Summary

A federal judge on Tuesday indefinitely blocked implementation of President Trump's executive order effectively barring transgender people from serving openly in the military, a stark blow to the administration's efforts to curb transgender rights in the U.S. military. Trump's order suggests that transgender people cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service because they threaten unit cohesion and undermine unit cohesion.

00:01:31.520 Hill reports a federal judge on Tuesday indefinitely blocked implementation of President Trump's executive order,
00:01:38.720 effectively barring transgender people from serving openly in the military,
00:01:42.440 a stark blow to the administration's efforts to curb transgender rights.
00:01:46.060 U.S. District Judge Anna Rice, an appointee of former President Biden,
00:01:51.640 barred Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other military officials from implementing Trump's order
00:01:55.020 or otherwise putting new policy into place, effectuating it.
00:01:58.740 She also said the plaintiff's military statuses must remain unchanged until further order of the court.
00:02:04.540 The judge said her order intends to maintain the status quo of military policy regarding transgender service
00:02:09.180 that existed before Trump signed the order titled Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness.
00:02:14.300 She stayed her order until Friday to give the administration time to appeal.
00:02:19.480 Trump's order suggests that transgender people cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service
00:02:25.400 because they threaten the lethality of the armed forces and undermine unit cohesion,
00:02:30.320 an argument long used to keep marginalized communities from serving.
00:02:32.960 So a little bit more editorializing from the Hill in this what is supposed to be a
00:02:37.880 supposed to be a news article.
00:02:41.440 The executive order states a man's assertion that he's a woman and his requirement that others honor this falsehood
00:02:46.460 is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member.
00:02:50.980 The judge wrote in her opinion that the president has both the power and obligation to ensure military readiness,
00:02:55.220 but noted that leaders of the armed forces have long used that justification to, quote,
00:03:00.440 deny marginalized persons the privilege of serving.
00:03:04.720 OK, so Trump, you know, the guy that, you know, who actually runs the country and runs the military,
00:03:10.700 that guy, the president of the United States, I think, is the title that he uses.
00:03:15.560 Trump believes that it threatens unit cohesion and military readiness to have people in the military
00:03:21.100 who are totally disconnected from reality, people who are not living in the real world,
00:03:26.940 people who are in some fantasy land of their own mental construction.
00:03:31.500 He thinks that having people like that in the military is a threat to unit cohesion
00:03:35.640 and the lethality of our forces.
00:03:37.880 That's what Trump thinks.
00:03:39.280 This random federal judge happens to personally disagree.
00:03:45.140 She personally feels that it's actually a great idea to invite people in who are deeply confused
00:03:49.740 about the basic facts of our physical reality and to invite them into the military.
00:03:54.680 That's how she feels.
00:03:56.360 So the two of them feel different different ways about it.
00:04:00.000 Now, obviously, Trump is right.
00:04:02.700 He's correct about this.
00:04:05.580 Clearly, yes, when you have a man in the military who is pretending to be a woman,
00:04:10.620 that does, among other things, threaten the cohesion of everyone else in his unit.
00:04:15.860 You know, we want everyone in the military to be focused solely on defending the country
00:04:21.800 and killing the enemy.
00:04:22.680 That's what the military is for.
00:04:25.040 That's their job.
00:04:27.040 That should be their sole focus.
00:04:29.040 Anything that does not assist in that effort, anything that is not pointed at that objective,
00:04:37.200 anything that doesn't advance the mission is not good.
00:04:41.160 Their focus should then not be on affirming some guy's female self-identity.
00:04:49.020 And for the trans people themselves, we know that their top priority, personally,
00:04:52.620 will never be defending the nation and killing the bad guy.
00:04:55.640 Their top priority will always be the affirmation and reinforcement of their false identities.
00:04:59.860 You know, if I showed up to the recruitment office to sign up for the Army or the Marines,
00:05:06.820 and I was filling out the paperwork, and on the paperwork, I wrote that I'm a zebra,
00:05:12.740 I would not be accepted into the military.
00:05:15.640 And nobody would expect that I would be.
00:05:18.320 Even if I said the fact that I'm a zebra is not a major focus of mine.
00:05:22.580 Even if I said, you know, I'm a zebra, but it's not a big deal.
00:05:25.440 But, you know, it's just I happen to be one.
00:05:27.480 I happen to be a zebra.
00:05:28.680 I don't make a big thing of it.
00:05:29.860 But just so you guys know, before I sign up, I want you to know I am a zebra.
00:05:36.060 Even if I'm a patriot, I want to fight for the country.
00:05:41.380 Even if that was the case.
00:05:43.800 I say, don't worry, I won't make a big thing of it.
00:05:45.700 I just happen to be a zebra.
00:05:47.900 None of that would matter.
00:05:49.740 Having someone in the unit who thinks he's a zebra is a completely unnecessary and totally egregious distraction.
00:05:56.660 Not to mention that there are now very serious questions about my own stability and my own mental clarity and resilience.
00:06:04.340 How can the United States government issue me a weapon as a man who thinks I'm a zebra?
00:06:09.780 And why would they do this?
00:06:10.920 Yes, there might be some recruitment shortages and that situation is getting better.
00:06:17.100 But there are still plenty of potential recruits out there who don't think that they're zebras.
00:06:23.060 So we don't need to start recruiting from the zoo just yet.
00:06:26.100 So that's why Trump's order makes sense.
00:06:30.280 For that reason.
00:06:33.020 But here's the thing.
00:06:35.220 All of that is almost irrelevant, really.
00:06:40.340 The fact that Trump is right on the merits here is...
00:06:45.100 It's good that he's right.
00:06:47.480 But when it comes to what this judge is doing, it's almost irrelevant.
00:06:53.880 Because the point is that Trump runs the military.
00:06:58.520 He's the commander-in-chief.
00:07:01.300 He's allowed to determine these kinds of policies.
00:07:03.940 You don't have to agree with them.
00:07:06.020 You don't have to agree with the way that he operates as commander-in-chief.
00:07:09.780 But he is the commander-in-chief.
00:07:12.180 The fact that the judge personally disagrees with his policy is totally irrelevant.
00:07:19.160 Because she doesn't get to determine the policy for military recruitment.
00:07:23.780 She is not the president.
00:07:25.300 These judges are not the president.
00:07:28.440 So if you're on the left and you're listening to this, try to understand.
00:07:31.920 Try to understand this very basic point.
00:07:36.700 These judges are not the president.
00:07:39.780 Which means there must be some powers that the president has that the judges don't.
00:07:48.740 Because if there's nothing, if the judges can just override anything Trump does with the stroke of a pen,
00:07:56.980 then the judges are all the president altogether.
00:08:00.740 Each federal judge is the president.
00:08:02.840 The branches of government.
00:08:07.820 For all these leftists who are going on about constitutional crisis.
00:08:11.580 Like, what do you know about the Constitution?
00:08:13.240 And since when did you give a damn about it anyway?
00:08:18.000 You know what the Constitution says?
00:08:19.200 The Constitution says that the branches of the government are co-equal.
00:08:22.280 Separate but equal.
00:08:23.040 Have you heard about that phrase?
00:08:24.460 Hopefully you'll learn that in civics and grade school.
00:08:30.000 Which means that judges cannot supersede the president in every case.
00:08:36.780 None of these people were voted into office to set policy.
00:08:39.960 None of these people were voted into office at all.
00:08:43.180 These are unelected judges trying to override not just the president, but the will of the people.
00:08:48.040 The people voted for Trump so that he would put policies like this in place.
00:08:54.200 Yes, even the trans ban in the military.
00:08:56.400 Trump put that in place in his first term.
00:08:58.640 People that voted for him knew that.
00:09:02.280 You know, when you vote for a guy who was already in office once, what you're saying, your message is,
00:09:06.840 yeah, I'd like more of that.
00:09:08.420 I want him to continue doing what he was, I might want him to do other things as well,
00:09:12.520 but I approve of how he governed, and I'd like to have more of that, please.
00:09:19.600 That's what the voters are saying.
00:09:21.280 You ever feel too busy to make healthy choices?
00:09:23.240 Do you find yourself too tired at the end of the day to cook a healthy meal

00:10:26.180 Daily Wire reports, FBI Director Cash Patel said on Friday
00:10:29.060 that federal agents arrested a Milwaukee County, Wisconsin judge
00:10:32.640 who was suspected of helping an illegal immigrant from Mexico
00:10:34.980 evade immigration and customs enforcement officers.
00:10:37.320 Last week, ICE agents showed up at a Milwaukee County courthouse
00:10:40.540 to arrest a Mexican citizen after a hearing before Judge Hannah Dugan.
00:10:44.980 The judge directed ICE agents to wait in Chief Judge Carl Ashley's office
00:10:48.760 and then told the defendant to exit the courtroom through a side door.
00:10:53.840 Patel said in a post,
00:10:54.900 We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject
00:10:59.820 to be arrested in a courthouse.
00:11:01.860 Thankfully, our agents chased down the perp on foot
00:11:03.940 and he's been in custody since,
00:11:05.680 but the judge's obstruction created increased danger to the public.
00:11:09.460 The FBI Director added that the Bureau would share more information soon
00:11:12.480 and thanked the FBI's Milwaukee Field Office for its work in arresting the judge.
00:11:16.700 Pam Bondi, Attorney General, also confirmed it on X saying,
00:11:24.340 I can confirm that our FBI agents just arrested Hannah Dugan,
00:11:27.020 the county judge in Milwaukee,
00:11:28.180 for allegedly helping an illegal alien avoid an arrest by ICE.
00:11:32.060 No one is above the law.
00:11:34.320 So this is great.
00:11:35.720 I mean, this is exactly what we've been waiting for, what we need.
00:11:41.860 Holding these kinds of people accountable.
00:11:43.600 And of course, the media is treating this like it's a nuclear catastrophe,
00:11:47.620 but these are the same people who cheered for years
00:11:49.740 while a former president was arrested multiple times.
00:11:53.400 So we don't need to take their protests seriously at all.
00:11:57.160 This judge allegedly obstructed the enforcement of immigration law
00:12:00.420 and stood in the way of the law being enforced.
00:12:06.380 If the allegations are true, then it's a flagrant,
00:12:10.360 not even a borderline case.
00:12:12.240 I don't even know what a borderline case like this would look like,
00:12:14.480 but whatever it is, it's not this.
00:12:17.400 If this is what she, in fact, did,
00:12:18.940 which was like tell the ICE agents to go wait over there
00:12:21.160 and then sneak this guy out the back entrance,
00:12:24.560 you're trying to help a fugitive, essentially, escape justice.
00:12:30.540 And if that's the case, then she committed a crime,
00:12:33.460 she should be prosecuted, she should be convicted,
00:12:36.040 and then also sent to prison.
00:12:38.240 So it's important that every part of this happen.
00:12:40.840 This is the first step.
00:12:44.220 But if it's not seen through to the end, including prison time,
00:12:48.660 then it will have the opposite of the effect that's intended.
00:12:54.220 Because this should be a kind of a warning shot.
00:12:57.640 This should be making an example of this person that
00:13:01.620 we don't care if you're a judge,
00:13:04.020 we don't care if you're a mayor, a governor.
00:13:05.460 We have borders in this country.
00:13:08.620 We have immigration law.
00:13:10.340 And you are not entitled to defy it whenever you feel like.
00:13:17.880 So this is an opportunity to make an example out of someone.
00:13:21.560 But if she ends up getting off the hook,
00:13:25.440 if she ends up just getting a slap on the wrist,
00:13:27.400 then you've done the opposite of making an example.
00:13:30.660 You've made an example, but it's the wrong kind of example.
00:13:34.160 So she needs to go to prison if she is, in fact, guilty.
00:13:37.200 And if you want to know more about this judge, Hannah Dugan,
00:13:39.620 here's a clip of her from, I think, recently,
00:13:44.140 not in relation to this case,
00:13:45.880 but her just sort of talking about her judicial philosophy, I suppose.
00:13:50.660 Listen to this.
00:13:51.640 The rule of law is how we address our social issues,
00:13:57.580 how we address our disputes,
00:14:00.440 but also how we grow as people.
00:14:03.260 The rule of law is premised on equal justice,
00:14:06.420 but also we have evolved into due process.
00:14:09.660 And it's really the due process.
00:14:12.020 I, as a person who, for a couple decades,
00:14:16.060 almost represented low-income people,
00:14:19.020 it is due process that really equalizes
00:14:21.760 those differences between people.
00:14:24.960 If we follow the rule of law,
00:14:26.520 which includes processing our cases
00:14:29.440 in an orderly manner, in a predictable manner,
00:14:33.200 in a manner that holds people to standards,
00:14:36.800 then we're able to achieve that equal justice
00:14:41.080 that we are promised and hope to have
00:14:44.180 continue despite our differences,
00:14:49.300 despite our class differences,
00:14:51.860 despite our racial and religious differences.
00:14:54.580 The Milwaukee Courthouse has, for decades,
00:14:56.760 been known to really attempt innovations,
00:15:00.020 apply the traditional law,
00:15:01.880 but also look at solutions that are more complicated
00:15:05.200 because these cases that involve, say, veterans
00:15:08.420 or mental health patients or children
00:15:12.600 are more complicated than what the law can address.
00:15:16.760 The solutions or the sanctions
00:15:18.580 or the punishment or the sentences
00:15:22.240 are fashioned more towards
00:15:25.220 addressing the global issues involved in the case,
00:15:29.760 such as violence or mental health issues
00:15:33.860 or drug treatment issues,
00:15:35.200 rather than punishing outright.
00:15:37.980 Okay, excruciating, but that's kind of
00:15:40.840 a perfect video in many ways
00:15:43.340 because it's a perfect representation
00:15:44.780 of the kinds of woke judges
00:15:46.680 that are destroying our communities,
00:15:48.380 destroying our country.
00:15:49.300 So much violence and chaos
00:15:51.880 comes from these kinds of people.
00:15:54.620 But when you listen to her
00:15:55.880 and you're not paying attention to the content,
00:15:59.740 she sounds very unobjectionable.
00:16:02.040 She's got, you've got the elevator piano music
00:16:04.540 in the background.
00:16:06.380 It's just this old lady who sounds
00:16:08.300 and looks like a DMV employee
00:16:10.060 babbling in almost a whispered tone,
00:16:14.460 kind of monotone,
00:16:15.640 talking about helping the less fortunate
00:16:18.340 or whatever,
00:16:19.340 not ranting and raving,
00:16:20.840 not foaming at the mouth,
00:16:21.820 nothing like that.
00:16:23.800 There's nothing on the surface
00:16:25.080 that sort of screams radical to you.
00:16:29.760 And yet her ideology is extremely radical
00:16:32.920 and it has caused untold harm.
00:16:37.380 I mean, this woman is a conqueror and destroyer.
00:16:40.900 Women and everyone like her.
00:16:43.560 Our society has been conquered and destroyed
00:16:45.660 by these kinds of women.
00:16:46.840 Not only women, but many of them are.
00:16:50.700 This is like, she's like the Genghis Khan of our time.
00:16:53.520 That's what our Genghis Khan looks like, unfortunately.
00:16:55.680 Like a middle school lunch lady.
00:16:57.860 So what is she actually saying?
00:16:59.660 Well, you kind of have to understand the code.
00:17:01.500 You have to know a bit about
00:17:02.440 how to translate woke jargon into English.
00:17:05.540 And she says that the Milwaukee courthouse
00:17:07.580 is innovating.
00:17:09.480 Well, that's a red flag number one.
00:17:11.460 We don't want judges to innovate.
00:17:13.100 Innovation is not what we want
00:17:15.240 from the judicial system.
00:17:17.380 We want you to enforce the law.
00:17:19.000 We want you to punish the offenders.
00:17:21.380 We don't really want innovation.
00:17:23.860 And then she says that,
00:17:25.160 well, we're focusing less on punishment.
00:17:28.140 And that, of course, is the major red flag.
00:17:29.960 That's the number one major red flag.
00:17:31.520 You hear this from a judge.
00:17:33.420 That's like the worst thing
00:17:34.520 you can hear from a judge.
00:17:36.240 But we're not focused on punishment.
00:17:39.500 It's like hearing a doctor say,
00:17:41.280 you know, I'm not as focused
00:17:42.340 on treating the actual disease.
00:17:44.420 I try to be more innovative.
00:17:46.000 I try to be more open-minded.
00:17:47.900 Some diseases are good.
00:17:50.640 No, treat the disease.
00:17:51.760 That's why you exist.
00:17:52.740 That's your whole job.
00:17:54.700 And as a job, as a judge,
00:17:56.960 your job is to punish.
00:17:59.900 Not to innovate.
00:18:00.820 Your job is to punish.
00:18:03.220 Now, that may not be your only job
00:18:05.260 in every case,
00:18:08.000 but that's really your main job.
00:18:11.900 Yes, it's to punish.
00:18:13.480 Not to bring about social change,
00:18:15.800 which she talks about in the longer clip.
00:18:17.820 Your job is to follow the law,
00:18:19.660 enforce it, and punish.
00:18:22.620 Your job is justice.
00:18:24.620 You are the justice system.
00:18:26.260 We're part of it.
00:18:26.920 And justice means punishment.
00:18:33.500 That's what it means.
00:18:37.140 So, when you hear that,
00:18:38.940 you automatically know
00:18:39.900 this is a,
00:18:42.040 despite how she comes off,
00:18:44.100 this is a dangerous radical.
00:18:47.140 And this is how our dangerous radicals
00:18:49.280 come off.
00:18:49.700 And this is someone who,
00:18:51.140 again, if she's guilty
00:18:51.900 of what she's been accused,
00:18:52.840 she deserves to go to prison.
00:18:55.040 The Post Millennial reports,
00:18:56.440 on Tuesday,
00:18:57.100 a federal judge struck down
00:18:58.240 a law from Florida
00:18:59.160 that bars minors
00:19:00.180 from getting puberty blockers
00:19:01.340 or cross-sex hormones
00:19:02.840 for sex treatment interventions
00:19:04.380 if a parent consents to treatment.
00:19:08.560 He compared the law
00:19:10.600 to discrimination
00:19:11.520 against minorities and women.
00:19:14.500 Senior Judge Robert Hinkle
00:19:15.920 stated in his opinion
00:19:16.740 that Florida went too far
00:19:17.980 by barring trans-identified minors
00:19:20.140 from being prescribed puberty blockers
00:19:21.500 and cross-sex hormones
00:19:22.280 if they have parental consent.
00:19:24.140 Hinkle, who was nominated
00:19:24.900 by Democratic President Bill Clinton,
00:19:26.420 quoted Martin Luther King Jr.
00:19:28.740 and compared getting the treatment
00:19:29.780 as a minor
00:19:30.440 to women and minorities
00:19:31.440 fighting for civil rights.
00:19:34.860 Hinkle said
00:19:35.500 in the over 100-page decision,
00:19:37.760 some transgender opponents
00:19:38.640 invoke religion
00:19:39.440 to support their position,
00:19:40.760 just as some once invoked religion
00:19:42.340 to support their racism
00:19:43.340 or misogyny.
00:19:44.920 Transgender opponents
00:19:45.580 are, of course,
00:19:46.200 free to hold their beliefs,
00:19:47.620 but they're not free
00:19:48.320 to discriminate
00:19:48.740 against transgender individuals
00:19:50.400 just for being transgender.
00:19:51.440 In time,
00:19:52.640 discrimination against
00:19:53.320 transgender individuals
00:19:54.100 will diminish
00:19:54.620 just as racism
00:19:55.380 and misogyny
00:19:55.920 have diminished.
00:19:57.160 To paraphrase a civil rights advocate
00:19:58.600 from an earlier time,
00:19:59.520 the arc of the moral universe
00:20:00.600 is long,
00:20:01.340 but it bends towards justice.
00:20:06.260 Governor Ron DeSantis
00:20:07.280 blasted the ruling,
00:20:08.200 saying,
00:20:08.780 through their elected representatives,
00:20:09.920 the people of Florida
00:20:10.520 acted to protect children
00:20:11.360 in the state.
00:20:12.260 The court was wrong
00:20:12.860 to override their wishes
00:20:13.640 as we've seen here in Florida,
00:20:14.540 the United Kingdom,
00:20:15.160 and across Europe.
00:20:16.140 There's no quality evidence
00:20:17.160 to support the chemical
00:20:17.980 and physical mutilation
00:20:18.620 of children.
00:20:19.080 These procedures
00:20:20.280 do permanent
00:20:20.860 life-altering damage
00:20:21.640 to children,
00:20:22.260 and history will look back
00:20:23.120 on this fad in horror.
00:20:27.480 And, of course,
00:20:28.080 he's right about that.
00:20:28.660 I have to tell you
00:20:29.040 that I sort of appreciate
00:20:30.320 this ruling.
00:20:31.340 I disagree with it,
00:20:32.160 obviously.
00:20:33.080 By disagree,
00:20:33.620 I think it's totally deranged,
00:20:35.720 both morally
00:20:36.300 and intellectually,
00:20:37.880 not to mention legally.
00:20:40.180 But I appreciate it
00:20:41.900 because, for one thing,
00:20:43.240 it just brings us closer
00:20:44.180 to the Supreme Court
00:20:45.040 ruling on this issue.
00:20:46.020 And I feel very confident
00:20:48.220 that,
00:20:49.220 and maybe I don't want
00:20:50.140 to jinx it,
00:20:50.980 but I feel very confident
00:20:51.860 that the current makeup
00:20:53.300 of the Supreme Court
00:20:53.940 will come to the right
00:20:55.380 conclusion on this.
00:20:56.620 I don't see the Supreme Court
00:20:57.940 when the time comes
00:21:00.020 and it will eventually.
00:21:02.040 I don't see the Supreme Court
00:21:02.700 ruling that parents
00:21:03.540 have a constitutional right
00:21:04.800 to have their children
00:21:06.300 sterilized.
00:21:07.640 I don't see that.
00:21:08.660 I appreciate the ruling
00:21:09.760 also because it's
00:21:11.080 so flimsy,
00:21:12.680 so weak,
00:21:14.080 so clearly
00:21:15.420 ideologically motivated
00:21:16.780 that it will not only
00:21:18.640 be easily overturned,
00:21:19.640 but it just continues
00:21:20.840 to expose the gender
00:21:22.200 ideologues for who they are.
00:21:24.480 I mean,
00:21:24.760 it's that ludicrous.
00:21:27.680 It's hard to even know
00:21:28.560 where to begin,
00:21:29.220 and this article only gives
00:21:30.140 a brief snippet
00:21:30.880 of the judge's ruling.
00:21:31.640 The New York Times article
00:21:32.460 on this ruling
00:21:32.960 has other snippets
00:21:34.280 just as absurd like this.
00:21:35.960 Reading now from
00:21:36.780 the decision,
00:21:38.440 the state of Florida
00:21:38.960 can regulate as needed,
00:21:40.260 but cannot flatly deny
00:21:41.480 transgender individuals
00:21:42.420 safe and effective
00:21:43.160 medical treatment,
00:21:44.380 treatment with medications
00:21:45.380 routinely provided to others
00:21:46.640 with the state's full approval
00:21:47.720 so long as the purpose
00:21:49.040 is not to support
00:21:49.680 the patient's
00:21:50.200 transgender identity.
00:21:54.960 Safe and effective.
00:21:57.120 Says who?
00:21:59.460 You know,
00:21:59.720 there's a reason,
00:22:00.440 as Governor DeSantis
00:22:01.820 alluded to,
00:22:02.800 there's a reason
00:22:03.340 these treatments
00:22:04.100 are being banned
00:22:05.220 across the world,
00:22:06.180 often by governments
00:22:06.940 that are otherwise
00:22:07.820 very sympathetic
00:22:08.920 to the leftist cause
00:22:10.880 and the LGBT cause
00:22:12.240 more broadly.
00:22:13.620 That's because there is
00:22:14.560 no reliable evidence
00:22:16.820 that these drugs,
00:22:18.540 when given to minors
00:22:19.300 for this purpose,
00:22:20.480 are safe or effective,
00:22:22.380 and lots of evidence
00:22:23.100 to the contrary,
00:22:23.820 not to mention
00:22:24.200 just basic common sense
00:22:25.420 that should already
00:22:28.060 reveal the truth
00:22:29.920 of this.
00:22:32.160 And besides,
00:22:32.700 effective at what exactly?
00:22:35.040 What are the drugs
00:22:36.220 supposed to be
00:22:37.020 effectively doing?
00:22:38.960 Can you explain that?
00:22:40.860 They're not effective
00:22:41.720 at changing
00:22:42.200 anyone's biology.
00:22:43.940 They're not effective
00:22:44.820 at changing males
00:22:45.820 into females.
00:22:48.200 So,
00:22:48.700 this is totally wrong,
00:22:49.500 but let's go back
00:22:49.980 to that bit
00:22:50.420 that the post-millennial
00:22:52.480 quoted.
00:22:55.000 Some transgender opponents
00:22:56.100 invoke religion
00:22:56.760 to support their position,
00:22:57.720 just as some once
00:22:58.440 invoked religion
00:22:59.180 to support their racism
00:23:00.080 and misogyny.
00:23:03.620 Transgender opponents
00:23:04.220 are, of course,
00:23:04.660 free to hold their beliefs.
00:23:06.000 To paraphrase
00:23:06.460 a civil rights advocate
00:23:07.100 from an earlier time,
00:23:07.760 the arc of the moral universe
00:23:08.680 is long,
00:23:09.320 but it bends towards justice.
00:23:10.280 So,
00:23:10.540 this is just full-on,
00:23:12.820 undisguised,
00:23:14.420 left-wing activism.
00:23:16.540 It's not a legal decision
00:23:17.580 at all.
00:23:18.960 Like,
00:23:19.520 what you read there
00:23:20.220 is indistinguishable
00:23:21.120 from what you might read
00:23:22.020 in an editorial
00:23:22.740 on Pink News
00:23:23.580 or something.
00:23:25.120 Let's start with the fact
00:23:25.880 that the transgender opponents,
00:23:28.360 quote-unquote,
00:23:28.760 meaning in this case,
00:23:29.380 people who are opposed
00:23:30.760 to transitioning minors,
00:23:32.960 those people,
00:23:34.560 us,
00:23:35.300 we actually don't invoke religion
00:23:37.940 as our primary argument.
00:23:39.560 I very rarely hear that.
00:23:43.180 I rarely hear anyone
00:23:44.620 on our side
00:23:45.500 of this debate
00:23:46.420 do that.
00:23:47.260 when two people
00:23:50.260 are arguing about
00:23:51.200 whether it's a good idea
00:23:52.480 to give,
00:23:53.000 quote-unquote,
00:23:53.320 puberty blockers to minors
00:23:54.420 or whether it's a good idea
00:23:55.200 to perform cosmetic
00:23:56.020 double mastectomies
00:23:56.700 on minors,
00:23:57.420 I rarely hear the person
00:23:59.440 on the right side
00:24:00.340 of that debate,
00:24:01.940 I rarely hear them say,
00:24:03.840 well,
00:24:04.040 you shouldn't do that
00:24:04.580 because God says it's bad.
00:24:06.760 Now,
00:24:07.260 it's true that God
00:24:08.180 does say that it's bad.
00:24:09.840 It's a true statement.
00:24:11.740 But,
00:24:13.140 I don't,
00:24:13.660 we don't need to invoke
00:24:15.020 religion at that point
00:24:16.340 of the discussion
00:24:16.980 for the same reason
00:24:17.840 that we don't need
00:24:18.380 to invoke religion
00:24:19.120 to explain
00:24:19.840 that three times three
00:24:21.400 equals nine.
00:24:24.240 Now,
00:24:25.120 I mean,
00:24:25.460 you could,
00:24:26.360 but it's,
00:24:28.360 that doesn't need
00:24:29.980 to be your first argument.
00:24:32.460 In fact,
00:24:33.240 it's usually the other side
00:24:34.680 that brings religion
00:24:37.080 into the conversation.
00:24:38.180 this judge is,
00:24:41.280 this judge does it right here.
00:24:43.440 He has no evidence-based argument,
00:24:46.700 no scientific argument.
00:24:48.780 He has only a moral argument.
00:24:51.200 It's a completely unhinged moral argument,
00:24:53.920 but that's all he has.
00:24:55.280 And so,
00:24:59.860 and he is the one
00:25:00.940 which we find so often
00:25:02.760 with the left
00:25:03.240 that
00:25:03.540 when they are,
00:25:06.480 when they're arguing
00:25:07.200 against the so-called
00:25:08.220 social conservatives
00:25:09.060 on,
00:25:10.560 on one of the
00:25:11.160 so-called social issues,
00:25:12.620 they will
00:25:14.520 always accuse us
00:25:16.400 of,
00:25:17.540 you know,
00:25:18.020 bringing the Bible
00:25:18.800 into it.
00:25:19.660 Not that,
00:25:20.320 not that it's wrong
00:25:21.480 to bring the Bible
00:25:22.380 into a conversation,
00:25:23.240 but the point is that
00:25:24.200 they will do it
00:25:25.780 much quicker,
00:25:26.900 actually,
00:25:28.120 generally,
00:25:28.580 than we will
00:25:28.980 in these conversations.
00:25:30.020 And in this case,
00:25:30.620 we also get the quote
00:25:31.660 from Martin Luther King Jr.
00:25:35.220 By the way,
00:25:36.560 how do you think
00:25:38.160 that any of the
00:25:39.160 civil rights
00:25:40.220 leaders
00:25:41.380 of the mid-20th century
00:25:42.900 or before,
00:25:44.920 how do you think
00:25:45.540 any of them would feel
00:25:46.340 about puberty blockers
00:25:47.520 for children?
00:25:50.800 Like,
00:25:51.140 what,
00:25:51.600 is there any indication
00:25:52.580 that any of them
00:25:54.100 believed that gender
00:25:55.900 was fluid?
00:25:57.700 If Martin Luther King Jr.
00:25:58.800 was around today
00:25:59.420 and you asked him,
00:26:00.560 is gender fluid?
00:26:02.480 Like,
00:26:02.760 what do you think
00:26:03.080 he would say to that?
00:26:05.720 And if there was
00:26:06.540 that belief
00:26:07.180 among the civil rights
00:26:08.900 leaders of the,
00:26:09.660 of the,
00:26:10.460 of history,
00:26:12.240 then why didn't,
00:26:14.360 why didn't they
00:26:14.700 ever say it?
00:26:15.840 Like,
00:26:16.240 it never came up
00:26:16.740 one time.
00:26:17.640 They never mentioned it.
00:26:19.620 So,
00:26:22.580 rinse takes your laundry
00:26:25.200 and hand delivers it
00:26:26.180 to your door,
00:26:27.140 expertly cleaned
00:26:27.920 and folded.
00:26:28.720 So you could take
00:26:29.380 the time once spent
00:26:30.240 folding and sorting
00:26:31.300 and waiting
00:26:31.860 to finally pursue
00:26:32.960 a whole new version
