:10:29.800 The witnesses were, and this is now a tradition, I hope, given the opportunity also to define

00:10:35.240 the word woman as the what is a woman movement grows, and here's how that went.

00:10:39.740 Earlier this year, our new Supreme Court Justice, Ketanja Brown Jackson, was asked what a woman 0.99

00:10:46.540 is, and she had a difficult time defining that.

00:10:49.840 Since you are the president of the National Women's Law Center, I was hoping that you could

00:10:53.740 define what a woman is for us in this committee hearing. 0.99

00:10:57.320 Well, as the president of the National Women's Law Center, you can imagine I say woman a lot

00:11:01.340 in my day job.

00:11:02.800 Okay, so I'm just asking for the definition.

00:11:07.760 And so what I'll tell you is, I am a woman, that's how I identify.

00:11:12.620 Okay.

00:11:12.860 But I wonder, however, if in part the reason that you're asking a question is that you're

00:11:17.480 trying to suggest that people who don't identify as women can't be right in.

00:11:19.180 I am simply asking the question, and I simply want an answer.

00:11:22.600 And so I think it's actually really important to be very clear here that there are people

00:11:28.840 who identify as non-binary, I think about 5% of young people do.

00:11:33.300 We're not going to go there.

00:11:34.360 I was hoping that maybe you would say something that maybe we learned in high school biology

00:11:40.880 that has to do with X and Y chromosomes, which define male and female.

00:11:45.460 But I guess we're not going to get there.

00:11:47.800 You know, the amazing thing is that these people, by now, they must see this question

00:11:52.960 coming from a mile away.

00:11:55.620 Filming the movie, What is a Woman? 0.99

00:11:57.180 And we had the advantage of surprise.

00:11:58.760 Nobody expected to be asked this stumper of a question.

00:12:03.460 But now they must expect, especially at a congressional hearing where just the day before, at another

00:12:09.940 congressional hearing, the most viral moment revolved around this question.

00:12:14.040 So they have to see it coming.

00:12:15.920 They know it's coming.

00:12:17.320 And still, they have not come up with an effective way to deflect, let alone actually answer the

00:12:23.460 question.

00:12:23.780 But we know they're not going to answer it.

00:12:24.760 But at least you think they come up with some kind of half-effective, convincing deflection.

00:12:32.020 They don't even have that.

00:12:34.680 Altogether, I think these hearings have been quite instructive.

00:12:39.900 And I'm glad they're having them.

00:12:42.020 You know, it's the Democrats who wanted to have these hearings to give their side a chance

00:12:45.780 to get up there and talk about how terrible it is now that we're not going to have Roe v. Wade.

00:12:51.660 And I think it's great to put all of this on full display for the world to see.

00:12:56.180 You know, to see these people, leftism, now like a planet out of orbit, just like tumbling

00:13:06.600 through the abyss untethered completely.

00:13:10.160 I think it's a great thing for people to see.

00:13:12.600 So they can decide whether they want to follow these people into that abyss.

00:13:17.320 The liberal witnesses have, just to review, refused to condemn infanticide.

00:13:24.640 They've hailed abortion as an act of love.

00:13:27.940 They've refused to define the word woman. 0.89

00:13:30.860 And they've repeatedly claimed that men can get pregnant.

00:13:34.280 Once again, the stark, vast, unbridgeable rift between the two sides is made evident.

00:13:43.200 A great void separates us.

00:13:47.040 It's not a fracture that can be repaired.

00:13:49.180 It's not a wound that can be healed.

00:13:51.340 At least, I don't see how.

00:13:53.440 I don't know if, as so many people have predicted, this will all lead to a civil war.

00:13:58.540 But if it does, I can certainly say it will be the weirdest civil war in history.

00:14:06.180 But on the bright side, you know, probably also the shortest.

00:14:10.620 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:15:30.020 Prices subject to underwriting and health questions.

00:15:33.060 Okay, before we get to the headlines, I have to mention again our new piece of merchandise in the store that I'm very, very proud of and excited about.

00:15:40.300 And I should be wearing it right now, honestly.

00:15:43.280 The My Truth is Out There alien shirt, so you can show your support for the space alien community.

00:15:49.320 There's a lot of great stuff at the Matt Walsh store if you go to dailywire.com slash shop.

00:15:53.600 And I was looking through just right before we went on the air.

00:15:56.280 There are things here that I didn't even know we had.

00:15:58.500 I mean, I know we have like the virtue signal patch, which if you don't have that yet, you got to get that to express your, to show your virtue to the world.

00:16:04.820 And it's a good way of just staying on top of things.

00:16:07.300 If you have the virtue signal patch, then you don't have to rotate between, you know, the Ukraine flag and the pride flag and the current thing.

00:16:13.600 You just got it all covered with the virtue signal patch or the virtue signal t-shirt, which we have.

00:16:17.860 We, of course, have the chef self pronouns apron so that you can let people know your pronouns while you're cooking out on the grill.

00:16:25.860 And then I didn't even realize we had now officially the sweet baby baby onesies.

00:16:30.600 So if you have, if you're welcoming a new bundle of joy into the world and you want to indoctrinate them as you should into the sweet baby gang cult early on, you can get them this onesie.

00:16:39.920 So there's a lot of great stuff.

00:16:41.240 Go to dailywire.com slash shop and see it all there.

00:16:44.020 Okay.

00:16:46.000 Congresswoman Alexandra Queza-Cortez was confronted on the steps of the Capitol in what I'm sure she would describe and maybe has already described as an act of insurrection. 0.89

00:16:57.600 She was confronted by Alex Stein, who is a conservative, a comedian, a, you know, social media personality.

00:17:04.140 We've played a number of his videos on this show before.

00:17:06.720 This confrontation, though, was a little bit, it was a little bit unique.

00:17:11.620 It's not what you usually see, but let's, let's watch it.

00:17:14.860 Here it is.

00:17:16.340 AOC, my favorite big booty Latina. 1.00

00:17:18.640 I love you, AOC.

00:17:19.620 You're my favorite. 0.79

00:17:21.060 She wants to kill babies, but she's still beautiful. 1.00

00:17:23.720 You look very beautiful in that dress. 1.00

00:17:25.660 You look very sexy.

00:17:26.560 Look at that booty on AOC. 0.99

00:17:28.800 That's my favorite big booty Latina. 1.00

00:17:30.660 Why don't you do a little selfie?

00:17:32.040 I love it.

00:17:32.540 My favorite, AOC.

00:17:33.520 Nice to meet you, AOC.

00:17:34.540 Look how sexy she looks in that dress. 1.00

00:17:37.620 Woo, I love it, AOC.

00:17:39.500 Hot, hot, hot like a tamale.

00:17:42.840 So, there you go.

00:17:45.760 That's how that conversation went.

00:17:48.740 Now, AOC is, of course, picking this up and running with it.

00:17:52.660 Here's what she tweeted.

00:17:53.440 Actually, it's pretty funny.

00:17:54.280 She tweeted at first, there's like a string of tweets here.

00:17:57.280 So, last night at about 830, she tweeted, let's see how I pull this up.

00:18:03.560 She tweeted, I posted about a deeply disgusting incident that happened today on the Capitol

00:18:10.100 Steps, but took it down because it's clearly someone seeking extremist fame.

00:18:14.100 It's just a bummer to work at an institution that openly allowed this, but talking about

00:18:19.060 it only invites more.

00:18:20.860 Just really sad.

00:18:22.480 Okay.

00:18:22.720 So, she says, I don't want to call attention to this.

00:18:26.300 So, I don't want to give this person more fame.

00:18:30.100 And so, she posted about it, then she deleted it, then she posted it again.

00:18:33.020 And then, another 15 minutes goes by and she just can't help herself.

00:18:37.540 She posts the video herself with this guy's face right there after just saying, I don't

00:18:42.180 want to give more attention to this guy.

00:18:43.800 She just can't.

00:18:44.800 She can't help herself because, you know why?

00:18:46.560 Because this is attention to her and it's also an opportunity to make herself into a 0.94

00:18:50.940 victim.

00:18:51.660 She knows that the smarter move would just be to not acknowledge it at all.

00:18:55.300 Don't bring attention to it.

00:18:56.720 Hardly anybody will see it.

00:18:57.980 And then, you move on with your life.

00:18:59.020 She knows that, but you can see this internal conflict.

00:19:02.620 And you can just imagine the torturous 15 minutes between that first tweet and the follow-up

00:19:07.100 when she finally posted the video herself where she's going back and forth.

00:19:10.580 You know, devil and angel on the shoulder.

00:19:12.620 Well, they're both devils for her, but one is slightly more reasonable.

00:19:15.680 Telling her, don't post the video.

00:19:17.180 She's like, no, I can't.

00:19:18.040 It's just, it's attention.

00:19:19.100 I have to.

00:19:20.060 And so, she finally posted it.

00:19:21.880 And she says, here is a video he posted of the incident.

00:19:24.560 I was actually walking over to deck him because if no one will protect us, then I'll do it

00:19:29.500 myself.

00:19:30.100 But I needed to catch a vote more than a case today.

00:19:33.160 Right.

00:19:35.300 She, uh, she was going to, she was going to go over and deck him.

00:19:37.480 I don't want to catch a case though.

00:19:38.540 I was going to beat this guy up yet.

00:19:41.260 What does she do? 1.00

00:19:41.740 She goes over and gives the peace sign and like mugs for the camera.

00:19:44.620 I was going to deck him for it, but instead I just went along with it and posed for a selfie

00:19:49.320 instead.

00:19:49.980 Now, if we can get past how pathetically hilarious it is, that we're supposed to take her seriously, 0.51

00:19:57.680 that she was going to go deck somebody. 0.72

00:20:00.140 Um, she is though threatening violence against a comedian for heckling her.

00:20:07.260 And she's also saying that, um, she thinks it should be illegal for people to say rude things

00:20:17.420 to her.

00:20:17.640 That's what she says.

00:20:18.280 She says, it's a bummer to work in an institution that allows this.

00:20:22.620 So she's saying this should not be allowed.

00:20:25.180 You should not be allowed to approach me as a politician and say things to me that I find

00:20:32.060 offensive.

00:20:32.380 You shouldn't be allowed to do it.

00:20:33.640 She says, and she needs to be protected from it.

00:20:36.920 She needs to be protected from people saying big booty Latina to her. 0.99

00:20:43.580 Now that's an interesting perspective.

00:20:45.540 Let's, let's go back and remember, let's go back to ancient history, which was just like,

00:20:49.640 I don't know, five days ago.

00:20:51.480 And remember what she said after Kavanaugh, uh, justice Kavanaugh was harassed by leftist

00:20:56.180 militants while he was, um, at a restaurant with his family.

00:21:00.200 Here's what, here's what, here was her response to that.

00:21:02.500 Okay.

00:21:02.880 So we saw her response to when she's getting harassed.

00:21:04.760 What about when Kavanaugh was getting harassed?

00:21:06.820 She says, poor guy.

00:21:08.240 He left before his souffle because he decided half the country should risk death if they

00:21:13.400 have an ectopic pregnancy within the wrong state lines.

00:21:15.860 It's all very unfair to him.

00:21:17.740 The least they could do is let him eat cake.

00:21:21.000 So that's her response when other people are being harassed. 0.98

00:21:25.780 In fact, AOC has defended mobs that show up at the homes of Supreme court justice.

00:21:30.680 She has no problem with, um, you know, any kind of aggressive harassment or intimidation

00:21:36.960 tactic used against her opponents at famously looting and rioting.

00:21:44.600 She has the, she's, she has openly defended now.

00:21:48.460 She wants us to feel sorry for her because someone said big booty Latina to her. 1.00

00:21:53.220 No, too bad.

00:21:54.500 AOC, no sympathy from me.

00:21:58.200 Sorry.

00:21:58.680 You openly advocate for your, for your, for your enemies to be harassed and then you're

00:22:04.680 offended and you want it to treat it like a crime when it happens to you.

00:22:11.480 I say again, nope, sorry.

00:22:14.620 You want this world, Congresswoman.

00:22:16.840 Now you get it.

00:22:18.100 Have fun.

00:22:20.060 Something else that AOC, by the way, has said is that, um, protests are supposed to make

00:22:25.080 you uncomfortable.

00:22:25.700 She said this multiple times that, um, and, and this is her way of excusing again, rioting,

00:22:32.440 looting people, showing up people's houses, uh, protesters.

00:22:36.580 Remember that when the protesters followed Kristen cinema into the bathroom, followed her as she

00:22:43.400 went into a bathroom stall and harassing her on camera.

00:22:46.040 Did AOC come out and condemn that?

00:22:48.540 No, she didn't.

00:22:49.860 Why?

00:22:50.140 Because, because protesting is supposed to make you uncomfortable.

00:22:55.280 Well, made her uncomfortable to be called a big booty Latina. 0.95

00:22:58.840 That isn't that what it's supposed to, isn't that, isn't that what the protesting is supposed

00:23:01.560 to accomplish?

00:23:02.380 Now, does this video count as a protest?

00:23:04.960 Was he actually protesting her? 0.99

00:23:06.460 Like in his way, he was, he starts off by saying she wants to kill babies. 0.97

00:23:11.600 He's obviously what he's doing is he's, he's heaping disrespect and scorn on her as an act 0.97

00:23:16.600 of protest, as a statement.

00:23:18.360 You can agree or disagree with that approach.

00:23:20.640 That's what he's doing.

00:23:21.780 Now, if it were me, um, that's not what I would be saying to her.

00:23:26.700 I certainly wouldn't be saying anything nice, but that's not where I would go.

00:23:29.580 But the point is that, again, these are the rules that she established.

00:23:35.280 And as conservatives, we really have to stop trying to protect these, these people from

00:23:40.580 suffering the consequences of their own choices, from being held to their own standards, from

00:23:48.180 being forced to play by the rules that they have established.

00:23:52.760 We can't try to shield somebody from what comes after them once they tear down all the

00:23:58.460 fences.

00:23:58.700 You know what it's like, as, especially these conservatives, and there have been some today

00:24:02.400 that have come to her defense and say, oh, this, you know, Bob, this is, this is too

00:24:06.400 far.

00:24:06.720 This is inappropriate.

00:24:07.580 I don't like AOC, but this is, I condemn this.

00:24:10.240 I condemn it.

00:24:11.720 You know what it's like?

00:24:13.740 It's exactly like if somebody came along and tore down a fence, knowing there's a rabid

00:24:21.500 dog on the other side of it.

00:24:22.940 And they tore it down because they want the dog to tear you to pieces.

00:24:26.220 But instead, the dog turns around and mauls them.

00:24:30.720 Now, if that were to happen, would you look and say, oh, that's unfortunate.

00:24:33.920 That's really terrible.

00:24:34.800 That's a terrible thing.

00:24:36.160 No, you'd say, well, it serves you right.

00:24:37.760 That's, that's justice.

00:24:39.100 You tore down a fence hoping a dog would attack someone else or it attacked you.

00:24:41.880 That's, that is justice is what that is.

00:24:44.680 What else am I supposed to call that?

00:24:46.040 Am I supposed to feel sorry for you? 0.89

00:24:47.960 You wanted this thing to maul me to death and instead it's, it's chomping on your leg

00:24:52.100 and I'm supposed to feel sorry.

00:24:55.080 How self-loathing would I have to be?

00:24:57.720 How much would I have to hate myself to sympathize with you in that circumstance?

00:25:03.360 This woman, just to reiterate again, she has no problem sicking mobs of dangerous militants 1.00

00:25:11.740 on the homes of people she doesn't agree with, even after she, she defended these, the people

00:25:18.900 harassing Kavanaugh, even after someone showed up to Kavanaugh's house with a gun planning

00:25:23.220 to kill him.

00:25:24.720 And she was still saying, yeah, go after him. 1.00

00:25:26.880 It's fine.

00:25:27.400 Poor little baby.

00:25:28.880 And now she's crying because someone said big booty Latina and they're actually conservative

00:25:32.940 saying, this is too far.

00:25:34.280 This is too far.

00:25:36.360 Give me a break.

00:25:37.620 Although I will say, um, even if I don't sympathize with AOC because she's an attention 0.99

00:25:43.440 starved hypocrite, getting a dose of her own medicine, I do think actually that it was 1.00

00:25:48.400 objectively inappropriate to call her a big booty Latina. 1.00

00:25:51.860 Um, the proper term is big booty Latinx or Latinx. 0.96

00:25:58.760 Shameful oversight there.

00:26:00.160 Alex Stein, you should be ashamed.

00:26:02.280 All right, let's move to this from the New York post.

00:26:04.180 Um, it says a Florida father is speaking out after a school board cut off his microphone

00:26:09.280 as he denounced pornographic material in classrooms, claiming somebody failed drastically in the

00:26:14.300 mission to protect young minds.

00:26:15.940 Uh, Bruce Friedman is his name.

00:26:17.320 He's the Florida chapter president of no left turn in education, which works to restore

00:26:21.420 parental function in public education.

00:26:23.120 He was silenced during a June 30th clay County school district board meeting.

00:26:27.060 As he read from a book he found at the Fleming Island high school.

00:26:30.660 Um, and this exchange is just one you have to see for yourself.

00:26:35.880 So let's play it.

00:26:38.320 Um, tonight I'm going to give a sampling from three books that are in our libraries, the

00:26:43.040 Fleming school and the Oakleaf school.

00:26:47.540 And then we can discuss, you can discuss the process by which these books get on the shelves

00:26:53.400 because there's a clay County employee that got paid to put this book lucky by Alice

00:26:58.940 Sebo.

00:27:00.120 I'm going to read things.

00:27:01.400 If there's children watching, cover their ears.

00:27:04.280 He began to, I'm going to stop you right there, sir.

00:27:06.980 I'm going to stop you right there.

00:27:10.800 Turn the microphone off.

00:27:12.560 Turn off his microphone, please.

00:27:14.340 Listen, I've told you I'm stopping you.

00:27:19.120 The reason I'm stopping you is because these meetings are, if you'll hush your mouth for

00:27:23.440 a minute and listen instead of just talking, you may only learn something.

00:27:30.280 Well, the problem is, sir, is these meetings are broadcast.

00:27:33.740 There are people at home that are watching it on YouTube.

00:27:36.280 There are people that are watching it on community television.

00:27:39.020 Are you going to listen or are you going to run your mouth?

00:27:40.520 Well, you'll get it back, but you'll get it back to talk about something besides reading

00:27:46.300 pornography into a public television set.

00:27:51.400 Well, let me explain something to you.

00:27:56.960 There are federal and state laws that prohibit you from saying the things that you're getting

00:28:02.100 ready to say on television.

00:28:04.280 There are state laws and federal communications laws that prohibit you from publishing these

00:28:09.940 things to a child.

00:28:12.360 You don't have the ability at this point to determine who's watching the television show.

00:28:18.320 And for you to say, everybody cover your ears just doesn't cut it.

00:28:22.380 If you go to television and you look before anything that comes on that's offensive, they

00:28:30.560 have it graded as R, NC-17, PG, or G, or X.

00:28:36.500 Now, if you put something on the television without that, you are violating state and federal

00:28:44.240 law, number one.

00:28:45.760 Number two, if you'll hush a minute and listen, you'll learn something.

00:28:49.280 Well, first of all, this is really another reason why, even though the two incidents are not

00:29:00.180 directly related, another reason why I don't have any problem with someone calling AOC a

00:29:05.920 big booty latinx is that, because it's disrespect, but these people, I'm just lumping them all 1.00

00:29:12.420 together, you know, the people running school boards, AOC, they're all in the same camp.

00:29:17.000 They have no respect for us whatsoever.

00:29:19.200 They just, they, you know what, you want to talk about scorn, the scorn they heap on us

00:29:23.400 every second of the day.

00:29:26.520 And you hear it in that exchange.

00:29:28.700 You want to shut your mouth for a minute?

00:29:30.060 Who are you talking to?

00:29:32.480 I thought the guy that was trying to speak, he kept us calm better than I probably could.

00:29:37.500 I respect that.

00:29:38.560 And, um, in the process, he illustrated something very important, but part of which is he'd respond

00:29:46.340 like, who the hell are you talking to? 1.00

00:29:48.560 You son of a bitch. 1.00

00:29:49.620 Why don't you shut your mouth? 1.00

00:29:51.340 It's you telling, who do you think you are that you could sit up there and tell me to close 0.99

00:29:55.220 my mouth?

00:29:56.280 That's not how this works.

00:29:58.140 You sit on a school board.

00:29:59.920 You're a nobody.

00:30:01.040 You work for me. 1.00

00:30:03.280 I tell you to shut your mouth and listen to me. 0.99

00:30:07.500 That should be the response. 0.97

00:30:09.400 And, and, and what is he saying?

00:30:10.860 Um, it's, it's illegal.

00:30:13.460 This guy is saying it's illegal to read this material out loud because a child might hear

00:30:21.340 it.

00:30:21.540 Meanwhile, this is the material that he allows to be in the schools that he oversees.

00:30:27.940 So it's illegal for a parent to read it out loud at a school board meeting, but it's not

00:30:33.180 illegal to supply it to the kids in the, in the library at the school.

00:30:37.500 It's just incredible.

00:30:43.720 And this brings me back to a point that, that should be reiterated.

00:30:48.740 Um, I said yesterday that you shouldn't be sending your kid into the university system.

00:30:53.680 Not the first time I've said that, uh, you know, how I feel about the public school system

00:30:57.180 because of stuff like this.

00:30:58.580 Okay.

00:30:59.340 Because of the, the, the indoctrination that goes on the content that, that kids in these

00:31:05.700 schools are subjected to, uh, the messages and everything else.

00:31:09.160 And also the people running these institutions.

00:31:11.700 And I got pushback yesterday, as I have many times in the past from people saying, as we

00:31:16.940 were talking specifically in that case with the university system, but I hear it also about

00:31:20.720 the public school system.

00:31:21.600 When I say, get out of the public school system, homeschool your kids and all the rest of it. 0.98

00:31:24.660 The, the, the pushback that I get is that, um, well, no, that's, that's cowardly.

00:31:29.740 That's where we're giving up, right?

00:31:31.300 Where, uh, you, we, we can't do that.

00:31:33.500 We need to fight for these institutions.

00:31:34.700 We have to reclaim and fight for these institutions rather than abandon them.

00:31:39.880 But, but here's the problem.

00:31:41.560 We can't.

00:31:43.140 Okay.

00:31:43.400 You can't reclaim them as they are currently constructed.

00:31:46.720 They have to be destroyed and rebuilt.

00:31:48.920 The public school system, the fact that something like that can even happen at a school board

00:31:54.640 meeting, everything from the tone, the school board member is taking the way he's speaking

00:32:00.160 to the other guy and the, the, what they're talking about, everything about it, the fact

00:32:05.700 that, that a school board member will sit there and say, it's illegal for you to read this

00:32:09.860 out loud, but we can still give it to your kids.

00:32:13.400 You know, that just shows that the rot in the school system goes all the way down.

00:32:19.100 It's at a structural level.

00:32:20.680 This is like, you know, if you're buying an old dilapidated home and you might think

00:32:25.680 at first, well, we could do a nice remodel.

00:32:28.220 And then you look at it and you see, no, there's structural damage.

00:32:31.280 This thing is beyond saving.

00:32:32.640 It has to be demolished.

00:32:33.940 Okay.

00:32:34.120 We need to remodel this thing with a wrecking ball, which is how we need to remodel the,

00:32:37.540 the public school system, metaphorically speaking, and, and then, and then rebuild something

00:32:43.020 completely different.

00:32:44.220 That's the only answer.

00:32:45.260 Um, the answer is not to try and take over the left's institutions as they are currently

00:32:52.140 constructed because they are the left's institutions.

00:32:55.260 They own them.

00:32:56.460 And as long as you are inside them, you're at their mercy.

00:33:01.020 Abandon the institutions to the extent that you can build your own.

00:33:04.760 And you can do that with education too.

00:33:05.980 You know, homeschooling may not seem like an institution, but it actually is.

00:33:11.460 There are, and as, as homeschooling parents, we've been involved in several of them.

00:33:14.740 There are, you know, you can get together as a community of homeschoolers and build your

00:33:17.740 own co-ops, build your own, um, in effect, your own small scale educational system.

00:33:23.540 So it's not just you, you know, taking the burden of, um, of, of this all on your own.

00:33:29.780 You don't have to do that.

00:33:30.600 Um, so that's the answer.

00:33:34.640 And then once we've abandoned these institutions, you don't even need the wrecking ball because

00:33:37.980 they'll collapse on their own.

00:33:40.660 The public school system, they, in order to survive, it needs your children.

00:33:44.720 It can't survive without them.

00:33:45.960 It feeds.

00:33:46.860 Okay. 0.99

00:33:47.760 It's like a, it's a parasite that feeds on your kids.

00:33:52.940 And then the other, the other point that I always have to, um, make sure to emphasize

00:33:57.180 is that when it comes to education, you know, you talk about, oh, we need to

00:34:00.520 fight for it.

00:34:01.060 We need to fight for the institutions.

00:34:02.260 Well, if you send your kid to public school or to a liberal university, for that matter,

00:34:08.020 you are not fighting to reclaim that institutions.

00:34:10.880 You're not, you're not doing the fighting.

00:34:12.160 You're not doing anything.

00:34:12.780 You're just sending your kid off.

00:34:14.020 Your child is the one who you are tasking to, to, to wage this war.

00:34:19.540 Okay.

00:34:19.940 You're sending your kid in.

00:34:21.440 And when, especially when it comes to the public school system, that is an insane strategy.

00:34:25.640 Like it's hard enough for parents to deal with these people.

00:34:30.820 You're going to send your seven-year-old in and say, fight for this institution.

00:34:36.060 Asking way too much of your child to do that.

00:34:38.100 I think.

00:34:39.060 All right.

00:34:40.040 You know, we can always rely on, uh, as we move on, we can always rely on this guy to

00:34:44.560 make compelling arguments and to get right to the heart of the matter.

00:34:46.940 So here is Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut, um, tweeting after in response to the new

00:34:54.900 footage that came out of the Uvalde police department and how they were cowering in the

00:34:59.140 hallways while children were being executed on the other side of an unlocked door that

00:35:02.820 never tried to open.

00:35:04.080 Chris Murphy though, he says the Uvalde video puts to bed forever.

00:35:08.240 The question of whether the way to deal with bad guys with guns is to make sure there are

00:35:12.620 more good guys with guns.

00:35:13.960 We've always known it was a gun industry created lie designed to sell more guns.

00:35:18.900 Now we just have the gut wrenching proof.

00:35:23.520 So think about the logic here.

00:35:25.660 First of all, he's saying these men with guns were cowards and they failed in their duty.

00:35:33.740 That part is correct.

00:35:36.460 But he says, which proves forever that no man has ever or will ever use a gun.

00:35:43.960 To protect himself or anyone else.

00:35:46.000 So footage of men with guns who are supposed to be the good guys failing in their duty.

00:35:50.120 That proves that there has never, ever been a good guy with a gun who has actually lived

00:35:55.200 up to his duty and acted courageously.

00:35:57.400 And there could never be one in the future because of this one tragedy.

00:36:01.600 I guess that's about the lot, the sort of logic that you would expect from the males can give

00:36:07.140 birth crowd, but also the ill logic goes one level deeper because what is he actually saying?

00:36:14.880 What's the implication?

00:36:15.600 He's saying that you can't trust the cops to protect you.

00:36:21.000 So the good guy with a gun thing is a myth and that, and that also applies to the cops.

00:36:27.260 He says doesn't exist.

00:36:30.480 And so give up your guns so that you'll have to rely totally on the cops to protect you.

00:36:37.000 Good guy with a gun is a myth.

00:36:41.320 Can't rely on the cops to protect you.

00:36:44.220 Therefore, give up your guns.

00:36:48.300 And if the bad guy's ever coming after you, rely on the cops to protect you, even though you can't.

00:36:53.060 And it's a myth that they will.

00:36:54.560 So this is what we get from this crowd.

00:36:58.580 All right.

00:36:59.520 A couple other things to mention here.

00:37:01.280 Daily Wire says the Everything Store appears to have a double standard when it comes to gender identity content.

00:37:07.640 Amazon recently rejected the Daily Wire's paid ads for Matt Walsh's book, What is a Woman?, saying the ads contain prohibited content.

00:37:16.120 The company cited a policy banning content that questions a person's sexual orientation.

00:37:22.520 And Amazon Advisors Support wrote in an email to Daily Wire,

00:37:26.040 We don't allow content that appears to infer or claim to diagnose, treat, reverse, or question sexual orientation.

00:37:35.960 It's a strange rationale.

00:37:37.240 The article continues, What is a Woman? 0.99

00:37:38.300 It's not about sexual orientation as much as gender identity and the radical progressive ideology around it.

00:37:42.400 Yeah, I mean, this just makes, this of course makes no sense at all.

00:37:45.780 Actually, yeah, the book doesn't deal with sexual orientation at all.

00:37:50.640 That is not the subject of the book.

00:37:52.820 And as far as sexual orientation goes, you know, as, as the, the, the transgender agenda, gender ideology runs roughshod over, um, over what was in the past, the leftist agenda, especially as it, as it pertains to feminists, like we've talked about this week. 0.95

00:38:09.020 It also does this with, um, you know, with so-called gay rights because like sexual orientation doesn't even really mean anything anymore.

00:38:18.760 If your gender doesn't mean anything.

00:38:21.900 And also if it is, as we've been told, you know, your sexual orientation is immutable.

00:38:27.100 It cannot be changed.

00:38:28.560 This is one of the, this has always been, or at least when I say always for the last, you know, a couple of decades, anyway, on the left, this has been one of the number one, most sacrosanct creeds that your, your sexual orientation is set in stone.

00:38:45.840 You're born with it and it can never change.

00:38:48.360 Um, well, um, if that's the case, then you can also, it's, it, it, it's also impossible to change your gender because if you can change your gender, that means that you can change your sexual orientation.

00:38:58.860 You know, if you're a gay man attracted to men, because that means you're a gay man and then you become a woman and you're still attracted to men.

00:39:05.620 Well, that means your sexual orientation has changed.

00:39:07.820 So that's just yet another inherent contradiction created by gender ideology. 1.00

00:39:12.160 Um, but so, so what is Amazon doing here?

00:39:15.600 Um, they, they realize they can't justify banning the book because the, that's what they would like to do.

00:39:24.900 They'd like to ban the book outright and say, you can't sell this book on our site, but, uh, they do have their own guidelines, which they've published and everybody can read.

00:39:32.520 And, and they realize that according to those guidelines, the book doesn't violate any of them.

00:39:38.140 Now, of course it doesn't make sense that, you know, if, that the book is so hateful that, and violates policies.

00:39:46.300 And so you can ban advertising, but you also, but you still, but you, but by, according to your own guidelines, you can't just ban the book outright.

00:39:52.780 Like if it, if it, if it violates the standards for advertising, then you think it also violates the standards for being sold on the site at all.

00:40:01.400 So that doesn't make a lot of sense, but, um, I think this is just kind of the compromise Amazon has come up with, especially to appease their own woke employees who, uh, infamously have been, you know, literally crying about the books that I've published on their site.

00:40:16.720 Amazon realizes that they can suppress and censor the book in certain ways without drawing a lot of backlash and negative publicity.

00:40:27.080 So they're going, they're going as far as they can without making it into a story.

00:40:31.820 And they realize that censoring the ads for whatever reason, isn't a story.

00:40:37.720 Banning the book outright is a story.

00:40:39.660 And so, uh, that's, that's what they're doing.

00:40:41.860 That's, that's the compromise they've come up with.

00:40:44.720 All right.

00:40:46.740 One other thing to mention before we get to the comment section, um, it's from the New York post, a very important report.

00:40:54.300 It says a woman in a now viral TikTok video climbed through a McDonald's drive-thru window to get to the kitchen so she could cook the food herself.

00:41:03.040 The clip posted by the user Greer Greer said that, um, because the fast food company, the fast food employees ran out of gloves, they could not take any more orders due to sanitary concerns.

00:41:14.240 So then she just asked if she could climb through the window and make the food herself.

00:41:17.780 And I guess they let her do it.

00:41:19.300 Let's watch this, this video.

00:41:21.040 Lady climbs through McDonald's window because we're not taking any more orders cause. 1.00

00:41:27.300 We have no gloves.

00:41:31.340 She's not playing she wants to make her own food. 1.00

00:41:34.440 She's not seeing me.

00:41:46.640 Can we taking it away?

00:41:46.840 Do you?

00:41:49.180 Here's the manager on duty.

00:41:52.400 You're a manager on duty.

00:41:54.380 You gave me permission to learn with you.

00:41:56.740 It's a training thing.

00:41:59.460 McDonald's corporate is training.

00:42:01.460 It's my first day of training and I came unadictally dressed.

00:42:05.160 So you are not held responsible for my first day of training.

00:42:08.280 She clapping and all.

00:42:13.460 What are you doing?

00:42:15.620 What is he doing?

00:42:19.180 Okay, so she's clearly drunk, climbing through the drive-thru window, as one does. 0.70

00:42:32.780 This is something drunk people apparently do, part of the culture.

00:42:37.340 But here's where the focus should really be.

00:42:40.140 They aren't taking orders because they ran out of gloves.

00:42:45.260 What?

00:42:46.200 You can't just wash your hands?

00:42:47.920 Do you have soap and water back there?

00:42:51.920 Or send someone out to get more gloves or check ahead of time to make sure that you have enough gloves to get through the night shift?

00:42:59.340 It seems like there are any number of solutions that would have worked both before and after this problem arose.

00:43:05.820 Instead, there are, you can see in the video, there are like 57 employees there.

00:43:09.120 They can't claim to be understaffed.

00:43:10.060 There's this whole gaggle of employees just kind of standing around, still on the clock, but telling everyone, oh, you can't make your food.

00:43:17.040 We're just going to sit here.

00:43:18.080 We're on the clock.

00:43:19.160 Well, yeah, we can't do anything for you.

00:43:20.320 Sorry.

00:43:20.580 I swear, people will come up with any excuse these days to not work.

00:43:25.580 I told you about the story from Chipotle going in and being told that they can only take online orders, but they can't listen to my order.

00:43:37.840 They can't listen with their ears as I speak the order.

00:43:40.240 But if I were to type it into my phone, then they can take it.

00:43:43.320 Just finding another excuse not to work.

00:43:44.820 I'm expecting to go to Burger King one of these days and be told that they aren't serving anymore because all of the employees simultaneously stub their toes and they're taking a week off to recover from the damage.

00:43:57.360 Just kidding, of course.

00:43:58.280 I would never go to Burger King.

00:43:59.280 I do have some self-respect.

00:44:01.240 Let's get to the comment section.

00:44:02.380 Daily cancellations are the law and order of the day.

00:44:07.380 You know, every day I report the ludicrous, just insane stuff the left is doing to our children. 0.81

00:44:17.940 Drag queen story hours, underage and irreversible sex changes, even grooming that goes on. 0.94

00:44:23.400 We here at the Matt Wall Show humbly inform the nation of the left's agenda every day.

00:44:27.700 But I'm thrilled to report that there's an organization taking action to finally push back on all of this woke madness and filth.

00:44:35.100 That's the American Principles Project.

00:44:36.720 It's a grassroots political advocacy group that is mobilizing the grassroots and pressuring states and the federal government to stop LGBT insanity. 1.00

00:44:45.060 You can sign up today at SaveTheFamily.app.

00:44:49.180 Again, that's SaveTheFamily.app.

00:44:51.660 If you've ever listened to our show and wondered what you can do to stop the destruction of our country, what actual actions can you take?

00:44:59.220 What plan can you put in place?

00:45:01.440 This is your chance to fight back.

00:45:03.040 The work of the American Principles Project has resulted in 18 states banning men from women's sports.

00:45:07.580 It's even pressured so-called conservatives in Congress to get off their butts and pass pro-family platform planks.

00:45:12.400 They also target some of the worst pro-grooming Democrats in the country, working to defeat really sinister creeps like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, self-proclaimed Georgia Governor Stacey Abrams.

00:45:24.280 For the same price, look, as a Disney Plus subscription, you can join the American Principles Project and directly fight back against the left's grooming agenda.

00:45:31.920 I highly encourage all of my listeners to visit SaveTheFamily.app.

00:45:36.180 This is a great organization.

00:45:37.940 Again, that's SaveTheFamily.app.

00:45:40.560 Visit the site, sign up, and help win the war on the groomers today.

00:45:45.340 Barry Bishop says,

00:45:46.960 Related to the guy who lost friends over your movie, my childhood best friend of 15 years just decided she can't talk to me unless I change my views on abortion and LGBT.

00:45:56.200 This doesn't make much sense to me because we hardly ever talk about politics when together.

00:46:00.320 Does this ever happen to you, Matt?

00:46:02.240 If so, how did you get over it?

00:46:05.180 Yeah, I mean, there are definitely plenty of people who don't talk to me anymore in recent years.

00:46:11.980 And then there was another, just over the years as I've been doing this for a living, just people have dropped off and have dropped off of the tree here.

00:46:20.720 And then, especially over the last month, there's been even more silence.

00:46:24.940 And how do I deal with it?

00:46:27.640 I deal with it by being...

00:46:30.320 A hermit at heart who has absolutely no problem not talking to people anymore. 1.00

00:46:35.800 It's like, to me, it's not...

00:46:37.060 I'm not saying it's the best way to be psychologically or the most healthy way.

00:46:41.360 But when people say, I'm not going to talk to you anymore.

00:46:43.340 Okay, great.

00:46:43.920 That's just one less person I have to talk to.

00:46:45.460 That's fine.

00:46:46.020 I'm totally fine with that.

00:46:47.100 But if you're a normal, like, psychologically healthy, well-adjusted person, how do you deal with it?

00:46:54.420 Unfortunately, I can't get advice from that perspective because that's not my own lived experience.

00:47:00.140 Jesse says, Matt is such a dad persona.

00:47:02.420 Makes him a great SBG dad, too.

00:47:04.360 Sometimes when he talks to us in the gang and he's being all down to earth, all real and common sense sounding, it feels like sitting down to a dad lesson to educate and prepare his kids for dealing with the world.

00:47:15.380 You know, it is a very strange thing because when I first had kids, I felt very out of place.

00:47:21.600 And I think every parent goes through this.

00:47:23.780 When you first have kids, I feel very out of place.

00:47:27.020 You know, referring to myself as a dad was just weird.

00:47:30.720 My first Father's Day, I felt like an imposter.

00:47:34.180 Like, I didn't earn this.

00:47:35.800 It's just, how am I the one celebrating Father's Day?

00:47:39.160 But then one day you look up and you can't conceive of yourself anymore as anything but a parent.

00:47:45.520 So now it's like my defining trait, as you say.

00:47:48.160 So it's a, that is, that's how life works.

00:47:51.380 Another dad lesson for you.

00:47:53.540 Game Time says, the much funnier approach to the J.K. Rowling thing would be to apologize for her and praise the fact that she's a staunch ally and is only saying these things to deflect criticism.

00:48:03.840 Then thank her for her support.

00:48:05.380 The media will instantly latch on to it.

00:48:07.080 No matter what she says, thank her for her staunch allegiance to your cause.

00:48:10.540 That would be some next level trolling toward not only her, but the media as well.

00:48:14.200 They wouldn't be able to help themselves.

00:48:15.580 That would be the funny thing to do.

00:48:17.320 But, you know, the thing is I actually do respect how she's stood up against the trans mob. 0.95

00:48:22.720 Throwing me to the wolves and under the bus all at the same time, I don't really respect that as much.

00:48:26.580 But anyone who stands up against the mob, especially the trans mob in particular, I just, I respect that. 0.89

00:48:32.580 And so even if she hates my guts, and she does, I still respect it.

00:48:36.880 So I'm not actually trying to cause problems for her.

00:48:40.260 I'm not going to back down either.

00:48:42.000 But I'm not going to go out of my way to create issues for her.

00:48:44.620 So this is what I've settled on.

00:48:48.760 Let's see.

00:48:50.040 Midna says, I'm sorry to inform you, Matt, but you're kind of wrong on something.

00:48:56.880 You can, in fact, sue a manufacturer for misuse.

00:49:00.400 LOL.

00:49:00.960 Pretty sure I just heard recently a woman got an STD or something while having sex in a vehicle and sued the manufacturer and won.

00:49:07.180 It's insane, but it happens for some reason.

00:49:11.440 Actually, I have to fact check your fact check here, Midna.

00:49:14.860 You need to do your research into STD and car related issues.

00:49:20.560 The woman did not sue the car manufacturer.

00:49:22.880 She actually went after the insurance company. 0.99

00:49:25.060 The insurance company that covered the car in which she had her sexual interaction. 0.97

00:49:34.420 So she had sex with a guy in his, I think it was his Hyundai, of course, and she contracted genital warts. 0.76

00:49:42.220 And then she filed a claim saying that his car insurance company, Geico, should compensate her for it. 0.90

00:49:48.440 And I think the court actually sided with her to the tune of like $5 million.

00:49:53.520 So this could lead to a very interesting ad campaign with the Geico Gecko.

00:49:58.940 You know, because this is a certain customer base.

00:50:01.820 If you're, you know, the kind of person who has sex in the vehicle and you're going to pass on various STDs, then we've got you covered.

00:50:09.700 We need the Geico Gecko out there to explain that to us. 0.98

00:50:13.780 Although the whole thing is, of course, it's ridiculous on a number of levels. 0.99

00:50:16.720 I don't think I need to explain why, starting with the fact that any rational person would know ahead of time that you're going to get genital warts if you have sex with a guy in a Hyundai. 0.99

00:50:26.040 Like that's another type of car. 0.96

00:50:29.300 You know, we can talk, but a Hyundai is, you know, what do you expect?

00:50:33.340 Everybody knows that if you want to make something more valuable, all you have to do is raise the price of it.

00:50:38.360 Right. Just like that.

00:50:39.400 Just slap on a higher price tag.

00:50:41.020 And it's as simple as that.

00:50:42.080 You have luxury bread, designer gas, exclusive squares of toilet paper.

00:50:46.240 For soon, every home with groceries, electricity will be the envy of its neighborhood.

00:50:50.520 Sounds familiar, right?

00:50:51.460 Well, the other way to create value is to offer people something that they really want and then charge them a fair price for it.

00:50:57.160 I think this is the way.

00:50:57.820 This is the better way.

00:50:58.640 I prefer this way.

00:50:59.340 So if you still haven't heard, maybe because you were listening to Jill Biden comparing Latinos to tacos, then maybe you were distracted from the fact that Dr. Jordan Peterson has joined us at Daily Wire Plus.

00:51:11.500 Right now, just $8 a month gives you access to the full sum of Jordan Peterson's outrageous intellect, including Dragons, Monsters, and Men, a four-part miniseries on men, masculinity, and the pursuit of greatness.

00:51:22.660 It's great stuff.

00:51:23.400 You have to watch it.

00:51:24.920 I feel greater just talking about it.

00:51:26.860 Not to mention everything else we're doing with Daily Wire Plus to unwoke the country through fearless documentaries, gripping movies, and coming soon, we're also going to have kids' content.

00:51:35.520 You don't want to miss any of that.

00:51:36.740 To take advantage of our $8 a month special membership offer, go to dailywireplus.com today and use code PLUS.

00:51:42.800 I've got to get used to saying dailywireplus.com.

00:51:44.980 That's dailywireplus.com right now.

00:51:47.020 Or go buy a gallon of Biden's designer gasoline.

00:51:49.840 Totally up to you.

00:51:50.540 So I think I know which one you should choose.

00:51:52.460 Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:51:58.180 Today for our daily cancellation, I'm going to harp on something seemingly very small and petty.

00:52:04.420 That is, after all, what this segment was always supposed to be about, even if I have on occasion betrayed the spirit of the daily cancellation by talking about topics that actually matter.

00:52:13.160 I will not make that mistake today.

00:52:14.700 Although I do believe, as I'll explain, that this issue is a microcosm of a larger and more pervasive cultural problem.

00:52:21.560 And here it is.

00:52:23.060 BMW, speaking of cars, will be charging a subscription fee for giving genital warts to people in your car.

00:52:30.540 No, for using the heated seats in some of their vehicles.

00:52:33.840 There's going to be a subscription fee if you want to use the heated seats in their vehicles.

00:52:36.940 Now, I have no dog directly in this fight.

00:52:40.120 I don't own a BMW.

00:52:41.760 I'll never own one.

00:52:42.900 I prefer for my cars to be 100% American-made.

00:52:47.540 And unfortunately, those kinds of cars don't exist.

00:52:49.560 So I try to settle for at least like 52% American-made.

00:52:52.920 God bless the USA.

00:52:53.700 But even if I'm not a BMW customer, I still am annoyed by this news.

00:52:58.960 As reported by the Daily Wire, it says,

00:53:00.800 BMW owners are furious that on top of the cost of the luxury car, they'll be required to pay a monthly subscription fee to use features like the heated seats.

00:53:07.260 Per the New York Post, subscription plans recently rolled out in the UK, Germany, South Korea, and in several other markets, which include fees for premium features.

00:53:14.900 BMW owners will be forced to pay the equivalent of $18 a month to use heated front seats in their cars.

00:53:20.280 Owners also have the option to pay $180 per year to use their heated seats, or they can opt to spend $300 for a three-year subscription or $415 for unlimited access, the publication reported.

00:53:31.420 Quote, front seat heating gets things nice and cozy in no time, BMW's UK site says.

00:53:36.620 Activation after purchase is quick and easy.

00:53:39.060 Heated seats aren't the only premium feature with an upcharge.

00:53:41.380 In some markets, owners will pay $12 per month to use their heated steering wheels.

00:53:45.940 It'll cost $42 per month for adaptive cruise control,

00:53:48.720 The feature that switches off high beams automatically when another car appears also costs $12 monthly.

00:53:54.600 Anyone who wants to connect their iPhones to their cars through Apple's CarPlay feature will be charged $265.

00:54:01.760 Now, this is not something that's confined only to BMWs in foreign countries.

00:54:06.520 As an article this week in The Verge points out, cars today are packed full of software systems and computers,

00:54:12.700 and this fact is being exploited more and more by the manufacturers.

00:54:16.140 The Verge reports, quote, most of the subscription plans seem to be coming mainly from luxury automakers,

00:54:20.960 which makes sense given that their customers are mostly rich and can more easily absorb an annual or monthly fee.

00:54:26.940 But industry analysts have said that subscriptions are coming to mass market vehicles as mainstream automakers look for new revenue streams

00:54:32.720 to help fund their enormously expensive plans to build vehicles that are electric, connected, and autonomous.

00:54:37.340 Last year, General Motors said it earned over $2 billion in in-car subscription service revenue,

00:54:42.700 a number of the company expects to grow to $25 billion by the end of the decade.

00:54:46.740 GM had approximately 16 million vehicles on the road in the U.S.,

00:54:50.320 about a quarter of which include features for which customers are paying subscriptions.

00:54:54.580 Quote,

00:54:54.760 Our research indicates that with the right mix of compelling offerings,

00:54:58.020 customers are willing to spend $135 per month on average for products and services,

00:55:03.360 according to one of the guys at GM.

00:55:05.920 Okay.

00:55:07.160 Now, here's, here's, uh, skipping ahead.

00:55:08.800 Here's why I hate this.

00:55:10.460 First of all,

00:55:11.620 it's not as though you're paying less for the car if you don't want the extra features.

00:55:17.140 This isn't like a Spirit Airlines thing where you pay for the standard no-frill service where they just throw you in the cargo hold

00:55:25.400 and airdrop you over your destination with a parachute made out of a tarp.

00:55:29.480 Or they can give you the option to pay extra for the luxury of a seat and a seatbelt or an oxygen mask.

00:55:34.280 That's not what's happening with these vehicle subscription fees.

00:55:36.580 That's not the case.

00:55:37.680 If you purchase a BMW in one of these markets,

00:55:39.780 you already have the heated seats.

00:55:42.480 It's built into the car.

00:55:44.040 They already made it.

00:55:45.120 You bought it.

00:55:45.660 You have it.

00:55:46.220 Which means you paid for it.

00:55:48.700 The manufacturer is double dipping, forcing you to pay twice for the same feature.

00:55:53.540 So they sell you the car with the heated seats,

00:55:55.860 but then they install a software to block your access to it unless you pay an additional recurring fee.

00:56:02.580 It's a kind of, uh, out in the open extortion.

00:56:06.200 Companies openly and just like shamelessly bilking their customers as we grow ever more accustomed to be treated this way.

00:56:14.480 One wonders how far it will go.

00:56:16.220 Perhaps soon you'll have to pay a small fee every time you use your windshield wipers or your turn signal.

00:56:21.900 Maybe you'll need to subscribe for monthly access to your vehicle's braking system.

00:56:26.240 Oh, sorry.

00:56:27.560 You had a, you got a new debit card and forgot to update your payment method.

00:56:30.620 Uh, so they've had to temporarily disable your brakes.

00:56:33.280 Unfortunately, you're learning about this while going 75 on the highway.

00:56:35.920 Sorry about your luck.

00:56:36.500 This is the glorious benefit that we enjoy when, um, all of our consumer products are smart.

00:56:42.940 Not just cars, of course, but increasingly, almost all of our consumer products are filled with software, computer programs.

00:56:49.240 Uh, they're connected to the internet.

00:56:51.460 You don't even have a choice anymore.

00:56:52.880 We, we moved last year and we bought a bunch of new appliances and, um, you know, I didn't really need a washing machine with its own Twitter account.

00:57:03.440 That's what we ended up with.

00:57:04.460 I don't need to be able to connect with my dishwasher through an app on my phone, but I can.

00:57:10.920 I don't need to be able to adjust my refrigerator's internal temperature while I'm a thousand miles away.

00:57:15.680 I don't need to be able to remotely monitor my crock pot, but that's, that's basically what I end up with.

00:57:20.980 And the more connected and computerized we make all of these products, the more fragile they are, the more unreliable.

00:57:27.940 And the less we're able to control and understand and fix them ourselves.

00:57:31.680 As many people have remarked upon, the great irony of modern life is that our products are getting smarter and we are getting dumber.

00:57:38.920 And this is all by design.

00:57:41.000 Another great advantage of the design, advantage for the, for the companies that make and sell this stuff anyway, certainly not for the consumers, is that the connect, the connectivity of all these things, um, the fact that every consumer product is now a device means that the brands can track us and they can monitor us and they can collect our information and sell the information.

00:58:00.400 They can stay connected to us in ways that don't benefit us at all.

00:58:05.360 They can monetize us long after the initial point of purchase.

00:58:09.860 But here's the worst thing about all this stuff.

00:58:12.860 The more the manufacturers can stay connected to and in control over the things that we ostensibly own.

00:58:20.600 The more that ownership becomes subscription-based, the less ownership we actually experience.

00:58:29.320 See, there's a, there's a war on ownership in our culture.

00:58:32.900 The powers that be, they don't want you to actually possess and own anything.

00:58:37.660 They want you to buy a lot of stuff.

00:58:39.680 They want you to fill your homes with branded material goods, but they don't want you to actually own any of it.

00:58:45.400 Everything's on loan.

00:58:48.080 So many Americans live now in rented homes or apartments.

00:58:51.240 They drive finance cars filled with subscription-based features.

00:58:54.720 They buy everything on credit and they own nothing.

00:58:58.840 This is simply not how human beings are meant to live.

00:59:01.720 We're meant to take ownership of something, of our own small piece of existence,

00:59:06.400 so we can lay down our roots and say, this is mine.

00:59:10.080 This belongs to me.

00:59:11.220 It is a natural and good human desire, which we so often suppress so that we can live in other people's homes,

00:59:18.660 on other people's land, using products that still belong to the companies we bought them from.

00:59:24.520 We own nothing.

00:59:25.600 Instead, we are owned.

00:59:28.340 And that is why BMW's heated seats feature is canceled.

00:59:33.660 I told you, I told you I was going to make a mountain out of a molehill.

00:59:36.300 I followed through on the promise and that'll do it for us today.

00:59:39.220 Thanks for watching.
